Sometimes Steve says ‘I had a shower, are you proud of me?’

And Eddie will kiss him on the head, a loud, smacking, ‘mwah!’ Of a thing. And will wrap his arms around Steve’s neck, and squeeze.

And he’ll say ‘I am. I’m so so so so so proud of you baby (Stevie, sweetheart, love.)’

And Steve knows it’s silly, knows he can shower, should be able to shower, just fine. But sometimes, it’s hard. It’s really really really hard. But sometimes he still does it.

And he’s a little proud, maybe, on those bad days, when it’s something he wants to do but it's harder than it should be.

It’s always easier, definitely, hearing it come from Eddie.

Girl blogging

I’m staying the night at my big-city best friends house. His apartment. We got high. Chatted for hours on his porch. His girlfriend is here.

I am very enamored with this girlie. This was said to me a while ago. But think about that! A friend telling me that. Means that she’s thought about it enough to tell him. And he’s thought about/ heard it enough? To tell me?!! We were out in a field. Waiting to stargaze when he told me. Just after skateboarding there.

Wow I live a good life. 2024. I wanna become a teacher, btw. For young kids. I think I would be really good at that. I’m very patient. Kind. Smart. And love helping people learn new things in exaclty the way that they need to learn it.

Anyways. Back to the sauce. I’m sleeping on their little blow up mattress at the foot of their big bed. It is VERY hot today. And so the AC box is blasting. I’m having horribly horny thoughts - about the girlie in that bed - and about my partner too tbh. Like kinky baking cookies while naked and fucking type beat.

I’m gonna have a EMPTY house for my 1 year anniversary with my partner. We gon spend it well.

What I hoped MCU synergy would mean for gotg2033: Mantis being a major character, Nebula redemption arc (slow burn), Rocket and Quill’s friendship being important again, THE BLUE AND RED SUITS

What we got: Mantis and Nebula being completely OOC to fit the movie lineup, Gamora being OOC too because of 2014!Gamora, Rocket not appearing until issue four and possibly being the traitor, no blue and red suits :(

If we had to get some synergy in on the comics, then I don't understand why it couldn't have been stuff like Rocket getting a more central focus (because the Guardians series from Bendis onwards do tend to be the Peter Quill show), Adam rejoining the Guardians, Mantis getting to be a prominent character again.

Rocket was done so dirty in this issue & by proxy, so was everyone else. Literally every other Guardian would've been killing Groot by this point; the only that makes sense not to be doing that is Rocket. I can't even say that the writers weren't attempting to subvert expectations... you'd only get those expectations if you read literally anything else involving these characters & Lanzing/Kelly have proved time and time again that they didn't do that.

Last issue no female characters spoke and it's like..... maybe I've just been burnt from Dan Slott FF, but it worries me. Don't be Dan Slott FF and have no women speak for several issues in a row please god.

Also fucking hell bring back the team suits..... they were beautiful

it's so wild to me that you absolutely cannot force a hyperfixation to happen. like you'll watch the most perfectly tailor-made-for-you content that everyone says you'll love and feel absolutely nothing, and then the thing you watch on a whim to fill time will reach through the screen and put its damn fingers in your brain and start rearranging the neurons right in front of you and every single time you're like THIS??? THIS??????? and this happens like every 6-12 months forever

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.

That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
