A little something for my Rivetra Shippers, I've gathered all of the information I could.

She lost her brother a month ago,

His picture on the wall, and it reminds me,

We all know that Petra is usually the one who makes everyone's coffee or tea. Saying that she's also the only one who smiles at people.

Canonically speaking, we saw that one chapter (I forgot since I'm only starting the manga but I saw it in a blog) where the Levi, Hange, and Mike squad are around a fire. Though we never saw if Levi actually wanted Petra to stay with him.

“She said, she'll give all her love to me”

Obviously, the infamous Season 1 Letter Scene, Petra's dad stated that Petra has Hugh respects for Levi and that she have somewhat feelings for him.

“We dreamt a new life, some place to be at peace”

This was also in the chapter I mentioned earlier, it was seen that Petra was the closest seated to Levi out of everyone else.

“But things changed, suddenly”

Could be Petra's / Levi Squad deaths

“I lost my dreams, in this disaster”

I've read somewhere (and yes, this is an official characteristic of Levi) that Levi was suicidal and tried to take his life away but he stopped it when he finally found a reason to live, and since he hasn't lost anyone in a few years after Isabel and Farlan, the Female Titan Arc was a disaster after all, since everything happened there was unexpected.

After fight the female titan alongside with Mikasa, Levi was forced to lay off because of his sprained ankle.

Although the Underground City wasn't the nicest, Petra knows that Levi was one of the most caring persons she met, I mean look at his first appearance in season 1, he was assuring a dying soldier.

It has been shown that Levi talks as if he doesn't wanna talk to that specific person due to his cold and stern nature, but then again he even if he still uses that time of voice, he can stiff reassure a person.

But despite it all, we made it this far,

The amount of assist Petra has, think about the times that she and Levi has been fighting together? You could see in Petras first appearance that she called reinforcements, cough cough, Eld and Gunther, think about it, they may have been fighting together but Levi realized that the job was too much for her so he called someone else?

It looked like after Petra died Levi didn't had anyone else to fight with him, maybe he was getting memories, I suppose?

Possibly, because the amount of people Levi lost, the other wing is his, and the other one is for the people he holds dearest, Petra thinks that Levi can't fighting his own like that, he need someone to be there for him.

Petra realizes that Levi, in fact, can hold himself, but he does need mental help.

“Those wings, both white and tattered black”

Levi's souls and the souls of people he promised toml.

“With the strength of both wings, you could do anything”

Time skip to season 4

“To lead us all beyond this forsaken place”

In season 4, Levi was the only one who was wearing the Wings of Freedom cape up everyone else, it could mean that he just won't give up on it, he promised to the people and he's not gonna let go of it. It was also shown that he was the one leading the whole troop.

“So I will die, believing I, have made the right decision”

Die with no regrets?

“Oh how I long, for this to last, but it seems that my time has finished”

Petra couldn't wait for all of this to be over. But she never meant it for to be this fast. Goodbye.

Could be I love you? Maybe she doesn't have enough confidence to say it to Levi so she just said it to her dad so Petra can lay off without a heavy heart.

She just couldn't bring herself to say it.

“Well, hello there snivellus. Looking positively greasy today aren’t we?” Sirius taunted. 

“What are you doing here Black?” Snape sneered. 

Sirius hummed before responding, “We just fancied a dinner here. What about you?”

“Looking for something to grease?” Marlene chimed. 

“Marlene,” Lily warned. 

“Thought I’d visit my friend Lily here. That’s all Black,” Snape answered. 

“More like crash her date,” Dorcas muttered, as she joined the group around Lily and Jamie’s table with Remus, Mary, and Peter.

“I am not your friend Snape.” Lily stood up, accompanied by Jamie.

“Lily!” The greasy haired man faced her pleadingly, “I care about you a lot. That’s why I’m telling you to not date Potter! Thinking that you’re bi may well just be a phase that’ll go away, Lily. Moreover, she doesn’t really care about you! She just thinks that you are some sort of prize to be won.” 

Jamie looked like she wanted to dislocate Snape’s jaw, her fists curled at her sides. But the warning glance Lily threw her, made her insides calm down 

“You know nothing about me Snape,” Lily said, with gritted teeth. “Now go away before I dislocate your nose.” Sirius whistled in support. 

“Lily, we’ve been best friends since we were ten. I know you, Lily. Please listen to me,”

“If you were my best friend you’d have supported me instead of behaving like an ignorant ass. Now please go away.”

“Lily, please.”

Barely a moment later, Lily’s fist connected with Snape’s nose. Blood leaked down his front, while the rest of the gang rushed to vocally support her. 

 “You’ll regret that Lily!” Snape glared threateningly. 

Before long, Sirius had tackled Snape to the ground, and accidentally splattered the lasagna the waiter was bringing over to their table, on Snape’s head. 

“I...“ Lily began.

“You can save your breath, Lils,” Sirius started, “he’s a harmless, entitled prick”

“Looks like you have a lot of grease to get rid of, Snep,” Marlene announced. 

“And Snep, pro tip: the only shampoo that keeps the grease at bay is the Sleakeasy shampoo. You should try it out!” Jamie, ever so helpful, advised, and moved to position her hand behind Lily’s back. 

“Sorry about that Sir, we’ll cover the charges for the ill-fated lasagna,” Sirius apologised to the waiter as he helped him up from the ground. 

“Could you please get him out of this shop? He’s been troubling us, as you can see,” Dorcas asked, politely. 

The waiter simply looked baffled. However, he nodded and successfully escorted Snape out of the restaurant. 

“Now this is going to be quite the first date story to tell at the wedding.” Peter spoke up for the first time since they gathered at the table between the hydrangeas and the windows. 

Jamie blushed and looked around, anywhere but at Lily, though her hand never left Lily’s back, while the redhead laughed at her.

“Well, since we’re all together, we can have dessert and you can continue spying on us while sitting at our table,” Lily said. “Nice ears you’ve got there, Sirius. Though I’d prefer Dorcas’s floppy hat.”

“Yeah! I personally love the whiskers, Pete. Seriously, Marlene? A gily suit? Inconspicuous much? And Remus, you have enough sense to stop them!” Jamie put on. 

Remus just shrugged, his big crescent shaped moon hat toppling Mary’s tree hat downwards. “Sorry,” he said, bending to pick it up. 

“Thanks,” she said, when he gave the hat to her, “why did we agree to wear these again?”

“So we would be incognito, Mary”

“And we were successful! These oblivious dorks didn’t even realise that it was us until old snivelly pointed it out,” Sirius stated.

“Also, we did have ice-cream before coming here, so you guys should continue, we’ll leave,” Dorcas said. 

“Hey! We didn’t get to eat that ice-cream! You and Remus took it from us,” Marlene reprimanded. 

“Yeah! So we’ll be staying here and you guys can shoo away,” Sirius included.

- ok. alright. ok. good. they’re dealing with kari’s emotions now instead of just. nothing.  ok. alright. cool.  Still dont like how obscure/”artsy” they’re being with it, this is digimon not kagerou project, but ok.

- Also. I stand by tk and kari being one of the few good straight ships in digimon.  just saying.

- kari: this is my fault... me: god damn it shut up you little brat also me: god relatable ALSO me: ill take whatever display of emotions i can get

- I love how nobody believes tai is dead like.  They’re upset and worried but they’re also like “nah. he cant be. that fucking asshole just left us in our time of need” (actually only matt is the last one)

EP 2:

- I had thoughts but then the 02 kids happened and I entered another plane of reality.  I don’t feel real right now

- the only one I can remember is evil!gennai being a dumbass and being like “SUFFER AND SQUIRM YOU PATHETIC HUMANS AS YOU FIGHT OVER THE LAST SEAT” 1. humans are KNOWN for their ability to care for others you dumb obvious fuck and 2. is. is the entire tube going? because that tube can fit too people if they squish.  This isn’t a joke I’m serious it can.

- oh yeah also when i saw whomstever the fuck his name is (adult guy who i love but fuck names) and he was all bloodied i was like “its a cold day in hell when i see blood in digimon” (I think there was blood in an earlier ep but shh idc)

EP 3:

- didn’t nishijima start off as a fucking life coach to these kids.  What the fuck he was supposed to help them find a career not emotionally scar them by bloodily dying in front of one of them

- im realizing that the reason hackmon was always in his cloak, in the shadows, standing still is that they cannot animate him in any normal position for the life of him.  I drew him with better anatomy when i was 14 and didn’t have a tablet.  No seriously, look:

I didn’t say it wasn’t bad, you guys are just underestimating how bad the anatomy on this poor creature is.  Why cant ppl draw dracomon or hackmon correctly imma cry

- ordinemon has the best reaction faces

the best part about these two screenshots is that they literally cut one to the other, first the first one to the second one and then it cuts back to the first one.  They were really proud of these stupid ass expressions.

- I started overcoming my dissociation shock from the second episode and my hypercritical mind was analyzing the shit out of everything that happened (it is Not happy) but then evil!gennai called kari and evil goddess and idk if he’s exaggerating to make her feel bad or if she’s literally a fucking god of chaos and destruction and either way im like

she did kinda like.  Watch wizardmon die, watch tai die, watch gatomon get absorbed.  The dark ocean is just a metaphor for depression and honestly if 02 wasn’t all over the fucking place I think Kari would’ve had some pretty decent development in it.  Actually you know what, I’m using that as an angle to approach Tri at now, wish me luck bc i might actually give it more leeway now

EP 4:

- I’m not dissociating but I forgot to say anything again and I already forgot what happened

- I like to imagine that Tai got there like a few minutes ago, but he was like “well damn guess yall figured it out without me.  alright ill just. see if I need to do anything” and then meicoomon was Still Bad so he waited for when she struck just to make the most badass entrance possible.  Fucking extra ass bitch

- I forgot to write anything again but uhhh I wasn’t satisfied so anyways lets just get into the Juicy Details

Originally I was actually planning to be kinder to Tri than I expected.  Was very invested during it.  ‘Round the end of the last ep I realized hmmm no this isn’t working out.  Where are the 02 kids.  You should’ve brought them in to save the day.  That would’ve been SO cool and SO fun.  Fucking cowards.

god I’m kinda tired so I’m going to address a couple things I still had problems with, note that this isn’t everything it’s just everything I felt comfortable yelling about without rewatching past eps.  Like I forgot nishijima was all bloodied and presumably died in the last part until they brought it up and I was like “????” ALSO DID THE LADY WHO WAS HIS PARTNER OR W/E KILL HERSELF WITH THE GUN SHE FOUND, I JUST REALIZED LITERALLY AS I WAS TYPING THIS THAT SHE FOUND A GUN AND THEN I THINK IT CUT TO BLACK AND I’M

DID SHE FUCKING KILL HERSELF WHAT THE FUCK

anyways my problems:

1. They did joe. really dirty.  I’ll write a more proper rant on this sometime later (mostly bc charlie is MUCH better at talking about joe than I am) but basically I can tell you that his character development in the movies squandered his OG character development.  He’s basically an entirely different person.  Like Tri joe isn’t bad, besides being largely neglected (yes he has a whole half a movie to himself, no that doesn’t make up for it all), its just...not OG joe.  He’s a fine character just not the same character, and its NOT fine when you put the two together.

2. THEY DID THE 02 KIDS EVEN DIRTIER IM SO BITTER sorry you nostalgia-blind, money-hungry fucks at bandai, but the 02 cast is PART OF THE ADVENTURES UNIVERSE.  The only people who hate 02 are ones who like the characters but hate the mess of the storyline at the end, or are completely irrational and elitist about their love of the digimon series and would greatly re-evaluate their opinions if they watched the original series and 02 back to back.  They couldn’t even show them in some kind of group montage at the end??? Standing in the background when they call Mei???  Why couldn’t they call mei from a home phone also, but that’s a less important problem idc that much.  It was a cute scene besides the lack of 02 characters.  Whatever.  AND THE PROBLEM IS LIKE kari and tk?  This entire time???  Were like “oh they disappeared. oops” instead of being frantically searching for their lost friends???  Like i get tk and kari probably have fucking ptsd and can’t express any emotions because they watched important people die in front of their eyes at an incredibly young age but also 1. they didn’t address the ramifications of ptsd, so fuck that theory/excuse and 2. THAT??? WOULD ONLY MAKE THEM LOOK HARDER??? and put on a brave face as they look, but inside they’re so scared and so worried.  Not just “oh sweet, they were found/saved, theyre in the hospital but that’s fine” like WHAT theyre fucking assholes if that’s what they’d canonically do lmao.  God I am SO bitter over the ENTIRE thing with the 02 kids, it would’ve been BETTER if they were deleted from the fucking canon entirely.  Would I have still been bitter?  Yes.  But at least I wouldn’t be madder at TK and Kari too.

3. I stand 100% by the notion that Digimon is not and will never be cut out to be an adults’ franchise.  It wasn’t designed for adults, and it can’t be skewered towards adults.  These particular characters were designed for kids to relate to and find entertaining.  They do not work when placed into an adult setting.  Like, can you imagine a character like Ed from FMA going to the Digimon world?  I guess in a way that’s just Marcus but like.  Just imagine the FMA cast in Digimon Adventure.  It doesn’t work.  Digimon Tri is basically that except real.  Also Data Squad was darker than Adventure so my joke doesn’t even work.

I guess my primary point is that Tri isn’t mature enough of a setup for an adult audience.  It puts a focus on being “complex” and “philosophical” instead of working within Digimon’s constraints and making something good and adult out of that.  Like!  Digimon is a fucking TOY COMMERCIAL.  Don’t give me messages about the futility of human life.  I want bad puns and emotional characters.  That’s what Digimon has ALWAYS been, and ideally always will be.  Tri could’ve made itself more mature by dealing with the ramifications of the Digital World’s events, how it affected the kids psychologically and dealing with healing old scars.  It would’ve been a more mature take on a story we loved and would use things we loved about the story already - the fact that it took so much time exploring characters’ emotions and was surprisingly mature for the time - to make itself better.  You need to take the aspects that drew adults to the show and amplify them, not just slap on a complex story and unfunny dialogue and be like “oh this is fine, right?”

It’s not that Digimon can’t exist as an adult property, its just that if it repeats what Tri did, it’s got no merit and in my eyes the franchise is dead.  If it survives I guess I’ll be happy that people can still enjoy it but I find it unsustainable and unsatisfying to fans of the older series.  Tri is just a fuckfest of highly specific nostalgia that tries too hard to appeal to old fans without capturing what made the original series so magical, and in part thats because the original series WASN’T FOR ADULTS.  I don’t know about the Digimon Story games, bc they’re T-rated so perhaps they’re a better take on an adult Digimon story than Tri?  But you either need to make your own characters and lore specifically for an adult-oriented Digimon season, or perish.  Also, please make it a series and not a group of movies.  Getting four eps every 6-9 months was hell.

I stand by saying Appmon is a more faithful Digimon season than Tri to Digimon’s original spirit.  I believe it holds more potential for success than Tri and better embodies the spirit of the older Digimon seasons.  It’s dumb, its corny, it has horrible puns, but I LOVE it because it also has a deep dark story and emotional moments.  If you dislike Tri and you agree with things I said that make it unlikeable, I highly recommend giving Appmon a chance - if you watch a few episodes and think “oh yeah, I guess this is decent” you’re going to like it.  It’s everything Digimon has always been and hopefully always will be, just with a different concept.  And hopefully the end of the series doesn’t leave a sour taste in my mouth and I have to redact this statement haha since I’m not done with it yet, but I’ve heard good things about it so I’m hoping not so.

Overall, if you watch Tri, don’t get your hopes up.  It resolves everything okay-ish but it’s a pretty forgettable anime on its own and simply doesn’t work as part of the Digimon franchise.

I am, however, pretty interested in what evil!gennai said at the end about Diaboromon and Daemon.  It raises interesting questions about the timeline too.  We know Daemon is in the dark ocean, so perhaps that’s a hint at a future project?  (They did confirm a future project btw, in conjunction with tri being over)  But what about Diaboromon?  I dont believe that Our War Game (I think thats what its called?) took place after Tri, based on the outfits and ages and stuff, but I also don’t remember the movies that well.  Could Diaboromon still be out there too?  It’s interesting.

However, because of the lackluster performance of Tri, I don’t have my hopes up and I really hope that this “next project” goes in a different direction.  Although I guess if they include the 02 kids, I’ll be somewhat less salty...

Side note, did they ever explain why the gennais went evil?  Like ?  That’s a pretty important thing.  The gennais helped SAVE the human world in 02.  And I get that apparently Tri is ignoring 02′s ending but still.  It’s shitty, because Gennai was still a good guy in the original too (and also they cant just keep is younger look and act like 02 never happened)  MAYBE its something I missed but I dont think so.  God there’s just.  So much wrong with Tri.  I’m very displeased and very bitter and I wanna get back to Appmon asap.

It’s got good moments, its got bad moments, I dont know, I don’t care.  There’s nothing wrong with you if you like it, there’s nothing wrong with you if you don’t, and there’s nothing wrong with you if you flip flop and are split like me.  I just wish Tri fulfilled its potential instead of becoming a boring mess.

Monday Night Raw Go Home for WrestleMania Review 4/1/19

Well. Does being at a show live that I review weekly change my approach or opinions about it? This was the go home Raw for the biggest show of the year! Only one way to find out with a little of The Good, The Bad, and the WTF: #JinderFace Edition.

The Good: Kirk Angel’s emotional farewell tribute video. I’m still in a bit of disbelief that they are going to go through with this Corbin/Angle match on Sunday and the weird involvement with Mysterio here will be addressed a bit later but this video package really put in perspective how great Angle was for this company. Arguably a top 5 guy of all time and his facial expressions as the crowd chanted for him and he watched that clip was as emotional as anything on WWE TV in years.

Otis! Cheese! Any show with Otis and Heavy Machinery is instantly better. It’s a tad unfortunate that Gable and Roode have fallen so far from grace with a quick job to HM but it was still enjoyable and I got my opportunity to pop for Otis. Now turn on Gable, Bobby.

McIntyre destroys Reigns. Admittedly, I missed this because nature called after a day full of drinking whiskey and craft beer. But it sounds like something I would have loved so here it lies. We didn’t have to endure Roman in the ring or any ooooaahhhhs so this was a huge win. Now have McIntyre win Sunday.

The Revival successfully defends the titles against what feels like the only other tag team who gets title shots anymore. This was classic Revival stuff, great tag work and grinding the exciting high flying BlackOChet to a slow crawl. Wilder hit an insane Widows Peak on Ricochet and then the real action started. I really hope The One and Only never kills himself doing that Tope Con Hilo over the corner post. Dash and Dawson continue to find heelish ways to retain the titles and I’m ok with it. I would have preferred to see a Shatter Machine Live, but they didn’t lose the titles so I’m still happy. One last note here. A disturbing trend is forming where Black and Ricochet keep getting title opportunities and losing even when they look dominant. On purpose perhaps for a split? I can’t imagine they beat the War Raiders Friday either. We’ll see.

Batista. Simple and effective. Also the biggest pop of the night for the local boy. That match is still going to suck out loud but the build has been solid.

The Bad: HugBoss/GlamaKitty vs IIconics/You Cant Spell Samoan Slaughterhouse without “Useless”. This was a mess and aside from proving that Beth is still capable, it was pointless. Nia and Tamina did absolutely nothing so I guess we’re waiting until Mania to see her face to face with Jax, which will probably be the only fun thing about that match. Less Tamina doing stuff is a win for all wrestling fans, both live and at home. Banks had a very noticeable botch early on but recovered by leaning on Bayley to perform because that’s what she does now. A little too much of Peyton and Billie here ring work wise. I like the IIconics but they can’t carry a match. Yet. Peyton sold the GlamSlam far better than Taminer though despite clearly not being meaner. Because nobody is....

The debacle of the 6 woman tag between Flair/Lynch/Rousey and the Riott Squad. The match is a booking nightmare because they have made a complete mockery of the Riott Squad at this point and the match itself didn’t do much for any of the three main eventers. Now a lot of the live fans and the internet apparently loved the whole melee/arrest angle. I’m not among those people. It was far too long. Aside from the hilarious incompetence of putting Lynch and Ronda in the same car and Charlotte hitting Rousey with a vicious knee strike, this was not good. 6 days before Wrestlemania and your main event participants commit a series of felony crimes against the police of our nation’s capital? This whole thing has been so overbooked when I really didn’t think it was necessary. The match will probably be good but the Road has been rough for the last two months or so.

Rollins/Lesnar face off one last time before they throw down in NY. This felt anti climactic and a little out of character for WWE. Heyman was still great as always but this felt phoned in from everyone else. I’m struggling to remember a time where the babyface challenger stood tall on the go home show and actually won the big match at PPV, much less Wrestlemania. I’m at about 50/50 Rollins wins now, whereas, a month ago I was certain the BeastSlayer was bringing home the strap. They won’t let Lesnar look bad in losing like he did to Goldberg. Sadly I believe someone like Daniel Cormier or perhaps Ambrose will have to get involved for Seth to win.

The WTF: Apollo, who I like, stands tall in a strange melee that was apparently a preview of a battle royal that’s going to suck out loud on Sunday. First of all, this was Apollo vs Jinder with almost everyone else in the Andre BR acting as “lumberjacks”. Poor EC3. I direct you to the bottom of this post if you’re looking for how we reacted to that. Apollo is good. Everything else about this was bad. Really really bad.

Women’s title unification? How the hell do they figure this nonsense out? What a cluster.

Scream Babies destroys randos to send a message to Ebony and Ivory on SNL. My god this is going to suck so so much. I do still enjoy when the live crowd screams when Braun does though if there’s a light at the end of this tunnel. I did it. Not ashamed.

Baron Corbin vs Rey Mysterio to end the show. It took most of the metro ride back from DC to comprehend what we watched. What the hell were they thinking here? First of all, Rey isn’t on Raw. If he had faced Angle it would have made more sense. He didn’t. Rey is the #1 contender for the US Title. So making him look like a rag doll in Banker Corbin’s hands feels like a poor decision. If he gets dominated by Corbin, what will Joe do to him Sunday? You could hear a pin drop the last half hour of this show. Not a good look, WWE. At least the crowd was hot for the women’s segment and Rollins. Those were logical ways to cap the show. This was horrible. I stand by the fact that Corbin is fine as a performer and is the current champion of cheap heat but this head scratching booking keeps making him unlikeable for the wrong reasons. The show ends with Our Olympic California Raisin twisting Corbin’s ankle. So the lasting final Raw memory for Wrestlemania 35 is a build for a match no one in the WWE Universe wants to see and has been adamant about opposing for three weeks. Bravo, Vince. I hope John Oliver shows up Sunday and gives you the TeaDoily Driver.

A great Raw? No. A disaster? Also no. Just wasn’t what a go home show for any PPV should be, much less your biggest one. Plenty to like, also plenty to dislike but sadly this is standard for the product lately. I’m not terribly envious of my good friend John Brooks as he is going to NY Sunday to attend the 8 hour Showcase of the Immortals. Half that show could be great and it could still suck for four hours. 3 Hogan Belt Whips. Being there live was still fun. Unless you end up with #JinderFace like this poor guy.
