Bean update: She’s perky and sassy as usual about getting her meds but she did have blood on her ear. That’s most likely because it’s time for her mite meds (because she has recurring itchiness on top of everything else even though I switched beddings for her) so that got duly applied.

Also gonna clean her cage today. I hadn’t for awhile because I thought she was going to die and didn’t want to stress her additionally by changing her environment but clearly she is planning to be here. Plus I found two moldy apple chunks she hid under her water dish so yeah, cleaning today.

He's not a big romantic, but he has his moments without realizing

Things like;

"You want to play together?"

"I'd romance you on every playthrough" (It's said off handedly while playing stardew valley but cute nonetheless)

"Can you stay? Just stay next to me."

"I wouldn't trade you for the world."

It's dark in Kenma's room, his eyes rimmed with red as his hands lazily but expertly click buttons, he's winning from what you can gather.

"Y/n?" The game is paused right away as he recognizes your presence, arms reaching out from his chair to pull you twoards him by your torso, burning himself into your front.

He takes a deep breath before shifting to look up at you, thumbs drawing calm circles on your back.

"Don't you need to get back to your game?" Your tone is teasing as you watch one of his hands blindly move to save his game and then shut off his monitor.

"You're more important than any game."

You stay like that for a couple minutes, hands in his hair massaging the sore spots that the headset would rest, Kenma humming in appreciation as he places soft kisses onto you.

He's scared one day you'll say it and not mean it

This doesn't mean he doesn't love you though, he shows it a lot through actions though

Suna does tell you he loves you though, just not outright

Baking with Suna probably wasn't a good idea, not when half of the time he spends "prepping" the ingredients is really time spent watching you.

"This wasn't a good idea." There's flour everywhere as you laugh at Suna coughing at the flour in his lungs, a grimace on his face at the feeling of powder in his throat.

There's flour on the counters, the floor, Suna's hair and face, and soon, your face as Suna leans in for a kiss.

"You have flour on your face." You playfully pull your face away from his reach as he laughs and kisses your cheek anyways, the powder from his lips transferring to your face.

"I wish time would stop, just so I could watch you forever."

There's a stupid grin on his face, and his words fluster you to the point of a soft laugh as he grabs your hands in his and pulls you into his arms

"You look so dumb with flour on your face." There's an affectionate look in his eyes as he sways you in his arms, bowl of uncooked dough forgotten on the counter.

how does kilgharrah know merlins name? in prophecy hes known as emrys (and we see basically every magical being call him emrys and not merlin,, i think). so how does he know? did he stretch his neck long enough that he could somehow hear merlin? is it cuz theyre kin? is it cuz merlin and gaius were yelling so loudly that kilgharrah could hear them all the way in his cave? ig we’ll never know 🖐

the amount of sadness i feel hearing kilgharrah say “none of us can choose our destiny, merlin. and none of us can escape it” is INSANE cuz in season one you can SEE merlin trying to escape it. hes doing his damned best trying to have some control over his life. and then in later seasons you can see the light slowly drain from his eyes as he becomes just another toy for the gods to be entertained by. he realises he cant control a single thing about his life so he does the one thing he can: protect arthur. and he loses SO MUCH because of it! its not fair, he deserved so much, and when he finally got everything he could ever ask for, it was taken away from him by his own mistakes.

Conclusion: this episode is a 10/10 greatest episode with so many iconic scenes omg. mary collins u will forever have my heart for unintentionally kickstarting merlin and arthurs relationship destiny. i loved the whole thing and oh GOD does it already hurt knowing full well how the show ends

This poem reminds me of us. Has, maybe, put into words what I haven’t been able to say for years. Our relationship was not always closed. There was a time we were open. 

I remember growing up with you caring for me, big sister. You sang to me that time I got surgery. I remember that pretty vividly, actually. Wrote about it in a few other stories I made. Sometimes, you protected me from mom or bullies. We made mud pies a lot when I was a child. My favorite times were when we would celebrate holiday traditions together. 

Believe it or not, but there was a time in my life where I idolized you. I thought of you as this can do no wrong, beautiful being. I never told you, but, sometimes, people would bully me and call me ugly and compare me to you. They would remark how you were the beautiful sister and I, the ugly one. I was never phased by their words. I would actually agree. You are beautiful. I loved you. When you talked over me, I let you. Surely, your words were more important. If something had to happen, I’d hoped it’d happen to me. Surely, your existence was so much more necessary than mine. I showed you deference. 

I remember when you taught me photography. It was because you needed a hand, but it was maybe one of the first activities we had done together in so long. Maybe you think I hate it, but, in actuality, it is a gift that I will always treasure. 

If you call me, you know I will drop everything for you. Still. Even after everything. If you ask, I will indulge (spoil, enable) you. Still. Even after everything. 

A nine-year difference is a bit of a bitxh I have learned.

Our relationship changed--multiple times. Each with a resounding closed door. 

When you went to high school, you were busy. Most always, it seemed. It seemed like I came second to your friends. I don’t remember us--you--making time for me. But, in your defense, mom made you the second parent. You were only trying to finally live, have a childhood. I’m upset. I felt like I lost you. 

Before I went to high school, I met a man. I was 12. He was 21. When you noticed our “friendship”, you showed me attention. tbh, everyone did. (By then, I had been through a lot. I wasn’t dumb. Not in that way. I was cruel. I treated this man as a distraction, a convenient plaything. I didn’t love him. I was only using him for a year until I entered high school. The ending of our “friendship” meant nothing to me.) I put on an act to pump up the attention on me. I pretended I loved him. And missed him. I loved it. (I missed it. I missed the connections with my family. I wanted them back. I was so lonely. I just wanted to be noticed.) When you (and then everyone), found out I had snuck him in the house, multiple times, you cried so hard. Made such a scene. I instinctively felt bad. Maybe cause I made you cry like ugly cry. I felt bad too, I suppose. I betrayed the trust of everyone in my family, but I was lonely. I thought I was doing this right (do something bad, family pays attention, problem solved). I thought after this incident my family would aim to meet me in my loneliness and be with me more. Instead my family distanced themselves from me, I didn’t lose anything so much as my family thought I was a dirty liar and backstabber and rebel instead of focusing on the fact I was lonely and “troubled.” I didn’t get attention or help or even therapy. I got nasty and hurt looks. Silence. I got blamed for this, turned into the villain, instead of being seen as I was: a lonely, hurt, individual asking for help. (My actually asking of help went unanswered too btw). 

You told me a few years later how when you first came back from college, you noticed I changed. I was demure, quiet, introvert, sad. You mention, “I didn;t know how to connect with you. It was a stark change. (It wasn’t.) So, I left you alone.” You never reached out. What I was exhibiting were signs of trauma. I had lost a lot. But you hardly visited, hardly hung out with me, and so when we started speaking different languages, I didn’t know how to connect to you.

When I was in junior year, you moved back in. Gradually, you became like our mother. You are, to some degree, a narrcisstic sociopath. I could tell because without prompting you would announce yourself as the best, favorite, number 1. You would lord it over me. You began to make unprompted and unwanted comments on my life--one in which you know nothing about nor deign to listen or care about. The comments were (are) degrading: the way I dress displeases you because I will never met a guy looking like that--unkept, no makeup, hairy legs and arms and crotch, long toenails, wearing men’s clothing, wearing loose clothing, having acne; the way I never help around the house displeases you because it just proves that I’m spoiled, lazy, a waste of space, slow, no purpose; the way I needed a job because I can’t live off our parents forever, followed by, mooch, freeloader; (And when I got myself a job, oh then I needed a real job at 16. I needed something that would get me out of the house everyday, work long hours, etc. Some arbitrary bullshxt.), the way I express myself displeases you because I just haven’t met the right people yet--the people who will make me straight again, less “confused”, be “real” with me, won’t take “advantage” of me, will repeatedly beat me down with how I need to get my shxt together; the way I live displeases you because you wish that I would grow up--mature, be a functioning human who stops faking their mental illnesses, who gets out of the house, stops talking in a whiny voice, who goes to therapy because they’re the only ones with major issues, learns to drive, loses weight, gets a job, and moves out. You also, like mother, have her temper and violence. If I talk back or don’t, If I am guilty or innocent, you tell at me, deny my truth, chase me, hunt me, and hit me. You traumatized me, and still, I forget it counts as trauma. 

You told me once that I would never be your maid-of-honor. Truthfully, it did hurt. I thought we would somehow become close again. I don’t know you. I don’t care for you. I don’t remember what it is like to have a sister. 

You told me once that no one gives a flying fuckabout me being queer, and that I need to stop shoving my homosexuality down your thoart. I was shocked, more angry though. I hate hypocrites. Y’know what you did after that? You ordered chick-fil-a, booked tickets to a local drag show, bought some pride gear for pride so people would think you’re all for equality, and watched rupaul’s drag race that evening. You love queerness. You “love the gays”. Except when it’s me, your “sibling”, then it’s toxic, nasty, my sex life is taboo, I’m not good enough for women or there’s something wrong with them to like me, or I’m too fat and I can’t keep up with people I like. I’m sorry I ruin your chance at normalcy. I’m not actually sorry. 

When I was in college and you worked close, you would never offer to give me a ride. You only give me rides if it’s convenient for you and/or I can pay you for the gas. Usually, you tell me to ride the bus because you had to. I remember the day it stormed and rained so hard, no one was out on the street, and still you wouldn’t give me a ride. It was dark, I get lost. It took me three hours to get home. I came home soaking wet. I rode the bus like that, the subway, and the walk home. Sometimes, I forget how easily you will abandon me. 

I joined the sorority for your approval. To finally get it. To finally have you approve of something I did in my life for once, and also to stop your constant harassment. I liked it at first. But, I wasted so much money. It may disappoint you, but I’m glad Ieft. 

Every Christmas, you don’t listen but somehow you usually get me the most thoughtful gifts. I appreciate the things we’ve done, but I also remember that I keep you at arm’s length. 

I’m still learning to forgive myself, I wish someone had told me that everything I did for approval, for validation, for calming the storm would never be enough for the wrong person/people. I have murdered myself trying to do right by people who will never see, know, me and my work and my love. 

I worry a lot about the kids you will bring into this world--ones you are incapable of raising. I worry what trauma you’ll inflict on them as you inflicted on me. But maybe, you will treat them better. Maybe they will be normal, and so they will be loved. 

My mom told us that she made sure to have two children, so that we would not grow up lonely like her--the only child. She said we have to take car of each other and depend on each other. I don’t think she understand how impossible that is. I have many siblings in my chosen family. Friends, hyenas, who love and have continued to love me so much better than my sister. What was the point of two children if I still grew up lonely? My chosen family is all that I need.

OK so real talk here for a minute. I need a place to vent and this is as good a place as any.

You don't have to read this.

I'm just a bit pissed off at my step mom right now. I got back from an extended stay overseas about 5 months ago. And I moved back in with step mom.

Before I came back I had goals (as anyone that is basically restarting their lives would). These goals? Get a job, and go to college. It took me about 3 months to get a job, but I got one.

So that made me feel really good about myself. Yeah! I'm returning to independent life! I have personal money!

Step 2. Apply to college.

I have a specific college I want to go to. It's half way across the country. But it's relatively cheap for me to go. So bonus there. I'm saving up money (on my own) I'm getting the application done (on my own) and I'm trying to figure out the whole adulting thing.

I have been working on these goals since I got home 5 months ago. Slowly making progress. I finally talk about it with my parents. My dad is supportive, as always. Step mom? Not so much.

I make a comment about almost having my application to college done, and she goes off "how are you going to get there? You probably won't even make it this fall you probably won't get in. How are you going to pay for it all?" And various comments like that. Overall just bitxhing about the fact that I want to go to college. (Even though I KNOW she wants me out of the house)

It's like she doesn't realize that I have a job to save money to go to college. I'm doing the research and all that ON MY OWN so I can get higher education. But that's ok, if you don't want me to move out I'll live here forever. Never get more than a minimum wage job. Never get married. Never have kids. Just live with you and piss you off because I'm a failure of a human being.

I expressed a desire to get a driver's license. My dad was supportive, we talked about ways for me to get it (i just have to be proactive about getting it) and step mom comes in and starts bitxhing about insurance and how much that would be if I started driving. And then she bitxhes about me not having a license! WTF man?

It can be a scenario, headcanon or whatever structure there is. Thank you in advance and and I am totally fine with you not writing it if it's not interesting for you.

The biggest heart eyes

He could, quite literally, watch you forever

You look so pretty all co concentrated, eyes scanning the music

And the violin makes a pretty sound which is a plus

You have to tell him when you're going to practice, or if you have a concert coming up because he wants to watch 100%

He sits with his eyes darting from your bow to your face to your fingers against the fingerboard

Bokuto dosent really know much about the violin, so expect lots of questions

"What was that one?"

Bokuto's eyes are wide and filled with childlike wonder, he had just happened to stop by as you were practicing, and offered to be your audience.

"Bach."

Bokuto seems content with your vague answer, not knowing enough to pry even more.

He watches with his lips every so slightly parted, trying his best to commit how pretty you look like this to his memory, even if you stumble during a certain movement.

You end up practicing more than you usually would, not finding the heart to tell Bokuto you're finished until he spots you inspecting the pads of your fingers.

It's the coolest thing ever to him when he sees your finger callouses because "It shows how hard you've worked"

Expect him to ask you to play for him, and expect the amount of time practiced a week to jump.

Oikawa Tooru

Has joked that you should seranade him, but when you played a seranade he melted in his spot

He brags to anyone willing to listen when he gets the chance

Oikawa won't actively seek you out when you practice, but he'll turn down any audio playing in his room, whether it be a movie, or music, just to listen to you

He probably played violin for a month or so when he was really little because his sister played

Didn't know the violin could sound that pretty, and now he's hooked

He definitely has videos of you playing on his phone, you just look so pretty, and he could listen to you play on repeat

Will tease you if you get anything wrong

"You were flat just now." Oikawa gives you a smug smile as he looks away from his phone.

"It was supposed to be flat Tooru." A laugh escapes your lips as you see Oikawa's face light up with embarassment, a grumbled 'i knew that' under his breath.

He knows how hard you work and how much you practice from the way you play, and your dedication to the instrument just makes him love you more.

A chill runs up his spine at a particularly good vibrato, and Oikawa swears youve never looked prettier than you do at this moment, but of course, he'll say that at every chance he can because it's true.

The audio recording on his phone stops a moment after you do, and you listen to it together to find any problems, not that Oikawa would be good at identifying them.

"You sound really pretty." It's sighed and you're sure Oikawa didn't mean to say it out loud, but the praise feels nice, especially when Oikawa looks so intently focused.

Has definitely made Lindsey Stirling jokes and askes for you to dance for him

He's a little scared of holding your violin for you if you need to do something, he's seen how expensive good quality violins can get

Your number one supporter at any given time

"You're better than him." A gasp makes its way out of you as you scramble to hit his arm lightly, the street performer sending you a dirty look as you apologize.

"Why're you apologizing, it's true."

Atsumu gives you a shrug and a wink, squeezing your hand as you wait on the subway home, the sound of violin reverberating throughout the subway station.

He inspects the callouses on your fingers, bringing your hand close to his face as it rests palm up in his hands, his finger tracing yours before comparing the callouses on his hands to yours.

"Did yours hurt at first?"

You think for a moment before nodding, Atsumu giving a nod of understanding.

"Your hands are probably as important to you as it would be to a setter."

It's said offhandedly, but you can basically see the gears turning in his head as he tries to relate one of his hobbies to yours.

"I like your hands." He concludes as the train arrives, holding your hand tightly in his, one of his fingers moving to rub the callouse on your finger.

He did this every time you played, his eyes would be closed as he soaked in the sound, eyes opening only occasionally to memorize what you look like when you play.

Tendou sits like that until you're done, before he pulls you into the couch next to him gently so you don't hit your violin on anything, hands coming up to your neck and collarbone, eyeing the light bruise that's formed.

"Is it sore?" You can hear the smirk in his voice and can practically hear his thoughts.

"Why? You want a matching one?" It's just as you would expect as you turn to him, the smirk on his face growing to a grin.
