Ok. A few more words about this one. This week has been rough with everything going on in the world and I know a lot of people are scared and desolated - me included. Like Copia says, life decided to be ~not so great~ this time, I guess.

I needed to make something to put my head back into place and feel safe again. 'I Believe' personally feels very comforting and I figured we ALL could use some comfort now.

The iridescent, shining fallen angel is for everyone - who needs a hug, who needs comfort, who needs something to believe. And it's a little message to all of you to remember to keep on shining with all your different colors: we are ALL different and beautiful in our own singularities, no matter what those are, and if some people can't accept that, the issue is with THEM, not with YOU. And remember, you are also the reason for someone to keep on believing in life.

I hope all of you iridescent fallen angels find your comfort, your safety and ignite the fire inside of you to fight and stand up for your beliefs, with courage and grace.

I've gotten my watery emotions out now, it's time to go back to the standard fiery rebellious punk mode, hope you ghouls liked the little poetic moment :)

Much as I love BG3 I really hate how the game treat platonic relationships as less than romantic ones.

And before someone comes at me this isn't a "game too horny" post. If you ask me the game isn't enough horny and especially not enough weird horny but that's beside the point of how it treats platonic relationships very badly and as inferior.

Like maybe it wouldn't make sense for you to go with every companion in every case if you hadn't romanced them but why the hell can't I go with Lae'zel to free her people just because I didn't romance her? Why can't I help Halsin rebuild Moonrise Tower and Reithewin just because I turned him down? Why the hell can't I kick up a fuss in the Underdark with Minthara because we didn't smooch? Or go traveling with Shadowheart or Astarion? While we're at it why does Astarion just run away if he's unromanced but appear the next morning if he is?

And these are only handful of examples. Like I could add how extremely different Gale is as a character in Act 3 depending on whether you're romancing him or not. Like it doesn't matter if you have high approval or built a good relationship with him otherwise. Only romance counts. Which really does seem to be the battle cry of this game when it comes to relationships.

This is what I mean when I say that BG3 consistently treat friendship as less important, less meaningful, than romantic relationships. I'm neither ace nor aro but man it really bothers me.

i think a lot about the idea of sam’s relationship to sh (both the widely recognized types and the more subtle types). in my mind it would start as a sort of self-punishment (pre-series after a hunt that doesn’t go well and he finds the pain of an injury grounding / reminding) and then continues it as a combination of punishment & cleansing until s7, where it would transfer over into pain as a connection to reality / control over his body (he’s getting scars from hunting but he’s getting more scars from himself so that means more in the end). s8 would kind of be a movement back into the cleansing state of mind (embracing & valuing the pain from the trials) but post-09x10 would very firmly be about re-finding security within his body. anyways the sam in my head has sh scars
