As the two of you stepped out of the boutique, Seungmin watched you closely, your hands clutching the bags of clothes he had just purchased for you, not a single thing even breaking his card limit and nothing felt enough for you.
Seungmin felt guilt weighing down on him after one of his men tried to kick you out of the changing room in your underwear and he was determined to make up to you even if it was the last thing he did.
"I'm sorry about Bailey again, he can be overzealous at times," Seungmin added as he shot his guard a glance who was looking anywhere but at the two of you.
"No harm, no foul." You laughed nervously not wanting to make it into a bigger deal than it was. Seungmin had already bought you so much that he didn't need to continue to be sorry.
"Will you still save me a dance?" He arched his brow at you, extending his hand as he carefully lifted it to his lips and kissed your skin softly.
"It would be an honour to dance with you," He added, your heart fluttering as you stared at him. You'd heard stories of the man but you'd never come face to face with him until now.
"I will try, I'm working at the event as well as attending so it might be a little hard," You admit shyly. You weren't ashamed to admit you'd be working the event, everyone needed to work after all, but you weren't sure you'd even have time to grab a glass of water never mind dance with someone.
"I'm sure we can arrange something with your boss," Seungmin countered as you nodded a little, smiling at him before heading in the direction of your car.
Seungmin watched you the whole time, biting back a smirk as he felt a flutter in his chest. Bailey watched his boss, it was a rare display of kindness that he was showing to you and he didn't know if he liked his boss this way or not.
"Back inside, I need a suit and I want the staff to find everything that will fit Miss YLN's style and that is in her size sent to her place." He ordered, turning back to the cold boss that everyone knew him as.
Packages had been arriving all week long, at the work office and it was a little overwhelming. Everything from clothes to accessories were inside of the boxes and it was starting to make you a little uneasy. What if Seungmin was expecting something more than just a dance in return for the items?
"Do you remember the plan?" Your best friend - Chloe - asked you as she walked with you toward the back entrance of the event hall where tonight's ball was being held in. The further you walked inside the more out of place you began to feel in the dress he'd purchased for you. It was a masterpiece creation, crafted from the finest of silk, a midnight blue colour that shimmered every time you moved making it look like it was lit by a thousand stars. It hugged your frame perfectly, accentuating every curve with elegance and grace, dipping with a modest neckline teasing just a little of your breasts.
"Just one dance, give him some excuse about needing to be somewhere else and then I'll go back to the kitchens, change into my outfit and finish working," You assured her, smiling a little as she smirked at you. The whole week leading up to the ball Chloe had been encouraging you to go through with it, that it would be a once-in-a-lifetime thing but you felt so out of place and the silver tiara that Seungmin had sent for you to wear wasn't helping that situation.
"You look hot," Chloe promises, holding you tightly before smirking at you, straightening out your hair one last time and admiring the makeup she'd done for you tonight before letting you go.
Out of the fishbowl and into the ocean, you stared around at all the people who were inside the ball unease washed over you like a chilling breeze and you realised how out of depth you truly were.
Every eye in the room felt like a spotlight, casting judgment on you as you made your way through the other elegantly dressed guests trying to find Seungmin.
Whispers started to follow your every move, their hushed tones feeling like a dagger digging into your back leaving you feeling more exposed and vulnerable to the world.
"Come on," You whispered to yourself, your eyes darting from one corner of the room to the next, desperately searching for any sign of Seungmin.
"I'm sure she served me at an event once," A voice giggled making your heart sink and your hands begin to tremble, you should never have agreed to this. You were out of depth in this place, everyone here had no doubt seen you and it would get back to Seungmin that you were a waitress. An imposter at his ball and he'd probably hate you for it.
As you continued to wander aimlessly through the ballroom, the comments about you working other events grew louder and your sense of isolation deepened with each passing second until you decided to make your way back to the exit. You were almost there when you felt a hand gently touch your shoulder,
"There you are sweetheart, I'm sorry I'm late, I've been looking everywhere for you." You stared up at Seungmin, his eyes warm as he stared down at you with a smile on his face.
"It's okay," You breathed out, his being near you was like a sense of belonging washed over you and he smiled taking your hand in his and gently placing a kiss on the top of your hand.
"Does he know he's dating the help?" Someone laughed loudly from your left, but Seungmin either chose to ignore them or simply hadn't heard them as he began to walk you through the hall again.
"How about we dance in a little while, I thought I might introduce you to some friends of mine," Seungmin suggested as he linked your arm with his, unease filling you once again as he led you toward a group of men. You were only supposed to be here for a dance, if you were too long Chloe wouldn't be able to cover too much and you'd no doubt get fired.
"Changbin, enough details about your latest heists, I'd like you all to meet someone," Seungmin called out as seven men turned to look at you, your whole body burnt at the sudden attention you were getting from all of them.
"Lovely to meet you, Seungmin's never brought along a date before." The one known as Changbin said making Seungmin's cheeks flush and your whole body tingle.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," You said, your voice betraying you by giving off a hint of nervousness.
"No need to be nervous, sweetheart. They don't bite," Suengmin whispered in your ear, his hand gently rubbing circles on your lower back, the small action sending shockwaves through your body and yet relaxing you at the same time. For some reason you believed him, you felt safe with him and that no one would hurt you while he was around.
As time grew on you found yourself drawn into Seungmin's world, forgetting all about work and getting swept up in the whirlwind of laughter and conversations shared between all of the men. The more you stood there the more you realised that all of them were more than just members of a criminal organisation, but they were a family, bound by loyalty and mutual respect for one another. Standing there, you found yourself feeling a sense of purpose that you'd been searching for your entire life, a sense of belonging that was filling the void inside of you.
"Welcome to the family," One of the men, Chan, whispered as they finally began to leave you and Seungmin alone once again.
"Now, can I get my dance?" Seungmin winks at you, your hand placed in his as he leads you toward the dance floor.
Seungmin led you onto the dance floor, his movements graceful yet commanding. As the two of you swayed to the music, you couldn't help but marvel at the effortless charm and sophistication he exuded. The sense of belonging washed over you as you danced in his arms, the two of you enveloped in your private cocoon of warmth.
Your steps were synchronized, a seamless dance of two souls drawn together by fate. Seungmin's eyes never left yours. In that moment, you glimpsed the man behind the legend, the layers of his persona peeled back to reveal a vulnerability you hadn't expected.
As the music swelled to a crescendo, Seungmin drew you closer, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
"You're a natural," he murmured, his voice low and husky, as you felt your cheeks flushing with warmth and your heart pounding in your chest.
"Thank you," You whispered, your voice barely audible above the music. As the two of you continued to dance unease began to creep its way through the cracks of your facade. Whispers of guests around you grew louder, their words like poison arrows that pierced the fragile cacoon of happiness you had been in.
You tried your best to ignore them, to lose yourself in the safety of Seungmin's embrace but their voices continued to echo in your ears, mocking and taunting you with cruel words.
"Who does she think she is, waltzing in here as if she belongs?" Someone grumbled as Seungmin spun you around, bringing you back into his chest but you could no longer enjoy this. Their words grew louder to you as if they were all holding microphones and speaking to the whole room.
"I heard she's just using him to get what she wants in life." A female voice mumbled, your eyes shooting over to her to see her glaring in your direction.
"I bet she's fucking him for money, she could never afford that dress alone." Another voice ripped through you,
"Did you see the way she was with Changbin and Chan? She's probably trying to cosy up to the whole crew." Each word was a dagger to your heart until you were unable to bear the scrutiny any longer. You tore yourself away from Seungmin, your breaths becoming ragged gasps,
"Yn? What's wrong?" Seungmin's voice was filled with concern as he stared at you but it was as if you no longer saw him as tears pricked in the corners of your eyes. You stumbled toward the nearest exit, dropping the small clutch bag you had been carrying but no longer carrying as you sprinted out of the suffocating confines of the ballroom.
Seungmin called out to you, his voice once again filled with concern as he bent down to collect your bag, frowning as you disappeared through the crowds leaving him with nothing but a memory of your night together.
"I can help you forget her," Someone breathed out beside Seungmin but he merely snapped his fingers as Bailey appeared beside him, escorting the woman away leaving Seungmin thinking of ways to find you again since he would never be able to ignore the spark that had ignited inside of you both.
The bell above the entrance of the small cafe you'd started working in tinkled and you got ready to greet the next customer. Ever since your mishap at the ball, you'd quit the job you had in hopes it would stop Seungmin from searching for you. You'd never felt so embarrassed in your life and you hoped that the small dance with you was enough for him to leave you alone. Even if it did pain you to never see him again.
"Everyone out!" The voice you'd heard less than a week ago bellowed out, your head shot up to see Bailey standing there with his gun at the ready. People rushed out of the cafe and you stared at Bailey who had a slight smirk playing on his cheeks.
"Boss doesn't like it when people hide from him," He stated with a soft tone, putting his gun away as you stared at him. The bell above the door once again rang,
"I'm going to get fired for this, you know that right?" You cocked a brow at Seungmin, your heart going into overdrive as you saw him once again. You hated your heart for betraying you, he was in a different world to you, and the two of you would never work.
"You dropped this," He said as he held out the small clutch bag, your phone had been in that and you'd been terrified you'd never see it again.
"Thanks, I-I thought I'd lost this," You stammered, your voice tinged with gratitude as Seungmin offered you a faint smile, his gaze softening.
"Bailey, out. Make sure we're not disturbed." He ordered in a cold tone, a completely different Seungmin to the one you knew.
As soon as the two of you were alone he held out a chair for you before taking a seat across from you.
"I made it my mission to find you...I couldn't bear the thought of...you losing something so precious," He saved himself from wanting to tell you he came for his own selfish reasons because he couldn't bear the thought of losing you.
"Thanks," You whispered, your eyes staring down at the table not daring to look at Seungmin but he reached across the table, his fingers brushing against yours as he clasped your hand in his.
"I hadn't heard what was being said at the event," He admitted as he gently ran his fingers over your skin,
"Rest assured if I had, they wouldn't live to speak again," He grumbled a little, his eyes flicking with darkness making you bite your lip a little.
"It's nothing. They were right, I don't belong in that world...Your world. I'm not meant for it." You mumbled, trying to take your hands away from Seungmin but he gently squeezed yours softly.
"You belong at any dance I take you to, you belong anywhere I take you. YOU belong in my world." HJe told you, his voice commanding and yet reassuring,
"Anyone who dares to look down on you isn't worth the time of day. They're mere flakes of dirt on your shoe that aren't deserving to be in your presence." He assured you, your eyes brimming with tears as you felt your heart overflowing with gratitude from him.
"I-I don't know what to say," You admitted, your voice trembling a little. Seungmin squeezed your hand gently, his eyes never leaving yours.
"Say you'll give me another chance," He implored, he'd been wanting to get you to come out with him again and this time he was going to show you how much you truly belonged by his side.
"Say you'll let me show you how special you are. How you belong in my world." You stared at him, biting on your bottom lip as you thought about it. Seungmin made you feel as though you could do anything and when you were together you felt as though you could rule the world so you nodded.
"I'd like that," Seungmin smiled leaning across and brushing a small kiss against your cheek. Seungmin smiled as he gently raised from the chair, determined to show everyone that they were wrong about you and that they should worship the ground you walk on.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow night at 7." He said, watching you as you nervously raised from your chair and nodded,
"Sure. I'll wear one of the many dresses you got for me," You teased softly as a blush began to creep its way onto Seungmin's cheeks and a smirk played on your lips.
"I'll see you then," He whispered before placing yet another kiss on your cheek and leaving you alone, with a lot to explain to your new boss as to why his business was empty.
The night arrived and you were standing by the window of your apartment waiting for him, your heart fluttering with excitement about the night you were going to have. Seungmin had been non-stop texting you ever since the day before, fueling your crush on him even more. There was a knock on the door sending a thrill of anticipation coursing through your veins as you rushed to the door, smoothing down the fabric of your gown.
When the door opened Seungmin's mouth dropped open at the sight of you, he was dressed in a tailored suit and holding a bouquet of red roses for you.
"You look stunning," He murmured, you felt your cheeks flush with warmth and your heart thumped harder against your chest.
"Thank you, you look very handsome," You replied, Seungmin held out the bouquet for you.
"For the most beautiful girl at the ball," He said with a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips, you giggled taking them into your apartment and placing them into a vase of water.
"Shall we?" He smirked, taking your arm in his and making his way down the staircase with you close to him the whole time.
"I got a limo for us, I wanted us to arrive in style," Seungmin smirked at you as you stepped toward the waiting car, your mouth dropping open in shock.
"No back entrances for the belle of the ball," He whispers in your ear before opening the car door and helping you inside, your heart racing at the thought of what adventures awaited you tonight.
As it turned out the night had been filled with you and Seungmin dancing so much your feet were staring to kill you from being on the floor, people had stared a lot but not one had dared to say a word about you tonight. You didn't know if it was because Seungmin had threatened them beforehand or if they were a different crowd from the one from before. But you'd been left with a group of girls all gossiping about their dates, which you'd met at the last ball.
"We will date dangerous men." You heard one of the women mention as you laughed a little,
"My ears are burning," Changbin chuckled, snaking his arm around his date and smiling over at you.
"Nice to see you again, Yn," He tipped his head at you before taking his date out onto the dance floor, all of the men slowly coming back and taking their dates one by one until it was just you and Jisung's girl and Jisung who seemed to be talking amongst themselves.
A little worry began to wash over you as you felt alone again, the feeling of not belonging beginning to creep onto you until you felt a hand on your lower back.
"Sorry, I try not to discuss business when I'm in good company but sometimes they have to steal me away," Relief washed over you as Seungmin smiled down at you and you felt your heart stutter a little.
"Shall we go somewhere more private? I want to show you something." Seungmin smiles, taking hold of your elbow and nodding at Bailey to follow you both before he leads you to a staircase at the back of the room that was blocked by velvet ropes and a "closed sign." Seungmin lifts the ropes and walks up the stairs, leading you with Bailey trailing behind.
"Make sure nobody comes up," Seungmin ordered as Bailey stood at the base of the stairs and folded his arms across his chest.
"What are we doing?" You giggle a little as Seungmin winks at you, taking your hand and pulling you along the narrow hallway until you reach a balcony that overlooks the ballroom. Excitement washed over your body as you looked down a the people attending the ball.
"I wanted to show you the best view, to look over the people that had spoken down to you before." He smiled, standing behind you as you were pinned to the waist-high wall unable to move.
"Are we allowed to be up here?" You breathed out, your stomach clenching from just how close Seungmin was pressed against you.
"We're the biggest donors, we can do whatever the fuck we want." His breath caught on your ear making your whole body shiver and your thighs rub together. All night long you'd been needy for Seungmin and it was becoming slightly more unbearable as the night went on.
"I love being able to watch everyone." You admitted, looking down at everyone as Seungmin stared at you.
"How do you feel about them watching you?" His voice dropped an octave, shivers running down your spine as he ran his hands down your hips.
"W-Watching me?" You stuttered out as he pulled the layers of your gown up revealing your legs.
"Say the word and I'll stop...But I need you," He whispered as he dragged his teeth along the back of your neck, pulling your dress up higher exposing the tops of your thighs. You inhale sharply, your heart thumping harder than before, there must have been at least three hundred people down there.
"Do you want them to watch us?" You arched a brow.
"I want them to look up here and have no idea I'm fucking you...But I want you to come in front of all these people, sweetheart. To prove that you own them and that they should be the ones scared of you instead of you them," He whispered in your ear, his hands gliding over your hips and down between your thighs and you automatically spread your legs wider for him. Allowing him to rub your clit in slow, teasing circles.
"I'm going to slide my cock inside of you, fucking you until you come for me," He whispered, your hands flying behind him and undoing his belt as heat floods your entire body. You looked out at the sea of people below you, wondering if they had any idea what you were doing. If they were completely oblivious to what was happening up above them while they danced and drank their champagne,
"You're so wet for me," He groans as he continues to rub your clit, your body shaking and he'd barely started.
"I've wanted you all night," You admit, your hands gripping the small wall in front of you as you felt the tip of his cock pressing against your cunt.
"Hold onto the wall tightly," HGe orders as you brace yourself against the cool brick, your fingers gripping the edge tightly as he pushes his thick cok into you. Your teeth sank into your bottom lip as you tried not to cry out at the stretch,
"Fucking Christ, you're so wet for me." He groans loudly in your ear, his hips stilling as he fills you completely, rubbing your clit gently.
"You're made for me," He whispers in your ear as you press your lips together,
"You're made to rule over everyone," He told you as he slowly began to pull out of you, only to push back in making you squeeze around him, whimpering a little.
"Fuck," He moans out as you glance down to see if anyone had noticed but no one was paying you any attention and you allowed yourself to moan.
"Oh god," You whimper, your nails digging into the brick in front of you as you let your eyes roll back. Seungmin smirks as he begins to fuck into you ruthlessly, no longer caring if someone were to look right now and see. In fact, he wanted them to. He wanted them to see that you were his and any disrespect that they sent your way had a direct impact on him also.
"Fuck, Seungmin." You cry out as you felt him getting rougher with his movement, the tip of his cock hitting that one sensitive part that made it impossible to keep quiet.
Your legs were starting to shake as he pounded into you, the people below completely forgotten as you gave in to the pleasure.
"Cum for me baby, you're doing so fucking good." The praise sent shivers down your spine as you cry out his name, your head spinning while you squeeze around his cock. You felt nothing but the deep euphoria taking over you as you cum around him, your moans coming out strangled as your legs shake beneath you, buckling a little but Seungmin holds your waist up, bucking into you as he fills the condom he was wearing.
"Fuck," He whimpers, his hips bucking as you continued to clench around him, whimpering his name until the two of you slowly pulled apart from one another.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A year Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Are you sure I look okay? I don't want to ruin their day," You told Seungmin as you once again checked your outfit over, brushing your hands over the small bump that you'd skillfully hidden under the bridesmaid dress you'd been asked to wear by Jisung's wife to be.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart." He assured you, snaking his arm around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
"This is your fault," You scolded him, the two of you were more than happy to be starting a family, even if it was only a year since the two of you began a relationship, it felt like the right time and happy accidents happened all of the time.
"I told you I thought it would be fine in the pool." He chuckled as you smacked him with your clutch, making your way to the other girls and all their dates.
"Letting a girl beat you up?" Changbin arches a brow at Seungmin who quickly glares at him.
"Proposed to yours yet?" He teased knowing Changbin was scared to pop the question to his girlfriend yet and was lashing out at everyone else because of it.
"What dress does she have?" Jisung pried, staring at you all but Hyunjin pulled him back away from his fiance.
"Leave my muse alone, you'll see your girl in less than 20 minutes relax." He chuckled making you all giggle and shake your heads at them, your eyes flicking over to Seungmin as you pictured what your wedding day was eventually going to look like. All you could picture was your little boy or girl walking down the aisle with you toward their dad as you started another chapter of your lives together and you couldn't think of anything more perfect.
Dancing With Death
Death!KSM x sick!gn!reader Genre: ANGST with bits of fluff Warning(s): mentions of death, joking once about not dying in peace, if I missed anything, let me know!
Summary: After finding out you have 2 months left to live, Death comes to visit. He finds moving between realms to be bothersome, shamelessly asking to live with you. Eventually, Death warms up to you, confessing how much he hates bringing things to an end.
Masterlist | DWD Masterlist
Hi it's me, Death word count: 0.7 k
“You can see me, can't you?” A man in a black suit sat near you in the cafe, next to the window speckled with the falling rain.
“Am I not supposed to?” You looked at the man, confused. He was beautiful but he seemed to have a cold air around him despite the heater warming those seeking refuge from the storm in the cafe. The man shook his head with a slight smile containing no happiness in it and sat across from you. “Who are you?”
“Who am I? My dear, I am Death.” The stranger held his arms out with a big grin.
You laughed, confused. “Death? What are you here for? Gonna come and collect me?” You decided to indulge in the stranger's words, bored.
“Not yet my dear, you still have two months left,” As of a sudden, he crossed his legs, sipping a drink in his hand which wasn't there earlier. You stopped smiling, your blood running cold at the mention of those two months. “Do you believe me now?”
“How…how do you know? I never—”
“Like I've said before, I am Death. I know when you die.”
You decided to accept the nonsense spewing from this handsome stranger. “So am I being babysat until I die? Is that it?”
“Absolutely not. I have better things to do. I'll be staying around you since you're the longest contract I have currently… Can I stay at your place so I can continue to work without moving between worlds?” Death had a nonchalant look on his face. You were taken aback by how shameless he seems, asking you if he can live with you for two months, disturbing the time you had left to sort things out.
You scoffed in his face, unable to contain the laughter tumbling from your lips. “So you're gonna ruin my remaining time? Wow, I can't even die in peace. Also, how am I supposed to believe you're Death? You just randomly showed up and started talking to me.”
“Watch.” He reached out toward a rose in the cafe. As his hand grew close, the rose shriveled and dried up, some petals falling onto the floor. The dead rose stood out from the rest as an ugly blob of brown. He looked at you and winked. His body shimmered and he looked nearly transparent. Walking over to a man sitting nearby, he began moving things, scaring the customers. Eventually returning to the seat across from you, his body shimmered again, returning back to a solid state. “If you're wondering, only the contracts I have can see me when I'm in that state. But,” You blinked and he disappeared, “I can completely disappear from everyone's eyes.” You blinked twice and he was sitting back in the chair, smirking. “Believe me now?”
“Okay… Mr. Death or whatever you call yourself. I believe you. I guess. But I won’t let you move in or whatever. Because I work a job to pay for rent and food and I doubt you’d help out either.” You crossed your arms, narrowing your eyes.
The man chuckled in his seat, the noise riling the bit of fear that’s started to grow. “Call me… Seungmin. That’s the name I was given when I became one with Death, a collective group of other…well Grim Reapers. You’ll never see the others because they have their own contracts to fulfill. Anyways, for your concern, I don’t eat nor sleep. I just need a temporary place of stay rather than returning to my realm every single day because of my many contracts. Live with you or not, I will be grounding myself near you.”
“Um no thank you. In fact I will be going home so please do not follow me,” You stood up and grabbed your umbrella, leaving Seungmin sitting in the chair. The rain was pouring hard and you stood outside, struggling to open your umbrella. When you finally succeeded, a gust of wind ripped it from your aching hands. Giving up, you began walking, drenched to the bone.
All of a sudden you felt the rain stop. Seungmin was next to you, holding an umbrella. He grinned, looking straight.
“My dear, I have no need to follow you home when I’ve already been there multiple times.”
[22:00] - KSM
fluff, party, mention of alcohol, inclusion of ot8
Scenario Masterlist
Just something in the way of watching your boyfriend’s eyebrows flicker upwards when you walk into the room, surrounded by his friends and their own company, but you’re the one who lights up the room for him.
“Hey, baby.” Seungmin smiles sweetly at you, wrapping an arm around you, pulling you in closely to him.
He scans the room for a moment, before grinning, cupping your face and pulling you in for the softest kiss.
“You look amazing.” You whisper to him, making him blush lightly, trying to fight it back as he takes your hand, pulling you across the house to grab you a drink.
“Shush you, you’re the one who looks amazing.” He quips back, raising an eyebrow again, laughing when you shake your head, “You’re the one who lights up every room you walk into.”
How sweet Seungmin is to you, though would be embarrassed if any of his friends heard him, made your heart warm. He’s not openly affectionate with you usually but since the house is full to the brim, people being packed like sardines across it, he just wanted to make sure that you’re comfortable.
“What would you like to drink?” He asks sweetly, hand spreading across the air to show the display of drinks lined up on the counter, pouring himself a drink, letting you think.
“Just a lemonade, please.” You smile, wanting to get comfortable in being in the place before stuffing a drink down your throat, his soft grin at you as he pours your request made you feel better that you’ve joined the party with him.
“Where’s-” You go to ask him, but the second you turn around, you’re greeted by the boys, all dressed up smartly but none could compare to how Seungmin looks tonight.
“Hello, boys.” You smirk at them, lined up in front of you as Seungmin instinctively lets his protectiveness kick in, arm snaking around your waist before he smiles at his friends.
“Well don’t the both of you look amazing tonight?” Han compliments with a wink, taking a step towards Seungmin, nudging his arm, “You look amazing together.”
“Thank you.” Seungmin mouthes back, happy that his friends think so, letting down his guard a little.
“So this is the infamous, Y?N?” Minho looks down at you a little before breaking into laughter, unable to keep a serious face when watching Seungmin’s turn sour, “Welcome to the group, Y/N. I hope you can deal with him.”
Seungmin gives Minho daggers, who in return just winks at him, turning to you with a forced smile, “You’ll get used to my friends, I think you’ll get on with them amazingly...” He pauses, sighing, “Probably a bit too well, I might lose you to them.”
You shake your head at him, “I may get on with them, but you’re my boyfriend.” You reply softly and quietly, not wanting them to catch what you said, knowing by how they’ve been already, Seungmin wouldn’t hear the end of it.
“You guys up for a game of beer pong?” Changbin cheers over the music, pointing towards the empty table, the younger friends rushing to it.
Seungmin tries to wave his offer off, but Changbin gives you no choice but to follow, stepping behidn you both and pushing you towards the table.
“If Y/N’s going to be with you, she needs to get used to us, Puppy.” Changbin mocks, running away to hide behind Chan who’s already starting to lose his patience with having to deal with his chaotic friends.
“It’s going to be a long and fun night.” Seungmin giggles at you, pulling you to sit on his lap after he takes a seat on a chair near the table.
“Anything to be with you.” You reply, flicking a stray strand of his hair behind his ear.
please consider leaving feedback in the comments or reblogs as they really make my day 💕
Kim Seungmin didn't like celebrating his birthday that much. Sure, he liked receiving a few gifts from his friends and a happy birthday here and there, but he didn't like the blowout parties that you loved. On your birthday, you would plan this whole thing, inviting friends from school and neighbors to celebrate your birthday. You were a social butterfly, so he understood why you did that. You loved being surrounded by people you cherished. Your birthday was just an excuse to call everyone over and spend time with them.
Seungmin, however, liked keeping his celebrations more reserved. His mother greeted him in the morning, making his favorite breakfast to eat and favorite lunch to take to school. His dad handed him some cash to buy something to eat after school, which he usually didn't do and opted to save it for a better cause. His sister offered to take him out for lunch on the weekend.
Of course, being the wonderful and amazing best friend that you were (your words), you always went out of your way to do something. Like this year, you presented him with a small cake slightly smushed in your lunch box with haphazardly thrown purple sprinkles.
“I made it from scratch,” you added with a big grin as you sat in front of his desk. His friends had left a few moments ago to play on the school grounds. He'd stayed back, finishing up the last of his lunch and letting it settle in his stomach before he ran around playing soccer. A small smile formed on his face; he could never dislike your enthusiasm for his birthday.
“It looks... artistic,” he said in an amused tone, looking up from the lunch box to your face, which was scrunched up in a frown.
“I didn't know the box would be small... And hey, I baked this for you; at least show some appreciation!”
Seungmin laughed. “Sorry, thank you for making this cake for me.” He meant that; he knew that you knew it too, because your shoulders relaxed, and you prompted him to take a bite and tell him how it tasted. There was a little too much sugar for his liking, but he didn't tell you that, instead nodding his head in approval and eating more of it. It was strawberry-flavored, his favorite. It warmed his heart that you always went out of your way to do things the way that he liked.
When he looked back at you, you were tucking a strand of hair back as you ate a spoonful. The longer he looked at you, the faster his heartbeat went, his body feeling hot right up to the tip of his ears. It was a weird feeling, but not foreign. Lately, it had been happening more often. He started seeing you in a different light, something other than a friend—not just any friend, but a childhood friend. He wasn't naive; he knew what crushes were, and he knew he had one on you.
It was a realization he had come across a few months ago when his family and yours went to the carnival over the summer and the two of you had gotten separated. He came home that day, heart tap dancing in his ribcage and a never-ending smile on his face from the way you jumped with excitement after you worked together to win the obviously rigged carnival games and winning a plushie.
Some part of him knew that. You liked him back as well; he hoped his brain wasn't playing tricks on him when he saw the way your eyes lit up after seeing him. The innocent friendship you two shared was morphing into something different—a good different.
That evening, while the two of you were walking home after the extra classes you had, the crisp evening air sent a tingle down his spine as he walked along the pavement, listening to whatever you were talking about and adding his own insights whenever he felt like it.
“Oh, hey, look! Tteokbokki!” You said excitedly, pointing to the food cart run by a middle-aged woman serving the steaming hot spicy rice cakes to a few customers. With a tug of his arm, you dragged him over and ordered one spicy one for both of you to share. He didn't like eating spice as much as you did, but he didn't want to say no to you. After a short debate, he used his birthday money to pay for the food, and the two of you walked along the riverside slowly as you ate.
“Mm, these are good,” you let out a satisfied hum and continued eating.
“They are,” he agreed. The spice was present at the back of his throat, but it was weirdly good after the oversweet cake he had during lunch.
“It tastes good after eating that sugar monster I made, right?” Seungmin turned his head to look at you. “What? Don't give me that look, that cake was so sweet, how did you even finish the whole thing? It tasted like I dumped a whole box of sugar in the batter.”
“True… But you made it, so I wanted to eat it,” he admitted, feeling his face flush lightly. If you teased him about it, he was going to brush it off and blame it on the tteokbokki, but your own cheeks mimicked his, tinging red at his sudden admission.
“Still,” you protested, “I'll have to make a better one that doesn't taste like cavities.”
“I like the oversweet one. Maybe I'm an extra sugar kinda person.”
"No, you're not.”
“It wasn't even that bad.”
“Now you're just lying.”
The two of you dissolved into laughter, finishing up the last of your food. The walk home continued in relative silence for a while, him mulling over his words and wondering if he made you uncomfortable because you were too quiet. Before he could make an apology, you spoke quietly.
“I'm glad you liked it, but I still wish I could've given you a better birthday present.”
He stared at the path in front of them, the streets lit up by lamps and porch lights. “You already gave me the perfect birthday present.”
You tilted your head to the side. “What?”
“You,” he blurted out, regretting his words the next second, but once he saw your flustered reaction, his nerves calmed a little. “Now let's go home and act surprised at whatever my parents planned.” You giggled in response and nodded, your footsteps falling in sync as you walked beside him.
“Happy birthday, Seungmin.”
“You said that like ten times today!”
I’m gonna get into this now.
take this with a grain of salt I’m USAmerican so I don’t have prior knowledge of the British military much less the way mine works.
Butcher would have been 16-18 when he joined the royal marines. his birth year is 1976 so that would be between ‘92-‘94. let’s assume the application and training process takes 1 year (‘93-‘95). once that’s over there’s an estimated 2 years before you can receive specialist training (‘95-‘97). so let’s say somewhere between ‘94-‘97 he’s a candidate for special air service selection which would add another year or so probably considering the briefing course is done twice a year in the summer and winter. if he joined the rm when he was 18, he’d be done somewhere in ‘98. I don’t know how fucking long you’re required to serve and I do not care by now. I’m just gonna say by 2000 he can transfer elsewhere.
but then. to be CIA. he would need to have US citizenship which is an entire process on its own. then he’d have to register for selective service as a requirement. there’s also CIA training/clandestine service training. I’m still going through the entire CIA process which I’m sure will be difficult to get much information on. just assume this also takes a while.
there is no way he was CIA doing EIT work at black sites by March 2003. the only real information on KSM’s time held by the CIA that’s easy to find is the month of March at a black site in Poland where he was waterboarded a recorded 183 times. he was confirmed by Bush to have been moved to Guantanamo in September 2006. so let’s assume he was moved there that year. there is/was a black site within the prison so it’s a good possibility this could have been going on there if he had been there for at least 6 months prior to September 2006. that might give Butcher enough time to have any involvement whatsoever in EIT against KSM. I don’t know what requirements there are to be a candidate to be an agent who does EIT and I highly doubt that information is anywhere easily accessible online.
so. working with the span of a decade and the KSM line probably being in reference to the ridiculous amount of times he was waterboarded in the ENTIRE MONTH OF MARCH 2003 in which he was mentally broken down and giving completely false information in order to just make everything stop. what the fuck was Butcher talking about 6 months in Gitmo. man is making that shit up. I know television is bad at coherent timelines but I think the idea of him completely lying about this is funny. like he’s just insane and saying words.
disclaimer: I don’t think anything done by agents practicing EIT was funny at all and I think they deserve the same treatment they were giving to the degree that detainees have been described as reaching “near death” and sometimes even just dying due to the extreme nature of something/multiple things done to them. if you have ever paid attention to this to the degree I have for academic purposes it’s quite sickening and makes you question the morals possessed by those who work intelligence for the federal government. a well-adjusted person would never do these things nor speak of them as casually as CIA agents and medical officers present for these sessions would. power corrupts and this one example of that is absolutely one of the worst things to be knowledgeable in not just because of what was and has been done but because of how casually the government response was to allow it to keep happening and calling it necessary.
also I won’t lie I hate television because the information they’ve given up isn’t really adding up so far. I haven’t even gotten to citizenship.
#the boys meta#sorry to anyone who uses and checks that tag#the clear answer here is probably KSM most famous case of EIT by the US so let’s just throw out his name#and Guantanamo is famous for human rights abuses#however I’m annoying
The Day of the Festival / KSM
genre: fluff, slight angst, soulmate!au
requested?: yes (anon)
summary: in which you meet your soulmate at a festival, but only one of you realises
warning: swearing
______________________
“And Seungmin?” the teacher asked, “what do you want to be when you grow up?”
Seungmin hummed for a while, “I want to be an artist!”
“An artist? Of what sort?” she asked.
“Something to do with the world!” Seungmin cried, “and all it’s colours! Like blue and pink and red and purple and—“
“Okay, okay,” Miss Park chuckled, “now Hyelim. What do you want to be Hyelim?”
Seungmin’s plans didn’t change from the ones he’d had when he was only six-years-old.
They didn’t even change when he became connected to his soulmate and his whole world faded into black and white. He could still remembered colours and sometimes he’d enjoy just sitting and staring at the sky, wondering what colour it was.
Sometimes Hyunjin, or Jeongin would tell him. They’d point and say ‘that cloud is light pink’, but as he got older and older, the colours in his memory began to fade and he could no longer remember different shades of blue, or pink, or red, or purple, no matter how hard his friends tried.
___________
“Welcome to Art Cafe, what can I get for you?” you smiled as a boy walked up to the front desk.
“I’ll get the rainbow latte,” the boy said.
He had soft brown hair and was wearing blue overalls with a pink jumper underneath. He looked too cute for his own good.
“Of course, can I take a name?” you asked, getting their recipt.
“Jeongin,” the boy spoke.
“You can wait over there, your drinks will be with you in a second,” you smiled, the boy bowing before walking over to the waiting area.
“Rainbow latte,” you said as you turned around, alerting your shift-mate, Woojin.
Woojin smiled, “of course, our most popular.”
You nodded, “and this time the boy who ordered it actually suits it.”
Woojin peeked round before smiling at the boy on his phone, “Jeongin!”
Jeongin looked up before smiling at the older boy, “Woojin hyung!”
Woojin carried on making the latte as Jeongin waddled over to the counter.
“I didn’t know you had a job hyung,” Jeongin said.
“Eh, I’ve been doing this for a while,” Woojin shrugged, “where’s Hyunjin and Seungmin?”
“Hyunjin’s practising for the dance show and Seungmin didn’t want to come,” Jeongin explained.
“I feel so sorry for him, he’s forgetting what colours look like at this point,” Woojin sighed, “oh sorry, Y/N, this is Jeongin. He’s a first year at my university, we’re doing the same major.”
“Hey Jeongin,” you smiled, “so you sing too?”
Jeongin nodded, chuckling nervously, “but I’m no where as near as good as Woojin hyung.”
You chuckled, “aw, I’m sure you’re good! Don’t put yourself down!”
Jeongin smiled as Woojin handed him his latte.
“So will you be coming to see our performance?” Jeongin asked, taking a sip.
“Performance?” you asked, “ooh are you singing together?”
“Yeah, our university’s holding a concert for the best in each year,” Woojin explained, “me, Jeongin and another boy are in a team together.”
“Sure! When is it?” you asked.
“This Friday, I’ll pick you up,” Woojin said, nudging you.
“Ooh, I’m excited now!” you exclaimed, laughing slightly, “see you then Jeongin.”
Jeongin smiled, heading for the door, “bye noona!”
You blushed, turning to Woojin, “I shouldn’t feel like that from someone calling me noona.”
Woojin laughed, nodding, “he has that affect.”
___________
“Get in—“
“Loser, we’re going to a festival, ha ha,” you said as you got into Woojin’s passenger seat.
“I was actually just going to say get it, but sure,” Woojin chuckled, beginning to drive.
“So, what song are you performing?” you asked, turning your attention from the views out the window to Woojin.
“We’re doing a couple, I guess you’ll just have to wait and see,” Woojin chuckled.
You sighed over-dramatically, making Woojin chuckle. He put his right hand on the steering wheel, making you stare at the name written beautiful across his hand, a gorgeous water drop drawn next to it.
Kim Yena
“How is it?” you asked, not taking your eyes off the mark, “finding your soulmate?”
Woojin let out a breathy laugh, “Y/N, my soulmate connection was never being able to cry. Do you know how many tears I produced the moment I met her?!”
You laughed, “but, what counts as meeting them? Do I have to introduce myself? Is it just standing in the same room?”
“Making eye contact,” Woojin explained, “if your in the same shop or garden area and you make eye contact, you’ve met.”
“What if I made eye contact with them while passing on a bus?” you enquired.
“Yes, but you’d have trouble finding them,” Woojin said.
You nodded, finally looking back up at his face. Woojin was handsome and he was manly, his beard often grew rapidly (seen from the shadow that appeared everyday), and his arms often had veins popping out the side. He was handsome, no doubt, but you couldn’t help but wish your soulmate was more boyish.
“Don’t worry about finding your soulmate Y/N,” Woojin spoke, his voice was calming and you were sure his singing voice was even nicer, “it’ll come in time.”
___________
It came a lot faster then you anticipated.
The sweet sound of Got7 being covered by your two friends and their friend was filling your ears, before your friend grabbed your hand and pulled you over to the ‘make-your-own-flower-crown’ stall. You almost cried.
You stopped, grabbing onto your friend’s arm and stumbling backwards. The sweet smell of the yellow daffodils filling your nose.
“The– I– I’m sorry,” you breathed, walking away and over to the stage where Woojin, Jeongin and Seungmin were finishing up.
“Y/N!” Woojin cheered, “how was it?”
“Jeongin, I need to go now,” Seungmin said, almost running as he left the stage, covering his eyes.
“Min? Seungminnie hyung!” Jeongin called, running after him.
“Me too, Woojin, I– I’ll see you tomorrow,” you said, ignoring his and your friend’s cries of your name as you left the park and sat down, leaning your head against the pole at the bus stop.
You heard heavy breathing as someone sat beside you, resting his head in his hands. You turned your head to see the shaking figure of Seungmin as he sobbed.
“Seu— Seungmin, right?,” you breathed, noticing his sobs.
He breifly lifted his head up to look at you before hiding it again.
“You’re so colourful,” the boy whispered.
“H-Huh?” you asked, furrowing your eyebrows.
“It’s too much!” Seungmin shouted, standing up suddenly, making you flinch at his sudden outburst, “I thought I’d like it but I don’t! I can’t see (your favourite colour)! Why can’t I see y/f/c?! Am I broken?!”
“Seungmin, what are you talking about?” you asked, exasperated.
Seungmin cried out in anger, storming off.
“Fine! I was just trying to help!” you screamed after him, “dick.”
____________
“Morning,” you sighed as Woojin pulled you into a hug.
You breathed in his rich, sweet scent before pulling away and taking your coat off, hanging it in the back room.
“No way! Congratulations!” Woojin smiled, continuing to clean the coffee machine.
“What?” you chuckled, pulling on your apron and tying your hair up.
“You— um– your hand,” Woojin said, stopping his motions as he stared at you, “Y/N, have you not noticed?”
You grabbed your right hand, turning it so you could see your pinky finger and the space leading up to it. There, never seen by your own eyes before:
Kim Seungmin
After the name there was a small rose, and you suddenly realised why you couldn’t smell the roses in the vase at the front of the shop, or the rose flower crown worn by the girl in front of you in the crowd.
It all made sense. Seungmin was so angry that he couldn’t see y/f/c and now you knew why he couldn’t see it. He wasn’t broken. He was your soulmate and yet, neither of you were in love with the other.
“Woo-Woojin I have to go,” you breathed, ripping your apron off and heading for the door of the coffee shop.
The door bell rang and you groaned, before seeing who it was.
There, breathless, was Kim Seungmin.
He said nothing, but he walked towards you and grabbed your hand, showing you his at the same time before pulling you into a hug. Your name was written in your favourite colour on his left hand, leading up his pinky finger.
“I’m sorry for being a dick yesterday,” he said sheepishly as he pulled away, “I– I just... we have the same favourite colour and I just wanted to see it again.”
You smiled, “it’s okay Seungmin. But, you’re not going to be able to see it until I fall in love with you.”
Seungmin blushed, “oh– oh yeah. Well, I guess in that case.”
“Y/N, don’t you room with a boy?” Woojin interjected, but became less excited upon seeing Seungmin’s glare, “sorry.”
You giggled, “he’s my cousin, but yeah, I do.”
The two of you looked towards Woojin who looked between you expectantly.
“I guess I can ask him if he would move in with Jeongin so Seungmin can come and live with me?” you offered, “that way we can get to know each other better, and maybe one day I’ll smell roses again!”
Seungmin smiled, nodding slightly, “I like that idea, Y/N. You’re so smart.”
You giggled, taking Seungmin’s hand, “I already like you Kim.”
Seungmin bit his lip, “so how much longer until I start seeing y/f/c?”
You chuckled, shaking your head, “come on, don’t get too cocky. I bet I’ll smell roses by tomorrow morning.”
Seungmin shook his head, chuckling as you let go of his hand and pulled your apron back over his head, “what a hypocrite. I cannot believe my soulmate is a hypocrite.”
“Get used to it!” Yena shouted from the kitchen.
Woojin’s face became confused in an instant as you and Seungmin laughed, “hey!”
The Field Trip ~ KSM [Request]
WORD COUNT: 4.2K
PAIRING: Teacher Seungmin x Teacher!Reader
GENRE: fluffy, teacher AU, filedtrip AU, awkward Seungmin, cute seungmin
A/N: I hope you enjoy this! I think cute teacher Seungmin would be adorable!! @nightalight
The class you were trying to calm down were all talking amongst themselves, too excited to listen to anything you were trying to tell them. You couldn't blame them for the exciting field trip that was going to start today. It was something everyone had been looking forward to for the longest time so you couldn't be mad at them for being this enthusiastic about something that was finally happening.
"Hey guys, come on...Just because it's a trip doesn't mean we can speak over Miss Y/l/n," You glanced over at the door to see your colleague Mr Kim Seungmin standing there, he must have been walking past when he noticed you struggling to get the groups attention. Normally they were one of the most behaved groups in the school but today it was as if they could no longer contain their energy for the trip ahead and had to let it out one way or not another. The class turned to look at Seungmin and stopped talking when they noticed what he was wearing, it was strange to them to see their teachers out of their normal school attire. Instead of the usual suit that he would be sporting, he was in some sweats and a hoodie since the bus ride that you were going to be on was almost two hours long. You'd chosen to come along in your sweats and a hoodie as well since you didn't want to spend the ride uncomfortable, most of the kids had dressed up fancy despite being told about the long drive and that the first night there would be a quiet night in to get used to their sleeping arrangements.
The whole of your first-grade students was going on a week-long trip to Gyeongju-si as a small incentive for being such good students that had been excellent in the school year. Those who had disciplinary records or were in trouble throughout the year weren't allowed on the trip and were to stay behind with the other grades. Of course, it wasn't just you and Seungmin that would be leading the school trip, it would be far too much to handle for just the two of you. There were a team of teachers going along with all 56 students including you, Seungmin, English teacher Bang Chan, Science teacher Felix, headteacher Minho, IT teacher Hyunjin, Music teacher Changbin, Art teacher Jisung and form tutor Jeongin along with a couple of other PA's that were able to help out. All of the teachers knew each other very well and got along, it was one of the conditions you had of going on the trip. You wanted to make sure the teachers were able to get along well with one another as well as looking after the students in an appropriate manner, knowing when to draw the line at certain things they would be doing. People that could be trusted with the children aged 15-17 and knew how to care for them and discipline them appropriately if needed.
"Thanks, Mr Kim. Now I know you guys are excited but there are rules to go over for on the bus and for when we arrive at Gyeongju-Si, buddy systems are in place so you're always with a friend," The kids watched you as you spoke to them all, giving them information on when you would take a break on the bus ride and what buddy sytem there was in plcae. They were also watching the way that Seungmin was watching you, smirking to ofe another as they saw the familar creep of a blush coming onto his cheeks and the sparkle he got in his eyes whenever you spoke to a class. They would be blind if they didn't see the crush you and Mr Kim had on one another but neither of you would do anything about it. Too scared to think about it and decided to stay friends with one another, no matter how much chemistry you shared.
"Teachers will be around at all times if you need us, you'll each have a number to contact us on over the course pf the trip..." The more you went on the more you could see the interest of the trip leave their eyes but it wasn't all bad so you decided to give them the good news while you had their attention.
"Those who are old enough do get to go on their own for a while but those who aren't will be assigned, teachers...Please be mindful," You looked at Seungmin to see if he had anything to add but he had been staring at you with a slight blush on his cheeks, he always got like that around you. The two of you had been friends for years but it didn't stop him from having a large crush on you and got nervous whenever you spoke to him or stood too close. Teachers and students all saw the way you acted around one another, the chemistry you shared it was hard to ignore it when it was right in your face all of the time. A couple of the teachers even had bets on when Seungmin would finally ask you out on a date or when you would finally cave and ask him out.
"Anything to add?" You nudged him and he cleared his throat, standing up in front of the class and trying to think of something he could say to them as they mumbled to one another glancing at the two of you as they spoke about how this could be the trip that made you come together as a couple.
"This trip isn't educational, you won't have to take notes...It's a nice break for all of you to enjoy! So remember that but also remember you are representing the school so act respectful to those around you and be on your best behaviour... think Miss Y/l/n covered it all...Have fun!" The kids cheered before going back to their previous conversations with one another, talking amongst themselves about what they were looking forward to most while on the trip. The whole thing had been in planning since the start of their academic year and they'd been looking forward to it since.
"Are you excited?" Seungmin questioned as he walked over to your side, you were double-checking your bags again to make sure you had everything and more that you were going to need.
"Very, there's a walk I really want to go on...You should come too, I think you'd love it." You smiled at him as you thought about everything you'd been researching in the lead up to the trip,
"If you're still into photography you could bring your camera along, it's beautiful," You were so lost in a conversation with one another you had noticed that some of the students were watching you together. A couple of the girls smiling in 'awe" at the way Seungmin was watching you closely, hanging on to every word you were saying to him.
"When I get older, I want someone to look at me like that...Pay attention to my interests like that," One of the popular girls said loudly enough for you to hear, a blush crept onto Seungmin who smiled nervously at you.
"I'd love to, I brought my camera and plenty of batteries...It'll be nice," He smiled at you and as you were about to say something else the door opened and Minho appeared with a smile on his face,
"The busses are here, let's all go! Make sure you have everything packed! We won't be coming back!" He yelled as he ran down the hall to inform the next lot of students while you and Seungmin got your class ready to head out to the busses.
After the long road trip it was a relief to finally arrive at the hotel you would be staying in with all of the kids,
"Make sure you check in with Mr Hwang, he'll be the one giving you your room keys! Boys you're on the fifth floor and girls are with Miss Y/l/n on the tenth!" Chan yelled out as groups of children ran towards the hotel, carrying their bags and yelling out in excitement about who they were going to sharing rooms with.
"You are in luck, me and Felix have the first night of rounds so you have a free night to yourself," Jisung said as he came over to you, you were trying to get your bag off the bus when he pulled it out for you. Raising his eyebrows to see if you'd heard what he said to you,
"Cool...I think Seungmin and I are going to go to the Wolji Pond, I've been wanting to go and I figured he'd want to go for a photography opportunity," Jisung scoffed at you and you frowned at him,
"Of course, "photography" is what Seungmin is going for and why you invited him...Y/n...I'm not stupid," He nudged your arm but you frowned even more wondering what he was talking about,
"Come on. We've been talking about him the whole journey, you can't stop thinking about him...Even on our weekends out you're always thinking about him. Tell me this is just some elaborate plan to finally ask him out or get some alone time with him." You gasped at Jisung as you slapped his arm in a playful manner, looking around to make sure none of the children was in earshot or that Seungmin himself didn't hear since he was less than a couple of people away from you.
"Shut up," You hissed under your breath, dragging Jisung over to the back of the bus before groaning and hiding your face in your hands. The thought of being alone in such a romantic setting with Seungmin hadn't even occurred to you until Jisung planted the seed in your mind, now all you could think about was walking hand in hand with Seungmin around the pond. Talking with one another about everything and anything that would come to your minds it was something you both could do easily with one another. There was a certain comfort that you gave to one another that let the other one know you were free to talk about anything you wanted, that and you had so much in common it was like hanging around with someone you'd known your entire life.
"It's not a date, it's nothing like that...We're just-"
"Going out. Alone. On a romantic walk, together....Okay, sure, whatever you need to tell yourself to get through it." Jisung smirked at you before walking away leaving you to overthink everything while you stared down at the gravel floor. The whole journey you and Jisung had been speaking about what you had planned for the trip, and it seemed as though all of the teachers had baned together to make sure you and Seungmin were always working alongside one another. They were. They were sick of the two of you always too scared to make something happen and they were going to do it for themselves even if it took them the whole of the trip or longer.
"You okay?" You jumped when you heard Seungmin suddenly talking to you and he smiled at you,
"Y-Yeah, just getting lost in my own thoughts." You laughed, looking over at him with a nervous smile before glancing down at your phone trying to come up with some excuse to get away from him. Now that Jisung had put the idea of going on a date with Seungmin that night into your head you couldn't contain yourself. The butterflies in your stomach were getting harder to control and the way your head span whenever you would lock eyes with Seungmin was sending you crazy.
"I'm going to go and lay down," You mumbled trying to leave without making eye contact with him but Seungmin called your name out,
"I'll meet you in the lobby tonight," You nodded at him, glancing at his hand that was wrapped around your wrist, you couldn't help but feel a spark come from the spot his hand was laying. Seungmin smiled as he saw a flicker of a smile on your cheeks and he let go of you, watching after you as Jisung came to his side.
"Big date night, you looking forward to it?" Seungmin turned to look at the older friend of his and frowned,
"Date? I didn't ask her out...We're just going for a walk." Jisung wrapped his arms around Seungmin while shaking his head and tutting loudly,
"Seungmin, Seungmin, Seungmin...You have much to learn about women and dates. Y/n clearly asked you to go with her because she's into you and you're into her...What's the big deal?" Seungmin's heart raced at the thought of you liking him back, he'd had a large crush on you for years but he never would have thought you would ever return the feelings for him.
"She did? Why wouldn't she just ask me out on a date then...She didn't need to hide it," He sighed as he and Jisung walked in the direction of the hotel, ignoring the rest of the teachers around them as Jisung filled him with dating advice.
"She was probably nervous, I mean she won't even admit it's a date but it is...We all know she's crazy about you Seungmin...She's told me a million times," Seungmin blushed deeply as he glanced over at you getting your key-card from the reception desk, he smiled when he saw you feeling his stomach began to grow and he couldn't help but feel hopeful for your date that wasn't really a date later that night,
"I'm going to go get ready," He mumbled before sprinting off away from Jisung and heading up wot his room while Jisung smirked at himself proud of what he was doing. If it was down to him to make you guys finally take that first step then he was going to do everything in his power to make it happen that night.
Seungmin stood anxiously waiting for you in the lobby, it was pitch black outside and the night workers were switching onto their shift.
"Do you need help, Sir?" One of the managers asked and as Seungmin was about to ask the manager to call your room number the door to the elevators opened and heard some students talking loudly while complimenting someone and he glanced over to see you standing between two of the 17-year-old girls in his class.
"Miss, you look amazing. There's no way Mr Kim will be able to keep his eyes off you," Seungmin blushed at the mention of his name and you glanced over at him, your body freezing in place as you felt shy in front of him. A warm feeling spread all over the back of your neck and your face as you tried not to look visibly embarrassed, failing miserably as you knew your body was trembling and you were swallowing a lump in your throat that wasn't even there. Your shoulders curled forward as you walked over to him, waving goodbye to the girls who had been complimenting you on the ride down from your floor.
"You look...Whoa," Seungmin complimented as you joined him by his side, you were dressed in a black and blue floral-ankle skirt dress with long sleeves. It had a v-neck with a chiffon material and it looked pretty on you, it made your eyes pop and your skin look stunning under the dim hotel lighting.
"Whoa?" You giggled softly hoping for some kind of explanation as to what "whoa" meant but it was all Seungmin could manage to say as he continued to stare at you lost in your eyes.
"I-I mean...You look whoa all of the time but tonight it's just...Whoa," He breathed out again, it was as if he'd been lost in a brain fog and he was finding it difficult to produce real words other than "whoa" to describe the way you looked.
"Beautiful, he means beautiful." The night manager winked before sitting down behind his desk and beginning his work. The room fell into an awkward silence so you pointed at his camera,
"Shall we?" You questioned and he nodded, walking towards the exit with you while he tried to think of sentences he could say. It was as if everything had suddenly left his brain and he couldn't remember how to make basic conversation.
"Jisung said that you wanted to ask me something," You and Seungmin were standing in one of the Gazebos around the pond, you'd been walking together for an hour just having a casual conversation about your hopes and plans for the trip. After the awkward encounter in the lobby everything seemed to calm down on the walk, Seungmin snapped photos of everything around you and you spoke about anything that came to your minds.
"He did?" Seungmin's voice cracked as he glanced over at you, your back was to him as you looked over the railing of the pond with your hands on the railing he couldn't help but snap a picture. The low lighting in the gazebo and the stars made it look perfect,
"Did you take a photo?" You giggled gliding over to his side to look over his shoulder at the image he had snapped of you to see yourself on most of the photographs from that night.
"Whoa," You repeated what he had said earlier in the night and he chuckled softly.
"Here...This is my favourite, you were leaning down to look at the ducks," He flicked through some images and found one of you sitting on a patch of grass beside a small area of the pond. You were so lost in the night you'd barely heard the camera shutter going off but in the image, you were looking at the ducks and ducklings all sleeping happily,
"Cute, look they look so peaceful," You smiled happily glancing up at Seungmin who was already staring down at you. His eyes flickered between your eyes and your lips, debating with himself if he should finally take his chance and kiss you in the romantic night you were having.
Bending down he leant closer to you until your lips were almost touching, your eyes fluttered shut and your heart raced from being this close to him. It was finally going to happen after all this time. That was until there was the sound of giggling students coming from before you, you broke away licking your lips as you stared at the floor.
"Shouldn't you be in your rooms, there's a curfew," Seungmin grumbled as he stared over at some of the students that had interrupted your moment together.
"Shouldn't you take Miss Y/l/n on a real date before you kiss her!" They yelled before running away from you and Seungmin as he blushed deeply and you felt your body curl up in embarrassment.
"I'll...I-I'll walk you back," Seungmin mumbled as you both headed back in the direction of the hotel.
It was the final day of the trip and the almost-kiss between you and Seungmin was never spoken about again, it was never brought up and the two of you stuck to conversation topics surrounding school life instead of your private ones.
"So close, yet so far," Jisung grumbled as he threw some food to the ducks as he watched you and Seungmin taking some of the younger students around Gyeongju Craft village, wanting to make sure everyone had a chance to buy something on their last day.
"I heard if it wasn't for the two girls in Y/n's class they would have kissed," Chan mumbled as he sat down beside Jisung, handing him some of the food he had in his bag.
"They were on a date, it was going so well and then they ruined it by laughing at them as they almost kissed." Jisung pouted as if it was him being mad at drama actors in a show he was watching instead of real human's.
"You can't blame them Jisung...If Seungmin and Y/n are meant to be then it will happen eventually...We can't force it," Jisung rolled his eyes not wanting to listen to Chan acting, wise about everything so he laid down against the grass and stared up at the clouds.
"Hey look, this looks like Mr Kim and Miss Y/l/n," Your ears picked up your name and you glanced over at a group of students gathered around a wood crafting shop, you slowly made your way over to see a wooden couple crafted together. It looked so close to you and Seungmin and you felt your stomach flip, the lady figure was wearing a dress similar to yours from that night and the male had a camera in his hands as they walked together hand in hand.
"Miss, you should buy it! It's so cute!" One of your students said as they glanced up at you, pointing at the figure as she asked how much it was but you heard Seungmin coming over and panicked. Your body going into fight or flight mode you left, going over to Jisung who was asleep on the grass. Black glasses were drawn on his face in permanent marker which made you giggle as you saw it.
"Jisung, this is your fault...You said it was a date, we almost kissed and now it's all weird between us...I hate you." You grumbled to his sleeping body knowing that once he was out of it he was out of it for a while, it was like trying to get blood from a rock whilst trying to wake him up.
"Y/n?" You looked up over your shoulder to see Seungmin holding a bag in his hand with a shy smile on his face,
"Can I talk to you? Over there..." He nodded over at the cherry blossom trees and you got up from the grass and brushed yourself off,
"Sure." You whispered following him over before standing up the tree together. The two of you stared at one another not noticing that everyone had turned to look at you, watching you from afar to see what would happen between you.
"I got something and I wanted to talk to you about the other night...It's been on my mind all week but I never knew how to bring it up," He scratched the back of his neck nervously before handing you the small gift bag with a shy smile.
"Open it first," He instructed as he watched you anxiously, you pulled the bag open to see the wooden figures inside, your names were written on the bottom of them and Seungmin blushed.
"The lady that crafted it saw us that night...I asked how she knew our names but she wouldn't tell me...I think the kids told her." He chuckled softly and you smiled running your hands over the small figures before looking back up at Seungmin,
"I'm sorry I was so awkward and never brought it up again...I was...I didn't want to make things weird between us and in all honesty, I've been so nervous to ask you out that when Jisung said it was a date I jumped on the chance." You frowned hearing that Jisung told him he was a date and you shook your head,
"J-Jisung convinced me it was a date, I was too nervous to ask you out," You laughed softly as you stared at one another, realising that neither of you had asked the other out and that it had been a set up by Jisung.
"I'm sorry...I-I really shouldn't have tried to kiss you then, I mean if you're not interested in me like that-"
"Who said I wasn't interested in you like that?" You whispered, taking his hand in yours so that he couldn't walk away from you like he was attempting to do. A blush crept on his face spreading over his ears until he looked as red as the roses that were growing nearby.
"Well...I-I mean...I just meant-" You cut him off by kissing him suddenly. You no longer wanted to be worried or nervous about kissing him. It had been eating you up inside and you just wanted to get it over with before you chickened out of it all over again. In that moment the kiss was filled with sweetness and passion, Seungmin wrapped his arms around your body pulling you closer to him to deepen the kiss between you and smiled against your lips. It felt as though you were at home with the smallest of kisses, the chemistry between you became a huge ever-glowing flame that nobody would be able to put out. That was until-
"Who had bets on the trip being the reason they finally kissed?!" Jisung's voice rang out above everything around you, ripping into the moment the two of you were sharing together. You bit down on your lip as you and Seungmin rested your heads on one another, laughing at one another softly as you glanced in Jisung's direction who was collecting money from the teachers and students.
"Should we tell them all he cheated?" Seungmin questioned as he linked his hands with yours, you shook your head.
"Nah, we can just bully him into buying us food with the money or we'll tell everyone," You promised him, leaning up to kiss him once more before leaving him to go and join the others who were all smirking and cracking jokes at the pair of you already.
I feel like with He is Psychometric, I can’t really gather my thoughts well. The underlying story connecting the events from 2005 and 2016 and now is still in its infancy so it’s too easy and too hard to make any sort of judgement, but I’ll try.
Lee An is proof of the saying, ‘the saddest people often smile the widest’. Especially what we now know about his childhood even after his parents' death. Ridiculed and outcast, An could be a very bitter person, but he’s not. He’s bright and welcoming but also hurting. He wants to be loved, to not be left behind, and I don’t think he even realises it. And also, I don’t really know Park Jin Young, other than the few dramas I’ve watched and he’s been in them and the odd GOT7 interviews I’ve watched on YT, but I really love how he’s so able to portray the multifaceted sides of An. He’s got a magnetising sort of presence where your mood changes with his. In a drama like this where the concept is a bit more out there, you need an actor in the main role who can make it realistic. Is Psychometry real? Not that I know of, but in this world, I believe 100% that it’s real.
Yoon Jae In? We stan a queen. I really liked the choice in An’s dream for Jae In to fill in that stereotypically masculine role. He curls his fists on his thighs, she leans over and holds his hand and ‘initates’ their ‘kiss’. It says a lot about how An perceives her. Strong. Capable. Bold. And he was willing to be taken in by that current. But the thing of it is. She isn’t. Not all the time. Suffering from panic attacks, Jae In is so realistic, trying to balance logic with emotion. When she almost gets acid thrown in her face, she puts up a good front, but her hand still shakes. She’s trying to rule her heart because she’s not ready to deal with all of her emotions. In this respect, An is the total opposite of her. Highly emotional, hotheaded, so they need each other to complete each other, which I like. I think her final message before she runs away is so poignant and beautiful. An would have understood, but even in the short time they’ve known each other, Jae In respects An enough to leave him a message, to thank him for all he did for her. To let him in behind her walls (he gave her strength) because they connected, through their secrets that they tried to hide and the emotions that were slowly becoming intertwined. Yes, more of this, please. (Lowkey, highkey can’t wait to see them get closer again as adults.)
Speaking of adults: Kang Sung Mo is the most secretive piece on the board in terms of our ‘heroes’. An is completely blind when it comes to him. I’m assuming there is a reason for that. Maybe it’s because he was the one that saved him? I also think that it still remains true that An can’t read his brother. He saw ‘a girl’ (which we know to be Jae In) with him, but I think that’s more that An is connected to Jae In, that he sees more clearly things that are relevant to her rather than any sort of exposure of his brother. However, KSM’s interest in Jae In from the start makes me wonder if KSM is using An and has been from the start. An is the only one who can find out what happened back then, so he’s done everything he can to make it so that An gets stronger. Down to the very deduction that Jae In is the one An wants to be psychometric for/practice psychometry on. He’s put her very directly into his brother’s path with the knowledge of who she is and what that might mean to An. I think more importantly here is the probable betrayal An will feel if/when he finds out he’s being used.
Do I think KSM is a bad guy? No. *spoilers* He’s trying to find out what happened to his mother. An’s parents died very much because of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, KSM’s mother was murdered (one of the stabbed victims prior to the fire being set).
I’m going to stop here before this becomes 10 paragraphs long, but this just my first/initial conclusions.
What is your happiest memory? (All verses)
Random Asks | Accepting
Main Verse: "I have several, easy to pick from since a majority of my life isn't exactly....happy. Wenwu taking me in for one, knowing from that moment one I had a place. It was what I wanted after everything....um, being given the blade is another. Wenwu trusted me with that and it was the first time that has happened for me." Most everything involved finally having a father, something he couldn't help because in the end it was all he had wanted growing up. Wenwu hd provided that for a boy living on his own on the street. But he wasn't the only thing that had given him happiness when he least expected it. "Yelena...anything with her really could be counted as a happy memory."
Boxer Verse: "My happiest memory?" He lets a small smile tug at his lips before scratching at the side of his bearded face. "Even if I tied and didn't win, I would say having my father Costin finally care for me. Though we didn't win, I suppose that's what was needed for him to come around. Him finally saying he was proud of me." He shrugged as his hand lifted again to scratch at the back of his head. "I gained a father that day. So that is my happiest memory."
Mafia Verse: "Easy, the day I met Yelena and eventually married her. Well, and when we had our son and eventually daughter. My happiest memories come from her considering everything in my line of work is rather dark. Of course there were moments that were happy but the happiest? It's my family." Andrei easily answered as arms crossed over his chest as if to nail in his answer to show how serious he was about it. Nothing else came close to those moments and he was sure nothing would surpass them.
Knight Verse: "Becoming a knight, after being a boy on the street who grew up with nothing?" He half questioned, more of a rhetorical one before he let himself continue. "It was everything. Of course it was done because I gained a father but I never thought I'd be there and yet I am a fearsome knight, trusted to carry the crest of Wenwu into battle. I couldn't ask for anything more."
Supernatural Verse: "I don't know if I exactly have one..." Andrei answered as gaze fell and a hand lifted to run over his bearded chin. "Maybe the day I controlled what I am..well as best I could. Maybe when my father started to teach me boxing." A shrug to show indifference, no smile. "I don't exactly have a lot of great moments."
Modern/Soldier Verse: "Umm." The larger figure lifted a finger to tap against his lower lip for a brief moment. It wasn't that he had a lot to pick from just more if it could count. It did to him so eventually he lowered his hand crossed his arms over his chest. "The day I was able to sign up for the KSM. I found a family there and a direction, one I'm very good at so that then. Or when I officially passed the training to say I was one."
Chapter 5
OSW FOCUS
Right before he was going to step in, he hears another girl approaching and goes back to his hiding spot and sees Somi walk up. The girls greet each other and start gossiping again. “ I still can't believe someone that handsome goes out with that piece of garbage,” said girl 1.
“ I know right she’s so ugly and he’s so handsome, ugh I wish I did more to her, for she can regret destroying my dreams,” said Somi. Seongwu heard everything and decided to do something about it.
“ hi guys!” Seongwu says approaching them.
“ hi!” “ hi Seongwu!” said the other girls
“ hi!’ said Somi twirling her hair.
“ I was actually wondering, how did you guys find out about me dating Soomin?” he asked curiously.
“ well we saw you guys talk to each other more often, as well as you would wait for her at the front of the school, so that clearly gave it away,” said one of the girls.
“ oh okay, um well I just wanted to let you guys know that we are still dating and if I ever hear any of you guys saying shit about her, you’ll regret it, but hey this is just a warning!” said Seongwu as calmly as possible.
“ and what if I don’t, she doesn't deserve you, I do, I’m way more prettier than her as well as I can give you all the attention you need,” said Somi.
“ you see, I don’t need a desperate girl like you that isnneedy and childish so no thank you,” said Seongwo,” plus Soomin is better looking than you by the way.” Seongwu walked away before she could say anything.
KSM FOCUS
Soomin eyes start to open and her family notices. “ Soomin?” her mom asks. Soomin slowly opens her eyes and sees her family around her.
“ why am I here?” Soomin asked.
“ your here because bad people did things to you and you weren’t able to move but now you are all better,” said Soomin mom.
Soomin quickly noticed the bandages around her arms but didn’t want to move incase it would hurt. She wanted to cry but didn’t, she knew her parents would worry more so she didn’t. She saw the flowers on the table and asked her cousin to smell them, while smelling them she saw a note and hid it. The nurses come in to change the bandages and her parents go and get coffee. She looks at the note and starts to tear up. The nurse looks at the note then at Soomin.
“ he came in running, out of breath and sweaty,” said the nurse
“ you saw him?” Soomin asked wiping a tear off her face.
“ yes, I saw the whole thing go down,” she said as she continued wrapping her hands.
“ he walked up and said hello im looking for Park Soomins room, do know what number it is? He looked like a lost little kid,” she said putting materials away.
Soomin was paying vivid attention to the nurse.
“ while the nurse told him that it was only visitation for family, he looked guilty of something, I couldn't put two and two together so I couldn’t figure it out. When he was writing the note I did notice.....” said the nurse while Soomin looked down at the note which she was holding with both hands.
