18. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

that she kinda likes attention lol, i’ve written her as an awkward shy person because she grew up in a temple but i’m working on a fic now about how she feels as the chosen of god gale and how she misses being worshipped now that she’s the one doing the worshipping

19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?

she knows how to restore old books which was one of her jobs at the temple pre tadpole! i thought a books related job would give her something cute in common with gale lol

tag game: 8 shows to get to know me

I swear, it's like when someone asks what music you like and your mind goes completely blank despite playing Spotify 6 hours a day. ☠️

1) The Office. I know it's basic but I'm a filthy millennial. I've seen all episodes at least 10 times (I say "seen" but a lot of the repeats are just on in the background while I study, work, etc). It's my comfort show and it never gets old. Michael is unbearable in season 1 but grows on me every single time.

2) Andor. It's the answer to "what if star wars was actually good?" Tony Gilroy did a fantastic job of telling a Story first and a Star Wars second and I hope to god that there isn't too much executive meddling in season 2. My BF will sometimes work in "can't swim" statements or jokes in random conversations to mess with me and it devastates me every time. REST IN PEACE KINO.

3) You (Netflix original). Joe is an absolutely chilling and unhinged main character and I recommend this show to everybody as a disturbing ride into the obsessive stalker behavior of the former Gossip Girl.

5) Prison Break (PARTICULARLY season 1). Disclaimer: I have not seen the sequel/reboot thing? But I absolutely love the first season of this show, the pacing is great and they set the stakes high in episode like, 2, by cutting the main character's toe off with garden shears. No one is safe. It's ballsy and I like it.

6) The Handmaid's Tale. Is it torture porn at this point? Yeah, kinda. But as someone who was forced to grow up in an AWFUL extremely fundamentalist, white supremacist, socially isolated, pro forced birth, pro sexual control and abuse, christofascist environment (religious homeschool k-12 baybeeeeyyyy) that literally wants a world like that (hi dad!), it hits home for me. It's been very cathartic to watch, personally.

7) Justice League (2001) and Justice League Unlimited (2004). I swear these changed my brain chemistry when I watched them as a kid. Jon Stewart is my favorite Green Lantern of all time.

8) The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I love how irreverent the main characters are, and I am super jealous of Miriam's incredible NYC apartment.

forever thinking about royal’s bad ending. my thing with it is that maruki doesn’t necessarily give anyone what they want most, he gives them what’s most appropriate for them to want within a maruki-approved framework. iirc there’s a really interesting text sequence in the game where he just straight up changes someone’s career because they’re not “good” at it, regardless of whether that’s what they actually want. why struggle at all? ever? right?

and so ultimately i don’t think goro akechi’s greatest wish is necessarily ren. i think it’s a wish for sure, but his greatest wish is his own agency. despite any regrets he has and the fact that shido and yaldabaoth treated him like a pawn, he's generally pretty adamant about owning his choices and their consequences. he doesn't want that erased. and instead, you end up with pleasant boy™ if you take maruki’s deal. maybe maruki (incorrectly) thinks sanding off all of akechi’s rough edges will make him easier for ren to love. but the crux of it is really that maruki has to essentially lobotomize him to preserve the illusion of his perfect reality, because their ideologies are so diametrically opposed that akechi would spend every waking moment fighting back.

this isn’t to undermine ren’s importance to akechi btw — he explicitly acknowledges that he wishes they had met earlier, and there are countless moments throughout their confidant that underscore how much it means to him that they mirror each other so well. he absolutely does want more time with ren, just not under these circumstances.

and that’s also what makes ren’s choice on 2/2 doubly devastating. he knows that either way he loses akechi. and if he takes maruki’s deal, he loses him knowing that his last moments with the real akechi involved the two of them being unforgivably out of sync.

I love that Ghost is just a character in a video game. That's all he is. Ghost is literally just a character in a video game and yet every single person I have ever met that plays Destiny, loves their Ghost like he's real.

Like he's actually a part of us like he is to our Guardians.

Because in a way, he is.

The emotional bond we formed with him is real.

Everyone I know that I have talked to about the end of The Final Shape, admitted to crying over Ghost. (Even my friends that I would say are more emotionally shut off). From my New Light friends to my Veteran friends that have been playing since Beta.

Ghost is just a character in a video game and Bungie managed to make a character that we feel is a part of us like they are to our character.

Nolan North put the emotion, the love, the humor,the concern,the compassion needed into the voice lines over the course of two games to get us attached to Ghost.

The writing team at Bungie, gave life to a little robot shell full of life, where if you were like me, loved him from day 1.

Every time Ghost has ever referenced how long he spent looking for me (My Guardian) or where he found me, I've gotten emotional. So when I got to that part in the the Cosmodrome in The Final Shape, not gonna lie, I got a little teary eyed. That was where it all began.

I'm his and he is mine.

My little guy. My little buddy for life.

He's just a fictional character.

But he's so much more than that.

I know no one at Bungie will ever read this, and I'm ok with that, but I just want to thank them for creating Ghost. I want to thank Nolan North for bringing him to life with his voice.

Now if you excuse me, I have to go hug my Ghost and then go on some adventures with him. ❤️♠️

- i like to think they would go to the movies. but be extremely obnoxious

- cal would kick the seats in front of him and throw popcorn. andre would be not-so-quietly telling him to stop

- they like to go to arcades. andre likes to play pacman and cal likes street fighter2

- dont let these two in a restaurant alone. pepper and salt all over the floor (wether by accident or not), andre would send his food back 10 times because it had something on it he didnt like, and cal would tip the waiters like 2$

- MALLS.

- cal and andre would shop for hours at the mall

- cal would steal little shit from each store, shoving it in his pocket. andre wouldnt notice until cal fished in his pocket in the car and pulled out like 5 pins and 3 little mini figures

- andre would model clothes he wanted to buy. would always walk out of the dressing room asking "cal do i look ok"

- they both like swimming except they refuse to go to public pools so they opt for a lake

- andre screamed like a girl when a fish brushed up against him

- cal got scared thinking there was some kind of water snake so he scrambled onto land

- they cant handle themselves in public.
