How long have you known you were plural?

hoo boy.... i've sorta "known" for maybe (looks at calendar) 8 years? but sorta also like I've "always" known, too?

I didn't really count myself as plural "enough to use the word" until 2021/22. as of this post that's ~3 years of being open about it after 5 years of denial spent in therapy revolving around OSDD + integration due to cptsd. IFS helped me work through early stuff like identifying when they would switch & the idea of no bad parts, but I know opinions vary on IFS re:dissociative disorders.

when I came out as trans all those years ago it was a similar experience: not really counting my own validity for the first handful of years because I didn't think I checked "enough of the boxes" to ask loved ones to re-contexualize how they understood me. then when coming out as trans did Not go smoothly (there were a lot of instances of people trying to bait me into intersex validity fights) I... did not bother to share details about my multiplicity lol. it felt like publicly admitting to plurality would make people "gotcha" me about my genderflux/fluidity and shifting relationship to my own sexuality.

without getting into any literal trauma, my icon ruff was the first character I drew as a 4/5 year old. since that age I'd been drawing shapes and thinking "that's this part, that's that part, all of this happened to this shape, all of this applies to this shape, this shape is friends with person, this shape never leaves the house," etc. all of these lights have their origins in hardship so it always felt like if I went into Any detail, it's already "too much" ykno? even now drawing my lights as critters & anthros feels like a few more degrees of distance than raw shape abstractions, which I think has made it easier to be open n actually talk about. something something mortifying ordeal of being known.

saturdays are when you thrive. going out with all your college friends was just tradition at this point.

sitting at the bar in between anna and courtney, you complain about another failed date you had recently.

“ugh, he was just the worst! he was talking about his podcast the whole time, and then asked me to go back to his place? what do men expect me to say after that. ‘oh yes you talking about your alpha male, gym, i hate women podcast really made me so attracted to you’ like come on!” you turn to anna who’s laughing at you, with a sad stare, and she then is quick to put a hand on your shoulder.

“it’s okay! im sure you’ll find your man soon. isn’t court trying to set you up with that guy from her work?” she says to you, cocking her head to the side slightly.

courtney then chimes in, “yes! oh my gosh, her and spencer are literally perfect for each other! you need to meet him soon, you’ll love him!” she says with a wide smile.

“i mean, he is pretty cute…” you trail off.

courtney had been trying to set you and her friend spencer up for weeks now, and as she continued to gush about how spencer would appreciate your nerdiness and how you would adore his, you feel a tug of curiosity. ignoring the conversation for a moment, you make your way to the old street fighter arcade machine at the end of the bar. the familiar sounds of the game fill your ears as you slip a coin into the slot, your fingers itching to take control of your favorite character - ryu.

as you focus on the game, your mind drifts to the idea of meeting spencer. would he really be as perfect for you as courtney says? The thought lingers in your mind a bit as you unleash a flurry of moves on the joystick, losing yourself in the focus.

as you're deeply engrossed in the game, spencer enters the bar, scanning the room for courtney. spotting her animatedly chatting with anna, he makes his way over, a small smile playing on his lips. courtney notices him approaching and waves him over eagerly.

"hey, spencer! glad you could make it," she greets him with enthusiasm, nudging anna to make space for him between them.

"hey, court, thanks for inviting me!" spencer replies, returning her smile. his eyes then wander around the bar, landing on you as you fiercely battle your way through the arcade game.

courtney follows his gaze and grins mischievously. "oh, hey, look who's here! it's the girl i've been telling you about," she says, motioning towards you.

spencer's interest piques, and he watches you play for a moment, impressed by your technique. he can't help but notice how focused you are, your determination evident in every move you make. with a newfound curiosity, he watches in awe as you skillfully defeat everyone you fight with ease.

“hey…” you whip your head around and stand up straight from your practically bent over pose, as you hear courtney’s voice from behind you.

there, stood next to her, is possibly the most attractive man you’d ever seen.

he’s got beautiful brown eyes, and dark curly hair. with glasses. oh my. he’s dressed in slacks, tattered old vans, a flannel, and an old work jacket.

“um, hi court.” is all you can muster up to say to her.

“this is spencer, spencer this is the woman of your dreams!” she giggles.

spencer glares at her, but then smiles sincerely at you.

“so, street fighter, huh? you've got some serious skills," spencer remarked, impressed by your gameplay.

you glanced over at him, offering a small smile in return. "thanks! it's one of my favorite games. i've been playing since i was a kid. i think it’s one of the main reasons i decided to be a game developer."

courtney takes this opportunity to slip away from you both, leaving you to geek out together, and she rushes over to anna

“i told you! twenty bucks says they leave together!” she grins.

“you are so on!” anna replies.

across the bar, you and spencer are chatting it up, both leant against the wall near the machine.

spencer takes a sip of his drink before leaning in. "so, who's your main in street fighter?"

you grin, a rush of excitement at the chance to talk about your favorite character. "call me basic, but definitely ryu! i love his playstyle, and his hadoukens! they’re pretty gnarly."

"classic choice," spencer replied with a nod of approval. "i’m more of a ken guy myself. gotta respect the fiery spirit, you know?"

you giggle, nodding in agreement. "yeah, ken's cool. those shoryukens can really mess up the game though.”

he smiles at your reply, and the conversation flows on. you find yourself talking to him for the better part of an hour, eventually sitting at the bar with him.

“um, you don’t have to say yes,” he says, turning to you. “but, would you want to come back to my place?”

you smile at him, and tuck a strand of hair behind your ear “i’d like that.”

and so, you find yourself walking back to spencer’s apartment and talking to him about how much you love zelda.

stepping into his apartment, you’re immediately greeted by an array of nerdy decorations that cover every corner. posters of classic video game characters lined the walls, and shelves filled with action figures and memorabilia from various fandoms.

"wow, you have quite the collection!" you exclaimed, taking in the sight with wide eyes.

spencer chuckles nervously with a sheepish smile, scratching the back of his head. "yeah, i might have gone a little overboard."

but to you, it’s like stepping into a treasure trove of nostalgia, and honestly? you were jealous. you eagerly made your way around the room, pointing out your favorite pieces and telling him about the games and shows you loved most.

"that's a limited edition link figurine, right?" you ask, pointing to a display on one of the shelves.

spencer nodded, a hint of pride in his voice. "yeah, it's one of my prized possessions! i also have a few special edition zelda figures."

as you continue to explore, spencer watches you with a mixture of awe and admiration. he had never met someone who shared his passion for all things nerdy quite like you did. It felt surreal to have someone in his space who not only appreciated but genuinely enjoyed his interests.

before long, the initial awkwardness of the invitation fades away, replaced by a comfortable ease as you bond over your shared love for video games, movies, and everything in between.

the night continues, and you end up making him watch your favourite film - perfect blue, which you watch in comfortable silence.

as the credits roll, you stretch out comfortably on spencer's couch, feeling the pleasant weight of sleep pulling at your eyelids. the movie is intense, and you’re exhausted from the day's excitement.

spencer glances over at you, a soft smile playing on his lips as he noticed your drooping eyelids. he gently reached for the remote and turned off the playstation you were using to watch it, casting the room into a soothing darkness.

"you tired?" he asks, his voice low and gentle.

you nod sleepily, snuggling into the cushions. "yeah, it's been a long day. sorry for almost falling asleep on you."

spencer chuckles softly, shaking his head. "don't apologize. it's actually kind of nice having someone to watch movies with, even if they fall asleep halfway through."

you smile, feeling a warmth spread through your chest at his words. despite only meeting him tonight, you already feel a sense of comfort in his presence.

with a contented sigh, you let yourself drift off, the steady rhythm of spencer's heartbeat beneath you lulling you into a peaceful slumber.

later that night, as you sleep soundly against him, spencer can’t resist taking a picture of you, your peaceful expression illuminated by the soft glow of the tv’s ‘no signal’ screen. he texts it to courtney with a simple message: "she isn't too bad."

as he presses send, a smile tuggs at the corners of his lips.

courtney opens the message to see your face, her jaw dropping. she closes the messages from spencer, and immediatley texts anna,

But he still thinks he has no chance w/ Oswin, so he flirts with Zhan (without moving on 😭). Hello Anon-dear! If your ask is a bit long to read-that's fine, if it's long to answer, that's where I'll need to pause for the time being. That's where I get hung up and distracted, lol. I'm still taking those too, it's still Friday somewhere, lol.

To answer your question, it will absolutely be possible to romance someone without flirting. The "flirt" options are passively tracked just so I can program certain flirty responses that will be directed back to the MC by those ROs (it's a way for me to track if it's okay with reader/MC so I'm not directing like super suggestive come-ons towards them that aren't okay).

I absolutely love how you're going to play your MC. That's part of the reason I wanted to do things this way. The way I play my MCs sometimes makes flirting almost out of character for them, but of course I'd want the romance, lol.

Your MC will be free to flirt and do some other things with Zahn (they are all kinds of okay with that, lol) and then lock-in with Oswin later - no flirting required.

Zahn will be totally fine if your MC doesn't end up with them. They and Duri are both good with physical-only and flirty relationships. Your MC will make selections as they go about how they feel about each potential suitor, and the hook-up ROs will have a selection that you can choose if this is just for fun or if it's got some feelings attached (whether your MC is fully aware or not). [Lucky for your MC, I added a light spicey scene for Zahn in chapter 3 if they so choose] :D

If Oswin is aware of relations between the MC and others, he's going to feel a little strange about it and be concerned (for MC's well-being because he cannot help himself, lol). Mainly, things like that aren't his bag, but he also knows that for many people physical and romantic relationships can be separate. He's more concerned with having his lover's heart above all else, so ultimately he will be okay with it. For MCs that have been involved with the hook-ups, particularly the ROs, Oswin may have a harder time digesting that the MC is choosing him to remain with. (He may feel that the connection between the MC and Zahn/Duri was deeper and never considered that the MC would ever go for him). It will be an interesting conversation for sure (one that the programming for is already frightening me, lol).

So, I'm pretty sure the post isn't about drastically different takes on characters/canon divergence - it's about the fact that the Hetalia tag has a lot of posts that not only hate on the canon, but shame/mock ANYONE who enjoys the source material in any way. I'm pretty sure when OP said "silly yaoi show," it's not meant as "how dare anyone make serious content," but rather "liking canon is not that deep, so please stop berating fans" (afaik you don't do this, I am not blaming you, but there are a few prominent fan artists who do).

was she truly capable of killing you? years, many long years… you debated whether getting yourself killed by a demon slayer or trying to kill douma, the current upper rank two; all to set your tormented soul free.

you studied her for a few moments, before taking a few steps back. “i wonder now, how many people have you killed?” she asked you, confusing you. “why does it matter?” you said, glancing at her tiny figure. “because you’ll receive the punishment you deserve and be reborn! all to give justice to your victims,” she explained.

you thought about her words for a moment, before deciding to try to reason with her.

“i want to give my victims justice, they deserve that, but i want justice too…” you tried, hoping you were convincing enough. after all, why should a demon slayer trust the words of a demon? “my dear, justice? what kind of justice are you seeking?” shinobu asked with a smile on her face, making you notice that she had been smiling the whole time.

“i know you don’t trust my words!” you assured her, regretting it right after the words left your mouth. “a demon from the twelve kizuki turned me, a long time ago… he forced me to eat my whole family, stating that he would have kept me alive only if i obeyed him.”

you told shinobu your story, you weren’t trying to convince her with futile details, you didn’t wanted her to feel compassion, you just wanted her to understand that you wanted to end your life just as much as a demon slayer desires to kill a demon.

shinobu listened very carefully to your words. your description of the demon who turned you made her lost her composure. it was him. the exact same demon who took kanae away from her.

the tension was clear, but shinobu seemed to have lost interest in killing you. on the contrary, she was focused on thinking about getting revenge on douma too.

she silently decided to trust you, going against everything she believed and respected with her whole self. going against the rules and shinobu kocho in the same sentence? unbelievable! but that was it, shinobu was trusting a demon for the first time in her life.

shinobu organised everything, and she did an amazing job actually. she wasn’t the strongest above the hashiras, but she did knew what she was doing and was the smartest person you have ever met. you admired her.

“i want you to kill me with that poison you spoke about,” you said while watching her work. “oh? i see, you still want to die,” was she sad about your wish? “you’re helping me and i truly appreciate it, i know this is as important as it is for me. we’re here to put an end to this story, but i don’t want to be a demon for the rest of my life. i seek peace and that only death will satisfy my desire.”

shinobu listened to you and nodded slowly, letting your words sink in. during these months, you two bonded more than expected from her. you grew to trust each others and you both were mainly focused on one objective: douma.

after all, shinobu succeeded in trusting and befriending a demon. it even surprised tomioka, alongside everyone else in the demon slayer corps.

there was something stronger between you two, something that was probably above the simple friendship but neither of you decided to focus on it.

and whatever was growing between you two came to an abrupt stop when she died, by the hands of none other than douma himself. shinobu tried to prepare both you and her tsukugo, kanao, to the possibility of her getting killed in order to make sure you’d be able to defeat douma.

thanks to another demon slayer, inosuke hashibira, you and kanao killed douma. you finally got your revenge, you were finally free. all the anger, the pain, the emptiness you have felt until that day was finally gone, but it was replaced by a strange feeling of sadness; something that you never experienced during your existence as a demon.

you and shinobu got revenge, but the one who truly deserved to live was the one who lost her life. and that was, without doubt, a cruel joke. that was the main reason why you didn’t wait to drink the special poison shinobu made for you. you couldn’t wait longer, you had to disappear from that world.

kanao was by your side the whole time, you noticed that she was crying for the first time since you had known her. you smiled at her for the last time. “go on with your life and make the most of it… do it for shinobu and kanae,” you muttered, starting to disappear and turn into dust.

you had a vision. no, they were flashbacks from your past, from your human life. you were laughing and enjoying your day with your family, all happily together… when a familiar voice called your name. you turned around and saw a figure, then you smiled once you recognised it was shinobu. she ran to you and hugged you, holding you close to her. your arms circled her petite figure and just then you noticed you were wetting her haori with your tears. you were crying.

“thank you, y/n! we did it,” she smiled, truly happy for the first time in a while, and you were too. happiness suited her beautifully.

Most of my friends either had longer than average (in my country) degrees or finished out degrees late. I also spent a year getting a master's in a field I ended up not caring about, and spent another year on another master's and yet another doing nothing (well I was studying for a different thing, which I'm still doing now alongside working part-time as a teacher), and I'll probs get another degree or master's once I land a more secure job. Even tho idk when I'll manage to land a full time position as a teacher and I have friends who won't finish studying until they are 30, and my brother couldn't even finish his bachelor's yet (at 30) because of mental illness. Another of my friends started a PhD, left it after a year and has now started a different one. I know people who got a PhD at 50, I used to be classmates with a woman starting her first degree at 27, and another getting her second at 40 smth. Anxiety doesn't listen to reason, as another anon said, but point is, you're not late to anything, and despite what most of us are lead to believe, there isn't a 'true' schedule when it comes to studying or joining the work force. When it comes to a challenge they compete constantly to have Idia but the minute sum random guy walks up to him and starts flirting/ harassing/assaulting Idia they will work together and act quickly to protect the beautiful prize and eliminate the unwanted pest. Then when they finished they will either comfort Idia or fck him. I would tell u the challenges those 2 would set for eachother but that would take make hours to finish so let me not-

Anon Anon! Sorry for replying so late, I am so happy that you enjoyed the other reply and that you love Shroudcest and want to talk about it more! This is truly delightful. Even though it is unfortunate that you can only discuss it with us and no one else :( If you’re still here (it did take me a long time to reply, after all), please feel free to send more asks. We are happy that you like our opinions and that more people are considering Shroudcest as a fun ship and Ortho as a proper character and not just a pure and untouchable mascot of sorts.

Your perception of interactions between robo!Ortho and human!Ortho are very fun; frankly, I can see these two competing “for sport”, so to speak. Like you said, if there was anyone to give Idia any type of negative (or flirty…) attention, they would work together to eliminate the unwanted pest. But when they are alone and everything is fine, they could either challenge each other to see who’s more fitting for the prize or just to mess with Idia: they know that the idea of his little brothers fighting over him while declaring loudly that they are fighting for the right to kiss him/be with him/do other things with him would be absolutely murderous for Idia. He would get super embarrassed, and Orthox2 love it when he gets all red and stuff.

But also, both of them are very intense, so even when they are legitimately competing, Idia is the main victim of the event. The attention in general + the stimulation (if things get physical and all…) is too unfairly strong for this weak little hikki boy…

I almost hate how much i switched teams from 2718 to abacus, but its just bc he's new and shiny and pretty and pushy. He stifles autonomy so i know 2817 is better in the long run bc u can reason w him and he puts mcs best interests first. Abacus gives me the kind of vibe that he'd let mc get hurt so long as shes his, and tbh i feel like he might enjoy it? Like he'd like to fix her up and *accidentally* press a lil too hard into her wounds wheras 2718 would just use his abilities so that she wont feel the pain to begin w. That's just my assumption tho given what we've seen. Abacus seem the type to only use his powers thingy to subdue reader.

We know that 2718 has met readers past forms/reincarnation w.e u call it and i originally thought abacus did too. Maybe he was her affair or lover in a previous reincarnation methinks? I just felt like he knows her before. This changed a bit towards the end when they were walkin thru the streets while he was giving her the endoscopy (😮‍💨💦) and we learned just how badly mc is seen. Now im starting to wonder if aba is just greedy n wanted her as his lil disabled spouse genuinely, no past relation. Idk. I still feel like they know each other previously. And now I work as a part of a research team in a cancer unit! I study bone and blood cancers which is super cool! And I’ve had 0 toes fall of in my hand 😎

Hell, if the damn fic ends with them kissing for the first time… really as long as i can feel the love and want and all the feelings, i could not give less of a fuck, if the characters end up in bed together.

Some of the best fics ive read had relationships that ended with the characters completely devoted to eachother, both in love, massive tension between them and there was not a single drop of nswf in the entire story. There wasnt even a damn kiss.

Like i said, i understand that ppl like the entertainment of smut and i see that a lotta ppl enjoy writing it. super cool, super great. what i found out for myself is that i value mostly everything else in a story. espesh when a story can make me feel stuff, without it being shown through physical things the characters do. i think creating smth that pulls readers in like that, is an art in itself.

1) for the yandere series and it's routes, the ideas pretty much came from what i prefer from yanderes cuz i read ALOTTT of yandere fics for many years alrd lol, but most of them never rlly satisfies my own imagination for yanderes but that's okay! also i added some of my personal traits/interests for the plot. but if we have to be a bit specific for a single route, specifically route 1: then the inspirations mainly came from my awful past, and second -> the anime mirai nikki for the ideas of texting + phone. route 2 is like an outlet for my artistic side, plus jungwon is my muse so it all blends perfectly.

2) i can't seem to guess why u said jake when i haven't mention him anywhere in the teasers or the first episode T_T do u mean jay tho? but to answer the next question, i have to say that the entire story for my queen is a little complex and vast, and there are multiples route for each event that i haven't decided which one to go through yet. but for now, i can probably say yes.

3) well, for MC's backstory.. the first episode might be able to suffice your curiosity enough because there will be a glimpse of her past before she became a succubus. but what i can say for now is that of course, it ends on a tragic note. but it's also the reason why she became so powerful in the end anyways.
