"Open it." For my boy Josh (prompt for the five sentence fic!)

"Open it."

It isn't a request.

It's a dare. An ice-cold threat that freezes Josh to the spot. He stands paralyzed, his clammy palm welded to the doorknob. Josh's sorry life flashes before his bloodshot eyes, and his freedom taunts him from the other side of the unlocked door. It calls him, it pulls him like a magnet.

Josh wants to live, and not just survive. He wants his life back. His simple, mundane life. He'd give anything and everything to blend back into the world and fade into the background.

"Go on, Joshy. See what happens the second you open that door." Felix stalks closer but Josh doesn't face him. He can't face him. With his puffy, tear-stained cheeks and deer-in-headlight eyes. Josh's ears prick up at the sound of slow footsteps coming to a stop just over his shoulder.

"You know I'd catch you, don't you, honey?" Felix half purrs, half growls. Josh's thumping heart falls to the pit of his stomach. "God have mercy on you, I'd hunt you down like a wild animal. And when I finally find you...?"

Josh physically cringes and shrivels up as Felix nibbles at Josh's neck and kisses the dip of his collarbone. Felix slowly reaches around to place his hand on top of Josh's shaking one, on the door handle, and pulls it away.

"I'd snap your legs like twigs," Felix whispers in Josh's ear. "I would just love you bed-bound. It would be my dream come true, baby... the things I'd do to you..."

Josh hears Felix actually lick his lips and his gut suddenly twists. Josh thought his life was already a fate worse than death...somehow, it can get worse. He spins around to face Felix, eyes blown wide and sparkling - his lip wobbling like a small child.

It's a risk he's not willing to take. Any foolish bravery suddenly dissolves and his fight or flight suddenly switches off. Josh just feels empty.

He collapses into Felix's arms in a slump. His body rockets with sobs as Felix cradles him and smoothes the jet-black hair over his scalp.

"Sweet boy," Felix mumurs dotingly, "sweet, confused little boy. You know you belong with me, don't you?"

Josh nods miserably into Felix's chest.

"I'm the only one who knows you inside and out, who will take care of your every want and need. You'll never leave me, baby-blue."

I have made no secret that I am not a fan of '80s fashion on this blog; but once again, ya'll really out here trying to prove me wrong huh?

I imagine Antoine to always be involved in the music scene of his era, so his style is influenced by the rise of hip-hop in the 1980s, especially on the West Coast of California. And in an era of bright colors, ain’t no way my boy wouldn’t choose the gaudiest of the bunch.

First question, are you entierly MDNI? I read through your pinned and from my unerstanding it's just the things labeled MDNI/18+ (Please correct me if I'm wrong as I do not want to make you uncomfortable in any way!!)

But I have been reading to many fantasy books and such, and I am just wondering what you would think the CoD Ghosts would have as a power if it was a fantasy world (not totally fantasy everything is the same excpet humans have one power thats significant to that person)

Here are the powers I think the Ghosts would have

Hesh- sight/premonition. he’d go bonkers fucking insane if this were the case, but imagine him being like “wait…I’m getting a vision” yea that fucks lol. super handy when the world is ending

Logan- telepathy/mind reading. He doesn’t speak, so he can just read people’s minds and maybe they can read his back

Elias- shapeshifting. I can’t really explain this lol I just think it fits him for some reason. c’mon chameleonnnn

Merrick- aquatic respiration. idk he’s a navy seal I think he should be able to breath underwater. he’d also enjoy it just because I said so

Keegan- invisibility. he’s practically a shadow already, super good at hiding, may as well take it a step further

Kick- electrokinesis. i think that’d be fun. he is (mostly hc’d to be) very intelligent when it comes to technology, let him control electricity

Ajax- resurrection…need I say more 🪦 he can die however many times, but he can bring himself right back

Rorke- superhuman strength. kind of like with Keegan, take an ability he already has a great deal of (bro is fucking jacked) and tune it to 1000%

YESSSS thank you for asking! This is kind of an old WIP that has been newly resurrected- it's technically the second (and long overdue) segment of a larger story, Ortolan, which explores a spawn Tav's descent into madness. The idea of this segment (and the snippet below) is that Tav, newly a vampire, grows progressively disturbed by the changes she sees in Astarion- she laments the man she knew while still attempting to hide her melancholy, which she knows bores him.

Meanwhile, Astarion decides that her problem is just that she hasn't leaned in to their new life, and one of the ways he will make her lean in is to teach her how to hunt. He's been feeding her himself until now, and he thinks it's spoiled her. It goes well enough until it doesn't, and Tav finds herself stalking a quarry she's ill-equipped to deal with. (Snippet below the cut, if you like! 💕)

“I can hear your thoughts rattling,” he scowls, annoyed, whenever she dwells on the crypt– the poor souls that had paid for this, the thousands of teeth left below. “You must let this go, my darling. They are dead, and we are not– and I thought that was what you wanted.”

“It was,” she insists, before correcting herself. “It is.” 

Only one of them is ever convinced.

She learns to bury her questions like seeds into soil, like nightblooms that thrive in the dark, but they creep out and up and through her, all their vines left too untended, until she swears she feels them coil around her insides, squeezing tight.

And then, Astarion hates the quiet near as much as he hates the questions, and it isn’t long before he’s had enough. 

He comes to her at sundown, wearing something fine and black. “We’re going out,” he says in a soft command, and she can't shake the uneasy feeling of being compelled. “We’re going hunting.”

— How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?

As soon as Heather was off to college and free of her catholic childhood home and overbearing parents she made a pact with herself to try everything once and she just so happened to figure out she really enjoyed being with other women as well as men. (If she had to split hairs and admit a preference it definitelyleans towards women)

She was too self absorbed to ever really ponder her sexuality before that, she always just assumed everyone was into her and she'd give the time of day to whoever she felt like suited her at the time. (Somehow that became John?? Like girl??)

— How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?

Heather wholeheartedly does not even think about labels until it benefits her, if she can drum up a sympathy card or manipulate someone into defending her by using hers than she'll do that. It's not a source of comfort or strength in identity for her, it really is just not something she thinks about. She doesn't care about what other people are doing in general and even less so when it comes to what they label themselves, unless it helps her get what she wants she does not care.

— Is your oc open about their identity? Are they more lowkey or more blunt about it? Why or why not?

Heather is probably the most open about her sexuality compared to literally any other aspect of herself. She doesn't see it as a defining feature of herself and she doesn't feel the need to protect or hide it from anyone. She enjoys being in control and having it as common knowledge and not something that can be used against her is important to her in a way too though.

— How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?

Lola was one of those cases where she'd watch the disney princesses when she was little and imagine herself in their flowy gowns and getting whisked away by a handsome prince. She'd try on her mother's clothes and makeup and always made better friends with girls at school. She didn't really figure it out until mid high school when a friend came out and she stayed up researching and eventually cried into her pillow because she found a word that made everything finally make sense. That friend also ended up being the first person she came out to beside her big brother.

— How does your oc feel about labels? Theirs, or in general?

Lola is very label proud considering she lost everything to have hers, she will wear her flags and pronoun pins proudly and she's not afraid to brawl bigots over it. She is also a defender of everyone else who wants to be open about their labels, she doesn't care what it is she will defend them to the death. As far as she's concerned everyone deserves to have whatever helps makes themself comfortable and happy in themselves, their identity and their community. (She also defends people's rights not to be labelled <3)

— Is your oc open about their identity? Are they more lowkey or more blunt about it? Why or why not?

Very open! She doesn't go shouting it in strangers faces unprovoked (provoked however and they should watch out—) but she's not hiding anything in any way. If people spend time with her at one point parts of her identity will casually be brought up and if another person happens to mention their own identity then a great ramble-a-thon will begin because Lola loves hearing about other people's experiences and journeys! (The joy-splosion that happened when she and Dean met and realised there was another trans person in Hope County. It was beautiful and alol confusing for everyone else who didn't realise the two sem-stealth deputies were trans.)

She's honestly just at a point where she's comfortable in her identity and her ability to protect herself if need be so she doesn't see the need to hide big parts of her away. Life's too short and she plans to live it the fullest.
