okay so my like favorite favorites are the essays parrotgel leaves on my fics because... i love when people point out the specific things they enjoyed in a story, but also because they specifically have been reading since the 2019 version so its just kind of crazy to know that they are... still here, still reading, years later, and still care about it enough to leave such long and loving comments

Oh the one labeled scunklo! That's Sharma Ansari- He actually does have a more finalized design than the one on the scribble sheet.

He's a real pathetic dude. The sort who's just kind of stumbling through life. Definitely not a good person yet but also not as awful as he might have once been. He does a lot of altruistic things, but I wouldn't attribute those to a genuine desire to help others as much as that he thinks being a good samaritan offers him some inherent value as an individual that he would otherwise lack.

What's a piece of lore you haven't shown in your fic or don't think you'll be able to add in?

okay i was going to be vague about it like i was here mostly because everything that doesn't make it into the fic lore-wise is kept out of it for a very specific reason (i be cooking + honestly i think some things are better left unexplained or up for interpretation) but i just realized one i can say is. timmy's heritage. where he's from, what his species is/isn't capable of, that sort of thing. there was supposed to be a good amount of talk about it in ch16 but i didn't keep it because it just didn't really fit. it's not necessarily important to the story. twtt isn't about him </3 don't tell him that though or he'll start crying

There are two ways to make Pomni and Caine be at their most intimate without "compromising" their "friendship" status with each other:

Amidst a battle/sparing session;

and drinking.

Which is funny, because both options are supposed to be unhealthy by human nature standards, yet this is possible because they are at their most free and genuine selves in this state, when otherwise their idiotic brains would continue to deny that there is something between them.

Sparring for Pomni (especially with Caine) helps clear her mind momentarily of the stress of the rather overpowering directive pressuring her into doing more and more brutal fights, while drinking for Caine helps him slip into his old, more cheerful ways.

Of course, you can't deny that this is STILL an unhealthy coping mechanism, at the end of the day. Which is why as the story progresses, these terrible coping methods slowly go away as they become better versions of their initial selves, and recover from their rather immature ways of dealing with their issues, with the help of one another's presence.

This is why I've made jokes about Caine taking away Pomni's sword, or Pomni limiting Caine's alcohol intake. It's not that obvious, but it's actually an integral part of their character arcs :)
