you don't know how much comfort your dragon king bkg drabble has given me ever since you posted it!! i keep reading it i love it sm 🥹
as it turns out, the man bakugou is — a bit harder to handle.
he sleeps like a heathen; you once thought the dragon bakugou to be a bit lazy, with how often he tended to curl up in the fields of grass, warm under the sun, but now — it would seem his little human form needs significantly less rest.
almost up all hours of the day, and when he does finally lay down, he's everywhere. a mess of limbs: one thrown carelessly out to the side and the other bent at an angle you can't believe doesn't hurt his joints. his head stays tucked into you somehow, either buried in your neck or pressed against your ribs — or you'll wake to find him nose-to-nose with you. he still snores like a dragon, however.
you're also beginning to wonder if there is a bottom to the pit of his stomach. he ate much before, whole fields of things, but you expected that appetite to dwindle, at least a little, now that his stomach has decreased considerably in size. and in number ? you're not even sure how many stomachs a dragon has; that's not something that was mentioned in the fairytales.
it burns through him quickly, gives him more energy than he needs, and it doesn't ever seem to affect his weight much. already, he's huge and thick with muscle and eating as much as he does never dulls the severity of his cut abdomen. not that you're looking all that much.
— not that you have a choice not to, as he seems to have little-to-no understanding of —
the door to the bathhouse kicks open, with enough force that you already know who it is without ever turning to look. you try not to shriek when you see him, because he seems to like that in some evil, impish way.
you've been alone to wash so far, thankfully, as the inn you'd managed to find was small and far enough out from the nearest kingdom that the occupancy was low — enough for you and your little brute.
the man bakugou comes to stand in front of the bath, blinking and huffing against the steam. finding clothes for him was — nearly impossible, and so the trousers you'd found hanging on someone's line outside fit above his ankles, a bit too tight around his waist. instead of a shirt, you've wrapped him in a scratchy linen, swaddled him up like a baby to cover the small smattering of scales that decorate his body, almost like freckles from the sun, though they gleam just as bright and red as they ever have. no matter his form.
a horn has started to sprout, on the right side of his forehead, and you've done your best to cover that, too.
you have no idea how long this man thing will last. if it's permanent or if he even has control over it. the last thing you need is for him to switch back, somehow, while you're in the middle of feeding him, absolutely demolishing whatever tavern you're in and calling all of king todoroki's guards to attention.
bakugou grunts, almost sleepy, and tosses a fat, weighty sack onto the edge of the bath. it jingles a certain jingle that makes your heart stop.
"oh, allfather—" you move for the edge, awkwardly keeping one arm against your chest despite the fact that he's seen it all by now. when you peek inside and confirm your fears, you lob it back to him furiously, as if it were a steaming potato. "where do you keep getting this stuff?"
things have started to turn up, miraculously. shiny things — like coins and rings and gems. things he could not have simply found rolling around in the dirt.
"go put it back!" you hiss at him, and the tone of your voice makes his frown deepen. you never realized how pouty he was, when he was still a dragon.
you think he understands you, and you're pretty certain he just chooses not to listen; instead of doing what you've told him in the slightest, he simply dumps the coin-purse to the floor, and then lets his linen and stolen trousers cover it as he unceremoniously undresses.
the biggest issue that you would say the man bakugou poses is — his complete lack of understanding of personal space.
"bakugou!" your voice wavers, shocked again by his nakedness. as if you haven't seen it all by now. "no, you — get out!"
but he does the exact opposite, which is hop into the steaming water, ignoring the arm you hold out to keep him away as he saddles up beside you. skin against scales, pressing a nose into your hair to huff out his annoyance, to make it something you can feel.
if anyone were to walk in right now, they would — probably think the lie you'd told the innkeeper was true. that you are a simple traveler and this is your mute, over-sized husband.
regardless, you think this behavior isn't polite. especially in a public bathhouse.
"bakugou," you try again, turning your face away as you speak to the wood-paneled wall. "i'm taking a bath, you have to wait your turn."
all you receive in response is another huff against your ear and a low rumble of disagreement from his chest.
he has yet to speak back, and has only used inhuman sounds as his points of conversation. the only word you've ever heard him utter is oi, which he does when he really thinks he needs your attention. you're starting to wonder if he's named you that in his head. oi.
curiously, you turn back to him and the movement has him pulling his face from your hair, just enough that he can look down at you, too. watch you, with the red-rippled sea in his eyes.
they're — amazing, you will admit. just as bright and detailed as they always have been. fit for a fairytale told by the fire, veiled by the soft-ash of his lashes. he watches you through them, half-lidded, and you wonder if it's something other than fatigue that has them so heavy.
"do you know what i'm saying?" you ask quietly, voice lacking the firm heat you want it to. instead it's heavy, too, weighted by something soft and unfamiliar and frightening. "can you even understand me?"
bakugou doesn't respond, not with a huff or a rumble or ever a purr, like the one he let out on the night he lay over you by the lake. you've only heard it sparingly since then, oftentimes in his sleep when his face is pressed into you.
you try not to frown at his silence, try not to let it disappoint you because it shouldn't; he's a dragon afterall, and you're not sure what it matters. the little horn protruding from his forehead catches your eye and you reach up to touch it gently, watching him blink away the water that drips from your wrist — and then he's turning into you again, too close.
beneath the water, you feel his hands skate up your bare thighs, wrap around your waist until your chest is pulled flush against his. you feel his huff, again, against the damp skin of your neck but it's slower, lighter. not laced with his frustration. some unknown thing you feel guilty for liking.
you drop your hand to his hair, rushing full force into all the damned things you've thought about doing but have been too afraid to. he's soft between your fingers, and you trace your nails lightly against his scalp until he groans quietly; a new noise, one you don't know how to translate.
your fingers stop when they brush upon little spines that have grown at the base of his skull, that have started to trail down the center of his back.
suddenly, tangled up in the bath with him, you wonder how much time you have left.
bakugou huffs again into your skin, a little fiercer this time, and it's because of his light jostling that you realize how rigid you've gone. you try to relax so that he will, too, though you must not do a convincing job, because a sharp nip comes to your earlobe.
"ow!" you squeal, but he doesn't let you go far, not even as you try to jerk away from him. in fact, the harder you try the more his teeth show: into your cheek and the point of your jaw and then dangerously low on your neck.
it's not until you finally freeze that he stops, huffing again, with a warmth that burns more than the steaming water.
and then, very quietly, he grumbles, "shitty wife," into your collarbone, just before biting you again.

I know this may sound crazy but remember how in No Way Out, Sonic told Nine that he still considered him to be a friend while getting down on one knee and Nine calmed down? Later in Nine’s Lives, Nine says “Typical” when seeing Sonic run to the others and accused Sonic of betraying him when Sonic called the others his friends.
Nine was sort of acting like Sonic proposed to him and then cheated on him by being friends with the others.
Okay so first of all, I don't think you're crazy. During S3 there's actually plenty of evidence that Nine is jealous, both of the Tails variants and Sonic considering everyone else his friends.
One example that presents his specific kind of jealousy is during Episode 2 of Season 3, when Nine first appears to Sonic in New Yoke.
"Everything is collapsing... This is terrible!"
"Is it? That seems odd coming from you. As far as I can tell you only care about your own home."
Essentially what I'm getting at is this. I do believe that pre betrayal, Nine admittedly considered Sonic to be the most important person to him, and thought Sonic may have felt the same way. And the "betrayal" at the end of S2 hurt Nine very deeply. He had this image of Sonic in his head that was shattered by the finale, so he sort of instinctively switches to thinking the worst about Sonic because he can't trust that anything he thought before wasn't a lie. This is one of the reasons that he can't fathom Sonic caring about shatterspaces other than his own home.
But it's not just that he can't fathom it, it's that due to this deep hurt, Nine cannot allow himself to believe it.
Because if Sonic genuinely cares about the shatterverse as a whole, if he genuinely cares about saving all of these people, then to Nine, what made him the exception?
Sure, we the audience can see Sonic’s journey in Prime. We can see that by the end of S2, Sonic wanted to keep the shatterverse safe just as much as he wanted to bring back Green Hill. He wanted everyone to be alive and happy. But from Nine's pov here, he's just learned that Sonic lied to him, spoke honeyed words and manipulated him just to get to the prism. None of that is true, but he doesn't feel like Sonic actually cares for him or wants him. So at this point, for Sonic to put saving all of these people over saving his own home or genuinely worrying about their home makes Nine feel like the exception or that his feelings about Sonic must be wrong. Either one of those ideas he'd understandably like to avoid (because one means that Sonic is genuine with everyone except for him, and the other would mean to him that his feeling of betrayal and hurt feelings post S2 finale are misplaced and not allowed to be had, though he feels justified feeling hurt)
And that scene in S3 E3 No Escape is actually another big exemplifier of Nine's brand of jealousy and just how hurt he is.
"Don't worry. Beneath the surface, my new friends are far simpler than the flawed creatures you knew and loved. And all the more loyal for it."
Starting out strong, Nine takes a not so subtle shot at Sonic's friends while taking subtler shot at Sonic's loyalty, since Sonic had been his first and only friend.
"Ever wonder where we'd be if things had gone differently between us?"
"...Not anymore."
"I do. All the time."
"Not anymore." Implying that post the S2 finale he really had dwelled (at least for a time) on thoughts of how things could have been different. How he wished things could have gone differently.
And Nine gets visibly angry/frustrated when Sonic confesses he's always thinking about how things could have been different. Perhaps because it feels like a slap to the face, or feels hard to believe.
"Tch. You had your chance."
"...Right back at ya, bud."
And then, despite his anger, despite how he's been trying to get Sonic all along so he can drain his energy and save his home, Nine ignores Sonic's "should we get this over with". He puts on another one of those faces, similar to earlier when Sonic arrived and Nine talked about his "new friends". Perhaps to cover up exactly the way he's feeling in this moment with a veneer of superiority (he always did something similar when talking up Sonic to the Chaos Council).
"You know...after all this time...I think I finally understand you, Sonic."
...
"You wanna save everyone. Friends. Foes. Total strangers! You say it's because you're a hero and that's what heroes do, but deep down... After what you did—destroying your own home—it's the only way you can ever live with yourself. Even if that means you won't live at all."
And while I think Nine isn't incorrect—that there is a part of Prime!Sonic who's been acting out of selfishness, caring more about feeling like a good person than actually being one—these are still words from someone who feels betrayed by Sonic. I think there's a level to which Nine is seeing a part of Sonic no one else did, and also to a level which Nine is trying to recontextualize Sonic's more heroic/selfless seeming actions so he can reconcile them with how he feels about Sonic and sees him at this moment. In other words, while he's seeing a facet of Sonic he didn't see before, this is not all encompassing of who Prime Sonic is. It's just that perhaps by believing that Sonic's every seemingly selfless action is disingenuine, that all those nice words and intent to save people is just so Sonic can feel good rather that actually caring about anyone, then Nine doesn’t have to feel like the exception. Then he can see Sonic as someone who is pretending to care about all of this, and Sonic's other friends as fools who don't see what he (Nine) has seen.
But as I said, it's more complicated than that. Perhaps Nine is seeing a facet of Sonic that other people don't see or don't want to see, but Prime!Sonic is multifaceted. Perhaps he does want to hurry up and sacrifice himself in this scene because then he can finally feel like he's atoned for what he's done and he's absolved of/paid for his crimes, but that also doesn't mean he doesn't genuinely care about the lives of people in the shatterverse.
"If I don't make it, and you do, how do I know you'll keep your promise."
"Don't worry. Your 'friends' are safe. Once I have your energy, I can restore everything. They can have their silly lives in their silly spaces, as long as they leave me alone."
"Fair enough."
...
"And for what it's worth...I wouldda done the same for you."
"Don't lie to me..."
"I'm not–"
"DON'T!"
"Think whatever you want, but it's true. Even after everything you've done, everything we've been through. Together. Against each other. You're still my friend, Nine."
I really couldn't express more just how hurt Nine feels. That he doesn't believe Sonic would give anything up for him, even if he were to accept that Sonic would do that for everyone else. When he tells Sonic not to lie to him, frustrated, angry, voice wavering, I think it's because he can't take this again. If Sonic is lying just to manipulate him, if this isn't genuine, if he's just using him again, he can't take it again.
This is an incredibly intimate scene. With Sonic, standing face to face to Nine, inside Nine's safe space, his home that no one else has been into, behind the physical representation of the walls surrounding Nine's heart post betrayal, this is his first time all season really being allowed to speak to Nine directly. Here there's no one to perform to aside from each other.
But you can see that despite everything, Sonic still reaches Nine in this scene. It's not easy, but he reaches Nine's heart, leading Nine to start to believe in him again.
And that's why it's a pity the other variants show up when they do, using Sonic to breach Nine's walls. With the way Nine reacts after this happens, Sonic may as well have made Nine believe in that image of him again. Sonic may as well have made Nine believe that Sonic does care about him, that he'd do anything for him (or, at least, would give his life for him like he would for the others if it meant they could live), only to be the trojan horse that allowed the enemy™ to breach his safe space. The pretty lie.
At the beginning of S3 E4 Nine's Lives, Nine says "Predictable" when Sonic runs over to his friends. And, as anon mentioned, Nine says that Sonic has betrayed him for the last time, calling the deal off.
I wouldn't necessarily say here that Nine feels as if Sonic had cheated on him so to speak, but I would say that even if Nine doesn't see Sonic as a willing "trojan horse" here, Nine still feels like a fool for "falling for it again", for believing in Sonic. I think it's enough betrayal to Nine that Sonic would convince him that he cares about him and wants him to have a future too, only to then side with a bunch of people who want to beat Nine down and who would not let Nine be happy if Nine surrendered to them (from Nine's pov at least).
So in short, anon, I think you are seeing Nine's jealousy here. Even if he also has to believe Sonic is secretly fooling the others, to him this is a scene where Sonic is not only choosing them over him, but another example of Sonic (from Nine's pov) proving that he's a liar who doesn't care for Nine or his future/safety at all.
#sonic the hedgehog#sonic prime#sonine#nine the fox#nine sonic prime#miles nine prower#sonic prime s3#sonic prime s3 spoilers#anon interview#i just be ramblin#long post#I just want to note also that Nine also calls the deal off because the other variants become aggressors in this situation. He told Sonic in#the deal that he'd leave everyone else to their devices as long as they left him alone‚ but then right after this those same 'friends'#breach Nine's walls of safety‚ clearly planning to attack where Nine's most vulnerable. The deal was broken before Nine could uphold it#and to top it all off‚ Sonic doesn’t make everyone stand down or defend Nine to them. The entire group gets to flex their power in front of#Nine (similar to how previously Nine would do the same to convince Sonic to surrender)#and Sonic expects Nine to believe that his surrender will lead to peace. Funny‚ since the other variants can't believe Sonic's surrender#would lead to peace either#It's just kind of tragic that Nine would have felt better about Sonic had the other variants not showed up. And yet‚ even if Nine and Sonic#had the chance to perform their deal‚ even if Nine kept his promise‚ the rest of the variants would never leave him alone#And Sonic wouldn't be around to help Nine. Nine wouldn't even have the prism or his walls to protect himself.#Okay okay I've got lots more thoughts and things I can dig into but best to leave all of that for the season 3 portion of sonine prime#Thank you so much for this ask anon! I really do love me an excuse to talk about Sonine and dig into their individual characters. I'm also#not over S3 so the chance to talk about it some was much appreciated😊💖#And if you or anyone else has any other questions pertaining to Sonine‚ their characters‚ thoughts on individual scenes‚ or anything else at#all‚ feel free to shoot me another ask!🥰

About details in tfone:
- the High Guard all being flight alt modes is an allusion to G1, but I like to think In-universe it's bc it's the most practical army to have. During the war, they fight the Quintessons on the surface, which is constantly changing — it'd be very dangerous for a Ground type but a flight alt mode can go anywhere. It's probably also why Soundwave and Shockwave has flight alt modes.
- Megatron was crying after his fight witb Optimus.
- Megatron sheathed his weapons and didn't use any of them agains Bee and Elita — instead opting to fight them hand-to-hand. It's interesting because when he fights Optimus he uses every firepower he could.
- Soundwave transforms via a front flip, Shockwave through a cannonball jump, while Starscream twists.
- Optimus didn't use any of his own offensive power against the SSS — instead using friendly fire. However, despite the SSS's firepower not exactly being weak, none of the attacks hurt the other or themselves — it seems another thing on what makes the SSS dangerous is that they're very durable.
- the High Guard are all bigger than the average mech. Cogged Orion w no Matrix is presumably, the height of an average mech, Cogged D-16 is still slightly bigger - but even then, Starscream is STILL taller.
- Skyfire is mentioned in the race and you can see him in the tunnel scene — his design looks like it uses the default Jet mode like Darkwing instead of his default shuttle design.
- Bee ignored D-16 and Orion at first despite them making a loud commotion, and after angrily rambling at them then saying "You're real!" implies Bee gets hallucinations a lot.
- Starscream's voice becomes much calmer when he recounts the High Guard's experience
OH HELL YEAH INTERESTING STUFF THANK YOU
#I knew about the Megatron crying one!😊 his tears even match his 86' movie coolant marks counterpart#I think the only instance where Optimus doesnt use hands-to-hands or friendly fire against the SSS#is when he grazes Soundwave's back with his axe during his flip when Soundwave first entered the fight before sliding in#also funny that the order they entered the fight was Soundwave->Shockwave->Starscream#definitely not what was intended but its often how the chain of loyalty toward Megs go#anyway thanks again! i wanna rewatch the movie one more time now.#tagging later#anon

not to beat a dead horse but its wild that people are mad about you calling yourself a "lesboy" when lesbianism and trans masculinity have historically been SUPER intertwined. especially when you bring butches into the conversation. he/him butches have always existed and trans men who identify with lesbianism have always existed. anyways i hope youre doing well and not letting the bullshit get to you.

❤️-Love is a Twisted Dance of Shadows
On his way out of the classroom he does slam into the door in his disbelief at being pulled out of class , and his teacher allowing it.
It hurts some, but he’s not too worried about it when he’s just trying to get out the door and away from prying eyes.
“What?” Liam slams his book into his bag or more so shoves it in, since he’s s not able to throw it against a hard surface.
This is not a fun way to get out of class.
“Hello, sorry to intrude. I thought I would have a really important conversation.” Douglas says, getting right to the point and he’s not Theo, so what the heck is going on? Liam’s not going to be pulled out of class for just anyone.
“Why? I thought you were Theo.” Liam steps back, placing his hand on the door and gently bringing attention to the fact that he’s not too inclined to have any contact with this man.
“Appreciate the concern, but it was only to get myself in here. Theo seems to be more of a household name than I am. For being so young he does cause a lot of traction and attention .” Douglas takes Liam’s bag, throwing it over his shoulder and waiting for him to do as he’s told, which he won’t.
“I’m not trying to be rude but I do have to pass this class.” He watches helplessly as Douglas walks away and Liam does hesitate, does wait to see if he really needs to follow, but the stern look he sees when he doesn’t move immediately, makes Liam accept the request.

“So why are you eating with us? Now that you aren’t living in your off campus apartment you can get a private chef. Really live the lifestyle.” Brett says, a snide joke that he isn’t enjoying, as Liam takes back the waffle, throwing it on his own plate.
“Are you for real? Unbelievable. You went to a private school Brett.” Liam snarks, taking his time to get coffee and make Brett wait for his own cup to be poured.
“Yes, but I’ve never lived a life of crime.” Brett snarls back, a harsh smile bringing out Liam’s defensive side and he wants to defend Theo for doing the only thing he knows how to do.
“You don’t know what he is, or isn’t doing.” Liam throws a napkin at Brett, helping to maintain his role in being polite but adding an irritated spin to it.
Oh!! Look, waffles. Love those.” Nolan beams, and piles a heap of them onto his plate, handing Mason a couple of napkins.
“I’m glad we decided to do buffet style this time because I was getting sick of the regular food we eat at the college. How’s your appetite for fruit?” Mason asks, talking to Nolan and leaving out his other friends.

[A note scrawled in the same hand as before, placed atop a carefully wrapped parcel. Inside, the sleek black hide of some animal, its thick soft fur woven delicately with black feathers, their oil-slick rainbow of colors catching the light as it is turned this way and that. A cloak, sumptuous and heavy.] Gale- This is for Miri. I don't want or expect anything in return. May it keep her warm. It's a gift. Be well. -Your friend
Having heard the knock from his seat in the kitchen, Gale answers the door and accepts the package with a courteous thank you.
He pauses halfway up the stairs to the first floor landing as he reads the note. A gift for her now? His lips curve into a perplexed smile, his eyes narrowing in thought.
"Now, who could you be…?"
He brings the parcel into the kitchen, where Miri has taken up her customary seat across from his at their table, nursing a steaming mug of tea. She raises a curious brow as he takes a seat, parcel in hand.
Gale peels back the wrapping, revealing the sleek, black cloak inside. He gives an impressed whistle at the soft, heavy material. She leans in closer to look, immediately perking up - ears tipping up and eyebrows arching high.
“Gosh. Whoever your benefactor is, my love, they’ve got money to burn. Or access to some of the finest hunting grounds in the realm.” Gale’s gaze moves from the cloak back to the note, before he looks to Miri, a small smile tugging the corners of his lips. “It’s for you.”
Her brows raise precipitously as she looks up to him with surprise. "For me?"
“Yes, for you.” Gale laughs quietly, holding up the note. He can almost see the gears turning in her head as she looks back at him with brows furrowed. “Whoever they are, they want to give you this gift - and they claim not to expect anything in return.”
Miri takes the garment from him - her eyes practically sparkling as she examines the pelt. Gale rests his chin in his hand as he watches her. Her fingers trace reverently over the fur woven with down and flight feathers. Inky-black and iridescent - perhaps crow or blackbird...
She lifts the cloak, turning it this way and that, admiring the way the feathers catch the light. The feathering is thickest around the shoulders, forming something of a mantle, tapering until stopping entirely at mid back. Her nostrils flare with the tell-tale motions of exploring the scent of it.
Gale watches her with a soft, amused smile - his eyes half-lidded with affection and admiration - as her sharp senses pick up every detail they can. He’s always been more than a bit fascinated by the ways she can perceive things - subtle little details she could pick up in a moment. How she examines the smooth feathers and her eyes gleam, pupils dilated. How her nose twitches and her lips curl as she inhales and studies the scent.
The black fur is plush, dense with layers - soft rather than coarse, but weather resistant - and the hide is well tanned on the interior to form a smooth, supple surface. A bear...? Formless and well cared for it is hard to know for certain.
Regardless, it has certainly captured the ranger's curiosity and admiration.
"Ir'ina'lan'ehn julseithe-" Miri murmurs reverently, her eyes still fixed on the cloak. 'Gorgeous fur'.
Miri always makes quite the vision, but it’s terrifically endearing when she becomes entranced like this. Any of those small glimpses of her former life - hunting, alchemy, crafting from natural materials - always bring out this wonder in her. He can see a sort of recognition in her eyes as she studies the garment.
Gale’s smile widens, knowing that whatever her thoughts are, she’s not suspicious anymore. No, that was quickly replaced with fascination.
She stands, holding the garment up. It's just the right length - from her shoulders to her ankles. Unusual, given how short she is. Whoever sent it clearly knows her.
“What do you think, my love? Do you like it?” He asks, though it is quite clear from her enraptured expression that she does.
Miri hesitates slightly, but it's hard to resist the allure of a fine, handcrafted object. The kind of work a packmate might produce... the thought makes her chest squeeze. She whirls the cloak open and around onto her shoulders.
"It is quite lovely," she answers finally, pulling it close around her.
"Quite lovely," he repeats with a teasing grin. He rises smoothly from his seat, circling around her to admire the way the heavy cloak falls over her smaller frame. "That's rather an understatement. It's absolutely gorgeous. And suits you, too."
He steps up behind her, his hands coming to rest on her hips, feeling the plush cloak over her form. Gale squeezes gently, leaning in closer to her and marveling at the way the cloak wraps around her so well. The inky black cloak makes her coppery skin glow, complimenting both her wine red hair and her bright green eyes.
"It looks made for you," he murmurs into her ear. His arms wrap around her a bit more snugly, pulling her back against his chest. One of his hands slides beneath the part in the cloak and comes to rest against her stomach, splaying his fingers over her abdomen.
Miri tilts her head back to peer up at him with a soft hum, her expression affectionate. A thread of curious concern lingers between her brows. Gale catches that look and leans down to nuzzle against the side of her neck, pressing a light kiss there and enjoying the feel of her soft skin on one cheek and the plush cloak on the other.
"You’re thinking about something," he murmurs against her skin, "What is it?"
His touch, his kiss, draw another soft hum from her.
"Still wondering why- or who would send an anonymous gift," Miri returns. “An exceptionally nice, anonymous gift.”
His hands rub in slow, circular motions against her stomach as he continues to hold her to him. Another kiss, this time against her temple. She sighs, her eyes slipping shut, and the corners of his lips curve into a lazy smile.
"I imagine we'll find out soon enough," he murmurs before resting his chin on top of her head. She lets him pull her closer, leaning some weight back against his chest.
His eyes narrow in thought. Who could it be?
"Or perhaps we never will?” Gale muses, “I would presume they wish to remain anonymous for a reason. Whatever reason that might be.”

Hello, an anon with long question had arrived! 😭 I've brought some virtual foods and drinks so you won't be bored on what I'm about to ask you~~~ 🍔🍟🍕 🥤🧋
I don't know if this would interest you, but what do you think about the perception of magic in SVE? (I'm basing my question on my Farmer's lore below.)
My Farmer's parents despise magic, viewing it as a destructive force that can only harm others, based on their past experiences, particularly with Farmer's grandmother (RSV lore). Because of this, Farmer grows up avoiding magic and initially fears it due to his parents' influence. However, his views start to change over time.
Farmer sees Rasmodius using magic to protect Pelican Town, encounters the benevolent Junimo restoring old buildings, and witnesses a fairy enchanting his crops. In Castle Village, he observes battle mages using magic to defend the weak and elixirs with diverse medical uses. Additionally, magic has practical everyday uses. It can summon bubbles without soap, animate puppets for traveling performers, enhance sound for festivals, even had a very simple spells such as all-purpose cleaning, birthday reminders, or sweetening placebos spells for those who cannot consume sugar!
Ultimately, Farmer realizes that magic, like weapons, can be used for both good and ill. The witch who curses his plants at night is one of the proof of the latter. But alas, he understands that like weapon, when used by the right people, magic can improve lives.
... This turns out to be ramblings about my Farmer, and I'm sorry.
But in conclusion, how do different people's perceptions of magic affect their lives, just like Farmer's did? Are there others like Farmer's parents who hate magic? Or are there families who see magic as a special status, where greater understanding of magic elevates social status in the mage world? (It would be an interesting headcanon if either mages in the game like Ras, Lance, Camilla, or Jadu came from such families but disagreed with their views and chose to keep their distance from them.)
Dear anon, don't apologise for this, I love all your discussions and theories about my favourite game, especially this mod and your Farmer OCs 😭💕 And thanks for the virtual food! (gosh, I miss pizza so much! 🍕😋). Have a wonderful day! (Send you some virtual cookies 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪)
_________________________________________
First of all, thanks again for sharing your Farmer OC and his lore, it was interesting to read! We have quite similar views and headcanons on SDV/SVE/RSV lore, and I tried to describe all my thoughts about it here (apologise for a very, very long text 😅)
So, about your ask....
You're absolutely right about magic being both a tool and a weapon. There was an interesting quote I remember about magic, but I don't remember if it was a quote from a video game or if one of my friends said it to me when we were discussing game lore (not SDV). Basically, magic was compared to an axe, but it's up to the individual to decide whether to chop wood for the winter with that axe or kill their neighbour. It is the same with magic: it can be used as a useful tool in everyday life, or as a way to bring chaos and destruction - all depends on the person. But, as it often happens in fantasy world, people who are not familiar with the concept of magic at all, are afraid of incomprehensible power, and if they had negative stories in their past (witch curse, for example), they will definitely consider all those who are somehow connected with magic as evil.
About the question of how magic has affected people's lives and whether or not it's being treated as only evil... If you're referring specifically to the inhabitants of the Stardew Valley, dear anon, it's pretty ambiguous. Looking back at the vanilla lore, some villagers simply denied the existence of magic (Shane in his dialogue at the Feast of the Winter Star), some were frightened by the strange noise coming from Magnus's tower and showed fear and distrust (Marnie). And at the same time, no one had any preconceptions about the maze in Spirits Eve, which miraculously appeared in just one day. "Yeah, that weird ourple dude did it all," and no one would show any concern. Not even the same Shane (free food and pumpkin cider, so he doesn't care too much, I guess 🤷). Also the fact that almost everyone considers the life elixir a universal liked gift. I don't know if I can attribute monsters to this as well, because in my mind, where there are monsters there is dark magic, but maybe the inhabitants see them differently (like mutated animals or something).
As for the Expanded mod specifically, nothing much has changed here either in terms of the vanilla game's residents. But! Victor, our beloved spaghetti man, stands out among all of them. In his event we are already introduced to the fact that Victor openly and directly reveals that he knows for the existence of adventurer clans, and that they - attention! - use magic to fight monsters and to protect people. Also worth noting is his separate dialogue where he tells Farmer that the Ferngill Republic government want to cut down the magical forest here in order to find useful things that can help in the war with the Gotoro Empire. And, most interestingly, as I quote, "that wizard won't let them do it." "That wizard." A wizard! Not "strange man", but a wizard. So, he believes in magic, and he's a man from big city with modern technology. Victor is not speaking negatively about magic in these examples, but more angry at the realisation that the government is intent on greedily gnawing at any opportunity to achieve its goals, in this case at the cost of the unique ecosystem of the Stardew Valley. But Magnus isn't giving them that. This means that people (at least some) also realise that magic exists. I wonder though: if the local authorities respect Magnus's word that it's strictly forbidden to cut down the forest, or if they're just afraid he'll send them away with fireballs if they go into the Valley without asking? I'm leaning more towards the second scenario.
With the Ridgeside Village mod, coming to a conclusion about people's attitudes (both in Pelican Town and Ridgeside Village, and in the rest of the world) is a little easier. And it's all because of Gabriella, the main antagonist of the RSV mod. As far as I understood correctly, her goal is to wreak havoc in the whole world (for what purpose - Hell knows, probably for funnies or whatever), and her minions, soulless shel, faithfully serve their dark queen: killing local politicians (all politicians, not to be confused with the Cult of the Lady with the Red Tail), committing attacks, cursing forests and sources of magic, as it was with Spirit's Realm. Of course, ordinary people who are either victims themselves, or their family/relatives/friends who are affected by it, will see magic only in a negative way and consider it the source of all their troubles. And most won't realise that it's all up to the person (Gabriella isn't a person at all): magic is evil, period. No buts. Because for them, it's easier to deal with pain and loss, to protect yourself and your loved ones.
The moment where wizards and witches lead a rather secretive life from the rest of the (modern) population only adds fuel to the fire of the problem with distrust. Consequently, some magicians also distrust people due to this discrimination. And so the endless wheel of distrust goes on.
People like our Farmer, who in their work as farmer/fisherman/gatherer/adventurer/miner use both magic and modern technology, can be the ones who help these two different social societies find common ground. Or on the contrary, the Farmer will be considered an outsider everywhere, despite helping both modern society (improving Pelican Town's economy, rebuilding many important buildings) and magical society (protecting people from monsters and fighting renegade wizard/witches).
What about our SVE mages...
I used to hold the idea that Lance was NC/LC (no contact/low contact) with his parents for just such a reason. That he, a man with a "gift", was at odds with the views of his parents, who shunned magic like a plague. But over time, I like the idea of his parents being retired noble adventurers with magic better (*looking at my mutuals with their lovely headcanons 👁️👁️💕), so Lance had no problem with that.
Jadu on the other hand, fits more into the category of someone whose views on magic have changed over time. I think he suffered the same fate as Morgan, Magnus' apprentice, when they were taken away from their parents and not even allowed to contact them. Naturally, when you, a child, are taken away from your parents or guardian so abruptly, you're going to see wizards as a source of evil because they came to your home, almost forcefully and threateningly took you from your parents' nest and sent you to who knows where and who knows who, "to learn the arcane knowledge". Even in a fantasy world, that sounds very sus. The witches and mages themselves, under whose wing the young talents were given, can be both the reason for the child's revision of the concept of magic (magic not bad, but also good), and make the situation worse. Later, this can then lead to the formation of renegade mages, thirsty for revenge, they hurt ordinary people in the process of revenge, and the fear of magic in general will be even stronger.
I like to think that Camilla was so determined and opinionated that she wasn't the one they came for, but she somehow fucking came to the Ministry and was like, "teach me!" At least it's sounds funny 😅
Magnus, oh well... I honestly don't know, but he was probably taken into the care of a wizard when he was young to learn spells and alchemy to protect people and help adventurers with "monsters clean up".
Got a bit of a chaotic answer again, but I hope I've answered all the questions!
#I might even be able to defend my thesis on SVE lore at this rate 😅 pffff! 'thesis on SVE lore'#yeah 🤣#thank you again dear anon 😊❤️#sve#stardew valley expanded#stardew valley#sdv#rsv#ridgeside village#sdv headcanons#sve headcanons#rsv headcanons#thanks for the ask!

I just can't get over how Tails spied on Sonic in the bath via satellite in the movies (and enjoyed the view. He knew what he was doing). They (probably unintentionally) giving us shippers fuel ❤️👀
Listen listen, anon
Anon
I think about some of those tidbits from Sonic Movie 2 all the time
I mean it's not as if this is out of character for Tails (given that he more explicitly just kind of straight up stalked Sonic in the backstory in Japan's version of the Sonic 2 manual) but man
This really is not to mention the way Sonic feigns uncomfortability/disgust when he's like "You even watch me in the shower??", and then when Tails doesn't even skip a beat explaining that he knows Sonic takes bubble baths Sonic full 180s into "Wow!😊". Just full on impressed with how extensively Tails has been watching him
Like they just dropped on us "Tails watches Sonic constantly like it's the Sonic show, no matter how private or intimate the moment" and "by all rights Sonic is perfectly okay with the knowledge of this behavior" and expected us to be normal about it?😂
I could probably make an entire post logging Sonic movie 2's sontails shipping fuel honestly
Honarable mention of a scene is when Maddie starts looking through Tails' backpack of inventions and comments "This fox is into some freaky stuff!"
Interesting connotations there
Anyways😂
