i love you, tiny dude - @pessimistics

there's a plaintive silence overriding the area; mostly due to how flabbergasted the random comment was. the statement, he's dissecting slower than he would at rapid fire speed on a normal day. his non normal days? twice as fast if not thrice. golden eyes flit to the man's with an unwittingly scrunched up face ( he's forgotten the last part, for now. but oh when it hits --- ! )

" .... er, i don't even know you and you l....love me ---- " those blinding eyes so sunlike in all the best and worst ways squint suddenly as the realization of the other part of his words kicks in.

.... and the fullmetal alchemist combusts into a solar flare.

" WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING TINY?! DON'T TACK 'I LOVE YOU' AFTER THAT! YOU GOT A LOTTA NERVE, PAL!" he wasn't small, the world was just so damn big! seems edward hadn't entirely adjusted to the usage of short terms .... well, it still had been years and he was reacting predictably every time. if only he was taller ! ! !

One thing I love about the Percy Jackson tv series is that they very consciously avoid making Percy come off as stupid. He’s ADHD as they come, inattentive sure, and funny as hell but that doesn’t mean he’s dumb, and they never dumb him down for the joke.

I think even the fandom falls prey to dumb him down sometimes, so I feel soooo vindicated seeing the tv series portray him CORRECTLY—a young boy with learning disabilities + trauma, but who is bright and rebellious & quick on his feet & has this whole sea of potential that we get to explore :)
