Hi Shin!! I'm doing the best I can be and man, we sure do be getting burnt out cuz of school 😅

As for my modern warfare oc, i don't have much yet honestly. Her name is Jemma "Mock" Court, "Mock" obviously being her code name. Similar to Mariana, she's a bit of a goofball/jokester but she's also blunt and flirty. She's loyal and intelligent as are all my babygirls! Jemma is also pretty sarcastic lol. She would be in her mid to late 20s in current times of the games.

Jemma is pretty seasoned in terms of skills but I'm not sure what her rank would be yet.

Her love interest is Ghost as you can probably tell by my pfp 😅😅 (I love him so fucking much-)

As for her backstory, still trying to figure it out but one idea I've stuck with was her parents or uncle being the leader of a drug cartel. Jemma is forced to be apart of it since young and this is where she picked up a lot of her skills such as shooting a gun, interrogating, manipulation/putting on an act, etc. I'm thinking maybe she'd come into contact with Price and he later helps her get away from the cartel. She would be in her late teens at this time and with no where else to really go, Jemma would stay under Price's mentorship. Later during the current time of the games, Jemma is one of the people Price would bring in to join the Task force 141 and the rest is history. (I would love to know what you think and if you got any ideas you wanna share 👉👈)

PLEASE explain ur shin DID thoughts I wanna know so bad

boy am i glad you asked (LONG POST)

prefacing by saying the sou DID headcanon is very special to me to the point that i talk about it as if it is canon. i know it is not canon. i'm not arguing that this is what these moments mean, i'm arguing this is an interpretation that i really enjoy, and this interpretation of sou's character speaks to the DID experience Unnervingly well.

i use sou & shin interchangebly, they are parts of the same person, but generally i say sou for during the death game and shin for before.

so. first.

the important bit — sou's dissociation from shin tsukimi

during his first trial, shin tsukimi is given the winning percentages. there he learns that 'shin tsukimi' cannot survive the death game.

to escape shin tsukimi's weakness and inevitable death, shin abandons him, and instead takes on the name and certain characteristics of midori, to build a new self — sou hiyori. he disowns his identity as shin tsukimi to psychologically escape from his fate, so that he can psychologically survive in this moment and keep living.

a part of DID is the repression and disowning of the weak and hurting parts of you, and in turn outwardly becoming & functioning as someone or something else that can survive.

sou very literally dissociates from the weak parts of his identity and becomes & functions as someone else to survive.

and that's the absolute basis of the headcanon. turn back now if you want to. the rest is me slowly losing my sanity.

so. listen. here's the thing. theres a lot more in sous behaviour that you could interpret as DID if you know where to look.

it's not quite as simple as "there are two of him: shin tsukimi (who was weak, easily manipulated, and incredibly scared) and sou hiyori (who is not that)". there are quite a few more moving parts to this guy, and also a lot of grey areas where his identity breaks down and develops over the course of the game.

the sou we first meet is timid, but not particularly vulnerable: polite, but observant. you get the vibe he is silently taking note of everything you do, because he is. during the first main game, he takes control of the discussion by claiming to be the Keymaster, both securing his survival, and giving himself a level of control over the discussions.

when the information he found on the laptop and his attempts to throw suspicion on Sara causes everyone to doubt him, he begins to panic. he brings up the moment Nao hit him - something that must have been triggering to him, considering what defines 'sou hiyori' is that he is not weak like shin tsukimi is.

i like to think in this moment a subconcious part of him realises that the present sou hiyori is not removed enough from shin tsukimi to be free of danger. despite his distance, he's weak enough to be attacked - he could have been killed, and now he's at the mercy of the masses.

his protective parts and mechanisms need to kick in at 200%. so they do.

under the pressure sou snaps and goes into a a very aggressive protector part. sou projects outwards his vulnerability complex, calling everybody else 'weaklings' who are going to die (reinforcing his dissociation from shin tsukimi). he suddenly openly rejects the value of trust and human cooperation, in an attempt to make himself seem untouchable and entirely in control.

i love this guy so i marked out a section just to break down his protective mechanisms. this is a direct continuation from the paragraph i just ended.

after his first instance in the first main game, sou's protector part (easily spotted by his fucking mastermind persona) appears multiple times to cover up moments of vulnerability. it makes him out to be a liar, but it also makes him seem incredibly calculating and dangerous, which works just fine for him.

during the token trade game, sou 'fakes' amnesia to avoid being singled out for his actions during the first main game. he reverts back to his polite & timid demeanour for a portion of the chapter, and also sleeps for a large portion of it (due to his sickness). but to allow himself this leeway (either to play up or let slip his weakness) he employs protective mechanisms: he enthusiastically tells Sara that his memory loss was a lie, and that he's been playing them all for fools. he intentionally gives her the impression that every moment of weakness he has let slip or otherwise is part of an elaborate plot.

whether this is purely for the sake of managing how the person he fears most percieves him, or because in this part he is genuinely so disconnected from his vulnerable parts and weakness that he refuses to acknowledge it was real, is up to interpretation to me. but i do love how many layers of lies and contradiction he symbolises.

(i choose to believe his amnesia was a genuine moment of vulnerability, because the scene makes me So Happy if i read it as a vulnerable part slipping through the cracks, who's entirely disconnected from the stressful events of the main game and is genuinely terrified. i like to think his later claim it was a lie was because he could not risk Sara genuinely witnessing his repressed weakness that he swore he disowned at the door. but i digress)

he has a similar 'moment of weakness' during the second main game, where he makes it more explicit that he is not necessarily him telling the truth when he says his earlier weakness was a lie. he relies on other's confusion and the fact people think he is one step ahead of them to protect himself.

he continues to employ his mastermind persona even after the shin tsukimi reveal - although its effect is somewhat lost now that everybody knows that he has vulnerable parts (and people he loves) to protect, and that his persona exists for their sake, not because it's his true personality.

mfw when the ego protection mechanism crumbles because i was vulnerable once and now my protector part hates me.

section: shadow sou

i was going to immediately follow onto shinai and what we can learn from him, but i want to clarify shadow sou first.

the long and short of it is i think he's the closest thing we have to a midori introject. while you could argue sou hiyori has introjected traits (which he most certainly does: he takes his name for christ's sake), i think shadow sou most explicitly takes after him, especially if you read soushin as an emotionally abusive relationship.

(lingo: what is an introject? an introject is an alter who represents internalised traits and figures. for example, if you had a personality who treated you like your mother treated you, and reinforces the beliefs you internalised from her, that would be an introject of your mother. they do not have to be accurate to the real person's personality; they only echo how you saw and internalised them.)

shadow sou speaks with sou like an familiar but condescending friend, comments on sou no longer being shin, and exists to reinforce shin's feeling of weakness. midori encourages shin to become the person you want to be; shadow sou is the one to pressure shin into becoming someone else. midori is a 'scary friend' of shin's, shadow sou physically frightens and attacks shin during his moment of panic.

as far as we know, we never meet shadow sou from Sara's point of view, so i interpret him as a more internal alter. there's a lot to play off with sou's / shin's / shadow sou's relationship: i think they are soooo cute. i just wanted to point out the similarities between him and midori.

section: shinaiiiiiiii: what can he tell us?

ok yaay onto shinai. although not strictly a version of sou (not his repressed weak personality, not his polite but wary personality, not his masterminding ego protection personality, and not his internal shadow self), because he is a computer program, he does give us a certain perspective on who sou used to be.

disclaimer: we know shinai was trained by midori's love poetry, and thus you can argue his personality could be slightly altered to be more suited to midori's purposes. for the sake of this section we will take things with a grain of salt: it's what shinai can suggest about shin, not tell.

shinai gives us the impression that shin tsukimi was polite, had somewhat low self esteem, and was conflicted on midori: on one hand, he scared him a lot, but on the other, he considered him close, and they spent a lot of time together.

during the maple boss fight, shinai sobs for midori to help him. i get the impression that despite being afraid of him, shin still relied on midori for security and reassurance (sou's lantern dialogue to corroborate).

my friend suggested that shinai's / sou's conflicting accounts (with part of him being afraid of midori, and the other seeking assurance from him) could in itself imply that shin (even before the game even began) is made up of two alters with opposing attachment styles. i dont disagree.

i really like sou's morbid interest in the shinai test data. and i know the joke is that it's love poetry and sou is embarassed and repulsed by how midori saw him, especially now that he knows how cruel midori can be, but the scene also spoke to me as a dissociative person; there is nothing more viscerally uncomfortable than learning about things you did as a different personality. it messes with your brain, because it was you, but it also wasn't you - it can't be you, you don't remember it, and it's not the kind of thing you would do, but you did - and so your dissociative rejection signals go absolutely insane. so i like this tiny scene for personal reasons.

and thatse it (i think). i think i said it all.

tl;dr:

this is my headcanon :33 or well. a graphic i made a few months ago as i was solidifying the headcanon. some minor things ive changed my opinion on / perception of since but it gets the idea across.

that said i fully support any other interpreted sou hiyori systems. go fuckin wild. i spoke to a friend a bit ago about their personal DID sou take and i had so much fun.

Actually insane to think about how Akutagawa is the first person to see all of atsushi metaphorically laid bare to be seen. He saw the atsushi that Atsushi likes to hide away from everyone else, the side that shows why he and Akutagawa are two sides of the same coin. That hidden yet uncontrollable stream of sadism when you finally pull the layers back. Akutagawa has seen him at his most pathetic yes but that pathetic—ness was also filled with contempt and anger. Now Akutagawa is the one that has brought pure and uncelebrated relief and hope into him like a man who has found a genuine oasis in the dessert. I will not think about how Atsushi used to fear and dread Akutagawa’s arrival and now he’s the happiest person alive to see his lover partner again. Yeah. No yeah you're perfectly right about all of this, and it's insane. They are both to each other the only people that have seen them completely bare. And it must all be so scary and freeing for them like Wow, there's this person who has seen the all of me. Wow, there's this person who has seen the all of me. It's ecstatic, it's terrifying. That person has seen me whole, the good and bad and nice and ugly, and they still care. Because have you seen Atsushi this chapter, there's no denying that he cares!!! If one of sskk's greatest fears is being abandoned, and being not good enough, there's now someone willing to stick around till the end. It's insane.

hey guys do we realize that the main difference betwen how kai and midori developed is that kai was given the chance to learn what normal life and love and family was like by working with chidouins while midori was kept under asunaros thumb all his life. do we realize that just a few changes could have kai acting just as cruel and merciless as midori. do we realize that midori is a victim of asunaro too, and though that doesn't excuse his actions it does make them more tragic. do we realize this or are we all being serious when we say midori is the only character who isn't worth redemption.

Akutagawa has always felt like a faraway mystery. He’s a contradiction in every way—too heartless to be good, too kind to be evil. Too reckless, too observant. Too insulting, too uplifting.

Atsushi hates him. Yet there’s a small part of him that seeks Akutagawa’s acknowledgment anyway.

“We’re partners,” Akutagawa says, breaking Atsushi out of his thoughts. He spits out the word partners like it’s offensive. “If I didn’t help you improve, then we would mean nothing to each other.”

“Are you saying I improve you too?”

Their eyes meet. Something in Akutagawa’s steely gaze clears up. “Every day.”

Kunikida flinches when Chuuya crawls onto his lap, perching on top with a sly grin. They tuck their hair behind their ear, the other hand trailing down his chest. “Please? It’s just ten minutes.”

“I—” Kunikida’s voice gets stuck in his throat. Chuuya blinks at him with wide, brown eyes, suddenly erasing all evidence of mischief.

They look so innocent. Kunikida hates how his resolve crumbles.

“Just ten minutes,” he sighs in agreement. Chuuya lights up, arms wrapping around his neck as they pull him in for a soft, slow kiss.

When they pull back, Chuuya snuggles their face into his neck with a satisfied groan. Kunikida cards his hand through their hair, albeit disgruntledly. “Why can’t I say ‘no’ to you?”

“Because you love me,” Chuuya mumbles, hiding a smile in his neck.

“No. I think you just enjoy ruining my schedule.”

“I would never!” Chuuya gasps. Kunikida digs his fingers into their waist and they squirm away with a giggle.

Despite everything, Kunikida kisses the top of Chuuya’s head with a fond smile, relaxing.

Shin Tsukimi for character opinion bingo?

So, Shin is one of my favs from the game (I am totally normal about him). The logic route (with reko) is my fav because it was my first route. And in general I just think he is a great character, that makes you think and makes you have mixed feelings. I didn't like him at first. Or more like, he annoyed me soooo much. He makes some questionable decisions, but that makes him so good.

I could also give him the "fans did him dirty" one too, as there are some people misunderstanding his character so much, but I decided against it. I don't see a lot of it, but maybe it's because I am not looking for it and I only live in a bubble of my own imagination lol

But now, Akutagawa is nauseous because he’s not used to being full, much less full of something liquid </3 cue Atsushi being like ?!?! Is this my fault?!??

WONDERFUL...I've been thinking about this all week I think...maybe it's getting colder outside and there's some correlation there with Akutagawa's health declining a little...he's cold all the time too but even worse now, so Atsushi really thinks some warm soup could help from multiple angles...Akutagawa isn't super convinced it'll help, but sometimes he doesn't have the heart to tell Atsushi no when he's just trying to help 🥺 so he drinks all of it...and Atsushi is glad to see that he did because he never eats enough anyway !! but he starts feeling sick pretty much right away 😔😔 he tries to lay down and just hope the nausea subsides but it Does Not. and now he feels it slosh around in his tummy every time he moves, he feels hot, and it's so miserable and Atsushi feels so unbelievably guilty 😭😭😭

Everyone else in the office has left for lunch break, so she doesn't bother holding back. She gestures to the turtleneck Kunikida is wearing, then reaches out to pull down the collar before he can stop her. Her eyes widen at the assortment of purple bruises on his neck. She suspected it, obviously, but she wasn't prepared for the sheer number of them. "Yosano-san!" Kunikida bats her hand away, blushing profusely while she whistles, both impressed and disgusted. "Damn, you're dating a fucking beast," she gasps. Kunikida shoves her away and she bursts into laughter. Ranpo definitely already knows, but she's going to tell them anyway.

But then Akutagawa tilts his head at him, staring intensely, and Atsushi can see the gears turning in his head. "...You want to fistfight over dinner?" Akutagawa asks with a frown. "I mean, I thought we were past that, but I accept your challenge." "What? No! I'm talking about rock-paper-scissors!" Atsushi groans, flicking his wrist to change the symbol each time. Something clicks in his eyes. "Oh. Okay." Akutagawa ends up winning and Atsushi considers bringing back the fistfight option. He really wanted to eat chazuke tonight.

Kunikida flushes at the numerous stares they're getting, and his legs dangle awkwardly at the side, but that doesn't stop the fluttering in his stomach. When they reach an emptier area, Kunikida assumes he's going to be put down. Instead, Chuuya leans down, bringing him in for a sweet kiss. "Sorry, pretty boy," Chuuya says as they part, his eyes glittering with mischief. "I must've misunderstood." Kunikida can't muster up a glare even if he tried, too busy trying to calm his racing heart and stuttering breaths. Chuuya laughs at his reaction, connecting their lips again.

Q: Who did Vaklorvek murder? Also do T'Rahni'hk and Kirinnin have a good relationship?

A: Vaklorvek was a passenger on a transport ship which was caught up in some typical star trek alien bullshit because a Starfleet ship was involved in helping it through what seemed to be engine trouble. A powerful entity soon destroyed the transport ship, killed most of the passengers and he was part of the few that were alive (Moved along with a few others to the Starfleet vessel for safety). The entity informed them all that it would stop and leave the rest alive if they chose one person to sacrifice. No one on board was willing to sacrifice anyone or be sacrificed. They would all stick together until the bitter end to find a way to defeat this thing! While this was happening Vaklorvek tricked one of the crewmen onto an escape pod which he then trapped them in. He'd programmed it to leave the ship then encrypted it so the crewman couldn't escape in time. The entity 'ate' the pod and the crewman inside it and, satisfied, left the rest of them alive as promised. Vaklorvek didn't hide what he'd done and once they reached Federation space he was immediately placed under arrest. To this day he expresses no remorse for his actions and T'Rahni'hk is unsure how exactly to interact with him as he's stated before that he did what he did to ensure that she lived. T'Rahni'hk and Kirinnin get along very well! Kiri holds his sister in very high regard, thinking she's very intelligent - if only she would stand up for herself. T'Rahni'hk meanwhile finds her brother a bit unruly and difficult to understand but she tries her best to remain close with him and is relieved that he seems to be responding well to her efforts. He's very brash in contrast to her so she can get overwhelmed or roped into what he wants to do very easily. Her mother often scolds her for letting him get away with too much and sneaking him candy. He doesn't need candy! The only thing she really chastises him for is speaking too emotionally and being rude to others. (He's still learning how to fully control his emotions). When she's home he makes her play one million games with him.
