Dear Friend,
I hope this message finds you in a moment of peace. My name is Ghazi Al Amoudi, and I’m reaching out to you from the depths of despair. My family and I are trapped in Gaza, caught in the relentless storm of war. We’ve lost everything—our home, our safety, and the foundation of our lives 💔. Now, we find ourselves huddled in a fragile tent, vulnerable to the harsh elements and living in constant fear 💨💦.
With a heart filled with both sorrow and hope, I am desperately asking for your help 😢. Every bit of support—whether a donation, a share, or a kind word—brings us one step closer to escaping this nightmare. Our home, once a place of warmth and love, is now a memory buried under rubble 💔. We are left with only fear and uncertainty, struggling to survive each day 😔.
Please, if you can find it in your heart, help us find safety 😭🙏. Even the smallest act of kindness can light up our darkest hours, offering us a chance to rebuild our shattered lives. Your compassion could be the turning point between despair and a new beginning 🥺❤.
Here is my campaign link: https://gofund.me/8a2c70d7. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing our story could help us reach someone who can.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support 🙏❤.

F!Reader X Ren Hana
Hello everyone!!! Back at it again with a new Boyfriend To Death fic ❤
I know what you might be saying. “Wow another BTD fic based around a collar, real original Moth” BUT in my defense I actually wrote this one before the story I wrote for Strade. My brain barfed this out a few months ago (when I finished playing through Ren’s route for the first time) but I wanted to make something Christmas-esque because it was December, so Strade’s story came out first.
Regardless, I had a lot of fun writing both, so I hope you enjoy them too! ❤
Though there is nothing overtly sexual in this, due to the subject nature of this fic this story is 18+ ONLY please!!!
Warnings: imprisonment, abuse (physical and mental), reader has some extreme Stockholm syndrome going on, incredibly unhealthy relationship, biting, blood, reader gets hurt, mentions of sex, I guess maybe petplay potentially??? (what with the collar and all).
Thank you for reading!

“Okay… You promise you’ll be a good girl, right? No funny business?”
Despite being perched on soft carpet, your legs ached from kneeling on them for the past half hour. You kept your back pin straight and your shoulders even, your hands neatly folded in your lap. His voice was cheery as he spoke down to you, playful even, but you knew Ren well enough to know that these next moments were crucial. With him, even the most benign moments could turn at the drop of a hat.
“I promise Ren. I’ll be good.”
Your voice was soft as you responded to him, big doe eyes looking up at the beastkin in expectation. Your promise wasn’t a lie- you always intended to be good for him, striving to do so even when the situation made that nearly impossible. You bit your bottom lip apprehensively, a slight shiver wracking Ren’s body when you did so. He was watching you just as closely as you were him, drinking in your form, honing in on each and every move of your body and change of expression.
He smiled at you, that sad half smile he always got when he was grappling with his inner emotions. “I know you will. You are always good for me… To me…” He hesitated for a moment, staring with trepidation at the key that lay in his hand. It was no bigger than his pinky, but seemed to weigh him down regardless.
“I’m just, um, nervous I guess. But I’m not sure why? It’s not like taking it off is gonna change anything,” Though he laughed to dispel the tension, it had the opposite effect, his nerves palpable as he fidgeted where he stood.
For a moment you thought he was going to go back on his word. Tell you to forget about it and toss the shock collar’s key aside, leaving you stuck in it for another day. Part of you wondered if that would even matter. Ren was right, nothing truly would change, collar or not.
… But still, you couldn’t help but hope. That cruel, nagging feeling swelled up in your heart, making your breath hitch in anticipation. Your heart beat like a drum in your chest and sweat slicked your brow as you watched him nervously turn the key around in his palm, your fate in his hands as he mulled the decision over.
It had been months now that the collar had been around your neck, heavy and overbearing, a constant, torturous reminder of your new life. He had only allowed it to come off in brief intervals when you showered or when you slept so that you could find some comfort as you laid next to him, caged in by his embrace. Otherwise it wrapped around your neck like a noose, and even though these days its intended purpose was hardly necessary, Ren kept it firmly in place. He was too afraid to keep it off you for long, worried that given the choice you would abandon him too.
But you wouldn’t. For better or worse, whatever twisted feelings Ren had harbored for you, you now shared for him-all of his ardent affections reciprocated. Deep inside you knew this all was wrong, and it would be a blatant lie if you said you no longer felt any fear or sadness over all that had transpired (all that continues to transpire) while he held you in captivity. Even so, none of that dulled the fact that at this point you craved his touch, yearned for his smile, and wanted nothing more than his companionship and love to get you through the lonely struggle life had become.
After spending months with him as your only companion, you had grown to care deeply for Ren. Though the experience was often terrifying and confusing, you had learned to place your trust in him as he watched over you the past half year, relying on him for all your needs and necessities. The more time you spent together, the more you learned about him. And the more you learned, the more you began to open up to him.
After a certain point, love began to blossom.
That feeling flourished within, growing so unruly that even his moments of torment and cruelty were accepted with open arms. It took you awhile to realize it, but you now understand that everything Ren does he does for your benefit. Whether he was treating you like a princess or teaching you a harsh lesson, Ren did everything in his power to make sure you were cared for, protected, and aware. Life wasn’t always fair and kind, it was better to be taught that at the hands of someone who loved you then to experience it unexpectedly out in the wild.
Looking back on it now, you were a fool not to appreciate him sooner. All the fussing and fighting you did when he first brought you home seemed completely ridiculous now. He took you in, let you live in a nice home, prepared you home cooked meals every day, and lavished you in affection even when you were being stubborn and didn’t deserve it.
For all that he is and all that he has done for you- the good and bad alike- he deserved nothing but your wholehearted devotion in return. Thinking about the past made you cringe but you refused to let yourself get caught up in it, doing your best every day to be good for him and make up for your prior indiscretions. He loved you with all that he is, poured his soul into caring for you and keeping you content. No past lover had ever treated you with the loyalty or attention that Ren had, and you were thankful for that.
His happiness had become your happiness. To risk the life you had built together by taking advantage of his kindness was unthinkable.
But even with your steadfast dedication to him, he still continued to mull over this decision with a deep scowl plastered on his face. An ache blossomed in your chest. Surely he had to realize by now that he was just as precious to you as you were to him? You pouted a bit as you watched him agonize over the situation, your heart hurting to see him have such a lack of faith in your bond.
“… Ren?”
Your questioning voice caught his attention, dragging his focus away from the key he was clutching in his sweaty grip. The moment you had grabbed his attention, you slowly began scooting closer to him, your knees itching as they scratched against the fibers of the fancy carpet. Once you neared him, you raised your hands till they cupped his, gently enveloping his shaky fist in your warm hold. You pulled his hand towards your mouth, delicately kissing each of his fingers as you stared up into his eyes.
“If you don’t want to take it off, you don’t have to,” you smiled at him genuinely, your lips lingering on his thumb before you pulled away. You felt a shiver pass through him as his eyes grew hazy, boring into yours with growing intensity, “I can tell it’s making you uncomfortable, so it’s OK. I am not upset, we can keep it on another day-“
“No.”
Your eyes widened at the assuredness in his voice, all previous concern nonexistent. “No… It’s time to take it off. It’s only getting in the way at this point. Just… Gimme a second, OK?”
He positioned himself behind you, nervous hands fumbling as he worked to remove the collar. After several seconds of poking and prodding, a loud ‘click’ came from the back of your neck followed by a small thud as the heavy collar fell from your body, colliding with the carpeted floor.
Your hand’s shot up to touch your exposed skin, a shiver coursing through you as the cold air hit your sweaty flesh. Tears began to well in your eyes as the realization donned on you. You were free. You had been a good girl for Ren and he rewarded you for it, just like you knew he would.
“W-well,” you heard Ren stutter above you, clearly a bit nervous about what may happen next, “What do you think? How does it feel?”
“It feels amazing,” your voice warbled as you still got used to the sensation. Its absence was foreign and exciting and you couldn’t help but break out in a huge, elated grin. “Thank you Ren. Thank you so much.”
He lowered himself in front of you, crouching on his knees. “Can I see?” A hint of worry still remained in his timid voice, fearful that you may still end up rejecting him.
You looked to him with a smile and nodded, baring your neck for him to witness. “Of course! I probably look a little bit different without it on, huh?”
“Pretty…” His voice was breathless as he dragged his fingers gingerly across the freed skin of your neck. His pupils dilating slightly as he felt you shudder under his touch. “So, so pretty… But also, a little barren, don’t you think?”
Your breath caught at the insinuation, a small wave of panic causing your body to tense. Did he regret his decision after all? Was he going to put the collar back on? You had told him it was fine if he decided that, and you weren’t someone who went back on their word, but at the same time… that was before you experienced it. Now that you realized how good it felt without that horrible, weighty reminder clinging to your skin, you dreaded the thought of it attached to your body once more.
An airy chuckle fell from his lips as he noted your reaction. He leaned in closer to you, his hand cupping your cheek as he brought his mouth close to your ear.
“Don’t worry pumpkin, I’m not going to put it back on. But I do hate the idea of you walking around without something on your body to signify that you’re mine, you know?” His caress traveled from your cheek, his right hand snaking around your head to cradle it, pulling you closer to him. His free hand wrapped around your waist, which kept you flush against him.
“I want to give you something better than that collar,” his voice had become strained, lithe fingers curling up to entangle in your hair, tugging roughly on the strands at the base of your neck. “I want you to have something personal, something that will look perfect on you.”
Without another word, he latched himself to your neck. Not in a kiss, but a harsh, powerful bite.
You gasped as his sharp incisors dug themselves into your flesh, a wave of pain causing tears to flood your eyes. You pressed your fists against his chest, biting down on your trembling bottom lip in an effort to hold back your cries.
Warm blood trickled from the wound as he detached himself, a vibrant trail snaking from the puncture wound to slither down your neck. His tongue stopped it before it hit your collar bone, leaving a wet, sloppy streak across your neck as he licked up the mess.
“This is much better, right?” He asked tentatively, his fingers traveling down to trace the wound he had inflicted. Blood coated his fingertips as he ran them over the injury, his breath hitching as he smeared you with crimson, “prettier… you are so pretty, (name)…”
“T-thank you Ren,” you flinched at the movement of his fingers, shuddering as he pressed down on the open wound, “It’s much better.”
“Hmmm,” he hummed, pivoting your head slightly so that he could nuzzle into the unmarred side, “but it’s not perfect yet, there needs to be more.”
Another abrupt bite sunk into your flesh. This time you couldn’t help but cry out, blubbery whimpers tumbling from your quivering lips. You felt Ren shiver against you, your reactions eliciting an excited moan from him that was muffled by your flesh in his jaw. The hold his teeth had on you eventually yielded, but the assault of his mouth did not. Feverish kisses pressed against the new wound, his tongue lapping at the blood as it muscled its way across the puncture. You whined at the sensation, waves of pain emanating from the weeping, gory wounds as he continued to aggravate them.
When he finally pulled away tears had already begun to fall freely down your cheeks. Though he had given your neck a much needed break, you were given no time to collect yourself as he proceeded in pressing his lips firmly to yours. The taste of copper flooded your tongue as he deepened the kiss, forcibly pushing himself against you until you had no choice but to lean backwards, your back falling flat against the floor as he crawled overtop you.
He placed his hands on either side of you, his legs straddling your hips as he sat himself atop you. You were effectively caged in when his lips parted from your own, and though his face was obscured in shadows, you could clearly see a swath of your blood spread across his mouth. It perfectly complimented the animalistic hunger in his eyes, his mischievous fox like features seeming far more sinister than normal as he leered down at you.
If you didn’t know any better, you would fear he was going to eat you alive.
“I want to mark you in all kinds of ways, (Name),” His tongue darting out to swipe across his bottom lip, a sliver of pink peeking through the red, “I want to mark you to show you how much I love you. I want you to be able to look at every inch of your body and be reminded of me. That way even if we get separated, you won’t be lonely. You’ll have a constant reminder of how much I love you.”
A serene smile spread across his face as he looked at you, the vibrancy of his blush nearly matching the blood that coated his mouth and chin. He shifted a bit above you, the feel of his hardening cock unmistakable as it pressed against your pelvis.
“I love you,” his voice wavered as he leaned closer towards you, unsteady breaths fanning your face as his lovesick eyes drank you in. His lips were teasingly close to yours as he continued to smile down at you, a small, happy laugh tumbling from his lips as his tail began to swish behind him in excitement.
“I’m so glad I made you mine.”

The following days after that night were interesting.
Granted things were still quite tense between you two, but perhaps because now you knew that neither of you wanted to walk away from this no matter how terrible that fight had been, there was also an unspoken agreement of peace.
You passed by the hallway, fixing your gloves as you went downstairs and as soon as you reached the foyer, you saw Benedict entering the house.
“Husband,” you greeted him in a half joking manner as you walked past him, ignoring the way your heart skipped a beat.
“Wife,” he joked back, making you bite down on your smile but you stopped dead on your tracks as the thought hit you, and you turned around.
“Benedict wait,” you said, making him stop at the bottom of the stairs before he turned around as well to look at you.
“Yes?”
“We have the Coleshill ball tonight,” you said. “Don’t forget.”
“I haven’t,” he assured you. “At eight, I know. Are we going together?”
“I’ll be back before evening,” you said, shifting your weight. “So we can.”
He nodded and you cleared your throat, motioning at him.
“I mean if it’s fine with you, that is.”
“It’s fine—of course it’s fine,” he said quickly. “I just asked because you’re leaving, so…”
“To my uncle’s,” you replied and offered him a small smile. “Any luck with Lottie?”
“Not at all,” he said with a sigh. “And you?”
“I went there yesterday, she just sent a maid downstairs to tell me she was ill so she ‘couldn’t talk to me’,” you used air quotes and Benedict hummed.
“Same here,” he said. “Anthony says he saw her for a moment, she went to the drawing room to tell him she didn’t want to talk to him, and went straight back to her room.”
“So she’s not speaking to any of us,” you clicked her tongue. “Great. I’ll talk to her during tonight’s ball, it’s fine.”
“You sound confident.”
“I try,” you murmured. “But if I get to talk to her, I’ll tell her the truth. Just so you know.”
“I doubt we have much of a choice on that, she already knows the general idea,” he commented and you shifted your weight.
“Sorry about that,” you said. “I really didn’t know she was there. I was arguing with Josie, and…”
“Not your fault,” he said, waving a hand in the air. “Don’t worry about it. And Josie?”
“She’ll come around,” you said. “By the way, if she knows then Bess knows as well. And probably Andrew.”
“Alright,” he said and cleared his throat. “I was thinking maybe I should talk to Josie.”
Your eyes widened. “What?” you asked. “Why on earth would you do that?”
“I think she’d want an explanation about this whole thing.”
“Josie isn’t the type to listen to explanations.”
“I’ll try anyway,” he said and thought for a moment. “I should probably try it with a body armor though.”
“She’s not going to stab you,” you said, and shook your head. “She’s not. She knows better.”
“Are you trying to convince me or yourself?”
“Both,” you muttered and took a deep breath. “Just—you know. It’ll be fine but be careful.”
“I will.”
“Also make sure there are witnesses around but it’ll be fine,” you added and he pulled his brows together.
“You are terrible at assuring people.”
“I’m working on it,” you admitted and clapped your hands together, offering him a smile. “It’ll be fine, hooray!”
He paused for a moment and blinked a couple of times, then nodded quite enthusiastically.
“Baby steps,” he said as if trying to encourage you. “We’ll get you there.”
You grimaced, making him chuckle and you both stared at each other for a moment, then you frowned, trying to snap out of it.
“Anyway, I’d better go.”
“Right,” Benedict said, shaking his head slightly. “See you when you come back.”
“Sure thing,” you said and you walked out of the house, then approached the carriage as the coachman opened the door for you.
“Where to, ma’am?”
“My uncle’s house,” you said and got in the carriage. “Thank you.”
                                   *
When you got to your uncle’s house, there was no sign of Teddy or your aunt, and you looked around, then made your way to the closed door of your uncle’s study to knock on it.
“Come in!” he called out and you opened the door to peek your head in.
“Good morning uncle.”
“Oh my Clover is here!” he smiled and got up from his seat. You walked to him to hug him with a laugh.
“Were you busy?”
“Not at all, just going over…” he motioned at his desk. “Never mind. Your aunt and Teddy are outside at the park.”
“Oh that’s alright,” you said. “I was actually hoping I could talk to you?”
“Of course, sit down, sit down!” he said and called for the maid passing by the door, then asked her for some cookies and tea. You sat down on the sofa and he came to take his place on the armchair.
“To what do I owe this wonderful surprise?”
“I need your wisdom.”
“It’s at your service,” he joked as the maid walked in, carrying a tray.
“Thank you,” you said as she placed the cookies and tea on the small coffee table, then curtsied and left the room. You took a sip of your tea and leaned back.
“Any other letters?”
“None,” he said. “As I’ve told you.”
“That’s a relief at least.”
“You have nothing to worry about,” he assured you. “Now, what do you need my wisdom for?”
You looked down at the tea cup in your hand, then raised your glances.
“You and auntie have been married for a long time,” you started. “And auntie says you two fell in love after your first dance.”
“We did,” he said with a smile. “I thought I was dreaming when I first saw her.”
You licked your lips. “And you’re…you still love each other.”
“We do.”
“So you’ve never had a fight or anything right?”
He tilted his head. “Clover, what is this about?”
You took a deep breath, then cleared your throat.
“Hypothetically speaking,” you started. “Let’s say you and auntie had a fight and hypothetically it was a big fight and hypothetically you said things.”
“A lot of hypotheticals.”
“I woke up curious,” you replied and he chuckled.
“Is everything alright between you and Benedict?”
“Sure,” you said. “So? What would you do if that happened?”
He reached out to grab a cookie, then hummed.
“To answer your first question, we did have fights, me and your aunt,” he said and you frowned.
“You have the perfect marriage.”
“Perfect marriages don’t just happen, Clover,” he said. “Especially at the start of the said marriage. Yes we were in love, we still are but it doesn’t mean we didn’t have arguments. Every couple is bound to have them sooner or later.”
“Why did you have a fight?”
“Well, marriage is a huge change in one’s life. Takes a bit of time to get used to,” he said. “The important thing is to never forget how much you love the person you’re married to, no matter what you’re fighting over.”
You pressed your lips together and he gave you a small smile.
“How bad was the fight?”
“I uh—I said things,” you admitted and paused for a moment. “Not necessarily nice things.”
“Ah,” he said. “An apology could work, perhaps?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Did you try?”
“…No,” you said after a beat and sat up straighter. “I have another question.”
“Ask away dear.”
“How did you know?” you asked. “That you were in love with auntie?”
He thought for a couple of seconds, then shrugged his shoulders.
“I suppose I realized that no one else but her made me happier,” he said. “When I imagined my future, anything else was a detail as long as she was there. She was my first thought as I woke up and last thought as I went to sleep and I couldn’t…I couldn’t imagine a scenario where I didn’t have her in my life.”
You blinked a couple of times; the idea was way too familiar to you. You swallowed thickly, then let out a huff of breath and buried your palms into your eyes.
“He loves you,” he said, making you lower your hands. “Anyone could see that. A fight won’t change things as long as you two talk about what happened.”
“That’s not my strongest suit,” you murmured and he chuckled.
“No harm in trying.”
“You make it sound so easy.”
“Perhaps because it is easy?” he asked. “If you’re wondering the key to a good marriage, it’s knowing when to listen and when to apologize.”
You slipped a little on the sofa and hummed.
“What if I try to apologize and he doesn’t want to hear it?”
“No offense Clover but out of the two of you, I’d say it’s you who doesn’t want to hear apologies and not him.”
You pouted your lips.
“That’s not…” you started to protest, then let out a noise of agreement and shrugged your shoulders. “Yeah, you might be right about that.”
                                  *
Coleshill Ball was an absolute blast. Lord Easton had apparently decided to attend along with Lucy and Henry, and he was instantly surrounded by many people trying to talk to him. He had only had a couple of seconds to greet you and Benedict before his many admirers started talking over each other, eager to have a conversation with him. The orchestra was very talented as well, so everyone seemed to be having fun, dancing and socializing.
Everyone except you, Benedict and Anthony. The three of you found yourselves huddled in the corner of the room while Lottie adamantly ignored you, busy with her conversation with Lord Finney after their dance. Lord Finney hadn’t stopped eyeing Lottie with a small smirk you didn’t like since the end of their dance, and you could swear if you tried to pass by Anthony’s eyesight, you would have dropped dead from a thousand invisible daggers he was glaring at Lord Finney whereas Benedict looked nearly impatient, biting inside his cheek.
“Can I stab him?” you asked to no one in particular and both Benedict and Anthony answered at the same time.
“No.”
“Yes.”
You looked up at Benedict. “The head of the family said yes.”
“Now you want to listen to someone?” he asked you. “Not to mention him of all people? You don’t even like him.”
“I’m standing right here Ben.”
“She doesn’t like you Anthony,” Benedict deadpanned without so much as sparing him a glance and you made a face.
“I have no idea what you speak of,” you mused. “I’ve been nothing but nice to Anthony.”
Anthony leaned forward to look at you around Benedict’s arm, a look of disbelief etched in his features. “This is you being nice?”
“You’re standing here alive and well, so yes.”
Benedict suppressed a laugh, and you took a deep breath, pursing your lips.
“You know what, that’s enough,” you said. “The next dance will not start for a half an hour, I’ll go there and talk to her.”
“And Finney?”
“I’ll threaten him,” you said and Benedict nodded.
“Want me to come with you?”
“I can intimidate people by myself Benedict, have some faith,” you told him and walked away from them to approach Lottie and Lord Finney.
“Lottie,” you said as you reached them. “Good evening.”
She stole a look at you, pouting. “Good evening to you too Mrs. Bridgerton.”
“…Fair enough,” you muttered and nodded in Finney’s direction. “Leave us.”
“Mrs. Bridgerton—”
You turned to him, your eyes narrowing into a cold glare as your voice lowered into a growl.
“I said leave.”
A look of intimidation crossed his eyes and he swallowed thickly, then took a step back and bowed his head before walking away from you both.
“That wasn’t very nice,” Lottie said and you shrugged your shoulders.
“I’m not interested in being nice,” you commented and gave her a small smile. “Can we talk Lottie? Please?”
Her brows furrowed for a moment, that pout still apparent on her lips.
“Five minutes is all I ask,” you said. “I’d like to explain myself if you’d let me.”
She thought for a moment, then heaved a sigh.
“Fine.”
“Great,” you said, a smile lighting up your face, “Let’s go outside.”
She followed you out of the ballroom and you both stepped outside to the garden. Thankfully there weren’t people around which was no wonder considering how fun the ball was inside, so you approached the nearest bench and sat down, Lottie taking her spot next to you.
“So?” she asked. “If you’re going to tell me any more lies—”
“I’m not,” you cut her off and shook your head. “I’m not going to lie to you, and I’m sorry that I did. I really am.”
That seemed to take her by surprise and she frowned slightly.
“And I know you heard my and Josie’s argument but I don’t think of you gullible or anything, it was just something I said because I was frustrated with Josie and the whole thing. I hope you know that.”
She nodded and thought for a moment.
“Tell me everything,” she said. “From the very beginning.”
So you did. If anything, it was such a relief that you felt like a weight was lifted off your shoulders, and when you were finished a silence fell upon you both before Lottie let out a breath.
“Wow.”
“Yeah,” you said. “Exactly. You know what the ton thinks of me, they say Benedict married me because I trapped him or lured him away from you, or I planned it—”
“That’s not true.”
“And if they thought a scandal happened, you know what they would say about me,” you said. “So we told no one. The only reason we told Anthony was because he—he needed to know, considering everything. As I said, even my family doesn’t know.”
“Did you not trust me?”
“That’s not the reason,” you shook your head. “Lottie, you were so happy for us. I just couldn’t…I couldn’t bring myself to disappoint you and I’m sure Benedict feels the same.”
“You could never disappoint me,” she said. “I was just—I was sad.”
“I know.”
She nibbled on her lip and took a deep breath.
“Well,” she said. “At least it’s a relief that it wasn’t all a lie.”
“What?”
“Benedict and you have a love marriage.”
You raised your brows. “Uh, Lottie—”
“You two got married because you were caught kissing.”
“That’s lust Lottie, not love,” you said in a haste and she rolled her eyes at you.
“You honestly can’t see how he looks at you?” she asked. “Or how you look at him?”
Your heart skipped a beat and you sat up straighter. “Well because we had to pretend to be in love—”
“No one is that good of a pretender,” she said. “Not even you. And I’ve known Benedict for a long time, so I’d be able to tell if he were in fact pretending. It’s alright if you can’t see it yet, but I will be here to say I told you so when you finally realize that it is in fact a love marriage.”
You tried to swallow the nervous lump in your throat and averted your glances.
“Benedict and I are…” you trailed off. “We’re bound.”
“By marriage?”
“By fate.”
“By your hearts as well,” she pointed out and smiled at you, then pulled you into a hug. You hugged her back, and heaved a sigh when she pulled back.
“I’d better go, otherwise my next dance partner will assume I’m avoiding him,” she sighed and stood up. “Are you coming?”
“I think I’ll get some fresh air, it helps me think,” you said. “But I could also intimidate your next dance partner if you’d like.”
“I don’t wish to be rude,” she told you with a giggle and you saw Anthony stepping out of the house, making you tilt your head. Lottie turned around as he made his way to you.
“Charlotte, can we—?”
“No because I’m still angry at you,” Lottie said. “And I’m angry at Benny too, make sure to tell him that please.”
You pressed your lips together to contain your laughter at Anthony’s puzzled expression, but before he could say anything, Lottie stuck her nose in the air and walked past him to go back into the house. Anthony threw his head back and heaved a sigh while you leaned back, resting your elbows on the back of the bench.
“She forgave you?” he asked and you nodded.
“Yeah.”
“And she refuses to talk to me.”
“I have a more charming personality than you do.”
“Not really,” he said. “I mean just because your marriage is turbulent, doesn’t mean you should go around making others’ the same as well.”
You pulled your brows together in confusion. “You’re not married, in case it has escaped your notice.”
“I could’ve been,” he pointed out, “if I could get some spare time from the string of scandals you all throw at me. First you and Benedict, then Daphne and Simon, and now Colin wants to marry Miss Marina.”
“Wait really?” you asked. “It feels like yesterday he was getting all nervous to even talk to her. They grow up so fast.”
“Colin is older than you, Y/N.”
“That’s irrelevant,” you said and he came to sit beside you.
“So yeah, if everyone could stop for a moment to let me at least court Charlotte without getting in the way, it would be much appreciated.”
You smiled slightly and shrugged your shoulders.
“Patience is a virtue they say,” you said. “Perhaps waiting patiently will teach you a valuable lesson in the meantime.”
He scoffed. “Have you ever waited patiently for anything?”
“I’ve been waiting patiently for this conversation to end ever since you opened your mouth,” you retorted and rolled your eyes. “But if anything, she wants to marry you too.”
He turned to you, hope shining in his eyes. “She said that?”
“She mentioned it, yes,” you said. “So until she decides to forgive you, send her flowers, proclaim your undying love on a bent knee, whatever it is that in love people do.”
He nodded slowly, then cleared his throat.
“Speaking of that,” he said. “Is everything okay between Benedict and you?”
“Your guess is as good as mine,” you said and stole a glance at him. “What did he tell you?”
“He mentioned that you two had an argument but judging by the tortured look on his face for the last weeks up until a couple of days ago, I’d say it’s something more than a simple argument.”
You bit on your nail, keeping your gaze on the house.
“I’m not very pleasant when I’m angry,” you said and he raised his brows.
“If it makes you feel any better, you’re not very pleasant when you’re not angry either,” he stated and you turned your head to make a face at him.
“I would say I’m more pleasant than you but let’s be honest, it’s not like you’re setting a high standard there” you told him, making his lips twitch in amusement.
“Fair enough,” he said. “But just so you know; whatever it is that is bothering you, whatever happened between you and Benedict, if my help is needed in any way it’s at your service.”
You blinked a couple of times, furrowing your brows.
“…Why?”
“Because you’re family.”
A tentative smile curled your lips and your eyes darted over his face to get a hint of insincerity, but it wasn’t there.
“Thank you,” you mumbled after a pause and he shook his head.
“Don’t mention it,” he said and you saw Benedict stepping outside. Anthony turned to look at him, then stood up.
“I’ll try my chances to talk to Charlotte,” he said and walked away from you, passing by Benedict to get in the house. Benedict put his hands in his pockets and approached you.
“Hello there.”
“Hello,” you said and stuck your nose in the air in an exaggerated smug manner. “Lottie forgave me.”
He tilted his head. “Really?”
“Yes but she’s still angry at you and Anthony,” you said and he hummed.
“That explains why she glared at me when she got back in the ballroom just now.”
You grinned. “I’ll put in a good word for you.”
“I appreciate that,” he said with a chuckle and motioned at the bench. “Do you mind?”
“Not at all,” you said and he sat beside you, making you bite down on your lip, stealing a look at him.
“Ben?”
“Hm?”
“I’m…” you paused for a moment, your heart climbing up to your throat in nervousness, making you take a shaky breath. “I’m sorry.”
A look of surprise crossed his face and you sat up straighter, turning to see him better.
“I don’t…I don’t really pay attention to the words I say when I’m angry, which is no excuse but—I’m working on it,” you said, nodding as if trying to encourage yourself. “And I’m sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean any of that.”
A soft light appeared in his eyes and he nodded.
“Your apology is heard and accepted,” he quoted you, making you frown in doubt.
“That easily?”
“Mm hm,” he said. “That easily.”
“I would’ve made me suffer more.”
“Good thing we’re complete opposites then,” he said and you bit back a smile.
“Good thing for me at the very least,” you commented as the beginning notes of the orchestra’s dance tune reached your ears. Benedict stole a look at you.
“Do you want to dance?”
“I don’t feel like going back inside,” you said with a shrug of your shoulders. “Too crowded.”
“Who said we needed to go back inside?” he asked as he stood up to offer his hand. A scoff of laughter escaped from your mouth, and your eyes went from his hand up to his face to see whether he was jesting or not. That playful lopsided grin curled his lips as you placed your hand in his, and he pulled you up to your feet.
“You’re not serious.”
“Oh I absolutely am,” he said as he entwined his fingers with yours and you let him twirl you before he pulled you closer, a giggle climbing up your throat despite you trying to repress it.
You two were standing much closer than this dance -or any dance- required, but you couldn’t find it in you to care. You rested a hand on his broad chest, feeling the thrumming of his heart underneath your fingertips and he sneaked an arm around your waist, burying his nose into your hair while you two swayed slowly with the tune.
“I missed this,” Benedict murmured into your hair and you closed your eyes for a moment, inhaling his pleasant scent as discreetly as you could, all your senses full of him.
“Dancing?”
“Holding you,” he said softly and you smiled, opening your eyes but not pulling back.
“It’s peaceful,” you whispered and he hummed, caressing the back of your hand with his thumb, the simple gesture making your stomach do a happy flip.
“It is.”
“I missed it too,” you admitted, your voice quiet. “It’s been—”
“Hey lovebirds!” Henry’s voice cut through you and you pulled back, both you and Benedict turning to look at him. Lucy elbowed Henry.
“I told you not to interrupt!”
“They can continue that later on,” Henry said as you felt your cheeks burn, shifting your weight before you managed to smile at them.
“Hello.”
“We have a party to catch, come on,” Henry held up an envelope. “Apparently Jane felt like throwing a celebration for the sake of it all of a sudden, Thomas just sent word. You’re both invited as well.”
“Everyone is already there,” Lucy added and Henry grinned.
“Gordon is coming as well—we’ll go get the carriage,” he said and they both walked away from you. Benedict heaved a sigh.
“I don’t think—” you paused for a moment. “I think I’ll skip this one but you should go.”
“Oh no, I don’t have to be there,” he said in a haste and you smiled slightly.
“Benedict,” you said. “Go have fun, it’s been a while. I would’ve come with if it were any other time, but I think I should try to make things better between Lottie and Anthony—don’t tell him I said that.”
He pulled his brows together. “Sorry, you’ll try to make things better between them?”
“Yes.”
“Who are you and what did you do to my wife?”
Your heart skipped a beat at that but you bit back a smile, then heaved a sigh.
“What can I say? I’m very compassionate.”
He shot you a playful look before pointing at the house with his thumb. “Was there something in the lemonade?”
“I feel responsible,” you said. “And I don’t know, he’s—he’s family, so I should just at least try to patch things between them. Put in a good word and such.”
That made him smile before he cleared his throat.
“I don’t have to go, it’s just some party,” he insisted. “I’ll help you.”
“Lottie isn’t talking to you either, I doubt you’d be much of a help,” you reminded him and let out a laugh. “Go. I swear this is not me setting you up for…for a fight in the morning. I’ll make things better between those two and then go home. I doubt I’ll be able to talk to you when we go into that ballroom anyway, no reason for you to come with.”
He thought for a moment. “Are you sure?”
“Absolutely,” you said. “Go have fun. I’ll come with you to the other one, I promise.”
He looked at you as if trying to read your mind and took a deep breath.
“Okay,” he said. “I’ll be home early, okay? Definitely before you go to sleep.”
“Alright,” you said. “Well I have a very stubborn friend to convince, so if you’ll excuse me...”
He smiled softly, then held your hand to place a kiss on the back of it, making your heartbeat faster.
“I’ll see you in a couple of hours then.”
“Deal,” you said, your cheeks still burning. “Have fun, give everyone my regards.”
“Good luck with those two,” he said, nodding in the direction of the house before walking away from you and you heaved a sigh, then licked your lips.
“Alright,” you muttered, painfully aware of the smile on your face as you made your way to the house. “This should be interesting.”

One year later, thank you!
One year ago, on the day of my birthday, I released Arcadie: Second-Born.
It was both the best birthday of my life, and the most nerve-racking.
That day, I did one thing I had always wanted to do; to create something that would be 100% mine, and release it into the world.
This is going to sound very corny, but I feel the need to say it.
The only reason I can say that creating and releasing ASB was worth the two and half years spent working on it, is because of you.
Every comment, every like, every reblog, every ask, every fan art, every review, and of course, every purchase of the game. You've made it all so much worth it. You've made me remember how much I love writing.
You've changed my life, because you made me remember that I am allowed to dream. And that sometimes, dreams come true.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤

Tumblr media
#❤︎︎ — 𝖲𝖧𝖨𝖭𝖱𝖠 for starters. everyone knew. the WHOLE team knew he had a fat crush on you. for the many times of eating and venting to making, she adviced shinra to just go for It, he was 18, a full adult but he was still acting like he was 16. and just his luck arthur took notice of how nervous shinra was of the idea asking you out deciding to take his chances to make fun of him. which lead to both of them getting Into a tussle and getting a punishment from the captain.
leading to now.
"so you got cleaning duty huh?." you questioned plopping a grape In your mouth as you watched him with knitted eyebrows sweeping the ground, "If It weren't for that blonde bastard I wouldn't be here." he grumbled, humming In response eating another grape, "what did he do this time?." he paused his movements to think back to moments ago.
"there's no way you're this scared to ask her out dude." he laughed as shinra grumbled, "you don't know what you're talking about." he argued back but arthur chuckled again placing his sword down now facing him, "but I do. you don't have the balls to ask the girl you like out!. maybe..I should ask her out yeah? since the little devil foot doesn't have enough balls to—!" a loud thud echoed through the room as shinra tackled him to the ground strangely him.
pretty much what happened.
"shinra." you took him out his thoughts, looking up at you who had your head tilted to the side, "you ok?. you blanked out." you chuckled as shinra shook his head with a smile of him own, "yeah I'm fine, it wasn’t that big just disagreeing on some things.” he practically snarled at the last part but turned his attention back to you. you hummed eating another grape, “what did he say that made you get to this point?.” you questioned staring at him who looked down at the broom, “It was just something. nothing In Important.” he cleared his throat but you weren’t buying It, you squinted your eyes at him scoffing, “come here right quick.” he paused, “what?” — “I said come here.” you signaled him to where you were sitting and with no argument he walked towards you. he was standing right In front of you, raising a brow grabbing him by the shirt to pull him closer. “look me In the eyes right now and tell me It was just nothing.” shinra gulped down that huge lump In his throat with wide eyes, “I-It was nothing.” still not buying It, “youre stuttering..” you whispered seeing his eyes flick between your eyes and your lips.
you have no Idea what came over you but you got distracted getting lost In his eyes. It was just silence between the both of you, your head moved forward a little on Its In, fist gripping more Into his shirt as shinra started to lean In too. It was slow pace moving but the more seconds that counted down you felt his lips on yours. as you guys were about to lock lips, eyes half lidded a loud sound shocked you both. you both pulled back shocked about what was finna happen. shinra’s heart rushing as you’re did the same.
what was finna happen?
shinra cleared his throat stepping back a little to give you both distance. “I should get back to sweeping.” he mumbled and you hummed “yeah.” you bit your bottom lip grabbing the bowl of grapes hopping off the counter walking towards him, feeling flustered. "well don't let this small punishment get to you and whatever arthur told you. maybe this is a lesson learned to stop fighting, yeah?." you stood tall reaching to give his cheek a small peck, his cheeks turning red watching you smile then walk away, “If you need anything I’ll be In my room.” he placed a hand on his cheek feeling a grin himself form. he was so Inlove.
——
ever since the moment in the kitchen shinra's courage started to build up. today was the day where he was going to ask you out, he had everything planned. a nice beach picnic. great idea! especially since you love beaches It was perfect, since today was a free day he gotten up early to get all the stuff he needed, your favorite snacks, and drinks etc etc. the team was confused by the sudden energy shinra had, he was never this energetic—well he was energetic but not like this?. "what's gotten Into him?." captain obi asked sipping his morning coffee as maki shrugged, "maybe he's excited for something." hibana butts In rolling her eyes, "It's a sunday. what could he possibly be excited for." she asked annoyed seeing the boy rush past the kitchen to his room hearing a small slam, “whatever It Is let's let him be."
throughout the whole day shinra was non stop nervous about tonight. nervous If you would like It or not, would you come?..will you reject him.?. all these thoughts clouded his mind as he paced In his room, hands In his hair with no shirt on and ontop of that not knowing what to wear. what do people wear at beaches? bathing suits?? but It's gonna be cold. would you care about what he wears? many other times you would compliment him even If it wasn't that great of an outfit. why is he overthinking this much? you weren't judgmental you weren't any of that, you're a sweet and kind girl. yeah..you weren’t like that. he stopped pacing for a second taking a deep breath In calming down his nerves letting his thoughts focus on one thing.
making sure this date goes to plan.
after picking out an outfit he grabbed everything he bought today making his way to the location, he pulled out his phone and texted you.
———
shin ☄️
- meet me at this location In 10 minutes
- I’ll be waiting :)
———

ding
the sound of your phone going off took your attention away from the conversation you were having with maki and tamaki. 'meet me at this location In 10 minutes' from shinra, your heart sped but you quickly responded with a quick 'ok :)' putting your phone back In your pocket, "sorry girls but I have to go. we can continue this later!." you said rushing towards your room going straight Into your closet. "what should I wear..." was this the day? you finally get to be alone with him? just you both?? your heart was racing as you rushed through outfits. 3 minutes had went by and you found the perfect outfit.
Tumblr media
(or whatever you prefer! :))
lucky for you since base wasn't far from the beach It was a 5 minute walk, as you were walking up to the location shinra sent to you, you saw him. hearing foot steps step closer to him he looked up and his breath hitched. you looked so beautiful. you smiled at him nervously, but he was so lost In a gaze. when you didn’t hear him say anything you looked up be faced with brown eyes staring directly at you. you got surprised from the sudden eye contact was there something wrong with your outfit? did you put too much makeup on? Is there something on your face??. your eyebrows furrowed placing a hand on your face wiping It, “Is there something on my face?.” you asked and shinra’s eyes widened a bit shaking his head, “no! —no there’s nothing on your face.” this made you more suspicious dropping your arms to the side., “then what Is It? Is there something wrong?.” your facial expression was enough for him to shake his head Immediately no, “I— no! nothing It’s just..you’re.. really pretty— beautiful even. I’ve never seen you In a dress before.” he chuckled nervously rubbing a hand behind his neck as you began to feel flustered smiling, “wanted to dress nice, you know?.” you mumbled seeing him nod with small blush pulling out a blindfold, “I wanna show you something but It’s a surprise.”
you seen him hold the blindfold, looking at It then him, “do you trust me?.” almost Immediately you nodded, “of course I do.” shinra smiled walking up behind you to tie the blindfold around your eyes, your breath hitched a bit feeling him behind you, this was the first time you’ve been this close with him. after he was done tying the knot you felt his hands grab ahold of yours, “nothing will happen. It’s just me and you.” he said, taking a step back as you took a step forward following him. the distance from where he was taking you wasn’t that far. It was possibly only 3 minutes. It was nice, the warm sand under your feet as his hands were engulf with yours. you both stopped feeling his hands let go of yours, shinra walking up behind you to untie the blindfold. you blinked a couple of times before adjusting to what you saw In front of you, It was a picnic with your favorite snacks, and drinks laid out on the blanket.
your heart fluttered turning around to face a blushing shinra who looked at you nervously, “I wanted to do something special for you.” he said grabbing ahold of your hand leading you to the blanket, sitting down. you were still speechless, everything was so cute and romantic..a smile started to creep to your face, “shinra you didn’t have to do all of this.” you said looking back at him but he shrugged, “but I wanted too. you deserve It.”throughout the whole evening It was just you two talking and having a great time with each other, talking about your dreams, life goals, telling funny stories overall having a great time.
you chuckled dipping another strawberry In the chocolate dip staring back at shinra, “funny thing Is I was afraid of the ocean for a really long time.” you said taking a bite from the strawberry confusing shinra, “really?” you nodded, “yeah. ever since I was 4 I’ve been afraid of getting swept off shore to the middle of nowhere.” you laughed at the memory, “but once I turned 12 I got over my fears and ever since I fell In love with the ocean. the breeze, the smell..” the ocean was your favorite place to go, to read, to relax even to train. shinra gave you a hum. “so Is that why half the time when we train on our own you’re gone?.” you turned to face him nodding your head, “yeah. It’s just easier for me to concentrate.” you placed down the stem of the strawberry where the rest were wiping your hands off.
shinra didn’t say anything but slowly nodded his head, but something caught his attention. you had some bits of chocolate on your face, he reached his hand to be placed on your cheek taking you by surprised feeling him turn your head a little. he scooted a little closer to you, using his bottom thumb to wipe the chocolate away. you stayed quiet. when he got the chocolate off your face he just..kept his hand there, staring at you. you’re so much prettier up close. the sound of the water crashing together and the slight cold breeze brushing against you, you didn’t wanna ruin the moment by moving so you sat there. eyes staring back at each other as shinras eyes flickered back and fourth between your eyes and lips. you caught noticed of this, breath hitching. his head slowly started moving towards you as you did the same, you felt his breath hit your lips as they barley touched. before they could engulf each other shinra paused, “can I kiss you?.” he whispered. you didn’t say anything but nodded your head, “yes..” when shinra got the green light he closed his eyes taking your lips with his.
your heart started to do back flips kissing him back. It was slow and gentle but started to get slightly rough like he was waiting for this moment. shinra’s hand glided towards your waist giving them a small squeeze pulling you by them to be closer with him. your chest hitting his made him groan In between the kiss as your hands were wrapped around his neck tilting your head to deepen It. the moment lasted for a few minutes before you were the first to pull back. you smiled as shinra looked stunned. did he really just do that? “I..uhm.” he began to stutter with a small blush, “I have something to tell you.” you looked at him with confusion, tilting your head, “what’s up?.” he breathed In and out going to engulf yours hands with his squeezing them, looking up at you with soft eyes. those red eyes staring back at you. “would you wanna go out with me?. I know we just kissed and all but.” he nervously laughed, “would you want to go out with me?.”
thought he would never ask.
“I would love too.”
— ❤︎︎❤︎︎ —
shinra Is the type to be really overprotective but not In a toxic way. knowing that he has a girlfriend now the people coming after him would be coming after you more. more like you’re their target so he always sticks besides you like glue to make sure you’re safe.
he’s gets jealous whenever arthur would “flirt” with you to just get under his skin but you would calm him down every time kissing or hugging him knowing you only wanted him and no one else.
would take you out on weekly dates, like watching a movie, having dinner, lunch, going shopping, etc. definitely will spoil you on special occasions, like christmas, your birthday, valentine’s day. you would always get mad at him and feel bad for the amount of stuff he gets you but he would always tell you that you deserve everything In the world. cheesy but you liked cheesy.
loves cuddling you. like all the time, whenever you guys are free from training with the group all you guys do Is be all cuddly with each other, It’s makes the team sick. when watching a movie, when laying In bed. he was also really clingy, loves holding your hand or kissing your cheek whenever you don’t expect It.
he would totally have you as his pfp on Instagram to let people know that he was taken. he loved showing you off.
would still constantly get nervous around you but It was In a loving way, whenever you would place your hand on his cheek when speaking to him, pecking his lips with your soft ones, running your hand through this hair..everyday he reminds himself. he was lucky to have you.

Also I apologize, but I do not have the ability to donate to you. Trust me if I had the ability I would but I don't and I can't. I have no bank account or credit card to transfer money to and no job to gain any money. Every time I ask my parents to help they shut me down so this is the only way to help you. Please forgive me.

Love Game (Toji Fushiguro x Fem!Reader) [Chapter 26 : I Give Up ❤]
Tumblr media
It was lunchtime, and you were hunched over your desk, trying to finish up some paperwork. You took a sip of your coffee, rubbing your temples, when the door to your office suddenly opened. You peeked over your documents to see your workmate, Hiro smirking at you.
"Hey. Someone's down at the lobby for you. Looks like that person is not leaving anytime soon." Hiro informed you, his grin growing wider.
You raised an eyebrow, setting your pen down. "Who could it be?" You asked, curious. There were only a few people you knew personally in this line of work, and none of them would wait in the lobby for you.
Hiro winked, "Better go check it out. He also brought something nice for you!"
You gasped, already knowing who it could be. "Toji..." you muttered, standing up.
"Go get him, Detective. We'll take care of this pile of paperwork for you." Hiro joked, motioning to the stack of papers in front of you.
"Shut up, Hiro." You retorted, rolling your eyes at him.
You left your office, making your way to the lobby, your heart beating faster as you descended the stairs. When you reached the bottom, there he was, Toji, with a bouquet of flowers and a box from the French bakery.
Your coworkers whistled and cheered, teasing you mercilessly. "Looks like Toji's trying to win you over, Detective!" One of them shouted.
You blushed, glaring at them before walking up to Toji. "What's this?" You asked, gesturing to the bouquet and the box.
Toji handed you the flowers, "These are for you. I thought you might like them."
You took the flowers, admiring them, and then opened the box, revealing a box of éclairs. "I remembered you mentioned you loved these, so I got you some." Toji added, smirking.
You looked at the box of éclairs, your eyes widening. "Toji, these éclairs are expensive!" You exclaimed, giving him a worried look.
Toji chuckled, "Don't worry about the price. I got paid a lot during this previous mission." He assured you, patting your head.
You glanced at the bouquet and the box, feeling overwhelmed by his generosity. "Toji, why are you doing this? You didn't have to spend so much money on me." You asked, genuinely concerned.
He leaned in closer, his voice low and gentle. "I said one month, remember? I'm working hard to win you over. Don't be surprised by my actions anymore." He replied, smiling at you.
You softly smiled at him, appreciating his sweet gestures."Come on, let's eat these in the canteen. I'm sure they'll taste better when shared." You said, leading the way with a smile.
In the canteen, you both found a table and settled down. You took a bite of your éclair, savoring the delicious filling. Conversation flowed naturally between the two of you, and the atmosphere was comfortable.
Midway through your snack, your pen slipped from your grip, falling onto the floor. Before you could react, Toji swiftly moved his hand, covering the edge of the table. It was an instinctive action, preventing your head from hitting the table's corner.
Your eyes met his, and you realized what he had done. A warm flush crept up your cheeks, and you fumbled with your napkin. "Thanks... I would've hit my head pretty hard." You murmured, looking down at your food.
Toji chuckled, "Anytime." he said, winking at you.
As the conversation continued, Toji noticed a chocolate stain beside your lip, and without thinking, he gently reached out, wiping it away using his thumb. His touch was so subtle and delicate, and it sent shivers down your spine.
You froze for a second, feeling your heart race. You quickly grabbed a napkin and dabbed your lips, trying to regain composure. "Um... thanks, Toji." You managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper.
Toji smirked, leaning back in his chair, "My pleasure." He replied, his eyes never leaving yours.
From that moment on, you knew that Toji's charm offensive was working. The days passed, and Toji kept his promise, showering you with affection, gifts, and sweet gestures. And you found yourself slowly falling for him.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
You tossed and turned inside your bedroom, clinging tightly to your pillow. Sweat trickled down your forehead as your mind raced, trying to pinpoint exactly when these confusing emotions had started to grow.
"It must've been yesterday, right? No, wait. Maybe it was last two weeks when Toji bought me those flowers and éclairs. That's it. It's definitely last two weeks." you argued with yourself in your head.
But as you delved deeper into your memories, you realized that it wasn't a few weeks ago. It wasn't yesterday either. You recalled the time when you first met Toji. You remembered how he'd always been a jerk, but there was something about him that made you smile. "No way. He's an Assassin, for god's sake!" you protested, trying to convince yourself that your feelings for him were nothing more than mere infatuation.
But as you lay there, your heart ached, and your mind refused to accept the truth. "No-no-no, it can't be. It doesn't make any sense!" you tried to reason with yourself.
Yet, as you closed your eyes, you saw Toji's face and those piercing dark blue eyes. You felt your heart skip a beat, and you couldn't help but smile. "Oh, great. I'm screwed. Completely and utterly screwed." you grumbled, throwing the covers aside.
You quietly slipped out of bed, padding barefoot across the floor as you made your way to the kitchen. You needed a glass of water, and you hoped to sneak by without disturbing Toji. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for you.
As you reached for the glasses, you heard the creak of Toji's bedroom door opening. You froze on the spot. You could practically sense his presence looming behind you, his heat radiating against your back.
"Can't sleep, Detective?" He asked, his voice husky with sleep.
You jumped, spinning around to face him, your hands flying to cover your chest. "Don't sneak up on people like that! You scared the shit out of me." You scolded.
Toji chuckled, stretching his arms above his head. "Sorry. I thought I heard you moving around. What's keeping you up tonight, huh? Worried about work or something else? Or is it because of me?
You blushed, trying to hide your embarrassment. "No, it's not because of you, Toji! I'm just having trouble sleeping, that's all." You insisted, your voice shaking.
Toji stepped closer, "Well, if it's me keeping you up, I can fix that." He said, his voice laced with seduction.
You gulped, your eyes widening, "N-No, Toji, it's fine. I'm good." You stammered, taking a step back, your cheeks burning hotter.
Toji chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eye as he flicked your forehead lightly. "Just kidding. I'm just teasing you. I'll let you go back to sleep now."
Before Toji could turn around, you suddenly reached out, grabbing his shirt, and leaned your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. The sudden gesture made Toji nervous, but he didn't push you away.
"A-are you... are you okay?" He asked, his voice wavering slightly.
You stayed silent, your face still pressed against his chest. You took a deep breath, finally pulling away from him. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." You apologized, averting your gaze.
Toji's eyes traced your features, his gaze lingering on your lips for a moment before he met your eyes again. "It's alright. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to do that." He replied, his voice soft.
You looked at him, surprise flashing across your face. "You are?" You questioned, tilting your head slightly.
"Yes. I'm happy you trusted me enough to do that." He said, his eyes never leaving yours.
You hesitated for a moment, then gently took Toji's hand, guiding it to rest over your heart. "Feel it. My heart is racing, and I don't know what's happening to it." You whispered, looking up at him.
Toji's eyes softened, his thumb gently tracing the outline of your heartbeat. "Is this because of me?" He asked, his voice barely audible.
You nodded, biting your lower lip. "Yes. It's because of you." You confessed, your voice quivering.
Toji gave you a questioning look, his brow furrowing slightly. "Me?" He repeated.
You simply smiled at him, and squeezed his hand gently.
Toji opened his mouth to speak, but you placed a finger on his lips, silencing him. "Goodnight, Toji." You whispered, releasing his hand and turning around to walk back to your room.
As you reached the doorway, you paused, glancing back at him. "By the way, you're giving me a hard time here, aren't you?" You said, a playful note in your voice.
Toji blinked, taken aback by your statement. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing." You said with a chuckle, as you closed the door behind you.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
You were sprawled on the couch, your laptop open as you scoured through a stack of files. It was your day off, and you want to make the most of it by catching up on some work.
Toji, who had been quietly sipping his coffee in the corner, suddenly looked up, his eyes narrowing. "You're working on your day off? What's so important that you can't even spend a day relaxing?" He asked.
You looked up from your screen, frowning "Just trying to clear up some loose ends, that's all. I can't afford to slack off, you know."
Toji sighed, putting his coffee down and standing up. "Come on, let's take a break. I'll make us some breakfast." He said, heading towards the kitchen.
You hesitated for a moment, then closed your laptop, following him. "Fine, but just for a little while." You agreed, your stomach growling in hunger as you haven't eaten anything since last night.
As you entered the kitchen, you couldn't help but notice how Toji was dressed. He was wearing a nice shirt and pants, his damp hair intensifying his sex appeal. You raised an eyebrow, "You look nice today. Got a date or something?" You teased, yet your heart was secretly hoping that Toji wasn't doing this for another woman.
Toji chuckled, "No, I don't have a date. I'm just trying to look presentable."
You leaned against the counter, watching him as he prepared breakfast. "You're not going to tell me the truth, are you?" You asked, a knowing smile on your face.
Toji glanced at you, his expression serious. "I haven't been with a woman since I got out of the hospital. I'm not interested in anyone right now. I'm only interested in you." He confessed, staring at you.
Your breath hitched, and you could feel your heart pounding in your chest. "Toji..." you whispered, your voice barely audible.
He turned around, his eyes locking with yours. "I mean it. I only want you." He repeated, his voice serious and filled with conviction.
You took a step back, feeling your face heat up. "S-Stop making things awkward, Toji. I-I'm not sure what to say to that." You stammered, your voice shaking.
Toji closed the distance between you in an instant, his lips a breath away from yours. "I'm not going to stop until you say yes, Detective. I'm not going to stop. I'm going to keep trying to win you over until you're mine."
Your heart raced as Toji closed the gap between you. And before you knew it, your instincts took over. Panic set in, and without thinking, you headbutted Toji, making his nose bleed.
You stumbled back, your hands covering your face in shock, "Shit, I'm sorry, Toji. I didn't mean to do that!" You exclaimed, your voice trembling.
Toji's hand immediately went to his nose, his eyes wide with surprise. "What the hell?!" He exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief.
You didn't give him a chance to say anything else. You turned around, practically running to your bedroom, and slamming the door shut behind you.
From behind the door, you heard Toji's voice, "You know, Y/N, you're the only woman who's ever headbutted me." He said, sounding amused.
~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~
Over the next few days, Toji continued his gestures, and you found yourself falling deeper into his web of affection. He would tease you, inching his face away from yours as he talked, just to see you blush.
You'd find him leaning in close, whispering in your ear. And you knew that he was doing all of this on purpose.
Toji's actions were like a siren's call, drawing you further into his world. You tried playing it cool. But Toji's antics only served to fan the flames of your growing affection. He charmed his way into your heart, making you realize that he was the one you couldn't live without. He was the one you couldn't resist.
[A day later...]
Toji showed up at the precinct, waiting for you to finish up your paperwork. He had a duffel bag over his shoulder, and a grin plastered on his face. "I left the car back at the apartment, so let's just walk for today."
You raised an eyebrow, amused. "You're serious?"
He chuckled, "Yup. I'm serious."
You gathered your stuff, Toji offering to carry your things for you. You accepted, feeling grateful for his sweetness.
As you walked side by side, your hands brushed against each other. This sudden action made you blushed, and you looked away.
Toji's eyes traced your features, his grip on your things tightening. He hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether he should do it or not. Then his gaze met yours, and before you knew it, Toji reached out his hand to hold yours. "I'm sorry for scaring you the other day. I was just trying to win you over."
You looked back at him, your heart racing, but you didn't pull away. Instead, you intertwined your fingers with his.
"I guess I can't blame you for trying.." You replied, smiling.
As you walked side by side, your hands still intertwined, you couldn't help but steal glances at Toji. He looked so confident, so in control, and you couldn't help but admire that about him.
Your gaze shifted to your hands, and you felt your heart swell at the sight. For the first time in your life, you felt comfortable, you felt safe. You felt like you could be yourself around Toji.
You couldn't take it anymore. You stopped walking, causing Toji to stop as well, a look of confusion on his face. "Toji." you started, your voice trembling. "I give up." you said, your eyes meeting his.
Toji furrowed his brows, his eyes searching yours. "Give up on what?" He asked, concern etched in his tone.
You smiled, your heart beating wildly against your chest. "I couldn't deny it anymore, Toji......I'll admit it."
"I've fallen for you, Fushigiro Toji..." you confessed, your voice barely audible as you smiled at him.
Toji felt like the world had stopped spinning. Everything around him seemed to slow down, and his eyes widened in disbelief. He dropped the things he was carrying, as he felt his heart started beating fast inside his chest.
Without saying anything, he pulled you closer, and Toji sealed your confession with a sweet, gentle kiss on the lips.
"Finally." he whispered, his voice laced with a hint of humor and love. "I was starting to think I'd have to chase after you for the rest of my life." Toji broke the kiss, looking deeply into your eyes, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You blushed, your cheeks flushed. "I'm sorry, Toji. It's just hard for me to admit my feelings." You replied, biting your lower lip.
"Don't be sorry. I'm glad you finally admitted it. I've been waiting for this moment." He said, cupping your cheek with his hand.
You smiled, leaning into his touch. "Well, I'm glad you were persistent, Toji. I wouldn't have admitted it otherwise."
"Well, I'm glad I'm persistent. It paid off, didn't it?
"Yes, it did."
