3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

oooh hmm theres a lot i loved writing this year - the climactic scene at the end of let it all come undone was very fun to write, because it was big and chan truly fighting for the first time, no holding back, the desperation and angst in it was delicious!! i also loved writing chan and big inspecting each others hands for injury in shelter, the way chan does it first and big is surprised by the intimacy of the gesture and very quietly overwhelmed by the care, and then impulsively asks to do the same for chan. and of course that moment when you think theyre going to kiss but get interrupted!! Chan's gaze was burning into his downturned one, so close that Big could almost feel it on his face. Full of his body and separate from it at the same time, his heartbeat throbbing in his ears, Big brushed his thumbs across Chan's fingers, right below the knuckles. Chan's hands tightened slightly, reflexively, hot around Big's fingers. Big inhaled sharply and looked up. Chan was watching him, his gaze soft and hot, unexpectedly intimate. Every word that Big had felt stripped away from him. If Big didn't know better, he would have thought Chan was about to kiss him.

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write

i didnt expect to write so much but the one that TRULY took me by surprise was here kitty, kitty because i literally got the idea in the morning and wrote it in one day in a kind of fever dream, laughing at myself for how self-indulgent it was, just genuinely having a good time writing it!! i also didnt expect to write sunburnt but then nodt dropped those heatstroke photoshoot-inspired pics and was like i HAVE to write this into a fic somehow

19. any new fics to start next year

mayyyybeeee hehehe yes i wrote some small ones over the holidays and the one im working on rn is the chan pov fic, starting from when big first gets hired and following them through the years as they become closer and chan falls for big and sees big fall for kinn, all the way through canon - except they both survive and then get together in/after recovery 💕 i think exploring chans backstory would be fun!! and lots of pining ofc i still want to do grindr!AU and skater fic, and maybe a lil smutty fic where chan bottoms 🤔

would be funny, if Nina had a gf, and due to Johan's tendency to see him and nina as the same, he'd drop by casually, disguised or not, while nina is away. What's wrong? Nina is him and he's Nina! There's no complications with kissing him! You're basically kissing his sister! (Eaten ask)

Could you imagine bidding your girlfriend, Nina, goodbye after she spent the whole evening at your place? You whine and beg her to stay longer, clinging onto her, but she rolls her eyes playfully and insists she has to go.

She gives you a loving parting kiss on your lips, then plants even more– on your nose, cheeks, and finally your forehead– before she reluctantly pulls away. Any more, she jests, and she won’t be able to leave.

"You know I hate leaving you like this," she laughs softly. "But don't worry, I'll make up for today once my exams are over. Okay?"

She gives you one last final kiss before finally leaving, waving at you as she walks down the street.

You sigh and close the door, already missing her.

You really love Nina, but sometimes it feels like she doesn’t have much time for you. You understand she has her exams, a part-time job, and aikido training, which doesn’t really leave much left for you. Still, you can’t help but feel a bit greedy, wishing she’d at least dedicate a part of her to you. You're her girlfriend, after all.

You sigh one last time. No use.

She’s already spread too thin, and you know if you tell her your concern, she’ll worry and try to double her efforts to make time for you. No way in hell are you going to give her any more stress in her life. Although today was just half a day together, you're grateful. Even if it left you unbelievably craving, aching for more…

You hear a soft knock on your door. Is it Nina? Did she forget something? Oh, your prayers have been answered. You just wanted one more second with her. You open the door immediately, an excited smile on your face.

"What did you forget this ti-"

"Missing me already?"

You freeze, standing dumbfounded. In front of you is not, in fact, your girlfriend, but a tall, blonde man smiling softly at you.

"I'm… I'm sorry. I don't— Do I know you?" you ask, trying to stay cool. He must have the wrong house to ask something like that so proudly. You’ve never met him before.

His smile doesn’t falter at your question. He continues looking at you, his eye contact unwavering.

"You do." he answers, calmly leaving no explanation, still smiling softly.

You’re getting nervous. He keeps staring and smiling at you. You try to get a good look at him. Is he a mutual friend? An old classmate? A person you pissed off once? You’re at a blank. Though… the more you look at him, the more you notice how similar he looks to… to your… what the hell.

Why does he... look... a bit like Nina?

No. You chalk it off. He just has blonde hair and blue eyes, and the fact you’re missing your girlfriend terribly doesn’t help. But even then, their facial features strike a matching resemblance. It’s a bit uncanny.

You let out a nervous laugh and smile sheepishly at him. "Look, I’m really racking my brain here. Have we met before? I’m really sorry if I can’t recall…"

You give him his cue to introduce himself, to remind you who he is, to be offended at you forgetting—anything! He’s just standing there, staring down with that same smile. Your eyes dart around, seeing if this is a prank. A small uneasy pit forms in your stomach.

A beat passes by. You still wait for his reply.

You can't help but start feeling creeped out. Stupid. Always ask who’s there before opening the door. Just ask him what he wants with you and get it out of the way.

"Hey uh, I-"

He kisses you, his lips softly crashing against yours, hands gently cradling the back of your neck. He’s not forceful, but his hold is steady. You squirm and try to break free, but he quickly shushes you and holds you closer, entrapping your lips in another long kiss.

You think of quickly think of biting him, but he gently pulls away right before you can go through with the thought. His hands come up to tenderly cup your face, his thumb softly brushing against your cheek as he looks at you.

Your vision begins to blur from your tears, your legs wobbling from the fear of the situation.

"I don't know you!" you practically scream out. Your desperation kicks in as you continue to panic. "P-Please. please. please. I'm sorry. I don't know you. I don't… I don't… please… I-."

You cry softly, pleading with him. He just continues cradling your face in his hands, looking at you with that godawful eerie smile. He leans back in, slowly murmuring,

"Shh…"

He continues peppering kisses all over your wet cheeks. "You do know me," he whispers, kissing your nose. "And you know I need to make it up to you," he says, kissing your forehead. He hums softly and leaves another final chaste kiss on your lips.

"And you know I hate leaving you like this."

Ok so about Johan why did he exactly kill the fortners?I understand why he left her at the fortners but then why did he come back after 9 years and kills them and hhen he wants to see her? Like what was his plan exactly

The tragedy of being one

This is the tragedy of twins: Johan is obsessed with the idea of being Nina and Nina being him, a single being separated into two entities, but a single being nonetheless.

Shoot me. You are me and I am you.

What Johan wants for Nina is not for her sake, but for her to remain himself. Or more precisely, as her identity has been suppressed by her mother, to be Nina.

Johan isn't angry with Tenma for saving him, but he knows that by saving the monster, Tenma himself has prevented Nina from finding happiness.

You saved my life 9 years ago. Have you already forgotten about the twins?

There's something that I find is often overlooked in the analysis of the beginning, and which will be of vital importance later on. Tenma had to answer a dilemma, save the mayor or save a little boy, but in reality, another silent dilemma arose immediately afterwards, save Johan or save Nina? Because in reality, throughout the work, Tenma is trying to make up for his mistake, not just saving Johan, and therefore killing him as Nina had aspired to do, but also saving Nina whom he had condemned. 

Who was she trying to save ? Me ? Or my sister? Which of us ?

It's clear from the beginning that as long as Johan is close and alive, even in a comatose state, Nina is no more. The little girl in hospital needs to heal, just like her brother. The climax of all this comes when Johan ‘wakes up’ and Nina faints. They can no longer be two, they are condemned to be one. 

It's towards the end that we realise that this dilemma has conditioned the twins' existence: who between Johan and Nina? Tenma will have to answer the question. If he doesn't kill Johan, it's not just because he's afraid to kill, it's because he doesn't know how to answer it.

If Johan had actually been killed by Nina that night, Nina would finally have been happy, because the monster would no longer be there. Above all, death was the only way for Johan to be "happy", because Nina is him, and if she is happy, he would have been happy. But if he lives, he's not cut out for happiness. And because Nina is him, she can't hope for happiness and a loving family.

Johan contacts Nina as Prince Charming on his white horse who will cover Nina with flowers. It sounded weirdly romantic, but in reality the symbolism is something else. In the apocalypse, Death is a white knight. And the flowers only evoke those placed on graves for mourners. Johan wants to cover Nina in flowers. Or lose his loved ones.

Don't tell me you think Prince Charming on his white knight is going to come and get you ?

For Johan, attacking the Fortners was inevitable. The name alone is a problem : Fortner. People who gave Nina a name. A name that she's not supposed to have. Giving herself an identity is what sets Johan apart. And he won't allow it. To return, he has to empty this identity.

It is for this symbolic reason that Nina suffers from amnesia. Obviously because she's traumatised. But also because the more she embraces Nina, the less she is Johan, so the more her memories of him crumble.

That's why, automatically, when Johan kills the Fortners, Nina remembers having killed him. Suddenly faced with death (the white knight) and loneliness (smother with flowers), Nina remembers the existence of her twin, Johan.

I killed him.

Why did Johan wait so long ? I think we still need to answer this from a philosophical point of view. Johan wanted to see Nina again. She is him, he is her, she is the only being that matters. But the Fortners were just in the way.

Are they really on their way when they didn't really know about this meeting? They have in themselves interfered by giving Nina a name. Johan is nevertheless concerned about Nina's happiness because I think he really tried to give her access to a form of healing and peace. He wanted to die so that she could be happy without the monster inside him. Then, when she rejected him in hospital, he let her live without him.

I'd also like to point out that Johan changed his motivation after recovering some of his memories. Which will in fact be Anna's. By reading the story about the nameless monster. Before that, I think Johan's amnesia gave him a kind of block. And he himself was afraid of what he described as a monster. Who was actually Bonaparte visiting them at the Liebert house.

Johan could never trust adults so he didn't trust the Fortners any more.

You'll run away so the monster doesn't catch you.

I think Johan's conclusion was that the only person he could trust was Doctor Tenma. So he left it to him to explore a past that he wanted to keep forgotten. I think he really did entrust Nina to him at the castle. Because Johan was there! He shot the henchman who was going to kidnap Nina. He was there when Nina met Tenma.

Why didn't he show up? Because he realised that Nina wasn't ready. Because she fainted when she saw him. She couldn't see Johan, the reflection of a past she didn't have the key to.

He killed the Fortners on Nina's birthday. A random date set for a nameless orphan with no history. Johan came to give meaning to this birthday. The day of Anna's rebirth.

And Johan's rebirth. Everything he did, he did for himself too. He has no name. Nina had to lose her family, she had to have a name without any substance. What are the Fortners without their parents? There is no longer a Fortner family.

The nameless monster simply ate his escaped second half.

One went east, the other west.

Then the monster who had gone west said to him. We don't need a name. You can be very happy without a name. Because we are the nameless monsters.

The little boy ate the monster from the west.

here's a snippet from this time travel AU were James ends up in the future is in need of Regulus and Sirius' help to get back to his time:

“Come in!” James answered after the first knock. 

“Hey, how was your day with Sirius? I heard you got a new phone.” Regulus was standing by the frame, he had never been in James’ room. He was always careful of not overstepping any boundries with him.

“I did! Do you want to register your number? Register... Is that how you say it?” 

Regulus melted as the man in front of him adjusted his glasses and looked at his phone. James examined his device carefully and touched every part of the screen until he finally clicked ‘add contact’ and handed the phone to Regulus. 

“Sure, I will register my number.” Regulus’ eyes soften as he watched James light up by his answer. He quickly typed his contact information and returned the phone. 

“What’s wrong?” Regulus asked when he saw James’ confused look. 

“Sirius added a picture next to the name, how do you do that?”

“Picture?” James hands him his phone again with Sirius’ contact showing. It had the dog emoji next to the name ‘Padfoot’. Regulus smiled and tried his hardest to conceal his chuckle. Adorable.

He sat next to James on the edge of the bed and extended his hand to ask for the phone back. James quickly obliged. 

“Here." Regulus opened the keyboard, switched to the emojis and allowed James to decide which one he wanted.

“There! I like this one.” James passed the phone back and Regulus’ felt butterflies when he looked at the screen. Next to his name was a star. Bright and pretty.

“Do you like it?”

“I do actually.” 

Suddenly he was very aware, that he was in James’ room, sitting on his bed and a sudden blush started creeping to his cheeks. 

“I better go,” he whispered. Trying to convince himself that leaving was better, that he shouldn’t allow himself moments like this with James. 

“Uh- yeah, it’s getting late.” James’ replied quietly, like a little kid who wasn’t ready to go to sleep but that knew better than to through a tantrum.

Regulus stood up hesitantly, he hated that he wanted James to ask him to stay longer. He walked towards the door and James called on him. 

“Wait! You haven’t registered my number. What if you need to call me?” 

Regulus smiled to himself and turned around to hand his phone. James slowly typed his number and handed it back. 

“You chose the picture.” Regulus simply nodded in response. 

Once in his room, he unlocked his phone and looked at James’ contact.

“This will do,” he whispered to himself as he added a sun next to James’ name.

Well, tbh, the Namine being like Riku Replica idea just came off the top of my head. I thought of Namine being a clone of Kairi as a way to keep her (Namine) more in the story instead of Namine being a Nobody. Like merging the roles of Riku Replica and Namine. Like the Organization was trying to create their own Princess of Heart. Idk. Just throwing around ideas.

Btw, your art is beautiful if I do say so myself. What about making outfits for Kairi when she goes to Arendelle? And maybe draw a version of Elsa's iconic dress for Kairi? Sorry if I am asking too much, but i think Kairi would look amazing in a dress like Elsa's. Though would be hard to feel comfortable in because Elsa made her dress through her magic. You know. Ice. Haha.

First, thank you so much for your patience! That's an interesting idea! I've been away from this AU and need to review everything to get back in that headspace. However, your ask was never far from my mind, and I have been thinking about potential Arendelle designs. I am also never adverse to putting Kairi in different outfits even if I am also not sure how she'd make the Elsa dress haha

For Arendelle in general, I looked at Frozen's concept art as well as the costumes from the show Once Upon a Time when they did Frozen/Arendelle to brainstorm different outfits. I really was hooked by the embroidery in the outfits, and Kairi has certain designs associated with her like her petal heart in KH 3: Re Mind as well as the Thalassa shells, Radiant Garden flowers, etc that I think whatever her outfit, there would be embroidery that featured those symbols.

I got carried away and started sketching out little interactions too haha! I wasn't in love with how KH 3 did Frozen and I am interested in spending more time with Elsa and how Kairi and her would interact, particularly once it is revealed that Anna and her are princesses of light. I wonder if Kairi would be able to sense that? However, I think how Sora related to the situation between Anna and Elsa through his own relationship with Riku would also work with Kairi! Marinette’s mascara was clumpy.

She meant to buy a new tube last week—it was on her mental to-do list, along with seventeen thousand other tasks that could probably wait until next week: washing her sheets, cleaning out her desk drawer, throwing out the pile of discarded fabric shreds from her last project.

As it always was in Marinette’s life, things had come up. Akumas, mostly.

She jammed the mascara wand back into the tube, over and over, but it stayed a thick goopy mess. She could either smear the tar-like substance onto her eyes and pretend it looked fine, or—well. Or nothing. She had thirty minutes to get downtown.

Thirty minutes until she needed to be seated for Alya’s award ceremony.

Thirty minutes until she had to be completely fine, chill, supportive.
