I don't think I have any good advice. Seriously. Or at least nothing that isn't just repeating things other, more eloquent people can say. I've answered asks like this a few times here, here, here, and here, if you find anything useful among those, but most of it boils down to 1. using complimentary colors 2. using other pieces of art as inspiration and 3. trusting your gut

If I had to pick one of those three points to emphasize, definitely the part about using other art as inspiration – branch out. Buy old art textbooks, look at online galleries, etc. It's important to me that my digital art feels at least somewhat grounded in actual painting techniques/color schemes/textures because that's something I admire in the art that I personally like, but other than that I don't think very hard about the color schemes I use 90% of the time so it's really hard for me to answer things like this

Hi, I'm not sure if this will be any help but what I usually do when frontstuck for a while and unable to recall any permanence, I ask others in my life. For the last times someone else was out, the differences between us. I try to remember those times in detail and can't. Your system may work very differently than mine. But it mostly helps to remind myself.

The class you were trying to calm down were all talking amongst themselves, too excited to listen to anything you were trying to tell them. You couldn���t blame them for the exciting field trip that was going to start today. It was something everyone had been looking forward to for the longest time so you couldn’t be mad at them for being this enthusiastic about something that was finally happening.

“Hey guys, come on…Just because it’s a trip doesn’t mean we can speak over Miss Y/l/n,” You glanced over at the door to see your colleague Mr Kim Seungmin standing there, he must have been walking past when he noticed you struggling to get the groups attention. Normally they were one of the most behaved groups in the school but today it was as if they could no longer contain their energy for the trip ahead and had to let it out one way or not another. The class turned to look at Seungmin and stopped talking when they noticed what he was wearing, it was strange to them to see their teachers out of their normal school attire. Instead of the usual suit that he would be sporting, he was in some sweats and a hoodie since the bus ride that you were going to be on was almost two hours long. You’d chosen to come along in your sweats and a hoodie as well since you didn’t want to spend the ride uncomfortable, most of the kids had dressed up fancy despite being told about the long drive and that the first night there would be a quiet night in to get used to their sleeping arrangements.

The whole of your first-grade students was going on a week-long trip to Gyeongju-si as a small incentive for being such good students that had been excellent in the school year. Those who had disciplinary records or were in trouble throughout the year weren’t allowed on the trip and were to stay behind with the other grades. Of course, it wasn’t just you and Seungmin that would be leading the school trip, it would be far too much to handle for just the two of you. There were a team of teachers going along with all 56 students including you, Seungmin, English teacher Bang Chan, Science teacher Felix, headteacher Minho, IT teacher Hyunjin, Music teacher Changbin, Art teacher Jisung and form tutor Jeongin along with a couple of other PA’s that were able to help out. All of the teachers knew each other very well and got along, it was one of the conditions you had of going on the trip. You wanted to make sure the teachers were able to get along well with one another as well as looking after the students in an appropriate manner, knowing when to draw the line at certain things they would be doing. People that could be trusted with the children aged 15-17 and knew how to care for them and discipline them appropriately if needed.

This was a project I made for FTH 2024! The bidder wanted a little McSpirk story, so I wrote this up (although they suggested the mind/body/soul connection, an excellent point!). Me before completing the forest temple: okay I get that ocarina of time is fun and nostalgic for people but it’s a bit of a stretch to call it one of the greatest video games of all time

Me after completing the forest temple: By revealing that Link is not a Kokiri, but a Hylian, the game effectively strips him of his humble origins amongst a group of people that already fail to recognize him in his adult form. Thus, kokiri village instantly becomes a location that is no longer Link’s home in any sense, exacerbated by the fact that the game now loads up in the temple of time instead of Link’s bedroom— he is a stranger in the only place that has ever been familiar to him and he is depressingly reduced to his destiny alone. However, the subsequent introduction of the time travel mechanic, which allows the player to travel from the horrific apocalyptic future back to the idyllic past of Link’s childhood, gives new meaning to the idea of this “destiny”. In effect, Link is not a stock “chosen one”, but a protagonist who consciously decides to fight onwards. Link’s dual existence as a child who knows the grim future and as an adult who was powerless to stop disaster gives a sort of desperation to his character, because while it brings the player relief to revisit the Castle Town that is populated by cheerful villagers instead of lurking zombies, the story can only be progressed through the acknowledgement of reality — the decision to make those seven years pass again. Therefore, both the player and Link as a character must be proactive in their heroism and make the conscious choice to struggle onwards despite the darkness that permeates—
