Before you read this next question:

I was informed that it would be a good idea for my questions to be answered with a specific tag so if people wish to block it they could. Please tag your answers to any question I send you with "dmc questions anon" and I think that should work.

How would you rank the 5 games in the Devil May Cry series? (By story)

Okay, I'm gonna do everything together, but i will preface this by saying i have a lot more exposure to some things than others, thus I will have varying degrees of 'much to say'.

DMC 5

I'm definitely biased for this (it's the one that got me into the franchise) but I digress.

FAMILY THEMES BABI MY FAVORITE THING

I just adore the main cast so much u do not understand. So much hype shit happens with em too, it's great. The characters are simultaneously over the top but also very real? Like Dante is the wacky woo-hoo pizza man but also horribly in control of his emotions and how to express them.

The Vergil reveal was so obvious but I dont care. It's good. The depths given to his character through V and Urizen are VERY good.

And NERO- lord everyone in this family has trauma

Also SDT was introduced in this game I'm sorry but no piece of DMC media will be able to top this because of it.

2. DMC 3

is anyone surprised

I love the bois so much, with their stupid catchphrases and horrible family dynamics. it's so weird looking at them like

I was nighteen once. I wasn't like them but I was nighteen.

Also the THEMES once again center around family, especially with the addition of Lady and Arkum. I also love this cast SO MUCH

except arkum fuck arkum all the homies hate arkum

Literally the only reason this is lower than DMC 5 is because no Nero, Trish or Nico. That's it.

3. Visions of V

i haven't talked about him much but I would also gently hold V (and by extension Vergil)

Really I just love this manga because of how much is shown and revealed through it. Everything is really visceral and hits so hard.

Literally everything in this manga stabs u in the feels especially the final shit GOOD LORD

but it really is tied with #4 because it can't really stand by itself? It needs DMC 5 to be whole, in a way.

4. DMC 4

I really wanted to put this above VoV but my DMC 5 bias shown through in the end IM SORRY

also yeah Sanctus as a villian is dogshit, i agree

and some characters REALLY needed more screen time (see: Credo, Angus, KYRIE) but also this game has the Shakespeare scene so....

also I just love Nero and his teen angst can u blame me

But GOD did Kyrie need more screentime

5. Before the Nightmare

Wow the DMC 5 bias strikes again, huh.

IDK man I just love the prequel shit. Like, Nico and Nero meeting is so fucking funny

Also Lucia makes an appearance for the first time since DMC 2 so thats cool

It also expanded the lore on how devil arms work through Balrog which I am SO thankful for.

Also Roc Goldstein exists now and everyone should know about one of the ONLY GOOD DADS in DMC history

Really the only other one I give my full respect to is Sparda, and he died when his kids were like, six. (Dante and Vergil r getting there tho, give em time.)

6. The Anime

Look Patty is the only reason this is so high I love her and if u look at my previous posts u can tell I love her and Dante's father daughter relationship u can pry it out of my cold dead hands

Also the lore with Sparda's apprentices, demon smoners being a thing, and the introduction to Morrison is very nice.

But also Lady was WAY off the mark almost the entire time, and the plot with Patty only really took center stage towards the end so :(

ALSO THEY DIDNT EVEN SHOW DEVIL TRIGGER IN FULL I WILL NEVER FORGIVE CAPCOM FOR THIS INJUSTICE

capcom if u put Patty in more shit I will forgive you (maybe)

7. DMC 1 novel

This novel is weird because it was written before almost all of the other shit so Canon often either ignored it or bent over backwards to avoid it until the DMC 5 era

But I like it. All of the new characters r very good and I love them all.

Grues death STILL hits me in the feels so hard.

Dante has lost so many parental figures ya'll

One of the only reasons it's so low is because of Gilver, the fuck

He made NO fucking sense for the longest time until the timeline rewrite and the retcon that he's a Vergil clone.

That fits his character so much more bur looking at him as Vergil makes no fucking sense. Everything about his character contradicts what we know about Vergil, even back with only DMC 3 as a reference.

Despite those issues, i am very happy we are seeing some rep for this book in the games and other media. U do not understand the screech I let out when Grue's daughters were shown years later.

8. DMC 1

is this sacrilegious?

Yeah the gameplay is good and it was a hallmark of its time but also Dante is as stale as cardboard here I'm sorry

Like his plot is the most uniform and overdone revenge plot I have ever seen and his relationship with Trish....

it's funky in this game, let me tell u. Thank whatever higher power exists that they leaned more towards siblings in later installments because I would be pulling my hair out otherwise.

But the quips r also really good and all of the Nelo Angelo stuff is my favorite part of the plot, so I guess that evens out?

This game was a very good launching point for the rest of the series except u know what

9. Deadly Fortune

Uhhh yeah it's just.... DMC 4 again with some things changed?

Honestly the reason this is so low is because of my preferred way of absorbing story is through video games than manga.

It's okay. Not trash or anything. It's just alright

10. DMC 3 Mangas

They're ... fine? I guess.

Like the first meeting between the twins in YEARS is very good, but also the manga is unfinished and all...

So I'll just leave it at that.

11. DMC 2 Novel

Gonna be honest I've never read this one.

So I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt

12. DMC 2

Yeah remember when I said Dante was cardboard in DMC 1? Yeah now he's silent, emotionless cardboard.

the villian is bad, the location is okay i guess, really the only saving grace for this games story is the concepts it introduces

Demon civil wars? Artificial demons created by people? Those are cool concepts! So cool that one was reused in a much better game, but I digress.

Honestly the story is probably one of the least sacrilege parts of DMC 2, and it still isn't the worst piece of DMC media based on story. That goes to our surprise contender....

13. DMC: Devil May Cry

DMC questions anon did NOT ask for this, but I'm putting it here so that everyone understands that this games story and characters are SO BAD that I'm putting UNDERNEATH DMC 2

But what can I say that hasn't been already stated?

Vergil is so far out of character he's basically an OC and his turn around at the end makes no fucking sense

Donte is an asshole who has functionally abandoned what made Dante likeable in ANY GAME

The plot itself is the most rehashed 'the government is evil and we must resist it' plot EVER

Even the new shit they added for this game doesn't even fucking work well.

Having demons that look like angels be the antagonists is much more interesting that just having angels and having them do NOTHING

Kat is literally the only thing that I don't have a super negative opinion on because she was NEW and I hadn't watched them fuck up a character I love. They just made a mediocre one at best

Needless to say, I utterly despise the plot of this game with my entire being.

“i balanced all , brought all to mind / the years to come seemed waste of breath . / a waste of breath the years behind , / in balance with this life - this death” - this is actually a quote from a poem , something about an airman i think ? but i personally know it as a quote that simon monroe from in the flesh wanted on his grave . i’m depressed , idk what to tell you .

the entirety of “сними с меня усталость , матерь смерть” by boris chichibabin . this is my favorite poem , so it is very hard to choose one specific quote , but i think i would go with “я так устал . мне сроду было трудно , / что всем другим привычно и легко” - “i’m so fatigued . and things that others do with ease , / i’ve always failed at since my life’s miserable emergence” . that snippet in english is actually from my translation of the poem , which you can check out, if you want .

“this dream must end , the world must know : we all depend on the beast below“ from that one doctor who episode . i have seen this episode maybe 5 years ago ? and that poem just stuck to me . i have been trying to understand why it makes me feel SO MUCH this whole time , and i still can’t . but it does . it means something . i just haven’t figured out what yet .

“those who love much , do much and accomplish much , and everything that is done with love is done well” - vincent van gogh . anyone who knows me well knows that vincent is literally the ground i stand upon . he means so much to me that i can not even describe it , but i think this quote shows what kind of man he was very well and therefore shows why i love him so much .

“sky above , voice within” from skyrim . if vincent van gogh is the ground i stand upon , then skyrim is a roof over my head , and it has been for the past eight years . since i was 11 , it was there for me , helping me go through a lot of stuff , and ultimately i realized how much i see myself in the main character because i am trans non-binary . and this quote resonates with me a lot because of that . stick around if you wanna read my trans nerd ramblings lkgffdglfdkgdk .

so the main character in skyrim has a body of a human , an elf , an orc , a cat-like or a lizard-like person ( depending on the player’s choice ) . but they have the soul of a dragon . so obviously their physical body doesn’t line up with a dragon , but the rest of them does . and the way that manifests is through the character being able to “shout” . these “shouts” are special powers that dragons have - they say some words in their language , and they can breathe fire , stop time , befriend animals , and do a whole number of other things using their voice . this is something that the main character can also do , because they have the soul of a dragon . something else that is very crucial to dragons , though , is their ability to fly . dragons live in the sky , that’s where they feel right , feel natural . the main character doesn’t have a body of a dragon , though . therefore , they don’t have wings . and therefore they can’t fly , can’t be in the sky . something that feels crucial to their soul they can’t do , because their body doesn’t line up with the way that their soul is . you see where i’m going with this , i’m sure . 

and so “sky above , voice within” is this double-edged sword . on the one hand , it is a reminder that the sky is and always will be above the main character . they will never be able to reach it , to be where a dragon are supposed to be . on the other hand , however , they do have that voice within . that voice that proves - they are a dragon , even if they don’t look like one . 

so yeah , you can imagine why my 11 year old self that was three years away from even beginning to realize they are trans got obsessed with this concept and this entire game ( the obsession is still here btw , i literally played today ksdglsdglgs ) .

a gifset you’re really proud of: definitely this gifset of skam nl season one! it was a pain in the ass to make slkdjf but every time i look back on it i just go :D i made this!!! ALSO this set of nora explaining what she’s feeling took me far too long but it’s still one of my most successful skamverse gifsets today, and i’m really happy about that!  

a gifset of your favorite remake: i absolutely cannot decide so i’m putting one for both druck and skamnl :) this gifset i made for druck season five did pretty well and i’m so glad bc i absolutely love it, i think it turned out really well :) and for skam nl of course, since i put the first part in the first category, this set for season two!! i’m still so proud of both of them (they took me Ages but it was absolutely worth it) 

a gifset that you wish would get more notes: all of them?? sfldks no i’m kidding but there’s a fair amount that i was just a little disappointed in, like this cashqueens set for alt er love week which i really really love (yes i know i spelt fatou’s last name wrong there it’s Bothering me but i’m too lazy to change <3) and lowkey this eliott set? idk it wasn’t anything special and it was a while ago that i made it but the colouring is actually really pretty (if i may say so myself sdlkfjsdlk)

okokokokokokokokok i LOVE this ask thank u!!! i actually ran away with this a lot im sorry but im just LOVING THIS EPISODE SO MUCH so here is the l/b rendition of what happens after!!

so roman and vee actually cant talk coherently for a whole day after they are just so happy!! squealing and giggling! and logan and patton are so shocked by how excited they are but like in the surprised laughter way, they see their boys jumping up and down and rambling and smiling so big and it makes them so happy to see!!

for that evening ro and vee are just ECSTATIC and virgil gets so excited that he loses his voice and goes mute and can only happy flap and squeak and laugh and hum and roman gets so excited that he has WAY TOO MUCH energy and goes for an hour long impromptu run - which logan joins him on because he is worried roman will get so excited he will run off track and get lost !!

and while lo and ro are running and logan is marvelling at how roman manages to run for five mins straight AND not stop talking the whole time, patton is with vee and vee cant talk he can only bounce and squeal and so patton just bounces with him!! they hold hands and jump! he hardly knows what theyre so excited about but of course hes gonna catch the excitement its so contagious!! so they bounce and giggle and pretty soon vee regresses into the most playful excitable little baby

and logan and roman return and roman is still excitedly rambling and logan is chuckling through his breathlessness because actually it was pretty hard to keep up with roman - then ro sees that vee has regressed and INSTANTLY goes into kiddo mode and they have the most fun filled excited happy evening where the boys are just so so so giggly and theres lots of games and bouncing and tickling

the next day they manage to calm down a bit and think and roman realises that maybe flirting and romance hasnt worked in the past bc he was mainly working alone and it is a big job to handle for just one side and it has such a big effect on thomas' mental state that maybe he needs some assistance

and he approaches virgils room and finds him laying face down on his bed with his face in a pillow - roman would be worried that he was crying but he could see virgil was kicking his feet against each other too and roman smiles and 'still thinking about it?'

virgils head pops up from the pillow with the BIGGEST smile and says 'DUH of course i am!'

'me too!!' roman giggles and jumps onto virgils bed beside him to lie down and kicks his feet against the mattress excitedly 'ahhhhh!' he squeals

'ahhhh!!' virgil echoes

after a trifle more gay screaming they calm and are sat shoulder to shoulder against the headboard and virgil is shaking jiji in his hands to help stim and roman is stroking a little giraffe plushie vee has and roman brings it up that he is planning on texting nico this morning

virgil smiles bigger and clutches the toy to his cheat 'oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh yes go for it please please please-'

'hang on!' roman giggles 'im telling you because i thought maybe you would wanna help!'

for the first time since they left the mall yesterday virgils smile drops

'virgil' roman starts, but vee so quickly cuts him off

'i can't, im gonna mess it up! whenever im in charge of somthing i just panic and ruin everyth--'

'you wont be fully in charge, we'll share that role!'

'i-' virgil hesitates 'i dunno...'

roman sighs, then a determinstion comes over him and he sits taller and asks 'who pushed thomas to chase after nico?'

the tiniest little smile twists the corner of virgils mouth, but he scratches his cheek to hide it and when his hand lowers its gone 'that wasnt even a-'

'who pushed thomas to chase after nico?' roman repeats, smiling and poking virgils shoulder

vee bites his lip and pulls jiji up to hi chin 'mmnmn'

'i cant hear it' roman insists, twisting on the bed to face virgil directly. he makes a bold move and even reaches out to gently push virgils chin up so he looks at him. theres happiness dancing in virgils eyes WHICH ARE SURROUNDED BY GLITTERY PURPLE EYESHADOW IN CASE ANYONE FORGOT

'i did' virgil mumbles, followed by a muffled giggly because holy moly he actually did that!!

'and thats why youre my new romantic coworker' roman says very proudly, beaming ear to ear, though he hastily adds 'if you want to!'

virgil considers it, bites his lip, strokes jiji, then his smile practicaly lights up the whole room 'yes!'

and they learn a lot from each other by working together! in this au virgil and patton are the only ones who dont have designated working days, their work is reactionary more than anything, they dont have to create ideas or file information like the others, they just react as and when needed dependeing on what thimas experiences. but working with roman is virgils first experience having a sort of routine with work - every tuesday is romance planning!

they leave it flexible of course on account of both of their neurodivergency and allowing room to push the day back if one or both of them are little, but the predictability is actually something that virgil rlly appreciates and looks forward to every week!

and roman learns ways of reeling in his more extreme ideas and being able to apply a sense of realism to his plans! plus it helps him a ton to be able to talk about ideas and get them out, it helps organise them in his mind - and virgil constantly telling him how great he is at what he does does absolute wonders for romans self esteem too

This is gonna be hard, where do I even start?

1) Keith (Voltron: Legendary Defender)

Okay I'm- trying not to laugh too hard because oh boy, this show was a complete mess. BUT Keith still stays as one of my favorite characters ever just because no matter how badly I was hurt by vld he'll always be precious to me 💖 He's hotheaded, cool and a lone wolf, but needs affection more than anyone else on the team. He's easy for me to relate to as I am more likely to push someone away than to keep them close just to avoid being hurt as well. His development is amazing tho and I love love him so much 😭 also it might be just that I have a soft spot for emo characters lmao

2) Todoroki Shoto (Boku no Hero Academia)

This just reinforces my statement earlier since Todoroki is pretty emo too :') But in a different way than Keith. If you are a part of bnha fandom you know he's generally a little bit overrated, but I couldn't help falling in love with him at first sight anyway lol His backstory is tragic but he keeps pursuing his dream and damn is he good at it. Also the combo of fire and ice is aesthetic goals. However, what I admire the most about Shoto is probably his loyalty to his friends, his will to fight and sometimes his goofy attitude (even if he probably isn't aware that he's being goofy lol) In conclusion: I love him, let's move on.

3) Uenoyama Ritsuka (Given)

Can I just stop to say how much I love given for a moment? Like I've never seen a bl anime/manga that would portray gay characters so respectfully 😭❤️ Ue is basically me gay panicking, I feel the boy so much :') OH also what's up with gays & guitars bc first given, then why r u and now also 2gether :') (I might be falling in love with this trope help) okay so: Ue is panicking when he starts liking Mafuyu but he handles it so well in a way? He doesn't deny his crush even if he is slow to notice it lol He's straightforward and sometimes a little bit rough around the edges, but even if he's supposed to be "the cool guy" we see him in the most hilarious settings and that just makes me love him all the more 💖 he respects Mafuyu and his boundaries and I want more of that in bl anime please

4) Eiji & Ash (Banana Fish)

Uhhhh this anime,,, I CANNOT choose between Ash and Eiji, I'm gonna forever see them as a pair and that's simply it. Ash is another emo one I would like to say that but he's actually not. He's backstory is heartbreaking and the life he has to live is dangerous and scary. He gets used to this reality where he has no one to rely on and no one to trust but then Eiji appears tearing his walls down and making him finally be able to show his soft and sensitive side to someone. Eiji is like a salve for his wounds and yes, I'm still emotional about it bc their relationship is one of the best developped I've ever seen. Their bond is so strong it's beautiful, they would literally die for each other. It's so apparent that they love each other and care for each other so much (don't mind me crying in the corner)

5) Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson & the Olympians)

PJ technically got me into fantasy/sci-fi in elementary school and it stays at the top of my favorite book series list ever (big props to Uncle Rick 👏) The whole series is funny and I would say pretty light-hearted even tho you know,,, Percy saves the world several times, lol, usual demigod things™. He's lovable. Son of Poseidon so he has seaweeds instead of a brain (or so you thought, he is brilliant at strategic planning and has a charisma to be a great leader), has a very good sense of humor, is loyal and would risk everything for his friends. Also he loves his girlfriend very much and I was crying while reading the House of Hades but no one needed to know that oh well. I'm also gonna mention Nico de Angelo here, since he fell in love with Percy (didn't we all tho) and was the first gay character I saw portrayed in the book and oh do I love him 😭💖

6) 707 (Mystic Messenger)

Was I losing sleep over this game? I was. Do I regret anything? Absolutely not. I think my choices are pretty boring tho, since Seven is literally everyone's favorite but oh boy there's a reason for that. Apart from being a talented hacker who knows too much (and I think is cautious of us the most at the start) he has a lovely happy-go-lucky personality composed of all the lame jokes, questions "have you eaten already" and anxiety (another emo one). He's that type of a character who will always try to make you laugh but you never know what's going on inside his head. He's mysterious and we don't get to know him well till his route so pretty much till the end of the game lol. Also he loves his brother, phd pepper, honey buddha chips and Elizabeth 3rd the most in this entire world and I love him for that

7) Evan Hansen (Dear Evan Hansen)

ANOTHER EMO ONE okay but hear me out Evan has social anxiety and its portrayal is almost too real for me. He makes a big oopsie which at the start seems like a little innocent lie but then snowballs to enormous sizes. He gains everything in this bargain, a best (dead) friend, a caring mother, a father, a girlfriend even - and then everything falls apart since it all is built on one fat lie. He makes a lot of mistakes and then some more but you get it and you feel for him, and you cry with him and you're happy for him. And when all of this is over you're glad that he's still there trying his best, taking it one day at a time. And sidenote: Ben Platt's voice is angelic and I love him as Evan 💖💖💖

8) Isak (SKAM)

Another gay panicking one. I'm starting to realize there's a set of traits that I particularly like in fictional characters lol But ye, when I was watching skam ofc it was the third season which gripped me the most and kept me on the edge, bc yet again Isak taking an "are you gay" test was way too real for me. He makes a lot of mistakes along the way of figuring out his sexuality and sometimes stuff with Evan becomes really messy (for both of them) but he stays with him nevertheless ❤️ Skam is literally so good in its portrayal of the characters :') Anyways: alt er love 💖

9) Viktor & Yuuri (Yuri on Ice)

Em, another one that I absolutely can't break up to just one bc how could I? Yuri on ice got me into skating ❤️ I went to an ice rink for the first time bc of this anime and I almost died but now look at me actually finishing my first three months of ice skating training and watching real life figure skating competitions :') Little did I know then. But they're not only my favourites bc of that, I genuinely love the development of their relationship from fan - idol through skater - couch to lovers and history makers in the end. I love how Yuuri is a ball of insecurities and how Viktor manages to reassure him. I love how Viktor fell in love with drunk Yuuri clinging to him. I love how at first Yuuri wasn't able to get too close to Viktor without getting flustered and it changes so drastically to them basically always holding onto each other. I love how Viktor was stuck with no inspiration but then Yuuri came and turned his world upside down. I love how they support and respect each other. I could probably go on into eternity like that and Yuri on ice isn't even the best anime I've ever seen but it's certainly my favourite one ❤️

10) Tutor (WHY R U)

I can't believe I'm so obsessed with thai dramas rn and I'm only gonna include Tor on this list smh He's mental attitude inspires me. He's able to hold so much and appears totally unfazed even if he's barely holding on inside. He's hardworking and doesn't want others to pity him since he can manage it all just fine. He has a kind heart, he's a wonderful friend (especially to Hwa, he always listens to her, gives her pieces of advise, supports her and tries to cheer her up). He never forgets to say thank you when he genuinely feels grateful. But as we've seen he also is passionate and when he loves he LOVES. Also he's the biggest tease to Fighter and I love him for that :') I am so satisfied just by seeing him happy, please do not change that whyru gods 🙏

GIVE ME A TED TALK ABOUT MIDGROUND!!! I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT!!! WAHTS THE PLOT!! WHO ARE THE CHARACTERS!!! WHAT IS YOUR FAV PART OF IT!!!

oh i did talk about the plot and characters enough times but i dont think ive ever mentioned which part is my favourite!!!!!!!!!!! (btw if ur reading this and uv only followed me recently, here is my first post about midground that explains basic stuff. its from over a year ago but yeah. i do post more than plenty text posts in my midground tag tho)

if i would have to go with choosing one out of four parts, id definitely go with 4th. i mean, theres a lottttt going on there, instead of that ‘’one demon per chapter’’ kinda stuff, like in the first two and partially 3rd one, as well. but anyway, part 4 is so much fun because:

1) for all the three previous parts, i was only focusing on demons/ghosts/evil stuff in general, and now it was fun coming up with angels!!!!!!!

2) i like the ongoing dilemma of part 4, which is like..... “so should we even be exorcising or not??? are we actually fulfilling creator’s will by doing it or are we playing god ourselves???” and stuff like that. 

3) also, i loved writing flashbacks SO MUCH. first two chapters r about how they all became friends when they were ~14, starting with mercy moving to brackenridge (i mean, it was actually supposed to go to book no.3, bc its last chapter is called ‘’rest in peace mercedes clifford, part 1′’ and then i moved part 2 to the other book so like HHDSFSGD....... truly DUMB OF ASS...... whatever tho titles dont matter). i kept rewriting the first one especially so many times bc it was just SO fun ugh

4) coming up with the explanation of why does all this shit happen in brackenridge was also fun. ive had like, 4 a bit different endings written, rn im not 100% sure if im staying with the one i left for now, but im not in a hurry and i would love to explore more slightly different resolutions. well, i cant change much, bc theres a lot of reocurring stuff, like mostly all this lilianne stuff (the only other person who went to hell & came back alive)

5) I GET TO WRITE AN EPILOGUE!!!!!!!! like, about how theyre all in their mid-20s and all that stuff. i already have all the details planned and how their lives would look, but i want to leave writing it for the very end, u know...... as a treat.

6) last but not least............ i really, really, REALLY loved writing the characters, having in my head the comparison with book no.1. their personalities changed a lot, and so did my vision, and in a way, its kinda moving. plus i really loved giving them happy endings. gave jen a gf and nico a (future) bf. gave clay a job instead of forcing him to continue education which was clearly making him miserable right from chapter 1 of first part (and which i also had a chance to highlight with the flashback). and got rid of mercy’s curse too. it felt nice and rewarding, since i did torture them quite a bit before :-/

Ok y’all don’t understand how messy my middle school career was

(literally everything is ON TUMBLR in my tags that only I know about thank god) but since I was looking back, my friend group was just a whole bunch of horny virgins. (Well. Until I lost my virginity. I was 13 too?!?! I was too young :(

Anyways... I’ll name the people off as fruit because idk if they’ll care about this or not but still, be careful. I hope it’s a laugh for everyone as it is for me as well (more of cringe but oh well)

So it kinda all started when I met tomato in sixth grade. Idk why but like I always felt the need to like him, ever since I first saw him but maybe that was just because he was the funny kid in class that literally everyone wanted to be friends with. And since I’m too “hipster for that” I never really pursued or took the time to talk to him because I thought he never really wanted to talk to me. A whole year of whenever me and tomato would sit next or near each other, he’d always make me laugh and I literally don’t know why. I would always giggle and I remember he gave me the nickname “the giggler” or something. But anyways I ended up dating his friend (lol). I honestly don’t know why cause we had -10,000 things in common and also we dated for like 2 months which in middle school terms, was like 2 years! But I found out later he really dated me to be petty towards tomato because he’s the one who really liked me. (Classic, right? I don’t know if this is true tbh lol but it’s what I’ve been told) and thennnnn seventh grade started up. And that was when shit started to happen. I dated Nico (I’ll say his name bc I’m still friends with him and I love him to this day!!! <33 ) and that lasted a while, i don’t remember how long lmao I just know he was my first kiss but I ended up breaking up with him because Tomato confessed his feelings for me over tumblr (lmao what a website) and I ended up liking him. BUT after I broke up with Nico, tomato started dating pineapple. And pineapple was like, my sworn enemy. (I literally don’t know how they started talking tho like I’m trying to remember but I don’t) but anyways, that happened and it fricking sucked. Pineapple and I were similar in many ways, we dyed our hair, drew a shit ton, and we’re fricking weebs. So seeing that, it hurt that my crush and my enemy were together. But needless to say it was rocky af LMAO. But I still supported tomato all the way because I liked him that much. I even went on a “double date” with them and Nico and I. Idfk why but fuck I was a dumbass. Anyways, I was always there for tomato when shit would happen and they would “break up.” I thought, this is my chance only for them to get back together the next day. I was pissed. 12 year old me. Angry. But they ended up actually breaking up and I was always there for him, telling him to delete pictures, delete posts, and anything else that reminded him of her. We spent all of the summer pretty much together, me and tomato. We made butter beer, a cake I think, and lots more whenever I came over. (Lowkey his house was like, always nice I was like wow.) and when he moved to an even bigger house that was she shit was starting to go down. We’d, well, he would play games and I would always watch him and of course be flirty. I remember this one time he put a pair of headphones on me and told me he liked me but I literally couldn’t hear him hahaha. But needless to say, we got together. (Wow surprised much? I am) and theeennn eighth grade. That year was a fuckin whirlwind. Me and tomato actually got together on the day of the “Arizona flood” where we had no school! And then after was just a whole bunch of blah blah blah depressing episodes attempted blah blah blah (who knew two toxic people would make an even more toxic relationship? Wow) and yeah we broke up obviously. Still kinda mad how he kissed 5 people 5 days after we broke up and got in another relationship 2 weeks later. (But I look back and I realize I did the same LMAO.) But that didn’t matter cause I was having fun with my friends. 6 months later and me and pineapple started talking (Idk how... we just did) and like... actually started to like each other. I went to the school play with her and all we did was cuddle, we would kiss multiple times just “for the heck of it” (lowkey she was a good kisser) and we hung out all summer with all our friends. And theeenn freshman year came! We both had short dyed hair, I thought she was cute af and she asked me out on the very first day of high school. Ofc I said yes and there it goes. We really only lasted two weeks cuz

we were both immature af and her friend was a lowkey snitch lol but yeah that’s all. I was a raging petty bitch throughout freshman year but I stopped when I met Alex and we dated for almost two years but that’s a whole other story. It was just funny looking back at middle school and how I dated THREE people who dated each other. Oh I forgot to add that when me and tomato were together, pineapple and Nico dated. (Ya. Kiri definitely takes advantage of it and the worst thing is that it’s not even a fight cause with Kirishima’s quirk he’s completely immune to tickling (and also attempts at other types of attacks in general - explosions - to make him stop) so once he manages to get a hold of Bakugou and start tickling him all Bakugo can do is yell and cry-laugh and hate him a lot hahaha

1. What’s your oldest WIP, and how old is it? What inspired you to start it?

My oldest WIP that I’m still working on is still untitled. I am horrible at coming up with titles, so it’ll probably still be a while until it gets one. This question made me go back to check my history and I started working on it back in late June apparently. So, it’s been like almost three and a half months already, which is probably the longest I’ve stuck with an idea. I was actually inspired by multiple things. It centers a lot on what is going on now with deportation and immigrant families, and it begins to affect the protagonist’s life in a way she didn’t expect. I remember being really upset with the separation of families because that’s just heartbreaking, and I thought it was important that people know how much more it affects people’s personal lives. Also, I was inspired by The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, which is one of my favorite books of all time. I had started reading it after I already began my WIP, but seeing how she was able to write about such an important topic made me more motivated to write my WIP.

2. What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to writing?

My biggest pet peeve when it comes to writing would probably be how sometimes I have this idea in my head, and I know exactly how I want it to play out, but I don’t like how I write the scene. I end up going back and rewriting it, which is a big part of being a writer, but sometimes I wish that it could just transfer exactly how it is in my head onto the document.

3. What scene did you enjoy writing the most out of all your WIPs? What scene did you enjoy writing the least?

Wow, that’s hard. The scene I enjoyed writing the most out of all my WIPS so far would have to be when I was writing about Bellona and Manuel’s little sisters ganging up on him and Nico with slingshots and marshmallows. Bellona goes through a lot and having that sweet, hilarious moment with the people she cares about, along with how fun it was to write the dialogue, is probably what made it so enjoyable. 

The scene I enjoyed writing the least would probably have to be the short little scene between Bellona, Manuel, and her dad. It was kind of weird since I never had that close father-daughter relationship, so I feel like that ended up transferring into my writing, which I would’ve rather avoided. 

4. What’s your favorite trope?

Okay, now that’s a hard question if it’s referring to what trope I like to read. But, in terms of writing, I’m not really sure. I don’t really use many tropes when I’m writing.

5. Which of your protagonists do you relate to the most?

Eva, for sure. She’s a character from a WIP that I literally started less than a month ago, but she reminds me a lot of myself. I can relate to Bellona at certain moments, but she’s a lot more guarded than I am.

6. What is the worst writing experience you’ve ever had with another writer, anywhere, since you’ve started writing?

I’ve never really talked much with other writers on here, but the few times I have, I’ve only received kindness and encouragement. 

7. What character from a famous story, book/movie/comic/game, or otherwise, do you despise the most? Why?

Okay, I thought I knew the answer to this, but now, I’m not so sure. I absolutely despise Umbridge because she is in a position where she is supposed to help children, but she abuses that power and inflicts physical and emotional pain on the students. But, another character that I absolutely despise is Rasheed from A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I absolutely hated Rasheed for all of the abuse that he inflicted on the characters in the story, and what’s scary is that people like him actually exist out there in the world.

8. What’s your favorite line of dialogue you’ve ever written?

Hmm. I really love Bell’s sarcastic remarks, but there are also some lines from a short story that I wrote for two of my friends that I really love. 

9. Who’s the worst character you’ve ever written, in terms of morality?

In terms of morality, it would probably have to be a character in my main WIP about Bellona. There’s this character who chooses to be ignorant and makes offensive comments that can be seen as biphobic and racist. She really could try to become more educated, but she chooses to believe in that, not wanting to focus on how she’s hurting the people around her.

10. Do you prefer happy endings or bad endings? Or do you prefer the middle ground?

I usually prefer happy endings, but it has to make sense. I wouldn’t want it to just have a happy ending for the sake of having a happy ending. Although, I wouldn’t mind a bad ending as long as it’s impactful, which really means make me cry. Actually, I think as long as any ending is impactful, whether it’s evoking happiness or sadness, is a good ending to me.

ok wow so you’ve got a whole lot of requests here but i cant answer all of them in the same ask??? bc thatll literally be like 20 pages worth of text in one ask???? so im gonna hold onto all those requests except for this last one that u described in detail so i hope u dont mind and heres your list!!

so the dynamic goes so far that you’re pretty much placed in like your gen ed classes based on your status like nerds are in all the AP classes, preps are in advanced classes, and jocks/punks are split between the basic level or remedial classes. on rare occasions a jock might end up in an advanced math class or a prep will end up in remedial english

nico, a well known punk, ends up in the same prep english class as will and piper and everyone refuses to speak with him or partner with him on assignments and nobody ever even wants to sit next to him

Will’s never been a fan of the whole dynamic the school has but he cant speak out against it or he’ll lose his status and all of his friends, and hes so afraid that he’s gonna get disowned when his teacher partners him and nico for a big project

they have to get together a lot after school to work on this project but they can’t do it in public in case somebody sees them and wills mom doesnt want some punk in her house so they go to nicos all the time

after like,, the first hour of just hanging out and doing homework, theyve both developed some giant crushes on each other but theyre both afraid to say anything so when will leaves the goodbye is very long and tense and kinda awkward but theyre gonna see each other again the next day so its fine

when theyre together again a few days later will cant focus on the project at ALL bc nicos hair is tied back and he keeps tapping the end of his pencil against his lips and wills just like “hey nico i think i like you. like a lot” and nico stares at him for a minute and will panics and goes “sorry forget i said anything please dont tell anyone i dont wanna lose all my friends” and nicos like “wait no i like you too” and they don’t get anymore work done that day bc they make out on nicos bed instead

so about a week later wills hanging out with piper who asks how working with nico is going and will like eases into it to gauge pipers reaction and soon enough hes like “and we’ve been– well not really dating but we’ve been kissing each other instead of doing homework for the last week” and hes terrified about what pipers about to say but shes like “holy cow thats GREAT im so glad somebody else is against the whole dynamic!! this is perfect you have to go public!! you could fix the whole school!!” and wills like whoa wait hold on a second

the next day between classes will and nico sneak a kiss under the stairs where they dont think anyone can see but drew is walking by right then and sees it and waits around the corner for nico to leave and then traps will and tells him that she saw everything and that he’ll have to beg for forgiveness for breaking the dynamic and wills a little terrified but hes like “beg for forgiveness?? who r u the pope??” and leaves for class

He texts nico that drew caught them so nico replies “so i guess ur fun is over right and youre gonna break up with me” and wills like “no!! absolutely not i really really like you and i’d rather lose my status than break up with you!!” so nico asks if he wants to go public bc hes ok with it if thats what will wants and will says he wants to think about it

English is their last class of the day so when will walks in he sits down right next to nico and mitchell looks back at him from the front of the room and hes like “will what are you doing” and will leans over and kisses nico square on the lips and nicos a little surprised but he goes “oh so we’re going public then” and kisses will back

word gets out super quick and by the end of the day theres a bunch more couples that broke the dynamic that are publicly dating and its all thanks to will and nico
