Apologies if you've answered this before, but what's the device you draw on Livio/Razlo's ear? Is it similar to like a hearing aid or cochlear implant?

So I don't think it's ever actually discussed what the ear piece is in Maximum but I think it can safely be inferred that it has something to do with LR's third arm, a sort of control device- I like to imagine tho they were already missing their ear because it got blown off before they could do regeneration, so it was a handy spot to slap that thing on. I also like to think that if you take the cup portion off there's just a bunch of like, exposed nerves underneath-

As for the mask/wig combo ngl I'm a fan of Mr. Nightow's "it's there cause it looks Siiiiiiiick" rule- I do believe it does have a critical purpose in that it helps keep Livio and Razlo's identities separate. It's a combative advantage in that the 'enemy' doesn't know there's a second player with a different skill set, and any witnesses who see a fight can only say they saw either L or they saw R (given that usually only one is necessary for a fight), keeping the idea that LR are two separate bodied individuals alive

The design and material the mask is made of is interesting tho, as that its function is purely for aesthetics. It's incredibly fragile, as it shatters into pieces simply from falling and hitting the ground. It also probably requires a lot of time and effort it probably takes to put it on to get it to blend in perfectly with their real hair. Very style savy of them.

piastri gaining more positions in races doesn’t mean he’s performing better than norris or more consistently. he’s 13-3 down in quali, you are always going to gain more places if you start further back! norris has consistently outperformed him this season, which is kinda clear from the gaps between them at the end of races - norris has finished more than 20 seconds ahead of him quite a few times this season. piastri’s biggest lead to him was abt 10 seconds and that was when norris didn’t put under the sc at jeddah.

norris is getting team orders because he is the one who has performed well enough and consistently enough to be in the championship fight. oscar hasn’t. simple as that.

the sheet will also show you the positions norris has lost. you gain more positions if you start further back, but you really aren't supposed to lose more positions if you start ahead! norris makes too many errors that cost him positions. simple as that.

and speaking of consistently outperforming,

i personally don't think what norris needs is team orders. what he needs is to perform better- and not just in comparison to oscar. the bulk of his point loss is because of stupid errors and, not to sound like a broken record, but calling for team orders instead of improvement on his end is like slapping a bandaid on an open wound. will it work? maybe. is there a bigger problem that needs to be resolved? absolutely. is it unfair for oscar to be the bandaid at his own expense in this scenario while the gaping wound goes unaddressed? goes without saying!!

go back and read that paragraph three more times because i keep repeating the same notion but i don't know why you have elected to ignore or misinterpret.

everyone hates team orders yadda yadda but most people will shut up when they're justified. in this case, it's unjustified. if you lose positions in 47% of your races, you are not consistent or strong. if you NEED team orders to fight a championship and cannot carry your own weight, you do not deserve it. simple enough i hope.

so like sgdkdhdkdhd I say Jay and Lloyd are my “favorites” but honestly it’s so hard to pick favorites out of this skittles squad like I love EVERY character for a variety of different reasons. I was going to also infodump about Lloyd but then I started talking about Prime Empire and then this post got. Long. So. it's just Jay I may infodump about Lloyd another day especially since I'm very Conduit Brained Rn but yea yea!

Jay is such an interesting case of a character for me because I started out the show not liking him. Which is. Stares at my entire account I think my feelings have changed somewhat

Jay starts out as an asshole I don’t think anyone can disagree with me there (although honestly they’re all assholes in early ninjago they bullied a ten year old and left him dangling several feet off the ground) but over the course of the show you can see him start developing into a much more interesting character. He goes from being so insecure he's faking everything about himself to someone who knows who he is and is so genuine about it

now yea we could argue about whether his character was too uwu-ified post-season 10 but this is the FUN HAN POST SO WE'RE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THAT the point is you can SEE the growth that Jay has gone through and I am going to show you that growth through what I call

I AM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THE IDEA THAT PRIME EMPIRE WAS WRITTEN TO BE A DIRECT PARALLEL OF SKYBOUND AND WAS CENTERED ON SHOWING HOW THE NINJA ESPECIALLY JAY HAVE GROWN THROUGHOUT THE SEASON

when season 12 rolls around we are at the point in Jay's development where he is CONFIDENT in who he is. He's a fun-loving jokester with the power of lightning and the drive to help people whenever he can. He uses jokes and humor to help alleviate tension and get people through whatever's happening. And when on his own what does he do?

BECOME AN ENTERTAINER BABEY

i like to think jay's club in prime empire was a safe haven for anyone stuck in the game who figured out hey. we Can't Leave and felt freaked about it. Also Jay would generally try and spread the word that hey something ISN'T RIGHT HERE which would lead people to want to stay with him

(totally plugging my friend's fic but this kind of thing is explored in would you like to enter prime empire by @finn-m-corvex y'all should check it out cool cool)

also the prime empire shorts which i watched all of in the midst of typing this video cuz i love them go watch them please please please jay was publically fighting the red visors which I imagine may have raised some red flags for some players

THIS SOMEHOW TURNED INTO PRIME EMPIRE INFODUMPING LMAO ANYWAYS Jay's confident! He becomes an entertainer because it's who he knows he is! And it's something that will get people hyped and having fun, which is very in-character for Jay to do! He uses those kinds of things to mask the Bad Things going on and get people remembering what's good

I've talked about this sort of thing before but that's Jay's whole philosophy as early as season 9! Which is a DIRECT contrast to how he views it in season 6, as Nadakhan puts it scarily accurately

"You make jokes to mask the fact that you're afraid"

(i was gonna grab a screenshot for that like i did with the hunted scene but netflix has bloCKED THE ABILITY TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS THE WAY I USED TO and i don't have them already and i'm too lazy to grab them from elsewhere so alas trust me he says it)

making jokes to hide your fear and using humor to remind yourself of what's good and coping with the bad are two VERY different outlooks on it

so I think this outlook is what drives him to make this glamrock persona in the first place - this is a bad situation, one he's in with other civilians, and what better way to keep him and themself safe until the others get there than throwing a big performance at a safe place!

also it's just so gender okay I want to look like Superstar Rockin' Jay so badly

it's also interesting to see his outlook on his parents change over time! In season six he finds out Ed and Edna aren't his birth parents and feels upset about it, not understanding why his birth parents would've abandoned him. In season twelve, that outlook changing is EXACTLY why Jay's able to get through to Unagami

"I was abandoned by my parents, too!... I never understood why, and I never had the chance to even ask. But I always hoped there was a good reason. What if there's a reason?"

(again curse you netflix i wanted SCREENSHOTS whatever whatever)

It's this scene that gets Unagami to calm down long enough for Milton Dyer to get there, and presumably is what stops him from just. Flattening him and Jay like a pancake.

to piggyback off of this i absolutely adore how Unagami and Jay consider each other adopted brothers in that one book I still haven't read and I hope he's in Dragons Rising at some point Unagami is my favorite "villain" (no longer a villain) in the whole show he deserves more screentime

SO YEA OKAY Prime Empire is "Who is Jay as a Person Post-Skybound" to me also it opens up so many fascinating things about Jay. I rest my case

so backpedaling a little bit. JAY CARES SO MUCH ABOUT HIS PARENTS GUYS IT'S SO SOFT AND I'M sobs

like yea the first episode with Ed and Edna in it has Jay avoiding them like the plague but this gets explained very easily when you remember he was bullied for his home life before he became a ninja. It makes a lot more sense why he wouldn't want them around his new friends, assuming they'd react the same way. Also how was he supposed to know literally all the rest of the groups parents were either dead, presumed dead, or had a toxic relationship with their kid lmao

(Cole calling his mom kills me. Cole's mom is dead. I know they probably just didn't think that far ahead when writing the dialogue but it's so funny mans pretended to call his dead mom to get on Jay for not appreciating his parents iconic behavior)

anyways literally every episode Ed and Edna are central to (except like the one in skybound) Jay stops at nothing to protect his parents and it means the absolute world to me he's so much like them!! They raised an inventive little nerd and he will stop at nothing to make sure they're safe and it's. It's SO IMPORTANT TO ME OKAY

ALSO this is an excuse to clip my favorite piece of dialogue possibly in the entire show. Except Netflix won't let me now. So you just get the text dialogue

Jay's just fallen from the sky with a messed up eye and is incredibly distraught that all his friends are captured. And his dad just. The woRLD IS FALLING APART AND HE'S EATIN' SOUP-

In my mind, Monoma knows how to pickpocket, do sleight of hand, roll a coin across his knuckles, all that good stuff :D I also hc him to have voluntary nystagmus. No particular reason, I just 100% think Monoma would use that skill to freak people out

Also I hc him to be friends with Hatsume Mei. Each time he visits he brings a whole packet of papers, diagrams, analytics of quirks and how they relate to their costumes, and Mei def eats it up EVERY TIME. She also has him try quirks she needs for the equipment whenever possible. They’re smart kids :>

sleight of hand (and other assorted part trick) Monoma is near and dear to my heart, and i could definitely see him being able to do Some Sorta Nonsense with his body like voluntarily vibrate his eyes. i could see him being double jointed, too. (he is a Bendy Boy.)

ALSO the fact that Monoma and Hatsume never interacted in any meaningful way will haunt me until i die. they are so smart, and they are such freaks (/pos). their aura would have been so powerful. maybe too powerful? i guess Hori had to nerf them somehow.

as far as fanworks go, i am a massive fan of any fic that has Monoma showcasing his quirk. (for example, Learning Curve has a fantastic scene with a training exercise/mock battle that i frequently go back to because it is So Peak to me.)

as far as things i'd like to see more of, i'd kill for more introspective pieces of Monoma learning how to adjust after the war. (let me see him talk to Bakugo, who he watched die! let me see him talk to Aizawa, who tried to protect him!!!) i'm hoping some more of that will come with time as the anime draws closer to the end, but i suppose we shall see.

romance-wise, i'm big on Monoshin and have been since season 2. the fact that it used to be a rarepair floors me. (really played the long game on that one). that being said, i could honestly read about Monoma with almost any other student, his personality is just that much fun to me. apart from Monoshin, i've been seeing quite a bit of Timebomb and Monoma/Pony on my timeline, and i find both so incredibly charming.

platonically: Kendo. Shinsou. Tokage. Mei. Honenuki. Bakugo (especially after the war). ERI. Vlad and/or Aizawa. slap Monoma in an interaction with any of them and i am Locked In.

FINALLY, the Monoma family. (man, the Monoma family.) @smallvictorianchildwhofoundwifi and i have constructed pages upon pages of lore for these human disasters, but i'll try to keep it brief:

Monoma's dad (still need a name) - only ever agreed to have a child in the first place because his side of the family was pressing for it. resents Neito for reasons that i'll probably dig into later - but as long as Neito isn't actively making a mockery of the family name, his dad really can't be bothered to think about him.

Monoma's mom (Hiromi) [PRE WAR] - had Neito when she was young (around 21 years old) because, again, her husband's side of the family was insistent. she adored him at first sight; however, she has had to make a lot of changes to appease her husband's side of the family over the years, and it has turned her into a harsher, colder person overall. every once and a while, she'll be struck with fondness for her son, but it never lasts for long before she goes back to being made of ice. maybe also unconsciously resents Neito some for marking the end of her old life.

Hiromi (cont) [Post-War] - determined to reconnect with her son after almost losing him in the final battle. has made so many mistakes that it seems impossible, but Neito got his tenacity from someone, and it certainly wasn't his father.

Monoma's class knows next to nothing about his family. even Kendo, who has known Monoma for a long while, has precious little information to go off of.

some of the girls in Monoma's class stumble across a picture of Monoma's mother from one of her last modeling shoots, but when they ask him about her, Monoma just tells them that he has his mother to thank for his dashing good looks and leaves it at that. Ittaka - Monoma's old caretaker (and pseudo-older sister) - comes to visit him once, and his classmates briefly think that his real mother must have died until Kendo corrects them (because she may not know much about the Monomas, but she knows that they are all still kicking). but that's about all they've got.

tldr; trying to wrangle a straight answer out of Monoma regarding his family is impossible.

Hey! For the headcanon game, can I get an 🤬 headcanon for Lilia? But maybe if youre up to it can you give a headcanon for before and after lilia adopted Silver? Because I think while both versions of him have the same triggers (fucking around with someone he's protecting,) I think that General Vanrouge and Lilia have very different ways of going batshit crazy angry. YOU ARE SO CORRECT!! I've actually incorporated this in a few aus before because it makes so much sense? That Lilia would have to learn how to talk to and engage with a child in a softer, kinder way than he would any of his soldiers— and a human one at that! We don't know much of anything regarding Lilia's past (here's hoping Ch7 sheds some light on it), but we do see from the last part how cold and clipped his voice was when addressing those he saw to be humans. I don't think he was ever as prejudiced as Sebek's grandfather, but one could easily understand his brusque reservations when we consider he's been fighting wars for centuries now against them.

(plus we kind of see him confess that in his birthday vignette where he talks about the realization with a hint of regret of how he was training Silver like a soldier when he was just a child.)

(and now that I think about it, it's interesting too how Lilia addresses Silver/Sebek/Yuu in the last part because we know from Malleus' memory that he was fairly congenial and kind to Malleus after his tantrum in the palace. So this is definitely a 'battlefield' voice and mindset that he's in right now.)

I also think it's so fascinating because (my personal hc) of how late we are in Lilia's life that he learns this kind of skill. Yes, he mentored Malleus, yes, he spoke to him with understanding, but also respect for the position that Malleus had— he's the crown prince, Lilia is simply a General in the scheme of their hierarchy. I will die on this hill that Silver was the first to teach Lilia of unconditional love and genuine, sweet devotion, and that irrevocably changed Lilia on a fundamental level.

SO AFTER THAT DISCUSSION—

General Vanrouge HC: His anger is a great and terrible thing of laser sharp focus, honed to the nth degree of brutality. The night sings for him, in him, through him, and the devastation he wields is awe-inspiring for the soldiers that follow like devotees in his footsteps. He's not a cruel leader, never one to humiliate a lower-ranking member for a mistake made in training, but he is an exacting one— he has no patience for the inept and no tolerance for failure. This is war, (one that already claimed the lives of their king and queen), and his only purpose is to serve his ruling family and protect their lands against those that would wish to seize them. There is no room for error, and second chances on the battlefield only end in death.

Papa!Lilia HC: After adopting Silver, Lilia learns to laugh at a lot of things. His son's well-meaning messes, his earnest attempts at soup that end up burning in the pot— these aren't life or death situations, even if the tears welling up in Silver's eyes deem them as such. Lilia weathers the clouds that dampen his child's wondrous eyes with a kiss on his head and a reassuring squeeze, finding what he assumes could only be the sun's warmth soothing his bones where fire once scorched. Silver never sees his father's wrath, not this child of peace. He will never know the madness that his very presence has tamed and stilled behind Lilia's heart, the wildfire now banked into a cozy hearth.

He's slower to anger now, mild in his calculations. There is so much to be gained by conversation instead of confrontation, and he ensures this lesson is taught to Silver not by bloodshed and loss on the battlefield, but from the comfort of his father's lap, held safely between the shielding force of Lilia's arms.

(But if a single hair were to be harmed on the head of his son, if anyone approached his child with ill intent, well. He'd only be too happy to demonstrate that he still remembers in perfect clarity how to vivisect a living body.)

Actually, my pfp is from a different Amphibia au that I haven't talked about at all on here! I've tentatively called it "the raven and the dove" and it's roughly based on the movie (the MOVIE, not the books) The School for Good and Evil and my friend @toonteller came up with a lot of it (hi, toon, hope you don't mind the tag!). If you're at all familiar with the characters from that, Anne takes Agatha's role while Marcy takes Sophie's and Sasha takes Tedros'. You don't have to be familiar with the characters at all for the au to make sense, though!

Basically, Anne and Marcy are two girls growing up in a rural village. They've been friends since they were very small, sticking close together and facing the mean-spirited remarks of their peers together. Marcy happens to stumble across a book one day that tells her of a magical place that trains the heroes and villains of fairytale stories and becomes very determined to find it, while Anne rushes along after her because she doesn't want to lose her only friend and sincerely doubts that any good could come of this. The two of them end up getting whisked away to The School For Good and Evil, where they are promptly deposited into their respective schools - Anne into the School For Good, which trains heroes, and Marcy into the School For Evil, which trains villains. And obviously this is a huge mistake, because not only does Anne want to get back to her parents, but also Marcy cannot possibly be evil! There isn't a vindictive bone in her body! The headmaster, Andrias, tells the girls that the only way to prove Marcy's innate Goodness is a true love's kiss (because villains don't get one of those in the stories, right?). They end up causing quite a stir among the students, as they are both generally disruptive and the first to enroll from outside the fairytale realm in a long time, and the shenanigans draws the attention and disapproval of one Sasha of Camelot, heir to the throne of the Storied and the School For Good's golden child. And. Well.

Quite a lot of chaos ensues in an attempt to get Marcy into the "proper" school and get Anne home, including but not limited to a Marcy corruption arc (and one for Anne, to a different extent), some identity/morality/sexuality crises on the part of Sasha, magic and shapeshifting, a slow dance (with evil overtones), gay archery lessons, ruminations on the societal expectations of beauty, attraction, gender roles, and morality, women covered in blood, true love's kiss(es), and LOTS of impractical fantasy costume changes. It's quite a bit of fun (and Sashannarcy endgame, obviously), even if I haven't thought about it in awhile! :DDD

I think he also has a touch of demiromanticism? like i think he can date anyone and be in relationships but doesn’t always put a lot of romantic weight into most of them. it’s like friends+ to him. until he finally dates someone he already has a deep bond with and realizes “oh no THIS is what love is”

Gender headcanon: a cis man for sure. boring on some level perhaps but like… that’s how I see him. he’s very comfortable in his masculinity tho so he’s not afraid to play around with the performance of it (i.e. wearing makeup or something)

A BROTP I have with said character: my top 2 fics of all time both have Kenny and Gregory as two characters forced to be coworkers due to circumstance and eventually forming a bond that is so real and meaningful that I can’t imagine them as not being friends. Gregory is so incredibly anxious and reserved, he desperately needs someone with Kenny’s laidback attitude to start to open up. and Kenny needs someone who is emotionally mature enough to know how to handle his daily existential crisis.

A NOTP I have with said character: it’s not a NOTP as I do like it in theory, but so often when I see people shipping stan//gory it’s with characterizations that are just so awful. mostly due to the Thing that popularized the ship… a Thing that I feel bastardized many of the characters it portrayed. if you know you know

A random headcanon: he doesn’t seem like it, but Gregory is absolutely a dog person. a lot of that has to do with how he was raised to value appearance and a good purebred dog tends to be much more valued in high society, but also I think he just likes dogs a lot. he wants a border collie very badly and spends years trying to warm Christophe up to the idea.

General opinion over said character: I could talk about this man forever if God let me. after writing about him for 8 years, I think I know him so well, but I’ll admit that sometimes I wonder if the image I have of him in my head is true or warped from years of headcanon after headcanon (a necessity for someone who is as minor as he is). but doing my canon info post a while back I think helped a lot in both course correcting and reassuring myself! so yeah. him 🥰

the fact that yuuya's only a grade above sakuya means he's only like a year or two older. (two years according to the wiki, at least)

trying to wrap one's head around how quickly the hatoful birds mature is definitely... Difficult... it's def quicker then a humans, but considering hiyoko is still about the same level of maturity as her classmates, probly not THAT different

the fact that it's close enough means that a two-year old yuuya is still gonna be a very young child tho, i don't think there's any denying that at all

which really makes the whole 'egg-smashing' thing such much more harsh to think about tbh. Kids are rash. They're not stupid, but they're also not fully matured. They haven't fully developed their ability to think through actions and consequences, they don't truly have any power in a world where the adults rule, they're at the age where they are the most impressionable...

so I can only imagine him pulling the whole 'taking care of smashing the egg thing' as like... a childish spite. Sort of a temper-tantrum, and honestly a very understandable one. can you truly blame anyone for lashing out towards the man who took away their father, especially if that man now wants to take away even more of your family? if you take away what a child loves, it's not out of the question that they'll take something from you in retaliation - it's what you just taught them, after all.

especially since one of yuuya's biggest character traits is how much he cares for his loved ones, and how he'll do anything for them. we always see this in how protective he is towards sakuya, but like... If Yuuya's got it in him to be so kind to his brother who is constantly cruel to him, of course he's probably got a lot of love for his mother as well. so if his mother was so torn up over potentially having to smash the egg of her own son, of course yuuya wouldn't have it in him to leave that responsibility - that GUILT - on her shoulders. Especially not when he's so very pissed at his father, when he's a young'in with a chance to lash out against the one who already hurt him.

Of course this 'lashing out' resulted in an innocent child in an egg getting killed. Not quite on the same level as... idk a kid getting mad when susie is irritating them with the "i'm not touching you!" game or whatever else kids will throw temper tantrums over. quite a bit worse then that.

but he was just a child, and one who didn't really have any options that allowed all of the involved parties to live.

GOD. He was so young when he joined the dove party as well!! Just 13!!!! I always sorta imagined that he joined out of a combo of not having anywhere else to turn, but also trying to 'atone' for the guilt he's carried with him for so long by then. I think it'd make sense that carrying the guilt of something like Murder for your whole life would probably drive ya to do whatever you can to... well, not 'make up for it' perse, nothing can bring back the life lost after all, but like... if you don't do all the good you can after shit like that, how can you possibly live with yourself? someone with that kind of guilt is likely not gonna feel like they can live for themself, won't feel like he deserves it, he'd probably feel like shit if he wasn't devoting himself to the well-being of others with little regard for himself

which is probably why he'd so eagerly and happily join dove party so young.

but it's also such a horrific way to think while joining an organization that's gonna train ya into (essentially) a child soldier at age 13. that's not a mindset that'll let you live long, especially when you decide to work in such a dangerous field, when you're gonna make all sorts of enemies, where your life is on the line every day.

god. he went through all of this while he was so young, in his most formative years.

he's still too young for this shit tbh. like he's still a highschooler by the end of hatoful. he's still a kid. fuck.

ya know I think one of my fave things about yuuya’s vibes is how he reads so strongly as ace to me and is still such an absolute Thot. Like the more you truly get to know him, the more proof I have to my conspiracy board that he is not just bi but bi-ace. And he is one of the only fictional characters who does not sacrifice his absolute Thottiness in that process

god. hiyoko is absolutely one of the strongest characters i've seen in fiction - not in a physical way (tho ofc we all know our fave vitality girl is def very physically tough as well) but like.

hiyoko losing her family so young and seeming completely well adjusted to living on her own by the time we see her at the start of the game, where she's like... what, 16? yea we know ryouta and his family have def helped her out a lot, b u t.

considering relations between humans and birds aint exactly perfect, there's a lot that gal sure has to go through on her own cause of her family being gone. we literally see her go through discrimination from the fucking department store clerk in holistar, sakuya's def made a few snide quips about it here, there's no way in hell that's the first time she's delt with it. and she has to deal with it ALONE. we never see any other humans as we play the game through her perspective, which makes it seem like there really aren't any important humans in her life - thus no one else who could fully empathize. no one else who Gets It. no one who can offer advice born of experience of how to deal with it. that's a wonderful way for someone to feel extremely isolated.

i feel like there's also gotta be something to be said about her financial situation when you think about the fact she lives as a hunter-gatherer. yes, she strikes me as exactly the eccentric who might do that whether she had the finances to buy food or not, she's def mentioned before she's got some emergency money from her parents as well, we do see her take on jobs so it's not like she has no money, but like.... again, she's mostly living on her own, and she seemingly has been for a While despite still being a young student... I don't particularly think it's unusual to think it's something she might have started because she didn't exactly have enough cash to get by otherwise

she's got so much on her plate and yet she's always still so kind to everyone. so cheery. so positive. so OPTIMISTIC. i think anyone in her shoes has every right to be jaded and cynical after being beaten down like she has. staying so constantly optimistic when you know the world is not kind back is so, so hard, and yet she stays so bubbly and kind and compassionate to everyone she meets as if it was nothing. We never really see any true signs of her wanting to give up, of maybe even just considering a more cynical outlook, and that's really saying something considering how much we see things directly from her point of view, how much we see her thoughts on everything.

The fact it's not directly addressed that life is this hard for her, that does read to me as though she's bottling a lot up, which def aint good for her... But the fact that she keeps such a strong smile, she never gives into cynicism despite everything, things have hurt her so strongly and yet she still looks life dead in the eye with an attitude that says "Fuck you, I choose to see the bright side of things. There are always good things that make it worth while to push forward and smile another day, and I will always spread this joy with everyone around me"

yea hiyoko is the emotionally-strongest person in the game and it's not even a contest.

i have a theory about hatoful boyfriend fans, and that's that you can tell just how deep into this bird hell someone is based on their opinions on ryuuji and hitori

i stg, throughout my time in the hatoful fandom, i've noticed most people who are newer/not super deep into the rabbit hole just don't think about ryuuji and understandably don't have a high opinion of hitori.

but the people who are stuck in this fandom love at least one of them. potentially both.

this is the nicest thing,  i love you anon,  but thank you for saying that!  Sometimes he’s got to be snarky / sassy with a certain smoothness to it.  Like no matter what,  there’s an underlining of charisma right in that southern drawl.  Plus you also got to like consider what he’s experienced throughout the years.  He’s a dark reflection and yet  wants to taste what it’s like to be human.  Sometimes I wonder being a dark reflection,  he has mostly tasted what it’s like to be human when they’re cruel,  etc.  But never the other side of what makes a human,  a human.  So affection,  love,  that is definitely a difficult process.  There are so many dark sides to what a human could be,  but there are so many other sides that make humanity better.
