i need to dissect you how are you guys a puddle liquid thing with (glowing purple, PURPLE??) eyes and tentacles somehow?? how are they attached what kind of creature(s) are you lot huh what, you are a curiosity to me. I must observe further. (without going inside the locker of course, I'm not dumb)

-it snickered at the person's curiousity, sighing softly at the rambling (or at the person's refusal to enter the locker).-

-it paused for a moment, processing its own words. it let out a hum, continuing on.-

-the void fell silent, looking down at the dark puddle in front of the locker. a small tentacle reached out to it, gently pushing the liquid.-

〈 " i suppose that is just how we are. i am aware that that may not be a satisfactory answer. but the truth, sometimes, is not what we want. we are creatures of the void, and that is as far as i know. " 〉

-it almost seemed disappointed that it was unable to provide an answer, not to the self-proclaimed researcher, but to itself. it temporarily glanced at two of its tentacles, sighing before meeting the person's gaze once more.-

〈 " our tentacles, they... how can i explain this in a way your feeble mind will understand? they are the same as your human limbs, except, due to our lack of a fully solid body, they rest internally rather than externally. " 〉

-the void made a small 'pulling' gesture with one of its tentacles as it spoke, mimicking how the z-v06 instances, itself most-likely included, drag in each victim.-

-what sounds like a small hum could be heard from inside of the locker. the eyes looked at the person before them with a look of contentment. its tentacle softly played with one of the locker's doors, pulling and pushing at it.-

〈 " i do not believe i have quite grasped your human ability to "like" and "dislike" things. i simply choose to reside in the lockers due to the fact that they are darker than most other areas. usually, light cannot reach the contents of the lockers. i find it much easier to allow myself to exist comfortably in spaces where i will not be percieved. " 〉

-it paused for a moment, letting out a brief chuckle before speaking up once more.-

〈 " i suppose, with evidence from my various studies of your kind over my many years of existence, you could consider that as me enjoying the act of existing in solitary. " 〉

-the void blinks at the person stood before them slowly, trying to piece together their sentence in a way that made logical sense to it. however, after spending a few moments trying to figure it out, it let out a long groan, a small tentacle coming out of the empty void to close one side of the locker.-

〈 " i do not understand what you are saying to me. your words make no sense. speak properly, you troglodyte. " 〉

-it let out a soft chuckle in amusement as it let go of the locker door, watching as it softly pushed itself back open. it didn't bother to attempt to close it again, allowing the door to slowly swing open once more as the tentacle retreated back into the darkness.-

〈 " i will not deny, i do agree that i am what you people would call "off-putting", though. " 〉

-the eyes from within the locker squint at the person, a faint huff escaping it. it studies them for a brief moment, almost as if trying to decipher an impossible code created without the intention to be solved.-

you've been in blacksite long enough to confidently say you know how this place works. you learn more and more with every painful retry of the same mission: gather the crystal. so, yes, you can confidently say you understand this place, that you know how each of the creatures that lurk the halls of blacksite function. or so you think, for in front of you sits an open locker. you've seen these lockers, infested and plagued by that sickly darkness that you can feel the gaze of lingering on you. it preys upon the ones who are more idiotic than others; the ones who see its eyes and still run to it for safety. you've seen this before - you've seen all of this before. you've looked the void in the eyes, and it has felt like death. yet here you are, looking the open locker in the eyes, waiting for the suction cups of those octopus-like tentacles to latch onto you and pull you in. yet it does not try to grab you. it does not try to harm you. it simply watches you. for the first time you call out to the void. the void answers back.
