While I don't fully buy the idea that all of Value's IP's are connected in one universe (things don't need to be interconnected to be good), I do really like the idea that Team Fortress and specifically Half Life 1 are.

One because Team Fortress started as a Half Life mod so it kinda works in that sense but also, Half Life has a specific artstyle that really complements that cartoony one in Team Fortress 2. It's hard to see Alyx Vance in the same world as TF2, but the scientists of Half Life 1 I can definitely see alongside the mercs.

Half Life 1's design despite working to set a dark atmosphere is kinda silly and ridiculous. I mean you have a quarter of the science staff dressing up as Albert Einstein, soldiers are going around with cigars in their mouth and every single accidental death like falling from a ladder or into a large pit is just a bit silly. Half Life scientist sounds are like a whole meme because they're just a bit ridiculous in general. It matches really well with the silliness of Team Fortress 2, one is more of a goofy team shooter and the other is a more serious but kinda silly single player game. Its fun to think of.

Unfortunately I can't find any actual proof Medic isn't a nazi, but two sources state that Robin Walker said he wasn't because it'd be "too easy"

Tho honestly the final damning fact is, would any of the mercs condone working with a nazi?

Like you could see Soldier or Scout being too oblivious to notice a nazi at first, but Heavy? Engineer?

None of the intelligent ones who can't be hand-waved with "they didn't notice" wouldn't eventually go "That medic's a nazi!"

Then the soldier would move so fast towards him that the collision would be hot enough to fully cook a turkey.

The only major characters I could see working with a nazi are the administrator and Mann brothers. Even considering Medic's value as a healer I don't see why they wouldn't insta-kill him and Engie just build a medic droid.

There's no way the mercs would stick with a nazi, the intelligent ones wouldn't condone one and the stupid ones would kill them as quickly and hilariously as possible.

That is, if nazis even exist, TF2's universe is so insane I could see "One day this guy named Hitler thought of Fascism and it was such a stupid idea that every single man, woman, child, and intelligent dolphin came to Germany to curbstomp him so hard they destroyed the very atoms in his body and that's how atomic energy was discovered by Albert Einstein who survived the explosion"
