I've been there! I have a story!

So I wasn't there during blossom season. Sad. But the deer are EVERYWHERE. They wander the urban streets it is WILD.

And when you go to like, the forest around the temples and such it's very beautiful and the deer are very cute.

But IN the city. You can feed the deer.

You need to buy little packs of crackers that you can then feed to the deer, I think there was like, 5/10 crackers per pack? And they are big, like the size of my palm.

Sound cute right? WRONG! Those city deer are ASSHOLES.

They swarm the SHIT out of you, don't matter if you have treats or NOT. I've seen them literally knock people over because they are all vying for being the closest to cracker human.

My story was as such: we found a secluded corner where some of the deer very peacefully chilling. We had some crackers, fed some deer, took great photos, amazing experience.

On the way out, I get approached by this deer, clearly expecting treats. I go "Aww, sorry buddy, I'm out." And show the deer my empty hands, turn around, and keep going.

The moment I turn around, the deer snorts, and

BITES MY ASS

I mean full on CLAMPS DOWN ON THAT THANG

THRASHES IT EVEN

Then let's go, snorts again, and runs away.

And I'm like... In pain... And also... Wtf?

So yeah the feeding of the deer at Nara has forcibly evolved entitled Karen behaviour and I was bruised for WEEKS.
