Eagles control the NFC East, defeating the Commanders 26-18

Date: November 15, 2024
The NFC East currently runs through the city of Brotherly Love.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 26-18, took a solid lead in the NFC East at 8-2, and led the Commanders by a game and a half.
The Eagles struggled in the first half, trailing 7-3 at the half, missing two field goals by kicker Jake Elliot,  who missed two throughout the night and an extra point; the Eagles had an entirely different story in the 2nd half.
Philadelphia outscored Washington 23-11 in the second half, led by Jalen Hurts one-yard touchdown run and running back Saquan Barkley scoring two rushing touchdowns in 20 seconds, with some help  from safety Reed Blankenship picking off Commanders quarterback Jaylen Daniels late in the 4th quarter setting up Barkley's 39-yard touchdown run, Saquan finished with 198 total yards on 31 touches and two touchdowns,
After the game and during Saquan Bakrley's post-game interview on set with the Thursday Night Football crew, Eagles fans kept chanting, "Thank you, Giants."
Tumblr media
Commanders tried to get back in the game, rallying late in the fourth quarter, Daniels completing a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz and completing a two-point conversion, but failed to recover the onside kick.
Eagles' defense was all over the Commanders, as Daniels struggled, completing 22 of 32 passes for 191 yards, throwing both a touchdown and an interception, and sacked 3 times. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin only caught one pass for 10 yards, and Austin Ekeler caught eight for 89 yards.
In the past two games, Daniels has been sacked 6 times, and for the first time in his rookie season, he has had consecutive games where his quarterback rating was under 90.0
Jalen Hurts, and the Eagles extend their winning streak to six games as they fly to the West Coast to play the Los Angeles Rams, while the Commanders continue their two-game losing skid and fly home. They then continue their divisional rival campaign and play the banged-up Dallas Cowboys.

Is there a masterlist of, like, actors and celebrities that have come forward for trans rights?
I know the internet has all sorts of collections of people who've done something messed up and those always depress me but reading about David Tennant being supportive in the face of the UK government and current legislation and stuff really hit me and I'd love to be able to see who else is out there standing up for us and what's right.
If not, here's a list I'm putting together, feel free to add to it or add context in the notes if you want! I'm including celebrities who have affirmed their support for trans family members even if they're not doing other activism. I'm also only listing celebrities I know of, and this list does not in any way endorse any problematic stuff any of them may have done outside of the topic.
Just making this list is cheering me up a lot tbh

TAUREAN🤼🏿‍♂️OLIVER
Tumblr media
Taurean and Oliver engage in a very close matchup.
Both #1 WRs for each team did poorly for different reasons.
Taureans Puka got injured. He may be out several weeks smh.
Oliver had St. Brown who was out targeted by a 3rd year receiver who basically is playing his 1st year because of being suspended his initial and injured in his sophomore term.
Taurean had a nice start with Mahomes on TNF adding Achane emergence in the Dolphins backfired come Sunday.
Taurean would pounce on the attack with his IDP selections. All 3 IDPs would account for most of Taureans points however in hindsight. Khalil Mack, Love, and Roquan Smith would give T false hope as the matchup drew on.
Tumblr media
Oliver's IDPs severely underperformed. You know it's bad if you have Jaylen Ramsey as benchwarmer of the week...with 3.75 points 😒
Oliver, ever the huge Buc fan, had to be steaming about Lavonte David doing better than his starters on the bench.
Oliver has more depth than most in the league with IDPs. While untradional, it can backfire as you see.
Tumblr media
At this point Oliver would steadily fight back with a monster game from Barkley who went into a divisional rival roster and exploded on the scene 🏃‍♂️
Taurean mounted a comeback to the Barkley surge in the same NFL slot when his Eagels Defense did a decent total.
Oliver's Bucs defense would match and surpass though and Jerome Ford would add blows to Taureans come back.
Taureans RB Swift did 💩 against Oliver's Ford RB slot.
While both Flex Positions did about the same with little effect (Olave & Terry would total 5 points combined 👎) ... the TE advantage went to Oliver.
Who would have guessed Pitts would way out total Evan Engram❓️
Tumblr media
Oliver still on the ropes would pull off the miracle win as he SWEET CHIN MUSIC Taurean over the ropes late during the MNF with Kicker Jake Moody.
Moodys performance would make him player of the week in the K position and propel Oliver to win this very competitive matchup.
For Taurean it was a kick in the balls as his Defense alone (mostly) would almost carry him to a win.
Ah reminder of the old Bucs days *reminisce sigh*
Tumblr media
Oliver got lowest points in a win award in SLEEPER and thus is in the top half of the league... at the half in 5th place.
Taurean gets kicked down to 9th place.
Taureans Elimination from Rumble
Taurean will look to bounce back against Carla in week 2 and Oliver takes on the Commish.
Hope you all enjoyed the Rumble Recaps 👏🏾
Onto the next of the CORE 4️⃣ Recaps in ESPN N.ERDY F.OOTBALL L.EAGUE

Shrewd Move: Aston Villa’s Transfer Strategy
As a Manchester United supporter, the transfer windows can be more stressful than matches against competition outside the Big Six. When you hear that United didn’t bring in any of Ole’s primary targets this summer, all you can do is drop your head in your hands and think, “What a shambles.”  Compare that to Aston Villa, however, and it’s no surprise they’re in in 2nd while we’re working our way back up from 15th.
After The Disaster
Let’s keep it real: Villa almost suffered the fate of Fulham after dropping a considerable fortune on players when they came up last summer. It’s a strategy I generally despise because there’s usually no plan and they don’t even know if the new players will fit in with their current squad or system; if Aston Villa was a soda last year it would be Diet Chelsea. Their disjointed play on the pitch looked poised to carry over in the transfer window if something didn’t change.
Change In Season, Change In Strategy
As the January transfer window kicked off, I remember hearing about Aston Villa’s need for signings if they were going to stay up. I also remember how calm Dean Smith was about that. He said that they’d identified the positions they wanted to bring players in for, they had a list with primary, secondary, and tertiary targets, and they’d move through the gears to fill those spots. As the window closed I remember them saying they had one position left to fill, felt confident they would, and they actually got all of their targets without any fuss. Their form didn’t pick up until after the pandemic hit and they had time to get the team together and really work off the pitch to bring the team up to speed tactically and mentally.
Summer Success
They took the strategy from January and reapplied it in the summer, focusing on strengthening in certain positions, having a list of targets, and simply pursuing them from the start. No dilly dallying, no “well they’re not available, who else is on the market?” They know what positions need a new body, they identified players who should fit that position and their system, and they set out to get them. If their top choice isn’t available, they have a second and third choice who could do the job just as well and it shows. This summer, they did phenomenal business, bringing in Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Martinez, Ross Barkley, Matty Cash, Bertrand Traoré, and resigning Jack Grealish. I expect them to go on to do really well this season. Will they win the league? I don’t think so, but it’s 2020, so we’ll see. ⚽
