Things the Brigadier can believe:
Random man with two hearts is in fact the doctor who has entirely changed how he looks.
Said doctor can travel in space and time in a telephone box.
Plastic mannequins are being controlled by an alien intelligence and attempting to destroy the human population.
The loch ness monster is in fact a creature brought to earth by shape shifting aliens.
Things the Brigadier cannot believe:
He was drugged and consequently fell asleep on duty.

Trying to be a bit braver with the colours and composition this time! This is acrylics on cold-pressed watercolour block.

Terror of Zygons 1975

8/10
Fantastic episode. Absolutely love this one. I love the random UNIT episodes that are thrown in occasionally. The Zygons are a creepy villain.

Many monsters in the original Doctor Who series were the result of collaboration between the BBC's costume, makeup and visual effects departments, or with freelance firms.
A perfect example would be the namesake aliens of 'Terror of the Zygons'; the initial design was sketched by the serial's assigned costume designer James Acheson (future Oscar-winning costume designer of Time Bandits, Brazil, Dangerous Liaisons and The Last Emperor). Acheson looked at half-formed embyros in amniotic sacs for inspiration!
It was beyond the capacity of the BBC's own costume department to make, so Acheson turned to sculptor John Friedlander of the BBC's Visual Effects Department. Friedlander sculpted the ribcage, head and face of the Zygon suits.

The Meglos one is especially nice, especially with Jacqueline Hill's character.

My ★★½ review of Doctor Who: Terror of the Zygons on Letterboxd https://boxd.it/6LjojF
THAT was Harry's last episode?! My god, the gulf between classic and modern Who in terms of the level of ceremony given to companion departures is hilarious. If RTD had made this, there'd be at least 10 minutes of hugging and crying and OTT Murray Gold music. Even Dan got more of a send off in Power Of The Doctor.
Anyway, it's nice to see Four occasionally do a Pertwee episode. I'd missed the old staple of a Very Important Peace Summit under attack. That said, the final episode botches things a bit and contrivances abound eg. the Zygons just assuming the Doctor's dead because he's lying down and leaving him unguarded

The BBC Books line gives us our first newcomer to the world of Doctor Who as we take a look at horror novelist Mark Morris' homage to the Hinchcliffe years. That's right, it's time for The Bodysnatchers.
(Also, the subtitle for this one was a toss-up between "The Stingers of Weng-Chiang" and "The Suckers of Weng-Chiang." The latter may be marginally more anatomically correct, but fortunately for you all I do have some standards.)
