it's such a tragic irony that swifties, who rallied so hard for regulations on AI usage - because we all knew and experienced how dangerous it can be in the worst possible way, still continue to use AI to generate songs and alarm sounds and album/song covers using taylor's voice like it doesn't violate her artistry at all. and then defend it by saying this is different because they're doing it with positive intentions. there's literally nothing productive about using AI to generate any kind of content, especially not when that content is a blatant (and disgustingly shallow) impersonation of someone swifties claim to love and respect so much

Personal opinion:

I loathe the AI pictures of Snape. It’s a complete jumpscare 100% of the time. They give him hard abs like … huh? It’s Alan Rickman Snape… Alan Rickman had some chub to him please I cannot handle this. /neg

Maybe it’s because in all of my HP related DRs, Snape is my father figure. So, uh, there’s that to throw into the mix.

ALSO this is off topic, but I realized some select individuals like the combination of Severitus AND Snarry. This discover has, in fact, made my life ten times worse. Some of y’all are sick fucks, I hope you know that.

I'm shocked that tumblr hasn't talked more about the willy wonka glasgow event currently it has so many talking points awful ai art advertising it (unsurprisingly awful), the fact the whole thing was scripted by ai (again unsurprisingly awful), the bigger discourse on why ai is shit and the use of it to scam people, the just abysmal overrall look of the thing like it is dashcon levels of bad, the unknown just being there terrifying children for no known reason. It's got it all

I think what sucks most about the current state of AI is that it *could've* been a genuine good assistant at a lot if it was created with ethics in mind. Smaller training pools with people getting compensated with their work being used as a training tool, the servers being made with sustainability in mind, etc. If the people making AI actually focused on making it ethical and sustainable it'd be amazing but it's just not because that's not what tech bros care about

i don’t think it ever had a chance to be “good”, tbh. any tool a ceo thinks will save money in the short term will be used to eliminate work, ethically developed or not. and i think that’ll happen en masse. in the states, what we have for a social safety net is being actively dismantled, and i honestly cannot see ubi becoming a thing here.

so one of my main hang ups in addition to all the concerns i’ve raised so far, is the fact it’s gonna put a lot of folks out of work with nothing to catch them.

idk when ceos get excited about something, i fear the worst.
