as per this post (and closely related to my thoughts on plumage ornamentation), here i am to talk about colours and their possible Meanings in rito accessories and mayhaps even cloths — particularly in the context of having them made for or gifting them to someone else (outside of status indicators)! there's general meanings and like. "conveyed" meanings, written in italics:

red and associated shades — drive for life; make it home (to us, safe). one of the most commonly given colours, symbolising a determination and promise to live through all your battles and see the next day (and the next, and the next, and so on). the brighter the hue, the more "life" you are wishing unto the receiver. rubies are at once practical (for the chill of their mountains) and the pinnacle for make it home.

pink symbolises budding life; live and grow. this colour is often adorned on younglings!

orange and associated shades — admiration; your tailfeathers are worth chasing. mostly given to really accomplished folks, though this is (as most similar vibes are in this list) absolutely subjective. when given to younglings, the conveyed meaning turns into your tailfeathers will be worth chasing. darker hues can mean a deeper well of admiration, something akin to my/our admiration for you has steeped for long.

yellow and associated shades — community; you are one of us. another of the most commonly given colours, symbolising connectedness to your people. for non-rito, the breadth of this meaning can range from simple non-hostility (we welcome you) to the original you are one of us.

green and associated shades — connection to the winds; may the Windlines be ever in your favour. another of the most commonly given colours! the scope of this one's a little broad with how the Windlines are such a huge part of their lives, but generally, this is a wish for all the receiver's endeavours to be met and supported. among rito, this can also stand as an indicator of how attuned one is to their Windlines — i.e. a mark of one to be respected. deeper hues indicate a deeper connection (actual or wished) to the Windlines.

blue and associated shades — deep respect; you have much to offer (you should be listened to). mostly a status colour: saved for elders and masters, the wisest or most enlightened of folks. again, outside of those with official titles, this can be subjective. the brighter the hue, the more you are indicating this person is deeply respected.

purple doesn't really have its own separate meaning so much as it piggy-backs off of blue's — a "softer" sort of respect. i am listening. even more of a status/role colour. really dark blue is counted as purple.

white (no other associated shades like cream or anything. just white) — high hopes; make your own colours. speaks of a deep-seated belief in the receiver. in essence, you are (1) trusting that they do not need this (part of your) gift coloured to know what you are saying and (2) acknowledging their potential to, yeah, make their own colours! whether this is achieved through painting or dying whatever you've given them themself or letting whatever colours naturally stain the white, it doesn't matter!

that being said, white is never given just on its own! too much of it can turn into meaning i don't care about you enough to give you colours (and hence, meaning).

This has been meaningless. His campaign moves at a glacial pace.

We share a similar name because he started it years ago, but I have been running it solo for almost 8 years now and have nothing to do with his other blog(s) or whatever it going down. Thank you!

Further explanation/information under the cut about who runs this blog:

While the/an admin of Writing-prompt-s did start this blog years ago, he then left it to idle and focused on his original blog. I saw this and reached out, again years ago, asking to run it - to which I was promoted to admin. I have been running Drawing-prompt-s solo for about 7 or 8 years now.

Until yesterday (08.06.24) I had no idea anything was even going on with his blog. I have nothing to do with it, I barely even see anything from it aside from the rare prompt come up on my dash nowadays. I only found out when I went to Q a bunch of posts up and found a slew of hate mail ranging from calling me a zionist, threatening violence, and telling me to kill myself. And one of my followers having sent an anon informing me that one of those posts had incorrectly stated he ran this blog as well - that user has since recognized that this is not the case, and various others have pointed it out.

I had a pinned post about this before and when I left for a few hours and came back it was gone. I am working under the assumption right now this is just the fault of Tumblr, though I am tentative about that. So if you see this posted again that is why, and if you see this exact post made again then just be aware it is becuase I am saving a copy of this message and each time the post is removed I will be reposting it, as i am saving this elsewhere so I do not have to rewrite it each time.

I do not want argument under this - I have caught up on everything going on, I have seen the post saying he runs this one, etc. All I wanted for this blog is to post prompts, share art, and encourage others to follow their passion for creation. And occasionally to drop cute cat pictures of my little gremlins.

UPDATE - RUBA AND IYAD (VETTED)

A lot of you will know that I have been trying to get more eyes on Iyad's fundraiser and encourage donations for the past few months. Now I want you to pay attention to this too:

Some of you may know Ruba from her previous fundraising attempts @rubashabansblog (now shadowbanned). Iyad and Ruba are neighbors who live close to each other in the tents. They are like family to each other. Both of them have run into major trouble both with GoFundMe and Tumblr (and in Ruba's case GoGetFunding as well) and have had to restart fundraising from 0 multiple times.

Iyad's family lost a total of 11k due to GFM deleting his fundraiser, Ruba's family lost a total of 27k due to GFM withholding funds. (overview of Ruba's troubles with fundraising here)

Ruba was recently injured badly and had to be taken to the hospital. Treatment was expensive and since they couldn't possess their funds from gfm, they weren't able to pay for it themselves. Iyad took Ruba to the hospital, helped her, and payed for her treatment. Since Ruba's family has no other way to access their raised funds, her family and Iyad's family are now sharing this same fundraiser:

Iyad's and Ruba's fundraisers have both been independently vetted by @/nabulsi and @/el-shab-hussein and are on their Vetted Gaza Fundraisers Spreadsheet. Iyad's is no. 177/173 and Ruba's is no. 94/90. Please keep in mind that these are their previous GFMs and have not been updated to their current situation.

if you've been following me on my other account, you'll know that i've been posting for a while now about my friend siraj's campaign. it has been progressing very slowly, and the need for funds for siraj and their family is becoming even more vital as bombings and tent conditions worsen.
