Flow Finance Fun (FFF): The Consumer Crypto & DeFi

If you’ve never heard of Flow blockchain, you might have been cryogenically frozen for the last half-decade or have never watched a free throw at the NBA. Flow blockchain has consistently brewed bangers, in culture and entertainment amounting to a current market cap over half a billion dollars, but let’s not forget — it once soared to a whopping $5.4 billion during the glory days of 2021. Ahh, those were the days, when NFTs were flying off the shelves faster than avocado toast at a Sunday brunch.

Isolated Consumer Crypto

It was a quiet night, the sky an inky velvet blanket shined with stars, the streets nearly deserted. The gentle hum of the sea lapping against the harbor could barely be heard through the open window of Charles Leclerc’s apartment. Charles was slumped on his couch, and his mother Pascale sat beside him, she was the only anchor of peace he had at the moment.

For a while they remained silent, the silence was not as comforting as it usually was.

Pascale knew her son, his way of thinking and problem solving, but clearly at the moment her son was feeling suffocated by his own thoughts.

“ Charles” her voice was soft, she placed her hand gently on his hand, rubbing in a slow comforting circle.

“ You don’t need to say anything, remember I’m always hear”

He raised his head, his eyes read and glossy.  He blinked, taking in the familiar faces of his mother, he deeply exhaled he was finally safe at home.

“ Maman it hurts” he said, his voice almost inaudible “ I thought that she..” his voice shaked, the sentence trailing off as a fresh wave of pain hit him.

She continued to try to console the young man, looking at him with compassion. Charles’ eyes sparkled everytime when he was talking about Leah, everybody could see that the driver was in love. Obviously in all relationships there was some up and down, but with more time passed, more problems were showing up. 

“ You really loved her didn’t you?” she asked

Charles softly nodded, “ I did……I thought we were something special and deep, we promised each other that we would be there for each other, in any situation" 

“ Did you think she was the one Charles?” she asked, the room was silent one more time. She carefully stared at him, while he was trying to force words out of his mouth, but nothing came out, he didn’t have an answer.

“ It’s alright if you don’t know” shesaid, her voice filled with love.

Charles swallowed hard “ I really thought she was the one Maman” his voice was croaky “After all this I don’t know…. how can I ?” he rubbed his face confused

“ I still can’t believe, I didn’t expect it, yes I’ve busy….” he sighed “ her best friend’s boyfriend, how can she be the one I fell in love?” he said astonished.

“ Charles you loved her, of course you trusted her, but unfortunately sometimes the people we love the most are the one who hurt us”

Charles leaned into his mother’s embrace, resting his head on her shoulder, he didn’t say anything else for a long time.

"Do you think I’ll ever find someone who’s really… the one?" he asked eventually, his voice laced with uncertainty.

Pascale smiled softly, pressing a kiss to his temple. "You will. But you don’t need to rush it, Charles. Love will come when it’s meant to. And when it does, you’ll know. Truly know."

Charles closed his eyes, letting her words settle into his heart, allowing himself the small comfort they brought. He didn’t have all the answers right now, and maybe that was okay.

Maybe healing didn’t come from having everything figured out, but from the quiet moments of support, the love that never wavered, even when everything else did.

Couriers have been seen going in and out, delivering flowers and lavish gifts, sparking speculation. An insider has apparently managed to get a scoop from one of the delivery drivers, who confirmed that the gifts are coming from none other than model Ben Fields.

For those not in the loop, Ben Fields allegedly cheated on Renée with her best friend, influencer Leah Dawn. The question on everyone's mind now: is Ben trying to win Renée back after his betrayal? Only time will tell if these grand gestures are enough to heal the damage caused by the scandalous affair.

#VidaReal Globoface clássica em TrueType, existe?!...

Acabo de descobrir que a famosa “fonte do gerador de caracteres da Globo”, que também frequentou alguns comerciais impressos da Volkswagen, com algumas alterações, SIM, chegou a existir em formato digital.

E mais, em um GC igual ao do SBT (na verdade, todas as emissoras, menos a Manchete e a TV Cultura, já usaram esse equipamento, incluindo outras empresas como Polishop, TVE, Radiobrás, Rede Gospel, Televisa e Walt Disney do Brasil - sei lá, acho que só eu não tive esse GC na América Latina mesmo - e era em Standard Definition, imagine se fosse HD. E mais, a TV Globo usava em programações secundárias, como aberturas de minisséries estrangeiras em uma época em que eles decidiram fazer um visual próprio para cada minissérie - e aparentemente também era o GC do TV Pirata de 1988 a 1990. A TVE fazia um telejornal inteiro, de madrugada, só com as notícias na tela usando esse GC.

Era o da Rede Paranaense, em 1992 - a mesma daquelas telas paradas de 1999. Aquela que já me fez arrancar os cabelos de como seu padrão visual era diferente das outras, fora um certo mau gosto nas trilhas sonoras... (tudo isso a partir de 2023 vendo pelo YouTube, eu nunca estive tanto tempo no Paraná que pudesse assistir á essa emissora.)

Na Rede Paranaense, o logo do telejornal era feito pelo próprio GC, em vez de ser um gráfico importado de outro lugar, como costumava ser em outras afiliadas.

Reparem que NÃO É A VAG ROUNDED (que existe tranquilamente em TrueType e poderia até ser, mas não é). Imagens de 1994.

Esse GC, ao que tudo indica, baseava os tipos de letra em fontes TrueType. Ao contrário de equipamentos da mesma época (como os de Manchete e Globo), onde as letras eram pixel arts de, sei lá, 5 ou 6 tamanhos diferentes, com os dados gravados em placas de expansão - inclua-se o GC das aberturas das novelas globais - mas esse outro equipamento fazia letras de qualquer tamanho, inclusive intermediários que até então não existiam (como visto nas primeiras edições do Aqui Agora, onde as manchetes eram menores do que seriam depois). Qualquer tamanho e qualquer aspecto também (condensado, expandido, etc.), como vimos no Programa Livre. Fora rotacionar e até espelhar as letras, algo de necessidade zero em 90% da programação de TV convencional.

Outra prova é que eu, ávido colecionador dessas coisas, já encontrei todos os tipos de letra usados pelo SBT nesse equipamento em fontes TrueType que só podem ser as próprias, sendo totalmente idênticas - (Helvetica bold e normal, Univers Bold, Futura, Cooper Bold, Prestige, Latin 721 e Windsor - esta última muito rara, mas tá lá. E todos pelo mesmo fabricante, a Bitstream.

(Curiosidade, a Helvetica ‘roman’ nunca foi usada pelo SBT, mas foi abusada por outras empresas, como a Polishop.)

O que eu acho curioso é a, digamos “personalidade” na escolha de alguns desses typefaces. Cooper sempre foi usado a versão black antes desse GC aparecer. Prestige nunca foi unanimidade para quem teve máquinas de escrever elétricas, o pessoal usava mais a Courier. (A Prestige teve seu estrelato total no Canal 21, quando este ainda tinha infraestrutura e jornalismo próprio.)

Também existem da Bitstream outras fontes que eu vi em outros programas (inclusive horários políticos) e “acho” que é o mesmo GC só que numa segunda geração, como Handel Gothic, Brody e Futura Bold Condensed.

E onde estará essa fonte de terminações arredondadas? Porquê mesmo em sites profissionais nós não a encontramos?...

Essa pode ser a fonte digital mais exclusiva do mundo - talvez só perca para a Folha Serif, de Lucas De Groot, desenhada para a Folha de São Paulo, usada há mais de 20 anos e jamais vista em nenhum outro lugar.

Internet, uma droga

A internet age como uma droga, uma droga acessível e lícita, pois ao mesmo tempo que ajuda, atrapalha, ao mesmo tempo que contém boas informações, te prende como um cachorro raivoso na coleira.

A era da internet tem acabado com o ser humano, desde o novo ao velho, não conversam nem interagem uns com os outros, mas são cheios de “amigos” quando pegam o celular. É um mundo irreal, que não se habita nele com o copo, mas com a mente. A droga da internet como costumo chamar é usada pelo ser humano com algumas finalidades, como para ter dopamina “de graça” e sem esforço algum, diversão, uma espécie de escape do que é real, mas por quê?

Por que estamos cansados, fatigados das obrigações diárias, assim como há pessoas que recorrem a vícios ilícitos, a quem recorra a internet como meio de escape, sabemos que dentro da internet a meios que trazem o prazer que a dopamina nos dá, mas é um prazer momentâneo que ao sair das telas tudo acaba e vem o desânimo, a dor de cabeça, dor nos olhos, uma sensação de estar “bêbado”.

Engraçado como quando dizem “vício em internet” ou “vicio em celular”, não acreditam que isso exista, falam que isso é balela, que não existe se viciar em celular ou internet, mas pense, qual foi a última vez que ficou fora de casa sem seu celular e não se preocupou com ele ou por estar sem ele? Quando foi a última vez que ficou sem verificar suas redes sociais, suas notificações porque “alguém pode ter mandado mensagem”, mesmo você sabendo que não tem nada e o celular nem vibrou!

Essa sensação de sentir o celular vibrar mesmo não tendo vibrado se chama Síndrome da vibração fantasma, a primeira vez foi descrita, foi em um artigo publicado no jornal norteamericano New Pittsburgh Courier, em 2003. Desde então, cientistas de vários lugares do mundo investigaram a condição e, mais recentemente, pesquisadores das universidades de Indiana e Purdue (EUA) descobriram que estudantes universitários estão mais propensos a sentir os efeitos da síndrome. De 290 pessoas ouvidas, 258 disseram sentir isso pelo menos uma vez em 15 dias.

Uma psicóloga diz que não é uma doença, é uma sensação, "É uma sensação apenas, não é uma doença. Você tem a impressão de que o aparelho est�� tocando, porque isso fazer parte do seu cotidiano, está mais ligado a um hábito", diz a psicóloga Anna Lucia King, professora da UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) e uma das fundadoras do Instituto Delete, que trata pessoas com dependência tecnológica.

Então, o vício em telas e principalmente na internet é de corrente do cansaço, mas não deveríamos descansar quando estamos fatigados? Sim! Mas para muitos ficar no celular é um meio de descanso, porém se torna um meio de descanso para o corpo, mas pra mente se torna um peso, o peso de ver vidas perfeitas, a quantidade exagerada de informações, a comparação, tudo isso pesa a mente. Igor, você curte a tipografia de máquinas de escrever? Tenho aqui em casa uma Hermes Baby dos anos 60 com uma fonte que acho muito interessante (Hermes Techno Pica, 10cpi) e uma Olivetti Studio 44 com fonte Paica 10cpi (padrão Olivetti). Adoraria se alguém criasse uma versão digital delas!

Curto sim, na verdade um dos meus projetos de fontes era um typeface muito comum nos anos 80 que não existe em digital. Descrever em texto é difícil, e eu tenho UMA imagem em baixa resolução, mas a diferença mais gritante para as demais fontes de máquina de escrever é um "g" minúsculo com apenas uma volta e uma linha horizontal em cima, um design que beira o ousado por não ter nada parecido em outros typerfaces. Mais raras ainda são os typefaces sans serif, parece que 5% vieram pro Brasil, incrível!... Ô, Getúlio, coméquié, meu filho??? Pesquisando, a Hermes é aquela fonte quadrada e arredondada que foi usada muito tempo em legendagem de filmes, e minha avó teve uma dessas. E meu tio tem, mas nunca soube aonde, uma mega rara, uma máquina manual com a fonte possivelmente chamada Bulletin em itálico!! (Aquela fonte onde a base do 2 é um til, em vez de uma linha reta). E tem isso também. Algumas typefaces como Courier, Prestige, Letter Gothic e Orator foram feitas em formato digital (obrigado, Bitstream), sem ser um escaneamento da máquina. Pra mim, faltam essas outras também...

I regret to inform you that Don Madaline Giovanni, childe of Maestro Enrico Giovanni, was murdered in an ambush three days ago.

We are certain it was a retaliation by the Chicago Ventrue.  I have included all current financials for you to review and it's clear that none of our businesses have been compromised in the lead up to this moment.  Without the loss of revenue or markets, we can only conclude the retaliation was personal.  

To further support this theory, our cousin Vincenzo Giovanni, Don of Cleveland, has claimed that personal items of Don Madaline have been returned to him by the Ventrue as a peace offering and a request to cease hostilities.  Vincenzo has assumed the office of Padrone of the Central Territory pro tem, as you had not yet formally invested Don Madaline and she had not yet designated a successor.  We await your word on the matter.

Don Madaline’s remains have not been recovered.  Vincenzo is currently in possession of whatever it was the Ventrue offered and is negotiating the peace in Chicago.

Mariana set down her pen.  She was sure there was more to include, but the formal report didn’t have room for her accusations or speculation.  That would have to wait until more of the story could be found.  With a frustrated sigh, she folded the letter and sealed it with a dollop of ocean blue wax and pressed her personal seal into it.  Following the old forms were a necessity when dealing with the Anziani.  A phone call would have been quicker but so many of the Elders found such things intrusive and lacking proper respect to family matters. 

It went into a courier’s pouch, along with the business reports proving her theory on the Ventrue attack and handed it to Grant, her ghoul and nephew.  “Find Gina and the two of you take that to the Maestra.  Don’t wait for a reply. She can send her own messenger.”

Normally she could trust Grant to travel on his own, taking with him whatever cousin could be spared for travel, but considering the recent conflict, it would be best if both Proxied cousins stuck together.  A little extra strength or a little extra speed, even in daylight hours, would be the deciding factor in survival.  There was a ceasefire, brought on by the authority of a Camarilla archon, but since that same archon had also been a target of the ambush that killed Madaline, Mariana didn’t have any deep faith the Ventrue would hold to it.  

Grant nodded once and left quietly, leaving her alone with Lady Cassandra.  Once the door closed, the elder Kindred rose from her seat and put a small object on the desk in front of Mariana.  It was a gold ring, badly scorched and twisted.  Mariana picked it up with careful fingers, feeling the soot and the grime come off on her skin.  The engraving on the face was filled in by crumbling soot, making it easy to see the signet of the Don of Chicago. 

 “It was part of the Ventrue peace offering?” Mariana asked, looking up at Lady Cassandra and meeting those ghostly white eyes, the black pupils almost lost in that deadly field.  “I’m surprised Vincenzo gave you back one of Madaline’s rings.  He didn’t seem to want to part with them.”

“I did not ask.” 

Mariana repressed a smile at her cousin’s forbidding tone.  “For the best, I’m sure.”  She rubbed the design with one slow thumb, wanting to ask Cassandra if she had seen a vision of the meeting, whether or not she had seen the outcome.  Certainly that if there had been any hint that danger awaited them, Cassandra would have warned them.  She wouldn’t have let any of them, let alone her own several times great-grandaughter, walk into a trap.

“It is yours now.”

Mariana accepted the Lady’s decision silently.  There was no better candidate than herself at this moment and nothing short of an order from the Lady would make her call Vincenzo or the maestra for reinforcements.  Cassandra had better things to do than to wrestle the many family investments, as her talents lay elsewhere.  It was Ettore’s privilege to work for the Lady.  Maxwell worked for Mariana.  And Nicky…  Well, Nicky was an entirely different ball of wax.  Mariana would work for Nicky as she had his niece if Lady Cassandra decided he should pick up the reins of his former job.  Mariana would do it without question as Nicky had never given her any reason to doubt him, but given that he was very like now bathing in Ventrue blood, cease fire or no, it was perhaps best if someone of cooler head took over the family business. 

“Very well.  Did you see that in your visions, Lady Cassandra?”  Mariana handed the damaged ring back to her kinsman.  Regardless of which cousin took the role, the ring would be replaced with a new one.  Not just for the damage in the fire that killed its previous wearer, but for the death connection.  Any family killed while in an office respect had their ring retired, normally placed in the family shrine with other relics of veneration.  Outsiders would call it nothing more than a bad luck superstition, but for the Giovanni, it was another way to speak with the ghost of the slain.  

“No.”  The necromancer shook her head, eyes tracking things that Mariana couldn’t see.  

“But,” Mariana continued, “It’s the padrone’s privilege to confirm the don of a city.”

“Vincenzo will be in agreement.”  Cassandra spoke with a firmness that suggested their cousin would find himself in peril were she to contradict her choice.

“Did you see that in your visions?” Mariana asked, a little more tartly than she had intended, earning a hard cold stare from the necromancer.  

“Vincenzo will not cross me and I have had enough of his meddling.”

letra courier new, minúsculo, justificado, agora sim. confortável. neste mês iniciei tantas coisas novas, novos hábitos e este é um deles: fazer a retrospectiva do mês baseado em fotos do

instamini e também outros acontecimentos aleatórios. estava com sono e do nada plim. agora são 23:57 de 31 de agosto de 2022 – e eu vou terminar este escrito já em setembro, mas ok. ai ai setembro, daqui 2 minutos começa meu

mês favorito e sinto borbulhas típicas de virada de ano. mas

o foco não é setembro, e sim agosto.

agosto só não foi mais triste porque aqui não é tão frio, eu

não senti a tristeza nos ossos – ai nina nina, tu me entendes.

eu senti uma tristeza, mas dessas que aguento. diferente,

nova, mas tive repertório que criei neste mês mesmo. (virou

o relógio – it’s september!). volta. o mês passou passando

– assim, geralmente parece que demora. não sei dizer se

demorou, parece que passou rápido, mas ao mesmo tempo 01/08

parece séculos atrás.

começo com 31/07, uma foto de eduardo engraçadinha no café

que fomos com seus amigos. foi um dia que me senti deslocada

e não vista. faziam 3 dias se não me engano que havia

confessado minha paixão. a verdade é que depois disso, só

desandou. mas gostei da minha coragem de comunicar, ainda

que com farpas na garganta e ainda que tu com tuas não
