FDA Weighs in on Visitor-Delivered Food: “Perfectly Safe.”

Last January, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) began research into the effects that traversing the Visitor Plane has on food. This was prompted by the spread of a viral video of a man claiming that food he consumed from popular delivery service and well-known Visitor employer Dear Grocer, gave him the ability to "hear colors."

This sparked similar claims in the comments of the video as well in comments sections on various other social media sites where the video was reshared. After a year of research and study the FDA issued a notice stating that these claims are false, and advised that anyone claiming to have the ability to hear colors schedule an appointment with their general practitioner, as they may have a neurological condition known as synesthesia. The agency further stated that while the Visitor Plane does have some effect on the food that goes through it, and it is unclear what exactly the effect is, the food is "perfectly safe" to consume.

"The food that passes through [The Visitors Plane] undeniably has something happen to it, but an apple that goes through is still an apple once it's on the other side. It's like multiplying something by one; while a process has occurred, things are fundamentally unchanged. The food is perfectly safe to eat." The agency states.

This notice has raised questions related to the safety of having other materials travel through the Visitors Plane, including humans themselves:

The FDA has elected not to comment on these inquiries, stating that they would be better answered by the Department of Transportation. However, they did reiterate that food transported through the Visitors Plane is fine for human consumption.

Time to show off some talents and share a little honesty with your ship-mates! For this task, during one of your upcoming nighttime gatherings this week (be it for meals or simple socializing) you must engage in a little show & tell!

SHOW: Show off a talent of yours to the rest of the ship-mates. Your talent must be something that the ship-mates can witness you doing, be it singing, agility, speed, flexibility, strength, crafting/creativity or something else entirely.

TELL: Tell your ship-mates openly who has caught your eye and why. You must name at least 2 other ship-mates. The ship-mates you name have to be present at the time.

Everybody who participates in Show & Tell will receive a mini care package consisting of:

1 bar of soap

1 wash cloth

1 body towel

1 tube of Lip Balm

1 3oz. bottle of mouthwash

1 box of granola bars (10 ct)

Although the in-game duration is 1 week, everyone has the rest of the month of January to get threads going. You can post a starter or reply to a starter relating to this task. For any starters posted to or replied to for this task, it is assumed that every character is present at the time. If you decide to plot with someone on a closed starter, it is still assumed to at least start out in a setting where everyone is present. Where things go from there is up to you and whoever you write with! Please tag any starters ‘swtask’!
