I was actually looking for a good mdzs fanfic to read and you have blessed me with a new chapter and I am forever thankful! (Tho if u have some reccs… jk unless you really want to)

I hate how JGY is catching on and is planning to essentially use everything good in Wwx’s life against him. Especially about Jin ling. I fear for that boy. I do love that JGY has caught on to the fact that probably the most dangerous person in this whole operation is LWJ because of his devotion to WWX even though the truly most dangerous person has yet to reveal himself. Actually, speaking of Nie Huaisang, my mind can’t help but go to JGY talking to NMJ’s head. God that was creepy but honestly I could see him doing that. Also JGY being jealous of Jiang Cheng because Xichen talks about him so much? Hilarious. Tho a small part of me does wonder if he’ll get a little revenge on him for that. Curious as to what’s happening with WQ and WN because Wwx is no longer there and I love those two an unnecessary amount or when the topic of MXY will inevitably come up.

The juniors not telling JL about WWX is both tragic and understandable and I respect them for it. WWX mother henning them immediately after they got back is adorable. Plus the little bonus of LSZ’s memories being maybe brought back a little?? Also LWJ just sitting back and going “ah, so this is why my son is perfect”. Adorable and I will be screaming about this for at least an hour.

LWJ’s gay panic over literally just sleeping in the same bed will never not be funny. Just as WWX cuddling closer to him because he’s cold will never not be adorable.

LUNNAAAA, hey. Nice to see you. You're awesome and incredible. First off, MDZS fic recs!!! I always think a good fanfic writer is a fanfic reader as well, so watch as I crack my knuckles and offer up some of my favourites. Transmuter by WithLoweredVoices (completed) left me gnawing at the bars of my cage, and I think it's a brilliant modern type AU with magic/cultivation still sticking around. The world building is incredible without feeling janky and shoved in there, and the plot leaves me swooning. (Also check out this author's Grimoire (ongoing) because it's JUST as good, exploring Fae and dragons - what more could you want?) Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat by thefireplanet (completed) is a brilliant Dungeon Meshi AU - one that you can read without watching/reading its source material. It also made me watch Dungeon Meshi, it's just that good. The Shade of Old Trees by Kryal (completed) is another modern AU, with a certain demonic cultivator being found frozen in ice after a loong period of time, and hyjinks ensuing as scientists try to come to terms with the fact that this dude isn't actually DEAD. (I do have other fic recs, so please tell me if you want more) Oh, Jin Guangyao is definitely plotting and planning to twist everything Wei Wuxian has in his life and RUIN IT. He's done it before, he's had thirteen years to slowly break the man down - it shouldn't take a lot of time to do it again. Plus, having everyone who cares about Wei Wuxian in his reach is brilliant for him, but not at all so great for anyone else. I do believe he just yaps to Nie Mingjue's head a lot, because there's no way that the head can tell anyone - the only way he can trust someone with his secrets, teehee (also, I completely did reference the Good Place Ariana meme as a prompt for that entire scene. I love that you view Nie Huaisang as the most dangerous person in this game of chess - and, in this game of chess, he is - however, for someone being used as a pawn, there's only so far one can go before they move to destroy the whole board to stop it. Jin Guangyao may or may not have something planned with the Wens and Mo Xuanyu - after all, how is he to properly break Wei Wuxian down without using the very people he wished to help against him? Lan Sizhui is perfect and no, I will not be taking any response to this. I cannot deny that I'm positively buzzing with excitement at the angsty reveal scenes I (do not) have planned for the juniors, but they are a long way off from where we are right now, so I must reign it in until it finally comes up. Wei Wuxian is always a mother hen before he is anything else, so yes he will baby the teenagers, what the hell are you gonna do about it? Lan Wangji is seeing this and thinking "wife behaviour??" LAN WANGJI AND WEI WUXIAN ARE SO SWEET AND WHOLESOME I SURE HOPE NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I SURE. I SURE HOPE. THAT. THAT DOESN'T. HAPPEN. NAAUUUR 😭😭😭 SAAAD that’s SUCH a common response tbh (to the horror thing) :,) i get it tho. There is plenty of good horror that isn’t necessarily very scary tho lmao. My favorite era of horror is the 80s, and there’s plenty of fun wacky flicks from that era that arent very high up on the scary scale.

Also fuck yeah I love thrifted jackets!! I have multiple thrifted green jackets I have plans to use for patches. Two already have patches sewn on, another is blank rn. Probably gonna get more progress on the other two before I start that one. I’m big into DIY alt stuff, like Kandi jewelry and clothing mods. It makes being alt easier since I’m poor af and buying shit is always a risk 🥴

I don’t have much of a beat by beat narrative fleshed out rn. I’m mostly in the concept stage rn. Trying to nail down my inspirations, symbolism, intent with the story, as well as what everything will represent/mean/imply in the greater message overall. I usually wouldn’t go this hard over the lil details and poetics of everything but like wheghwgw my intent w/ this film isn’t to just make a goofy lil slasher or monster flick, but a more meaty film to properly represent what I wanna convey: WHICH IIISSS lycanthropy as a representation of transmasculinity, depersonalization, alienation from society, and the effects of internal and external struggles on young trans people as they’re trying to find their place in the world. As well as how community can save victimized and alienated trans ppl. this commentary is like WOAHHH yeah you totally explained that so well, when i was younger i absolutely read these storylines (and sex pollen tropes in general) as like, an absolution. it's ok to read these because you see it wasn't her (my) desire, it wasn't her (my) sexuality, she (i) just couldn't help it, this was a thing that was happening and nothing could stop it teehee yay

there's a really interesting thorny heaviness to it

to me it would be one thing if this storyline, these tropes were only articulated in the case of gold x bronze. combined with the kind of casual way AM refers to greens and greenriders as the sexual relief for the weyr it REALLY skews it back to horrifying to me tho. and add onto that AM's ideas about "oh they'll just become gay it's fine": YIKES

so i like to reach into the sex pollen trope and spread it out a little and think ok, maybe "It's not Your Fault and You're Still a Good Girl" is how it works, but not for everyone and not all the time and how would difference in class (dragon's rank) affect the experience of this event..... yeah

Dragonflight

I read that beat up old copy of Dragonflight, a book published 55 years ago, and I truly enjoyed it. Spoilers for an old book follow, so be warned.

Like yeah there's a real 'not like other girls' vibe going on, somewhat mitigated at the beginning by Lessa feeling shame over how she misjudged Gemma, and then made worse by whatever the fuck is going on with that Kylara character. She's never on screen but everyone hates her because she's promiscuous or something? Dunno what's up with that. So like, yeah, gender stuff's weird, but also Pern's entire politics and economy rotate around telepathic dragons and evil spores, so, you know, it's a wacky fantasy. Whatever.

So many people, on telling them I found some battered Pern books in a Little Free Library, warned me that there's Bad Sex in these books, watch out! Well, I've read exactly one (1) Pern book, and I loved whatever the hell was happening. The dragons get horny so now their telepathic humans are horny? So now the two main characters who can't stand each other are fucking because telepathy? UH YES SIGN ME THE FUCK UP. I am so fucking here for this batshit scenario. It's not hatesex but it borders it. It's sex pollen by way of adorable dragons who fuck. I'm eating it up with a spoon. Now, sure, F'lar is like 'wtf I think I raped her' but in Lessa's pov she pretty much never dwells on it, so I think McCaffrey's actual intent was to give you the impression that F'lar is overreacting a bit because he has Feelings he won't admit, and while he's a smug jerk but he's not that bad, he's worried. You could if you want read this as textual rape? But I don't. I view this as Lessa being a practical and unlikeable bitch(affectionate) of a character, for whom sex is just not high on her priority list. She certainly wants to bang him later on. And because it wasn't a standard romance and the focus wasn't really on their courtship but rather the silly time travel plot, I actually enjoyed Lessa and F'lar as a couple. If I knew them IRL, I'd probably want to smack them, they're horribly emotionally stunted. But I got really invested in their slow reluctant growing respect for each other. Honestly so far Pern has the energy of a child making up a giant war for their toys, and incidentally smacking whatever figures they're using for their protagonists together and going, 'haha, they're kissing!'. Also, dragons. 9/10 can't wait to read more.

Nightmares

Heyo so this is a Feliciazura fic that I wrote, cuz I recently was introduced to this ship and I love it. I don't care that they don't have supports!! I love them!!! Shoutout to @arod7293 cuz without them I would never have gotten into this ship. Thanks for doing what ya do! Anyways here's a short fic for my cotton candy Fates girls. :)

Felicia ran down the hall at top speed. Normally at this time of night she would try to be quiet, as to not wake up Lady Corrin, or anyone for that matter. But this was different, she knew she'd heard a scream, and she needed to go defend whoever was being attacked.

She heard it again, that chilling sound of distress. She followed the voice down the long corridors of the castle, trying to figure out where it was coming from. Left. Right. Straight. Left. Left. Straight. Left. Right.

Why was the castle so big? It only housed one army of two nations. Ten of the members being royalty who needed proper accommodations, plus all the wyverns, horses, pegasi, and kinchi, that came with the army. Also Lilith, who was not a human, something that has been quite a shock to Felicia. Ok so maybe they did need a castle, but did it have to be so damn big!?

Finally she came to a door, on the other side of it she could hear a young woman's voice.

"No! Stop it.... I.... No!! Moth...no.. don't hurt me!"

It sounded bad. Without really making any kind of plan, Felicia burst in through the door, not really bothering to be quiet. But where she'd expected to find a battle scene, or an overturned table, or SOMETHING, she found only a bed. With someone sleeping on it. She scanned the room left to right, floor to ceiling, anywhere for a struggle. But the wasn't anything.

"NO! Stop it!!!"

It was coming from the bed. Felicia walked over, knife ready for someone to jump out of the blankets at her. Cautiously making her way over, she lifted the blankets.

"EEEEEEEK!!!"

"AAAAAAAAH!"

"Felicia!?"

"Uh..."

"What are you doing in my room, at one in the morning, with a KNIFE!?"

Whoops. She really hadn't thought this through.

"I am SO sorry Lady Azura! I heard screaming and then I ran here, and then there wasn't anybody, and the bed, and blankets, and you, and sleeping, and... and... Yeah."

"What?"

Shit. Felicia hadn't realized she was in Princess Azura's room. Her brain always slowed to a stop every time she tried to talk cohesively to Lady Azura. Every. Damned. Time.

And it's not like she didn't try. She did! But she always found herself getting distracted, with Azura's eyes, or her sky blue hair, or memories of her singing voice, or... or... What was she thinking about?

Dammit.

She tried talking again, taking a deep breath in, then out.

"I'm sorry Lady Azura, I didn't mean to intrude, much less with a knife. I just heard screaming from this room, and I feared..."

I found it easier with her, if you know what I mean... Since she died I've been dealing with a lot more nightmares."

What. Why did she say that!? She'd said it completely on instinct, without even thinking!

"I. AM. SO. SORRY. I didn't mean to say that, it was so improper, I wasn't thinking! I just kinda said that, I didn't mean to imply that you need- or that you'd want- it that you should- I mean you're a- Oh my- I'M SO SORRY-"

What? Had she heard right? She scanned Azura's face for a lie of any kind, but there wasn't any. The princess's face was blank, betraying no emotion, except for the deep scarlet that was creeping up her cheeks.

"I mean, since you offered. If you don't want to, that's fine. But I'd truly enjoy having someone near me when I sleep."

"O-Of course, Azura. I-I MEAN LADY A-"

"Just Azura is fine."

Also, EVERYONE’S Deck Masters are on the field right now and BOTH sides have had their Deck Monsters fused and the fusion sent to the Graveyard and I’m only a junior Professor of Yu-Gi-Oh! studies specialising in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Anime Bullshit, but I personally contend that I Can Believe It’s Not Honda should have lost the duel when Tiamat was defeated BUT apparently he didn’t AND here we are SO Yami hides both his and Jou’s Deck Masters under the Magical Hats HOWEVER this dickweed gets four attacks from his new dragon AND OF COURSE...

21. What aspect ofyour writing are you most proud of?

I don’t know if I can really say I’m proud of anything? I guess I’m a little more pleased with mydialogue than, uh, just about any other aspect of my writing, but it’s not thesame thing as being proud of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

22. Tell us about thebooks on your “to write” list

Please excuse me while I stare at my list in despair. (I haveover 20 things on this list, and most of them are stand-alones. This may take awhile.)

SO in a vague sort of order that will make sense to nobodybut me, we have:

1. Shimmer. The POV character is thedragon (who the book is named after), but the story is mostly about Monique and Dehiya, who are a pair of badass lesbians.There’s a lot of fairy tale elements that seemlike they’re going to play out the normal way, but I like to have fun withtropes. >]

2. The Four Winds. This one is still in the way earlyplanning stages. It’s got a lesbian elf princess and a probably-bisexual humanmage, and a couple of gay dwarves. If I told you I knew what I was doing withit I’d be lying. I do love the worldbuilding though.

3. Iris. (I think I was in the process of changingthe title…as soon as I figured out what to do with it.) BASICALLY I’m going tokidnap the non-FMA-based parts of the world I built for Dragon Scars and dig upsome sort of plot from somewhere. And then we can all have the shape-shiftingdragon soulmate novel of our hearts.

4. A Murder of Crows. It’s basically a dystopia setin a fantasy world? Um. Magic users subjugated the non-magic users, and the POVcharacter (Isaac) is part of the family that basically controls the world. He’sALSO part of a special task force type thing that (among other things) stealschildren who are magically powerful to brainwash them etc etc. Isaac’s boyfriend(Ray), also part of the task force, leaves to go chasing after hissupposedly-dead brother and Isaac chases after him. And discovers that hisfamily is not as benign as he thought. (And so they set out to destroy societyteehee.)

5. The Barren Kingdoms. …idk guys it’s basically abig queer fairy tale. And it has my second-favorite dragon in it (who iscurrently named Rawiya). Anyway.There’s a bunch of kingdoms that have been cursed to slowly fall apart (orsomething), unless princes and princesses find their True Loves. Each individual prince/ss hastheir own curse put on them as well. The (current) POV character is Isidro, who’sbeen cursed to sleep forever while he dreams about saving his True Love,Zahrah. Who enchants herself into his dreamworld so she can save him instead. Half the novel is Isidro’sdream quest, and the other half takes place in the real world and issignificantly queerer. I just haven’t decided who the POV character is yet.

6. The Vinland Saga. MY ONLY SERIES. It’s…a post-Ragnarökin which Loki is the main protagonist Because Reasons. A bunch of the gods arenot dead any more, but they’ve subjugated humanity and blerblerbler Loki saveseveryone because fuck Odin.

7. The City of Experiments. Aww it’s my fantasydystopia based in the US instead of my own world. The government experimented onpeople to bring out their magical powers, very secret hush-hush stuff, then oneof them went FUCKING INSANE (basically it was Sephiroth) and the US was kind ofdestroyed? And the story takes up in the aftermath, where the main charactersare trying to go “home” and end up having to fight another crazy magic user who’sbeing controlled by her mad scientist adoptive dad.

8. In the Back of Her Notebook. Girl finds herself inGeneric Fantasy World and discovers that the stupid thing she doodled in theback of her writing notebook is the key to saving said world. Oh and I had oneof those little…one-liner hook things for it sort of! “Five strangers. One dream. A quest to save a world that was never meantto exist.”

9. The Summer Wind. Okay so in Athens, Georgia there’sThe Tree ThatOwns Itself. It is now a dryad. And a bunch of young adults doing a summerinternship thing there have to save it/the city. I think one of my favoriteprofs at the University of Georgia (where this was set) was going to be the basisfor the villain? Hm…

10. All Things Forgotten. Another dystopia, and thisone was going to be my foray into YA. With a background of WWIII and peopleliving in biodomes and something about children being switched between theupper-class dome and the lower-class dome (in the US) to experience the others’lives and. I don’t remember this one much, tbh.

11. Bahamut Moon. Two words: dinosaur aliens.Literally that’s the only reason this exists. I REGRET NOTHING. Also there’smagic because the planet is ~alive~ and something something whatever. Listen,there are dinosaur aliens who careswhat the plot is? (The basic plot, btw, is an ex-soldier/doctor discovering aconspiracy to keep a Very Important Dinosaur from a peace meeting he needs togo to, and she decides to help him get there. It’s set in a very tentative truceduring the war between the humans and the dino-aliens.)

12. The Carriers of Gods. Gods have sealed themselvesaway in people’s heads so they don’t almost destroy the world (again), but forsome reason one of the characters agrees to let his god out. Which is extra funbecause said god was the reason the world was almost destroyed to begin with. Ihave no recollection whatsoever of what I was doing with this.

13. Darned Socks. Sentient socks. Who control robots.Humans fought a war against them when the socks decided that, as sentients,they shouldn’t be forced to be worn on human feet all the time. The socks won.BUT NOW there are secret slavery rings that kidnap and sell socks, and the MC’sboyfriend? type thing has been sold to one of them. DUN DUN DUN. (Listen it’s a comedy.)

14. Veselsky: Of Monsters and Machines. Basically a seriesof short stories about an android going around killing things sent by a villainwho wants the creators for himself. Veselsky is the android’s name. :)

And I’m going to skip the rest of them because I don’t havethem built up enough to actually describe anything about them. Or, in the caseof This Is Not Your Soul and The Wandering Kingdom, they’re soold they need to be majorly overhauled before I’m willing to talk about them.And there are a few really long fanfics I have plans for, but unless somebodyspecifically asks about them I’ll leave this as is. :D

This is…really difficult to decide, tbh. The Sixth Heartand The Barren Kingdoms have the most complete worldbuilding so far, butI LOVE the magic system I built for A Murder of Crows. Oh man and thenthere’s Bahamut Moon, which I honestly feel I should choose as myfavorite just because of the dinosaur aliens. And then there’s the ones I stilllove primarily due to nostalgia…. And Shimmer has a map. Aaaaaaaaa.

I THINK I think I’m going to have to go with The SixthHeart. The magic system still needs some tweaking, but it’s also got a mapand I like the gods I’ve built for the main story.

accepting that im not going to sleep tonight after another night of thinking about things and bawling which is happening ALL TOO OFTEN RECENTLY all stemming from the fact that my mom told me today shes going to neb next week for spring break to see my grandparents and seeing if i wanted to go which i initially declined but i just had the thought that being in the car for such a long time with her.. maybe i could come out to her....

i haven't talked about this at all on here and have just been kinda hinting at stuff so here we go i guess. i wanna say late may of last year one night it all just kinda dawned on me everything fell into place that i was nonbinary and i really should of known sooner considering HOW OFTEN i thought about it but i would always just write myself off. and a major indicator in me figuring this out as nerdy it may be was my ocs. why was this oc being a transman sooo important to me? why was i so obsessed and in love w my afab nonbinary dragon age character (who even at the time completely agreed w myself that they were 100% supposed to be me). why did i put so much of myself into these afab characters? theres stuff hinting alll the way back to highschool of me just “what if i was a boyy?? teehee” but again that was a thought i entertained A LOT. 

at the time of all this i think i could only accept that i was nb and it was to it early for me to know if i was trans or not but im pretty sure i knew which was why i was taking it the way i was and it was just all to overwhelming for me to confront it. the fact that ive cried so much over this shit the past year cant mean its unjustified and i cant ignore it any longer and im trans. any instance of me saying something like“ idk my gender :P” is just a big ol cover up

its uncertain if i wanna try this on the way there or the way home. unloading all this onto my mom before seeing her parents who are having a rough time lately might be a little overwhelming but i also at the same time want her to stew in this for a week before we get home and maybe talk about it throughout the week. knowing my mom for 24 yrs i know shes the type of person to hear me out and shes going to love me no matter what, its just going to be hell explaining to her what it all means and theres that doubt in the back of my mind that she might think im confused but also if im bawling WHICH I KNOW IM GOING TO BE then i think she’ll take me seriously. 

and i am NOT ready for my dad to know and i dont know if ill ever be and i HAVE to make sure this gets across to my mom. i dont entirely know my dads stances on gay stuff i think his lack of willingness to talk or even acknowledge it kind of speaks for itself. ive been a bit of a daddys girl and im afraid of it stopping and him treating me different. ive mentioned it before but i avoid my dad so much despite living the same house bc seeing him reminds me how much of a disappointment i am w how little little effort i put into finding a job. my lifes a fucking mess right now and this just adds to it all.

i have no idea how my sisters would react i really dont. theres 3 of us one of us had to be gay right? and i was lucky enough to get the unisex name aayyy

really right now i just want my mom to know i mean she could probably tell my grandparents when were there their pretty open minded like theyre not gonna tell anyone idc

soooo i just laid my whole life out like that and I never NEVER make posts like this. i always just rather no one know anything. theres no one im close to on here to talk about this stuff anyway it kinda makes sense. i like to think im painting myself in this mysterious light but really im just a messy bitch.
