Where did modern bureaucracy come from? Colonel Sylvanus Thayer, the Father of the Military Academy, or the ‘man who made West Point

I don’t believe for a second that the general population of Hell actually trusts Vox or thinks he has their best interests at heart. It’s Hell, everyone’s always trying to take advantage of one another, and Vox and the Vees aren’t exactly subtle with their cruelty. Imo, it’s probably more similar to the situation in real life: No one actually trusts Jeff Bezos or Tim Cook or whoever, but since they control all the technology we “need” in order to participate in modern society, we relinquish control of our data to them and try not to think about what they’re doing behind the scenes. Everyone knows Vox is evil because all Overlords are evil, but the average sinner has no choice but to buy in to his shit since it’s the only game in town.

i absolutely love what konya sukiyaki dayo says about communal living, child-rearing, and the many forms both can take. it's great when aro media takes a step into navigating the way de-centering monogamous romance and leaning on community can benefit all members of the group, not just aromantics. and, really, living right next door to your best friend so you can see each other all the time but have your own place, isn't that kind of the dream?

Odd idea that came to mind, but for 'non-binary' (as a general term) people in the United Commonwealth, I wonder if an alternative to 'Mr.' and 'Ms.' might just be 'M.', and correspondingly be actually said as 'em' so-and-so

Techno fans who mock Dream still now after everything are the weakest link. To think you’re such an unfunny and mean spirited person not even the wishes of a dead man passed on by his own father to be kinder to his friends are enough for you to grow the fuck up

Worlds Resemble Other Worlds | 2334
Worlds resemble other worlds and we adopt world(view)s when we recognise them. Some worlds we have agency in, others we don’t.  https://www.thejaymo.net/2023/10/20/301-2334-worlds-resemble-other-worlds/
