had an identity crisis, prime time for a slight sona redesign!

it's cow! (again!)

+ a closeup because i'm really proud of the eyes

#i felt really extremely disconnected from cow and was like welp. time to make new fursonas #and made like four drafts before drawing cow with short hair and going 'oh.'#i ...... just need a hair cut. so i gave my fursona a haircut while i'm waiting to go #fucking. SADGE that im redesigning it so soon after its last ref but #shrugs #i do not control the heightened emotions about fursona and what it means to me #also there's a lot of experiments in this piece!! new brushes new coloring techniques new style of ref #loooots and lots of alts over on my ponytreon #my art #furry #fursona #anthro #oc #cow #cattle #oc: cow #bovine #ref #ref sheet #reference #i tried like...7 other palettes before just taking the old one and tweaking it and now i rllllllllly like it :03 #i just needed less pastels/contrast and more soft/desaturated tones...who woulda thunk #(it's everyone. everyone wouldve thunk. i <3 desaturated tan tones)

answer: chalk pastels!! normal kiddie chalk comes out super pastel and light, which is fine if you're looking for that color, but soft pastels are so much more vibrant and create a lot of pop!

also keeping in mind to spread out the chalk by furiously scrubbing the concrete with your fingers (OR LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE) to blend and save on the chalk stick 👍

#i recommend looking at street painting videos for the exact blending techniques :] tbh i dont use a lot of them because its too hot but-#-theyre very cool to look at!!#and thank you sm for the ask <3333 im meltingg srsly this made me get up and doodle some guys on the sidewalk :D #i used the kiddie chalk for the base layer and went on top with soft pastels since the pastel sticks are very tiny #kirby series #veves ultra cool art #kirby #kine the fish #marx kirby #chalk art #being so fr i dont know what im doing with chalk. i treat it like digital art and i know thats not how youre supposed to use it lmao #ask

#birds #chickens #art #sculpture #sculpey #miniature art #polymer clay #clay #crafts #he is a little ugly but that's ok he's smaller than a penny #i want to make a few chicks but i want to try different techniques with them #this one was built like annette. one shape at a time and blended together #but i painted this one fully since i don't have yellow clay or chalk pastels to powder into it for tint #he only took me i think two and a half hours front to back including the half hour bake time. maybe less #An Improvement!#my yellow paint is like 15 years old though and kinda clumpy #need to buy. new paint i think #or try the Chalk Method #also i do not usually thank people for notes but i am very happy annette was enjoyed by so many people #so thank you everyone who enjoyed and shared my tiny chicken i appreciate that a lot #all my chickens are named after. singers from the early 20th century btw. i did that in SDV and now its just my Pattern

#jotun loki #this is again movies loki ofc ofc #13 year old avo wouldve shitted bricks looking at this #yk who i was drawing at 13? guess guess #if you guessed loki youre correct #maybe not 13. i think.... whatever #point is i drew this one beautiful portrait with oil pastel #except i didnt have any technique or anything so for blending i rubbed my fingers so raw they would bleed #i ended up using all my fingers on both hands #i was so proud i took it to school to show everyone. and then the teacher accidentally spilled candle wax on it #it still looks beautiful with the candle wax. i still have it #and yeah i still have finger prints. my fingers are fine #loki laufeyson #hahahahahaha my parents thought i was insane because all my fingers had smooth skin and they bled #for the love of art am i right
