Dispelling trivial misconception in MLB!!
In the episode Ikari Gozen, Kagami's mother - Tsurugi Tomoe - claims that their family line descended from Tomoe Gozen: a rare female warrior who reportedly fought in the Genpei War. She then describes Tomoe Gozen "mounted on a horse with her naginata" WHICH IS HIGHLY DEBATABLE
Tumblr media
In the screenshot you can see a traditional-esque frame of Tomoe Gozen using bow and arrows on horseback. The original text of Heike Monogatari (which covers the Genpei War) describes Tomoe Gozen as an expert archer and swordswoman. And this makes sense because they primarily fought on horseback, meaning those weapons would be both accessible and practical. NOT A NAGINATA.
Naginata are heavy and long spears with a curved blade at the end, making them difficult to maneuver on horseback. Warriors did not usually pick naginata as their weapon of choice. Often time they are left at home in case enemies come.
This is why naginata are usually associated with women. Wives and daughters of samurai were trained to defend their family residences and they usually wielded naginata as it was associated with the residence/base/fortress, not the battlefield.
The depiction of Tomoe Gozen wielding a naginata usually appears in illustrations and visual art (usually painted much later), where the weapon is meant to accentuate her femininity. But in the story where she first appears, no such detail is mentioned, she uses "masculine" weapons like every other warrior.
Tumblr media
This is a widespread misconception even to Japanese because images travel faster than words. Certainly it's not a serious fault of the MLB team who researched to the best of their ability. Life probably stays the same whether they wrote naginata or arrow. But in case you're wondering, that's that

“It is time,” were the first words uttered that would mark the beginning of a mission that would change their lives forever. Long gone were their lives on their home planet, Olympia. Now, their only priority was their mission on the planet Earth.
Twelve individuals stood from their seats and made their way to their positions that marked their roles in humanity’s growth. Six on one side, and six on the other.
Six Eternals would serve as “fighters,” protecting humanity from the hideous creatures that threatened their feeble existence known as “Deviants.”
The other six would take on their roles as “thinkers,” guiding humanity to evolve in their intelligence so that they would be able to create wonders without assistance.
But regardless, “thinker” or “fighter,” each Eternal was blessed with abilities that would play an integral role for their mission. Each Eternal stood in their place, golden streams of celestial energy encompassed their bodies as they could now wear the armor that marked their Olympian origins and culture.
With their bodies equipped, and minds ready, each Eternal made their way to gaze out from the many windows that their starship, the Domo, was built with in preparation for their travel.
As each Eternal introduced themselves to one another, hoping to gain common ground with the team to settle rattled nerves, only two individuals had no need for introduction.
As one Eternal gazed out the Domo - bereft at the sight of the planet where her new life would begin – she wondered if Earth would ever be home the way Olympia had been to her despite her having no true memory of it. She wondered if her abilities would prove useful, and she was worried that she would be incapable of making any friends. Luckily, that fear would be one that would pass very, very soon.
“Sephia!”
Her name was all she heard before arms encased by iridescently dark blue with pearly ivory entwining into celestial bodies that wrapped around her nimble but powerful form. A wide smile grew as she registered the familiarity of the voice.
It was Kaetlyn, her very best friend.
Instant relief filled her body as she shifted her body to return the hug. Sephia’s joy knew no bounds as she realized that she would at least be in the company of one of the greatest warriors Olympia had ever produced. But even without her arrows, Kaetlyn was the best person Sephia could think of for as long as she remembered. The fact that she left her home and was aboard with too many strangers no longer mattered to her. So long as her beloved Kaet was by her side, Sephia would get through anything that came her way. It was if their bond was testified and bound by the stars themselves.
“Aren’t you so excited? Look at it! It’s so beautiful! I wonder what sites we’ll see!”
As Kaetlyn’s curiosity grew, so did her excitement. Her voice could hardly contain the sheer ecstaticity that was flowing throughout her entire body. The next words that escape her would mark the shadow archer’s true intentions.
“Think of all the adventures we’ll have,” she whispered out so that only Sephia would be able to hear her, “The stories we’ll be able to tell!”
If Kaetlyn was known for anything besides her skills in combat, it was her insatiable curiosity. For as long as Sephia had known her, Kaetlyn was never ever satisfied with only knowing whatever she currently knew. She always wanted to know MORE. Sephia smiled at a memory of Kaet once explaining to her that it was her solemn oath that she would never EVER be satisfied with only what anyone gave her, and that she’d always find her way to learn more. That oath felt like it was from a lifetime ago.
These words were from another lifetime, in more ways than one. But that will come to light at another time.
But despite Kaetlyn’s contagious excitement, dread began to course through Sephia’s veins. As her nerves began to eat at her, Sephia couldn’t help but pick at her fingers. A horrible habit that would always result in inflamed tissue, bleeding, and ugly scars.
“I’m scared,” she timidly replied, eyes turned away so that she wouldn’t let her friend see her cowardice. “What if the life forms on this planet are horrible? What if they are beyond help?” As Sephia continued to list her concerns, Kaetlyn understood that it wasn’t the fear of others that terrified Sephia, it was the idea that she would be of no use to Arishem’s grand design.
“It will be alright Seph,” Kaet declared in a tone that filled herself with confidence and Sephia with reassurance, “After all, as long as we’re together, nothing will be too terrible.”
“…I suppose that’s true,” Sephia let herself agree to her most trusted companion’s advice, but her heart was still heavy with anxiety.
Very softly, she dared ask the most stupid question that ever left her mouth.
“Will we always be together?”
Kaetlyn looked at her most cherished friend with so much warmth in her eyes that it was as if all the most beautiful things in the universe were born into the very person in front of her.
“Sephie,” she began with love in her voice and stars in her eyes as she leaned forward to press their foreheads together, “As if you even need to ask.”
Unbeknownst to either of the girls, two men from opposite sides of the room gazed at the loving embrace with curious eyes.
One came from Ikaris, a fighter gifted with the ability to fly and emit optic beams of celestial energy, as well as a commanding figure and attitude. His watch was fixed on the beautiful Eternal, with flowing blush fabric draped across her lovely figure as strategically placed brass armor hinted at the curves of her physique. He could not stop staring at her, despite the impossibly lovely Sersi that stood beside him at that very moment.
The other came from Druig, a thinker who was known across Olympia for his telepathic abilities, along with his quick wit and surly demeanor. But all somber thoughts came to a halt at the sight of the slim figure, who after donning her armor, disappeared into the shadows of the room. Only to reappear to embrace her friend with so much delight, it surprised him.
Two very different individuals, but both somehow staring at the sight before them for so long, that it would set in motion the events that would be all four individuals’ joy, as well as their end.

there can't be enough thenamesh reunion fics!
may i ask for more?
Gilgamesh yanked the Warrior back by the shoulder. She tried to regain her balance but he slammed his fist against her head, creating a gust strong enough to rattle the ship windows. She went down softly.
"Oi!" The Mind Reader was quick to respond to his fallen comrade. They all had a sense of togetherness that Gilgamesh admitted he found absent within his own team (himself, the Soaring Eternal and their Prime).
Ikaris took advantage of the team's sense of protectiveness. He grasped the Speedster's armour collar with his hand, using her as a shield against the puppeteer. He fired his eyes into the dark haired one's armour, sending him through the wall. Then, the Speedster was nothing but a burden.
Gilgamesh winced as she was thrown headfirst to the ground. Ikaris wasn't stronger than him - he knew that for a fact - but he certainly acted more brutally.
"Come on," he muttered in his accent, dragging the body of the Speedster behind him as he floated over to retrieve the Mind Reader as well.
Gilgamesh stared down at the Warrior Eternal. Her body was also limp, but he could feel the Cosmic Energy thrumming within her veins. He could practically feel the rhythm of her heart, if he let himself imagine it. He didn't know what made them so different, according to Arishem.
"You want a hand with 'er or what?" Ikaris snarled at him, piling both of his catches under his arms to bring back to Ajak at the helm of the ship. He was probably just going to sling her over his shoulder, or worse, drag her.
"Go ahead," Gilgamesh grumbled, kneeling down to her. She was his defeat, and his responsibility. Ikaris floated ahead, even banging the Mind Reader's head against the door frame in his lack of care.
Her face looked so peaceful.
Gilgamesh caught himself trying to move her hair away from her face before sighing. He slipped one hand under her arm and shoulders, and the other under her knees. She folded into his grasp so easily he wasn't sure if she weighed anything at all.
"Gil."
He stared down at her, ready for another fight if she was waking again. But as he drew his arms in, all she did was relax against him--him, the enemy. He couldn't imagine why.
But her head rolled to the side, and her tiara even met the cold, hard shell of his chest plate. And yet she had a little smile on her face, as if there were no place she would rather be. He adjusted her a little before making the trip to the head of the ship as well. He did have the courtesy not to smack her head against the door, at least.
She kept calling him Gil.
No one called him that. He didn't even think of himself like that. His name was Gilgamesh, and he was the Strongest Eternal, sent by Arishem to retrieve rogue Eternals who had been tainted by the Deviants of Earth. He had never met this woman before.
But his heart ached in his chest as he carried her.
He felt conflicted fighting her. He had felt awful knocking her out. And he had felt so protective at the thought of Ikaris laying a single hand on her.
"There he is."
Gilgamesh walked in with the Warrior Eternal in his arms. He held her gently, just briefly looking at the other two piled on the floor like litter.
"Well done," Ajak said, observing the difference in technique between him and Ikaris. She waved her glowing hands.
Gilgamesh stepped back slightly as the woman in his arms floated up out of his embrace and upright. The lines of her energy signature formed around her, creating a golden cage in a sense around her.
"These will hold them until we arrive at the World Forge," Ajak clarified as the three bodies floated to their places around the statue of Arishem.
Ikaris joined Ajak again at the front window, discussing their strategy. Those two seemed close but also at odds, in a weird way. Gilgamesh turned away from them, back to the blonde.
She was beautiful.
He wasn't a traitor just for thinking so. He walked closer, looking up at her floating just off the ground. The signature of her Cosmic Energy was weaker, but he could swear he still felt it calling out to him. It was like they were cut from the same cloth.
He reached up, tucking some hair behind her ear and out of his way. It felt familiar, in a terrifying way. Her eyes didn't even flutter. Not that he wanted her to wake up.
Gilgamesh looked back at his teammates, but they were whispering among themselves. They weren't any more concerned with him than he was about them. And that was just fine. They were a team, not some cobbled together family unit.
He looked up at her again. Thena. That name had been pulsing in his head since he saw her. He wasn't sure how; she was the Warrior Eternal, deadly and traitorous. That was all he knew about her. Except her name. And that she had a sweet sounding laugh. It echoed through memories he didn't have.
He hadn't even realised he was reaching up until his fingertips met her cheek. He didn't know what he was doing. He had no explanation for it to himself, much less to his team, let alone the woman herself. Her skin was soft.
It seemed impossible, but he could have sworn to all the stars in the sky that she leaned into his touch, however much she could. He didn't press his palm to her skin. That felt...wrong--like he had no right. Just looking at her felt like a betrayal of some kind. "Thena."
The Warrior's sandy coloured eyelashes fluttered. Maybe she was stronger than Ajak had assumed. She couldn't open her eyes, but he knew they were green (somehow). "Gil."
That name again. It made his whole body burn, like his chest was on fire. He stood back from the Warrior calling for him--someone. He didn't know who she was calling out to, but it wasn't really him.
"Gilgamesh."
He turned towards his Prime, and his fellow Eternal at the window. It seemed so cold over there. He nodded, walking over silently. Only when he was further away did he realise he had been holding the Warrior Eternal's hand.
"Are you prepared to hand them over?" Ajak asked.
He frowned, "why wouldn't I be?"
Ajak was silent, but Ikaris freely scoffed at him, "y'seem awfully soft on the traitor. There's no need for the gentleman routine with faulty scum."
Gilgamesh clenched his fists at his side, but he forced himself to remember his place. "I'm curious, but I'm not confused about the mission."
"Good," Ajak concluded, ending the conversation for both of them.
Ikaris let out one last laugh at him before floating off again. Did he have to fly everywhere just for the sake of it? He could walk just fine.
Gilgamesh tried not to seem like he was watching keenly as Ikaris walked by the prisoners again. Ikaris also looked up at the Warrior Eternal, and Gilgamesh tried not to yell at his teammate to keep his distance from her.
But Ikaris kept moving, and Gilgamesh wasn't eager to admit that his chest loosened. His eyes left the figure of Thena floating limply. He blinked, finding Ajak staring at him. "What?"
She looked back at the Warrior Eternal and then back to him. "You know her."
He shook his head. "We were briefed on all of them. She was a better fighter than I could have imagined. I think that deserves some respect."
Yes, he had respect for his fellow Fighter. She seemed very much his equal, all agility where he was sturdiness. He wanted her to be treated with respect and honour, just like any good warrior.
He wanted her to be handled so delicately a flower would weep with envy.
"I agree," Ajak sufficed to say. She gave him one last look before leaning closer, "keep your mission in mind, Gilgamesh. Whatever the traitors try to whisper in your ear...remember their deception."
"I will," he assured his team leader before she too departed. He stayed at the window, looking into the vast nothingness where eventually the World Forge would come into view. He looked over his shoulder.
It wouldn't be long until he could ask her why she called him Gil.

Android Unit
The Android Unit is a division of the Regular Army created and founded by Dervin Howard Aran.
Summary
Inspired by numerous media focusing on A.I. and Humanity, Derek created Project CORE: a project to create four (adopt a fifth and sixth) humanoid robots with highly advanced AI. He wants to see how Androids view the world around them. The A.I has the ability to evolve, form their own options, and most of all, have emotions. They can laugh, mourn, and love. Most of all, to form relationships, to form personalities, and to form tastes. That way, the android's can experience what humans experience in their daily lives. Thanks to this advancement, Derek implemented a heart in their chest. The CORE holds their emotions and personality. Meanwhile, the motherboard serves as the android's thoughts and senses.
The android's are equipped with powerful weapons that allow them to blaze through the battlefield without much trouble. Their skills in combat allow them to adapt and adjust their battle tactics more clearly. They greatly improve the Regular Army's firepower, no thanks to their programming and combat capabilities. Thanks to the Android unit, the Regular Army has been successful in pushing back the Rebels and any other hostile organization.
Few members of the PF Squad and Regular Army are shown to assist the androids with their technology. Derek personality hand selected these members because of their skills in engineering and software technology: Marco Rossi and Trevor Spacey handles the Androids software upgrade; Alisa Stewart is the androids Main Mechanic should they lose a limb; and Derek handles the Androids physical upgrades and leads them via navigation. The members perform these separate tasks in order to lighten Derek's workload. It also allows the selected members to perform emergency tasks should the androids fall in battle.
The Androids are mainly sent alongside the PF Squad and S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S members when a four man team isn't enough. However, they also receive classified missions that require the six of them. This is mainly due to the android's advanced capabilities: allowing them to face foes that are deemed a threat and to prevent the Regular Army from losing their best soldiers.

I’ve seen a lot of Evangelion/Spiderman AUs lately but as someone who is not a Spiderman fan let me raise you my own ideas for AsuShin superhero AUs.
Dynamic Heroes AU
Shinji at the urging of his friend Kaworu fuses with the spirit of demon (who is really the damned soul of Yui Ikari) and becomes Devilman in order to fight against the forces of evil, but in his new superhero identity he encounters Cutie Honey real name Asuka Langley Shikinami , an android magical girl created by Dr. Kyoko Zepplin Soryu in the image of her dead daughter. The two of them end up teaming up on occasion to fight bad guys and develop a rivalry based upon the occult vs technology.
Power Rangers AU
Teenagers Rei Ayanami, Asuka Langley Soryu and Shinji Ikari are chosen by space warriors Misato Katsuragi to join the ‘Order of NERV” to fight against the evil angels who plan to take over the earth. The competitive and sporty Asuka and the shy artsy Shinji at first don’t get along and are always arguing but Misato can sense that inside they could become a very powerful duo so she keeps putting them in positions where they are forced to work together and get closer.
Boogiepop AU
When the world is threatened depressed teenager Shinji Ikari becomes Boogiepop the shinigami who kills the enemies of the world with superhuman abilities. His rival/parter/love interest is Asuka Langley Soryu a vigilante who uses her amazing command of science and martial arts to fight villains. However Shinji outside of his Boogiepop persona only knows Asuka as the school’s problem student and does his best to avoid her to avoid getting into trouble.

When no one listens
Request: Maybe something thenamesh?? I don't know something cute and fluffy and the other eternals are so done with them - by anon, thank you so so much 🖤
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Thena/Gilgamesh
Words: 792
Tumblr media
It is not an everyday thing to find Gilgamesh and Thena so close resting against each other. So, it is hard to pay attention to Ajak’s instructions as two very tired warriors snuggle in the back.
“Stop.” Thena threatens Kingo from afar with her stare.
“I should say the same thing,” he replies back, body fully turning towards them. “What is this that’s going on?”
She looks away and back to Ajak, ignoring him.
At some point during Ajak’s speech Thena rests her head against Gil’s shoulder earning the attention of Druig and Phastos, who just stare at each other like they are in the office.
“You see it too, right?” Asked Kingo.
“Uh,” Phastos takes a moment to think, but is cut off by Ajak.
“Are you guys even listening?” She speaks directly to everyone in the left corner which consist of Kingo, Phastos, and Druig. “What was I talking about?” She asks at their silence.
Kingo and Druig look at each other waiting for the other to talk as Phastos stutters to form an answer to no veil.
“You are talking about the re-distribution of the teams to travel overseas in the search of deviants.” Thena replies from her place attached to Gil’s rib.
Makkari frowns at her with a discerting look, and Sersi just looks marveled.
“Thank you, Thena; but I was talking to the corner on the left.” She gives them a stern look.
It is enough to make them stop, but it has now gained the attention of Sprite. She uses an illusion of herself sitting at the front listening to Ajak, while she walks invisible in the direction of Gilgamesh and Thena. She takes note of how they are holding hands, and how Gil’s thumb is brushing against Thena’s. Just when she is about to prank Gil tickling him with an invisible feather she hears Ajak calling out her name.
“Sprite, I hope you are not using an illusion again to escape. This is a very important matter.” Ajak talks like a mother with a warning tone.
Sprite hurries back to her place. “Sorry, Ajak.” She knows Ajak can detect her better than anyone, a special ability of the prime eternal.
At some point Gil starts to snooze nodding his head not fully asleep, and Thena wraps her arms around him to support him against her own shoulder like a mother would hold a child close. This has now caused distress between the eternals, even Ikaris is looking at them every now and then. Even Ajak blinked a few times in their direction, like trying to see if she was seeing right or it was one of Sprite’s illusions to stop her speech.
Kingo is fully turned towards them, ignoring Ajak right in front of her salad. The salad being a very cozy Gilgamesh and Thena. Phastos’ jaw has almost dropped to the floor, he keeps looking back and forth between Ajak and them. Druig is seeking comfort with Makkari, trying to ignore the scene, but it doesn’t help when the speedster is also occasionally looking at them and trying to gossip with Phastos and Kingo from afar. Sprite joined the corner on the left trying to get a more discreet glimpse of the two strong eternals in the other corner. At this point Sersi is just completely distracted by Ikaris standing next to her at the right side of the hall.
“I’m going to do it.” Mumbles Druig.
“I-” Phastos stutters. “It would be better if-” He struggles to find the right words. “You know what? Do as you please.”
“Don’t mind control them in front of Ajak.” Sprite intervenes.
“Gil?” They all hear Thena’s whispers. “My feet are cold.”
Gil soon takes her feet into his hands and between them to warm them up.
“Okay!” Kingo declares loudly as everyone else starts to complain, disrupting Ajak’s speech. They all get up shaking their head as Ajak looks at them confused.
“And where do you all think you are going?” She asks as they start to leave.
“We don’t even get cold.” Complains Phastos on their way out.
“Nice talk, Ajak. I might throw up.” Druig says.
“This has been the weirdest experience ever.” Sprite says. “I hope it never repeats.”
“What is going on?” Sersi asks as she follows them out.
Ajak shakes her head as she takes a deep breath trying to keep her cool. Her eyes fall on two very exhausted eternals on the right corner that stare right back at her not even one bit of guilt in their faces.
“So, are we dismissed?” Asks Gil.
“Just go.” Ajak says so done for the day.
But she can’t help but smile as she sees them walk out together; hand in hand.

9:05 p.m. at the Yabuki's Residence...............
'Door Open'
Shingo: And here we are: our new home!
Leona: (Looks Around the Inside of the Apartment as Shingo Politely Let Her Walk in) It looks nice and cozy.
Shingo: (Smiles Brightly as He Closes the Door Behind Him) Thanks. It's not as too familiar as our old home, but I'm still liking it so far.
Leona: Do you ever missed being in Japan?
Shingo: Sometimes. I miss seeing mom, Saisyuu Sensei, and Mrs. Kusanagi-san a lot, but at the same time, I'm.....kinda starting feel more home here in Southtown as of late. Mostly cause I have Rock, K', Kula, Ms. Mary, Chizuru-Senpai, Athena, Hinako, Malin, and....(Smiles Softly at Leona) you here with me.
Leona: (Heart Begins to Melt in Genuine Happiness) We're happy to have you here with us too, Shingo-Kun. (Gives Shingo a Loving Hug)
Shingo: (Heart Starts to Flutter as He Happily Hugs Leona Back For a Couple of Seconds Before Letting Go and Clappibg his Hands Together) Okay! What kind of movie you wanna watch first?
Leona: (Eyes Widened a Bit) You want me to pick first? Are you sure?
Shingo: (Happily Nodded) Yeah, you're my house guest. (Holds his Finger in a Proper Manner) Tsubaki says that I should always treat anyone I welcomed I'm this house with politeness and respect. Especially if it's that guest in particular, is a pretty gir- (Immediately Blushes Once He Realizes What He's Saying) FRIEND! Friend! I-I mean, pretty friend- J-JUST FRIEND! Not to say that you're not pretty or anything, you are very, very pretty- B-B-But that's besides the point!!
Leona: (Starts to Blush as Well Before Bringing her Ponytail in Front of Her Face to Hide In) T-Thanks. You're too kind.....(Finally Let's Go of her Ponytail) B-But if you insist, I was thinking we could watch that Powerpuff Girks Movie together.
Shingo: Oh really? I didn't know you like the series.
Leona: I didn't at first. But Kula convinced me to watch a marathon of it one time and I've became a fan ever since. Also, i advise you to stay clear from the reboot.
Shingo: ('Sigh') A bit too late on that one, Leona-san...Naomi and I watched an episode of it a year or two ago and hated it ever since.
Leona: Which episode did you two watched?
Shingo: The one with the panda.....(Shivers at the Painfully Memory)
Leona: You poor thing.
Shingo: Yeah....But anyways, you want anything to snack before we get this movie night started?
Leona: I'm still full from the restaurant we ate together earlier. But I wouldn't mind having a bottle of water.
Shingo: (Smiles Brightly) Bottle of water it is! (Makes his Way towards the Kitchen) In the meantime, make yourself feel at home and relax.
Leona: (Simply Nodded) Okay.
Leona walks over to the sofa in front of her and sits down. As she waits for Shingo to bring her beverage, she notices two picture frames standing on top of coffee table in front of her. One was a family portrait of him, his sisters and an older woman behind them, whom she assumes that their mother, and the other was a group picture of he taken with Kyo, Saisyuu, Chizuru, and the rest of members of Team Japan. There are many differences between two photos side by side, but the one similarity they both seem to have is that it shows off the fighting protégé's bright, optimistic smile, the same that brightens up everyone's day, even hers. They were so infectionate that it causes Leona to form one of her own, a fond one if you will.
It didn't take too long for the Ikari Warrior in question to decide to let her hair down. She was told to make herself feel at home, so it wouldn't kill her too much to unwind a little every once and a while, despite that being something she needs to work on, given it's a critique her peers gave her.
Shingo: (Walks Back into the Living Room With Two Bottles of Water in his Face) I'm back with the wa- (Eyes Begins to Widened at the Sight of Leona and Her Long Hair) -ter......
Leona: (Smiles Softly) Welcome back. (Notices Shingo is Staring at her) Is...everything okay?
Shingo: ............
Leona: Shingo-Kun?.......Shingo!
Shingo: (Immediately Comes Back to Reality) Oh! Yeah, uh.....Sorry about that. I just....Never expected to see you with your hair down up until now. You look so pretty- GREAT! Great. You look pretty great I mean! Again, not to say you're not pretty or anything, which you are, by the way, very much so- I....(Sighs in Defeat as He Hands Leona her Drink) Here's your water......
Leona: (Receives her Bottle of Water While Looking Away, Blushing) T-Thank you. For the water....and the compliment....(Slowly Turns Back to Shingo) Are you ready to watch our first movie together?
Shingo: (Quickly Nodded) Yeah, totally.
Shingo makes his way to the sofa and sits down next to Leona before turning on the TV with regular sized remote and then turning on the FireStick with the mini remote control next. As he searches through the movie he's looking for, a million thoughts begins to run circles in his head, all of which involves having feelings for a certain military combatant right next to o him.
On one hand he wonders a scenario would be like if him and Leona would ever start dating, how affectionate either of them would become as time passes, which to him, at least, would be nice. They've gotten along so well since they've first met, so having them.be a couple wouldn't be too much of a hassle (hopefully). But all good, wishful thinking must come to a stretching halt Shingo now starts to think about the worst case scenario: where Leona would decline his offer and starts seeing him as a distraction, a nuisance even. Which to him is....kind of understandable. He does have the tendency to annoy people on some occasions, even to his closest peers. So it wouldn't be too surprising if she starts getting sick of him someday, which he really hopes that never comes to tuition, but only time can only tell on that one.
But in the end, the option Shingo ultimately choose is the middle ground: confess his ongoing feelings to her now and embrace any form outcome heading his viewpoint, good or bad. This the new year, a new beginning for everyone, and he refuse to let something as trivia as mushy feelings get in the way of resolution: to become a stronger, more confident person everyone and himself can rely on.
Sp as he finds the words Powerpuff Girls Movie on the screen, he puts the mini remote back down on the table, takes a deep breaths, and mentally gives himself a word of encouragement before-
Leona: Shingo-Kun?
Shingo: (Comes Back to Reality and Turning to Leona) Hm?
Leona: There's......(Starts Rubbing her Arm Nervously) Something I've been meaning to tell you all day....(Turns her Head to Shingo) If you don't mind hearing me out.
Shingo: N-Not at all! (Starts Rubbing The Back of his Head Back and Forth) I wanted to tell you something too, but you can go first....
Leona: If you insist. (Takes a Very Deep Breath) Okay. It's been a long time coming, but....I....I-I......(Starts Closing her Eyes While Blurting Out....) I-I think I have a romantic feelings for you! A really, REALLY huge one!!
Shingo: Oh, that's great- (Eyes Finally Starts to Widened) Wait, WHAAAAAAAAT!? B-B-But when!? How!?
Leona: The night of December, when I....kissed you under the Mistletoe (Without Consennnnnt!.....) I didn't want to think much of it at the time, but overtime, I started to look back on our bond and all the times we've spent together. And granted, I'm well aware that romance takes a lot of effort and communication....(Closes her Eyes Again) But I still wanna give it chance! I wanna give YOU a chance because YOU Shingo Yabuki worth so much more than you think you do! ('Sigh') But still, I completely understand if you don't feel that-
'Sniff'
Leona: (Turhs Back to See Shingo's Sparkling,Teary Eyes) Shingo-Kun?
Shingo: Leona....('Sniff') I feel same...('Sniff') (Closes his Eyes as He Blurts Out) I HAVE A REALLY HUGE ROMANTIC FEELINGS ABOUT YOU TOOOOO!~
Leona: Wait. (Eyes Starts to Widened as Her Bkush Turns Bright Red, Equivalent to That of a Tomato) Y-Y-You do!?~ W-When? How!?
Shingo: (Starts Wiping his Eyes) Last year, when we went to the coffee shop together after our workout session. When I....(Blushes Again) said that you're amazing and any guy would be lucky to date you....Also, I may have slipped and called you the two words I never I would ever say put together in a sentence.
Leona: Full Package?
Shingo: Yeah, that. I thought about it a lot since then and it didn't really help that the kiss you gave me under the Mistletoe that night basically ignited my feelings for you even more than I let on. Which I liked a lot by the way! Just wish I'd reacted less embarrassing is all...B-But anyways, yeah. I thought about all of that and you along with it. How....things would turn out if we start dating and whatnot. But I've also figured that there might be a chance that you wouldn't feel the same and that you would....also probably think of me a nuisance after a while-
Leona: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Shock) What? Shingo, why would you think I would ever think that way about you?
Shingo: I dunno! It's just the thought that occurred to me at the time! It's nerve wrecking!!
Leona: ('Sigh') I agree. I can't tell you how many time I've been stressed out over these scenarios. (Gently Grabs Both of Shingo's Hands) But even then, I would never think anything terribly about you. I adore you too much to do something like that.
Shingo: You....really mean that?
Leona: (Simply Nodded) I do. Your sweet, upbeat, and especially goofy attitude always manages to put a smile on my face whenever we had the chance to spend time together. And it's thanks to all of that and more it inspired me to be express myself a lot more than I have been, let loose from all the stress and usual seriousness I've displayed on duty.
Shingo: (Genuine Surprised by Leona's Words) Wow. I....never thought I would make that much impact on you.
Leona: (Giggles Softly) Well, it's the truth, isn't it? You're not the only one who've made an impact in my life thus far, mind you, but I will never take your contribution for granted.
Shingo: (Heart Begins to Melt in Pure Happiness) Thanks, Leona-san. I'll never your contribution for granted either.
Leona: (Eyebrow Raised a Bit in Confusion) What contribution exactly?
Shingo: For taking the time to train with me to be a better fighter. (Starts Twiddling his Fingers Together Bashfully) As well as for spending time with me....and being my friend....
Leona: (Giggles Some More) You're very welcome, Shingo-Kun~ (Suddenly Begins to Frown at the Recent Thought) But.....Can I.....ask you another question?
Shingo: What's up?
Leona: Are you....aware of Orochi? And his influence?
Shingo: (Simply Nodded) Yeah. Sensei and Chizuru-Senpai already filled me on everything. About the Hakkeshu, their history, and.....the Riot of the Blood. (Gently Squeezes Both of Leona's Hands and Gives her Determined Look on his Face) And before you say anything else, let me tell you right here and now that you having that cursed won't ever stop me from loving you!
Leona: I-I know, but.....what if I suddenly start losing control again? What if I end up hurting you in the process?
Shingo: (Smiles Reassuringly) Then I'll just have to do everything I can to calm you back down to your sense. Besides, I almost got killed by Iori once, it won't be that much of a big deal- Why did I say that out loud?
Leona: (Eyes Widened in Horror) You WHAT!? Iori used the Riot of the Blood on you!? How!? When!?
Shingo: ('Sighs in Defeat') A few years ago after the 11th KOF tournament ended....(Eyes Widened a Bit of the Memory) On that bridge.... (Suddenly Felt Leona's Hands Shivers with His Before Going Back to Reassurance Mode) B-But I promise to tell you all about it one of these days. Right now, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart that you are NOT a monster nor are you ever Orochi's slave. You are Leona Heidern, the strongest solider I've ever have the pleasure of meeting, whom I and everyone of your peers love very much and that will never change.
Leona felt tears falling down from her eyes as she let's go of one of Shingo's hands to use her own to wipe them away with a small, hopeful smile creeping up on her face.
Leona: ('Sniff') You really are too kind for this world, Shingo-Kun....
Shingo: (Smiles Softly) You too. You deserve to be happy.
Leona's heart begins to flutter as she stares into Shingo's eyes and the care and sincerity it displays with it. It was comforting to see and hear that her love ones cared deeply about her and her well-beings. Even more so that one of them is the boy she's falling in love with. His words fueled something within her. A determined, strong fuel that could never be put out no matter who or what tries to do otherwise.
She'll figure it all of out some other time. As of right now however, Leona has something else in mind get over it.
Leona: Shingo?
Shingo: Hm?
Leona: Sorry, but....Can I....do something right quick?
Shingo: Uh sure. What is it you wanna do?
Leona: (Gently Places her Hand Onto Shingo's Cheeks) This.
Leona leans her head forward and gives Shingo a soft, loving kiss on the lips, sealing the deal of it's entirety. Much to the boy's very apparent surprise.
Shingo: (Blushes Yet Again) Woah.....
Leona: You....like?
Shingo: Yeah.....I like it a lot. So....I guess that means we're uh....
Leona: A couple now. I don't know about you, but....(Smiles Bashfully at Shingo) I would like that to happen. Though, I'm....still new to the whole....romance thing, so....please try to bear with me.
Shingo: (Smiles Softly) Only if you could do the same for me. But...uhhhh...can we....you know? Kiss again? Just for the hell of it?
Leona: (Giggles Softly) Of course~
The newly founded couple leans closer to one another for a second kiss until.....
'BA DA DADADA DA DAAAAAA!'
Shingo/Leona: (Gets Startled by the Jingle Before Turning Towards the TV to see That the Movie a has Started Playing)
Shingo: Huh. (Chuckles a Bit) I guess the FireStick gotten tired of us waiting for so long, huh?
Leona: (Giggles Softly) Yeah. But I think we've wasted enough time as it is. B-But uhh...one more thing and that's it for tonight, but.....Do you....maybe wanna....cuddle together?
Shingo: (Smiles Brightly) Would i!?~ But before we do that....(Grabs a Folded Blanket from the Arm of the Sofa) We gotta get comfy first. (Uses the Blanket to Cover Both Himself and Leona) Like this.
Leona: Hm. Well, what do you know? (Scoots Over to Shingo and Hugs Him) I feel nice and comfy already~
Shingo: (Happily Hugs Leona Back) Told ya. It's relaxing, you know?
Leona: Agreed.
TV Screen: The City of Townsville
Shingo: Leona
Leona: Hm?
Shingo: I know I've already told you this earlier today, but I really mean it when I say that I love you. And I'm willing to tell you that everyday if you want me to.
Leona: You really don't have to do that. (Smiles Softly as She Snuggles Onto to Shingo's Embrace) But I'll always be happy to hear you tell me that regardless. Because I love you too. Always.

Vamos começar simplificando as coisas...

É tudo balela particular pra chamar a atenção.
Alguns dizem VOCÊ PRECISA DE AJUDA pra ajudar quem realmente precisa!
"SAVE ME, BUT HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE SAVED IF YOU SAY I NEEDN'T TO BE SAVED?!"
EVERYONE OF US NEED HELP! EVERYONE OF US NEED TO BE SAVED SOMETIMES!
Heroes not always use cape ou claim for themselves: We need superpowers!
Some people claim to want to have superpowers, but it's only to cover a weakness that they don't need help or want to be superior to everyone in any way.
Thankfully, I never understood people that born this way. I don't know if this is good or evil, but I believe trully that is neutral. It's only a matter of born, feel, change if you want, and if you really understand that different kinds of persons can live together being happy, so try to understand different views is not always a simple try to understand and live happy together. It's more than a simple judgement or general advice, general preaching.
Quem conhece a gente, simplesmente conhece.

Instinct
(@healingagoddess suggested the idea of Ajak watching Gilgamesh and Thena fall in love over the course of seven of their missions, and also: happy birthday!)
Ajak surveyed her team. It was nicely put together, well structured, had a good balance of Fighters and Thinkers. She had her mission, understood her directive. She was intrigued by the Eternals selected for her.
Kallax Prime: A planet largely made up of towering stone structures with the occasional pool of water falling upwards into the 'sky'. Its vegetation had a long way to go, which the Elemental Eternal would be good for specifically.
Ajak liked Sersi. She was sweet, she was kind. She thrived around other life forms, which had yet to be seen if it would be an asset or not. Technically their mission was to terraform the planet only to a point. Integration into the population was not necessarily a requirement.
Although it was possible it was an inevitability, watching Sersi chase around a few young Kallaxons, all four of their arms waving in glee. Ikaris was hovering not too close, but not too far. He was the most directive driven of the team, clearly a pre-ordained second for Ajak to use as she needed.
Even the cantankerous young looking Sprite was enjoying the cooling mist of a lower located geyser. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the time spent not fighting the wretched scourge of Deviants.
Thena was folded in on herself, attempting to make use of the shade of a singular pillar.
The Warrior Eternal was a curious one. Ajak could see so much under the smooth, pearly surface she presented. But the Fighter was not one for people, preferring her solitude. Ajak had to wonder if that would change at all or if she was going to be stuck with half a team's worth of sullen party-poopers.
"Thena?"
Ajak smiled; perhaps not. It was only a notion so early in the mission, but she couldn't help but feel that there was hope yet for the Warrior's frosty demeanour.
"Go back to the others," the Warrior advised her companion. He was the only one with whom she had traded words at all on the way over to the planet. Even since settling, he was the only one who considered her even remotely approachable.
Gilgamesh did not, in fact, heed her instructions. He crossed his arms, leaning against the pillar offering her shelter and looking over her. "Are you trying to avoid the sun?"
The Warrior Eternal was not quick to reply. Her words were carefully chosen, and even more selectively given. Even Ajak found that getting more than a single word from Thena was like pulling teeth.
"It is ceaseless."
That was true. The planet had no cycle of time, the skies a constant green with no time more or less bright than another. The only darkness was forged, found in homes carved into the mountains behind intricately designed doors.
"Yeah, I guess it gets kind of old," Gilgamesh commented, holding his hand over his eyes to look at the grassy green atmosphere above them. He looked at Thena again, "I'm surprised you didn't go hide in the Domo."
"Ajak has locked it."
Gilgamesh had a laugh that could wake a Celestial. Ajak occasionally wondered if he would someday cause a landslide from his voice rattling the air.
Thena at least turned her head as Gilgamesh braced himself against the rock again, his arm up over his head as he leaned his shoulder in. His other hand landed on his hip, assuming a truly relaxed seeming stance.
His shadow melded with that of the pillar, offering just that little bit extra space of shadow. He tilted his head, peeking at the reclusive Eternal. "How's that?"
Ajak could count the amount of times she had seen Thena smile: it was one. The Warrior Eternal was not one for outward expressions. Of all of them, she was the most unreadable.
But Thena offered Gilgamesh a smile that was even whiter and sparklier than her armour. Gilgamesh was quite the opposite of his fighting partner in that regard; it was easy to see on him how pleased he was by her happiness.
Ajak made a mental note to keep an eye on them in the future.
Incarsia: practically made for the Soaring Eternal. That was an exaggeration of course, but only slightly. The minuscule planet had so little gravity that practically everyone could fly for at least the briefest of stretches. Even the children could jump and soar for a sustained 10-15 minutes at a time.
And the Eternals, with their enhanced strengths, could all jump and pounce and soar. They had almost immediately rubbed it in Ikaris' face, too. Ajak had called them children for it, but most of them were only encouraged by her saying so. And the Soldier Eternal responded in relatively good humour (to most of them). Perhaps a family-like structure was good for his narrow driven temperament.
"Heads up!"
The Deviants could also all fly.
Kingo shot down the length of the one they were fighting currently. He slid with no signs of stopping until Ikaris caught him by the leg. Makkari was also having trouble stopping with the velocity of which she was capable.
Thena leapt into the air, able to spin out and dig her blades into the back of it. It would still be able to leap incredible feats, but she could at least saw the wings off of it.
The beast thrashed as she hacked away at its exoskeleton. It had six appendages, and none of them could reach her back there. It bucked and flailed, but she wasn't thrown.
"Thena, the tail!" Gilgamesh unclenched his fists as the tail - twice as long as the body - swung around and whipped into her. She was thrown, and hurtling towards the Strongest Eternal like a meteor. He held his arms out.
Thena collided with him, both of them skidding back on the ground an incredible distance. Gilgamesh summoned his energy into his feet, digging into the ground quite literally before they could be pushed back further.
He was holding her. Not just in reaction to the collision, but he was truly holding Thena in his arms, borderline cradling her protectively. Ajak waited for the reaction of the viciously independent Warrior.
"Gil, get me back up there!" Thena commanded, and her partner obliged, grasping her by the slim waist of her armour and throwing her up into the air without a second thought.
Apparently they were comfortable enough to let something like that slide.
Pyroxis V: too hot. Ajak generally didn't have any complaints about their stations. They were, after all, at the command of the Celestials. But Pyroxis was just...too much. Much of it was an arid desert, many of the mountains were actively volcanic, and all the life forms had cold blood and scales evolutionarily.
Thena seemed to be doing the best of the Eternals on this particular planet. It wasn't entirely explainable, at least in Ajak's eyes. But the Warrior Eternal didn't mind the heat, perhaps resting easier here than she had on any other planet before. She didn't mind the dry air, or the lack of rain, or the scaly, scurrying animals that existed in every nook and cranny of the rocky terrain.
Gilgamesh stretched himself out, relaxing slightly after his shift of watch, and now that evening was upon them. The few degrees cooler could really make a difference. "Man, it was hot up there."
Thena, beside him, was letting some kind of creature scurry around in her palms. "Do you require hydration?"
Even at her most talkative, it still couldn't be said that Thena was a conversationalist.
"No, I'm okay," he responded easily, more than accustomed to her manner of speech and its formalities, "thanks."
Thena let her scaled/spined friend slither off before looking at him. They had taken to wearing local garb when not actively fighting--the climate demanded it of them. She adjusted the white fabric draped around her as she moved closer to him
Gilgamesh let out a sigh as a massive leaf waved a pleasant gust over him. He had no hope of suppressing his grin. "What a nice breeze."
His eyes were still closed, but the smile on Thena's face...Ajak had never seen anything like it.
"You have to make sure you don't overheat." It was a very factual statement, but somehow it sounded so sweet when she said it to him.
Gilgamesh did open his eyes now, looking up at her as she continued to lazily fan a massive frond above him. It did not deter her, which only encouraged him. "That's why I have you, isn't it?"
Thena allowed him to shimmy closer to her. It almost looked like he was resting his head on her knees, but that seemed...highly unlikely. But Thena just kept smiling at him. "Kingo does say I'm rather cold blooded."
Gil made a face, continuing to recline against the comfort offered by the deadliest warrior in the universe. "Yeah, but I mean because you're so nice and cool."
Ajak had to wonder when she had blinked and missed these two becoming so friendly with each other--so close.
Galdion-Sigma III: the most advanced planet they had ever touched down on. So advanced that they were a little resistant when the Eternals arrived. They had identities to prove, testimonies to offer, trials to stand.
It had been somewhat of a long road, but they were at least able to integrate themselves into their world to a degree. Since their whole mission was to curb the Deviant population, that was what they were allowed to do. They were almost immediately given a very specific permit for the Domo, and its crew, sent out to their various outposts where the Deviants had been contained, to a degree.
It was more that the population had contained itself.
Life inside the pod colonies was beautiful, thriving and vivacious. The skies the domes projected were stunning. Outside the pods, was what one would expect from a planet which had made almost no progress in stifling the Deviant threat: nothing. It was a wasteland, desolate and empty and ravaged by predators with no prey.
The Eternals had never been under such scrutiny before. But it was Ajak's idea not to bring their powers up as a means of deifying themselves. She wanted to see what progress could be made if they were thought to be simple worker ants.
"At least it's quiet out here."
Gilgamesh turned with a small smile. Thena settled herself next to him along the rail of the outpost they were guarding. It was flat wasteland as far as the eye could see. At least they could spot Deviant attacks from laughably far away.
She turned from the black, distant sky above them and to him. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," he shrugged off at first, but it didn't fool Ajak. And it wasn't even close to fooling Thena either. The Warrior Eternal raised her brows at him. "I guess."
Thena looked into the distance at one of the many pods dotted along the planet's surface. "Are you...lonely?"
"What?"
Thena raised her head a fraction of a degree, her way of nodding in the direction of the planet's population. "You are...charismatic. You do well when others are around to appreciate it."
He smiled a little wider at her, "you think I'm charming?"
The Warrior Eternal bumped her shoulder against his in an undeniably affectionate fashion. Another moment of silence unfolded between them before she looked at him again, "Gil."
Gil--not Gilgamesh. Gil.
He said nothing. He was of somewhat of a more sensitive nature, Ajak had come to learn. He was a little like Sersi in that regard; they were gentle souls, sensitive to the feelings of those around them. Gilgamesh was lighthearted and able to get along with most anyone. Being deliberately alienated and isolated had not been the most nurturing environment for him and the Elemental Eternal, this time around.
Thena let him wrap an arm around her, supporting him the best way she knew how.
He gave her his most genuine smile--fragile, a little weak at the edges. But real. "How could I be lonely when I have you?"
There was no other sound, just their voices against the vacuum of space. There was an undeniable softness, to their words, to the way they said them, to the way they stood just close enough to each other.
Ajak, in a moment of fondness (weakness), determined that they could take their watch duties together for the rest of this particular mission.
Orexion-9: too loud. Ajak supposed it was a pretty lesser evil, given some of their other planets of station. It was gorgeous, covered in red fauna, with glittering blue waters, and a pink and purple painted sky at all times.
It wasn't quite as unyieldingly bright as Kallax Prime, but it was so, so loud. Much of the planet's surface was actually concave, made up largely of wide, deep craters in which the peoples had created close knit communities. Above the craters, vegetation was lush and large, creating a unique soundchamber of sometimes deafening volume for the hyperalert Eternals.
Even in the nights, the native species found on the planet were never quiet either.
They adapted, as they always did, but it took time. Makkari laughed at them at every possible opportunity, but she often went to Druig to numb away the constant vibrations stimulating her every second.
Thena was doing poorly. The Warrior Eternal's nature was built to be responsive--reactive. She was made to be alert at the slightest disturbance. It was almost impossible for her to find rest on the abysmal jungle planet.
Ikaris was doing similarly unwell, but he had found a certain solace in Sersi, who seemed to emit a gentle aura around her. Even the animals on the planet would calm in her proximity. If she sat still for long enough, she would become a perch for winged creatures.
Thena slept exclusively on the Domo, as far away from the planet's chatter as possible. Of course, as the mission continued and they used the ship less and less, that option was ripped away from her.
Ajak was walking the halls after another talk with Arishem. She was fond of this planet, and its population. Of course, she wasn't supposed to be. She was also getting a little too fond of her team, Arishem reminded her. But her kids were an entirely different matter.
Something wiggled in the back of her mind--an instinct to check on her children.
She nearly rounded the corner to call out to her most restless child when she stopped. Another instinct; she kept quiet, peeking out instead.
"Hey."
Gilgamesh moved to the Warrior Eternal's side, deft and confident in his choice. He wrapped one arm around the width of both of her shoulders. She fit against him snugly.
Thena said nothing, but wasted no time in leaning into him.
"Sh," he whispered into her hair, as if soothing a child, or a spooked animal. His hand ran over her mane of blonde.
Ajak had to look closely, even squinting her eyes. But Thena was shaking faintly. She had to admit, she was surprised; she didn't think she was that ignorant to their suffering.
Thena burrowed deeper against the Strongest Eternal, seeking refuge from the constant deluge of noise around them.
"C'mere," he whispered, guiding Thena from the corner of the room and back to her bed. He sat first, holding her. With no resistance from the naturally resistant - to anything and everything - Eternal, he laid down.
Ajak would never have believed it if she weren't witnessing it personally, but Thena snuggled up to Gilgamesh. The Warrior Eternal sighed, curling up and nuzzling against her fighting partner in the bed previously serving as an echo chamber for her.
But perhaps his heartbeat was loud enough to drown out the jungle around them, because Thena did manage to find some peace with her head pressed against his chest. Her shaking ceased, her breathing slowed, her hands unbunched from around fistfuls of his shirt.
Gilgamesh was unbothered either way, but was still all the more comfortable with Thena by his side. "That's my girl."
This new planet would be different, Ajak decided. They were on their way to it, now, newly awakened (again). She stood back, as always, watching her children meet each other for the first time (again).
There were certain traits that they had, in a sense, passed down to themselves. It was endearing--a reminder of a few of the lives they would never remember. Sersi had slowly become more and more confident with each planet, more assured of herself and her powers.
Ikaris had grown more and more in love with Sersi, earlier and earlier. Unfortunately, that love also became more and more volatile with each incarnation it faced. But this would be different, Ajak was sure.
Ikaris drifted towards Sersi almost immediately, drawn to the Alchemist Eternal, who was drawn to the window, promising life and all its forms for their new lives. He was busy looking at her.
Sprite was busy looking at Ikaris from just behind, unseen by both of them.
Makkari was already teaching Druig how to sign, encouraged by his immediate picking up of her name. Kingo was taking them all in, only having grown more and more observant of his team, now family.
Thena was folded in on herself, almost as if to hide herself in an empty room. She watched the others carefully. She had become even harder to read and even more mistrustful, and Ajak knew why. She knew that she was the reason for it.
Only one approached the silent predator.
He smiled, walking closer until she unfolded, signalling he was close enough. And he respected it, immediately and without question. "Gilgamesh."
She looked at him, something in her eyes burning. Ajak had to admit that she admired the colour of them. They had yet to find a planet with that colour naturally occurring.
"Thena."
He smiled as soon as she said it, as if just the sound of her voice brought joy to his heart. He looked as if he had missed it. As if that were at all possible.
This new planet would be different. Things would go differently. Ajak was sure of it. They would address the flaws from last time, plan better, learn more. She would find a way to help life flourish on this new planet: Centauri VI.
Earth.
Oh, beautiful Earth. Like nothing any of them had seen before. From the second they laid eyes on it. Sersi was immediately in love with it--more in love with it than she ever would be with Ikaris, looking at her longingly from just a step behind.
Earth was a planet bursting with love. Humans were bursting with love. Everything they did, from how they raised their young to how they cultivated food and built cities--it all was driven by love. The love for the young, to create a better, safer world for them. Love for the old, to create comfort for them after protecting them throughout their lives.
Humans were expert protectors. They had an instinct for it built into them, in a way that Ajak had never encountered before in quite the same way. She felt as if she could relate to the humans, in a way. They didn't always make the best - or the 'right' - decisions, but the decisions they did make were certainly attempts to do so. They made their mistakes, they did their best to recover and learn from them. She admired that.
She loved the humans. She loved protecting the humans, as did the rest of the team--the rest of her family.
Kingo adored humans, found them so funny and interesting, with their laughter and stories. He had never been so accepted by a species. No other species had been so indulgent in letting him talk and talk and talk, let alone about himself.
Phastos had mixed feelings about the humans, but inarguably he had his loyalties to the funny little fleshbags. Even Sprite had her fondness for them and their wonderment at her illusions, excitedly trying to make their own replications of them.
Even Thena, who maybe went so far as to dislike humans and their company, loved them. She loved protecting them, and she protected them because she loved them. She made sacrifices for them.
Never was a planet so diverse, its surface so bursting with life. Ajak had finally found a planet with a sea the colour of her sweet Thena's eyes. There were arctic tundras and bottomless seas and even sprawling deserts. The planet had something for everyone.
But Arishem just would not listen.
Ajak visited all of her children when the snap happened. They were immune to it, not technically living beings at all--not that her children knew that was what kept them from being victimised. She saw each of them (who would see her, that was to say). She checked on them, made sure they were doing okay. She recommended Sprite go to Sersi, who was also lonely (recovering from Ikaris' abandonment).
The Prime Eternal made her way to a little house, way out in an arid desert. It was a sweet little home, made for two. She couldn't be sure how welcome she would be, but that wasn't why she was here. She was here to see her children.
"Ajak," Gilgamesh blinked, utterly surprised to see her. He moved automatically to hug her, in a very human way. But he clung to the door, standing protectively in the threshold.
"I wanted to make sure you were both okay," she stated for his sake. She wasn't here for the woman inside--not to take her away, at least. "Is she?--okay, I mean?"
Gil looked back into the house before looking at Ajak again. Gilgamesh had never thrived so much as he had on Earth. Finally, his natural protectiveness had a place to call home. He nodded her inside with him.
Ajak took in the house, with all its small little affects. It smelled like a home, it had a table with a few crumbs on it, a kitchen with a drippy tap and an apron thrown haphazardly over the edge of the sink.
"Hey," Gilgamesh whispered, kneeling down to a figure lying on an old sofa. He ran a hand over it, "she's here."
Ajak's heart clenched in her chest as Gilgamesh leaned down, pressing a kiss to Thena's forehead. This was all she could have hoped for, for them. For two of her favourite children. Not that she had favourites...
"C'mere," he whispered before gathering her into his arms for the simple act of helping her sit up. He turned his head in to hers, letting his lips drag along her cheek.
They were beyond the need for words, clearly. They were still speaking silently when Ajak rounded the arm of the couch to lay eyes on her beautiful daughter. "Thena."
Thena had no words for her, but mustered a smile. Ajak accepted it graciously, leaning down and kissing the top of Thena's hair. Her hands glowed gently, just feeling around the energy still within the Warrior Eternal.
Gilgamesh hovered.
Ajak ran a hand over Thena's hair. "You felt it?"
Thena nodded.
"Before it even happened, I think," Gilgamesh supplied, moving closer at the soonest opportunity. He sat next to Thena, taking her hand in his without a second thought. "Just said 'something's coming' and then...went dark."
Thena was now sensitive to more than even the average Eternal was capable. She knew too much, quite literally.
Thena sighed, leaning against Gilgamesh again. "Stay."
He chuckled, rubbing her shoulder, "I should start dinner."
Ajak stepped back, hands in her pockets, "I should leave you t-"
Gilgamesh smiled at her, though. He hadn't done that since they'd left Tenochtitlan. "She meant you. Stay--at least for dinner."
Ajak paused. She hadn't expected the invitation, regardless of the last time they were able to speak or not. She looked at Thena, "a-are you sure?"
Thena nodded, though, smiling at Ajak with her eyes closed and her head against Gil's chest, "you--stay."
Ajak let out a breath, smiling back tears in her doe-brown eyes. "O-Okay, then."
This time would be different. She would make Arishem listen. She would convince Ikaris. She would make them both see how beautiful Earth was, and how worth saving it was--everyone was. She wouldn't let this one happen, not this time.
It would work this time, she just knew it--mother's instinct.

Mary: Does the Ikari Warriors' team dress like that?!
Yamazaki: Unfortunately, Yes...
Billy: They are military officers, Yamazaki, of course they would dress like that...
