When no one listens
Request: Maybe something thenamesh?? I don't know something cute and fluffy and the other eternals are so done with them - by anon, thank you so so much 🖤
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Thena/Gilgamesh
Words: 792
It is not an everyday thing to find Gilgamesh and Thena so close resting against each other. So, it is hard to pay attention to Ajak’s instructions as two very tired warriors snuggle in the back.
“Stop.” Thena threatens Kingo from afar with her stare.
“I should say the same thing,” he replies back, body fully turning towards them. “What is this that’s going on?”
She looks away and back to Ajak, ignoring him.
At some point during Ajak’s speech Thena rests her head against Gil’s shoulder earning the attention of Druig and Phastos, who just stare at each other like they are in the office.
“You see it too, right?” Asked Kingo.
“Uh,” Phastos takes a moment to think, but is cut off by Ajak.
“Are you guys even listening?” She speaks directly to everyone in the left corner which consist of Kingo, Phastos, and Druig. “What was I talking about?” She asks at their silence.
Kingo and Druig look at each other waiting for the other to talk as Phastos stutters to form an answer to no veil.
“You are talking about the re-distribution of the teams to travel overseas in the search of deviants.” Thena replies from her place attached to Gil’s rib.
Makkari frowns at her with a discerting look, and Sersi just looks marveled.
“Thank you, Thena; but I was talking to the corner on the left.” She gives them a stern look.
It is enough to make them stop, but it has now gained the attention of Sprite. She uses an illusion of herself sitting at the front listening to Ajak, while she walks invisible in the direction of Gilgamesh and Thena. She takes note of how they are holding hands, and how Gil’s thumb is brushing against Thena’s. Just when she is about to prank Gil tickling him with an invisible feather she hears Ajak calling out her name.
“Sprite, I hope you are not using an illusion again to escape. This is a very important matter.” Ajak talks like a mother with a warning tone.
Sprite hurries back to her place. “Sorry, Ajak.” She knows Ajak can detect her better than anyone, a special ability of the prime eternal.
At some point Gil starts to snooze nodding his head not fully asleep, and Thena wraps her arms around him to support him against her own shoulder like a mother would hold a child close. This has now caused distress between the eternals, even Ikaris is looking at them every now and then. Even Ajak blinked a few times in their direction, like trying to see if she was seeing right or it was one of Sprite’s illusions to stop her speech.
Kingo is fully turned towards them, ignoring Ajak right in front of her salad. The salad being a very cozy Gilgamesh and Thena. Phastos’ jaw has almost dropped to the floor, he keeps looking back and forth between Ajak and them. Druig is seeking comfort with Makkari, trying to ignore the scene, but it doesn’t help when the speedster is also occasionally looking at them and trying to gossip with Phastos and Kingo from afar. Sprite joined the corner on the left trying to get a more discreet glimpse of the two strong eternals in the other corner. At this point Sersi is just completely distracted by Ikaris standing next to her at the right side of the hall.
“I’m going to do it.” Mumbles Druig.
“I-” Phastos stutters. “It would be better if-” He struggles to find the right words. “You know what? Do as you please.”
“Don’t mind control them in front of Ajak.” Sprite intervenes.
“Gil?” They all hear Thena’s whispers. “My feet are cold.”
Gil soon takes her feet into his hands and between them to warm them up.
“Okay!” Kingo declares loudly as everyone else starts to complain, disrupting Ajak’s speech. They all get up shaking their head as Ajak looks at them confused.
“And where do you all think you are going?” She asks as they start to leave.
“We don’t even get cold.” Complains Phastos on their way out.
“Nice talk, Ajak. I might throw up.” Druig says.
“This has been the weirdest experience ever.” Sprite says. “I hope it never repeats.”
“What is going on?” Sersi asks as she follows them out.
Ajak shakes her head as she takes a deep breath trying to keep her cool. Her eyes fall on two very exhausted eternals on the right corner that stare right back at her not even one bit of guilt in their faces.
“So, are we dismissed?” Asks Gil.
“Just go.” Ajak says so done for the day.
But she can’t help but smile as she sees them walk out together; hand in hand.

Happy New Year
Request: Maybe a little predictable, but how about something with a new year's kiss? - by @softquietsteadylove thank you so much 🖤
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Thena/Gilgamesh
Words: 799
The radio played soft tunes in the warm ambiance inside their home. The candle lit place looked cozy and soft; only occasional shadows danced at the candle’s flame beat. The place smelled of food as Gilgamesh continued with their special dinner. Thena being present was quiet in her special seat at the table as Gil walked around her managing the different meals. He smiled as he went, proud of the feast he was going to present and happy as Thena was having a good day. A country song played in the background, old as time yet the same tunes she had learned as these played often.
“You are going to love this special blueberry pie I have prepared just for you. It will be my treat for tonight.”
Thena smiled, content to taste whatever Gilgamesh presented her. She was always grateful for everything Gil had managed to prepare for her. She knew he had a lot of work at home with her being not present for long periods of time. It made her feel special to be able to remain calm and present for this night with him. She did not care much about celebrations nor special events, but if it was Gil who proposed the idea she would follow his plans. She wasn’t much of a talker, it was Gil who would ramble about many things she did not comprehend most of the time, but she loved it.
“I conserved these berries just for tonight. I wanted to make something special for you.”
Then blinked slowly with a smile on her face. It was a great sign of apprehension and sincere. She watched as he went on to gather different dishes filled with different variations of food; some she recognized and some she didn’t.
“I just know you are going to love it. Not to brag, but this is better than the cherry pie you love so much.”
She snorted amused, leaning to get a better glimpse of every meal set out on the table. Soon he would disappear through their door as he went outside to collect the pie. She got up to follow him, and stayed at the doorway watching him manage the pie like an expert. She loved seeing him just as present as she was, no worries and no pain. It had been a long time since she had been this present. As he returned she remained at the doorway blocking it, he looked at her before offering a smile as he waited for her to move.
“What?” He asked amused.
Thena only raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips as she closed her eyes in a smug expression. She turned on her heel and went back to her place. Gil laughed before following ber inside, he loved when Thena was being unpredictable in her own ways. In no time, he had joined her at the table as he sang along the music.
“I like the apron.”
Gil let out a hearty laugh, pleased with her answer.
“Best in fashion.” He replied.
“Hm.” She agreed.
“This new year will be the best one yet.” He said trying to hype her up.
She shrugged; another year meant nothing to her, only less time until they returned home. Having lived for so long in this planet she knew time was just a human’s structure.
The tunes were put to a stop as a man’s voice replaced them. The countdown began, Gilgamesh looked thrilled and got up to prepare for a hug. Thena did the same, but she was more confident in her move as she got closer to him.
“…three,” he said as the man on the radio “…two”
At this point Thena found it a little bit silly.
“On-”
Thena’s lips crashed against his own, taking him by surprise at the sudden show of affection. Yet, he embraced her pulling her close to him. The kiss was slow and full of passion, even if Thena’s domination was more aggressive, more like her. It was silly, but the fireworks he heard on the radio were inside his chest as his heart raced loving every movement of their lips. Thena hummed through their kiss at the pleasant sensation of him. She felt drunk and overwhelmed with love before she pulled away with another smug smile.
“Happy new year, my love.” She spoke softly.
“Happy new year, my love.” He replied with a foolish smile. “Now try the pie.”
Thena rolled her eyes and sighed feeling content. And Gil was right, he laughed as her face exploded with different emotions as she took a bite of it. It made him feel special to see Thena like this; loosing ber strong façade and showing her true emotions. This was going to be a good year for both of them.

Is this forever? (Run part 3)
Request(?: @the-camiluchaa said “Great writing! Do you think is gonna be part 3? I would love that, full of action😍“ and I miss Ajak, so of course I did!
Note: I had written this and had more action in it! I was so inspired and then it got deleted!! I don't know how it happened, but it just didn't save after I saved it! So, here's a quick chapter i came up with just right now. I felt really bad after it did not save, that i just wanted to post something tonight since I had planned to do so. T-T

Part 1 Part 2
The ambiance upon arriving to the Peruvian Amazonia in your search for Druig was heavy. You kept close to Ajak, avoiding Ikaris as much as you could. Sersi tried to keep her distance and remain composed around him. She was doing amazing and you were so proud of her. On the other side, Kingo and Sprite had been at it for hours. You had forgotten how much Kingo liked to tease everybody, and it was getting to Sprite leaving her in a moody state. It was better to keep close to Ajak, who was looking after Thena along with Gilgamesh.
It was strange to see a village stuck in time, clearly under the influence of Druig. It didn’t take long to find him. And the awkward silence of the first two minutes in that chapel felt like an eternity. Until he spoke, and then Ajak revealed everything. He took it far better than you did, but it was going to take some time to convince him to join you.
“I’m not going to say anything other than I knew you were wrong.” Druig states directly to Ajak.
Ikaris gets up and gets on Druig’s face
“You have no idea what you are talking about.”
“You always wanted to be mother’s favorite. Yet, it seems she has chosen someone else.” Druig nods towards you.
You close your eyes in annoyance, but say nothing to avoid upsetting Ajak some more. If only Druig knew the whole truth, if only everyone else did like Sprite and Sersi do. Ajak was still protecting Ikaris.
You disperse to cool off after Druig, Kingo, Ikaris and Ajak got into a heavy discussion that had nothing to do with Tiamut.
“Do you think he can do it?” you ask.
Both you and Ajak were sitting against a tree not far from Gil and Thena.
“I believe his power is strong enough to put Tiamut to sleep.”
“What happens if he can’t do it?”
“He will. I think he-”
A distant screech cuts her off, and you both immediately stand to your feet. You look at each other for a moment focusing all your senses on the distant sounds. Suddenly, you watch Ikaris being dragged by a deviant and your fighting mode activates as you begin to duplicate.
“Go with Thena!”
You shout before both you and Gilgamesh go to Ikaris aid.
You slam against the deviant and send it a few meters far away from all of you. You try to go again with a kick, but the deviant senses your cosmic energy and charges back to Gilgamesh and Ikaris. You and your replicas end up colliding into thin air. You are quick to respond and charge back to help them both, but Gilgamesh intends to take the deviant himself in a one on one match. You try to help, but soon are distracted by Ajak’s voice.
“Thena… remember who you are.”
You hear her soothing voice and turn to find her with her hands up in the air channeling cosmic energy. Similar to the lights forming on Thena’s face. You worry as you send your replicas after the deviant, and making your way back to Ajak. It is difficult to control both your main power and your focus on helping Ajak. You can feel it wavering as you get closer to her, slowly as to not scare Thena.
“Ikaris…” you say never looking away from both Ajak and Thena. “Help Gilgamesh.”
You see him debating for a moment and you start to lose patience.
“Go with Gilgamesh.”
You repeat yourself noting how Thena is struggling against her illness.
“I follow no orders from you.”
He says before getting in the middle of Ajak and Thena, finally getting her to act out and lose herself. They start fighting each other as Ikaris tries to stop Thena, and she tries to murder him. You feel your cosmic energy expand out your body as your replicas disperse into two directions: to help Gil and to help Ajak as you try to keep both Ikaris and Thena to stay alive as well. And it is chaos.
Your head feels like breaking into three different sections, and you are everywhere at once trying to make sense of every situation. You notice that at least five replicas are helping Gil, and three are taking Ajak further into the forest hiding from the spot that has now turned into a battle camp. You mediate between Ikaris and Thena. Suddenly, he hears something and takes off. Leaving you now with the death stare from Thena. And she comes at you at full speed with sword in hand. You have no time to think and your replicas come back to you as you try to keep Thena from hurting you and hurting herself. You barely make it the first time, but the second time she gets you with her sword piercing your stomach. And you feel the air leaving your body as the thrill sends a shiver all over your body. Pain and panic take over as you try to stay focused everywhere.
You prepare to die as Thena dematerializes her sword, expecting her to summon something bigger to end you. It never comes, instead she stands there blinking several times trying to remember something as she stares at something behind you. And in a matter of seconds she turns around with tears in her eyes, lights still forming in her eyes. Then, you see Gilgamesh being held by the deviant as it drains his cosmic energy. You try to rush to his aid, but stumble on your feet before a single replica takes after him. But it’s too late, and you watch as Thena kneels in front of Gil. In a matter of seconds, everything turns black.
_ ✽ _
The first thing you notice upon waking up is how humid your surroundings feel. Your senses spread to the rest of your body as cosmic energy still lingers there. Ajak is holding you, her face is stained with tears, and you can feel them on your face as well. She is not looking at you, instead, her broken gaze lies elsewhere. Sitting up the first thing you notice is a platinum shape; it is Thena. You get up immediately, as you remember the final encounter with the deviant. Thena sobs on the ground with her forehead pressed against Gil’s, and you confirm that he has in fact passed. No. He was murdered. Looking around you take notice of everyone else's presence with the exception of Druig. Your eyes search for that one eternal in the crowd, and when you find him a fire is set ablaze within your core. A new found rage fills your soul, and you march towards Ikaris before slamming him into a tree. This catches Thena’s attention.
“Y/N! Don’t!” Ajak rushes in your direction with pleading eyes.
“This is all your fault!” You yell out as you place your hands on his shoulder with a tight grip keeping him from escaping.
“I was just trying to help everyone else.” The words slide out his mouth with bitterness.
“No. You know what you did. It is your fault that that deviant got what it wanted.” Your furious eyes look into his icy cold ones. “Why don’t you tell them the truth?” You whisper the last part.
Ajak looks away as Sersi steps closer with tears forming in her eyes. Nobody else knows the truth other than Sersi and Sprite.
“Tell them… tell them how you tried to kill her!” The sound of your voice pierces through the forest like a thunder. “Tell them how you took Ajak to that lake with your big lies only to try to get her killed by the same deviants. How you planned for us… for ME to find her body there. All because she changed her mind about this mission.” You press him harder against the tree.
Nobody talks for a moment, but you notice everyone has gathered around keeping some distance from the both of you.
“Is this true?” Kingo asks.
Ikaris remains in silence giving the confirmation that Kingo needs.
“You don’t do that.” He says in all seriousness. “You don’t do that to family. Even if we don’t agree with their newfound plans or beliefs, we don’t harm our family.”
“He plans to get rid of everyone that comes between Arishem and his mission. He is just waiting for the right moment. And Gilgamesh was the first to pay for this.”
As you say the last part Thena gets up summoning her weapon. Ikaris pushes you away with force before taking flight. And you swear that for a moment you saw his beams forming in his eyes.
“Coward!” Thena yells out after him.
“Wait! Take me with you!” Sprite says before materializing into an illusion of hundreds of bees as they both escape.
“They’ll come back.” Thena states.
“And when they do.” You reply.
“We’ll be waiting.” She finishes.
You go towards Ajak, who in the middle of the argument left to kneel beside Gilgamesh. Thena returns as well, and they both weep for him. The others remain talking about Sprite’s sudden betrayal. Your arms come to wrap around Ajak from behind as you place your head on her back offering support. She turns in your embrace and cries into your arms as you rock her gently in soothing and consoling motions. The sight is heartbreaking and as soon as Druig shows up a funeral is prepared.
_ ✽ _
Nobody sleeps that night as thousands of questions and thoughts from the events of the day swirl in their minds. Somewhere during the night, you find Ajak staring at the ceiling wide awake, unable to sleep just like you.
“Have you spoken to Arishem?” You ask softly.
Ajak turns to look at you slightly taken aback. “No.”
You keep staring at her waiting for an explanation.
“Every time he just informs me when the emergence will occur… and there is nothing else he needs from me. My deed is done… and that’s it.” She says lost in thought.
“Have we ever been like this?” You finally ask. “In our past lives?”
She looks at you for a moment choosing her words carefully. “No. This is the first time I experience this.”
For some reason you don’t feel sad about your past life knowing you didn’t have to suffer for Ajak at the end of times.
“But,” she continues “You are new to my missions.” She manages a gentle smile.
And you can see how she tries to smile through her tired eyes as well before you fully digest the new information.
“Wait… do you mean what I think you mean?”
Ajak nods. “This is the first time we met… so, it’s really nice to meet you.”
Tears cloud your eyes at the realization of how much Ajak has changed thanks to you.
“What was it like for you?”
“It was different… from all the times I had done this. Some come and go, and that’s alright. But you have a passion that is so unlike everyone else’s.” She makes sure to stare deep into your eyes. “I told you this before; you make your own rules. And also,” she pauses to give you a flirty look. “You are the first one to look at me like this.”
You chuckle before getting closer to kiss her lips.
“Do you think this is our last night like this?” You ask her.
“No, I know it’s not. I have faith in Druig.”
“And then what will happen?”
“And then… we wait.”
“For what?”
“Arishem.”
“Do you have any idea-”
“We’ll sort this out. And we’ll warn everyone else in this whole universe.”
And you take her word seriously putting all your trust in her, so you nod once and kiss her sweetly before trying to rest.
_ ✽ _
As promised, during the emergence Ikaris and Sprite show up. You duplicate as soon as you see him, you launch at him with your replicas surrounding him and taking turns in puching him around. The look in his face when he corned Ajak in that cliff, her face at the realization of what was happening, Sersi's tears for him, Druig's and Gilgamesh's death, all of that is coming back to you. The pain he has caused you and your family is all coming out at this moment in the form of revenge.
After he takes down the domo, and Thena joins in the fight. You are sure that you will get him this time, at least the satisfaction of seeing him in this position is almost enough. You want more, and so does Thena as she goes for the last deviant. You have no idea how many times all of you have taken Ikaris down only for him to get back up and attack you. Ajak has been holding on her own very well, with Phasto's techonology you've been able to fight beside her. But the fear you feel as Ikaris goes after Sersi is huge, some part of you knows that he is incapable of hurting her. And it is confirmed when she completes the final puzzle and is able to continue with your plan; killing Tiamut with her bare hands and your power convined.
The glorious victory against them only makes the promise of being with Ajak forever more real and emotional. You embrace her as soon as Tiamut remains frozen in time. Your lips reach for each other and seal your forever with a passionate kiss in the presence of the celestial as you still feel its power connected to you. It feels like nothing but pure bliss, you have not just gained your ever after with Ajak, but you have saved this world and all its wonders. You celebrate your victory with the love of your life and your family. And soon you find yourself in another adventure with Ajak as both of you leave to explore the universe in search of others.
“Will you miss this world?” You ask before you leave the planet Earth’s atmosphere.
“No, I have everything I need here with me.” She smiles as she pulls you close.
“I feel the same way.” You grin with your eyes. “I’d follow you ‘til the end. Whenever that is.”

Can I have this dance?
Request: How about Eternals fighting against Deviants and thenamesh incredible fighting as a team. The way they fight the way it almost looks like a dance. Communication without really talking. - by anon, thank you so so much🖤
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Thena/Gilgamesh
Words: 525
Note: I know nothing about ballet uefjerrefn I'm sorry. But I also loved their dance, and loved their connection. When Gil takes her hand after battle, I- They are so perfect. And also, I had a good idea last night... but I'm depressed :p and I was like I'd do it later. And when later... I was more depressed hewfbhewbrhf apologies.
Early on time, the night oddly falls on top of them as the beasts of the day turn into nightmares. It doesn’t matter how many times the deviants try; their dance is ancient. It is truly a wonderful sight to see as two strong beings joined in battle soar through the skies as shadows barely seen by the moonlight. She moves her body gracefully, with every jump and perfect arch as she brings out her spear. When she becomes a whirlwind before every attack, Gilgamesh is always there to catch her. They know their place, they know their poses, and they know each other. The battlefield becomes a stage of their known dance.
This night, as always, she has chosen to take the lead, lunging herself at the very first deviant that crosses her path. Her body positions itself in a matter of seconds to slide beneath the deviant, in a long elegant shape as she arches her back raising her hand to stab and slice open the beast’s stomach. She looks like a goddess, and when she finally comes to a stop he is there to lift her up. This way he throws her midair as she proceeds to extend her legs changing weight from one foot to another in a jeté, raising her weapons like the goddess of war that she is. In no time, the deviant is stabbed in the head and ended.
The lighting in her weapons have caught the attention of other deviants, something they knew very well. She uses this distraction to go around the battlefield, her arms waving over her head as she stands on her tiptoes to jump from side to side in a Glissade. The beast follows her as she does so, getting closer and closer. And she twirls positioning her legs one behind the other and after the other as Gil’s shape lurking from the shadows come face to face in front of the deviant as he offers her a hand to twirl right into the darkness, one punch is all it takes to crush the small deviant’s head.
As the third and last one goes after him, Gilgamesh throws punch after punch making way for Thena, who stands on pose at the sidelines waiting for her entrance. She jumps once, twice, and into his hand that was ready for her as he launches her into the air performing an excelent tour jete. There is something spiritual in seeing her soar into the sparkling night sky in some sort of slow motion as she summons two sharp weapons into her hands. And there is something powerful in seeing her slice the deviant’s neck in half. She freely and carelessly jumps off its back and into the air falling confidently into the arms she knows are waiting for her. As one last punch ends the beast, one final stance is formed as two strong eternals hold onto each other in professional poses — and rest. Both withdraw, he offers his hand knowing she will accept it. And when she does, she looks into his eyes with a soft gleaming smile. No words needed to be spoken, they already said everything.

Cuddling Hcn
Request: How the eternals woman would like to cuddle hcs? - anon
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Note: Guess who graduates on tuesday?! Finally done with my part of every assignment.
_ ✽ _
Sersi
She is the most neutral when it comes to cuddles, yet the one that likes it the most.
She is very romantic and enjoys being close to you.
She prefers to be the little spoon, but can totally switch depending on the mood and the position.
Loves it when you rub her tummy because it makes her feel warm and comfortable.
She likes to rub her legs together, which is cute and strange because she does it out of comfort rather than being cold.
Talking is very important to her. Every night before going to bed she likes to talk, about anything: about her day, about feelings, memories, funny stuff she saw, anything.
Sometimes you watch TV while cuddling, but mostly she watches videos on her phone and both of you enjoy whatever pops up as she scrolls.
Sometimes when you cuddle on the couch she throws a blanket on top of both of you.
She likes to hold your hands too. That’s how she ends up controlling the cuddles because she guides your hands to wherever she wants them.
Pls give her lots of little kisses because it melts her.
Makkari
She is very specific when it comes to cuddling, but at the same time she is not.
She likes to cuddle, but it depends on the mood and who is the big or little spoon.
Sometimes she wants to be held, and sometimes she likes to hold you.
She is very chill, so it all just falls into place. She is not demanding and just gets carried away with the mood in the room.
Cuddling with her is the most interesting thing in the world because she will literally share the most interesting stuff. Places she has been, things she has collected, and wonders of the world. She has treasures that you can’t believe she does.
You find out a lot of her mischievous adventures like that which usually ends up with you asking “are you serious?” and she is. Or just impressed and proud.
It feels like being in space with her, that only you and her are out there floating and discovering the world.
Every time you cuddle both of you learn something new which is the most amazing thing in the world.
And most of the time snacks are involved, she loves snacking almost as much as Druig.
You watch tv while cuddling too, mostly documentaries. Most of the time both of you debate on the actual events.
Thena
This is a tough one. She doesn’t like to cuddle at all, and she only does so when the mood is too specific.
If you are at the domo she isn’t likely to cuddle you. She likes to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling with you as both of you talk about everything. She gets deep on stuff, but also has a little bit of playfulness that only saves for you.
She is tough but not rough, so she is very delicate with her movements and touch that sometimes you’d catch her stirring elegantly like a cat all spread out. These moments are rare; she is always so composed and holds a very rigid pose.
When she does cuddle you is when both of you are sent out on a mission, under the endless sky on a boat sailing to distant shores to defeat deviants. She does so in a protective manner as she wants to feel you close and safe. She wouldn’t deny it if you mention to someone else, but you would never do so. These moments and memories are yours and yours alone.
She doesn’t mind when you cuddle her but she does get tired after some time and will break free from your hold. Instead she will squeeze your hands and find another position. These moments last as much as half an hour.
That will change after mahd wy’ry.
When she has her episode she will isolate for some time until you learn to deal with it. On her good days she will seek cuddles. Which is something that both surprised you and made you feel sad, because you know the Thena you once knew would never do that. She’d show comfort, love and security in different manners.
She likes to be held the most, even when she hurts you and wants comfort she will seek for the comfort of your arms. You like to kiss the top of her head when she does. It is more like a hug as you both cuddle with her hands clutched together in the middle as you embrace her and place soft kisses all over her face. You always talk to her to make her stay and to feel safe and loved.
Ajak
She gives the best cuddles. She is cuddle material because you feel sooo comfortable with her.
Her hugs and embrace are just the best, you fit right into her arms and she is so tiny that she fits right into your arms as well.
You prefer to lay your head on her chest, and lay almost all of your weight on her side.
She is the little spoon when cuddling on the couch and watching TV. Mostly because you like to be touchy.
You are more likely to fall asleep than her because she has trouble sleeping.
Something keeps her awake.
She never talks about the past when everyone was still together. She only talks about her life after. Sometimes at night as you both cuddle and get deep in conversation you notice some heaviness in her voice.
You are the big spoon or on top of her when you go to sleep, but in the morning you are the little spoon always.
She likes the closeness and how intimate and cute it is.
She sings a lot too, so she will sing you to sleep which you adore.
The entire experience is cozy and beautiful.
She steals the blanket.

Request: Eternals women reacting to reader getting hurt? - anon
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Note: I am so sorry it took me forever. I tried to take some time to write this before I begin to work on my final projects this weekend. I loved writing this.

Sersi
• She is not the type to have a fast reaction. With being a thinker she must take a moment to reflect on what happened.
• As soon as her senses have filled every space of place and time she will react.
• More likely to yell out Ajak’s name first. There is a sense of safety knowing the prime eternal can heal you.
• If Ajak is not around she will dial for an ambulance depending on how serious your injury is. Or she’ll drive you to the nearest hospital while breaking some rules on the way.
• She’d cry a lot regardless.
• The type to cradle you in her shaky hands as she brings your foreheads together.
• She’ll use her power to help you stop any bleeding, or to create ice to soothe your ache and help with swelling.
• She’ll stay by your side the whole time it takes for you to recover.
• She’ll remind you how much she loves you and how sorry she is that you have to go through that.
• If Ajak is around she’ll beg to stay with you as she heals you.
• Once you recover she’ll remind you all the time to be careful.
Makkari
• She is fast, and she reacts fast.
• You won’t get a time to react before she gets help in a matter of seconds.
• More likely to get Ajak to heal you, or Druig if the injury isn’t that serious.
• She worries sick, but she won’t leave your side and won’t get in the way.
• In fact, she will take revenge on whoever caused your injuries in a matter of seconds as you are being healed.
• She is tough and she won’t break easily even if she has strong emotions on the inside.
• You admire how strong she is, but she will express how worried she was once you are feeling better.
• Will tell you how much she loves you ONCE, and that is all you need to know how much you actually mean to her.
• She will get you anything she thinks you might need or like while you are healing. She’ll probably bring you some plushie to cheer you up.
• Both of you don’t need to communicate with words, a single look is enough for both of you to understand.
• She will cuddle you as soon as she is able, glued to your side until you are good as new.
Thena
• She will be frozen in time worried to hurt you even more.
• It will be hard to forgive herself if she hurt you. Even if she’s hurt you other time she will feel guilty and sad. So, she’ll keep her distance with sad and regretful eyes.
• Before, when all of you were together, she’ll naturally get Ajak’s help and not worry much. She’ll be proud of you for being a warrior. She’ll hate to see you hurt, but she knows there will always be someone to help you.
• Another one to take revenge. She won’t rest regardless how minor your injury. A scratch? POOM! POW! SLASH! DEAD!
• In present times she’ll worry more to hurt you herself and will try to keep her distance as she earns your touch. During those quiet nights she will confess to you her desire to be present at all times. Often caressing your injuries as a form of regret and guilt. It is tough to see her like this. You think her soul breaks some more each time.
• She is so grateful for you and wants you to live a long life. She asked you to end her once, when she thought she could have actually killed you. And it’ll take you some time to destroy the walls she built.
• She wants to protect you, and it terrifies her that she is not able to do so.
• You know how to help her when she gets her episodes, and you are good at helping her feel better after them. But every time her gaze falls on your wounds her eyelids become heavy like clouds with rain.
• You love it when she tries to help you herself when you are hurt, because you know it gives her some sort of relief to be able to assist you.
• A quiet communication of a known dance as she cleans your wounds and patches you up under the bright stars.
Ajak
• She has nothing to worry about because she is a healer, yet, she is the one to worry the most when someone gets hurt.
• It pains her more than anything to see you in pain, to see you injured and vulnerable.
• She rushed to your side as quick as possible, her hands always working fast. Her touch is more delicate and intimate. She knows your body like she knows hers.
• You love watching her heal you, not so much the part where you get injured, but you do love watching her concentrated face and how her eyebrows lift in a frown and her lips pout as tears escape her eyes.
• She cries a lot, and she worries so much that has everyone worried for her including you. Eventually, she does keep her posture as your leader as not to worry you. But everybody knows she is putting up a façade.
• Usually, when you get hurt she heals you in a matter of minutes (depending on the severity of your injury, sometimes it only takes seconds) but the aftermath lasts days with her being overprotective and more attentive to your needs.
• BUT she will give you and everyone else a big scolding for whatever happened. She knows everyone is capable of being their very best and not to put themselves in harm ways, AND that accidents happen. But she can’t allow it to happen. Something that she keeps to herself is that she doesn’t want you to die, because she knows that there is a chance you will come back without your memories and that would be worse than death.
• You hate it when she goes quiet after that, because you know she is feeling the weight and the drag of seeing you in harm ways.
• You have to console her with soft kisses and whispers of promises that you will do better.
• Prepare to have her all over you for weeks as she becomes overprotective to the point that she will hold your hand as both of you go out and helps you cross the streets, and she will hold you tighter in crowded spaces.
• A mixture of words of love and scolding. You’d understand her more it if she’d say everything in english instead of spanglish, but you love it anyways.
• You will always feel safe and for forever with Ajak. You feel eternal.

_ ✽ _
You were in the middle of ending a deviant, you had calculated your strength and movement as you made a flip over its head like Thena always did. But as you fall in slow motion, sure of your move, a sudden blur pushes you out of the way at full speed. At first you thought it was Makkari, but before you lost consciousness there was a piercing pain through your entire front with a ringing of the ears.
Your mind is clouded when you wake up, eyes shooting open and you sit up too fast you feel as if the world has shifted with you. The feelings of the covers slipping through your body makes you aware of your bare state. There’s blood everywhere and some gore parts you are not sure what it means. Letting out a whimper thinking it’s a nightmare you hear something shift besides you as Ajak enters the place. She is quick on her pace, and your vision blurs. In an instant she is by your side, and you turn to look at her. And you feel someone pushing you back down the bed? Table?
“She is awake.” Ajak states, her touch quick and urgent, and her voice neutral. She only uses that tone when something serious happens. There is always life in the way she talks to all of you, passion and something soft like love.
“How is she awake?” Phastos asks, trying to find an explanation like he always does. Unlike Ajak, he seems to be in full panic. He sounds agitated and his movements feel everywhere pacing around the place.
“How is she still alive?” You think that’s Druig… or Ikaris? Either way, you hear a grunt and sudden overflowing pain.
You want to scream, but you are only able to whimper and moan. Her lips with a pout breathes out strong and fast ‘schs’ to quiet you down, and you can feel hot tears slid down the sides of your face. You can’t see through the tears nor blurry vision, but you can distinguish Ajak and you can feel her touch; painful.
“She has her focus on you, Ajak.” Someone says in awe, and Ajak only hums. You can hear it in her tone that she is mad.
After half an hour later your body is stable, and Ajak is still working on minor injuries. At some point Phastos and Druig left to see the others. She has been quiet the whole time and you have remained quiet trying to figure out what happened and what to do now. You think you can’t snap her out her thoughts because she seems very concentrated. Your eyes follow her face everywhere she moves; it gives you some sort of comfort to know you are safe with her. You notice to full detail every movement of her eyebrows, her lips and the way her eyes darken at times. And you can see when she begins to tire from all the cosmic energy she used on you.
And when she’s done, she hovers over you staring right back at you with blazing eyes. You gulp, feeling so small under her gaze. “What. Were. You. Thinking?” She puts emphasize in every world she spits out.
“What do you mean?” You know what she means, and you can see her taking a deep breath with her furious gaze never leaving yours. You are not a fighter, but you are stronger than the thinkers. You are mere an observer in battle, a shadow that helps when needed to. You calculate, you plan, and you use your power to remain unseen, but you are able to attack as well. However, that doesn’t matter because Ajak had asked you long ago to stay away from battle. “I miscalculated.”
“Miscalculated?! Is that what you call jumping into battle and into the claws of a deviant?” You cower down for a moment.
“I didn’t do such a thing.” You whisper. “No, I didn’t. I had it under control. I just miscalculated the-“
“Don’t lie to me.” Her tone is stone cold now.
“I am not!” You try to defend yourself as you are getting worked up.
“Thena saw you!”
“No, she saw wrong!” Truth is you don’t remember what you did exactly.
Ajak closes her eyes and breathes through her nose trying to calm down her anger. “Don’t yell. And don’t lie to me when my hands are covered in your blood.”
You had never seen Ajak like this, and you are really not in place to question her nor to doubt her. You remain quiet staring at her until she opens her eyes again and she stares right back. “Do you understand what you did? What happened to you?”
There is a change in her tone, you can hear the worry in her voice. You know you fucked up, but you know you might have believed in yourself to do such a thing. “So what if I do? And I’d do it again to protect the others?”
Ajak looks exhausted, and finally steps away. “Let’s get you washed up.” And that’s when you finally come back to your senses and where you are, when your space is not filled with her. You are in your own room, your sheets and your bed a bloody mess. Ajak has disappeared in what would be your bath place, you stand up bare leaving the stained fabric behind and follow where she went.
She has the water running and she is fixated on the flow, lost in a trance until you speak. “Are you okay?”
She takes a breath that sounds suspiciously like a sob. You look at her worried and examine her face to read her expression. But she turns to look at you with faint red eyes. “You almost died. No, you were gone and then you came back to us.” Her voice is strong, but you can hear the shakiness with every sharp word. “And I couldn’t- when they told me you had died, I-“ She pauses and her eyes seem to get lost trying to find the right words. But she frowns, confused.
Tears start to sting your eyes, and you feel guilt. You caused them pain, you caused her pain. Before she even speaks you launch forward and embrace her in a tight hug and she does the same, holding tight onto you and tears finally cascading her eyes. “You have no idea what I felt when they told me that, and when I ran to see you and you were sitting there I felt something I had never experienced in my entire existence. Y/N, I think it is love, and I don’t want to see you in that position ever again. I don’t want to hear you cry, and most of all, I don’t want to see you dying. I can’t bear it. I can’t lose you.”
You have no idea how to react to that confession, but you know you have loved her since the moment she opened her eyes on the very first day you met her. You pull away, only enough to look at her and you press your foreheads together. “Ajak, I am so sorry. I am okay now, you saved me.” Looking into her eyes, you allow the emotions take over you, and then, you press your lips against hers and she gasps in surprise for a moment. She is not used to being touched, and neither are you. But this is something the humans do when they love. It feels surreal, exciting and you never expected it to feel like that. The hot weaves of electricity that emerges from your chest feel unlike the cosmic energy you use, this one feels pleasant and warm. Ajak places her hands on the sides of your face and pulls you closer to her, savoring you and getting to know you like this. And then she pulls away, she doesn’t know how to react to this.
You won’t shy away, and you pull her robe off her shoulders and it slips off her body like silk. She looks beautiful when she dresses like humans with her blue and gold always present. You can see her doubting, but she also looks worried and you know she won’t be over what happened for a while. The fact that you both are stained with your blood doesn’t help either, so you undress her completely while she traces the path of your hands on her body as you discard every garment. She’s never been this exposed to anyone, but she has always found a way for intimacy with those she has been close to. It is different with every single one, and she is certain this time is a different type of love; one she has never explored and never imagined to feel like this.
You guide her into the bath first and you hover over her, like she did before when she was healing you. For a moment you don’t know what to do, but you follow your instinct and cup her breasts. You can’t help it when she’s been blessed with the most beautiful body you have ever seen. And she closes her eyes and her lips part with an ‘o’ shape. Her nipples harden under your touch and you feel something warmt puddle between your legs. You wonder if she feels like this too, and then she guides one of your hand down and very low. You know what she wants and you don’t hesitate to give it to her. You cup her center and she sucks in a breath as she throws her head back, you can feel her slit on your fingers and when you press on her entrance you feel it wet with something else than water. Ajak moans and lifts her head back up to look at you, and she finds you staring at her body in awe. She grabs you by the face and turns it her way, she wants to look into your eyes as you take her.
When you slide your fingers inside of her Ajak hisses, but melts into your touch. Lips part and her eyes never leaves yours, you get closer to her face as your fingers start to pump in and out slowly at first, but then you look at the urgency in her face and pick up a quicker pace. There is an indescribable connection between the two of you. It’s like you are connected not just physically, but deeper in all your being and existence. She pulls you on top of her urging you to get in the water and you carefully lay on top of her dropping all you weight on the free space on her side. And her hand reaches down directly to your clit and you feel electricity swarming inside you expanding to every end of your body. You start rocking against her hand, and you continue your pace on her. She inserts her digits inside of you and you cry out at the new sensation.
Both of you pick up a rhythm, and you can’t stop looking at her face. The way her eyebrows furrow, how she keeps her lips parted as sighs and gasps escape her. She looks so beautiful in this light, in this state, all worked up with a slight red to her cheeks. You want to remember every detail, every sound, and the way she feels wrapped around your fingers. As you keep a fast pace you notice a certain change in her face full of pleasure and on edge, her walls are clenching around your fingers and then she gives out a heavy sigh. At this point she has triggered something inside of you too and you feel stars forming inside of you that are ready to explode, and then you feel it happening. Both of you a trembling mess, sending water everywhere until you both ride out your orgasms.
“Ajak, I love you.” You say from on top of her, pressing your foreheads together. She seems to glow as she smiles and embraces you.
“Y/N, I love you too. Like I’ve never loved anyone before. Te amo.” And you melt into her. You don’t care what the future holds for both of you, in this moment Ajak and you have changed for good.

Cuando calienta el sol
Request: Smut with ajak getting turned on by seeing the reader work out? But it’s hard to since it’s around the other eternals? - anon
Warnings: English is not my first language. Smut. NSFW.
Pairing: Ajak/F!Reader
Note: The title says “when the sun heats”. I didn’t know how to write this one ngl. It took me longer than expected, and I was also going through a depression episode. Anyways, it’s finally here hehe.
_ ✽ _
The sun fell upon you as you trained in the middle of the arid field. You are usually led by Thena or Ikaris; although, you prefer Thena’s approach the most. You can feel the arena full of cosmic energy, and the sudden movements around you are strong and intense. The thrill and the adrenaline build so exquisite that drags you into training with excitement. You are soaring through the air with full speed and force as you flip over Thena avoiding her spear.
Usually, there is no audience, but Sersi waits for Ikaris — and Sprite showed up at some point. When Ajak is not busy, she joins to watch you train and give an overall report of your progress. She leads in battle even if she does so from afar. You are used to her burning gaze upon you: cold and calculating. You like it; it makes you feel safe. Therefore, you let yourself go filled with more power and energy.
“They are amazing, aren’t they?” Sersi comments as she sets her attention on the fighters.
“They are.” Ajak agrees, never once losing her focus.
She is always composed, but even then she shows some sort of pride. There is also something fascinating when the fighters train; how they move in perfect motions and complement each other. It’s like watching a perfect dance. And she stares at you and the way your body moves; how flexible it is and toned that it slides perfectly between the raging battle going on. She doesn’t notice the moment she starts to feel some sort of heat within her stomach that extends through her chest.
It takes you some time to notice a heavy gaze on you, and that is because it feels like someone is luring like a cat with its prey. Someone is waiting for the moment you fall from the tree to snatch you into their claws. You think it must be Thena, since she tends to step aside to observe before attacking. Makkari sometimes has a similar effect, but it doesn’t feel like her. You look around and find Thena in a heated one on one match with Gilgamesh. Makkari has both Ikaris and Kingo at her tail with amazing strength and force, yet she manages to dodge them. And then you look at the sides of the arena, and notice a certain blur of movement you can’t quite distinguish in time. You let it go and continue with your training.
On the sidelines, Ajak has begun to notice she has been staring way too much. That is something that never happens because it means distraction. But she can’t look away and a breathy sigh escapes her lips.
“Ajak, are you alright?” Sersi asks before approaching the eternal.
“Fine.”
And then she notices you look around at them and quickly averts her gaze. There is a noticeable blush on her cheeks and Sersi doesn’t fail to notice.
“Are you sure?” There is worry in her voice.
“Are you feeling alright, Ajak?” Sprite asks noticing Sersi’s sudden distress.
Ajak is blushing so hard out of embarrassment. “It must be- uh, must be the heat… from… the sun.” Discreetly, she returns her gaze to you just to see if you are looking at her. She feels relieved to find out you are not.
“Let’s take you to the shade.” Sersi says. “Maybe bring you some water. Stay with her, Sprite.” And she disappears to get something to hydrate Ajak.
Their leader just wants to be swallowed by the earth at this point. Her heart is pounding — and she is sweating, and she loved the delicious friction it causes inside of her to look at you. She is loving the way your muscles are so toned, and how soaked in sweat you are; she can see how it drips down your neck. Ajak whimpers slightly, and Sprite squeezes her hand.
“It’ll be alright, Ajak.” Sprite offers support.
And Ajak takes a moment to avert her eyes once again to try to compose herself. Sprite leads her to the shade of the green nature that surrounds the small field. It doesn’t take long for Sersi to return with a container with water. Ajak takes a drink trying to convince herself she is hot due to the sunny area, knowing damn well that she has more durability under the sun that any of the eternals. And that she literally can heal herself.
The training continues, you show a formidable ability and capacity in the field. But all throughout, you feel heavy eyes on you; it’s like you can’t brush it off you. Until, out of the corner of your eyes they seem to be lured into a pair of golden brown orbs. And you notice a burning passion within them that you can’t stop staring. There is fire there and it burns through your mind. It was her following you with her gaze all along — sparkles, electricity and fire run through your body. The thought of being watched by her is exciting with a newfound sensation.
At this point you no longer care about the training, you just take a straight shot to Ajak noticing how she starts getting impatient in her place.
“I think we should take Ajak inside.” Sprite says never once losing her grasp on Ajak to offer support.
“Yeah, I think it’d be for the best.” Sersi replies.
“What’s going on?” You ask.
“Ajak is not-” Sersi begins but Ajak cuts her off.
“Nothing.” She responds, but her voice says otherwise.
“I’ll walk you inside.” You offer and they let you because you are stronger.
And both of you leave in a loud silence with you flushed close to her side to support her. And then she starts breathing hard, and you get slightly worried.
“Are you alrigh-“ Before you finish your question she presses against you so close you can feel her breath on you.
“Take me to my chambers right now.” She replies in a low whisper, and you feel warmth pool between your legs.
The moment you get to her chambers and close the door, both of you are drawn to each other like magnets. Your mouths join in a heated and passionate kiss, and you take your time to devour her as she does the same. You love the desperate whimpers that leave her and you need more of that. You make a trail of kisses down her neck; you nibble and kiss her salty skin with wet kisses as you make quick work to undress her. And it’s like you are so connected in your movement because she is undressing you too.
Your garments are soon disposed and remain laying on her floor. And on her rush to get to you she trips on your clothes and crashes onto you sending both of you flying to the bed. You love it because you notice she fits right in into your arms. It is like she belongs there and you appreciate having her there — which feels surreal. She takes a moment to compose herself, and for a moment you think she’ll pull away until she crashes her lips with yours once again. You love the sensation of her body flushed against you, and the way her hands roam every part of your exposed flesh she can grab. She starts to descend your shape with hot kisses, and down to your center.
She looks at you, and you know she is asking for permission. You roll your hips upwards to urge her to continue, and she dares to smirk. You magnificent and extremely religious leader dares to smirk before she devours you and latches onto your clit, parting your legs wider for better access. And you are on fire feeling every flick and slurp, how delicious the friction sends you to a white pure bliss. You feel her everywhere and you can’t stop staring at her, she looks like a goddess from between your legs. The way half her face disappears on you. You feel embarrassed with how fast she brings you to your climax, and how you scream out her name without shame. The trembling mess that you become in her bed, and the mess that you have created.
It takes you a moment to recover from your moment of pure pleasure, and you are now conscious of what just happened. She seems experienced, and it kind of makes you excited to discover this side of her. She licks you clean before taking her place on your side with a soft teasing smile. But this is not over, and you grab her by the wrist urging her to get on top of you. She is about to mount your hips when you pull her further up your body and onto your face. Her face flushes slightly; and then, she dares to smirk once again like she is about to give in to a child’s play. You grab her by the hips — and start with long and slow licks going down-up. She throws her head back and supports her hands on her legs that try not to squeeze your head.
Soon after, you pick up a quick pace before latching — with quick strokes of your tongue — to her clit. She moves her hips in circles and her breathing becomes rapid with pleasure. But you won’t stop there, and you take this opportunity to insert two digits inside of her. And she comes undone, she tries not to crush your neck under her weight, but you are still stronger and hold her in place as she rides her orgasm out. She falls limp to the side and lays there, you snuggle closer to her and kiss her bare back as she recovers.
“That was-”
“I know.” Ajak interrupts with a smirk.
You spend the rest of the afternoon in each other arms, and it feels normal and familiar. It feels like you’ve been here in another life.

Part 1
_ ✽ _
A week passes by and Ajak is not seen, you wait at the counter staring at strangers passing by but she never does. And you don’t want to admit the excitement you felt as someone in blue attire entered your shop, nor the painful disappointment when you noticed it wasn’t her. It makes you wonder what you did wrong, and you recount everything that happened during that night. Every day you think maybe it has to do with her family and late husband. Maybe she misses them and you were there showing off your perfect family. That’s why in this fine morning you are standing right outside of her house with your personal maid by your side. You are waiting for her to respond when you find yourself fixing your dress and shifting nervously on your feet, it leaves you confused for a moment. You let go of your thoughts as the door opens and she stands there frozen.
You give her an awkward smile as you lift up a basket. “I brought you some sweet bread.”
She stares at you for a moment before looking at your maid. She curtsies to Ajak, and the latter lets out a breath before moving aside and allowing you entrance. You feel some sort of hope and walk into the house. You are surprised to find it full of artifacts so different and intriguing, it seems old yet beautiful and welcoming. You have so many questions regarding her home, but you also have other questions that have been eating at you for a week. She leads you to a parlor, and the architecture is so colonial and Mexican. She gestures for you to sit, and you obey.
You stare at each other for some time, your maid not far from you. It feels like the walls have eyes on you once again, and it makes you nervous.
“I wanted to apologi-” You begin before being cut off by Ajak.
“No.” She says dryly, closing her eyes.
“I beg your pardon?”
“Don’t apologize.” She says as she opens her eyes slowly. “You did nothing wrong.”
“Then why did you leave?” You ask getting closer, and you hear someone shifting behind you; your maid. With a soft murmur you ask. “Why am I cruel?”
“I…” She begins to think of an answer but none come out.
“Well?”
“I can’t explain what happened. Would you like to take a walk in the garden?” She offers with a soft raise of her eyebrows signaling to your maid. She twirls her fan on her left hand meaning ‘We are being watched’.
And you feel guilty and like you are hiding something. So, you nod and allow her to guide you to her garden. You marvel at how big and beautiful it is, with tall cactus and thousands of flowers. You bent down to smell them as you pass them by, and once again you feel like a child. You notice how she makes you feel so comfortable and carefree. She watches closely as she seems pensive. Somewhere after five minutes of walking Ajak grabs you by the arm, and you feel cosmic energy surge through you. Your heart starts ponding fast and she pulls you closer before looking around.
“There’s thing I want to say to you, but it will be best if I let you leave.”
She is so close you feel your heart will burst, there is a fuzzy warm feeling building in your tummy and you are out of breath. You can’t help but admire her face noticing every single detail and pausing to stare at her lips. Unconsciously, you lick yours and feel her face getting closer only to realize it was you as she pulls away, but you won’t let go. You both stay out there for several seconds as you embrace her to keep her from running away, just staring at each other. Coming back to your senses you let her go and walk in comfortable silence before she kneels down to pick up some flowers. After rustling for a while between the flowers she stands up and hands you red gerberas. You stand there speechless; gerberas mean friendship and innocent… but in occasions they mean love. Ajak walks back into the direction of the house, as she leaves you too stunned to speak.
You stay a little longer and watch her work in the kitchen, you both have been quiet for some time but you enjoy the company and you know she does too even if she wants to fight it. Somewhere in the afternoon before dark you decide it is time to go home, so you stand behind her as she cleans. It makes you feel sad to think her lonely, no maids around as she insists on doing all the work. You clear your throat to catch her attention and you see her stop as she remains there not looking at you.
“I have to go.” You say softly.
Ajak feels your gaze burning through her back. “Alright.”
She turns around to look at you, and you get closer to bid your goodbyes. You want to give her something tender so she doesn’t feel lonely and you go to kiss her cheek, but you miscalculate because she turns around to say goodbye and you end up kissing the corner of her mouth. And once again you are filled with confusion, but you feel a magnetic connection with her that heats fuel inside of you consuming your senses. She is feeling the same thing, and it’s also written in your face how much you want to kiss her. You both move at the same time as your lips crash into a passionate kiss, both of your weights slamming against the table Ajak was working on and pushing it back as it slams into the wall. The sound is way too exciting and you feel Ajak pulling you close by the hips as you cradle her face in her hands, her kiss goes down your neck as fire is ablaze inside of you. But you pull away, flushed and heartbroken you look into her confused eyes only to see them break once again.
Tears begin to form in your eyes as you utter an apology. “I am sorry. I am so sorry.”
“Well, you only know how to be sorry.”
That stings.
“People would never allow it. They would never understand.”
“You don’t have to worry about that.” She says with pleading eyes.
“I have to go.” You say before running outside into the dark night.
Both of you weep that night, one loudly and the other quietly.
_ ✽ _
Ajak does pass by the store, but you no longer stand behind the counter. It is so painful to watch her by and not be able to run into her arms. Your husband has noticed the sadness that has consumed you, and you can’t even explain to him why you are like this. He wants to surprise you with an outing to an event in town, it’s not opera but a good singer will have a performance. One of the perks of being far from the war is that you still have freedom to enjoy moments like that. Mexico is huge compared to other places you have been and every region is different. You know he has the best intentions but you feel a heavy cloud on top of you, still you can’t refuse him. The evening is alive with a beautiful performance, you are able to meet coworkers of your husband and mingle for some time.
You begin to tire, so you decide to sit down and take a moment to gather more energy. After a few seconds you feel eyes on you, and you begin to panic before finding the most beautiful golden eyes staring right at you. There is pure adoration in her eyes, and she seems to be in better spirits than you as she sits there like a queen on a throne. An entire crowd stands in the middle of both of you keeping you divided, but you watch her as she lifts her fan and places it on top of her heart. Your heart starts racing as you know it means romance. It makes you excited to think about it, and you feel the cloud disappear as the room gets brighter and happier. She presents her fan shut as she asks if you love her. You don’t even think about it before drawing your fan across your cheek. The smile on her face is the most precious thing you have ever seen, her eyes shimmer with a beautiful glow.
She touches the tip of the fan ‘I wish to speak to you.’ And you look around the crowd, you look back at her and bite your lip feeling nervous. She carries her open fan in her left hand ‘Come and talk to me.’ That makes you feel the thrill of the rush for a moment before twirling the fan in your left hand remembering it means ‘we are being watched.’ She rolls her eyes playfully and you smile, and once again she carries her fan with her right hand in front of her face ‘follow me’. You swallow hard before fanning slowly ‘I am married.’ You watch her sigh and pout playfully before she opens and shuts her fan, and your heart drops to your stomach as you remember it means ‘you are cruel’. Quickly you let it rest on your left cheek saying no. She looks slightly disappointed, and she stands up from her seat before drawing her fan across her forehead ‘you have changed’; and she leaves. It leaves you back as you were before, sad and confused with thousands of questions only she can answer.
_ ✽ _
You can’t stop thinking about the meaning of ‘you have changed’. Which is exactly why you sneak out in the middle of the night after the performance and make your way to her state. As you walk under the pale moonlight with your heart in your hands the emotions inside of you swirl around making you feel anxious. You feel light headed but not in a bad way, you feel a lot of commotion happening inside of you and it feels like your heart will break free from your chest and take a run to Ajak’s home. Once you get there you find it completely dark, you are too terrified to leave and go back home. It takes you a moment to realize the soft light in one of the rooms. You knock gently on her door and wait, you keep waiting for some time until you know again and the door pushes open, this alarms you. Thinking something bad might have happened you enter with your heart pounding in your chest you can hear it in your ears.
You walk past the main hall and into the direction of the lit up room, and you almost get a heart attack when you find her standing there with her eyes closed. She seems to be asleep but standing, so you approach slowly still scared. With a shaky hand you poke her slightly, but she doesn’t respond and you are way too scared. You poke her once again this time harder, but nothing happens and you don’t know what to do. Suddenly, an orb appears in the middle of the air and you scream as you take several steps back. The orb disappears inside of Ajak’s chest and your brains crashes making you fall backwards. A movie plays in your head as you begin to feel way too familiar with your surroundings. You recognize the woman standing right in front of you and you let out a cry.
“Mrs. Garc-”
“No!”
“Please, let m-”
“No!”
You are still on the floor trying to collect yourself as tears rush down your face.
“Mrs. Garcia.”
And you summon your weapon leaving Ajak speechless. She tilts her head confused, waiting for a reaction from you. Many emotions are happening inside of her before she realizes and lets out a cry. And you both cry on the floor, it takes you a few minutes before you search for her embrace. You remember everything as you realize how you almost got yourself erased completely by unknown forces. Ajak still has a lot to explain, you don’t even remember the moments after it happened and how you pushed her away. You do remember now how she followed you to Spain. And you both weep embraced in the middle of the floor, in the middle of the night.
“For a moment… I thought it was mahd wy’ry.” You wince at the mention of the illness, sad memories come up. “But it was quite the opposite, you didn’t remember.” She sobs.
You look up to find her eyes, seeking comfort.
“I tried to heal you, and I followed you everywhere. I traveled around the world trying to find a cure, but I never found anything. It pained me to know you were out there not knowing who you were and living a lie. You were his and I was pissed, but I tried to stop it-” And she breaks out crying.
“I know. I know that now.” You hold onto her, as you let the memories sink in. At this point you just feel how much you missed her, and the weight of twenty years lost as you went on to be with somebody else. You are angry with yourself, and you just want to sink into her arms forever to make up for lost time. At the same time, you feel disgusted and like apologizing to Ajak.
“I am so so-”
“No.” She cuts you off and grabs your face before she presses her lips to yours in a heated and passionate kiss. You fit right into her arms and you press harder into her, the events of the other day coming up to you as you remember how much you wanted her. Still sitting you push her with your weight back into the wall behind her, and you feel desperate. You feel too clothed with everything you are wearing; you don’t need any of it. You pull desperately at her gown, quickly undressing her breasts and you moan at the sight of them. You pinch them slightly and it is Ajak’s turn to moan. You remember the carnal need when you almost had her over the table, and once again you launch at her capturing her lips.
But she is impatient, she has been craving you for years. She makes you stand up as she remains seated and you pull at your clothes unable to remove them, you let out a grunt as you become annoyed. She simply lifts your dress and pulls down your undergarments, you are dripping just thinking about what’s coming next. She doesn’t even give you a moment to compose when she ushers you into her waiting lips as she laps at your warm slit devouring you completely. You throw your head back and your legs become weak in pure bliss, she holds you up to add support. You are consumed in a delirious flame as you finally feel the rapture inside of you sending waves after waves of electricity, and you circle your hips as you ride out your orgasm using her lips and tongue.
You fall to your knees as you take a moment to feel the pleasurable aftermath, Ajak pulls you closer as she begins to plant wet kisses all over your face, neck and shoulders. It takes you a moment to catch your breath, you then proceed to go down as you make your way with a trail of kisses to her chest. You take one breast into your mouth, and you feel her harden as you suck slightly on it and lap it with your tongue. She groans and tangles one hand in your hair as she supports herself with her free one. You take your time savoring her and pleasuring her, you want to love her. You finally go down on her and hear her grunt and gasp as you finally bring her hot center into your mouth. The carnal way you take her is fervent, and the sounds she makes is music to your ears. Moments later she bites her lip trying to quiet her sound, and the only noise in the room is the wet sounds as you lap her slit and suck on her nub. After some time, she cries out as her muscles spam and she becomes a sensual mess.
You lay on top of her and remain on the floor for a few minutes as you both catch your breath and come down from your high. Somewhere during the night after you both clean up you snuggle in her bed. You think about everything that happened during those twenty years, and she thinks about the present. You hide your face on the side of her chest.
“What are we going to do now?” You ask, thinking about how terrible it is that you have a husband. You grimace.
She rubs your back to soothe you. “We can go anywhere; I know a place in the states.”
“I would love to start somewhere else, yes.” You smile softly at the thought of being with Ajak once again and forever.
She is drifting into sleep when you remember.
“It will last longer than you think? Really?”
“Oh, celestials.” She whines with a shaky breath.
“Like, are you for real?” You laugh as you earn a playful smack. “Who is cruel now?”
Ajak groans covering her ears.
“So, you have nine children?” You giggle. “What would Druig think of that? Is Sprite like your youngest? What does that make Thena?”
“Shh.”
Ajak presses a pillow to your head and only your muffled laugh is heard. She smiles softly before throwing the pillow and pulling you closer to kiss you. This night both of you laugh and kiss, trying to remember and trying to forget as your dreamed future comes closer. Somewhere in the afternoon of the next day the local news lies about two women being abducted by insurgents during the night, arranged by a very powerful prime eternal.

Part 2
_ ✽ _
The salty air of the sea hits Ajak with some nostalgia as she returns to the states from her trips to Europe. Conflict has been rising for a few years now with the people from the New Spain trying to overthrow the Spanish hold on their lands, so it was safer to enter the land through the states and go south to actually set on the north in Sonora. The trip was long, exhausting, and emotionally draining. The heat of the arid desert like lands was noticeable as it shimmered in her skin forming beads of sweat over her upper lip and forehead. The arrival felt heavy and the house haunted with memories. The state extended further and the farm was rich with several habitants. Living among the humans was no longer strange, in fact she had been discovering amazing things about them.
Before entering the house Ajak takes a moment to look around the place. Many years ago she had called this place home and the garden that is flourishing had once been her major pride. She could almost remember the figure that used to kneel every morning to smell the flowers, the same figure that now caused her the most pain. So, she closes her eyes and takes a moment to recover herself from the painful past. The first week goes by in deep silence, with only the companion that a farm can offer.
By the second week Ajak has to go into town as she needs supplies for her state, and she is guilty of still spying on human’s development. She admires for quite some time trying to blend into the crowds as a human would do. The prices are high for basic necessities such as food as a result of the ongoing war. The prime eternal is observing the conditions of every person in that place when her space is invaded by a woman in attire not from this region, her hair is braided; she is a maid from Spain. She curtsies and offers a letter.
“The family Garcia would like to welcome you as they have noticed you are a neighbor of their state. Please accept this formal invitation to dine with the family; owners of the bakery Garcia and members of the presidency.”
Ajak accepts the invitation as she takes it in her hand, she is not used to this type of formalities in this region since it still is under development. Must have been a side effect of the conflict. Ajak offers a smile to the still waiting woman in front of her, and nods once. She knows all eyes are on her and her presence is noticeable in such a small land. She is the mysterious woman that arrived last week, and news travel fast. It’s almost as if they forgot she was here 20 years ago, as if they had forgotten the day she sailed to Spain with a broken heart looking to collect the pieces.
“I would like to know where this bakery is located.”
“This way, ma’am.” And the young braided woman leads her to a very fine looking bakery around the corner, the smell is so delicious it almost reminds her of the cakes she feasted on in her travels through Europe.
The maid leads Ajak to a parlor within the store, which is different to the architecture she got used to in England. It still has decorum and elegance, but she notices the radiant vibrant colors and happiness with the beautiful native flowers with the most exquisite smell.
“She is in the backroom. If you’d like to wait here and I’ll-”
“No, I’m here.”
That voice. Ajak’s head snaps towards the sound of your voice as you enter the place. Time stops still for the prime eternal; breath is no longer an ability she possesses. You notice how her gaze falters, and she looks deeply afflict. And then, in a moment it is gone. You hold her gaze for a few seconds and wonder how much of the ongoing war she has seen.
“Pleased to make your acquaintance, Mrs. Ajak. I am Y/N de Garcia.” You curtsy knowing she comes from somewhere in Europe, the blue dress with golden embroidery gave her away as soon as you saw her. You already know her name because she actually owns her state.
You notice the long pause she takes to respond; you worry she doesn’t speak Spanish at all or she is confused as where you learned her name. She looks deep into your eyes trying to find something there, to find a miracle.
“The pleasure is all mine.” She returns the gesture after several seconds with a pained expression.
“My husband will be here at noon. He is working at the presidency; it has been busy due to... ongoing events”
“R-right. These uh, these are difficult times.” She nods and sets her gaze on the floor. “I-“
“You-“
You both blush having spoken at the same time.
“Apologies. Please, go ahead.” You offer a smile.
“No, the fault was mine.” There she goes again with the pained expression.
She clears her voice and composes her posture as you signal for her to sit down. She sits and you notice how she keeps looking down, and then she does it again: she gathers strength from somewhere deep within herself. You have only been to Spain and France with your husband, so you imagine England is quite different.
She looks up and holds your gaze. “Well, I had never seen a bakery in this area before. I left to…uh, Europe around twenty years ago.”
“Oh!” You widen your eyes in surprise and straighten your pose on the edge of the seat, putting all of your attention into the conversation. “I left to Spain twenty years ago too!” Falling back into your seat you apologize. “I apologize, I got a little excited.”
“No.” Ajak says softly with a smile all tender, her eyes shimmer with adoration as she looks at you. “It’s alright.” She bites her lip as she looks down, then a shadow passes over her façade and darkness takes over. “Your husband. Is he from Spain?”
You nod and close your eyes for a few moments with a delicate smile.
“I met him here, actually. I, well, that’s a story for another day. Would you like to try some sweet bread and cake?” You offer extending your hand and signaling for her to go on as you guide her to the kitchen.
“So.” You begin as you present her first with your special sweet corn bread. “Your husband?” You ask with a cheeky smile.
Ajak takes a surprised breath as she suppresses a gasp with her gaze fixated on the bread in front of her. “Well, you see… that’s… quite complicated since my… husband had a terrible accident many years ago. And well,” You notice how her voice begins to break as tears threaten to form in her eyes, and you reach out for her hand to offer some sympathy.
“I am so sorry for your loss.” And as you touch her hand electricity shoots from her hand right into yours. “Oh.” You utter a little wide eyed. “I am so sorry; must be the weather.”
Ajak stares at you for some time and you feel intimidated under her gaze. Feeling guilty for the static shock you try to pull away but she won’t let go. You begin to worry you did something wrong.
Then she seems to snap out of it. “I-” She lets go. “Apologies, it is hard to talk about it.”
“I suppose you inherited riches, dare I go ahead and assume. You must be an accomplished woman.”
“I am a healer.” She says without adding more information.
“Oh?”
“Yes.”
You had never met a woman healer. The women in your husband’s family were only there to attend their husbands and children, but healing was a man’s job.
“I help women during childbirth, and other things. Practiced in Egypt.”
“Ah.” You reply trying not to sound ignorant with your lack of knowledge in that field.
“Is this your bakery?” She asks almost daring.
“No. This is my husband’s bakery. It is originally from Spain and it is called ‘La Flor’ (the flower).”
Ajak clenches her jaw for a moment as she seems pensive, there is fire in her eyes and it makes you feel more intrigued about her.
“He also works at the presidency?” She asks.
“Well, part of his distant family belong to the Spanish royalty. He still has some influences. The bakery was just an extension to… keep me occupied.” You look down afraid to have shared too much information.
Ajak changes the subject and you spend part of the evening talking before it is time to go home. Just as she is about to leave your husband walks through the bakery’s front door and goes directly to the kitchen in your search. As soon as he enters you rush into his arms and welcome him with a passionate kiss.
That catches Ajak off guard, and she feels herself breaking from the inside as if her entire self will crumble to pieces yet again. She knows she will cry and at the same time she feels a bitterness within her core so strange and new to her. And once again, the feeling of that short cut spring of being left somewhere in the middle. The palms of her hands begin to tingle, as her cosmic energy threatens to escape to heal her throbbing heart. But she doesn’t look like so, and in fact she clears her throat and speaks directly to the maid.
“If you don’t mind, would you be so kind as to see me to the exit? I’d love to get home before dark.”
The maid nods and curtsies to you and your husband before leading Ajak to the exit. You are too busy to pay attention, Ajak notices with an agonizing ache in her heart. And as soon as the maid bids her goodbyes with a curtsy and closes the door, the eternal crumbles to the floor as she supports her fall sliding down the door. But she won’t cry, not yet. It takes her a moment to collect herself, and she knows she has to be her very best self to remain sane.
Ajak returns home to find it more empty, more alone and lonely. The invasive silvery night that intrudes through her window seems colder and crueler. And she weeps into her pillow, with the promise to gather back her strength to go on.
_ ✽ _
And Ajak passes the bakery for several weeks with nothing more but a soft wave of her hand when you do catch her attention. She doesn’t ever enter; for she knows the pain is too unbearable; for she knows she will be impulsive; for she fears what she will find. Unaware of this, you want to apologize for your lack of manners the day you met. To do so, one fine morning you bake her a special cake with a recipe you learned in France. You are waiting for your maids to inform you when she passes by as you believe it would be better to invite her in yourself.
It was still early, a little before midday when the maids came into the parlor to let you know of Ajak’s presence in the market. You fix your dress and look at yourself in the mirror your keep there and rush outside with quick steps as your maids cheer you on to hurry up. You dart out the store and almost run into Ajak as she picks up some fruit. She closes her eyes and lets out a surprised ‘oh’ as she prepares for the crash that never comes.
You stop your quick pace right in front of her with your brightest smile. Slowly, she opens one eye and sighs in relief as she sees your standing there. Her heart is pounding and she doesn’t know if it is because the scare you gave her or because you are standing right in front of her. It confuses her, and pains her to believe you might have gotten in touch with who you are. It would kill her to dare to dream too far. So, she just tilts her head to the side waiting for an explanation.
“I baked you a cake!” You blurt out unable to hold your excitement. “No, wait I ruined the surprise! I was supposed to invite you in and surprise you.” You look away as you recall the plan lost in thought.
“I am… surprised. Believe me.”
Ajak’s voice brings back your attention, and you offer her your best smile as you reach for her hands. And you feel it again; electricity shoots through your palms and you let it in. It stays with a warm pleasant tug like something inside of you wants to respond to it. You quickly let go a little confused.
“I-” You begin to form an apology, even if you are still confused.
“Shall-” Ajak begins trying to collect her thoughts, her expression neutral and unreadable. “Shall we go inside and try the cake.”
“Oh, no. It is all yours.” Your smile returns forgetting what just happened. “You must have a family, I forgot to ask the other day.” You usher her inside excitedly.
“My family… is not here with me.”
You gasp. “Did they stay in England?”
“Something like that, yes.”
She sets her attention elsewhere as she looks around the bakery before looking at the waiting maids with their little presentation of the cake at the counter. Ajak’s eye light up at the sight of it, and you can’t help but melt a little. It also makes you feel excited because you don’t have any friends here. You move to the counter and turn the cake around in its stand for Ajak to see the details you added.
“Oh, Mrs. Garcia. You didn’t have to.” She marvels at the cake.
“Oh, it’s no problem. I just really wanted to apologize for the other day. It was really rude of me to let you go without saying goodbye. I hope you can forgive me for my lack of manners.” You give her an eye smile before dropping your fan knowing it means ‘I want to be friends’.
Tenderness forms in Ajak’s eyes as she smiles at you, she nods her head once. She takes hers out and lets it rest on the right cheek meaning ‘yes’. You heart swells with happiness before reaching out for her without touching her. You are so excited to have a friend here, it would be less lonely in the evenings.
Ajak convinces you of sharing the cake and both of you spend part of the day just talking, getting to know each other. You find out Ajak has traveled to many places in the world, something that truly surprises and amazes you. While you are sitting there at your parlor, drinking tea and eating cake you feel like a child learning about things you never heard of. You listen attentively focusing on the amazing stories she has to tell; she is a good story teller which starts to eat at your head as you try to remember another story teller, but you never do.
Somewhere before noon your husband arrives ever so formal, ever so happy. Ajak places her cup of tea on the coffee table as she stands, you don’t forget her this time as your husband embraces you and you pull slightly away. Still, you have the happiest smile and it makes her bitter in green fog as those smiles seem familiar, way too familiar. She looks down, and you feel a pang in your heart for some reason. You also remember she lost her husband, so you smile at yours and gesture to Ajak.
“Darling, this is Mrs. Ajak; she is our neighbor. Mrs. Ajak, may I present my husband Mr. Alfonso Garcia.”
Every so politely they greet each other.
“Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Ajak.” He looks at his wife. “You see? She accepted.” And they both share a secret smile.
“Likewise.” She says nothing else.
Ajak feels once again that bitterness with the green taint. Anger and doubts consume her, and she keeps her gaze elsewhere. She knows her eyes hold so much power, for her eyes and only her eyes in the entire world look at the celestials. She starts to fidget the fan in her hands, and starts to formulate an excuse to leave.
“Apologies-” She begins but is cut off but your husband.
“Join us for dinner. We have a pending invitation, we never truly set any details.”
He seems like a nice person, Ajak almost feels sorry. She is about to decline when you give her puppy eyes hoping she’d stay. And this is the moment you start to notice that you are seeing her in a different way, and innocently you assume it is friendship. You see her debate something as she furrows her eyebrows and her sullen eyes get lost under the long eyelashes, and you pout.
“Alright. I will stay. Thank you.” She offers a soft smile that doesn’t truly reach her eyes.
Being there is insufferable for Ajak, it’s not that the man won’t shut up but the fact that even when he chats the night away he is still all over you. She makes small talk, a few comments and answering awkward questions about family. Now you and your husband find out about her nine children that live in different parts of the world, something that truly amuses both of you; how well traveled she is.
“Well, I am a healer.” Ajak says as the conversations leads to this revelation. “I am a good one and I have attended many women and children over the years.”
“Maybe you’d be able to assist us when we finally conceive our first child.”
You blush and cover your face with your fan a little embarrassed. But when you look at Ajak she looks like she just saw a ghost. Your husband continues talking about whatever, and doesn’t notice how your eyes widen slightly as you stare at Ajak waiting for a signal of emotion. There are shadows of darkness swirling around her already dark orbs. She proceeds to stare right into your eyes and you almost want to cry as you see pain reflected in them. Then she opens and shuts her fan only for you to see, and your heart drops as you know it means ‘You are cruel’.
“Apologies, Mr. Alfonso Garcia. I must depart to my state, I forgot I had business to attend over there.”
“Oh,” Your husband says slightly taken aback. “Of course, it was improvised.”
Tears begin to form in your eyes, but you try your best to hide them as you nod to your husband.
“I will see her out.” You offer.
He notices the serious atmosphere and nods, he doesn’t think any of it and bids his goodbyes to Ajak. Her silence is painful, and you feel your heart pounding in your heart. Suddenly, the walls seem to have eyes. You lead her to the front of the store, and she keeps on walking. You are about to call out for her when she stops and turns around. She has a neutral expression that caresses your mind. She turns around and you feel your heart break for her, there are tears in her eyes. You don’t understand what it all means.
“It would be best if we stop seeing each other.” She says.
“Mrs. Ajak, I don’t understand.”
“It would be best if you don’t.” She replies. “Have a good life. It will last longer than you think.”
And without anything else to say she disappears into the night. It breaks something inside of you, but you do your best to hide it. That same night you weep into your pillow, as silently and quiet as you can.

Part 2 Part 3
_ ✽ _
You are not supposed to see Ajak today, she told you she needed to do something important and that Ikaris would be accompanying her. You still go to see her before they leave, you can’t help it. Especially when you live so close to her place and really want to say goodbye, you don’t know how long she’ll be gone. Your feelings towards Ikaris are complicated, you never told Ajak, but seeing Sersi so broken for centuries really left some thorns inside you. She is confused when she sees you pull up right before they left, rolling down the window you give her a soft smile before she nods with her head. You step out the car without a glance to Ikaris, you don’t know how to approach him and you don’t want to.
“We weren’t expecting company.” Ikaris says. “I thought we would be traveling alone.” He talks with that monotone voice of his, but you can tell there is something strange about him. Yet, you have not seen him since he left Sersi, and you don’t know what to think of it. You hold a hand up signaling him to shut up, something that can be interpreted as rude and as understanding. Not even a hello… you haven’t seen each other in centuries.
Putting your attention on Ajak you press your lips into a thin line, now you are feeling awkward in his presence. “Do you have everything you need? Will he fly you there… or?”
“What is this? A questioning?” Ikaris asks, you can see him clenching his jaw. “Does she know?”
“Ikaris.” Ajak warns with a soft tone, like a mother would do. You hate it when she acts like that with him. She keeps her eyes on you as she speaks, approaching you with quick steps. “You have nothing to worry about.” For a moment you are not sure if she is talking to you or him. “Everything will be fine.”
You nod, of course you trust her, she is more calculating and careful than you anyway. You sigh and frown. “I just wanted to see you before you left. I wanted to say goodbye. I’ll miss you.”
She smiles and closes her eyes, she places a hand on your chest. “You are worried; I can feel it.”
“Text me when you get there? Wherever you are going.” You talk in that tone reserved only for her. You don’t care how confused Ikaris might be. She locks you in a hug, her mistake because now you won’t let go.
“I promise.” And she doesn’t look mad at all, you thought she wouldn’t approve of you showing up after she told you not to. And you pull away to offer her a smile that doesn’t reach your eyes before turning away to leave.
_ ✽ _
Somewhere on your way back home, as you are unnecessarily driving, you get an urging and restless thought that something is not right. You can’t get Ikaris’ glazy and cold stare out your mind, and you can’t figure out why. You know you have seen that look before, and it says danger… you just can’t remember why or you don’t want it to be like that. You start shifting on your seat, but the thought won’t leave your mind. You notice you are not even fully focused on the road, and you are only driving by memory of your body.
Sersi once told you to trust your instinct because out of them all yours was always on point. She said so after you predicted a swarm of deviants after having a bad feeling for days, your warning was not overlooked and you were able to protect the humans. Thena once said that you were gifted by Arishem with an extra ability that allowed you to foresee disaster and tragedy. Now you feel alarmed, and it is starting to consume you inside. But you still make it home, expecting to see Ajak’s message at any moment, she wouldn’t forget.
Somewhere during the night, you lay still awake thinking of Ajak. It feels like you have been on a trance ever since she left. So, when you got that notification on your phone you quickly opened it and found yourself finally breathing of relief seeing a message from her.
Today
Wifey: We arrived an hour ago. I’m settled for the night.
You: Will you be able to message me throughout the day?
No response, you want to sleep your worries off and close your eyes. Somewhere before dawn you get a new sense of alert that jolts you out of the bed. You don’t know what it means, but you need to find Ajak. You have no idea where she went, but you are so glad she kept her promise and messaged you. You are easily able to track her phone down, and you feel some sort of hope.
You are not as fast as Makkari, but you have the ability of speed. Just like Ikaris has more than one power, you do too. And you take off as fast as you can, tracking down the woman you love. Your leader. The feeling of danger never once leaving your body. It took you an hour to reach her, and when you did he had her cornered down to a hill. A frozen lake to her back, and white coating everywhere.
You hide behind a tree, the cold around you burns and all the white is blinding. You can’t hear them talking, but you can see her face and it almost breaks you to see her close to tears… and she embraces him? You are confused, but you don’t even have a time to react nor process what’s happening because he has just pushed her off the cliff. You scream and tears rush down your cheeks, and he turns to look at you with lasers shooting off his eyes. You hide your figure behind the tree, but you want to see her first. You take off after Ajak, you need to make sure she is okay and that you both can make it out of here.
You don’t expect to find her fighting off deviants, many of them, they are coming from everywhere and you quickly gain their attention as you crash into the ice landing on your feet. With the distraction you created, Ajak launches her body to grab a shotgun and she starts firing. You are so confused; the deviants were killed off a long time ago during that night. The deviants return their attention to her and they launch with claws and sharp teeth out, you speed off and start throwing them off of her. Using your replication, which is your main power, you are able to be everywhere.
You feel a hard blow on your back, and Ajak screams. As you turn around on the ground you see him floating and shooting lasers at your replicas. You groan in pain, and then you notice the biggest deviant you’ve ever seen emerge from the cave. You try to get up, but when you do the deviant has taken a hold of Ajak. You try to take a straight run to get to her, but Ikaris keeps aiming his lasers at you. Your replicas are trying to barricade your run, but he is quick and you have to evade.
You see something strange happening as the monster has struck Ajak with some sort of tentacles. And you scream, and you cry, and at this point you are taking Ikaris blasts without losing your balance. And you throw yourself at the deviant making it crash right back into the cave. Ajak is thrown into the frozen ground, and Ikaris is at your tail. You rush to help her, your replicas jump to barricade both of you, and you sigh of relief as you see her healing herself. Something seems to shift inside of you, finally taking in that Ikaris has betrayed both of you. You don’t understand why he is doing it, but you feel rage. The deviants are still there, and you have only managed to go around them and slam them around. You are not like Thena or Kingo, and you are not as strong as Gilgamesh, nor as fast as Makkari, but you know you can escape this.
Ikaris is such a coward, he won’t come down from his place above the ground. And while you are distracted watching him, thinking of a way to escape, you hear gunshots. You turn to look at Ajak and you find her firing at Ikaris. You can’t believe what you see, but you know she won’t hurt him because she has missed on purpose every single shot. And he takes off, like the coward he is. She finally looks at you, and her hair is all messy, she has blood in her thorn shirt, and she looks mentally exhausted. “Let’s get out of here.” You don’t hesitate to throw her into your back and take off at full speed, some replicas following you and some retaining the deviants.
You don’t take her back to the hotel, and you don’t take her back to your home. You only stop in the middle of nowhere in a very dark green forest knowing you both are safe now. Replicas withdrawing back into one within you. Neither of you say anything, the feeling of stopping feels strange as you both were in a high rush. Your skin feels electric and magnetic, and you start crying as you both embrace. “Ajak, what happened? W-Why?” You pull away to look at her, you want to make sure she is okay and alive. She looks like she’s been crying, of course she has, she was almost murdered by her golden boy. “I want to understand why.” But she remains quiet, only crying and holding tight against your body.
It takes a moment for her to compose, and when she does there is that look you have not seen in centuries. That look that tells you she is your leader and it reminds you of your mission in this planet, she feels so distant like that.
“We need to find the others. We need to talk.”
