some people say medic tf2 would be a good father while others say he would be a terrible father but i strongly believe he would have a morticia addams style approach when it comes to parenting.

all of his children end up being frighteningly intelligent little hellspawns whose idea of playtime is terrorizing each other and everyone else around them while medic just enables their behaviour like in this scene where wednesday electrocutes pugsley.

merc sleeping headcanons

actually these are canon i watch them sleep

spy ▪︎ does not snore. or make any noise whatsoever. or move. he looks like a corpse when he sleeps aside from the very very subtle rise and fall of his chest. and he cannot fall asleep unless he's wrapped in 4,000 dollar silk sheets. he's also a very light sleeper and shoots up everytime the base groans or creaks.

scout ▪︎ snores suprisingly disruptively! still being obnoxious even in the clutches of slumber! he also fidgets like crazy, tosses and turns, and twists into the most ridiculous positions. he wakes up half-hanging off the bed with his blankets scattered on the floor most days.

medic ▪︎ also sleeps very corpse-like, but his breathing is more audible. he does NOT like going to bed and very frequently passes out on his desk. definitely has terrible insomnia he refuses to treat or acknowledge.

engineer ▪︎ also a workbench passer-outer, but instead of insomnia he's just the worst workaholic ever. and he snores like crazy. he'll usually wake up and just get right back to what he was working on like nothing happened.

soldier ▪︎ an incredibly active sleeper like scout. he's usually bear hugging something throughout the night whether it be zhanna, a pillow, or a giant teddy bear pyro gifted. death grip. you cannot escape it. he snores AND drools. bro sleeps like a dog having a bad dream

pyro ▪︎ nobody sees this thing sleep. the rare times it's witnessed, she's all curled up like a cat on the floor of her room with a stuffed animal. its unsure if they're actually sleeping however, because they do it so lightly that they immediately wake up if someone even glances at them, and the mask obviously obscures their face.

heavy ▪︎ sleeps like a fucking log, on his back, completely motionless. you can't wake this guy up. he'd sleep through a nuclear disaster. he has a snore that shakes the walls. he also has a very extensive nightly routine which involves checking on medic and taking him to bed if needed.

sniper ▪︎ his back is all messed up because he falls alseep just about anywhere. he can be in the most uncomfortable position you've ever seen just having a little cat nap. he's a very light sleeper though, so he wakes just as easily as he dozes off. his sleep schedule is so fucked he's surviving on coffee and willpower.

demo ▪︎ he also has a habit of passing out in random locations, usually from drunkenness. the other mercs find him in all kinds of wacky fucking places around the base just honk mimimi-ing away and have to drag him to his room. even when he's sober that day, he does rely on alcohol to go to sleep. it's not healthy.

Mercs + Pauling w/ reader w/ Schizophrenia (headcannons)

(Platonic or romantic!)

Pauling:

- will have some guilt about how she works all the time and can’t be there for you

- might send some gifts and call you in between jobs/travel, asking how you’ve been, asking if now was a good time or if you needed a distraction

- as soon as she gets the chance to come see you, she takes it

- asks over and over if you’re okay, because it’s been keeping her anxious on her jobs

- she’ll comfort you with sweet words over the phone if you call her for help

- reminds you to take your meds

Scout:

- absolutely clueless

- buys into stereotypes

- “the voices” type shit

- this guy is gonna need a thorough explanation as to how you feel all the time

- probably asks you how you’re feeling all the time too

- might be a little too quick to do his sneak-attack hugs

- likes hugging you a lot, so that could offer some grounding if you’re having delusions/hallucinations

- words of affirmation 10/10

- expect a lot of words…

Soldier:

- clueless prick

- thinks you’re some spy or something

- it might take the entirety of the team to convince him otherwise and try to explain it to him with your help

- might also buy into the stereotypes

- if you say you hear or see something that man is going to run around screaming with his shovel trying to chase them off for you (believes they’re real, but only you have magic powers to see them or something)

Medic:

- #1 meds administer

- does not buy into stereotypes, since he may know something about it

- (fw researching you heavy)

- dude is taking notes as you’re straight up not having it

- jk he goes to comfort you if he can after a bit

- you WILL be staying in the infirmary with him (sorry I don’t make the rules)

- will look into techniques to help you

Demo:

- you already know he’s offering alcohol to take the edge off/distract

- you have tried many times to tell him that that will not work

- if you had alcohol with your meds things would not end well

- offers himself as a napping space for being really exhausted (I’d take him up on that)

- he might already be passed out when you go to ask if you two can nap

- might wanna just scootch in there

Heavy:

- will protect you from the bad things (or at least try)

- if someone hurt pookie that’s no good it will not do

- offers protective bear hugs if you need something/somewhere/someone to cuddle up to and be distracted/grounded

Pyro:

- if you’re describing what you see to them, or have in the past, they might try to draw them with good old fashioned crayons and printer paper

- also schizophrenic 😭

- huge empathy from them

- but uhm they might also just straight up not know they’re schizophrenic, so bro could just be like “same”

- alright enough Gen z talk from me (there can never be enough)

- even if just hanging out with them makes you feel more comfortable

Sniper:

- probably feels bad for you

- opts to hang out indoors if hallucinations/delusions are not fun outside

- comforts you when you think you see or hear something

Spy:

- if he’s attempting to be subtle you might expect some noise cancelling headphones and other helpful tools show up at your door

- if you need a break from certain rooms he’s definitely gonna offer his smoking room

- gets you pill organizers for your meds if that’s something you struggle with

- offers lots of gentle comfort

- let’s be honest, this guy was clueless before you started talking to him about it and what it was

- now he just wants to offer help

Engie:

- probably pities you a bit

- gives you that Texan hospitality but may take a bit to understand you better

- will 10/10 make you something if there’s something he can make to help and if it’s possible

- gonna try everything in his power to make your life easier

"Don't go please"

A/N: I'm back from the death. Don't worry pookie I've got you.

Characters: Scout, Sniper, Medic

Info: Gender Neutral Reader. Romantic.

Scout:

I was going to say that he's exaclty the same. However, we all know that this man canno be still while sleeping. He doesn't do it on purpose of course, he is just naturally energetic, so he does in unconsciuly.

He goes to sleep with you between his arms and always thinks to himself: "I won't kick them out of the bed tonight." Only to wake up with you, still asleep, grasping his ankle for dear life at the edge of the bed.

If he wakes up before you, he embraces you and he waits for you to open your eyes to tell you that he held you all the night. Of course, you two have a job to do, and a Soldier out of your room's door screaming for you to 'get your asses up'. Surprisingly, he's the one to get up first, after trying to free himself from your hold.

"Alright, toots, it's time to get up..." he says as he leaves sofy little kisses all over your face.

Sniper:

It may not seem like it, but the moment he feel sconfident and comfortable with you and the relationship, he's exactly the same. i know that I always say it, but I will die on this hill: He's your wet cat man!!

He doesn't move while sleeping, he's usually very calm. There are times that you think he's dead because you can't hear his breathing. However the slight squeeze you receive when you move tells you that he's alive (thank god).

You two always arrive to breakfast late, because those '5 more minutes' become in 10, then 20, 30... Soldier has given up already.

He likes to feel your warmth and smell your unique scent. His tensed up muscles relax whenever he feels you near him, and more if you touch are touching him, even if you two are just locking pinkies togheter.

Whenever you don't let him get up from the bed, he just accepts his defeat and lets you wrap yourself around him. You remind him of a koala to be honest.

Medic:

Everyone thinks that he doesn't sleep...Honestly, I just think that he's the type of person that tells you to go to sleep early but he goes to bed at like 4 am or around that hour. Like he always tells you: "Y/N, you must go to bed early! Your body needs a minimum of 8 hours of sleep. Now go to bed, I will be with you sooner than you think."

Liar.

Even knowing that you are fast asleep and very comfortable in your shared bed he always wakes you up, telling you something really weird about his new experiment. "Do you want to see Scout's liver with legs?" He will ask you with a eager smile. Of course, he will drag you to his laboratory.

Everytime you hold his hand while you rub your eyes with the other. he's so happy to show you new things that he doesn't realize until later that you had been waiting for him. As an apology, he lets you hug him while you sleep. Then in the morning when Soldier knocks on your door he 'politely' tells him to shut up, and manipulates him into thinking that you need to have 8 hours of sleep to be fully focused on that day's battle. So he believes it and lets you sleep.

He's your silly mad scientist.
