In the beginning, I imagine my version of Super lashing out a lot. Sonic's aware something is wrong with his super form, but not to its full extent of straight up sentience. What he- and by extension his friends- know, is that Sonic would remember less and less each time he went Super, and that last time he did he blacked out completely. Who's to say this isn't a ploy of some villain? Well, guess Sonic should try and not use his super form if he can help it, at least until they figure it out.

Meanwhile, Super becomes more aware of all the time in-between. When Sonic is running about, and he's left alone to just... wait. Super shares Sonics ideals about freedom, and it makes him outright enraged that Sonic of all people is denying him said freedom? When all he's ever done is save the day?

Suffice to say, the next time he manages to come out, he's a little mad (sarcasm). Doesn't help that he ends up tossing Knuckles & Amy around a bit, and their his friends (he remembers being Sonic he remembers being friends with them-) but he was just so angry and they were in the way, but now they look at him so wrong.

They get there eventually, down the line but it's... A process. A long process, that's for sure.

I think my favourite is this scene where he didn't want to fight Sonic even though Sonic wanted to. We know that Knuckles could've easily hurt Sonic but he didn't want to hurt his bro.

Knuckles loves his family so much I just can't... He's such a good big brother ❤️💙💛
