It is very hard for me to change oc designs for some reason but i had a great idea for one and it actually is motivating me to figure out how to draw him
#hes uh#literally my oldest oc that i still claim#HE WAS REALLY FORMATIVE FOR ME#i would not be the person i am today w/o him#and yet#i never talk about him#hes super important to me#hes a human oc which is why i havent drawn him since highschool fjdbsnnensns#i have only drawn like 1 other human oc like ever#not counting a couple newer ocs where i had a really good art day and went wild#orc lady with a giant gator like dragon companion!!! i love her sm#anyways im running off of 3 hours of sleep and rambling#im so excited for this design change it works SO WELL#guy in his late 40s who was an adventurer in his youth before having twins and adopting his niece#best way to describe him is hes thick and burly. he used to just be man shaped#i do not understand humans and i DEFINITELY do not understand men so i had no idea what to do with him#hes gotten a little fat but he could still easily fight and is still super strong#teaches his kids how to use a sword from a young age#his sons and niece go off to be adventures too#but with different outcomes. the twins just have fun on the road the niece ends up being the chosen one or w/e#i want to talk about them so much but every time i talk about my ocs in depth i second guess everything and scrap it all#actually have 2 ocs i drew and thought about constantly and once i talked about their story i just#never drew them again#no longer had the passion

Chain x Murica! Reader
Y/N brought a gun to a sword fight. It goes pretty well. Until the boys start asking questions... (I wrote this at 3 AM while high on Nyquil. I don't even know what's happening in this one anymore. Read at your own risk.)
You had fallen into a world of fantasy. Large monsters lurked in abandoned dungeons brimming with treasure. Sword-weilding heroes defeated evil dragons and saved princesses. Honestly, you’re not sure how you’ve survived this long traveling with a band of heroes, apparently gathered from across time and space to face the greatest threat this world has ever encountered.
Knowing your inexperience in battle, they had tried to keep you away from the fighting. But they were occupied now.
You hold your weapon out in front of you, staring down the giant creature that had attacked your group. Some of them called it a Lynel. Whatever it was, it was bad news. Besides the fact that it looked like a nasty lovechild between a lion and a horse, it had already knocked some of the others away with the giant, hammer-like sword it wielded.
You took a deep breath.
The shot rang out in the clearing, the beast suddenly falling to the ground. The sounds of battle were replaced with a still, eerie silence.
Oh, yeah. That was how you survived. #secondammendment, baby!
You lower your pistol, looking around at your companions, most of whom were staring at you, jaws hanging open.
“You guys okay?” You asked, noticing the various scrapes and bruises most of them had.
“Y/N. What in Farore’s name was that?” Warriors stares at the gun in your hand like it’s going to suddenly jump out and bite him.
“Was that a spell?” Hyrule peers curiously at you from where he’s kneeling, his hands glowing as he tries to heal Wild. Knowing Wild, he’d probably missed a backflip during the fight and gotten his ribs shattered. Again.
“Uhh, no? It’s a gun.” You motion to the gun in your hand. “Do you guys not have guns in this world?”
“What’s a gun?” Wind pipes up, suddenly at your elbow. He leans forward, trying to get a better view of your weapon.
“I thought you were a pirate? Don’t pirates have pistols?” You raise an eyebrow at the young boy. He makes a confused face.
“Pirates use swords. And canons,” he explains.
“Then think of this like a small canon. There’s a tiny explosion that shoots a piece of metal super fast.” You trace your finger down the barrel, showing the path of the bullet out of the gun.
“How did you get a canon this small?” Four is suddenly standing at your other elbow, examining the gun with a confused look. You could practically see the gears turning in his head, trying to make sense of the device.
“Beats me, man.” You shrug.
“Wait, how can you not know how your own weapon works?” Legend scoffs, crossing his arms in annoyance. You simply shrug again.
“It’s not like they teach us about it. Heck, schools don’t even let kids pretend to play with guns.” You roll your eyes in annoyance. “When we played cops and robbers on the playground, we got detention for pretending to shoot each other.”
“That doesn’t seem very fair.” Sky furrows his eyebrows. “Swordfighting was practically encouraged at my school.”
“Well, people have used guns for mass shootings. Lots of people died. Teachers are probably worried about kids getting ideas.”
“Doesn’t your kingdom have laws about getting such a device? Surely they wouldn’t let children have a tool that could harm a person so severely.” Time nudges the fallen Lynel with his boot. It remains lifeless on the ground.
“Well, obviously the government has some laws, like minimum age and stuff.” You nod, partially agreeing with Time. “But if they added too many restrictions, that would interfere with Americans’ right to bear arms.”
“Bear arms!?” Wild perks up, suddenly invested in the conversation. It’s clear he’s not thinking the same thing as you.
“The right to own and use guns,” you explain, and he slumps back down, perhaps saddened by the fact you don’t have government-given pet bears.
“So, let me get this straight.” Warriors pinches the bridge of his nose. “Your world has miniature, hand-held canons that can kill a Lynel in one hit and have historically been used to kill large numbers of civilians. And your royalty do little to control these devices?”
“Woah, man.” You gasp, offended. “America doesn’t have a monarchy. We got rid of the king, like, 200 years ago or something.”
“Got rid of…?” Twilight glances between you and the weapon in your hand. “What do you mean?” The rest of the chain share similar looks of horror.
“Ack, what are you looking at me like that for?” You swat the air with your hand, as if shooing away their ideas of regicide. “King What's-his-face lived across the ocean. We just sent him a very nice letter telling him to shove off, then when he sent soldiers to take back control, we fought them.”
“Right. Because that makes it so much better.” Legend rolls his eyes.
“Hey, at least we didn’t do what the French did!” You huff.
“What did they do?” Sky tilts his head, an innocent question. Shoot. Now you regret bringing that up.
“Welllllll…” You trail off. Maybe talking about the creation of democracy and the abolishment of the monarchy was a bad subject to talk about in a group made up of the Knights of Hyrule or whatever they were called.
“What did they do?” He asks, more serious this time.
“Okay, so from what I remember from history class, they just. Killed them all? Like publically executed every royal and court officail that didn’t flee to another country.” You wince as you speak. The boys’ faces go pale.
“Why would you want to get rid of the royalty? Don’t they have the blood of the goddess? And powers?” Wind scratches his head. That’s right, he had grown up without a monarchy controlling his island. But wasn’t he also friends with a long-lost princess? Honestly, these kids had led more interesting lives than could possibly be good for their mental health.
“No?” You furrow your brows. What did he mean by the blood of the goddess? “The king kept taxing random stuff and soldiers kept forcing themselves into people’s homes. I think they also killed a bunch of colonists one time firing-squad style, but I don’t exactly remember.”
“Oh. You had an evil king.” Time nods, as if finally understanding. Then he turns to the rest of the group, “Like Ganondorf.”
Most of the others nod along.
“Who’s that?” You tip your head to the side, confused. The outrage and utter bewilderment on the chain’s faces catches you off guard. They quickly descend into utter chaos.
“WHAT!?” “HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW!!??” “Does the name Ganon ring any bells?” “You know! The GIANT PIG MONSTER.”
You smile nervously. Maybe you should have just tried using one of their swords instead.

“CALL ME BABY”
Desc. What kind of fathers the LADS men would be. The kinds of kids they have. The brief dynamic amongst the children.
Featuring. Xavier, Zayne, Sylus, Rafayel, & Caleb! All x Reader/MC (separately)
w.c
A/N: Not me making problems for children. Also, the break my nuts game is a real game. My auntie was watching over some kids that were friends of a friend and they were jumping off the couch onto a firm triangle cushion trying to “break their nuts” crazy work btw, 10/10 parenting somehow
Xavier. He get’s a boy and a girl as twins. The older one I see taking on his more stoic and responsible attributes. The second kid, taking on his sleep everywhere traits but is a bad bitch on the down low. Second kid’s just unmotivated and unbothered.
Imagine it like this, if they were to grow into a high school setting, the archetypes of the first kid would be a student body president or have a role in the student body (they’d be arguing with Zayne’s kid for that role). Then the second kid would be just a “average” student with extra brain cells but wouldn’t want to put them to use. As they’re much more content with going to sleep and not exhausting as much energy as possible but when it comes to being relied on, end up being very reliable.
They def bicker a lot but not as much as Rafayel’s kids (Which we will get to later).
Xavier def treasures those kids. They would take on his hair but your eyes and have features that mostly resembled you with his cosmetics. He and second kid would get along fine and would cuddle together growing up because of how much they SLEEP. Imagine second kid clinging onto Xavier when he has to go to work. All like “daddy no! Don’t go!” Grumbling and gripping onto Xavier’s shirt.
Xavier’s oldest and him bond over simple talking, quality time in… cooking for you.
“But you’re banned from the kitchen.”
“Says who?”
“Mom.”
“She won’t even notice.”
“She will if the house is gone by the time she gets back.”
“I wasn’t aware the house could teleport. It must have been an oversight when I bought it.”
“Dad.”
Oldest kid loves practicing against Xavier with the sword. Second kid gets too dejected easily and does not truly want to do Xavier gets his fun out of oldest child. Teaching his oldest kid all the tricks he learnt and if anyone tries to get too close at school he gives them permission to defend themselves. If you know what I mean.
The oldest kid inherits Xavier’s light evol. They def train together. The second kid doesn’t care but they’re like a naturally talented and gifted sort of genius who doesn’t have to try. I’d say they’re really good at the sword with bad evol control or have skilled evol usage with a lack of effort or skill in sword fighting. One or the other.
The kids ask about how you and Xavier fell in love and Xavier’s always so sentimental when he tells the story. His rendition. Something you haven’t heard from him before but did now. First kid is sitting obediently at his side and looking up to the face of their father listening intently. While second child is lazing with their head on Xavier’s thigh as Xavier brushes their hair.
Zayne. Zayne feels like a girl dad or a boy dad, but with only one child. Honestly if he has a girl first, it’s a single child. If he has a boy first, then he has a young girl right after but when the boy is 5-7 so they have a pretty decent age difference.
Girl dad Zayne loves his baby girl. So, so much. She’s taken on your features, your hair, your eyes. I guess the only thing she has of his is the cold personality. Though not really cold, just shy and then with your chipper excitement whenever she lights up at anything she loves. Is also a lover of dessert. You have to yell at them both when they sneak away extra macaroons.
Zayne knows it’s wrong but can’t help it when she gives him the puppies of eyes.
Zayne’s son has almost all of his colors save for his features. He’s inherited the eyebrows for sure but the other features are yours. Sculpted soft nose and cushy cheeks. When he was born, Zayne couldn’t help but ghostly pinch at the chub of his newborn son. Almost looking akin to that cheery little seal he would always craft out of his evol.
Zayne’s daughter loves her big brother so, so much. She walks to school with him while holding his hand and skipping with the biggest, toothiest smile on his face. Whenever you give her candy she always saves a piece to share with her older brother and loves to tease him with sticky candied fingers. She adores being twirled around by him in the air and it always ends up with you having to warn them to be careful not to fall. She’s the only one she has such an easy time showing emotion with (besides you guys).
When she gets older she stops trying to be so reliant on him. Especially in public, she’s so independent and self reliant to everyone else, but at school she gets all embarrassed and shy when her big brother comes into class to remind her that she forgot her water bottle. Or that mom told her to eat all the veggies packed in her bento. Her classmates all awe at him and how cool her big brother is.
Zayne’s son is hardwired to look after his wittle baby sister. He can’t help it, she’s so cute. But also as he grows older he begins to wish for time to himself and independence from having to be an older protective brother. With so much weight on his shoulders he begins to act out and at some point claims that his dad only cares about his baby sister and that he doesn’t love him. (He’s a pre-teen give him a break).
All is resolved of course after a talk and that Zayne assured him he loves him, and pinching his cheeks.
Zayne’s son being the cool VP that hangs around and lets the kids chill from the rules while Zayne’s daughter in her generation is the president and is def more strict.
They both inherit Zayne’s snow ability but to your Evol versatility. Zayne’s son specializing in more imaginative moving creatures while Zayne’s daughter specializes in ice in the form of intricate and sturdy sculptures.
Rafayel. Rafayel has a girl, and a younger boy. No questions asked. Only like 3-4 years apart. The older girl is a sassy version of him, if not sassier. She has his hair, and his eyes. Although the big bug eyed version of them where it feels like she’s constantly staring into your soul. Constantly has them tied in adorable little pigtails at the side of her that swish back and forth when she shakes her head “no” especially when she was a toddler, a little pout on her face, lower lip jutted out as she crosses her arms with watery eyes peaking up at you both.
She is in fact a daddy’s girl, but very much still loves you. When she was younger she’d fight you over who got to cuddle dad in bed until Rafayel just tucked himself in the middle and cuddled you both. When she’s older she’s much more content with just you, and in fact finds her dad’s possession of your time to be really annoying. She wants to go shopping with you, for you to do her hair. For you to bake with her.
If anything, she kinda feels bad when she was younger for preferring her dad over you and wants to remind you that she loves you, too. Especially when you had her brother. Who took up most of your time. This was when she truly noticed the loss of your attention.
She kinda bullied him a lot too lol. But not too harshly, usual sibling banger of chasing each other around with a knife and threatening death. Then consoling and begging not to tell mom or dad. With her is the only time he’ll ever fight or argue back. But in a shy “leave me alone!” Kid sort of way. They bicker and banter back and forth. “Go climb a tree! Bug eyed freak!” “I hope the sharks eat you! You’d taste better than the grass!”
Rafayel’s son is much shyer. With one eye the color of Rafayel’s gradient hues and the other one of yours. He’s quite different than the both of you since you’re both so bold, especially with each other. He’s sensitive, and very shy. When he was younger, he’d often liked to be held by you and would bury his chubby face into your neck. He likes hiding behind Rafayel’s leg in public when he has his art galleries cause he still likes to see the pretty art his papa makes.
He loves to paint, Rafayel and him bonded that way. Rafayel somewhat got him out of his shell when his son was gifted the most talented artist award in kindergarten. In middle to highschool, Rafayel’s son gets pretty famous for being such a talented artist (but often gets compared to his dad and how he can’t live up to the original). Oh well, guess that’s why his older sister is there to beat them all up.
Younger son has evol doing with painting. The elements he paints come to life for a momentary period of time. He’s still learning to use it. Older sister has Rafayel’s fire evol. She’s more of a fighter though like her mom rather than a “dainty” artist. However, she fights with a force and grace of that of a well practiced and skilled dancer.
Sylus. Twins. Two girls. One boy. Just a five year age gap. His little girls are fierce and bold. Just as daring, sly and cunning. He spoils them SO much. They come back from weekend shopping trips from different parts of the world, sometimes richer in fashion and sometimes richer in mind. He definitely takes them to explore other cultures and they bring back souvenirs from their travels.
His girls love to hang onto Sylus like little monkeys. Very adventurous. If one of them is climbing his leg, the other one is hanging off his arm as he holds it up like a branch. Even as they get older to beg him for something they use this tactic.
As for his son, Sylus likes to sit with his son. It’s kind of strange cause the little boy is so quiet. Sylus likes to clean his guns with his son. Having the little child sit on the couch just staring blankly at his father reload and clean a gun. Of course, safety first.
His son inherits his animal loving trait. Horses? Check? A strange forest water creature? Check. A beaver? Strangely yes. Cats? Especially cats. If he goes outside expect him to come back with at least one cat that managed to follow him home.
“Who is that?”
“That’s Mochi and Miles. They’re brothers, Mochi is really nice but Miles is really mean.”
He looks up at you with those puppiest eyes, “Can we keep them?”
Before Sylus was more adept as a parent he had Mephisto watch over the twins in the crib. He had a special crib made with a perch sturdy enough to hold between two cribs so the crow could look over them all at once.
After you found out you scolded him, “what is a bird going to do if they’re in danger?”
“CAWCAW.”
“He’s going to do that.”
Luke and Kieran love the girls. Twinsies!!! They play house with them, feed them, albeit they’re both very clumsy in trying to feed the stubborn kids. The oldest is definitely very impatient and eats as fast as possible to go play, a choking hazard. The second one is patient and eats slow while transfixed with the TV, also a choking hazard with how distracted she gets. They both are very worried, very paranoid, very protective.
On the playground a little boy comes up to give Sylus’s second daughter a flower, all blushing and unable to meet her eyes as she’s more confused rather than thankful. But take it anyway. Luke and Kieran watching the whole thing interrogated the poor kid.
This kid is someone in Second daughter’s class that always remains behind the scenes throughout the years. In middle school he’s a pimply nervous kid and gets a completely glow up in high school that has every girl blushing but he only has eyes for second daughter.
Kieran and Luke refer to the son as little monarch. Throw him up in the air and like to shadow box with him. They’ll come out from the shadows and as Sylus’s son is throwing a punch, they’ll dramatically toss themselves backwards and groan in pain.
First daughter is chatty as FUCK. Wanting to know everything about her baby brother while second daughter watches and observes.
“Mommy, what does he eat?”
“Milk.”
“From a cow?”
“No.”
“From your nipples?”
“Whe-where did you learn that?”
“Did we drink from your nipples too?”
“Sylus!”
Sylus’s son is much more deadpanned, reserved, less excitable than the girls but just as adventurous if not more bold because of this personality difference. He gives off little shit energy. He’s a menace who does what he wants and loves to piss off his older sisters.
However, he’s a mommy’s boy. Prefers to spend days with you whether it be action based, training in the ring or relaxing, spa based. He loves both because he wants to spend time with his mom.
Very often it’s Sylus showing you PDA and all three of the kids BLEGHING at the sight. Although they acknowledge that they’re very lucky to have healthy, loving parents.
The oldest twin and son takes on the more physical attributes of both their parents. They both love boxing. While Sylus’s second daughter is more elegant and dancer-like. She’s more nimble and lean. Definitely took acrobatics when she was younger.
Second daughter takes on Sylus’s evol but in a ribbon leverage sort of manner. Kind of like Spiderman in movement and functionality but with evol strings. Son takes on mother’s attribute of physical combat with Sylus’s build. Think of the “BEAT HIS ASS” audio and that’s the vision you get whenever he fights. He grows to be way taller than his sisters. Older daughter is a combination of both, a master of none but a jack of all trades. She’s got skilled abilities in fighting, and evol manipulation but it’s her father’s manipulative eye that she’s got the most handle over out of the three.
Caleb. Caleb would have twin boys, one girl. Six year age gap. He’s hoping for a kid to look like you, but the twins share his resemblance. It’s extremely uncanny. The only thing they’d have is your nose bridge and eye structure. Otherwise it’s those beady lavender’s staring right back at him.
Metal arm Caleb is especially careful of holding the kids, definitely letting his more fleshy one being the one to hold his kids. Especially before they can even crawl, open their eyes, etc. He really wants to hold both kids in both arms, he’s strong enough to but is too afraid of hurting them. As they grow older they get used to their daddy’s “robot arm” and begin to ask questions about its origins and how other daddy’s don’t have robot arms.
They’re also very mischievous. Grabbing each other’s hair, especially as infants who can crawl. The youngest in retaliation always grabs the oldest’ hair and never lets go until he gets a toy. Or as they grow older, throwing dirt in the other’s faces, stealing a portion of their food but never taking each other’s portion of dessert because that’s sacred. Not as bad as Rafayel’s kids but 100% more physical.
They’re also both sort of manipulative. In the cute little shit way and less of the egotistical man sort of way. They want simple things like candy, not world domination (yet). They both also fight over your attention, and fight their dad for your attention. Caleb makes it very well known his little shits can’t have you at night but you will most certainly tuck them in.
The kids always BLEGH whenever he calls you pipsqueak or anything super endearing. With such love in his voice and heart eyes, a hand around your waist and leaning down to kiss your forehead. Such a love they cannot fathom just yet as they repulse is disgust at the affection.
“Momma we can kiss you way better than papa can.”
“Yeah, papa’s icky right now. He’s got cooties and germs all over him.”
“Your momma loves my cooties just fine.” He teases them with a flick to both their foreheads.
He loves flying paper airplanes for them, especially when they were toddlers. The way the two of them would toddle after an airplane mid flight with wide soft lavender eyes. Caleb also regales to them old “war stories” about being on the fleet.
They think he’s the coolest when he’s telling them these types of stories. They also try to play fight with him, all about how their evol is way stronger cause they’re younger and he’s a sad old man. He obviously beats them, never lets them truly win and it’s only after about three times does he let them succeed in “defeating” him.
The boys are just menaces, playing dangerous games like jumping off the couch like a ninja or climbing on each other’s shoulders. Jumping from the couch onto—albeit—soft cushions to play the “break my nuts” game they made up on a whim.
You and Caleb are both exhausted but happy. Yet there’s just one more thing he wants…
When Caleb gets his daughter she looks just like you. His hair but your eyes and your features. He loves her so much, adores her. The very first day you gave birth to her he wouldn’t put her down. His finger presenting itself to her tiny soft grabby little hands as she grips onto his larger finger tightly. She can’t open her eyes yet but her mouth is agape with the tiniest and most adorable little “o” as if she’s perpetually yawning. His mini pipsqueak.
The boys are rough players, and very loud, very destructive. You both cannot have nice things for long. You wonder how they’ll be.
When Caleb presents to them their baby sister they become quiet. Unknown with the little creature that sits so small and quietly in their father’s arms.
“Why is she so wrinkly?”
“Why is she so small?”
“She’s shaped like a potato.”
“She’s wrapped in a blanket, and you were small and wrinkly once like this too, y’know.” Caleb teases with a small grin.
The second oldest talks at normal voice level—loud—and Caleb has to shush him for fear of waking up the baby. They don’t think it’s much of an issue but after that they have to deal with crying in the night at fuck who knows hours and second oldest is a light sleeper so he definitely hates having the little potato around.
The boys hate how they have to tiptoe around her for the longest time while she’s this size. They’d get to a point where the oldest decides to rebel and the second son follows his lead and they both start screaming and hitting pots and pans. They’re such menaces.
Poor little Caleb’s daughter, with her baby ears and sensitive sleep schedule. He obviously yells at the boys and makes it very clear they can act like this again when she grows older.
They sort of resent her for a small period of time but grow to become fond of her when she’s a toddler. She cries less and sleeps through the night. Through exposure she’s gotten attached to her big brothers and sits by them whenever they’re watching a movie or follows them whenever they erratically walk around the house roleplaying as far space pirate.
They’re both very attentive and aware of what will hurt her, albeit not because they were taught to be Caleb but because they’ve learned to care about her safety over time. She fell down the stairs once? Her crying broke their hearts. Oldest kid kicked the stairs in anger and started crying because he hurt his foot. Second kid kicked the stairs for hurting both his older brother and baby sister, also started crying because he stubbed his toe. All in all, don’t kick the stairs.
As she grows older the boys tease her and kind of leave her out of things when they play together. They’re not exactly mean or cruel but they grew up together and prefer their boy time with one another. However, it doesn’t mean that they don’t feel bad about preferring playing sometimes without her. After they’re satisfied they also return to her with an apology and promise of the new big adventure the three of them will be on together.
When her hair’s longer, Caleb takes extra care to brush it, style it and takes care of her like he did for you when you were both younger. His little princess.
Don’t even mention boys or the possibility of her dating, it’ll break his heart knowing no one is good enough for his little girl. Not to mention the way the twins would erratically and immediately be threatening death if that boy were to do their sister wrong.
The twins inherit his abilities of gravity manipulation evol and the third inherits your abilities.

Sky Backstory (bc actually what’s going on there)
I know most of the Link’s kind of have ambiguous families or are just straight up orphans but Sky’s origins are particularly mysterious to me. Like we intentionally know that Time is an orphan, his mother died getting him into the lost woods. Four has a father and grandfather, Wind has a grandmother and sister, Twilight has an adoptive family (I think?), Legend had/has an uncle, and Wild had a family. Wars doesn’t mystify me as much bc he’s working as a soldier, it can be assumed he grew up somewhere else, and Hyrule doesn’t have anyone in his game so he just very much has wandering orphan vibes (There’s weird non canon stuff from the 80s but I don’t count it).
Sky, however, is surrounded by people in their families. Like everyone else in the academy has a family member yet they don’t ever mention Sky’s. Like not even if they had died when he was young or anything, like Sun’s mom.
So, I created my own backstory to fill in the gaps as I play Skyward Sword.
I think the people of Skyloft found Sky as a really young child one day just sitting in front of the Goddess statue with a baby loftwing nestled into his side. This is confusing bc nobody has ever seen this child before and there’s no way he could have flown to the island at that age and on a loftwing of that size. So they send search parties looking for his parents but find nothing. The academy takes him in and the island kind of raises him.
I think Sun would bully him as really young kids, she’s very jealous of his close bond with his loftwing. Her father is kind of horrified that she’s bullying the orphaned mute kid so he forces her to be friends with him. She starts feeling really bad for how she treated him and pulls a 180 becoming his biggest defender and best friend. (I don’t think the bullying would be super serious just mean kid stuff)
She tries to teach him sign but he doesn’t seem to be picking it up so they just enjoy quiet company for a while. Randomly, like 4 years after his arrival he just starts talking. Probably something mundane to Sun like: “The sky is really pretty today…” and she’d be like: “Yeah it’s so pink-“ *neck crack* “whatdidyoujustsay”
And turns out he did pick up the sign she was teaching him he just… didn’t want to use it. Then people start asking him questions about how he got to the island but he genuinely can’t remember. He doesn’t even think he remembers his parents. He thinks he can recall a soft voice and strong arms but it might just be something he made up to soothe himself…
And yeah, I think it just remains a mystery.

What is fun about the last time Shanks saw Mihawk he was probably 29 on the cusp of 30 and then they fall out and they don’t really reconnect until Mihawk is middle age and Shanks on his way there.
That’s alot of time to miss someone you used to know intimately. A whole life has been lived there. And think how much Mihawk must have changed how much shanks himself has changed. All this to say that I really think Shanks loves watching this version of Mihawk being domestic and having his little old lady hobbies.
He loves watching him cook and bake and talk about recipes and how to make sure the little gremlins under his care are getting the proper nutrients. He loves watching him tend to his garden with his ridiculously domestic sun hat, he loves watching him pick strawberries and put them into a little quicker basket and plant and harvest cocoa trees for Perona, and teach Zoro how to chop vegetables really fast and embroider his little flower patterns and read erotica and newspapers Like the same thing and take naps in the sun spot like a cat and interact with the kids and just he likes seeing Mihawk live his life because I will never come down from the hill that Shanks really kind of subconsciously worries about him and his loneliness and kind of the empty way he was living his life.
Cause like I think for shanks it’s such a jarring juxtaposition with the Mihawk that’s still freshest in his memories 10 years ago. 20 something young dangerous and wanted. Mihawk back then was probably the definition of vagabond literally bound to nothing and no one except occasionally shanks. Sailing around in a tiny ass boat with only wine and his sword a one man calamity. The Mihawk he remembers was always itching for a fight and would gladly start one. And because I headcannon Mihawk probably didn’t get his title till after his big blowout with shanks this is still a Mihawk with a lot to fucking prove and he’ll prove it every chance he gets. This is a Mihawk who still regularly accepts challengers and is also actively challenging people. This is a Mihawk that is hunting marines for sport (or revenge Or both) His life revolves around wine, sword-fighting, violence and blood shed and in the way only a man that doesn’t even realize how lonely he is it revolved around shanks.
I just think 20 something Mihawk had 1 friend and 1 hobby and hewas a lonely fuck who was so intensely single-mindedly putting all his energy into both he ends up kind of losing both (shanks crumples under the weights of his expectations and he literally positions himself so far above the crowd in swordsmanship and the one fight he actually does want to have is ruined for him that for a long period of time he doesn’t even experience the same joy that he used to while fighting it’s just another thing he can no longer fully indulge in) 20 something year old Mihawk was a discontent mess rapidly spiraling into depression and nihilistic boredorm and like Shanks can’t do anything about it because Mihawk won’t do anything about it he won’t even properly acknowledge it’s happening. And suddenly they aren’t friends anymore the love of his life literally walks out of it.
And then 10 years go by and zap suddenly here’s this 41 one year old man mostly unchanged but definetly more mature on the cusp of something truly life changing and then there’s this 43 year old with an island and a home and these 2 kids that he can’t even properly contextualize how they fit into his life and that must be so jarring one moment shanks remember A 29 year old nihilist that is literally breaking his heart and now here’s a “mellowed” out little old grandma hobby having middle aged man doing needle point on a Sunday evening come to take his place. A whole life lived in 12 years and Shanks didn’t get to see a lot of it but he’s so glad to see this now, that he gets to have this now.
#I don’t know just something about young Mihawk being an airplane crash made human form is right up my alley#like very rarely happens but burns fucking bright and is catastrophic when it does#born from my thinking that Mihawk had to be the most unexpected crash out back in the day#lliterally the one friend you knew in high school you were was going to drive themselves to an early grave dead in a ditch somewhere#grew up to be a kind of somewhat well adjusted adult if you don’t squint to hard#and by dead in a ditch I mean going out in a blaze of glory with a sword stabbed threw his heart#this is also born if my belief that part of why mishanks failed is because Mihawk had no other friends and being as obsessive as he can get#that’s not good for anyone#but also this is just an ode to young mishanks and the fun I they must have had being young talented and wanted#one piece#throwing thoughts to the void#dracule mihawk#op#hawkeye mihawk#mishanks#akagami no shanks#shanks#red haired shanks#akataka#red hair shanks#perona and zoro#perona one piece#roronoa zoro#goth family#goth fam

Hi! Hope ur having a good day.
What are your thoughts about the swordsmanship skill level of each link? Jojo mentioned in an old post that sky is the best cause of motion controls, but I'd like to hear ur opinion on the others, esp 2D links like the traveller and vet.
Hi anon! Ooooooooh this is a great question. I’m not quite sure I can put them all in quantifiable levels but I can definitely yap about their proficiency and style!
Best swordsmen: Sky and Hyrule
Least proficient swordsmen: Wind and Twilight
The rest fall somewhere in between, and of course there’s nuance involved. More under the cut!
The best swordsmen
Okay, so taking Jojo’s statement about Sky into account, I do accept him being the best as canon. Sure there are the motion controls, but also, Sky went to military school in a society where knighthood is seen as a highly respected and sacred profession. He’s presumably had sword forms drilled into him from an early age, intertwined with religious teachings that make sword fighting not just another skill to learn, but something to devote both his earthly life and his spiritual soul to. Even before he had the Master Sword, I think it’s likely that he would have viewed a sword not simply as a weapon or a tool but an extension of himself. That deep personal connection would have solidified even further when Fi came into the picture. Fi was made specifically for him. In his eyes, she has become part of him. That coupled with his extensive training are what make him so formidable with a sword.
Next up we have Hyrule, whom Jojo has allegedly said is right behind Sky in terms of sword skills. I agree! For some background: I remember reading somewhere that at the time of starting LU, Jojo supposedly hadn’t played his games yet and some people in the fandom attribute his early “just a humble traveler” characterization to her not knowing how brutal his games are. These fans say that she has apparently played them since and his characterization has reflected that. Now, whether that’s true or not, I personally think that Hyrule’s initial characterization is perfect for him. Of course he thinks he’s just a normal dude when he comes from a ridiculously dangerous world where everyone has to fight as hard as they can to survive! Like Sky, he’s probably had a sword in his hand from a very early age, but he wasn’t learning to wield it within the confines of a cushy academy. No, he was out there using that thing to stay alive. He most likely lacks any consistent formal training and has learned mostly through experience. He certainly has a lot of it, after all. Hyrule’s style would be nowhere near as polished as Sky’s albeit still very effective, and he wouldn’t be afraid to play dirty.
The least-proficient swordsmen
I put Wind in this category because the others - especially Time - have praised him on his progress after a few fights, indicating that he was in need of improvement when he joined the Chain. He’s not bad at swordplay per se, but he is a young teenager going through puberty so his body is actively growing and changing. That can be hard to keep up with. Plus, his sword instructor at home is a weird old dude in a loincloth who I’m pretty sure is a bit senile, so while he had enough training to get through his adventure I think the quality of that training is questionable.
Poor Twilight. Time The Hero’s Shade really didn’t mince words when he called him out on his lackluster sword skills during his adventure. The only experience Twilight had with swordplay before that was swinging a stick around with a bunch of kids. He learned some moves from Time The Shade and got pretty okay at using them, but that’s far from a comprehensive training. In LU, we consistently see that Twilight prefers to fight by means other than the sword. Wolfie seems to be his go-to for combat, and when that’s not an option he throws his crazy strength around. In the most recent update, he got flustered and used his sumo skills to yeet a monster off a ledge. I get the idea that he’s actually not very confident with a blade.
The others
For this group, there is no actual ranking - they all just fall somewhere ambiguously in the middle and have differing styles.
Legend was raised by a former knight, so I think it’s safe to assume that he received some instruction as a child. The basics, at the very least. During his first adventure, he didn’t hesitate to take up his uncle’s blade, indicating at least some familiarity with it. He would have built upon that foundation as he gained more adventuring experience, but although I’d say Legend is certainly more proficient than Twilight, he too prefers to fight using other means. His plethora of magical items are testament to this.
Even though Wild has amnesia as far as his conscious memory goes, I personally think that his subconscious mind has remained fairly intact. He was pretty weak at the beginning of his adventure, but he still knew how to fight, indicating that all of his military training is readily accessible in that brain of his - he just has to dust it off. He doesn’t remember the circumstances of how he learned his skills, but he can definitely utilize those skills. I think his style would be a mix of neat-and-clean technique as well as savage attacks learned by fighting a lot of monsters.
Coming from a family of weaponsmiths, Four probably knows more about swords themselves than anyone else in the chain. He knows the science behind the materials, the structure, the balance, etc. but that doesn’t necessarily translate to actual fighting skill. Since he’s such close friends with his Zelda, he may have had a few lessons from the royal guard but personally I think he had to mostly learn on the go during his adventures. His knowledge of swords definitely would have helped him teach himself how to hold his own. Four’s style would be very technical, but lacking polish.
Warriors comes from a hack-and-slash game, and I feel like that would have a huge bearing on his skill set. He’s used to fighting tons of enemies at once, so he’d be very good at crowd control. Although he would have had dueling training in the military, I don’t think he would have had much field experience with it. He does great against monsters and he’s an excellent tactician, but I think he would be in a bit of trouble if he had to fight an experienced swordsman one-on-one.
Now, Time is a bit interesting. I think his preference may be influenced by the Fierce Deity, who wields that giant helix sword. In LU, he favors the biggoron sword which is absolutely humongous. Perhaps he’s more confident in the slower, more methodical and calculated movements of larger blades than the flurry of smaller finesse ones. We do see a penchant for wielding weapons two-handedly in his games with his jump slash, so it could be that he feels like two-handed weapons are more effective. He, like Hyrule, would have learned to fight out of necessity at the beginning but he likely received actual training later on in his new timeline.

Kagari Amagase
Things I can Only Do With You at Night: Ch1 | Ch2 | Ch3 | Ch4 | Card
Just when I had finally started getting used to life in Kogyoku, where I’d come for a bookstore restock trip—
Child 1: "Yaaah— Whoa!?"
Kagari: "Too much wasted movement."
Child 2: "You’re wide open— Ugh!"
Kagari: "The one with an opening is you."
Child 3: "Got you— Gah!?"
Kagari: "Your grip is too weak."
(Wow… he’s merciless.)
At a dojo in the neighboring town, Prince Kagari was giving the children a lesson in swordsmanship.
The kids charged at him all at once, swinging their bamboo swords, but Prince Kagari dodged them with ease, his expression unwavering.
He blocked an attack from behind without even looking, sweeping the child’s legs out from under them, and used his hands to grab the hilt of their sword to throw
It was almost like a game, as one after another, the children rolled across the floor.
(He's even being mindful to make sure they don't bump into each other... It's like he has eyes on the back of his head.) ●●●●●● Flashback ●●●●●●
Kagari: “Well, fancy seeing you here, princess. Out on your own?"
Kagari: "Me? I’m on my way to teach swordsmanship to the kids at the dojo."
Kagari: "……Want to come along?"
●●●●●● Flashback End ●●●●●●
(I guess it was good thing I decided to take a walk around the town.)
Despite the intense training, the children didn’t seem to lose their motivation. In fact, their determination seemed to grow stronger.
I couldn't take my eyes off Prince Kagari, admiring how his guidance drew such spirit out of them.
After the training session ended, Prince Kagari sat cross-legged next to me, his face as composed as ever.
Emma: "Great work. Would you like some water?"
Kagari: "No, I’m fine. I was just playing with kittens, after all."
(He dealt with a dozen kids at once and calls it playing… He really is amazing.)
Kagari: "You were watching pretty intently. Was the training that unusual?"
As Prince Kagari propped his chin on his hand, looking at me, I nodded in response.
Emma: "It’s my first time seeing something like that up close. In my country, it’s rare for so many children to be trained in swordsmanship."
Kagari: "Is that so? Here in Kogyoku, there are dojos in every town, so there are plenty of opportunities to learn."
Kagari: "Children are taught to wield a sword and protect themselves from a young age. You could call it a mandatory skill."
(In a war-torn country like Kogyoku, it's commonplace for everyone to carry weapons, regardless of age or gender...)
The children who had been practicing earlier were now running around the dojo, laughing and playing.
(For those kids, dedicating themselves to sword training is not just about pursuing their dreams of becoming warriors,)
(But also about protecting themselves and their loved ones from the dangers that threaten their lives.)
Learning this through today’s session, I felt my chest tighten as I reflected on the differences between this country and the one I grew up in.
Emma: "Do you often teach the children, Prince Kagari?"
Kagari: "I usually leave it to my subordinates, but I teach whenever I can make time."
(That makes sense. Prince Kagari is the commander of his unit and a key figure in this region’s defense. It must be hard to find time for things like this.)
I felt lucky to have seen Prince Kagari teaching the children today.
At that moment, several children came over, their eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Child 1: "Teacher, is she your girlfriend?"
Kagari: "No."
Child 2: "Aww, really? You've never brought a woman with you before, so we thought maybe—"
Child 3: "I told you! Teacher only cares about dorayaki and swords!"
Child 2: "Are you seriously planning to stay single forever, Teacher? Or are you marrying a dorayaki?"
Kagari: "Most people die alone anyway. It’s best to remember that."
Kagari: "You all seem to have a lot of energy. Want to go for another set of practice? I’d be happy to oblige."
Children: "Noooo! Teacher, you’re a demon!"
Kagari: "Before that, shouldn’t you greet our guest first?"
Children: "Hello!"
Emma: "H-hello."
Kagari: "Good. Never forget to greet others, no matter the situation."
Children: "Okay!"
(The must feel comfortable around him to speak so freely like this.)
(Still… being mistaken for Prince Kagari’s girlfriend…)
I couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed at the misunderstanding.
Child 2: "If she’s not your girlfriend, then why’d you bring her here?"
Kagari: "She seemed interested in watching the training, so I invited her."
Emma: "Was that it?"
Kagari: "Yeah.
Kagari: You’re easy to read. That’s something I’ve learned about you."
(Prince Kagari notices everything... It's kind of intimidating but also reassuring.)
Trying to hide a growing smile, I casually covered my mouth with my hand.
Child 1: "Aww, if you were his girlfriend, we could have teased you two during the festival."
Emma: "A festival? There’s a festival happening?"
(Now that they mention it… the streets have felt livelier over the past few days.)
Kagari: "You didn’t know? This town is holding a festival soon."
Kagari: "It’s not a huge one, but there will be fireworks."
Emma: "Really? I’ve never been to a festival in Kogyoku before."
Kagari: "…Is that so? This will be your first, then."
Child 1: "Hey, hey! My family runs a sweets shop, and we’re putting up a stall at the festival!"
Child 3: "The sakura manju are the best. The skin is so chewy, and they taste amazing!"
Child 1: "We’re working super hard to prepare, so Teacher, you and the lady should come check it out!"
Emma: "Sure, I’ll definitely come!"
Child 1: "Yes! One more customer secured!"
Though I agreed in the moment, I was already filled with excitement at the idea of going to the festival. My mind began to fill with images of colorful food stalls lined up in the streets.
(The owner said there would be stalls here that can’t be found in Rhodolite.)
(I hope I’ll be able to see and experience everything during my first foreign festival.)
As I let my imagination run wild, I felt a steady gaze from beside me, sharp yet unreadable.
Emma: "Um… Is something wrong, Prince Kagari?"
Kagari: "No, nothing."
(He says that, but why won’t he look away?)
(Come to think of it… I wonder if Prince Kagari plans to go to the festival.)
Kagari: "…"
Kagari: "………"
Emma: "……..……"
(……This is so unsettling.)
After the children had left, I left the dojo with Prince Kagari.
As the sound of our footsteps echoed in the quiet hallway as we walked side by side, I felt his gaze constantly fixed on me.
(Maybe he wants to say something… Hmm, but I can’t figure out what it could be.)
Kagari: "Princess."
Emma: "Ah! Y-Yes? What is it?"
He suddenly leaned in closer, his sharp features coming near, and I reflexively leaned back.
Kagari: "Among all the regions in Kogyoku, my territory is relatively the safest. It even attracts a fair number of tourists."
Kagari: "Even if this festival is small in scale, it has more liveliness and entertainment than festivals in other territories."
Emma: "I see. That makes me even more excited for the day to come."
(…Why is he suddenly promoting the festival?)
Kagari: "But for someone coming from another country with no familiarity with the area, it might be hard to fully enjoy the festival."
Kagari: "So, that's why—"
(Could this be… No way…)
A different kind of anticipation stirred in my chest, making me unusually nervous.
With a composed yet serious demeanor, Prince Kagari fixed his gaze on me and—

Post Game Warrior of Hope Headcanons
Due to their status of being wanted fugitives despite being children, all five of them are sent to Jabberwock island to live with the reformed/reforming Remnants of Despair. Toko and Komaru, in between helping clean up Towa City and anywhere else, do often visit the kids who for the most part are always thrilled to see them. All of them do have to go to a l o t of mandated therapy (along with ya know, everyone else on the island). Monaca specifically sometimes has to go through day long therapy sessions... they do all eventually get better because of them though.
Masaru Owari - taken primarily by Nekomaru and Akane, he is very on edge at first with them being demons... this last about three hours, the two of them are able to win this kid over extremely fast. - it helps that Akane understands a lot where he is coming from, and Nekomaru is simply the most positive masculine guy ever to grace the planet. - They are the definitely the household that consumes the most food, they all have so much energy and need to fuel their bodies like no tomorrow! - Auntie Yuna is probably someone else he trusts super fast, and that's mostly because she is still about his age. They often have races and other sports contests of and the like. - Does not trust anyone else on the island nearly as quickly though- It takes a lot of time for him to really be willing to talk to any of the other 'demons' on the island.. but mostly through the effect of the other warriors trusting them, he eventually lets himself try to get to know them... and finds they are okay. - so much energy all the time and Nekomaru is happy to direct it positively and Akane is often teaching him different ways to parkour around the island. He once went three days with out touching the ground a single time and still grins about it. - When he is more adjusted he does love to spend time with Uncle Fuyuhiko and Auntie Peko. Peko has taught him how to use a sword which is a danger to everyone but like, he eventually calms down with the new skill and is taught the best way to use it. - Also spends a lot of time with Kotoko and Ibuki, rocking out with them pretty often and being just LOUD. - Eventually Akane and Nekomaru start adopting more children and man he is soooo excited to be a big brother, they follow him along like ducklings and he makes sure to teach them how to stay safe and stay strong. - When he does grow up, he turns into a true public defender. Not a cop, ACAB is the name of the game here but someone who does try to stop violent crime, help during storms and protect those who cannot protect themselves, young, old, and otherwise. - He will make sure others do not need to be afraid.
Jataro Koizumi - Taken in primarily by Mahiru and Hiyoko. His first instinct is to try and get these two to hate him but unfortunately for him, Mahiru deals with Hiyoko and Hiyoko dealt with herself. - At first tries to do pranks that sometimes end up more... violent, until Hiyoko is like "Ok, how about instead of pulling pranks on us, we pull pranks. on everyone else?" and helps him design traps and the like... Mahiru has to clean up after them a lot. - Though, Hiyoko does help him turn down the danger of his pranks and trouble over times. - Mahiru is a very good mother to him and does actually... make him feel wanted and loved. Often is taking pictures of Hiyoko and him together. He also gets more into photography because of her. - makes a lot of collages using photos him and Mahiru takes, and before long he is spending a lot of time with the other warriors (minus Monaca)... he makes a lot of friendship bracelets/jewellery for them. Also lots of pictures being taken of them. - Does make a pretty decent effort to reach out to Monaca but it's... kinda hard. Eventually has taken a break until she tries... but that takes a long time to happen. - Spends a good of time learning how to do makeup from Ernest and also plays a lot with their appearance until they finds something their is happy with and makes them feel comfortable. - Tries to learn how to dance from Hiyoko but that just does not really work out for him despite his best attempts... he does end up getting very into traditional Japanese culture due to her though, often sits and joins for green tea between Peko and Hiyoko - When he grows up he goes around and restores art that has been destroyed during the tragedy, sometimes with pieces that have been too ruined to ever be fixed he turns them into something new that can be loved by a new generation.
Kotoko Mioda - Taken in primarily by Ernest, Ibuki and Mikan. She does take to Ibuki like a fish to water and Ibuki introduces her to a bunch of alt fashion styles and punk music. Mikan helps give her a lot of tips to cope with the trauma she has been through having gone through so much similar well Ernest helps keep her into the theatrics arts. - The most excited when Komaru and Toko come to visit and is the first one to say hello and to want to know what they have been up too. They are always delighted to see her too. - Rocks out often with Ibuki and learns to play different instruments from her, also becomes a better singer even if she ends up... gaining a similar music taste to her mom. - Ends up gaining weight and at first is freaking out about it but Ernest helps make her feel better about it. She ends up at a healthy weight but on the plus size side of things which is fine by her. - Switches styles all the time which Ibuki is so down for. Sometimes its flashy punk and loud with dyed hair and dark leather, other times it is natural, softer and something that much closer matches Mikan. Ernest is always there to help design the outfits and makes sure she doesn't burn her hair. - She ends up helping Mikan get Masaru and Jataro to sit still long enough to go through checkups and does actually enjoy being her assistant more than she would have assumed. - She definitively has the hardest time with Monaca being around in her life, she wants nothing to do with her and likely won't ever truly forgive her, and she is 100% correct for that. No one else in the group is upset at her for that being what she wants to do. - Spends a lot of time with Auntie Sonia and Uncle Gundham, learning all sorts about true crime and the occult from the both of them. Also learns more about public speaking and communications from Sonia. - Really likes helping Gundham take care of his animals along with Jataro, it's something they have a lot of fun doing together. - When she grows up she is a multi-type performer, she acts, sings, plays instruments and does a lot of public speeches meant to instill hope. She also helps start multiple charities to help end childhood abuse using her influence.
Nagisa Hinata - Taken in primarily by you, Hajime and Nagito (when he is around). The quickest to adjust by far to living with you and Hajime and the most accepting of being there. It helps he does Hajime through the Kamukura project though and was 'Big Brother Izuru' - You have to teach this kid how to just read fun books for fun and not to think about it to hard... and he does end up enjoying it a lot. - You do have to convince him to eat three meals a day and also go to bed at a reasonable hour... as much as he can, he does have some pretty bad insomnia. - Hajime takes him on fishing trips pretty often, they don't catch much and when they do it is mostly catch and release but one time Nagisa caught a massive blue fin tuna and it was brought home and turned into lunch - Hajime also teaches him how to skateboard. - Because Nagisa is sort of a workaholic still, he tends to go around to all the different ultimates and learn from them, trying to pick up as many skills as he can from so many teachers who are actually nice and not what his parents did to him. - Can now steal someones identity pretty easily because of Ernest, who does also try to trick this kid into resting every chance they get and just puts on tv shows that are more for fun, like RuPaul's Drag Race and convinces him it is totally educational. - Learns how to fight from Nekomaru, Akane, Peko and Fuyuhiko so he can defend himself better in the future. - Learns a lot from Mikan about medical stuff specifically and ends up being very good at first aid. He was the parent of the group so he was probably already used to patching up injuries. - Still the parent of the group actually, constantly keeping an eye on everyone else... expect for Monaca who.... oh boy. He has such complex feelings towards Monaca. he wants to hate her, and he definitely does not feel the same crush he did before but... he does care about her still and kinda hates himself for it. Him and Hajime end up talking about it because Hajime has similar conflicting feelings about Junko. - when he does fully grow up, he ends up becoming a public organizer. He helps get public construction projects started to repair the world and tries to create a world that is a paradise... for both children and adults.
Monaca Komaeda - Taken in basically only by Nagito, but Nagito does get a lot of help from Chelsea. Monaca is not happy about this arrangement and makes sure everyone is aware. - You and Hajime try to help when you can but Monaca makes it very clear how much she does not care for the effort... it is still there though. - Monaca and Nagito stay in a cabin mostly isolated from the rest of the islands, for both of their sakes honestly. Monaca does have to leave for both regular therapy and also physical therapy. - At first she out right refuses to engage with the therapy sessions which Monomi/Alter Ego do not force her to participate in, simply having her play games again (Even though she tries to refuse that at first too) ... but eventually she realizes it is just easier to go along with it. -Monaca has tried to kill Nagito several, several times. Mikan and Hajime have gotten multiple phone calls of "Hey, not to bother you, but Monaca has stabbed me... if someone could come over that's be great. No rush" - He's basically unphased by everything Monaca tries to do to him though, and also is very aware of keeping an eye on her at all times to make sure she doesn't hurt herself either. The most prepared to deal with her because they were very different as kids... but also extremely similar. - Reads her bedtime stories that mostly consist of cosmic horror and murder mysteries. - As much as she hates Nagito though, despises Chelsea even more because Chelsea is a lot like her mother Alexis and that means she sees Monaca as a small child who she fears not. Monaca does also make attempts at her life but they are a lot less effective because Monaca is a small, frail child. Chelsea just picks her up under the arms and puts her in the time out corner with a 'That wasn't very nice, Monaca." - It takes her a long, long, long time but eventually, one time, she accidentally calls Nagito 'Dad' and he is over the moon about it.... which was meet with a very firm "MONACA DID NOT SAY T H A T" - Has a hard, hard time when she eventually starts to... miss the other warriors of hope. She isn't even sure how to react when she realizes she feels this way... but does try to reach out and talk with them, those who are willing anyway. She doesn't expect anything but it goes... slightly better than expecting - When she is grown up she starts working with Kazuichi and using her skills at robotics to make impressive things honestly.. Lots of medical technology specifically. Nagito is so proud of her . - When Hajime and you have your first child, Chikara, she.... accidentally ends up becoming Big Sister Monaca because as soon as Chikara can walk, he is falling Monaca around.

a post on how yanqing's monologue in the 2.4 quest aligns perfectly with his character story (+ why jing yuan is a great father figure / mentor)
so we all know that yanqing is regarded as the best swordsman on the luofu (character story part I), and when you read his character story part II, it's obvious why:
When hunting near a distant star, the monstrously huge mechabeast Windguard created by the Denizens of Abundance was pulverizing defense forces as though they were ants. But this young boy met against it face-to-face, claiming its head and routing the enemy to the point of collapse. As for subsequent victories: He broke the borisin's Devouring Wolf formation with Jing Yuan, beheading three Brood Lords. He also fought viciously against the wingweavers, ultimately sinking their almighty Cloudseizer Fleet... These are just a small footnote in the annals of his courageous swordplay.
yanqing mentions himself how he isn't like normal kids, but it's kind of startling and unnatural to read about how fearless he is. after all, he isn't like kafka--who literally cannot feel fear--he's just genuinely that good at his art
to jing yuan, yanqing's constant improvement is a reminder of how even though long-life species don't need to fear time decaying their body, their warped sense of time means they are often stagnate in their ideals and ultimately how they live their lives
"General... I finally... won." The general pauses. He suddenly realizes that, compared to the boy trying to improve every day, he himself has endured too many years and is used to stagnation.
the paradox though is that if you only win, that in itself is a form of stagnation.
so if you always succeed while being constantly praised from a young age, what happens when you lose for the first time?
from the average honkai star rail player's perspective, it's laughable that we see someone as decorated as yanqing be defeated multiple times in a row. it makes us wonder whether he even deserves his title, seeing how weak he is compared to jingliu, blade, and imbibitor lunae.
in actuality, this is a genius writing move. by bringing the player into the story right when yanqing starts losing, we begin having the same doubts and suspicions about yanqing that he is about himself. all the scorn and hatred he gets from the fandom are things i'm sure he's thought about himself.
what's even more interesting about yanqing is that most hsr characters are grown and had their early development offscreen, but we are experiencing yanqing's first big low firsthand, right along with him.
but believe it or not, this is exactly what jing yuan wanted.
according to yanqing's character story part IV:
Yanqing became an unrivaled fighter aboard the Xianzhou Luofu as his skills grew more and more advanced. Jing Yuan gradually began thinking about ways to restrain Yanqing's edge, to take him down a peg without curbing his confidence. Too solid and it can shatter. Too sharp and it can blunt. More than just a sharp edge — a sword also needs a scabbard that can restrain it. In Jing Yuan's view, Yanqing has grown up exceedingly fast — beyond expectations. What Yanqing needs right now is not more strength, but the ability and experience of curbing that strength — something that can only manifest by the passage of time.
jing yuan knows exactly what can happen to those blessed with enormous power. unchecked strength and confidence is a double edged sword--it's precisely this overconfidence that got yanqing into fighting with blade/il and challenging jingliu, yet it's also one of yanqing's best features. what jing yuan wants is for yanqing to continue to believe in himself and be courageous, but also practice control and resilience, even after resounding defeat.
"All's equal in war, and sneak attacks are a good idea. It's too bad your sword is so focused on the flourish and can't conceal its form. Is this what they call youthful vigor?"
there are some things you cannot directly teach, and it's not as though jing yuan planned for yanqing to meet jingliu/etc. jing yuan believes that only time can teach yanqing, yet it's also tricky because for long-life species, time is not just a wheel pushing progress but a cycle repeating the same things over and over.
this is why i believe it's a testament to the stellar quality of yanqing's character and jing yuan's raising of him that so relatively quick after all of yanqing's failures...
...yanqing hasn't given up nor run away, but rather discovered that he no longer fights solely for an extrinsic reward--victory, honor, approval--and instead, for something much more permanent
this doesn't mean yanqing's going to stop throwing himself into difficult fights--just take his bickering with yunli as an example--but rather his perspective has changed. yanqing will enter battle even if defeat is inevitable and will keep on going even if he loses. he's continuing to improve, both physically and mentally.
(i also want to point out the juxtaposition of "letting go of everything" and "giving it my all" in yanqing's purpose above; it sounds contradictory but i think it means how fighting helps yanqing feel free and forget the weight on his shoulders, yet it's also a show of passion where he'll fight for his family/friends/ideals to the best of his ability and beyond)
to conclude, yanqing is an insanely complex and well written character, and i'm so happy that the 2.4 quest is exploring everything that has been set up for him so far. connecting this to the final character story i haven't covered yet (part III), i believe that yanqing is closer to achieving his dream than ever before:
It's completely natural for teenage boys to love swords, but a specific dream flickers and dances among the Xianzhou swords in his collection. To become the best on the Luofu — no, the best across all the Xianzhou ships. To take the title of Sword Champion on the Luofu, and even take the title of Sword Preeminence across the Alliance. Since the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae, the title of Sword Champion among the Luofu Cloud Knights has remained vacant for centuries. Not that nobody wants to claim it, but for a rather more embarrassing reason: The previous Sword Champion, a legendary swordmaster with 13 outstanding accolades, violated the laws of heaven, resulting in her name being wiped from the face of the cosmos. Even the prestigious title that she bore became a sore spot for others. But for this vastly impressive teen, it's now time to turn over a new page in the annals of history and write another chapter.
ultimately, i think jing yuan said it best:
"You will soon be better than everyone, and that will only be the beginning..."
#ahhh this is my first time posting a full character analysis#took me way too long omg#yanqing luvrs pls enjoy hehe#honkai star rail#yanqing#jing yuan#jelloia analysis

BG3 Companion's reactions to Tav being much younger than they thought
Trying out a new format kinda, let me know if it works, please
Lae’zel is the baby at 20/23 ish but for this Tav is around age 16/17 making them the baby
Astarion: He didn't really care to know your age when you first met, but as you ventured forth he could tell you where inexperienced, an amazing leader, but you had no idea what you were doing. “How long have you been doing this, adventuring this darling?” He asked watching as you tried in vain to unlock a chest. “Oh well… Im only sixteen so not that long? When we met up really.” He stared into space for a moment, taking in his fearless leader, who was in fact a child. “Well thats… reassuring?” He said carefully moving you to the side so he could pick the lock for you.
Trust me you wouldn't live down the. “Does the baby need help?” Jokes
No one is getting within arm's length of you though
#his baby *cough* his meal ticket *cough, cough*
Gale: The poor guy has a lot on his mind *and in it*. Forgive him that he really didn't think about figuring out how old you are. “Gale how old were you when you found out you could use magic?” Gale looked up at you watching you playing around with Minor Illusion. “I was about seventeen when Mystra first contacted me.” He said thinking for a moment. “Ohhh that means I’ll be a better wizard than you!” He chuckled hearing You tease him. “You can't be that young.” He jested, his face deadpanning when you admitted you were almost seventeen.
Giving him PTSD from when he first met Mystra
He feeds you first
Feels so guilty about you going to get him magical artifacts
Halsin: Oh he knew, He is over three hundred but he ain't dumb. When you broke him out of Jail he was protective of you, seeing a kid leading and protecting a group of adults broke his heart. “Tav, please rest.” He said softly as he let you sit down. “I have the watch tonight, please get some sleep.” He’s a papa bear. You get hurt, he's there. Can't reach something? Halsins is helping lift you up. He lets you have your respect as a leader but he is always there to be a shoulder to lean on or your own personal Jiminy cricket.
Guard Dog privileges
Will let you sleep on him
Will not let you in the sheresses caress
Jaheira: Mama knew, when you first pulled up to Last Light she swore she saw one of her kids running up to her. “Cub have you eaten?” She’s already going mama mode seeing you haven't slept or eaten. She tears Halsin a new one for not helping you more with Art Cullagh. After the Last Light is attacked and you are standing by her side helping protect her people she feels proud of the next generation and those who are leading it.
She licks her thumb and cleans your face without thinking of it
Teaches you how to haggle
Feels so sorry for you and the trials you must face
Karlach: The baby girl had no idea, she just knows it's fun to rage with you. During a particularly deep rage section, she was surprised when you started to cry. “Soldier?” She asks having to stop herself from hugging and burning you. “I-I’m just scared Karlach.” She listened to you feeling her own tears forming. “I’m not even eighteen, but… Everyone depends on me.” Gods she wanted to hug you, she was raging for you, and because she couldn't hug you.
She works 10x harder to cool down her heart, not just for her, but so she can hold you
Lets you hug Clive as long as you need
Knows how you feel from being shoved into Zariel’s arms at age fifteen
Lae’zel: She doesn't care, You are old enough to hold a sword. In fact your young age and leadership skills just makes her impressed. “I will help train you to fight like a true warrior, not like the teeth-ling.” She does in fact start training you. Dear gods save you, shes got you running laps before the sun comes up.
Proud older sister
Has her own special *violent* way for praising you
Talks about when shes a general of Vlakith and you will be her right-hand
Shadowheart: She and Lae’zel were at each other's throats again when you blew up at them. “You two are fighting like teenagers! And I’m sixteen!” She felt like she got hit by a bag of bricks, you were sixteen, but you had pulled her from the nautiloid, and fought with her out of the hells. “You can't be sixteen.” She said chuckling softly in disbelief, hearing you confirm when you were born she definitely needed some wine to get over that.
Don't know how to act around you
Will give you little candies
Mom said I have to take you with me vibes
Wyll: He found out talking about his pact with you. “Yes, I was seventeen when I signed my pact, but I do not regret it.” He said taking a drink from his goblet. “Man I'm almost seventeen, I wonder what I’ll be like when I'm your age.” Have you ever seen someone shoot wine out their nose? Now you have.
Gets very protective when Mizora shows up
Big brother mode
Piggy back rides when you are tired

i know its been 7 years but im honestly so invested in the zuko aang swap au, how was avatar zuko before entering the ice? who was the avatar before him? is he disgraced brother to firelord azulon? how does azula feel about trying to kill her own great uncle?
okay here's what i have for avatar zuko's backstory...!
i'm mucking around in timelines because the avatar Zuko fics i saw before had several avatars die in quick succession to go from Roku -> Zuko which never made a lot of sense to me. instead we're just going straight from Kyoshi to Zuko. she can live a couple extra decades, she's already like 200.
it also doesn't make sense to me to have Zuko be royalty, because that seems like a MAJOR conflict of interest for someone who's literally born to balance global politics, which whatever mystical force decides the next avatar would want to avoid! (that's not even getting into the possibility of an avatar becoming head of state. yikes.) so instead i'm giving him Roku's backstory to make him a close friend of a fire nation royal, in this case prince Azulon since i want him to be a little older than Aang when he's frozen in ice.
Roku in this universe is actually Zuko's father. he's a close friend and ally of Sozin, which is why Zuko is a playmate of his from a young age. i think i have him as a naval officer for plot reasons.
Zuko's mother on the other hand is a complete oc! her name is Hoa Sen, and she's a complete badass. she's not a bender, but she is a legendary swordsmaster who in her youth once sparred with Avatar Kyoshi and forced her to use all four elements before Kyoshi finally defeated her. this is the reason Zuko knows swords and bending; no son of Hoa Sen is going to grow up without a sword in his hand 😤
Hoa Sen is actually kind of estranged from her husband due to a major disagreement about his current political career. she lives in a house on ember island.
he also has a little sister. since roku's wife here is an oc i'm gonna steal his og wife's name, so she's Ta Minh. she's not a bender. she and Zuko were close as children, but grew apart since she lives with their mom. we'll get back to her later.
Zuko's animal guide is a dragon named Druk, as per Zuko's canon dragon. he is not particularly bright and likes to cause problems on purpose. every plot line from the original show that happens because Aang is lost or wants to ride giant animals is replaced with Druk deciding this is the perfect time to Cause Problems On Purpose.
Azulon is Zuko's oldest friend. i think Azulon has other friends and while Zuko is in their group he's not particularly close to them thanks to his whole [gestures at canon Zuko]. you know. the autism. so they're still very close.
i think also the REASON Zuko was chosen as a childhood playmate for Azulon is because Sozin found out Zuko was the new avatar and was trying to indoctrinate him into being loyal to the fire nation over all else.
(which is also the reason he has a dragon and azulon doesn't.)
this does NOT work btw. Sozin reveals to Zuko that he's the avatar early and demands his fealty, which Zuko refuses because he's a good kid. and then he gets his face burned off. Sozin doesn't kill him because it would just make his life harder, but tells Zuko that it's out of respect for his father. so he's just banished instead.
before Zuko leaves Azulon visits, says he'll be welcome back when Azulon is fire lord, and gives Zuko the crown prince's headpiece, which zuko wears even in the present!
Hoa Sen has old friends of her take him first to the Western air temple where he can heal, and then to the Southern Air Temple to start his training.
i think the monks actually refuse to teach him for a long time because Zuko has some serious issued to work through and they think he needs time to heal mentally and emotionally before he's ready to start taking on his duties as avatar. eventually the ominous prophecy rears its head so he does learn some stuff.
Zuko gets frozen in the iceberg because he knows something bad is going to happen and is frustrated with his training being stalled, so he decides to just skip air and go straight to water.
Here are some fun facts that Zuko does NOT know at the start of this au but do become tragically relevant to him.
Hoa Sen founded the order of the white lotus after seeing what Sozin did to her son, originally as a way to protect him during his training and then to mitigate the damage the fire nation was doing without an avatar to stop them. not sure if her family knew about it, but they did know she objected to Sozin's war.
Azulon married Ta Minh, I think to protect her and her family out of memory to his friend, but also because it's good optics to be tied to the missing fire nation avatar. it's not a particularly happy marriage, but it is functional.
(Zuko does not fucking take this well btw.)
Ta Minh became well known as a swordmaster and actually took Piandao as an apprentice. Iroh and Ozai had no interest in swordplay, so she never bothered teaching them. Lu Ten did express a bit of interest, and ended up learning a respectable amount before she died.
Azula inherited her grandmother's face. Zuko is (understandably) very upset about this on a cosmic level.
Iroh knows all of this and does not tell Zuko until he is forced to in season 2 after azula becomes very relevant.
Azula is also being mentored by Iroh's ex-wife, because #whereareyourwomenbryke and also i think he deserves this.

Hi, Bthump! I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on a few things about Griffith's childhood. Thanks in advance. Isn't there something strange about how he even managed to survive without being sold into sexual slavery to some rich creep long before Gennon? Or ending up in one of the local brothels, which seemed to surround the place he grew up in?
I mean, in times when child trafficking was just a normal part of life, a child of extraordinary beauty would’ve looked like a walking bag of money to the poor in his slums — and like a target for bandits. He was easy prey, considering peasant children had no protection.
And yet, that doesn’t line up with the way his childhood is shown to us. In the flashbacks, he’s cheerful, dreamy, surrounded by friends—nothing like someone who’s been haunted by harsh reality from an early age.
Which makes me wonder: could his father have been more than just a peasant? someone capable of protecting him. Maybe a warrior or former mercenary—someone people feared? Someone even a bit like Guts. That could explain his combat skills, and maybe his subconscious pull toward Guts later in life.
On the other hand, that contradicts what Miura said about Griffith having no object of affection in infancy, which implies he was likely an orphan. Still, it feels like Miura didn’t focus much on Griffith’s childhood at all (unfortunately)
Or maybe the IoE was “protecting” him from that kind of hardship through its manipulations? To be honest, I don’t really like the theory that Griffith’s entire life was scripted by the IoE - because that strips his character of any personality and backstory, turning him into a faceless puppet. and yet it does make sense, because the IoE literally says as much (but that’s another topic).
Ennnh I mean as much as Berserk's setting features somewhat normalized child abuse, I don't think that means it's impossible or even unlikely for Griffith to not have been sexually abused as a child. Like even in Berserk I think most people aren't pedophiles, even if it's not unusual for people to turn a blind eye to it.
That said, I don't think the glimpses of Griffith's childhood that we see suggest that he had an idyllic life. In fact, I think it's pretty strongly hinted that he was haunted by harsh reality at a young age. Yeah we see him playing on the street with other kids, but he was homeless. Griffith tells Charlotte that there were times he'd go for days without food. I think the scene where he rescues Casca from her attempted rapist suggests some identification between them. And I think the fact that he's obsessed with a dream of a utopian kingdom itself is strongly indicative of childhood trauma, both because in Berserk a major theme is that dreams are coping mechanisms for trauma, and because Griffith's dream in particular is textually tied to fear:
Whether that trauma is from being an orphaned starving homeless kid, or some form of interpersonal abuse on top of that, is unknown, though for what it's worth Miura does suggest the latter is a possibility.
Though yeah if you want to headcanon Griffith's father as someone who could teach him how to fight, I think that's fair. How he learned the sword, among other things, is never explained.
As for the Idea of Evil, I do have posts where I've talked about the role of fate in the story and why I don't feel like it ruins Griffith's character or makes him feel like a puppet, such as this one, if you're interested.
Thanks for the ask!

Siblings children - adults!
(link to the post where they are children)
It's been a while since I haven't post anything, sorry!
I thought about develop the siblings children, but as adults! In the OTAS a whole thread is about the fankids.
Let's get it started!
(Born autumn 27, Year 1)
Cherry adult: She's still a cheerful person, always smiling and caring of others. She will always accepts to help someone in need, no matter for what! She still have the "big sister" role from everyone point of view, even as an adult. Some people are scared of her, since, DON'T FORGET THAT, she's Cassius' daughter. She gets angry very easy and is stubborn for a lot of thing, and now, she's 1m75tall! People take her more seriously now… Or not, with her cute look. She learned very young how to fight, to defends herself or others people around her. Her favorite thing is farming, like collect fruits, vegetables, flowers, and take care of animals. You better not be caught stealing ONE apple from one of her tree… Because she knows too how to use a shotgun. She takes her role as big sister so much to heart that she doesn't think about her own needs and feelings. Sometimes she's working too much because someone is counting on her, and because she's unable to say "no" if someone needs her help
●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●
(Born Summer 7, (same as Mort) Year 2)
Xiao adult: His world is full of fantasy, knowledge, words, stories, books and… Silence. His has a overflowing imagination, and loves to write his own stories. He really HATES noises or people talking while writing of reading. Don't take it personally if he leaves quickly, sighing, to a quieter place… Girls thinks he's cute and tries to approach him, but… He doesn't know how to talk to people. So he seems like a very cold person. Always running away, with sigh. BUT! If you succeed to enter into his world, quietly… You'll see that he's very smart, talks with passion, and likes to teach all his knowledge to people.
●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●
(Born Sumer 22 (same as Cooper), Year 4)
Ming adult: MORE ANNOYING THAN AS A KID!! Her ego grew up so much… But not her height. She's 1m50. She's talking very loud (Xiao hates more to be around her…) so people can hears her in the whole town… But it's an advantage, since she reveals talents for singing and dancing! She's Luna's fan number1 (that's her own words) and dreams to become famous in the whole Free Cities. She dyed some of her hair in yellow, her favorite color. ("The color of the sun, gold, and glory!") She takes really care of her appearance, and likes to charm people… More particularly boys. She's very stubborn, and endless quarrel is common with her, for stupid things. She has a weakness for animals, like her mother. She can't resist to talk like an idiot to animals, like "AAAWWW Helloooo YOuuuuu!! ~ You're so cute!! Who's the cutest? YES! YES! It's Youuuu!!!!AAAWWWWW" It's always embarassing when someone see her in this situation. She's living in a cliche romance or shoujo world, since her brother was used to read her some love fairytale. She's waiting to meet her perfect charming prince. She falls in love very easily.
●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●
(Born winter 28n Year 4)
Emrys adult: He always loves TOO MUCH weapons….. He's juggle with gun and bombs, turn around with swords, test after he stolethe new flamethrower his dad built. His acting like a clowns, doing pun jokes, smiling SMIRK , laughing at the end of sentence, impress girls with weapons… BUT he's totally DUMB when it's about love. (He's dumb for everything honestly…) "Oh!! You love someone? Do I know this guy? OH! I hope he will like you too!! Who is he?? What's his name?! :D" Flirt is not one of his quality… Despite his appearance. He seems older than his age, with… His muscles and abs. Yeah he followed his father training.

How do Stray Kids Hyunjin and ENHYPEN Ni-ki feel about each other? ⋆𖦹 °.🪽⋆❀˖° 𐦍

𑁍 Hyunjin about Ni-ki 𓇢𓆸 🀦
The Magician, Knight of Wands, Page of Swords
Hyunjin thinks that Ni-ki is full of adrenaline! He's impressed that he succeeded in grabbing this amount of attention for his persona at such a young age, not only because of his title as one of the dance machines of the 4th generation but also because of his other talents and natural charm. And also the way he behaves—it's not giving 18 years old; during their dialogs, Hyunjin felt like he's talking to his peer—that much of a sharp mind he has. Also, he thinks that he's quick-paced in everything he does, like he's in a rush. He thinks he likes to do his thing in one try, and it should come out perfectly so he can move on to the next activity. Moreover, he appreciates how creative Ni-ki is! He can come up with an idea in 10 seconds, and shortly after, it will be brought to reality in his signature style. Another thing that I can point out is that Hyunjin would really like Ni-ki to teach him how to keep up with everything. Yeah, Hyunjin may be in the industry for a bit longer and have more experience, but seeing Ni-ki's ambitiousness, he gets the idea, "Wow, this youngster can give me a tip or two; I wouldn't complain." Briefly, Hyunjin thinks Ni-ki's charisma is one of the main components of his recipe for success.
𑁍 Ni-ki about Hyunjin 𓇢𓆸 🀦
The Sun, The King of Wands, 3 of Cups
Ni-ki likes Hyunjin energy! The first time he saw him, he thought he's a cocky guy who puts himself first and enjoys the attention he's getting from everyone, but when they got closer and engaged in a conversation, Ni-ki understood that Hyunjin is not the bad guy that he pictured in his mind; he's actually pretty funny and approachable. Ni-ki as well relates to his passion and the internal fire he's exuding, like, yeah, boy, give us everything! Ni-ki thinks that every idol that calls themselves an idol should be like Hyunjin, driven and focused on showcasing their best abilities. During their LALALALA Tiktok Challenge, they had so much fun interacting with each other and having their inside jokes as well, by the way! I think they had or have a meeting planned with the intention to hang up, but the schedules are too tight, and there's no time or good opportunity, but they still have this planned. At least Ni-ki is very excited about this chance to get to know him better. Also, something happened between them in an offline interaction during the winter and early spring; it boosted up their friendship and left them on a very good note. Maybe it's something like a collab for fans that they're planning in the future, and that idea lightened Ni-ki up! He enjoys cooperating with truly talented people who can match his freak. 😜
❀。• *₊°。 ❀°。˓˓ ⍥⃝⃝ ˒˒=
In conclusion, those dudes are a good fit for each other—in a friendly way! They're both so energetic and pumped up, and they're also both connected by the fact that they love their fans so much. I like it so much! We can expect them to practice something together that will come out sooner than we think. They're willing to invent a new ramification of dancing together if it's needed, and all that to impress ENGENE and STAY.

Random HTTYD Headcanons
Someone once tied together the Boneknapper and Death Song, saying that the former would hang around the game sites of the latter and then collect the bones and I agree with that so much. I’d love to re-find that post so I can credit the blog responsible because they are so, so real for this! I had to mention it because it’s such an under-appreciated take. (ETA: I found the original post here, by @dragonjadearts — thank you for this headcanon I think about it all the time.)
Changewings started to put their eggs in trees to deter Cavern Crashers from eating them.
Red Changewings are the ones that inhabit Changewing Island. Green Changewings are from further south.
Male Thunderdrums are actually the primary caretakers of young Thunderdrums. Both parents will look after and protect the eggs until they hatch but after they do the mother often leaves.
Additionally, Thunderdrums will also transport their eggs and/or hatchlings in their mouth.
Thornado and Skullcrusher have actually met. Thornado had gone out when Bing, Bang, and Boom were asleep and visited Berk, hoping to meet up with Stoick alone only to find another dragon by his chair. The encounter was awkward at first for all three parties, with Stoick trying to break the ice, but once the two dragons recognised what they had in common, they became very friendly and respecting of one another.
The Rumblehorn naturally hunts boars as its primary food source. As opposed to fishing for saltwater fish like other dragons, they also fish for freshwater fish like salmon.
Like the Submaripper and Shellfire, and the Skrill and Singetail, the Rumblehorn and Catastrophic Quaken are naturally opposing species.
Dark Deep was originally the home of the Catastrophic Quaken, not the Gronckle. Due to the sheer number of invading Gronckles, the Quaken was then mostly pushed out.
Gronckles are like the rabbits of the dragon world. They can reproduce from a young age and very often and with high egg counts.
Dragons like the Razorwhip, Timberjack, and Typhoomerang have shorter lifespans in comparison to other species.
Barb-shooting dragons grow their spikes like hair/teeth. The spines that are shot out out are ones that are knocked loose by new roots.
The more distinguishable the colours of each head, the older a Zippleback is.
Zipplebacks evolved from a mutation caused by inefficient embryo separation which means most if not all members of the species distantly share the same common ancestor.
Whip & Lash, Bucket and Mulch’s dragon, is actually female.
Bucket is related to the Thorstons.
The twins removed the S from the alphabet in Reign of Fireworms to annoy Snotlout.
The riders have contemplated who is most likely to turn into a Mildew-type, and most of them have come to the agreement that it would be Tuffnut. Chicken is his Fungus.
Mildew actually has a soft spot for Flystorm. Away from the knowing gazes of others he indulges in petting him and giving him fish, muttering “That’s nice,” as he would with Fungus.
Spitelout treats Kingstail better than anyone ever. As such all of his past methodology surrounding dragons is now in vain, and very hypocritical. (That sword analogy? How dare you compare ol’ Kingstail to that, boyo?)
Fishlegs is actually an only child (he’s always stricken me as one and it boggles me if he isn’t). Those kids he teaches in the Gronckle Scouts are actually his younger cousins. They call him ‘uncle’ due to him babysitting a lot and the difference in their ages. Fishlegs has a lot of cousins.
Fishlegs’ mother, Termagant, owns a Snaptrapper by the name of Arrogance, Innocence, Patience & Conscience. This means that Meatlug has older brothers (and a sister. Technically. Allegedly.). At first they were a bit too mischievous/privy with one another for her liking, making them seem like they were hanging up in her a bit, but they eventually got used to one another.
And yes, she makes all six of her children crab cakes.
The Monstrous Nightmare that Valka saves in HTTYD 2 is the one that took Gobber’s hand.
The Night Fury and Light Fury evolved via something similar to the Peppered Moth Evolution. Whichever one was the original species, however, is still unknown.
Gustav is allergic to peanuts.
Fanghook actually has a fear of setting things on fire.
Hiccup sees a lot of his younger self in Gustav, but it frustrates him that Gustav takes a bit more after Snotlout sometimes.
Gustav’s mother actually wanted to call him “Hiccup” (being the runt) but didn’t want to upstage the chief or confuse people, so she chose “Gustav” (meaning god’s staff or popular guest) to be ironic.
Snotlout was originally proud to have Gustav model himself after him, but when growing up and maturing on the Edge he realised that Gustav was or could be reckless because of it and started to resent him for being a “cheap copy” of him.
Hookfang has a soft spot for Gustav, mostly when he was younger. Since Gustav got Fanghook, his patience has been less withstanding.
The dragon with the least patience for kids is actually Stormfly. Just after would be either Barf & Belch or Hookfang, but by a long shot. Hookfang holds more patience for younger kids than older ones.
Spitelout for some reason shows more outwards appreciation towards Gustav, but argues with him over being leader of the A Team.

AITL (am I the loser) for killing a mass murderer and a would-be mass murderer and lying about it? :(
So, I was teaching this kid because he reminded me of myself and I didn’t want him to go down the same road I did, which is filled with stab wounds. But that’s not relevant :D !!!
Oh some maybe relevant information is that this kid is the prince of the kingdom that massacred mine… :\ But that was like 500 years ago its not relevant anymore :)
There is a noble boy (we can call him al) who is the last mortal descendant of my family, and he is friends with the prince (we can call him L). L really values Al’s friend ship :)
There are some survivors from my old country, and most live in this new one in a specific district and face lots of discrimination :( but the prince wants to end that because he believes if he can be friends with someone from the old land, everyone can! (he is very idealistic but has amazing morals :D ) the surviving nobles from the old country are not very happy, but haven’t caused any trouble.
No one else knows I am the old prince from the old country, they don’t know anything about me. I am very cold and strict when teaching :[. I got the job because I saved L’s life when he was young by attacking kidnappers with a stick. L’s parents saw how skilled I was (not trying to brag :( but I have trained with swords for hundreds of years) and hired me to teach L.
It is L’s 18th birthday and his family is holding a feast. I chose not to go because I became immortal on my 17thand after I was banished (oh yeah ive been banished from heaven twice they don’t really like me but that’s fine :D) the year I would have turned 18 if I aged, I was stabbed 100 times within around an hour, my only two friends ever left me (it was my fault F and M if you are reading this) and my parents committed suicide. I was struggling with my experiences so I chose not to go to not make everyone else feel bad because of my behaviour. :(
I heard a commotion after a while so I rushed over to try and help, but I saw Al in a bloodstained room stabbing the king, L’s dad. L was no where in sight. Al ran, and I went to the king to try and help him. He told me Al did this, and everyone from the old kingdom will die for his actions. He was done for, there was no chance he would survive the day, but I still couldn’t let this happen. I stabbed him to prevent a genocide. L came in and thought I did everything. I didn’t correct him because I knew I deserved it. He ran off probably to alert others and I went to confront Al. I revealed who I actually was, and he attempted to get me to help him kill all of the people living in the country, including L. I used a method on him to make his organs dissolve and no mark to be left on him and I knew he would die shortly.
I decided to let L fight me, but made it extremely easy for him to win. I let him believe I was dead, and he buried me in a 3 layer coffin with a stake through my heart (overkill :\) I waited for about 50 years so he wouldn’t be checking if I was dead. I knew I could easily push the stone away but apparently 50 years of no sun or movement makes you really weak. I was in there for about 100 years total but managed to escape eventually :)
You may be asking why this is relevant anymore, and that’s because L confronted me after realising I was his teacher (I’ve ascended again and this was in front of most gods). I said I did it in front of the emperor of heaven and he confined me to house arrest (idk why I wasn’t banished I asked to be) then my very close friend came and broke in to rescue me :D.
Lots of stuff happened but now everyone knows I didn’t actually kill everyone, and is angry that I falsely confessed. Some people are mad that I killed anyone, even if it was to prevent genocide. Am I in the wrong here? It was a split second decision to stop a racially targeted war, but I still feel guilty as the king was trying to improve relations between the people before the feast.
TLDR: My selfishly putting my bad memories over celebration caused me to not be able to stop a massacre. So I killed a guy to stop genocide and the person who did it who was planning to do it again. Then I lied and said I’d done all of it.
