Teacher Appreciation Week Headcanons (with: Iwa, Hawks, Levi, Tsukki, Kenma, Diluc)

This is obviously very self indulgent but maybe someone else will get some joy out of this.

Hajime Iwaizumi

He has flowers delivered to your classroom. Even if the kids don’t appreciate you, they can at least see that someone at home does. Whenever the behavior gets too bad, you can look at the flowers and remember you get to go home to a nice strong, loving pair of arms.

Keigo Takami (Hawks)

He knows he’s really busy and has to find time for visits and short dates between patrols and other hero duties. You’re always catering to his career and schedule, so for teacher appreciation week, he makes sure to clear an entire weekend to spend with you. On your little weekend getaway, he spoils you with attention and takes you to the best restaurants with the most delicious food.

Levi Ackerman

If anyone can get a rowdy class to straighten up, it’s Levi. He knows it’s been a tough year on you and it’s only going to get worse as summer vacation gets closer. For teacher appreciation week he makes you lunch every day and brings it up to the school. Not only do you get to have a precious 30 minutes with him, but he sticks around after to glare at the kids he knows all too well by now with all the stories he’s heard.

Kei Tsukishima

Tsukki thinks it’s stupid to only appreciate teachers for a single week. He makes sure to appreciate you for all you do in the classroom as often as he can. He always has dinner ready when you get home on days when you text him about how hard the day was. Not only that, he lets you take an after work nap and grades some of your papers for you. Spelling tests and math tests don’t take him too long and it takes some of the work off of you.

Kozume Kenma

He has no idea how you put up with the blatant disrespect from kids, nagging from parents, and unreasonable expectations from the administration. He has massive appreciation for you and knows that a lot of times you sacrifice your own well being for your job. He arranges a self care day for you. He pays for a couples massage and takes you to do whatever your brand of self care is. Getting your hair or nails done. Shopping. Going to a museum. Nature walks. Anything. (He complains during his game streams sometimes about how teachers are grossly underpaid.)

Diluc Ragnvindr

He honestly isn’t sure how to appreciate you properly for the job you do. He knows you work hard and put a lot of effort into a bunch of ungrateful kids. He wishes he could change *that* aspect of it, but he can’t. When he hears you talking about the school accepting parent volunteers to help with teacher appreciation week though, he secretly signs up to help. At first he plans on donating some money, but somehow he gets roped into an active role. You go to work and find him doing something like scooping out scrambled eggs and sausages for the staff breakfast in the morning.

but dwight is always trying to one up some high schooler

loves dodgeball.

he tries to 1v1 jim in basketball (and he fails miserably)

he instructs a health course once a year and jim always has to cut it short

he's the best hype man though

its all very appreciated and sweet

he's looking out for all of the students

and they all have a crush on him too (who wouldnt????)

he's always goofing around and trying to have fun

he's the basketball coach too !!!

always going to the art room for any reason

he needs pam to design some flyers for friday's game, or his pen ran out of ink (he uses a laptop)

shes so sweet.

all of her lessons are really well thought out and passionate

she loves teaching about claude monet and impressionism

shes doing art with the kids too

michael is always taking her finished pieces to hang up somewhere

shes also a volleyball coach !!! so shes constantly going to the gymnasium to make sure theres enough equipment or to check on the players in gym class

shes really there to see jim (but thats besides the point)

she's apart of phyllis' book club (yes phyllis has a book club)

all of her students ask if she and jim are going to date/are dating

anytime roy visits shes always stressed afterwards

jim brings her lunch !!!

when a student needs something to fidget with she just steals a toy from michaels office

he takes his job super seriously and is a little strict

but everyone still loves him and respects him a lot

no matter how strict he is, he cannot stop gossiping with all the students

she noticed how some teachers left out bowls of candy, so she did the same thing, but with mints

advocated for class pets, but kept getting shut down

when asked her opinion about other teachers it's usually negative, but when it comes to dwight it's always slightly positive

phyllis lapin-vance: mrs. vance

gets called mrs. vance refrigeration a lot

doesnt talk too much

always asking for help with her computer

her lessons are short and sweet

has a candle burning during class

but it's like a grandma smell

everyone loves watching her and bob

they're so sweet together !!!

she runs a small book club with teachers and students after school

loves when they all choose mystery books to read

she tries to teach different books every year

her classroom is right next to angela's and that can lead to some unpleasantness

most of her lessons are just rants, but theyre educational !!!

“This teacher is so weird and awkward, they’re mean too…literally no one likes them”

SHUT UPPPPP she gave me a home. Go fuck yrself. She let me wait in her classroom after school before I went to GSA because it was always really loud in the beginning. She was the first to inform me of any trans-related news. When I first described my situation to her, she was silent, and just gave me a hug.

My history teacher taught me how to be assertive and how to be a good man. He gave me good feedback on how to improve. He trusted me because he said ‘you’re a good kid’ which doesn’t sound like much but ultimately that’s awesome. He actually inspired me to start writing poetry :3

My band director gave me a home away from home for four years. The entire time, he’s the first one I’d go to for anything. I literally sobbed my eyes out in that office multiple times. Fav.

My ELA teacher gave me an escape. I could be myself and be free and accommodate myself. She let me sit down if I was having trouble with my legs or back. She let me draw and write while we did the lesson. That was my favorite class. I took naps on the couch in her classroom during my study halls when I first started struggling with sleep.

My civics teacher let me grow and thrive in ways I didn’t know i could. He pushed me and encouraged me every step of the way. I cut out the notes he made on one of my tests and taped it to my wall because it means the world to me.

My science teacher let me be free. He always encouraged me, gave positive feedback, gave compliments on my work, and at the end of the year we had a conversation that genuinely changed my life :)

More teacher appreciation. Stop calling them awful things because they told you to stop talking. They literally changed my life. Shut up.

What If The Dagger Squad Were Teachers Headcanons… 👩‍🏫📚👨‍🏫

— Starting this out by saying Iceman is the Principal while Slider is Vice Principal of Top Gunner High School 🛩 and Maverick is one of older teachers there, also the Driver’s Ed instructor as well. Now onto the Daggers!

Mr Rooster Bradshaw ~ Music Teacher 🎶

Mr. Bradshaw classroom is a pretty chill environment but it can get kinda chilly due to the AC being on or windows being open sometimes. It’s a very simple set up with posters on the wall, instruments played neatly in alphabetical order and plenty of notes on his write board with the lesson plan.

Bradley easily a very tough but patient teacher, always trying to be very gentle and patient with his students even if they can roughly annoy him sometimes. He’s tough and will call out a child if they’re not being best behavior with the others students, he wants everyone to be treated fairly in his classroom!

In the very front of his classroom, nearby the whiteboard and SMART board, Mr Bradshaw has a gorgeous black cherry one of a kind piano. And he will play that thing every single Friday for his students as everyone sang ‘Great Balls Of Fire’ as loudly as they want! They also has his students play songs on the piano and other instruments too of course.

Rooster tends to take a lot of requests from his students and staff for songs to play everyday they come into the classroom. He labeled it ‘Bradshaw School Playlist’ as hooks it up to the speakers every time he can.

Speaking of song requests, Rooster always takes songs from the suggestion box in the front of the classroom and depending on the song, that will be the song they analyze that day for class.

Mr Hangman Seresin ~ Gym 👟

One of the youngest P.E./Gym teachers in the school and he takes that with pride. He knows he’s one of the young teacher for standard stereotypical ones are supposed to look like but he doesn’t care. Since Hangman a lot more active he’s able to keep up with the young students physically, mentally and emotionally!

He knows all about jokes and fun Tumblr fan pages the students created about him & Mr Rooster. Hell, he encourages it! His students laugh and tease the teachers for their tension haha. Especially the winks Jake leaves Bradley with sometimes during the school week.

Anyways, back to teacher stuff! Jake is a simple and fun gym teacher, every three weeks he has his students playing all the sports and games he can think of. Volleyball, baseball, mini basketball tournaments, hockey, tennis, ping pong, football games outside in the field and etc.

And if you wonder about Time Of The Month, Jake totally understands! He grew up with sisters, a sweet southern mama and a few girlfriends to know how annoyingly painful periods can be. He will let the girls sit on the sidelines of the gym if needed.

Mr Phoenix Trace & Mr Bob Floyd ~ Social Studies & History 📕📗📘

These two have their classrooms next to one another, so it made it easier to keep track of each other’s students while also popping in to chat. Sending their students into classrooms to collect or swap sheets with.

Social Studies with Phoenix is a fun one, she tends to challenge, joke around and teases her students with questions during class to see who was paying attention and who wasn’t (You know who you are!!). She wants all her students to pay attention and treat people with plenty of respect.

Phenix is very helpful as a teacher and always listens to her students. She’s very open to hear them out and give them suggestions or cut them some slack if needed. She’s the Mama Bear of the teachers, cause she has such a big heart!

History with Bob is pretty a chill one, he tends to play music in the background as the students work on their classwork (and whatever was leftover sometimes will be homework on Fridays). Bob always has his eyes and hears on high alert, so he might catch you quickly, if he sees your doing something your not supposed to be doing.

Bob takes participation very seriously as he likes if everyone can communicate, interact nicely and understand the lessons. Sharing thoughts and answering questions. Even coming up to the SMART Board to explain and demonstrate certain topics of history. Bob doesn’t tolerate misbehavior and rude people in his classroom, especially if a teacher or fellow students is presenting something to the class. So be nice! 

Mr. Fanboy Garcia ~ Science teacher 🔬

One of young nerdy science teacher, he tends to try to dabble in teaching a bit everything over the years. But the ones the schools will give him are Biologically and Earth Science, with some Chemistry too.

Fanboy always treats his students with care and respect, expecting the same thing in return. If there’s no respect or everyone is misbehaving in his classroom, you wouldn’t get the happy and somewhat loud teacher. He will be quiet and annoyed, everyone will get memo to act better.

He’s the teacher to nerd out about certain things in between class and if he’s able to incorporate his love for fandoms into the classroom he would. Fanboy will joke around and mention Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Star Trek and etc during lessons to get the point across. Some students will catch onto it and smiles, others might be confused until he explains it in between the lessons.

Those tricky science tests? Well if the class is good enough and depending on the exam, they will be an open book test with notes. Fanboy wants to see who’s actually paying attention and taking notes, and who’s not. So he can re-teach and go over certain topics later on.

Mr Payback Fitch - English teacher 💻

This man one of the chill teachers in this school. So in result his classroom tends to be be very relax and entertaining for his students. Payback tends to have books to read, notebooks to use, sheets of papers in his closet, pens and pencil in the front of the classroom and etc. Along with posters on the wall to help with tips and tricks for writing and reading.

He’s very causal with his students and treats them plenty of patients and support during lessons. He expects the same in return, to have respect and patience with him.

Payback enjoys teaching his students all about writing stories, reading chapters of books their using to the class, explaining themes and ideas, the passion and mindset behind a character, points of view and the list goes on.

He tends to play movies in his classrooms usually they were related to the lessons but sometimes they were used as talking points. As for projects, he has one very specific project he enjoys doing, Shakespeare Fair! Each grade is given a Shakespeare book to reads, have lessons based on and a project to do. This is where he gets to see the creativity of all the students in the school shine!

Mr Coyote Machado - Art Teacher 🎨

Get your sketch books and art supplies out because you will be taking note here. This man is cocky, sweet and a gentlemen, he will joke and call you out on your shit if he notice something ain’t fitting the vibe to the grooves of the classroom.

Coyote is the type of teacher that encourages creativity and critical thinking. His classroom is where students can experiment, make mistakes and learn from each other. Use that mind of theirs!

Each month he puts up two interesting fact about Art to impress and inspire everyone. He doesn’t want his students to give, he wants them to try and try until they feel satisfied with them. Or to at least say they tried!

His art class consist mainly of class projects and assignment reflecting a certain degree of styles. Painting, pop art, cubism, contemporary, fantasy, impressionist and etc. He tends to encourage his students to use the supplies and examples in the room to help with inspiration. Also well as the music Coyote tends to play from his speakers from his computer. He usually takes music requests!

hello lovely tumblr users, I am here to ask that you take a moment of your time to look at this petition!

The petition describes the situation much better than I can, but some added info from someone who is seeing this happen in real time is that the administration of the college I attend is effectively firing up to 8 interim faculty members as we speak.

For a college this small, that is an unbelievable amount of faculty to lose. The majority of the interim faculty members that are at risk or have already lost their jobs devoted an unprecedented amount of physical and emotional labor towards making the college run during the pandemic, and for many that meant they were signed on for an extra two years than normal in order to help our college stay on its feet.

It is typical for interim (hence the name) faculty to only be with the college for a short time, but due to outstanding circumstances (the pandemic) they have become quite literally pillars of their respective departments, and of those I personally know and work with, the heart and soul of the college.

Losing them would destroy the stability of our school, and our school is making it unusually hard for these faculty members to reapply as either part-time faculty members or full-time core faculty members.

This all comes down to the fact that our administration has stated that they believe the individuals teaching the class do not make a difference in the students quality of education, only the curriculum.

Anyone on here who has had a bad professor, or a really truly good one, knows that is entirely, unequivocally, undeniably, not true.

The administration states that this was a "financial decision" (mind you our college is in the top 10 most expensive colleges in the state) and it is blatantly obvious they want to hire new part-time faculty members simply because it is cheaper to do so.

It may save money to fire the interim faculty now in the short run, but the loss of these faculty members that are now considerably less likely to be rehired will end up costing the college more money in the long run due to the instability caused by this decision.

So, I humbly ask, for the sake of my education and that of hundreds of other wonderful artists, please sign this petition and show our administration that you can't just treat educators like shit and get away with it.
