SO I THOUGHT OF A GHOST MAX CONCEPT AND I GOTTA TALK ABT IT!! (305 spoilers)

Just some silly little concept of Max but he turns into a ghost after TDP

So after 305, y’know how Max dies in monster form right? He like teleports himself to space and he explodes in space and dies n stuff?

What if after that all happened, there’s a ghost Max all the way in space, in his normal form, just a little ghost bunny. He realizes he’s dead and he immediately wants to go find Sam, so he goes back down to earth to do so but when he does, he sees that a Max from a different timeline showed up. While that ending scene with Sam and other timeline Max is happening, there’s a ghost Max watching over them. Ghost Max kind of feels jealous or betrayed but he knows that this other timeline Max will take good care of his Sam.

So Ghost Max just hangs around, he sometimes tags along on the Freelance Police Adventures, but most of the time he just stays at the apartment. He likes to think of himself as a guard ghost, he protects the apartment in case of any burglars and such. He also just likes to haunt the neighbors or freak out the nearby civilians outside.

Sam and Max always feel watched in a way when they’re at home, Max even jokes that there’s a ghost in the apartment haunting them.

Ghost Max can easily pass through walls and go through objects and such, but he does have the ability to lift things and pick stuff up. He uses these powers to his advantage and scares people, including Sam and Max. Rarely though, he’ll take the time to clean the apartment, even if it’s something he hates doing the most, he has nothing else to really do. He’s very very bored all the time, not being able to communicate to the residents of the apartment or to anyone at all. The most he can do is write things but as we all know, Max isn’t very bright and his writing skills are..minimal at best.

Sam and Max eventually start thanking Ghost Max for all the work he does around the home, they think of him as some sort of ghost helper, they don’t even know that it’s Max in the ectoplasmic form at all.

Most of the time, Ghost Max just floats around, wishing he had the ability to hug Sam again.

Imma just call this the ghost max au

WIP TAG GAME

I was tagged by the ever lovely @zadien and since I finally have free time, this sounded both fun and like a good way to make me write. Some of these are fanfics & some of these are original fiction.

Phew! Another year done! A huge, huge thank you to @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast​ for hosting yet another year, and for five years of this~ This is my second year participating, and I’m surprised I managed to get as much done as I did, with how hectic this past few months have been for me. I’ll eventually put these up on my Ao3, but for now I wish to melt into a puddle.

SOMEONE tell me not to try and do individual banners for each prompt next year. Phew. I might do a roundup of the ones I really like later though!

Total word count: Officially submitted 37,978; My doc says 38,708; and bc of deleting a few paragraphs of false starts, my total count is probably around 39,500 of actual writing Total prompts completed: 29, some were make-up days Shortest prompt: 29. Things that surprised me: -Again, how much I wrote. More than last year, by about 8k! -Shining Comet seemed to take center stage for a lot of TDP writing, probably because I know I’m going to be taking her through EW first -I wrote a Magnus Archives crossover, and it wasn’t for Shining’s whole doppelgänger deal? What??? -I wrote more gen fic than anything, and ended up writing mostly for my various AUs, instead of just fic without my characters.

6. Avatar -  “Oh, Ala Mhigo’s haunted haunted” combined with some very long conversations with my friend over which SB antagonists would be affiliated with which Dread Power 11. Preaching to the Choir - How many Drakenier and Star Wars references can I stuff into this before it’s not XIV fanfic anymore? How much free real estate can I call for the pre-sundered world before it’s just my own original story? All that and more for the low, low price of fantastic imagery and some ideas about what kind of threats Azem had to face on the regular. 15. Thunderous - An attempt to better pin down Helisent’s unique powers, as well as some bedrock for her and Lyse’s relationship. I also just. Like it a lot. 23. Soul - this started off as “Oh yeah I need to say that Cylva is Nive’s reflection” and then it turned into FEELINGS and I came out with a new ship and some really good prose 24. Illustrious - What the fuck is the Echo. Let’s explore that and how it can manifest.

Oh man, definitely Road To Nowhere. When I got the random shit post head canons for that, I felt dumb even posting them. But hey, it’s my blog and (I assume) anyone who follows me knows I have the sense of humour of an 11 year old. But even as I was writing most of it, I wasn’t sure I’d post it. It just seemed to so weird and random a fic to write.

Hmm, I suspect you know that the Dark Magic AU is haunting me and my busy life. That one came from seeing how the TDP Reddit has essentially descended into constant back and forth on the morality of Dark Magic. I don’t meta so fic is essentially how I get my thoughts on fandom out into the void.

“Okay, hold up, let me get this straight.” Marcos pinched the bridge of his nose. “We’re going to drag our badly injured, heavily bleeding friend through a haunted forest.”

“Yup,” Soren said, popping the “p” and looking entirely too pleased with himself for their current situation.

“And up a mountain. At night.”

“Uh-huh.”

“To find a miracle healer who may or may not exist.”

“Yes, exactly.”

“Because a hyperactive orphan with a pet wolf suggested it.”

“See, you got the gist of it!”

“You’re crazier than that drunk elf lady.” Marcos shook his head, frustrated. “I can’t believe I’m actually considering this.”

“Do you have a better idea?”

Marcos blew out a long breath and glared at Soren. “. . . No.”

“Well, there you go,” Soren said with an air of finality, and turned back towards the stable. “Give me a hand. We’re all dead for sure if Kasef’s men catch us.”

Yeahhh so I have a new TDP AU, what can I say. Still in planning/very early writing stages, so I’m not giving away too much just yet. But there will be lots of found family!! And Rayllum of course 😉

Viren thinks about what Harrow said to him and comes to a decision.

Viren had practiced his stump speeches so thoroughly, he didn’t have to think too hard about what he was saying as he did it. All the announcers had to do was say a topic and he could talk for the allotted amount of time.

There was a change, though, and he wasn’t sure how many people could see it. Aaravos probably could, given he could feel the frowning from backstage. Claudia was frowning, just slightly and tilting her head. Most concerning of all was Harrow, though Harrow managed to keep his composure.

“...Thank you, Mr. Katolis,” the moderator said, “Now, Mr. Dark--”

“Excuse me, I haven’t had my allowed 2 minutes yet,” Harrow interrupted, “There’s a clock in the back of the hall, so I can see my own time.”

“Mr. Katolis, please,” the moderator started, but Harrow was already talking over him.

“I think the people here need to hear all sides of the issues,” Harrow said, “to fully understand everyone’s positions, not just those you as the moderator have deemed worthy of your time. I have followed every rule put forth for me tonight, despite the fact I’ve barely been given the time to make my actual points, while Mr. Dark here is simply regurgitating parts of his stump speech instead of actually engaging on the topics at hand to present his arguments to the public.”

Viren felt all the eyes in the room turn on him, though he really only processed Harrow’s look of disdain. The moderator was clearly displeased at the speech, but sighed and said, “Mr. Dark, your response?”

His response. As always, Harrow had left him speechless, but not here. No, he’d left him speechless before, during the break, talking about Sarai.

Her death had haunted him, and his guilt followed soon after. Harrow was right, he’d been different since she’d passed, moreso than after his wife had left him.

He was tired of following after cases and leads and doing the right thing when it didn’t lead anywhere 90% of the time. He was tired of the bad guys always winning when….when it didn’t seem to MATTER. Sarai was one of the best people he knew, though he didn’t know her well. And she died, pushing him out of the way.

The good guys didn’t win. But he could be a villain for the good guys. The sin eater. The one who would protect the good guys by doing what they couldn’t. He did that for Harrow. He thought he was still doing it for Harrow, even if Harrow said he didn’t want it.

“Mr. Dark?” The Moderator interrupted his thoughts, “Do you have a response?”

Viren readjusted his position on the podium. “I do,” he said, “Harrow Katolis is right.” There was a muttering that spread through the hall, “He usually is, as he’s not afraid of telling you. Has been for most of my life.” He took a deep sigh, something in him painful and soothing all at once, like infection being drained from a wound, “I cede my time to Mr. Katolis to make his point.”

NOW Harrow looked properly shocked. It was good having the boot be on the other foot for a change. “I,” he started, before clearing his throat, “Thank you, Mr. Dark. My point is that, businesses shouldn’t be centered for people’s welfare, and if they have anything to do with that, be it healthcare, or just infrastructure of our town, roads, bridges, emergency vehicles, they need to be well regulated to ensure the benefit of all the people, not the profit of a few. Mr. Dark’s policies will allow people’s lives to be determined by a dollar sign, and that is something I cannot stand for.”

There was scattered applause, though most people were still confused. “Mr. Dark, do you have a rebuttal?”

Viren thought for a long moment again, and smiled as he realized he knew exactly what he wanted. “I don’t,” he finally said. “In fact, I think Mr. Katolis has successfully convinced me. It took a while, but let it not be said my mind can’t be changed by facts.”

The murmurs grew louder around them, cameras clicking wildly. “Are you saying you’re reversing your position on privatization?” The moderator asked.

“More than that,” Viren said, “I hereby would like to rescind my candidacy as your State Senator and officially endorse Harrow Katolis for the position. The murmurs grew to an outcry, everyone in the room speaking up to the point very few managed to hear his last few words. “He is the leader we all deserve, and who will guide us all to a brighter future.”

With that, he shut his microphone off, and stepped over to give Harrow a handshake that he accepted with surprise, and walked offstage.

Aaravos was waiting in the wings, and his face read pure murder. “What do you think you’re doing?” he hissed at him.

Viren smiled, unsure himself. “The right thing, I hope.”

Summary : At night Rayla stares up at the stars. Claudia is in the next room over snoring loud enough for her to hear. There’s a desk by her with a pile of papers threatening to fall before the sun breaks. Underneath her there are people still moving around, a city full of anger and love. Underneath her there is a city full of people who love Van Gogh, who would’ve gone to the gallery and fallen in love with the painting Claudia did.

She thinks about how once he said “the only time I feel alive is when I'm painting”.

“I’m sorry then,” she whispers to no one “because what I am feeling right now is beyond living”

rayla leaves to find peace, claudia doesn't leave and finds a roomate. they both find love

AHJHFGH. THIS FIC. This ficcc. Firstly, there's something so raw about it, and while thinking of which fics I should compile into this first list, this immediately came to mind.

I couldn't remember anything super specific about it (having read it ages ago) but I remember being very emotional and like "AGHHHHHH". I'm not goot at being articulate when it comes fics, but yknow, it's very real and beautiful and delicate.

Mayhaps I nearly cried.

OK so this is a mermaid AND a soulmate au, in which Rayla is the mermaid (in canon she hates the water so I find this hilariously ironic).

I love the concept of soulmates in this fic, and how it differs for humans and mermaids and additionally @moonshxdows is a beautiful writer, whose style is just EVERYTHING. This I probably one of my fave works from her.

Summary: He gets his very first real vision at ten. It’s fast and sudden and feels like falling, but he never hits the ground. The human in front of him is screaming wordlessly, his face a wild pale mask, eyes black and bottomless like a starless night.

Now I'm sure many people don't really want to read about Lord Viagra, so lucky you, this fic focuses on Aaravos, and his life before being trapped in a magic mirror, as well as why he got there.

It presents an interesting backstory, and that's why I like it.
