I used to look at googled photos like this one of my childhood hometown and feel such an intense wave of longing that it was like physical pain.

Now it's like it's faded so far into the past I don't feel it anymore. Kind of like the kid who lived there was in a whole other life. I wish I could go back but I know that's not realistic. Even if I could it wouldn't be the same. Not sure if I lost the ability to feel homesickness when I lost all sense of home at some indefinite point around 10 years ago or just because I wore it out.
