Hello, I have returned to your inbox yet again, with two Murdle Falls thoughts that will consume all my (two) braincells until they are shared :P

1. This one relates to the Dreamscaperers II concept we floated around (involving dream demon Irratino being summoned to invade his own mind). So we all know Irratino is building a portal in his basement, right? Well, I can’t imagine you do something like that without word getting out. Not the full truth, not exactly. Just rumors. Rumors that there’s something below the Mystery Shack (side note, “Shack” is probably a very misleading name in this universe, Irratino’s house is huge XD). Something dangerous…something powerful.

Whoever the summoner is catches wind of that rumor, and decides “hey, I could use that!” Obviously, though, Irratino isn’t keen on sharing his portal. So the summoner decides to take it by force. They find an old chant to summon a dream demon, and use that to call one up and make a demand of it: infiltrate the mind of Irratino and steal the key to the treasure beneath the house. Luckily for them, they get Irratino himself and not Amethyst, and Irratino—who finds this situation hilarious—agrees, figuring he can just pretend to fail or get false information.

Thing is, one of the kids overheard. And they’ve already met the dream demon—he screwed with Olivia’s dad before, and now his sights are set on Julius’s uncle?! Sure, they beat him up last time, but they can’t let him get whatever he wants from Irratino. So back to the mindscape! And Irratino suddenly finds himself having to balance pretending to be both the victim and villain in this situation, and keep his secret from the kids. (For bonus points, keeping up the charade seriously strains the poor guy, and the kids assume the dream demon is actively trying to kill Irratino through the mindscape)

2. Weirdmageddon-related, done partially to give the kids a bigger role and not let them be side-characters in their own finale: so Irratino creates the barrier that keeps Amethyst in, right? Well, Amethyst is aware of that. So, like Bill does to Ford, she manages to kidnap him and hold him prisoner in wherever she’s headquartered (being a dream demon herself, she likely knows their weaknesses) with plans to torture him into giving up the secret to getting past the barrier. (Hey, at least he didn’t outright admit to knowing how to get past it like Ford did :P)

So now it’s up to the kids, plus the cat, plus the Maniacs, plus a probably conflicted Logico (he’s still pissed at Irratino, still convinced Irratino hates him, but he doesn’t want the guy to unnecessarily suffer) to somehow rescue him! It’s been mentioned that Amethyst might brainwash the residents of Gravity Falls, plus possibly the monsters and supernatural creatures, so let’s go with that. On one hand, our squad is comprised of very powerful and clever people; on the other hand, their foes way outnumber them, and the Murdle cast is very good at murdering people with strange implements :P

So that’s basically the goal of the final part of Weirdmageddon: rescue Irratino. It probably goes well right up until Logico gets petrified :P Luckily, the day is still saved, because the kids and cat rescued Irratino. So hey! They were one of the big factors in saving the world. More useful than Logico, at least XD

(For bonus points, you know how the Zodiac failed because Stan and Ford could not get along for five minutes? That, except the gang does not escape because Logico and Irratino are bitter exes who are still really mad at each other over their last fight :P

Irratino: “See, between me and him, I’m not always the dumb one!”

Logico: “Between ‘him’ and ‘me’. Grammar, Irratino.”

Irratino: “I’LL GRAMMAR YOU, YOU STUCK-UP JERK! (lunges at him)”

The kids (probably either Jake or Olivia tbh): “(want to strangle Logico and Irratino for being so incredibly stupid)”

Dreamscaperers II 2 Dream 2 Scaperers

Oh yeah, the basement machinery would absolutely be a pretty popular rumor around town. It starts small enough, people joking about the odd crashes and bangs that come up from the basement while giving tours of the shack (Which is absolutely a misnomer, but it's ironic enough to seem intentional), the scent of smoke and oil clinging to Irratino some days, but it's just jokes. Weird guy is gonna have weird hobbies, after all. But people get a little more skeptical as time goes on, as there's more strange happenings- flashes of light, power outages, gravity seemingly turning off for a few seconds at a time in some places...Yeah. People are suspicious.

The summoner in question (I'm kinda thinking Midnight III tbh? I think we came up with a notion of him being the Gideon stand in with stardom and fame or smth- If it is Midnight, he thinks whatever insane tech is going on would be perfect for special effects) summons a mind invading dream demon- And luckily gets Irratino, who is in very close proximity. He hears the idea, thinks it's hilarious- Pretend to invade his own mind? Easy as hell. He just has to rest for once, wander around his own mindscape in case the summoner "calls" (like how Gideon was able to talk to Bill in the canon Dreamscaperers) and pretend he fumbled it.

Except the kids were in the area, overheard, and are now are determined to protect their cool and funky Uncle Irratino from the evil and wretched dream demon. They saw/heard what the demon did to Indigo, just by messing around, but this time he's actively searching for something as part of a deal- Who knows what could happen?

To say Irratino was shocked when the kids showed up in his mindscape is an understatement. And honestly, he went into panic mode. Because shit, shit, shit, there's so many things in his mind, so many memories, that will completely destroy his cover. At least in the mindscape, he's rather in control of things, but he's basically having to conduct three high speed trains of thought at once, perfectly- He has to have his dream demon self on standby in case the summoner calls, be Uncle Irratino and keep a close eye on the kids and try not to get beat up again, and guard his thoughts and memories and shape his mindscape to protect all the damning memories of him, I don't know, hopping dimensions for millions of millennia as the purple triangle the kids have already fought before. And trying to not get beat up by the kids again, who are much more paranoid and protective- It's exhausting. There's some very close shaves.

He pulls it off, but barely. He's groggy and disoriented the next day, staring off into space, and breakfast is cereal because he's bad in the kitchen when he's not drained. Luckily, it's not that suspicious- Reasonably, Irratino would be drained from having a demonic invader in his dreams. Indigo was tired, too- but if that was due to insomnia from repeated nightmares that Irratino certainly didn't suffer from, well...It's not like the kids know too much about the side effects of a dream demon visiting your head, anyways.

Irratino decides he's just not going to be taking any more summoning calls for a while. That was too close to unraveling everything.

Will everything have to be unraveled one day, anyways? He doesn't have time to think about that, not with the portal this close to ready.

Weirdmageddon

Okay you absolutely cooked so hard with these ideas- Irratino being kidnapped by Amethyst would make a lot of sense and create a lot of tension. After all, Amethyst and Irratino are roughly equal in terms of strength, so when Amethyst manages to get the drop on him and kidnap him, there's not much he can do to break free. It's also a sobering moment for the kids, too, because Irratino's always seemed invincible. He's never bruised of scratched or anything from falls or bumps, never burned himself on hot stoves, nothing. But Amethyst shows up and not only knows how to inflict damage, but is strong enough to actually do it, and capture him.

But hey, with the kids + Buster's knowledge of Gravity Falls and the creatures here, the Maniac's knowledge of Dream Demons and their powers, and Logico's knowledge of the usual suspects (because even if they are brainwashed, there's still some familiarity in their actions), they can formulate a plan. And even if the kids and Logico are still kinda pissed off at Irratino, they do still love him, and whatever Amethyst is doing has gotta be bad.

And they do manage to rescue Irratino! At the cost of Logico, though, because Amethyst figured out he was pretty important to Irratino and was more than happy to petrify him and hold him hostage. Also because they absolutely would have that argument of "Grammar, Irratino" and Irratino is thinking that Logico is just always closed minded and stuck in his ways and Logico is thinking that Irratino never thinks about anything. Especially considering that Weirdmageddon goes down right when they see each other again, with no real time to resolve anything from when they parted ways...Yeah. They argue, one of the kids shouts "Can you wait FIVE MINUTES to fight when we're not all about to die?!?!" and, uh, shouting in the presence of a very powerful dream demon isn't the best move and, well, Logico gets petrified. (Side note, Amethyst would absolutely see the gang and go "I've got some children I need to make into corpses!")

But at least they managed to rescue Irratino, even thoug he's in pretty rough shape, but nothing that won't heal. (For a bit of a sweet moment between all this angst, Buster probably curls up on Irratino's lap, and Irratino just absently strokes him, shell shocked as anything but at least reminded that he made it out, no one's fatally hurt, no one's dead. There's still a fighting chance.)

re your most recent drabble: Fucking hilarious, thank you for sharing as always. On a far more serious note in contrast to the pure comedy of the drabble... I appreciate the insinuation that Tav and Shadowheart don't get together the moment she steps out of the Shadowfell. I always found the timing a bit weird.

Give the girl a tenday or two 😅 she’s emotionally distraught and everything she knew was a lie. It makes sense that she’d withdraw, even, or go to a snarky and defensive place while she unlearns Shar’s ways. I think the final push Shadowheart would need is realizing that Tav (or whoever her LI is) is there for her in her darkest hour, and isn’t going anywhere!

Sorry, just discovered your public knowledge au, its hilarious. I think 'realistically' I like the Only Miraculous wielders & whoever they tell knows version as it could feel a bit less cracky though it'd still beg why they don't bring other heroes in to collectively stomp Gabriel as they know his location. Though that just has me imagining him palming it off on his various rich friends like a hot potato. Anyway two main thoughts:

`1: For the just Holders know AU, Gabriel owns up to his motives right away & almost convinces the kids. Except Fu shows up & reveals that its basically a monkeys paw and more people will die if he makes is wish. Gabriel insists he s smart enough to work around that (He also just doesn't care) but Tikki & Plagg are like, "Literally we have no control over this, it goes to shit every single time, sorry."

In essence, its his ego and control freak nature that mean Gabriel refuses to give up even when he and everyone else know he should quit. Its probably kind of a sad/rough start for Adrien especially, but also leads to very quick positive vibes with Marinette & more direct mentorship.

So this is a fun question because I'd only ever written fics for fandoms without source materials in English before F1. When I write dialogue in "another language," I usually just use English and italicize it. I can't be assed to bother with google translate and worry about inaccuracies. Phrases like fengshui or morior invictus that don't really have the same impact translated into English just get italicized.

Well I've tried to avoid spoilers but their are a few things I know going in the appearance of a character from ENT I'd originally guessed Trip Tucker because he died in a weird way and in non-cannon he did things after his "death" but a sci fi news article discussing Daniels gives me a feeling it's him makes more sense though and I saw two images one of a old Burnham and one of Burnham and Moll standing in front of some light on a cliff or something due to a current boycott of Paramount and Paramount+ I'm watching this from a pirate cove and I'd encourage you to do the same and without further ado live blogging of Star Trek Discovery and as always 🌟SPOILERS🌟

Well I'm glad it's longer then a regular episode but part of me was hoping for a 2 hour finale but considering it wasn't known until after shooting that it was the last episode and then reshoots that I'm sure are the extra length of this episode

So that's it the end of Discovery it had its hurdles but it also started Nu-Trek I personally am indeed a fan of the show this and Lower Decks are definitely my favorite of the Nu-Trek shows I am sad to see it go

It started my tradition of watching Nu-Trek and drinking canned Guayaki Yerba Mate late at night and it started many fond memories I've never said this online before but I never watched the last episode of ENT until the pilot of DIS came out I waited years to watch it but I couldn't bring myself to "finish" Star Trek until a new show was announced so I waited years to watch that last episode of ENT and after years of waiting and it was terrible but luckily this finale was better then that

a pretty even switch, doesn't lean to one side over the other

mostly tickles Abby ofc, mainly to cheer her up if she's feeling lonely

he's a pretty quiet ler, doesn't say too much but has the most mischievous smile ever

ofc he's a great ler he's an older brother what did you expect

Alright so. I’ve had the experience of When Calls the Heart (Hallmark) bc my mom is watching it. Here’s my thoughts so far.

1- Idk if this show has a historical consultant. But if so whosever it’s is seems to have a policy of “show up when I want and say what I want”.

2- the most based take this show has had in 12? seasons is “Pinkerton’s suck”.

3- Every time something interesting almost happens it is over in moments.

4- a woman had chicken pox (it’s roughly 1912) and looked stunning the whole time.

5- truly. Plz. Let these people act! I’m falling asleep.

6- shout out to the first couple episodes of season 1 where things are actually happening, people get to act, and it feels like a better consultant is on set.

7- Did I mention that the historical accuracy is not very good? It’s not, but admittedly most of it is just ok the cusp of “that’s too early or skirting the edge or too early”. No wonder peoples view of the past is so skewed. That said it has started to get better, I can only assume whoever their consultant is care more about this or the upcoming era.

8- this series is based on a Christian book series. I find it very funny that despite this they have struggled to keep a pastor.

9- the cast history is hilarious. Here are the reasons—

A) the love interest character (a mounty) from the books, his actor wanted to leave so they just killed him and had no idea what to do with the main characters romance plot. So they just gave her two love interests and a baby. She has somehow convinced herself that she wants the lightly shady salon owner -btw I was so excited for him to be shadier but no, not really- and not the new mounty she’s clearly in love with. Also the new Mounties niece-daughter (adoption) has been shipping them since they met and adopted Mc as her new mom by force. Including only inviting her uncle/dad and MC to her adoption hearing.

b) remember that California college scandle a few years ago? The mom actress from that was one of the best actors and characters on the show. Bc of it they cut her out and removed her scenes abruptly and just did a voice over that she left. Oh this also meant the child actor playing her adopted son had to be cut. Poor kid. Also her character had like 3-5 love interests Thru the show.

c) the intermittent villain -whose villainy is frankly, deeply boring- is bacially main cast. He keep becoming good only to be a villain again. He’s sorta the bad boy more old pathetic wet man with high blood pressure faced with mortality. Possibly most interesting character on the show. I think he used to be in soap operas. For the first few seasons whenever I saw him I thought he was a different person. He was previous female characters (above) love interest and rival.

d) the sheriff used to be a mounty. He’s also the town judge -no training for that besides mounty, and also hates lawyers- and almost mayor. He hates all new things. He owned a cafe with the kicked off character (above) and was also her love interest, and also of course the above guys rival -they have sorta become friends since then. his actor used to play a major villain in at least one soap opera. (Aside I’ve decided rn to start shipping the old men)

10- the MC best friend had to leave -as she was the one written off due to the actress personal scandal- so they had to make the quirky mild problem character her new best friend. New best friend used to be MC dead husbands fiancé before they broke up bc it was not ever happening. She is the only character who speaks with a North Atlantic accent Bc she was a NY actress before moving back to the Canadian rockies(? Wherever they are), the actress kills it tbh -she was also the one who looked immaculate despite having chicken pox as an adult.

12. The costuming is spotty. Beginning? Excellent. Middle? Looks like it came from the macys catalogue of the current year. Recently? Slightly better depending on character. Tbh for a bit I thought maybe the actors were supplying their own costumes, so it really boiled down to how much each actor cared and how good at cosplay they were.

Toaster got his name because he eats toast all the time. If you see him in the nook, you're basically guaranteed to see him with some toast covered in butter, cinnamon sugar, and honey.

He immigrated from Latin America, but for the life of him, Guy couldn't remember where exactly it was he came from. He wasn't paying attention when he was introduced; he was busy making sure the babysitter got his son settled in the hospital after an allergic reaction to some guacamole, and had been on his way out of the locker room to meet them there.

Guy did know his name is Leo Cortez, though.

The other man quickly wormed his way into Guy's heart, though, with offering food to whoever asked, and he brought some arepas in, and made Guy try it, and ok, he was mad his father never learned how to make them from his abuela, instead letting his mom make all the weird French food she liked*.

The day Toaster learned Guy spoke Spanish was hilarious, and it was funnier when he learned it was Guy's first language.

"You're from France??"

"My mom was from France, I was born in Mexico, actually."

The look on Toaster's face was worth Marty chirping him for being French (especially since Toaster and Guy both started speaking Spanish and let the Canadian be confused).

It wasn't until a year later that Toaster kissed him at the fourth of July party Thirdy was holding in his backyard, and Guy kissed him back, surprising the other man.

The kiss was worth paying the fine, if only because Vince was excited that his dad finally had a boyfriend.

*Guy is half Mexican, half French, and while he looks more like his mom, he grew up in Mexico, speaking Spanish as his primary language, and French as his second language. English is his third language.

Idk an au idea for Guy's boyfriend. I'm not settled on Toaster's first name, but I always flipflop in shipping Guy with either Scraps or Toaster (or Carly, the dickhead from the Aces tbh) and I just wanted to do something to share Toaster properly.

I did get Taylor tickets last year HOWEVER they were... beyond atrocious, the seats. Like, upper upper deck, BEHIND the stage with like no visibility, not even of the screens, because again: BEHIND. I had like three people trying to get tickets that day and 2/3 of us failed but my friend succeeded and she was like "do you want me to buy these? they're upper deck" and I was like yeah yeah that's okay! We can look at the screens! And then I saw the "OBSTRUCTED VISIBILITY" thing and looked at the layout and I was like...kind of devastated, honestly? It's really hard for me to do an outing like that physically, it was outdoors in April (which translates to HOT in Florida) and I just didn't see myself able to endure 5 or 6 hours at minimum in the heat without like, passing out and dying. Not to mention I'm still really scared of being in a large space with that many people because my disease-modifying drug destroys most of my immune system. I ended up selling them, and... buying my vinyl collection lol. Taylor got a lot of that money again because I bought a lot of her records. I'm kind of bummed that maybe I missed my chance forever, but again, I don't think I could have physically swung it. Plus, of the three nights she did Tampa, the show I was supposed to go to had meh surprise songs while the other 2 nights had AMAZING ones, so I know I would have been salty about that too. ONE DAY THO.

Unchained Love (2022) ⭐️ 7.5

Part palace drama, part comedy, this was a fun ride. I really liked watching the relationship between Bu Yinlou and Xiao Duo develop from friendship into romance. The comedy moments were really well done, and had me actually laughing out loud. The fight sequences were also really well done, and I liked the costumes. However, the last five or so episodes had such an abrupt tonal shift, and there were some questionable decisions made by otherwise smart characters, so it kind of fell flat at the end. BUT I would still watch it again, just maybe just skip the last eps.

I've Fallen for You (2020) ⭐️ 8

I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. The basic concept is: childhood sweethearts try to find their way back to each other, end up married after a strange series of events, but they aren't sure their spouse is the childhood sweetheart they're looking for. It's silly, cute, and very good fun. I really liked the secondary couple as well. The ending managed to make me very emotional, which surprised me. And I enjoyed that the heroine was a fan of doing autopsies (something that does occasionally become plot-relevant).

Miss the Dragon (2021) ⭐️ 7

Okay, first off, I know this one has a reputation of being a bad drama. And tbh, I agree! Objectively, it's not very good. HOWEVER! The viewing experience? Was so fun. The characters? Very entertaining. The frenemy dynamic between the ML and 2ndML? Hilarious and also a bit gay. The FL is a bit flat, but she does develop more personality through her various reincarnations. My fave life of hers was the 3rd, I believe (the lady general arc). Wang Hedi's acting is not the best but I still think he's very cute lol and he's watchable! It's just maybe not what you'd expect from him if you saw CLJ or The Rational Life first.

The Rational Life (2021) ⭐️ 9

Yes, this was for a bit of a palate cleanser after the overall ride that was Miss the Dragon. I wasn't sure if I'd be into the modern cdrama genre cuz fantasy/historical is more my preferred vibe of media, HOWEVER, I wanted to give it a shot because I'd seen some cute gifs. I really loved it, far more than I expected to. Every character was really well done, and I really liked how the story was centred on women's experiences in various workplaces/times in their life. It also gave me age gap brainrot, I won't lie. I loved the gradual build from coworkers to friendship to romance with Qi Xiao and Shen Ruoxin. I will say tho... I would like to know what whoever dressed Wang Hedi in this show was thinking. Some of those outfits were... a choice lol.

Till the End of the Moon (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

Everyone has seen or at least heard about it at this point. Dare I say it's iconic? I won't lie, my rating upon finishing it was lower. I had issues with the pacing in parts and I found the last episodes difficult to get thru because they just didn't capture my attention the way the beginning of the drama did. However, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. Plus, the performances by Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu are amazing. And I really feel they embody the "enemies to lovers" trope better than anyone!

A Romance of the Little Forest (2022) ⭐️ 7

Tbh... this show deserves less than a 7, but I rated it as such because I love my queen Xinxin, and her chemistry with Zhang Binbin was good. I think this would've worked better as a 24-episode drama, as the last couple plot arcs felt kind of tacked on. It's great if you want to see Yu Shuxin in various adorable outfits and a fun fake dating plot, but maybe stopping midway is good enough. Fair warning, the second couple's storyline was awful on several levels. Essentially, the man lies about being in a wheelchair to garner sympathy with his crush, who herself is partially Deaf. Yeah, it's BAD. Just skip all their scenes.

Back from the Brink (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

I really enjoyed this, especially how silly it could be. They really amped up the humour, and to me that worked well. At the same time, there were also some very heartfelt moments that made me tear up. I really liked the side couples as well, they were all quite likeable. It was just a really fun show from beginning to end.

The Starry Love (2023) ⭐️ 7.5

I really enjoyed this, up until the last arc. I found after that, it dragged a bit. To be honest, it dragged a bit in earlier parts too. What saved it for me was the humour, the relationship between the two sisters, the Void Realm subplots, and the adorable Di Lanjue. Unfortunately, Yetan/Youqin didn't really do much for me, but I still found them enjoyable at times.

The Wolf (2020) ⭐️ 8.5

This was a surprise for me. I didn't expect I'd like it much going in, but I still wanted to give it a try for my guy Xiao Zhan. I'd tried watching it before when it first aired, but I found the first couple episodes too cheesy. I still found them incredibly cheesy this time, but after about midway through episode 3 when the main plot kicked off, I found myself really invested. Fair warning, Xiao Zhan only shows up in episode 11, so if you're watching it just for him, you may be disappointed. Fortunately, I found myself invested in all the characters quite a bit. If you like messy toxic bitches, this is the drama for you. Warning: there was an attempted rape scene I found quite uncomfortable (though it's not played as being romantic, thankfully). There are a couple other dubcon incidents I wasn't a huge fan of, and one character has a miscarriage. Just things to keep in mind before viewing.

My Journey to You ⭐️ 8

Where do I even start here? Once again, I probably should rate it lower, because the story itself is a mess. HOWEVER, the characters, aesthetics, and cinematography are all excellent. The characters are really what stayed with me the most, and the episode focusing on Yun Que was devastating in all the best ways. The beginning episodes were also fantastic, the way the story unfurled. It just became clear in the latter half of the series that the writer had written himself into a corner and didn't know how to get out. Frustrating, but I don't regret my journey with this show (heh, get it). It's for that reason I'm not sure I can ever rec it to anyone, but I'll gladly talk about it to anyone who will listen.

Never Give Up (2023) ⭐️ 8.5

This was a fun office sitcom-style drama that I really breezed through after the horror show that was MJTY. Lighthearted with short episodes, it was very enjoyable. If you've ever worked in an office, you can probably relate. Once again, I'd like to speak with whoever dressed Wang Hedi cuz they made some interesting choices lol.

Ancient Love Poetry (2021) ⭐️ 9

Another surprise for me. I had tried the first episodes a while back and found it a bit dense, but restarting it this year I found it a lot more interesting. Maybe having more xianxia general knowledge helped me out. It was a really beautifully done drama. The CGI and sets were all superb. There was a whole host of characters to get invested in as well. It was a truly epic story from start to finish.

Destined With You (2023) ⭐️ 7.5

The one Kdrama on this list! I really loved the two actors, their chemistry, and the plot in general, but the pacing in the middle took me out a bit. I would still recommend watching it, as there was lots to enjoy. The modern with magic elements were really intriguing, as was the concept of past lives. I also like that the ML and 2ndML work together instead of constantly butting heads once it becomes clear who the FL will pick. The flashbacks to the past life were also really interesting--I wish we'd had more of that tbh! I'll definitely be looking out for both actors in other dramas!

As for the shows I placed on hold, I will likely stop lying to myself and drop them. But I might give them another shot before doing so. I'm still really disappointed by Only for Love, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Not even the power of Didi and Bai Lu could make me do it. It just got too frustrating.

Now, I'm currently watching Story of Kunning Palace, Royal Rumours, and The Last Immortal. I'm not super sold on the last 2, but SOKP has really grabbed me by the throat (just like Xie Wei to Jiang Xuening) so I'm glad to be starting the year off strong!
