Well I've tried to avoid spoilers but their are a few things I know going in the appearance of a character from ENT I'd originally guessed Trip Tucker because he died in a weird way and in non-cannon he did things after his "death" but a sci fi news article discussing Daniels gives me a feeling it's him makes more sense though and I saw two images one of a old Burnham and one of Burnham and Moll standing in front of some light on a cliff or something due to a current boycott of Paramount and Paramount+ I'm watching this from a pirate cove and I'd encourage you to do the same and without further ado live blogging of Star Trek Discovery and as always 🌟SPOILERS🌟
Season 5 Episode 10
I'm still sad this is the last episode of DIS
Well I'm glad it's longer then a regular episode but part of me was hoping for a 2 hour finale but considering it wasn't known until after shooting that it was the last episode and then reshoots that I'm sure are the extra length of this episode
I wonder if we'll see the Breen that went in before Moll and Burnham?
Huh Burnham had the same thought
Nooo Burnham
Oh there's one of three Breen cracked like an egg
And their is the other Breen not a happy one either maybe if the Breen had sent scientists instead of Soldiers they'd be more willing to work together Burnham
Damn that was a football tackle
About to be pulled away by a hurricane and still trying to punch damn Burnham is right "STOP IT"
Lots of slow mo
Damn the Breen is back
Why is Moll flying with a gun?
Why did Moll shoot the Breen? I mean the Breen is under her command
No wonder the Breen was so mad their own boss killed the other Breen like a cracked egg I'd be pissed too
Damn Moll is not likable even for a villain
Yeah that's what I thought
Now thinking about it I definitely thought that Detmer and Owosekun would be back by now tbh
Yeah Nhan stepping up suck it admiral
"At least the Breen have a vested interest" didn't you just kill your own Breen soldiers?!
Return of the spinning camera and a surprise appearance of shaky camera
Since it's the last episode I want to say I think DIS has my favorite Engineer crew out of all the Trek shows between Stamets, Adira, Reno and the occasional Booker, Tilly or Culber it has my favorite dynamic
There's one of the images that was spoiled them standing in front of whatever that ripple thing is
Oh they aren't fighting Tahal yet? Then what Breen Is Discovery fighting oh is it the Ruhn Breen Dreadnought or whoever runs it now Moll or that Asrisar Breen
"Ambassador Saru are you insane?" Is hilarious
Just like her Breen colleagues don't turn your back on Moll
Moll isn't very smart Burnham told you the clue and you didn't even use it
What was that scream Moll that was some serious yelling in lower case
Yes trust the good doctor odd visions or whatever
Damn Seru that was cold as ice
I swear Burnham is like the perfect Federation Captain because I would have been pissed
I kind of like that the most powerful tech in the universe is represented with some simple glass triangles
Ancient humanoid appearance!
Something before the progenitors? Mmmh interesting I know Q and the Guardian Of Forever were before the ancient humanoids I'm pretty sure but not much else is known
I love that it's Booker that's with Hugh others would try to explain or theorize but Booker is just like "damn that's crazy" the same nonchalant attitude when Hugn decided to join in the shuttle in the first place
Wow that's a lot of camera spinning
Separate the what?
Damn the ancient humanoids really trying to put this technology off on someone else
A TNG Enterprise D style saucer separation WOOOOOOOOOOO BABY
Is that the Breem Scout ship it looks nice
Ain't no way they just spun that colossal giant Dreadnought like a bayblade that was totally cool
Damn the Progenitor really gave Burnham a crash course on almost all of existence huh?
Honestly I've been thinking all season that kind of technology needs to go permanently
I'm sad Stamets won't get his legacy dream the spore drive program was canceled and made secret, spore drive didn't replace the regular warp drive in the 32nd century and now unable to study the progenitors tech what I'm really sad about is that this arc for Stamets won't be resolved because this is the finale
Picard Wine, Geordi old visor and a baseball presumably something to do with Sisko interesting
Kovich was Daniels all along?! This isn't what I thought the returning ENT thing was gonna be I'll be honest I was actually surprised
Yes! The Saru x T'Rina wedding what everyone was hoping for
Talaxian pirates? Mmmmh
All of the dress uniforms and fancy wedding clothes look great
Old Burnham and old Booker look like themselves but with gray hair I look forward to seeing irl old compared to TV old like they did for TOS, TNG and DS9 episodes where it showed a older version of a character and then people put up a image of them later irl when the actor was actually older
Burnham 33nd century civilian clothes look like she ready for the wild west I guess some fashion just comes around huh
Admiral you say
Oh that's a alien deer cool
Ooooo another uniform
They got kid in Starfleet already wow future jumps do that though
I like these even further in the future 33nd century uniforms that admiral one is nice I like the line going down the pants but I also liked that on the PIC S3 uniform too so I guess I'm just a sucker for that uniform design choice
I also like the new 33nd century Starfleet logo
For future versions of the Starfleet logo post ST Nemesis I think this new one and the Future Imperfect TNG one from the fake future are probably my favorites
Damn how many refits has that ship undergone to be still be in service
For a minute I thought she was about to pass down Discovery to her son
So a short explanation of Calypso but I still don't understand why Zora had to wait for Craft or the importance of Craft tbh and poor Zora has to wait 1000 years alone is so strange I also assume it was a life or death thing with the crew abandoned ship rather then this whole red directive thing its just kind of odd
Ah Detmer and Owosekun finally returned for the last few minutes of the finale
Ah a impressive fleet shot I do love the Merian Class, Kirk Class, Courage Class of my personal favorite out of the 32-33nd century ships the Eisenberg Class
So that's it the end of Discovery it had its hurdles but it also started Nu-Trek I personally am indeed a fan of the show this and Lower Decks are definitely my favorite of the Nu-Trek shows I am sad to see it go
It started my tradition of watching Nu-Trek and drinking canned Guayaki Yerba Mate late at night and it started many fond memories I've never said this online before but I never watched the last episode of ENT until the pilot of DIS came out I waited years to watch it but I couldn't bring myself to "finish" Star Trek until a new show was announced so I waited years to watch that last episode of ENT and after years of waiting and it was terrible but luckily this finale was better then that

Rant about The Expanse Season 5 (spoilers under the cut):
Edit to add: Thanks very much to the people in the notes who explained the IRL reasons this happened. I wasn't aware of the circumstances, and it makes sense that this was the best way the show could handle it. As I said in the notes, it'd be nice if real life shit never affected the fictional worlds we love, but unfortunately that's not possible or realistic. Sounds like the show had the right response, despite how it affected the fictional narrative.
---
I am so very pissed about the way they killed off Alex in S5 E10! Like, they could've at least given a little warning or some kind of closure for him considering he'd been one of the main characters for five damn seasons. It felt like the pacing of S5 suffered a bit from them trying to squeeze so many big events and so much individual character development into ten episodes (I feel like S5 is the first season that showed some strain at fitting the apparent book contents into a show format). I guess it was also hard because so many of the characters were in different locations doing different things, making it harder to cover them all. And the content of the season felt darker and more pessimistic in a lot of parts, without the sense of exploring the mystery of the protomolecule or the unified bond of the Rocinante crew working together. From a narrative perspective, I get why a lot of things were the way they were. But I still hate that after we watched Naomi struggle through nearly impossible circumstances and survive, Alex just up and died with no warning, abruptly, mostly off-screen. It just felt so profoundly unfair. And maybe that was the point, idk, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. This season was already stressful enough without adding that at the end.

Stargate-Atlantis S5: E10 & 11 First Contact & The Lost Tribe
I've now seen enough SG-1 to be happy to see Daniel Jackson. 😄 I love him and Rodney working together. It's very like Ronon and Teal'c meeting for the first time.
Woolsey: Todd has less baggage with me than you. 🤣🤣🤣
Woolsey leaves Sheppard in command and says: Try not to blow her up while I'm gone. Why would you say that???
I'm always uncomfortable when the teams split up.
Sheppard saying Daniel and Rodney make a good team has to be him poking. He's too good at studying people to not realize they aren't working well together.
Daniel and Rodney are chuckling because they think Sheppard isn't as smart as them, but when things go bad, Sheppard is just as quick as Rodney to put it all together. I also think this is interesting considering Daniel's experience with Jack. Jack is good at what he does, but constantly requests the dumbing down of things and even admits he has no idea how the stargates work. Sheppard seems to generally grasp the science stuff and listens when Rodney is rabid fire explaining. So I think Rodney is giving him a hard time, but I think Daniel actually thinks he's as jockish as Jack, who Daniel loves, but still. It was an interesting moment.
I always thought it sad that Todd thinks Atlantis betrayed him. I mean, he's always coming up with layered plans that are almost betrayals, but it wasn't Atlantis.
I love that Ronon's first thing is arming Keller.
John sends Teyla to safety, not only protecting his people, but I think to command if he dies.
Also, there is a serious lack of Lorne in this episode .
Episode 11: The Lost Tribe
See! It opens with Teyla getting everyone to safely. Sheppard knows what he's about.
Sheppard bodily protects Radek.
Radek: we lost the control room. That is bad.
Teyla: we did not lose you. That's good.
😭😭😭
I love that you can feel the horror of the device through Todd's reaction to it. He's ready to do anything to shut the device down. Anything.
Sheppard leaves with the Travelers and, this time, has a chance to explain why he's leaving Teyla behind. He trusts her to lead Atlantis while he's gone.
When Ronon is shooting up the engine room, I wonder if Keller had a hard time not switching to Kaylee? 🤣
Daniel talking to the Asgard is *spoiler warning* when you watch Atlantis before SG-1.
Todd refuses Sheppard's offer to join forces, tries to manipulate Keller, sets the Deadalus on a collision course, and abandons it. Meanwhile, McKay and Daniel work together. Sheppard joins the Travelers. Ronan retakes the Deadalus. What Atlantis has, that Todd doesn't, that can't be beat, is trust. Trust in each other.
Ronon gets rejected by Keller. I honestly don't think him and Keller made a great pair. He needs a very special sort of woman.
Great two episodes.
Needed some Lorne.

In summary, 5 books, 49 movies, 64 tv shows of varying levels of engagement and 27 cultural experiences.
Easily the least number of books I've read in a single year since I could read. Mostly because it's hard and tiring for me to read with bad eyes and spending long days reading with my job. Interesting that I'm being drawn more to non-fiction than fiction these days.
Wow I watch a lot of tv and film. I really enjoyed Fresh off the Boat and multiple seasons of Below Deck this year. The right balance of entertaining and easy to wind down to and knit to after work.
I feel like I don't gig anywhere near as much as I used to, and that makes me sad. But I do like that I'm still doing on average a cultural thing every two weeks. Less gigs, more other types of culture and I'm definitely throwing lots of support behind the local culture scene.

Riverdale S3 E10 (Spoilers)
- The question of How to Afford College, even in Riverdale, with the attack bears and the fake nunnery, gives me intense, nearly unmanageable anxiety. I’m fine with Betty bashing her serial killer father in the back of the head with a fireplace shovel while he is choking her mother to death after said mother taunted him about getting back into bed with her high school boyfriend. You know, that stuff is entertaining. But an unstable mother conned into giving a cult money you were counting on to go to school with? Has me curled up into a ball on the floor. Betty tearing up as her mother smiles at her about this, oh my god, my blood pressure. I am so sorry Betty, for saying anything bad about you ever. I am so, so sorry. I’m also sorry that the only person who says what you deserve to hear is Hal Cooper.
- It just hasn’t been in evidence much in recent episodes (I can’t get over Betty’s unsuitability as Serpent Queen) but there is really something so angelic about Betty. She is carrying a heavy load (Dad serial killer, sister in a cult, the above College Fund problem) but when she’s focused on helping Archie get reintegrated and back to being a student, she’s the warmest, kindest tutor you could hope for.
- The Andrews men comparing what they’ve survived (Fred, the Black Hood x2; Archie, the Bear) while eating breakfast is grounding and I wish there was more of it. The thing is, I am disappointed by Fred Andrews’ inability to shove his son into therapy. Fred has no qualms about invading Hiram Lodge’s office to threaten him with death to his face, but when his obviously disordered son sets up his room like a cell and decides to go all in with his compulsion for violence, Fred just lets it be.
- I forgot to note that the nuns at Sisters of Quiet Mercy all died last episode. But no matter. So, Riverdale production team has a person who has some type of feelings about religion because casually yearning for Vatican II, the bit about the Vatican having to certify you, and now in this episode, showing Alice playing with a table full of crystals after giving all her kid's money to a cult amounts to a whole statement.
- Veronica Does That To Reggie, and yet he forgives her, comes to the hospital to support her when she’s standing vigil over her father. What is time and how long has it been since they got together? No clue. But wow she is B R U T A L. Reggie is standing there, breathless, no thoughts, head spinning after the sucker punch she knocked into his gut by saying in essence, You will never count as long as Archie is here, and she immediately goes Well anyway we should have a party for Archie. Oh V.
- Archie also has a bad reaction to a well intentioned party that a girlfriend throws for him, complete with singing!! Justice for Jughead because this wasn’t memed and mocked to all hell, even though Archie keeps hallucinating Hiram while looking at Veronica all dolled up.
-And who sticks up for Veronica? REGGIE. But then I don’t understand straight boy friendships (assuming this is in any way a representation thereof) because Reggie & Archie have this highly hostile confrontation in the locker room, and then a little later they’re very joshing and casual with each other in the lounge. At least until Reggie accidentally on purpose drops the news that he’s been with Veronica. Veronica I see is already very adept at not flying off the handle in times of romantic crisis (seeding for S5!).
- Archie has bad sexual ethics (see, Laurie of the Skillet Bashing) but he also seems to have poor academic ethics. He can’t concentrate because trauma, he’s given very good advice to maybe take a year and redo school, but his response to all of this is to go to his drug dealer friend to ask for tips on how to cheat on the SATs. This and the uncontrollable violence that Archie keeps exhibiting makes me wonder what I’m supposed to want for Archie. (I still have Mary screaming as Archie destroys the TV in season 4 ringing in my ears).
- Tall Boy = a Gargoyle King = dead. Claudius Blossom = Sheriff = Dead because Blossom men do not matter. FP is Sheriff and that dude sure knows how to make a theatrical entrance.
- There is absolutely no Bughead here and it does take a lot of the spice out of things, despite Veggie’s best efforts. But I do get to see Jughead in Demon Nightmare Boy mode, acting as Serpent King, and he wants to use Archie as bait. Jughead also says the two most memorable things he’s yet uttered as Serpent King:
a) “You won’t be able to see them but I have guys watching you 24-7″ Veronica chooses not to react, Betty I think has no idea wtf he’s talking about but pretends to, and Archie doesn’t know whether to laugh or be jealous that Jughead can say this. The silence that ensues is one that borders on disbelief covered by politesse.
b) “SHUT UP AND LET ME THINK.” What is wrong with me that I love Shouty Jughead so much. Maybe because Jughead has an unexpectedly huge voice when he shouts, cavernous, and I can see how someone capable of suddenly erupting into a roar like this might actually be intimidating despite the pretty face and the lanky frame.
- Fangs and Sweet Pea howling in horror and rage as Tall Boy exults that he murdered Joaquin was moving but I am wondering if the Protagonist Boy Designation Gods of Riverdale decided that Sweet Pea is too much of a threat to Jughead (with all his flaws, including his highly unsuitable Serpent Queen, ok ok I’ll stop) and defanged (heh) him so completely here. The Sweet Pea that leads the charge to Archie’s house to have the rumble with the Bulldogs way back in Season 2 would not have asked Jughead Jones in a shaky voice what to do.

The Masked Singer: S5, E10 (The Spicy Six)
According to the episode descriptions, it looks like just one unmasking will take place tonight. As always, I post before I see any unmasking, so don’t take these as spoilers.
Yeti 👹 ⛄️: Has at least one child and mentioned a daughter, a small panda doll, and a rug being cut (as in, he can dance). Has some dance skills in addition to being able to rap. And the mind reader clue mentioned corn. “Corn popped into my mind.” So, he might be known for being a pop star at some point. I’m still going with Omarion, who has two children, including a daughter. He also got his start in an R&B boy band, B2K.
Robopine 🤖 🦔: Darts, butter, eggs, and toast. If this is Tyrese Gibson, I think the friend he might have been referring to in his clue package is Paul Walker, who died in a car accident while Furious 7 was in production. It does sound like Tyrese. Tank is a good guess as well, but this is leaning more towards Tyrese.
Piglet 🐷: Fake teeth, gold bars…has an apple-shaped birthmark on his head. The voice is still telling me that this is Nick Lachey. I don’t know about him catching touchdowns from Dan Marino, but Nick is a huge fan of another NFL team, the Cincinnati Bengals. Some googling also confirmed that the birthmark story that Piglet told in his clue package is indeed something that actually happened to Nick Lachey.
Black Swan 🦢: I saw an atom and an outline of the state of New Hampshire in her clue package. Her mind reader clue makes a reference to Mariah Carey. I’m sticking with JoJo, as she’s been compared to Mariah Carey, and spent part of her childhood in Nee Hampshire.
Russian Dolls 🪆: There’s at least two of them. I also saw fifteen cents (a nickel and a dime) and a golden belt buckle. Pop art as well. And I think the nickel and dime could be a reference to Taylor Hanson’s age when “MMMBop” became a number one hit. He was about 14 or 15 when they first broke into the mainstream. The sound of their voices still has me thinking that this is Hanson.
Chameleon 🦎: Orange slices, was from a military family that moved around. The “military brat” clue seems to fit with Wiz Khalifa, who became the internet consensus pretty quickly. His mind reader clue showed a sneaker, but the military brat clue seems to make the most sense.

JOHNNY SILVER
April 16, 1918
Johnny Silver was born John Silverman in East Chicago, Indiana. Silver's performing arts career started early, singing as a youth, and then expanded to acting. His early career involved performing with actor John Raitt at L.A. City College as well as radio work. He also worked as a burlesque comic.
He made his big screen debut in the screen adaptation of Guys and Dolls (1955) playing Benny Southstreet (above center). A clip from the Damon Runyon musical was included in the original airing of “I Love Lucy” episode “Lucy and the Dummy” (ILL S5;E3) on October 17, 1955 as part of the MGM show. The clip was removed after the first airing and has never since been part of the episode. Ruskin did not appear in the clip.
Prior to that, he made his small screen debut on “NBC Television Opera Theatre” doing three episodes in 1950.
It should be no surprise that he made his Desilu debut on “The Untouchables,” doing two episodes in 1959, and 1960. Both times he played uncredited ‘gangsters’.
From 1956 to 1961, Silver appeared as various characters on seven episodes of “The Danny Thomas Show” aka “Make Room for Daddy”, shot at Desilu, twice playing Mr. Shermahorn. The series did cross-over episodes with “The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour” in 1958, although Silver was not part of it.
From 1961 to 1965, Silver appeared as various characters on five episodes of “The Joey Bishop Show”, shot a Desilu Studios.
From 1963 to 1965, Silver appeared as various character on fifteen episodes of “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” also shot at Desilu.
Back on the Desilu lot in October 1966, Silver played an alien (actually an actor playing an alien) on an episode of “Gomer Pyle USMC” (above right), cast because of his height, 4′11″. “The Lucy Show” did a cross-over episode with “Gomer Pyle” a month later, although Silver was not part of it.
From 1962 to 1972, Silver did four episodes of “My Three Sons” shot at Desilu, the first two opposite William Frawley.
In February 1971, he finally joined Lucille Ball on the “Here’s Lucy” episode “The Hollywood Unemployment Follies” starring Carol Burnett. He plays the shortest of four Canadian Mounties singing “Stout-hearted Men,” a song by Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein II.
He returned to the series in November 1972 to play Benny in “Dirty Gertie” (HL S5;E10) in a nod to his character Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls.
His final screen appearance was a small role on “Seinfeld” on May 18, 1955.
He died on February 1, 2003 at age 84. He was married to Gloria Manos and was survived by their two daughters: Stephanie Silver and Jennie Silver, who work together as a singing duet called The Silver Belles.
“If you can't laugh at life, you might as well blow your brains out.” ~ Johnny Silver
For the record, he died of heart and kidney failure.

E10 of S5: This show really makes it a point that some characters confuse feelings for siblings and romantic feelings, hence Dean calling Cas a brother twice and Amara looking for Chuck in Dean.
I always felt like Dean treats Jo like a sister, and when a demon was possessing Sam, he confirmed it, too. It’s interesting how before Jo dies, Dean kisses her twice. A forehead kiss for Dean himself. A kiss on the lips for Jo because she’s in love with him.

S5 E10 New Ground
Data and Worf tried so hard, and it still wasn't enough. For them it was an admirable effort, but it's hard to match Geordi's enthusiasm.
This new actor for Alexander, Brian Bonsall, portrays the character for the rest of his TNG appearances.
Worf's mother is such a bright and charming woman. I was saddened to learn the actress who portrayed her, Georgia Brown, died the summer of 1992, later this same year, at only 58.
That's a bright room.
The rollercoaster wire bead maze on the shelf looks exactly the same as the one in every pediatric doctors office I remember ever being in. I looked it up and the brand is Anatex. The company was the first to distribute the toy in the US and was established in 1982.
That was very gracious of Picard.
Nice little horn theme there for the transition.
Deanna's enthusiasm for Worf's new life development feel a little odd, if only because she doesn't typically go out of her way to engage with him for personal life events, so I can only assume her interest is specifically on account of Alexander.
Worf is going to have a steep learning curve as a parent.
There's that Greco looking Klingon statue. I don't know if it shows up often in Worf's quarters but I know it showed up before in "Peak Performance".
Let's be honest, as odd as Troi's interest is, Worf needs all the support he can get.
The camera bumps a little as it starts out of the turbo lift, but it's a nice perspective change for the bridge. I'm sure after so many episodes it's difficult to find a camera angle that feels fresh.
Ship shake! Wow, that was a crazy ship shake.
The guy at the tactical station next to Riker seems to be wearing an altered season 1/2 uniform. It has a collar and plain black shoulders but is a single piece and zips up the front.
This episode feels like the next step in the development of Worf and Troi's interpersonal relationship after "Night Terrors".
Geordi is so close to Data it looks like he's almost falling out of his chair.
"brace for impact" i.e. assume your ship shake position. (DO YOU HAVE YOUR EXIT BUDDY??)
As Riker touches the wall panel you can see it flex in slightly. Worf just pushes Riker out of the way; it feels unnatural like he should say something as he does it, but they're silent.
From the looks of it, that fire ball is practical.
Nice rack focus from Brent to Patrick.
Worf lifting this heavy beam is reminiscent of Data's shows of strength where he tossed giant, empty, plastic barrels or chunks of painted styrofoam. He does pretty well but there a few little tells, like how he shifts his hands, that give it away.
Riker's moment of confusion is fantastic.
Wow, Picard just gave an order that might kill two of his senior officers.
And Riker saved the lizard, bark, puppets! Hooray! (As this kid just coughs all over Michael)

QUEEN OF THE ASHES
I have been re watching the show from season 1, making notes in every episode and paying attention every time they change from one scene to another and its just unbelievable how much foreshadowing there is about Daenerys burning down KL. I believe that both Cersei and Daenerys will destroy Kings Landing fighting for the Throne, but the show has been pointing out to Dany pretty much from season 1.
S1 E3 – King Robert calls Jaime Lannister and asks him about the time he killed the Mad King Aerys. He asks Jaime what was the Mad King’s last words and Jaime says the king repeated what he has been saying for hours. **Burn them all**. The next scene its Daenerys in Essos riding with the Dothraki ordering them to stop the horde. Jorah comments that she is starting to speak as a queen and she corrects him: not a queen, a Khalessi. I have been re watching the show from season 1, making notes in every episode and paying attention every time they change from one scene to another and its just unbelievable how much foreshadowing there is about Daenerys burning down KL. I believe that both Cersei and Daenerys will destroy Kings Landing fighting for the Throne, but the show has been pointing out to Dany pretty much from season 1.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6GW03WsFgU&t=1s
S1 E10 – The sorceress Mirri Maz Dull tells Daenerys she killed her son because he would be the Stallion who Mounts the World, who would burn cities to the ground. The show is very precise about prophecies due the lack of time, they only show what is absolutely necessary. They left this prophecy because it will have relevance in the storyline. We now know that it was not Dany’s son, but Daenerys herself who would be The stallion who mounts. The prophecy says that the Stallion is the "khal of khals" who will unite all the Dothraki under his single khalasar and ride to the ends of the earth. That’s what Daenerys did in season 6 and 7. If the prophecy its confirmed, she will be the one burning cities and trampling nations into dust.
>Daenerys: My child was innocent.
>Mirri: Innocent? He would be the Stalion who Mounts the World, now **he would burn no cities, now he will trample no nations into dust.**
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLpvLlrlFgc
S1 E10 - Dany decides to kill Khal Drogo and burn his body next to her dragon eggs. She lays next to him and promises to reunite with him one day "When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east".
The next scene happens in Kings Landing Kings Landing with Maester Pyrcelle and Ross in his room; he is remembering the Mad King and what likeable and charming man he used to be in his youth, before madness took over him.
>“Aerys Targaryen, of all the thousands and thousands maladies, the Gods visits us, madness is the worst. He was a good man, such a charmer. To watch him melt away before my eyes, consumed with **dreams of Fire and Blood**”
https://youtu.be/wHJTYqLtRms
The episode ends with Daenerys entering the fire pyre to eventually hatch the eggs and give birth to 3 dragons. She had this idea from a dragon dream in the early nights.
S2 E4 - Dany arrives in Qarth and they dont want to let her in, thats the first time she threats to burn down a city and destroy completely. Daenerys is not mad or insane. Her pride its her weakness, she is a very arrogant woman and when her pride is hurt she loses her head and makes drastic and terrible decisions. This wont be the last time Daenerys threatens to burn a city to the ground.
>Daenerys: Thirteen!!!! when my dragons are grown, we will take back what was stolen from me, and destroy those who wronged me, we will lay waste to armies, and burn cities to the ground. Turns us way, and I will burn you first!!!
https://youtu.be/In7YGhGt9Dw?t=3m9s
S2 E5 – Tyrion finds out all the wildfire that its under Kings Landing, he mentions that its enough Wildfire to destroy all city.
**“The contents of this room could lay Kings Landing low”.**
The very next scene is Dany is Qarth, teaching Drogo to obey to her Dracarys order for the first time.
https://youtu.be/YqMrgvy9uMA?t=2m
S3 E4 – In this scene, Varys tries to alert Lady Ollena of how dangerous Littlefinger is. Pay attention at the words he uses to describe Littlefinger, those are the exact same words Tyrion used to describe Daenerys when he met her in Meeren.
>Varys: **"Littlefinger was born with no lands, no wealth, no armies.** He acquired the first two, how long before he has the army?" Peharps you laugh, but I know him better than most and this is the truth."Littlefinger is one of the most dangerous men in Westeros.... he would see this country burn if he could be **King of the Ashes**
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFZen-XO5II
Varys was afraid that Littlefinger would destroy the realm trying to get the Iron Throne, so he decided to bring Daenerys to Westeros, ironically, she will be the one turning the kingdom into ashes.
And here is something even better, this episode S3E4 ends with Daenerys literally acquiring her **first army**. She sacks Astapor and leaves with the Unsulied, getting her first army in order to invade Westeros. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGRyZSMzRyo)
S3 E7 – In the Throne room Joffrey asks Tywin about Daenerys and wonders if they should do something about her. Tywin dismiss his concerns and tells him that “Curiosities on the far side of the world are no **threats** to us. Westeros continues to ignore Daenerys and her dragons.
Westeros continues to ignore Daenerys and her dragons. George RRM called Daenerys and the Army of the Dead, much bigger threats that could destory the kingdom, but people were so worried about the selfish politics in Kings Landing that they ignore the danger. Joffrey was the only one who saw it the real problem but everyone ignored him.
>You know, one of the dynamics I started with, there was the sense of people being so consumed by their petty struggles for power within the seven kingdoms, within King’s Landing — who’s going to be king? Who’s going to be on the Small Council? Who’s going to determine the policies? — **that they’re blind to the much greater and more dangerous threats that are happening far away on the periphery of their kingdoms.**
https://youtu.be/tk5hKomP4MA?t=1m40s
S5 E10- Right after the scene where Stannis burns down Sheereen at the stake as a sacrifice for the Lord of Light, they cut to the scene in Meereen where Daenerys and Hizdahr are presenting to the reopening of the Fighting Pits. During their conversation Daenerys explain that destroying an entire city it may be ncessary in order to acheieve something great.
Hizdahr - That is a vital part of the Great City of Meereen, which existed long before you and I and will remain standing long after we have returned to the dirt.
Daenerys - One day your great city will return to the dirt as well.
Hizdahr - At your command?
Daenerys - If need to be.
Hizdahr - And how many will die to make their happen?
Daenerys - If it comes to that, they will have died for a good reason.
Hizdahr - Those men (in the fighting pit) think they are dying for a good reason.
Daenerys - Someone else reason.
Hizdahr - So your reasons are true and theirs are false? They don’t know their own minds, but you do?
https://youtu.be/xszXpZfsd7w?t=4m30s
This dialogue pretty much sums up Daenerys as a character. She is starting to rationale the idea of burning cities to the ground in order to achieve an objective, as something necessary, while not realizing that she is losing her humanity, just like those men who are fighting in the pits. She is using excuses of a greater cause to justify the deaths of millions.
S6 E6 - Bran Stark has a new series of visions and one of the visions include a dragon flying over Kings Landing. In the DVD comentary the producers D&D made sure to observe that the image of the dragon flying over Kings Landing it was one the most important image of the whole show.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuBpz6iVEIk&t=3s
S6 E8 – Cersei shows up at the Throne room for a Royal announcement, Tommen declares Trial by combat forbidden in all 7 Kingdoms. Cersei then asks Qyburn about the rumor of wildfire under the city, he confirms that the rumors are true and is much bigger than they expected to be.
>Qyburn: “Your grace, that old rumor you told me about it. My little birds investigated.
>Cersei: And? Its just a rumor or something more?
>Qyburn? More, so much more….
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmqQo37R3As
The very next scene? Meeren being attacked by the rival cities of Slavery Bay. Missandei tells Tyrion: “The Masters have come to collect their properties”. That’s how Daenerys sees Westeros, something that belongs to her and her alone.
S6 E9 - Daenerys returns to Meereen and finds the city being attacked by the Masters of the rival cities. She then tells Tyion about her plans against the attack.
>Daenerys: “I will crucify the masters. I will set their fleets on fire, kill every last one of their soldiers, and return their city to the dirt.”
That’s the second time now that Daenerys threats to burn down a city and turn into ashes. The third time will be Kings Landing and no one will be able to stop her then.
S6 E10 – The scene where Jon Snow is crowned KITN, Lord Cerweyn tells the room that they need to go home.
>The Boltons are defeated, the war is over, winter has come, if the measters are right it will be the coldest one in a thousands years, we should ride home and wait for the coming storms.
>Jon Snow: The war is not over, and I promise you friend, THE TRUE ENEMY wont wait out the storm, he brings the storm.
https://youtu.be/AXAnxAA73xM?t=37s
Daenerys nickname that she likes to repeat is Stormborn. We all were led to believe that The Army of the Dead would be the greatest threat to Westeros, but its Daenerys and her dragons that we should all be scared of.
I now believe the Night King and TAOTD was a redherring for the real threath that will devastated Westeros and the way George did was kinf of brilliant. The very first scene of the book and show its the rangers going North of the wall and fiding the White Walkers and we were all so scared and terrified of them. Then the last scene of the book 1 and season 1 its the birth of the dragons and we all celebrated!!! We were soo happy and excited, DRAGONS, thats amazing. But Now I believe that it will be the dragons that will bring misery to the Kingdom.
They did the same on season 7. In the first episode Daenerys finally arrives on Westeros and we are all so happy, finally!!!! Dragons again flying over Westeros, thats amazing!!! we have been waiting for this for decades, then in the final episode the Army of the Dead breaks down the wall and finally enters the Kingdom and once again weare terrified!!1 They are here, oh my God, what will happen? But it was the dragons, again, in the first episode thatwe should have been scared of.

Jon Snow: Kill the Boy (S8)
JON: I need your advice. There's something I want to do, something I have to do. But it'll divide the Night's Watch. Bitterly. Half the men will hate me the moment I give the order. AEMON: Half the men hate you already, Lord Commander. Do it. JON: But you don't know what it is. AEMON: That doesn't matter. You do. You will find little joy in your command. But with luck, you will find the strength to do what needs to be done. Kill the boy, Jon Snow. Winter is almost upon us. Kill the boy, and let the man be born.
Everyone remembers this scene. Jon Snow seeks Maester Aemon’s advice with regard to bringing the Wildlings south of the Wall into Westeros. He knows it will be controversial and he knows he will face scorn.
Aemon concludes that Jon must do what he believes to be the right thing, not matter what.
I believe this serves as a perfect mirror to Jon’s navigation of the alliance with Daenerys and the moral dilemmas he is sure to face in Season 8 with his family, the North, and Daenerys herself.
Let’s examine how it perfectly parallels political!Jon:
The Setup: In both circumstances, Jon Snow must leave the relative comfort and safety of his “base” of operations. In Season 5, Jon was a newly elected Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. He had made moves to reinforce his authority by having Janos Slynt beheaded for his repeatedly refusing to follow orders. In Season 7, Jon was newly chosen as King in the North. There, too, he made moves to reinforce his authority by mending alliances with the Karstarks and the Umbers.
The easy thing to do is stay there where he’s relatively popular (even if not universally) and also relatively safe.
The Conflict: In neither scenario does Jon WANT to leave. It’s a matter of what he MUST do. He must go towards danger to gain allies in the hopes of positioning the realm better against the WW threat.
In Season 5, Jon feels he must go to Hardhome to bring the Free Folk back south despite centuries of war between the Night’s Watch and the Free Folk.
In Season 7, Jon feels he must go to Dragonstone to bring the Targaryen army back North despite the fact the Mad King killed his uncle and grandfather and the North fought to overthrow the Targaryens.
The Setting: Jon, unique from every other character, is routinely presented as the most democratic political leader on the show. The High Sparrow talked like a populist but made unilateral decisions. Daenerys, Cersei, Stannis, etc. have all had councils to advise them but have ultimately never had their feet put to the public fire like Jon. Daenerys tried when she had Mossador beheaded, and it caused a riot.
Jon is different.
He answers concerns. Some of the other leaders on the show would consider many of the earnest opinions from his subordinates treasonous. No one allows people to speak out against him like Jon does. Part is his temperament, part is his undervaluing his own abilities, and part is his upbringing.
In Season 5, it’s at Castle Black with all the other brothers of the Watch having their say. It doesn’t mean Jon will be swayed by their opinions, but he will listen.
In Season 7, it’s at Winterfell. Some of his most important supporters speak out against him.
The Inner Struggle: In both situations, Jon knows that one course of action is right, even if it causes people to hate him.
That’s part of letting that man be born. Aemon wasn’t saying that you have to be ruthless to rule. He was saying that you WILL be faced with choices where both options are bad and people will be hurt but leaders are in their positions because they are required to do difficult things.
Some of those things might include leaving home. Leaving loved ones. Putting yourself in danger.
In Season 5, Jon’s most difficult disagreement comes with Edd.
In Season 7, Jon’s most difficult disagreement comes with Sansa.
However...Edd stuck by Jon and is basically the biggest reason why the mutineers were unable to destroy Jon’s body before he could be resurrected.
Similarly, Sansa stuck by Jon while he was gone by refusing to usurp his power, focusing on the WW threat on Jon’s word that it was more dangerous than Cersei, and eliminating Jon’s biggest (current) political problem by sentencing Littlefinger to die.
*SIDENOTE* All this talk about the Northerners (and Jon) so focused on the threat from beyond the wall that they’ve not yet understood the threat on the other side of the Wall.......... Ice and Fire ........ anyway...
The Decision: In both instances, Jon is forced to make an unpopular decision.
In Season 5, he makes his final pleas for understanding, not for permission.
In Season 7, he does the same thing. It’s interesting that when Sansa decides to speak, the camera emphasizes an unbroken and prolonged period of direct eye contract between Jon and Sansa whereas the other criticisms focus much more on the rest of the room. The cinematic reason is to show that essentially this became an intimate conversation between Sansa and Jon.
The difference in Season 5 has Jon at a super close up showing that the scene is primarily about him and how he is dealing with this situation. Before Sansa speaks, it is about Jon primarily. However from the time Sansa speaks, it shifts to equal zoom shots of both Jon and Sansa and it’s as if they see only each other.
It’s pretty cool. But why does that matter on a narrative level?
If both situations look so similar, doesn’t that bode poorly for Jon? He was murdered for his actions regarding the Wildlings. If he’s to become deeply unpopular from bringing Daenerys back (and he will, that’s why the show paralleled the Wildling scenario) - isn’t Jon’s death basically a guarantee?
My answer: No, due to one key difference.
The Difference
Sansa is the difference for Jon. Whether you think it will become romantic or not (I happen to think it will) the fact of the matter is that Sansa represents the exact opposite to Jon that Aliser Thorne represented in his absence.
Thorne represented the knife in Jon’s back that Littlefinger refers to as the more dangerous enemy in the books. While Jon SHOULD have earned his trust by naming him First Ranger, he instead plotted to have Jon killed.
Conversely, Sansa has worked tirelessly to maintain Jon’s political support. She has refused to entertain usurping his political power. She grew his army (if you think the number of men referenced by Jon and Sansa means anything) and she’s taken measures to make sure their fed (unlike a certain Dragon Queen who would prefer to burn the food). She’s juggled Bran and Arya’s returns, each with their own difficulties for her on a personal level - and yet the North remains intact upon Jon’s impending return with Daenerys.
When Jon was killed in S5/E10 he had no support system to fall back on once he returned. He granted Samwell's request to leave for the Citadel to protect him, Maester Aemon died, and he was left with no one to watch his back. Whether he got lured to the gate by Olly or not, his days were numbered.
When Jon faces political scrutiny, first for bringing a Targaryen back to the North and seemingly giving away his kingdom to her, THEN when it’s found out that he actually IS a Targaryen himself...there will be trouble. And the only person positioned to protect Jon in a way that he couldn’t be protected at Castle Black is Sansa.
It’s very possible he will be “unnamed” as King in the North - or his crown will only be allowed to stay with him on the condition that he “prove” himself to be loyal to the North. Those are possible scenarios.
Season 7′s Mr. Honesty will be the most disliked character in the North for a time. Daenerys is bound to have her suspicions regarding his loyalties and if there comes a rivalry with Sansa over Jon’s affections, it’s also possible that will factor into her mistrust of the Northerners as a whole. The Northerners, on the other hand, will find out that their king is the son of the man who caused a destructive war. They’ll learn that his grandfather is the one that killed Brandon and Rickard Stark. Even if he hasn’t lied, his existence will be seen as a lie - - unless someone whom the Northerners DO trust is there to pick up the pieces...and that person is Sansa.
A choice is coming for Jon. He will be faced with the prospect of losing either the support of his own people and severing his identity with House Stark or be faced with the scorn of his new ally (who also happens to be in love and/or infatuated with him) and risk imploding the alliance that he believes is the only way to save the world from the Night King.
If R+L=J is a problem for Jon from the Northerners AND with Daenerys...it puts Jon in a vulnerable position. It makes narrative sense that the only way in which Jon can survive this turmoil is for someone to be able to fix the problem for him.
Sansa Stark is that person. A marriage with her solves his issues with the Northern lords. It does NOT solve the problem of Daenerys’ scorn and suspicions. The alternative is Jon staying with Daenerys, embracing his name but not his claim, and severing his relationship with the North. If the Northern lords won’t back a Targaryen, it’s irreparable with regard to his relationship with the Starks.
That’s the nexus of the Dance of Dragons 2.0. Jon CAN’T serve two queens. There’s too much incompatibility between the Jon, the North, and Daenerys.
Jon cares about his home. Jon cares about his family. Jon cares about his people.
Daenerys wants to rule his home. Daenerys wants his family to be politically subservient. Daenerys wants to subjugate his people.
For Jon, it’ll be no choice at all.
There’s a reason they’ve shown Sansa to be Jon’s partner in a way that positions her as a wife rather than a sibling/cousin. She’ll be at his side because she’s already been at his side since they reunited.
His choices have already been difficult. He faces one more tough one in Season 8. I’m pretty sure I know what his choice will be. It will cause fallout and the fallout will be his song.

TO S5 E10
And the countdown to the final 3 episodes begins. Thank god.
- Klaus going after Roman was the best. His little torture speech was lovely minus the poor parenting for tell Hope to kill him. Though personally I think he should have died for sure. I just think Klaus should have done it. - They need to not with Antoinette - They need to not with Declan - Really 1 witch took down Marcel? K. Sure Jan - Josh dying was sad AF - Hope being badass was awesome minus the mass murder, something her mother probs would never want her to do but oh well she’s dead right? - I knew the werewolf curse would be triggered before EOS they have to have something to push for the spinoff of course. I’m sure there’s a lot of crap I’m missing but honestly I just don’t care enough to mention it. I was bored 90 percent of the episode. I’m so glad it’s ending soon.

How I Met Your Mother Enneagram
Ted Mosby 6w5
S4 E19 Murtaugh
Robin: I must say there is something admirable about the way Barney wants to stay young at heart. I mean, who wants to get old? Ted: This guy. Robin, life is a meal and old age is the dessert. I spend so much of my time worrying about the future. You know, “Where’s my career going? Who am I gonna marry?” But when you’re old, you don’t worry, ‘cause all that stuff’s already happened.”
S4 E5 Shelter Island
Robin: Don’t get married Ted. Look, you’re rushing into this. It’s like you’re trying to skip ahead to the end of the book.
S1 E7 The Matchmaker
Lily: Don't Ted-out about it.
Ted: Did you just use my name as a verb?
Barney: Oh, yeah, we do that when you're not around. “Ted-out”: to over think. See also “Ted-up”. “Ted-up”: to over think with disastrous consequences.
Robin Scherbatsky 8w7
S7 E15 The Burning Beekeeper
Ted: I cannot believe you screamed at that woman at Zabar’s. Robin: She was trying to cut in line. She was gonna get the last kugel. Ted: She was 90 years old. It was probably gonna be her last kugel. Robin: Sometimes in life you have to be assertive and stand up for yourself. If I would’ve left things in your dainty, lily-white, never-ripped-an-old-lady’s-wig-off-hands, we would be kugel-free right now. Ted: Oh, so what, I’m too nice? Robin: You never stand up for yourself. Remember that sixth-grader who kept stealing your lunch? You had your mom stop making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because of that girl’s nut allergy. Ted: Okay so what? I would rather be nice than be like you, always getting into fights about stuff that’s not even worth fighting about. Robin: Disagree. It’s like Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War, “Never give up, never surrender.”
S7 E24 The Magician’s Code, Part II
Robin: Aren’t you tired of waiting for destiny? Isn’t it time to make your own destiny?
Barney Stinson 7w8
S1 E1 Pilot
Barney: Ted, I’m going to teach you how to live.
S1 E3 Sweet Taste of Liberty
Barney: Ted, you've been living your whole life in a seatbelt. It's time to unclick
Barney: Our forefathers died for the pursuit of happiness, ok? Not for the sit around and wait of happiness. Now if you want you can go to the same bar, drink the same beer, talk to the same people everyday, or, you can lick the liberty bell. You can grab life by the crack and lick the crap out of it.
S1 E11 The Limo
Barney: Now, people often think that a good mix should rise and fall but people are wrong, it should be all rise, baby!
S7 E21 Now We’re Even
Barney: I was sitting at home and all of a sudden, I had a piphany. Make every night legendary. The non-legendary nights are done. From here on in, every single night of our lives will be a night we’ll never forget. Starting tonight. Who’s ready for the longest, craziest adventure yet?!
S2 E17 Arrivederci Fiero
Barney: Our days on this planet are too few to squander. So I decided from that moment on to continue living life to its fullest.
Lily Aldrin 2w3
S9 E23 Last Forever, Part I
Lily: This right here, this is why we can’t fall out of each other’s lives. We have to be here for the big moments. Just promise me no matter what, we will always be there for the big moments.
S4 E17 The Front Porch
Lily: Think about how much we all mean to each other.
Marshall Eriksen 2w1
S5 E23 The Wedding Bride
Marshall: All right, do you guys wanna know why I’m nice to everyone? It’s because I don’t care about baggage. I mean, most people, they see another person walking down the street with that heavy bag they’re carrying, and they just walk on by. But not me. I look at them, and I say, “Howdy, stranger. Can I give you a hand with that?”
S6 E17 Garbage Island
Marshall: He’ll never get to see how I turn out. I used to always tell [my dad] that I was gonna be an environmental lawyer and he was always proud of me for that. But he never got to see the version of me that was anything but a corporate stooge. And now it’s too late.
James Stinson 7w6
S2 E10 Single Stamina
James: You are young, attractive people here in the greatest city on Earth. There are boys and girls in Nobody Cares, Wyoming, wishing they could be here. But instead, they are in someone’s basement drinking bad malt liquor, debating whether or not they’re going to spend their Saturday night in the parking lot of the feed store or in some other dude’s basement. You owe it to them to rise up, and shimmy your lazy asses into something hot, and you go out there and YOU LIVE THEIR DREAM!
Victoria 2w1
S1 E13 Drumroll Please
Victoria: Do you want to come and cry out here? I’ve been told I’m an excellent hugger.
Zoey Pierson 1w2
S6 E6 The Architect of Destruction
Zoey: I can’t just sit by while voiceless people or animals or even buildings get screwed over.
S9 E21 Gary Blauman
Zoey: The hawk is a majestic creature. She means you no har-aah no! I’m your friend! I’m helping you!
S6 E10 Blitzgiving
Ted: If Zoey is a cartoon character, she’s Cinderella’s evil stepmother!
Zoey: Get out, all of you, out!
Nora 1w2
S6 E16 Desperation Day
Barney: Why aren’t you wearing purple like your friends?
Nora: I told them I forgot. But the truth is I’m protesting their protest. Can you keep a secret? I love Valentine’s Day.
Barney: You walking around saying you’re a gooey romantic? It comes across a bit desperate.
Nora: What’s so desperate about knowing what you want? Look, life’s really short Barney. Who wants to spend Valentine’s Day alone, distracting yourself from the fact that nobody loves you with some sad little activity?
Nora: There is one difference between you and me. I’m not saying any of this to get in your pants.
Karen 4w3
S4 E16 Sorry, Bro
Karen: Your wine list has a Chateauneuf-du-Pape listed under your Cotes de Provence. You might want to alert your sommelier.
MBTI
Ted often gets typed as INFJ when he’s actually ISFJ (believe me, I’ve re-watched the show countless times to know). He likes his routines. He enjoys reliving the past and recounting his stories to his kids in great detail, while a Ni-dom would be way more to the point. It’s only after looking back several years later does he finally draw some insights. An intuitive would have known better who’s “the one” instead of seeing every single girl as a possibility. Most of Ted’s goals in life - career, marriage, family, are rooted in his need for security as an enneagram 6 and Si desire for tradition.
Now who’s the one with intuition? Victoria. Victoria is INFJ. She’s the one with the crazy theories. “The thing that always screws it up is the next day. This is a big romantic wedding. Why don’t we just dance and have a great time, and then when it’s over, never see each other again. No emails, no phone numbers, not even names. Tonight we will make a memory that will never be tarnished. Then when we’re old and gray, we’ll look back on this night and it’ll be perfect.” It’s even suggested that she wants to distance herself from reality. “We’re not gonna kiss tonight. If we kiss, all of this becomes real - then poof, the spell’s broken. The best part of any first kiss is the lead-up to it. It’s like a big drumroll. How about tonight, we just stick with the drumroll?” Ted is always piggybacking on Victoria’s ideas.
Victoria is the one with the great insight into Ted’s life, “Robin is so much bigger in your world than you realize. And this thing that you’re all doing, you and Barney and Robin, where the three of you just hang out at the bar night in, night out, like you’re all just buddies? That doesn’t work. Trust me. I’m right about this.”
Victoria foresaw the outcome. “I really hope you get her some day.” Ted did not see it coming, but Victoria did.
Now the show creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas? At least one of them is INFJ too. They had a grand vision for the show and how it would end, and centered the show around a theme. All that stuff about destiny - the credit goes to the creators, not Ted.
Tracy is ENFP who makes intuitive assumptions about Barney and Lily based off of very little information. Stella is ISTJ and not ENFP like she’s often typed. Cathy (the one who talks a lot) is ENFP and a 9. Robin ISTP Barney EXTP Lily ESFJ Marshall INFP Zoey ISFP. Karen is the stereotype of the ISFP 4w3. Quinn ESTP and probably 8w7 “I just worship chaos”.

Idk if you’ve ever said, but what is your favorite Merlin episode/season
I haven’t said which is unfortunate for you, anon, because I am going to spill my heart and soul...
S1 E1 The Dragon’s Call
If you only ever know one thing about me, it’s that I will always love the first episode of every show I watch. This one is the most iconic opening episode though. It has everything! It’s just so funny (although there are weird tonal shifts considering someone dies and Merlin immediately goes to Gaius’ and cracks some jokes --- c’mon director...). It sets up for an amazing enemies-friends-lovers trope like god. There’s lust at first sight and blatant innuendo. It’s so gawky and endearing; I always watch it when I’m upset.
S1 E4 The Poisoned Chalice (!!!!)
I have an entire post dedicated to my billionth rewatch of this episode because I’m just so heart eyes about the entire scenario. Also doesn’t hold back on the gay undertones --- who made the directing decision of having Merlin laying bed sweating and moaning “Arthur... faster” like I need an essay explanation. The main reason for my love of this episode is the genuine love and level of fondness. It’s been FOUR EPISODES and these boys are risking their lives and sacrificing themselves for each other like what the fuck!!!!!! Bradley and Colin do some stellar acting in this too...
S1 E5 Lancelot
Merlin is like... really gay. That’s it. He had such a big gay crush on Lancelot. This whole ep is his desperate attempts to assist and impress him. Has action! Drama!
S1 E10 The Moment of Truth
Hold on, allow me to WEEP, thank you. Also, I refuse to believe the rest of the series because Arthur definitely discovered Merlin’s magic in this ep and did not give a fuck. So! Emotional! Shoutout to Merlin’s mum, Hunith, too
S1 E11 The Labyrinth of Gedref
Arthur’s character is a bit off at the start of this (Yes, I am criticising the literal writers and proclaiming them Wrong), especially for this point in the season. More! Self! Sacrifice! Can you tell there’s a running theme here? I’m a morbid romantic. Beautiful cinemotography on the beach at the end like it leaves me breathless! “I’m glad you’re here, Merlin” *insert me weeping*
S1 E13 Le Morte D’Arthur
CONFLICT! MISERY! ...NIMUEH..!
S2 E8 The Sins of the Father
Ouch. Just ouch. Arthur breaks my heart and deserves more honesty in his life, that’s all I’m gonna say.
S2 E12 The Fires of Idirsholas
Full of drama and tension yet upholds a great level of visual humour, banter and slapstick. Morgana is incredibly iconic, bless the beautiful Katie McGrath. Merlin is faced with another difficult decision, does the boy ever get a break?
S2 E13 The Last Dragonlord
I’M TOO EMOTIONAL FOR THIS. IT MAKES ME SOB.
S3 E1/2 The Tears of Uther Pendragon - Part 1 & 2
Cry more tears, Uther. Die already.
S3 E8 The Eye of the Phoenix
Nothing like Merlin never listening and Arthur being overwhelmingly exasperated. Also Morgana and Morgause [insert heart eyes]
S4 E2 The Darkest Hour - Part 2
Living for the drama and angst. I am weak for it.
S4 E6 A Servant of Two Masters
Goes from angst to just so funny. Has some iconic quotes.
S4 E13 The Sword in the Stone
Finales are generally just good.
S5 E1/2 Arthur’s Bane - Parts 1 & 2
Mordred... [eyes emoji]
S5 E5 The Disir
Merlin gets weepy, as do I.
S5 E9 With All My Heart
Merlin is just so desperate for Arthur to accept magic. Also, pretty funny.
S5 E13 The Diamond of the Day - Part 2
SOBBING, CRYING, WEEPING AND ALL OTHER SYNONYMS AND VARIATIONS. I HAVE NEVER ONCE KNOWN PAIN LIKE THIS AND I NEVER WILL AGAIN (until like... my next rewatch).
I’m exhausted oh my god... can you tell I am OBSESSED with this, it’s unhealthy. It was my whole childhood aaaa. As for season, I’m pretty sure season one is!
Now y’all should tell me your favourite Merlin season/episode(s)
