as i spiral deeper down the oc rabbit hole, here is a sketch of one of the more,,,uh,,,maniacal ones, like a couple years before shit hits the fan. kind of. plus a dramatic cringy description, if you’ll indulge me.

“Sketch of a young woman found amongst the circus advertisements left behind in the field. It is dated to only a 4 years ago, and the written name is ‘Evangeline’. It is unclear whether this is the name of the artist, or the woman depicted. Due to the recent disappearances in the area in which it was found, nearby residents were requested to view the portrait in the chance that it were another missing persons case. Many claimed the face to be familiar, but no attempts at identification were made. Others were dismissive of the portrait and refused to give comment. It is currently being stored amongst other documents at the station, however it is highly unlikely that any further investigations will be made due to the higher priority cases of the many missing persons in the area.

It should also be noted that no official records state any given permission for a circus to use the nearby empty fields, or of any circus at all for that matter. Again, residents nearby were questioned however most refused to give comment on, or even acknowledge a circus being in the area at all. Those that did attend the show did not state much, the most frequent comment being that it was ‘simply marvellous’ with no further details given.

Further investigations will be made, as these disappearances seem to be occurring in great numbers across the country, primarily amongst the lower class citizens. While it is unlikely that a circus is responsible for this, all possibilities, no matter how ludicrous, must be considered.”

thought i'd share my thought process for this fun lil piece / outfit in full display that i whipped out for beckory on valentines cuz i really had a lotta fun making it <3

OKAY first off, big thanks to @leaky-heart for helpin me gather some really cool outfit refs and for lending me resources where I can find a ref for bonnie's guitar in a 3d space. Thank you bestie, yar a life saver <3

Second, @/littleleaflings' jacket—goated af, will never stop gushin bout it aaaaAAA <3

Okay so looking at freddy & bonnie's designs—i am in love with how their dominant and accent colors are opposite of each other like a yin and yang situation. So i absolutely tried to incorporate that when rearranging the palette unto beckory's outfit

Fronnie's colors arent the only contrasting elements about them. Aside from their earrings, even their symbols are a pair—i love how freddy's is a lighting bolt but he is also associated with stars on the side cuz of his branding. While bonnie's is a star but he also has lightning bolts on the side (the purple accent in his fit) to match freddy

And to sprinkle a bit of beckory flair, i put stripe lines across their pants (if you look back on my ref sheet for the squad, the three amigos all have stripes somewhere in their fits, i purposely designed that to be their thing) just to also unify the patterns from their top

i gave tony a scarf to match greg's bow tie accessory. Its a combo homage to bonnie's headband and bunny ears in a way (cuz the ribbons on its ends look like droopy rabbit ears) i gave them gloves to compensate being unable to add punk bracelets on em cuz it would be too much for the overall look (same logic applies to the star shades, its to match with the top hat)

Also this was such a pure coincidence but i also realized beckory wears their fazwatches in the same placement as fronnie wears their earrings on. That actually makes me very happy, i think its a really cool coincidence

And as yall can see, Greg's jacket initially had stars on his sleeves (like it does in the ref), but i decided against putting it in the final cuz im startin to think it might look cluttered and hard to read from afar and tbh, I really liked how the translucent sleeves turned out... I didnt want the star pattern to cover it up lol

my experience meeting the triplets/ going to their tour ౨ৎ ⋆.˚ ✧

first i just wanna say, i am so so so insanely grateful to have attended both tours and to have met them twice. i’m not trying to brag or anything but a lot of people ask me and i figured it be easier for me to make one post rather than answer inbox questions a million times that get lost.

2/5/23 - let’s trip tour

i met the triplets for the first time during the let’s trip tour. i vividly remember being at work when the tickets went on sale and i was gonna go w my coworker but things fell thru and i went alone, and that alr was nerve wrecking enough. but i met a lot of cool people on line and everyone was super friendly. i got the pre-show small talk package, so i got to meet them before i saw them on stage. i also wrote them letters (idk if they ever opened them) but it was honestly fate when i stopped to drop them off in the present bin because there was a group of three girls in front of me so i wasn’t super rushed when i was meeting each triplet.

i met chris first! i was soooooo nervous but the second i started talking it all went away. the first thing i noticed was how small they are irl and immediately after was how fucking good chris smelled 😭 he was soo sweet. i told him how i loved watching their videos w my mom and that she was his favorite. i can’t rlly remember what else i talked about him with, and i tried to screen record my camera but i didn’t turn the mic on so i lost all the audio 😭😭

next was matttttt the loml. i was immediately soo comfortable around him, i was literally just talking like a normal conversation without even thinking. i asked him how the tour was going and he told me he was sad it was ending soon. and then i told him how one of my best friends is a triplet and we talked about that, he told me his dad is a twin and that everyone thinks he nick and chris are identical but they aren’t. he was so sweet and really listen to what you have to say, i had such a nice time talking with him.

when i met nick my auto pilot like shut off and i froze 😭😭 i literally out loud was like “i am so nervous” and he was so sweet about it, he hugged me a second time and was like “no don’t be it’s okay!” lmfaoo. i didn’t get to talk to him as long but i remember him telling me it was super nice to meet me after.

on line for the red carpet, i met madi! she was just walking around the venue, and she was over by me and i asked for a photo. she was soo sweet (and so pretty irl omfg). i didn’t wait in line for the red carpet for very long, i got merch, and then i did my photo w them :,) tbh i honestly don’t lovee it because i rlly don’t look the best in it lolol. bur ill pull thru and show u all. but this was back when u got to pick ur own poses and we all did hearts with one another (idk if that makes sense) and i stood next to my mannn😛😛

i look so diff now like i actually hate how i look when i met them but that’s beside the point 😭😭 but they all looked sooooo good. also for reference im about 5’3-5’4ish.

show-wise, it was sm more fun than the versus tour tbh. i got to see yung pleit perform and he opened w miss me and everyone was going insaneeeee. i was literally like one person behind the baracade, i was so close it was so so so cool. the triplets went on for maybe twenty minutes but they read the question i asked them which was so cool. and mary lou, jimmy, justin, and nate were all at my show!! they were on the balcony above the stage and were waving to us it was so cute. i had such a fun time at this show i wish i could go back

10/9/23 - the versus tour

this show was soooooo so so so special to me. i was going through a really really hard time. and this show made me so happy and gave me such a nice break from everything. this show wasn’t as close as the first show so i went to with my mom (she was team orange lol). i also got to meet some old online friends i made which was so nice :,) like the last tour, i got pre-show small talk. my only complaint though is that when i bought tickets backstage wasn’t available, some friends and i called the venue and they told us there was no backstage , but there actually was :( but im still sooooo grateful i got to meet them!

the order was the same as last time- chris, matt, then nick. i was so nervous about meeting them again, i literally almost forgot to take a pic w chris LMFAO. he was so sweet, he asked me how i was doing, if i was excited, all that good stuff. this time was a lot more rushed than the first, but i still got a decent amount of time with each triplet. i also got them each to draw me my fav angel numbers to get tattooed, i still haven’t gotten it yet but when i do i’ll post it :)

i was sooo nervous to meet matt again lmfao but as soon as i went up to him i felt fine. i complemented his outfit (he had on his white eeyore jacket 😭😭 so cute) and we took our picture and when i was leaving he told me it was rlly nice to meet me :,)) he is sooooooo pretty irl like his eyes r so blue and his earrings r so sparkly i was literally like in a trance. omfg.

nick was soo sweet he gave me such a big hug and was so smiley and asked how i was doing, same as chris. he also rested his head on mine when we took our pic togetherrr. he was so so kind.

my show was a monday so they had uploaded a podcast while i was on line for the red carpet, so i listened to that a bit while waiting. this tour we had pre-picked poses, but i did the hearts again. i stood in between matt and chris, and i said i wanted hearts and matt immediately did half the heart and put his arm around me so we did the heart tgth 😭😭

lowk not a fan of this pic either but :( so sweet. i love them so much. i also wore platform shoes this time lol so that gave me some height.

the show was so good! so much more entertaining than what the triplets did the first time. it was very engaging, and so fun to watch. lowk bitter i didn’t get picked to be matt’s teammate but we move. anyway. each challenge was so fun, me and my friend knew almost all the trivia questions they did 😭😭 and jenga was sooo stressful to watch lmfao it was so close the whole time, i think we had one of the longest jenga shows of the tour lmfao. chris ended up winning bc matt dropped the jenga tower and they were both tied. it was such a fun experience im so grateful to have gone !

occasionally, he'll be a little caught off-guard with a sudden jumpscare, but he's pretty much fine otherwise

he honestly doesn't really understand what's so scary about them

since i hc iwaizumi to be a realist, he'd be like

it's a movie. it was filmed. those are actors. it's so obvious none of that stuff could ever happen in real life

still, he understands that you're really scared and tries his best to comfort you

time to put those beefy athletic trainer arms to work

he lets you cling onto them for the whole movie and lets you use then as a stress ball

iwaizumi's a traditional, old school, cheesy hopeless romantic. convince me otherwise.

therefore, his method of comfort usually comes in the form of soothing words and back rubs in his arms

its actually quite nice. he lets you scream into his titties (HE HAS TITTIES AND THEYRE MORE ROCK SOLID THAN REGINA GEORGE'S MOM'S. CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.)

when you're truly scared scared (like heart pounding, sobs racking ur body, you're def gonna get rlly bad nightmares type of scared scared)

he will probs turn it off bc he thinks that no movie ending is worth this much terror

he cares about you a lot, after all. he thinks its slightly amusing when you're screaming your head off at the obviously fake blood, but he would never want you to be fearful for real

rubs your back and whispers soothing words into your ear

"its ok" "i'm right here" "don't worry, i'd protect you if they ever came" type of stuff

after you've calmed down a bit, he'll try to make you laugh

jokes, tickles, anything, really!

he hates seeing you scared. he just wants you to be happy

hate to break it to you but

tooru is equally as scared of horror movies

you guys have to cuddle up in blanket burritos together and scream at every jumpscare

honestly you both only make it through the movie through sheer willpower

if you're crying, he'll try to comfort you, but tbh he's pretty damn scared himself

however, once the movie is over, he's totally fine

movie forgotten. out of memories. what movie should you guys watch next?

overall, he's pretty fun and is good at making everything seem less serious. 8.5/10!

honestly, he's as affected by horror movies at the average guy

he doesn't find them as terrifying as oikawa, but he's definitely not as unaffected as iwaizumi

but you'd never know that

why?

he just hides his emotions really, really well

also he just sometimes focuses on the wall behind the tv and drowns out the voices

he just sits through them and bears them, basically

now, why? why in the world would he do this when he doesn't even enjoy it?

to make fun of you, duh. shouldn't that have been obvious?

when you leap 30ft out of your seat into the air, he laughs at you

he'll even add onto your fear by like grazing your opposite shoulder when you aren't looking and pretending he didn't do it

hes a brat

but honestly, he partially enjoys it when you spring onto him at the jump scares, no matter how much he denies it

as we all know, the boys a lil shy about asking for affection

with horror movies, he gets your affection without even asking for it! yay!

but once the movies over, if you're really shaken up, he'll use his giant beanpole arms and spoon you until you fall asleep

but then he'll be an ass about it the following week

pokes, grabs, jabs you and will say,

"huh? it wasn't me. maybe it was the (wtv villain or ghost or spirit or wtv from the movie)!"

2/10. makes fun of you and makes the movie even scarier tbh. the 2 points r only bc of the comfort he gives after its over.

bokuto koutaro

like most things in life, bokuto goes between two extremes, and never crosses into the middle

he's either having super insane cut shots that go BOOM

OR he's doing awful and is in his emo mode

same thing with this

he either isn't affected by it at all and just laughs

or he screams when the character breathes a lil too heavily

now, if he thinks the movie's not scary at all, he's pretty good to watch with if you're super scared

during the scary parts, he lets you cling onto his beefy arm while he just watches the movie in amusement

like there's a really scary scene where there's a huge jumpscare into the most climatic scene in the movie and you're burying your face into his arm but in the background you just hear:

"HAHAHAHAHA! Y/N Y/N! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! HE'S...HE'S GETTING CHASED BY THIS GREY LITTLE CHILD! HAHAHAHA ITHIHIHIT'S EYES LOOK LIKE TAPIOCAAHAHAAHA"

"oh the grey little child is smiling! it's kinda cute! why is the main character guy sweating? he looks like me right after a long game"

"why'd the grey little child pull a purple thing out of his throat? what's that? i wonder what it tastes like though..i think it would be a thick gummy texture, but maybe a little gooey on the inside. definitely grape-flavored. the really sweet artificial good one. oh.. now i want a gummy!"

yeah

he definitely makes it less scary because he makes all the scary stuff seem really stupid

honestly pretty nice. you might not get as many nightmares because of him

now

when he's terrified, he's more terrified than you

DRAWMEGLE DUMP FROM LIKEFORVER AGO

drawmegle was this weird little website that was like omegle, except for drawing and nominally fewer nazis?? tho at launch that was a bit of an issue lol (idk the creator went on vacation right after advertising or something? oops). i got sucked into it for like a day or two and ended up drawing a bunch of stuff. ive lost some of it because there was this weird glitch that just deleted my drawings before i could save them or anything. OH WELL. thats also the reason some of these are slightly unfinished. im also going to be cropping most of these to just my side, exceptions where its funny, or the other persons art was nice or whatever. just know that these almost all had people on the other side who were also drawing their own thing. also of note, i wont be posting these in order of creation, its mostly arbitrary tbh

this first one is of haru from dorohedodo. i had just finished reading the manga about a month or so prior, and i really loved this character a lot. disregard the amogus or whatever. dorohedoro is really cool and its really special to me now. not a fan of the anime adaption but what the fuck else is new (im sorry if you like the anime, i just didnt like the style very much). Q hayashida is brilliant, and she clearly just really loves women like a lot, thank you miss Q!

next is this silly drawing of knives chau. scott pilgrim takes off had just aired, and i was slightly enamored with knives for a bit, i kin the scott pilgrim girl fucking sue me. i also drew kim, but the drawing deleted and this was the last save i had WAHOOOOOO its so fucking over. scott pilgrim takes off was obviously really really good in my opinion, and its like the perfect way to adapt an original work in my mind. uh shout outs knives or whatever.

oops shitty cowboy bebop drawing. i like this one well enough for how goofy it is. jets fucking face still kinda gets me. i love bebop a ton, but i dont think ive ever drawn the characters despite that. theyre actually a ton of fun to draw, like their shapes are all super varied and they have distinct style about them. very good cast of characters. i didnt even realize or mean to, but i kinda gave spike a fucking granny face, oops

uuuuhthese pissing dogs are really funny, they were fun to draw, and seeing peoples reactions to this one in particular was cool. having even a little bit of ability to draw on sites like this where randos are looking at your work as youre drawing it is always kind of an ego boost. like none of these drawings are really that great, but for the medium im happy with them, and having people show up and go "woah" was always really flattering and it was fun watching the other people draw and interacting with them in some limited capacity.

ggggundam bullshit. i left the other persons side this time because i thought it was kinda funny. i had been rewatching the early part of turn A gundam, and it really reminded me how fucking cool that series is? loran is like top 10 gender non conforming mech pilots (there are a surprising amount honestly). and it always kinda takes me off guard when i watch any gundam because they were just so forward thinking in a nominally "boy" coded genre. shoutouts the fucking gundam staff frfr.

a lot of the shit in the second drawing is probably totally incomprehensible to like anyone outside of a select group. were both have that like, 3ds era nintendo brain parasite, so a lot of these are just weird obscure game characters or memes, or just straight up OCs. most of these are actually oretals little characters which have kind of entered that inside joke canon of being so ubiquitous between the two of us (and honestly i assume oretals friend group at large) that i kinda forget "glasses girl" isnt a well known character. many such cases. thank you oretal for drawing silly shit with me! i really like your drawing of james and your madotsuki yapping about blunt rotations to uboa. very cool

uuuh quick fire round of stuff i dont like how i drew but want to post anyways. the first one is my irl husband, aki from chainsaw man. i love him a lot, kinda hate this drawing tho, i think it was the first one i did? the second one is basil from omori, im a big fan of little blorbos who peep the horror, and basil is no exception. my friend got me the little vinyl figure of him for my birthday so i end up thinking about him a lot and i doodle him every now and then. very good design. the last one is kiruko from heavenly delusion. i did not have much hype going into the show after my middling feelings on summertime rendering (they were both in the news for being on disney+ for absolutely no reason). i dont remember what got me to watch it, but by the time episode 2 ended i was stuck in big time. i ended up binging the whole series in like one night and it was such a good time. the prototypical calcium show is probably somewhere between heavenly delusion and made in abyss. its a rough watch at times, but if you have this specific brainrot, its probably one of the best in its league tbh.

second to last is this drawing of vriska homestuck. i kept the other side because it was really pretty. im genuinely quite pleased witht his drawing, its not perfect but for what it is i find it visually appealing enough to like it. vriskas design is probably the best in homestuck, at least to me. its been a long time since ive read through homestuck proper, but something about these little shits sticks with you pretty much forever. actual fucking deadly brain parasites you get from dunking your head underwater in an infested pool, dead within days.

I did some stories for the 40K Secret Sanguinala and Berserk Clangmas exchanges last year! Been occupied with my usual new year depressive breakdown so I'm only just now getting around to going into more detail about them here...

So the prompt I chose for this one was Konrad Curze/Shang including the requestor's various additional likes of smut, consensual relationship, female Konrad & pegging, fixed power dynamics between dominant primarch and submissive Astartes. And I think I met the brief pretty well, tbh.

Kassandra seemed like a good choice of name for a female Konrad. I've seen it done sometimes with Constance or Konnie or various other ways but this is Warhammer, the "Iron Hand, Primarch of the Iron Hands, who has metal hands and a spaceship called the Fist of Iron" setting. Nothing is too on the nose, and honestly for me that's a big part of the charm. So it felt entirely appropriate to name female Konrad after a seer of the future that nobody believes.

But we know what her real name is, don't we? Night Haunter. It probably sounds better in Nostraman but I always enjoy emphasing how that's his true name in his own perception. Sometimes people view him as having dual personalities of the """"good"""" Konrad versus the evil Night Haunter or something, but since he's Space Batman I tend to think of it more in the same way as some portrayals of the Dark Knight where Batman is who he is internally, all the time, and "Bruce Wayne" is just the palatable disguise worn for the benefit of others when it's necessary to do so.

I wasn't vastly familiar with Shang before writing this, but catching up on his appearances I found his dynamic pretty compelling, especially how he's shown to have genuine loyalty and love for Konrad, and it's mentioned that in return Shang is the only one of his legion that Konrad doesn't hate. Not that he loves Shang back or even likes him all that much, just that he doesn't actively loathe him.

That felt kind of interesting to me because of the wider dynamic that the Night Lords all seem to have of trying in various different ways to finally, finally win the affection and approval of a dysfunctional abusive father figure who hates them and himself and the entirety of existence, and the kind of futile hopes that this time for sure everything will be OK and Konrad will recover from his devastating untreated mental health issues and he'll finally like his army of space serial killers and violent criminals.

There's pegging too. Honestly it was fun to air out some of my favourite femdom elements since it's a good proportion of my fairly sizeable collection of romance novels, but you wouldn't know it from my very yaoi-centric fic output.

This was a treat for @chemos-factories who is a wonderful person and deserves good things, based on his request for Perturabo/Clonegrim with Perturabo wanting to acquire a perfect clone of Fulgrim for reasons that he may not be able to admit to himself. The suggested bodice ripper vibes somehow turned into fairy tale vibes as we explore Perty building a palace full of Saw traps to imprison and torture Fulgrim in, and then getting Clonegrim for entirely rational research purposes that have no twisted romantic elements whatsoever...

In the end Perty does not actually get the precious Clonussy but he does perhaps come close to actually learning something about the pain of bearing grudges and hatreds for millennia. Will he listen or actually change? Nah, of course not, this is Perturabo we're talking about. That's the tragedy of his character. But the opportunity was there at least.

And I wanted to give Clonegrim what felt like a proper happy ending for him as his own person. Like sometimes people say he should go and fight for the Imperium and lead the Sons of the Phoenix or redeem the Emperor's Children or something, and I just feel like even if that were possible that isn't, or wouldn't be, his personal goal or dream. So instead he gets to be his own person, living about as freely as anyone can, and have lots of fun Rogue Trader adventures as he explores the galaxy.

Genuinely one of the darker and more messed-up things I've written! The part of the request I focused on was King of Midland/The Torturer, Alternate Universe - The Torturer Is a Slightly Deformed Twink Erotically Obsessed with the King. That sounded interestingly grotesque to me, especially with the "nasty older men" aspect also mentioned in the prompt.

For all that I'm an alexithymic faceblind autist, I like to think I have a reasonable command of the kind of writing tricks that can be used to manipulate people into feeling things about a character and so I really pulled out all the stops for this one to get people to care about Twinkturer aka Frantz.

His name is taken from the main subject of The Faithful Executioner by Joel F Harrington which is a very, very good history book based on the diary of Frantz Schmidt, the city of Nuremberg's municipal torturer and executioner in the late 1500s/early 1600s.

The element of him being one of Gennon's victims felt like an effective starting point to achieve that, and also led to a fairly reasonable explanation for how his obsession with the King could occur in the first place.

The important aspect (as well as making him reasonably pretty as requested in the prompt) was to have it from his POV since everyone is the main character of their own story and (mostly) perceives their experiences and actions in ways that support or explain themselves and their worldview.

Of course, he's also deeply fucked up so his perceptions of things are not at all reliable, and that only gets worse as the distant effects of Griffith and the Hawks start to impact his life. I deliberately didn't have him ever meet any of the main characters in person because why would he? Everywhere except in his own head, he's an utter non-entity at the very bottom of the social hierarchy who spends his time doing horrible things in a dungeon.

He really could have had something with Alek though. They could have been happy despite everything. Sadly it's irrelevant of course, because of the King being jealous and vindictive. My original idea for the character was a bizarro funhouse mirror version of Griffith who has never had anything go right for him, but he ended up being a bizarro Charlotte instead which just added an entirely new layer of disturbing nasty old man exploitation to the story.

I had a lot of fun with this one, which started out as a quick little treat and ended up being almost 10k words of alternate universe Griffguts where Berserk is a TV show and they’re just actors. It's definitely one of those stories that took on a life of its own as it went on and overall I think it turned out well. I'm feeling particularly positive about the humour and the smut scenes here which, to me anyway, felt a lot more comfortable and natural than some of my other attempts at it. Actual improvement from practicing at doing something? Big if true.

I've always really enjoyed reading books/articles and watching videos about troubled and chaotic productions of movies and TV shows. It's fascinating and entertaining in a way I just can't describe to see these vast projects being changed and warped by all kinds of external and internal factors, and the ways in which this impacts the people who actually have to make the show or movie happen.

So in the AU, Guts has recently quit being a professional wrestler to start an acting career instead. He isn't based on any particular people as I don't actually know anything much about wrestling beyond that Rhea Ripley exists but he's aiming to have a kind of John Cena or Dwayne Johnson sort of trajectory.

AU Griffith is just That British Actor, you know the one, he's been in a few different movies and shows but you might struggle to remember exactly which ones. Sort of a blend of Tom Felton, Tom Hiddleston and a very small amount of Michael Sheen, and maybe Jacob McCarthy looks-wise? In any case he likes Berserk and he will achieve his dream of being Griffith no matter what it takes.

The Coriolanus bits, especially Guts finding the videos of it, were mainly inspired by the 2014 version starring Tom Hiddleston at the peak of his Loki popularity, during which he did in fact kiss Aufidius to the delight of the audience, as well as the 2011 movie version with Ralph Fiennes and Gerard Butler which also did a good job of portraying a more gruff middle-aged version of their enemies to lovers toxic yaoi.

I included a lot of fun little details in this one just to amuse myself with the AU / show within a show concept, but as it went on I was actually pretty entertained by working out how to adapt the Golden Age events into the story's low-budget cyberpunk version. Reassembled Cyberdemon Femto was pretty cool to imagine, and since I mentioned SOMA and Virus (1999) as inspirations for the production team in-story here's some pictures for vibes purposes.

Ok…in order to get back into the good graces of the general public, I’ll give you the mick mars birthday bonanza special!🎉🎊

So, i’ll probably start with whitehorse headcanons…you know just to match up with the timeline

- as we all know, mick moved into the whitehorse house once he separated from his wife, so he probably spent most of his birthdays in the band…with the band. now these assholes were very much broke and struggling so i feel like the most they’d be able to do is like buy a cupcake and put a little candle on it as a birthday cake. (but he’d still appreciate it, because at least he has somewhere to be on his birthday)

- his present? getting to stay in the house and live there of course! i think jack would probably take him out to the bar as a present. he’d only be able to buy mick one singular drink, but at least they could watch whatever band was on that night together.

- oh also this band would totally make fun of him, constantly teasing him for “getting older.” just the idea of their kid guitarist aging just makes them laugh cause he’s like 24 with a moustache and two kids, he’s practically already a middle aged man. he already looks the part at least. also they would totally give him birthday beats…so try to imagine four guys ganging up on this little ass ginger haired man, punching the shit out of his gangly arms. (i’m sorry peepaw but it’s just a bit funny ngl)

- also i kinda like the idea of harry and mick having beef, so like harry’s just passive aggressively like “oh, happy birthday…how old are you now, 85?” (even though mick was like one of the youngest members of the band during those times lmaoo)(also, if you’re wondering why im headcanoning beef between harry and mick that’s because that might actually be canon, mick in an interview quite literally said that harry had always bothered him…though harry did help finance one of the bands mick had been in after whitehorse so…maybe one sided beef ig, ok anyways sorry for the lore dump)

- there’s not much birthday celebrating for whitehorse tbh…they’d just treat it like another day. hell, they might even do a gig too, and maybe they’d make a reference to it being their guitarists birthday just so mick feels extra special that day.

The Crüe however…now that’s a different story

- when the band first starts, mick doesn’t tell them when his birthday is. when they ask all he says is “oh, you just missed it.” and nothing more.

- finally, around ‘82, someone finally gets him to tell them when it is (probably tommy, we all know he’d annoy the old man until he snapped). if he manages to tell (possibly Tommy) before his birthday, he’d probably rally the others into trying to do something nice for him. if it’s in the middle of a tour they’d probably celebrate backstage and surprise him with a gift. If they have a day off, they’d try to save up enough money to bring him to a restaurant.

- when they get more established, the celebrations become more elaborate. mick never wants to make a big fuss about his birthday (it’s just another reminder that he’s getting older)…too bad the Crüe don’t give a fuck! during the girls era the boys would definitely bring him to a strip club and pretty much set up a nice little lap dance for the old man (like i can imagine them dying of laughter at micks face when he realizes what they’ve done)…omgggg

- also, side headcanon but i can’t get rid of the idea of tommy accidentally making mention of his age (something like, “34 years old, how do ya feel?”) and then micks automatically turning around and threatening to leave and everyone’s trying to calm him down (cuts to vince going “tommy you promised you wouldn’t mention his age!!” and tommy in the background yelling “I FORGOT!!!”).

- also their gifts would become more expensive the more famous they got. guitars mick could only dream of getting, a motorbike, vacation getaways (because lord knows this man needs one with the crue around). he’s almost entirely too embarrassed to be given such expensive things and every year he keeps telling them to quit getting him things…and every year they keep ignoring him.

- they’re almost always on tour so they’re always celebrating his birthday on tour, backstage, maybe a nice dinner after a show. i like the idea of all of them huddling in one of their hotel rooms and just lighting a cake and singing happy birthday and watching in delight as the guitarist squirms in embarrassment about all the attention being on him. it would be the one and only day he lets them be as overly affectionate as they want to be towards them. as long as he can pretend it never happened after.

- now this probably couldn’t happen irl but check this: maybe the crue hasn’t acknowledged micks birthday all day. they’ve continued on like it’s a normal day. this doesn’t particularly bother mick…sort of. he is surprised the band forgot, because they sure didn’t last year! but, he pretends like it doesn’t bother him. does he wish they’d just hurry up and remember and like get it over with. (he doesn’t realize he feels forgotten, he just thinks he wants to hurry up, sing the song and eat the cake…no babes you want them to remember you exist and secretly…maybe you do want that extra affection??)

- anyways, they get onstage and start the show, and mick has to push his feelings of unease down. they really don’t remember? he pretends he doesn’t care and continues on with the show. halfway during the show they have their first break and mick is walking offstage to go wipe his face, fix his makeup, maybe have a drink or two (or four…he needs to relax and forget about his own feelings about the whole thing!) until he hears vince say his name. he looks back and sees him beckon for him. this has never happened before, so he’s automatically walking back onto the stage. vince introduces him (as if he needs to at this point) and then announces that it’s his birthday. mick is automatically shying away, trying to tell vince to stop, but before he can, vince says something and then music starts playing.

- before mick knows it, the entire crowd is singing happy birthday to him, while a couple of staff members wheel in a three tiered cake. he’s quite literally speechless. nikki and tommy walk in with the staff and they all sing together. mick is in complete and utter shock. those fuckers managed to pretend they’d forgotten all about his birthday while planning this whole thing out. all he can do is stand there with his mouth wide open as they all finish the song and the crowd starts cheering. all he can say when the mic is passed to him is; “oh my god I can’t believe this! thank you so much!” he’s like profusely thanking the audience, while pointing at the rest of the band and going “you bastard you tricked me!” of course he’ll thank all the members for this after the show (the last thing he needs is to get teary eyed on stage (someone has to keep up the “evil tough guy” schtick!). then the band takes pics with the cake, tommy wipes frosting on micks face, they all taste it and then throw chunks of cake into the audience. once the celebration is done, they continue the show. afterwards, mick lets the band hug him…as a thank you for everything ofc! (if you really want the emotionally repressed bastard to have feelings…maybe he sheds a little tear or two and talks about how that was “the nicest thing anyone’s ever done!” for him. but ofc, he’ll pretend that never happened…unless someone took a pic of the occasion!)

omg who wrote a whole damn fic in here?? (pointing at myself.) i guess it’s extremely important for me to redeem myself, but i probably yapped a bit too much! this one was real fun, i love thinking about a man who probably didn’t like celebrating his birthday much surrounding by ppl who want nothing more than to give their old man a good time. i know the crue celebrated nikkis birthday onstage once, but im not sure if they were able to celebrate any of the others birthdays onstage as well. i would also like to state i had top era in mind when writing that last (lengthy) headcanon…but tbh you can just imagine any other era too. anyways i hope you enjoyed this one, think of it as a distraction from that slop i posted like two hours ago!

this one was super fun to write at the time but i do look back on it and like. think a lot about all the things i could improve about it lol. the perfectionist in me has a hard time with this one partially because it's my most popular fic. by like. an INSANE margin. like it's not even close. i mean overall i'm pretty proud of it and i'm SUPER happy and honored people read it, i just think i could do the concept better if i tried it again now.

clean hands to hold him with, a clean house to love him with (sakuatsu/miya twins genfic, 4070 words)

this one started as a short tumblr fic that i made into a longer thing to publish on ao3, and i'm really glad i did. i'm very proud of this fic i think, especially given that i'd never really written osamu before. i'm also really happy with the way atsumu turned out in this one.

where a laugh meets a cry (tamakyo, 5351 words)

i'm still really proud of this one lol. it makes me so happy that it's one of my most popular because i really did put so much love into it. i do think my characterization of tamakyo (kyoya especially) has grown a lot since this, but i'm still really happy with how this turned out. also the response it got was genuinely overwhelming with how kind and generous people were with it, so it has a special place in my heart because of that too.

yeah, i respond to all of them! sometimes it takes me like. a month. but i will pretty much always eventually get back to a comment. i'm so so so grateful every time i get a comment, and i genuinely LOVE hearing people's thoughts on my silly little works! it makes me so happy to read comments and so i always want to give my thanks back :)

What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?

hmmm the first one to come to mind was "in the arms of loyalty and the hands of devotion" because it has MCD and i'm really proud of how i wove that narrative together to end with that, but then i thought about it and i've fully written multiple MCD fics lol. i think "all the things he left you with in the aftermath (& all you'd do to get him back)" does really interesting things with death and hope and tragedy, so i might say that one though.

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

i feel like i mostly write happy endings? so depends what you're looking for in happy tbh. "gonna build you a bridge over the pacific" has a really sweet ending imo and i'm really happy with the way that one turned out.

Do you write crossovers?

not really? i don't think i ever have, now that i think about it. i've written AUs of other media i like, but never a legit crossover. i don't really read them either.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

like yes and no. there was someone(s?) who was really offended by "i've got the matchmaker on speed dial" because kyoya is half-latino in that fic and i got an upset comment and ask lol. but that was resolved pretty quickly imo, so i'm not too hung up about it.

i would be too powerful if i was capable of writing smut so god gave me an extra dose of internalized shame and anxiety to keep my writing prowess in check.

sighing. i am haunted by so many WIPs. i have two drafts for the next pieces to the hearts of our own design series but they've been sitting there for so long. i also have an iwaoi confession/coming out/feelings realization fic that sits and laughs at me while i struggle to write a sentence.

What are your writing strengths?

i think i'm good at capturing emotions in general? idk. i really enjoy figuring out how to describe feelings because they can often be so complex and contradictory. i also have a really hard time describing my OWN feelings, so i get a lot of satisfaction from being able to realistically capture emotion in a character lol. i think even if a character is in a deeply unrelatable position, i'm alright at making it understandable. idk.

What are your writing weaknesses?

dialogue fr. i struggle so much with making characters TALK. a lot of the storytelling pillars i'm at least decent or passable at: i can do the thought process, i can do the character analysis, i can do the scenic descriptions, i can do the sensory feelings. but oh my god i start writing dialogue and the whole time i'm in my head wailing WOULD HE FUCKING SAY THAT.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i don't actually have many opinions on this tbh. i think if it's done, like, badly then it's super jarring and frustrating to read. if it's done well, like go for it ig. but that's kinda just true of everything. all in all, you can make it work for sure if you do it right. it's not really something i'm interested in doing though, stylistically.

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for but want to?

i don't think there's anything really lined up right now! i'm chipping away at my holiday fics and my spotify wrapped prompts and having a good time with those. i'm not really putting anything off atm.

-restaurant date 10/10 -except that it wouldn't be a normal restaurant, it'd be one of those elite, high level, super classy ones that only the incredibly rich people could afford -if it's an indoor one, then he'd pick a secluded table with warm yellow lighting and a lot of other rich ppl stuff -if it's open air, he'd definitely choose a candlelit table at night, with minimal lighting apart from the candles and sky -he'd spoil you a lot that day, as if he doesn't every day already -he'd let you buy absolutely whatever you wanted on the menu, no matter how expensive, all on him -oh and he'd probably shyly feed you a bit himself, and whenever you weren't sitting, he'd hold your hand firmly

HEIZOU

-he's a detective what do you expect? -he'd probably give you the time and place beforehand -turns out it was an escape room he made, and you find yourself locked out with a bouquet saying "Solve this escape room and find me, and I promise you'll find a wonderful surprise waiting. Good luck~" -when you do escape, you'll find him waiting for you in a handsome suit (i imagined it a shiny grey) and another bouquet of your favorite flowers -he'd smile and wink at you charmingly or flirtatiously and say, "Wow [N/N], I'm impressed, that was faster than I expected. C'mon now, don't be upset if you are, because I have a load of amazing stuff prepared for you" -or he'd just go with you to an escape room or haunted house

AETHER

-since he's an adventurer who's been to 4 different nations, he'd definitely know all the best and most beautiful spots for a date -so he'd take you on an outdoor date for sure -it would be a picnic or something tbh -he wouldn't directly take you to the spot, but he'd show you a LOT of places on the way -in the end, he'd take you to this cozy, hidden spot somewhere where there'd be a soft chequered blanket, a lot of food and some books and games -he'd make sure you enjoyed and had fun -overall the date would be just as sweet as he is, which is a lot

delta - actually has kinda expensive tastes and simultaneously no sense of money. he does not know how much anything costs and kinda expects people to just buy him things if he asks nicely. in his defense this always works. was definitely spoiled by the emperor (and to some extent simon and paris) so all the "gifts" he has are fairly expensive/high quality. primarily collects books but also some oddities..... lots of crystals, fossilized remains, medical diagrams. his living space is actually not bad at all. anyway his default taste is p expensive but hes very charmed when anyone gives him anything. he'd probably respond most to the oddities mentioned above. hes good at gift giving because he pays really close attention to people and again has no sense of money so kinda goes way over budget....

kitty - ough...... steam gift cards or surprise games :D other things as well like stuffed animals and over-sized irony clothing. comfort items. i actually feel like shes someone who totally falls for all those weird novelty gifts that they pay popular themed bloggers to advertise. stuff like the projector that shows constellations and costume jewelry. really cute small stuff like that just makes her day a lil brighter. def a merch person as well and reps a bunch of different shows/video games hot topic style. shes probs the best at gift giving just because she has a lot of love in her heart and really wants people to feel special and that shines through in whatever she gets :)

paris - is was like one of the single richest people in the galaxy. generally does not need or appreciate gifts which kinda takes the fun out of it. nezu got him a combat knife for his birthday when he turned ten and he still has it. generally underwhelmed by most presents but he will hold onto handmade items very closely because its rare that he receives them. good at getting stuff that lorry will like by now. would generally get delta whatever if he asked nicely (see above) but those arent really gifts - however he does know deltas interests for that reason so would theoretically be okay at it. he doesnt care about anyone else.

lorelai - same as paris generally, already has a lot of stuff. not big on gifts but appreciates handmade things or sentimental objects. shes kind of a romantic though and is the type to cut out a lock of someones hair to keep in a locket. you have to cut off your hair for her. i feel like shes not that good at giving gifts tbh.

apollo - will genuinely appreciate and be pleasantly surprised by anything and be super gracious about it as well. like if you give him jewelry he is going to be wearing it every time you see him for the next year. would actually benefit from being gifted bare necessities like socks and sweaters because i feel like hes very reluctant to buy things for himself. would also benefit from like. a stress ball + eucalyptus shower steamers + volcanic face mask. hes another one who works himself up over nothing and tends to neglect his own mental health so anything for stress is good. he has an average level of gift giving skills.
