Ford is Not used to being dependant on someone as an adult - especially since Stan isn't dependant on him At All in return. It's gotta be doing weird things to his neurons, he would probably sit like a dog if Stan told him to, he is pathetic amounts of in love with him this is past partner in crime he's his hero, his guide, his Muse, his god, Ford is in a really weird headspace

OOOH i love this version of stancest sm. i know this is likely about the little ford au but i also just love this kind of stancest in regular sea grunkles and kills me. so much of stancest (and tbh just in their canon dynamic) is stan nipping at ford's feet and following ford's lead even their sea grunkles era. a lot of darker stancest always infers with ford being obssesive and controlling too and usually stan lets it, because hey thats their dynamic and its better than nothing.

but the opposite has SO much potentil. ford following stans lead. to think of ford realizing that he's way WAY out of his depth and that he needs stan way more than stan needs him now?? maybe he ALWAYS needed stan more than stan needs him?? after all, what did ford say about how stan wouldve been able to see through bill's tricks?? if they were together, the apocalypse wouldve never happened...

ford would think he's so lost now, lost without any purpose now that bill is defeated and he doesnt want the fame anymore either now that he knows his chase for it is what made him lose his brother, so he feels SO empty. except hes not. theres stan. stan whos strong, brilliant, charming and the most selfless hero ford would ever know.

ford wants to protect him so much but another day of stan saving his ass from a monster they were investigating (because he got too curious again) and ford thinks he could never EVER measure up to the way stan protects him, loves him, cherishes him and takes care of him. it makes ford feel awful, unworthy of this love after he promised he'd do anything to earn back that second chance stan too gracefully gave him. he can't fathom the idea of stan finally wisening up and leaving him even if its no less than he really deserves, because what else will he have anymore if he doesnt have his best friend, his hero, his true muse? it'll fester in his mind, growing and growing and growing, and he shoves it down deeper and deeper as much as he can.

but one night, one bottle and a million inhibitions thrown over the railing of the stan o war, he'll finally break when stan smiles at him while they sit on the deck, looking so happy when that makes no sense.

stan deserves the world, the entire galaxies, and ford can't give them to him at that very moment. he'll start crying, overwhelmed with how much he loves stan and how stan deserves the best— one ford has to grudgingly admit isnt him.

"woah, woah, sixer," stan interrupts worriedly, face falling. "what's wrong? come on, we arent even that drunk yet."

the joking tone makes ford feel worse, because how could stan stop smiling because of him and still try to make ford feel better? "i'm sorry," ford chokes. "stan, god, i'm so sorry."

"stanford," stan says placatingly. ford understands that stan understands too, that this isn't about the alcohol, or about crying out of nowhere. his hands cup ford's face, so large and warm, like a place where ford could hide his face forever with the depths os his shame and stan might even let him. that breaks ford even more. "hey come on, bro, s'okay..."

"don't leave me."

"i'm not leaving you, your big brain knows that."

you should, ford thinks but will never say, because he can't. "i can't lose you again," ford whispers with shaky breath. "i w-wouldn't know what to do with myself—"

"ford—"

"— because you're so brilliant, and brave, and good—"

"— i guess but—"

"—you're so good stan," ford interrupts whatever faux preening stan was going to do. his brother doesnt believe him, and ford practically crawls into his space.

"you are so, so good. you are so good and you don't even realize, i—" ford's breath hitches. "i don't even know how i could ever repay you..."

"pff, alright," stan scoffs, looking away, cheeks bright red and smile unconvincing. "jeez ford, you really are drunk." he laughs, his shoulders stiff and unmoving. "like what, are you trying to suck my dick?"

"is that what you want?"

stans eyes snap back to him, wide and full of shock.

"what?"

"is that what you want me to do?"

"no, ford– i'm not–"

"stan," ford says, reaching his hand now to cup stan's face, and god he's just as much of a perfect fit in ford's as he was in stan's. stan is so much bigger and better than anyone else, but with his own extra finger he just might be fit for ford. "stan, it's okay. whatever you want, whatever you need, i'll do it. for you."

sort of something like that. i really really like to think of a slightly toxic, but like in the "its toxic and also the healthiest way this dynamic can really go about" ending where ford tries to overcompensate to stan with sex and romance and stan is relunctant at first but seeing just how willing ford actually is really starts getting into the whole dom/sub— which fulfills some purpose for ford AND he gets to have stan come all over him so its kind of a huge win on all fronts

that's a great question, thank you for asking! i think kara and damian would like each other and make a great team. if it were up to me, i'd give them a "world's finest" book. but i'm biased since they're two of my favorite superheroes lol.

kara is a very skilled superhero, and damian would respect that. she's also very direct, which is another thing damian likes. plus, kara wouldn't treat him like a kid. she'd treat him like a partner and respect his opinion, which is great for him because damian hates being patronized. basically, similar to how dick treated him during their time as the dynamic duo. kara would be like the cool older sister who considers your opinion and what you want until shit really hits the fan and she needs to step up as the adult in the situation. sure, that might annoy damian, but since it would only happen once in a while, he'd get over it.

as for how kara would view damian, i think she'd also have a high opinion of him. is she going to be annoyed by some of his early remarks? absolutely. is she going to laugh at some of them? probably! there's no universe where damian calls tim ugly and kara doesn't laugh.

kara would see past damian's facade and into his true self. sure, when he first appeared, he was a jerk, but he was also just a kid, and kids aren't always great with emotions. it makes sense why he was the way he was. kara wouldn't enable his behavior, but she also wouldn't hold it over his head. and in recent years, we've seen damian regain his autonomy, open up more, and just be more relaxed in general. so they wouldn't even butt heads about him being a needless jerk. in fact, kara can be an asshole too sometimes, so they can be haters together.

there's also a nice parallel between them because they're both firstborns in very powerful families, meaning their lives were destined to be hard from the start, and a lot of weight was always going to be put on their shoulders. they both come from different cultures and had to adjust to the american one. you know, they can bond over hating american food. and they both have controlling parents, kara with alura and damian with bruce, so they'd relate to each other there too. i think kara would see a part of her younger self in damian, the same way she did with ruthye, and have a soft spot for him. she'd be proud to see him grow more and more as a person and choose peace for himself. they are also both cat people, and us cat people must have each other's backs. streaky and alfred would also be friends!

there's also the whole thing about fandom mischaracterizing them as angry and violent when they're actually very kind and compassionate, but that's a whole different topic.

all in all, i think they'd work great together.

Thought I'd write about TSS again!

In case some of you are wondering: what creative choices I made about it, etc: Mild Spoilers Ahead (v mild idt there are actual spoilers in here tbh)

"I'm manhwa only and I'm craaaving more of Ludger's hilarious internal monologue and snarky remarks. I also wanted him to do more teaching because his school interactions made me happiest. I also wanted to challenge myself: can I make a romance for a character like him? It never felt right to me for the AUP canon to have romance, and I thought about what kind of enigma she'd have to be to match Ludger equally. What kind of character interactions would they have? What about their character arcs? How do I make it realistic? How do I make it enjoyable for people?

Anyway, I ramble because I got excited over writing this. I plan on writing more chapters."

Okay first of all let me get this out of the way: the plot was non-existent at first it was supposed to be episodic aka a colelction of oneshots that had a slow moving plot.

The first few episodes was for Ludger simping cause I thought, oh, it might make them stick around enough to like my OC LMAO cause I didn't know if people would like her at the time.

And I originally planned this to be like 25 chapters max.

(I am currently writing 60 and I don't think we're halfway yet) THE PLOT HAS EXPANDED.

Like… there is a whole ton of worldbuilding???

Some creative choices:

I decided to make them friends from the start of the fic, and have them start as liking each other already (flirting. Ik, might be weird for some to imagine) and then the backstory comes later (otherwise it'd be boring???) but yeah it'll eventually get revealed.

There is a whole chapter 1 dedicated to why i wrote the work lol that was the initial thesis which is an expanded version of what I said about the fic above.

It was supposed to be slice of life but then my brain really latched on to the idea of "I made this fic because I really want Ludger to heal from trauma but if I just made him go to therapy then I'd have no plot" and Ludger is NOT emotionally intelligent enough to like find his healing via found family imo, so I think there needs to be an external force aka another person who is more emotionally intelligent to make the pairing work.

I deliberately decided to make the FL have trauma too — because I'm really passionate about writing character-centric stories and I wanted to respect the entire healing process like healing isn't linear, and I wanted to focus on really making a healthy relationship BECAUSE HEAVEN KNOWS WE NEED IT what with Ludger's baggage??? so I thought hmm if she had her own trauma you know, her own skeletons she'd understand him more etc.

ik I said I'd have him interact with students more but that's mostly concentrated on the earlier chapters BUT I am moving towards that again. In Season 2 there are more characters involved! and yes i plan on adding more student interactions!

I didn't plan this lmao but lots of side characters get more lore too, like Merylda is pirate-coded my hc is that she was an adventurer and she's the big sis type of character. Selina is the innocent one but Esmeralda is still in her somewhere. Chris Benimore gets a more compelling redemption arc. Even the Chancellor gets a bit more lore.

Going back to Ludger and OC — I wanted the power imbalance to be minimized to reduce the icky — and it was important to me for them to be equals intellectually (cause like how do you even equal Ludger when it comes to magic??? lmao) and it made sense since it's an academy setting so it's actually like kinda dark academia-y?

There is a whole-ass bigger plot than what's currently written BUT there's a LOT of foreshadowing.

About the FL

(this is the updated version but the Chapter 1 also has it)

I made it a very big point to not make her a mary sue like it was very important for me that she isn't a self-insert.

She teaches Botany/Potions!

She's an Imperial Scholar! (think, national scientist kinda title) so it's like their intellect jives well together

eventually, they will do dumb things together that will make people think they share exactly 1 (one) brain cell

She wears a monocle. (my hc is that when she finds out that Ludger is James Moriarty, she will tease him that he got the idea from her)

She banters back! She is not a shy FL you'll see it by Chapter 3 LMAO??? (I personally find it weird when grown adults kinda shirk away from R18 topics? But it might also just be my desire to portray realistic human relationships so yeah.)

Not in the chapter 1 intro: She has trauma too, and she also has secrets which will slowly be unraveled! and Ludger's secrets will slowly be unraveled to her too.

Why you might not like it:

Heavy topics are discussed. But I swear to the stars (and if you see some of my author's notes on here at tumblr and if you see how i work etc you will see that I try my best to think about the story deeply and since my entire thesis is trauma/healing (BUT WITH COMEDY a lot of that and fluff too) and therefore they are treated with the utmost care and sensitivity.

Slow burn, but not a crawl, but it's LONG I personally do not read a whole lot BUT a lot of people like long fics apparently so this might be a win.

There is smut. Highly consensual. Healthy. And most importantly, plot relevant (Ik, porn with plot, who would've thought—) But still, smut.

and some people might not be into that although i try to heavily tag my work you CAN skip over those though

I said I wanted him to talk to students more but I realized in the middle that wasn't the main focus (because romance and I was trying to build the foundations of the relationships and the characters put me on a chokehold and ran away with the plot) they will be featured more prominently eventually though! (Season 2, after setting the groundwork in Season 1, has more characters fleshed out)

I feel like it really diverged from the original plan of like "lets just keep it comedic and light" cause it got deeper into things and IDK if that's a minus in your book but yeah ig just, CW apply

Now that that's out of the way (I figured I'd do people a favor if some of these things will turn them off from the work so I wouldn't waste their time)—

The relationship is very healthy.

Since I am a cryptid and I like to plan my story, there's a LOT of foreshadowing and easter eggs and callbacks it rewards those who like to re-read (totally optional. But also, HOPEFULLY when things start exploding in the plot it'll all make sense)

Some feedback I've gotten is that the characters are very well developed! I think that's the biggest strength of the work, too. I spend a lot of time on the characters and their interactions and dialogue and just how they bounce off of each other (and not just Ludger and the OC I mean everyone.)

What if Korn took Nampheung, not out of obsession or some freaky desire to attic wife her, but to please his father? I think it’s pretty much a given that his recitation of the shooting events is a lie and that Gun’s is closer to the truth. 

In both versions, though, they are there trying to persuade Nampheung to come home again because their dad is insisting. I’m guessing that since Nampheung has yet another son, their father is ready for her to come back into the fold, bringing her kids with her. Korn kills her husband, obviously to get him out of the way. But I think that he didn’t want even more competition against his own sons for a place in the family. Vegas and Macau were enough. So he brings her and leaves Porsche and Chay behind. 

And then he tells his father the same story he told Gun, but in reverse. Gun freaked out. Gun killed Ted. Gun killed Porsche and Chay because he’s obsessed with Nampheung. Gun tried to rape her. Keep her locked away and safe from Gun. It’s enough to make Gun completely lose favor with his father. Nampheung either tries to kill herself because she thinks her sons are dead as well, or Korn just keeps her drugged up. Now he’s eliminated both rivals for the head of the family in one fell swoop. After his father dies, he keeps her because why not? She’s completely under his control and someday he might need her as a weapon/hostage (turns out he does). 

What if Porsche is actually Gun’s son? Gun doesn’t know it, Nampheung didn’t tell him — I’m thinking one night of passion and her realizing that is she was with him, she’d never escape the Mafia life, or they knew their dad would never allow it. So she just ran off with Pat, who married her to protect her and the baby (maybe he was already in love with her, maybe they fell in love later.) But Korn knows it or at least he’s pretty sure of it. It would explain his interest in Porsche but not Chay, who would presumably be more malleable for Korn’s needs. (I know people have explored this possibility in way more depth than I can).

Yes, I know that would make Porsche and Kinn actual cousins, but look, I’m watching a show where a severed head in a box is considered a gift, and a torture raincoat standard equipment. Every romantic relationship on this show is ignoring the guy on the ship waving blood-red semaphore flags in frantic “danger, Will Robinson” messages. I promise you, my line is not a consensual romantic relationship between two blood-related adults who didn’t even grow up together. 

TBH, I’m just throwing this out here because I want Porsche and Vegas and Macau and Chay to have to navigate an enemies-to-brothers relationship. Porsche and Vegas, two men conditioned to love and protect their brothers, having to deal with their super awkward relationship. Chay and Macau, both used to being the adored baby brother, unable to stifle their resentment and confusion. Heck, they’re still babies, so send them off to camp together so we can have a Parent Trap type bonding situation. Y’all I just want one of those cheesy 80s, defensive “that’s my brother!” moments.

What if Porsche becoming Tankhun’s bodyguard was meant to be a test by both Khun and Korn as well as taking Porsche off of the hot seat for a minute? Korn brings Porsche in, is delighted by his moxie, puts him on the board as an actual player, and then he’s just a disaster who almost gets himself killed by the Minor Family. So, letting him be Tankhun’s bodyguard got him out of the spotlight for a minute, long enough for the Minor family to move on to other grudges. And it was a test to see if he had any ambition, any edge at all. That’s why Korn does not want him to guard anybody else when Porsche suggests it. He passed the test and needs to stay in play. 

Khun sees Kinn’s interest in Porsche. After all, Kinn comes personally to rescue Porsche from his fish-killing punishment. Switching Pete and Porsche protects him from Minor family retaliation(because come on, do we really think that Vegas was gonna let that go? If he hadn’t wanted to use Porsche, he would absolutely have gotten revenge.) It also gives Khun a chance to study Porsche and see if he’s worthy of Kinn’s attention. When he decides he is, he nudges him back toward Kinn ...mentioning the meeting, telling him that Kinn said he was useless and would get killed, eventually “giving” him back to Kinn with the flimsiest excuse. 

@iamcon-fu-sion mentions some of these ideas about the bodyguard situation in their KP rewatch and I was so happy to see that because I constantly think I’m over analysing everything about this show(I mean I’m not gonna stop though). 

What if Ken wasn’t the original mole? What if it was a lower-level bodyguard, and he didn’t betray the main family until Porsche came onto the scene? Maybe he’d already turned down the offer before. Then Big gets hurt and Porsche comes along out of nowhere. By rights, Ken should have moved into Big’s spot, but Porsche stops that, humiliating them in the process. Porsche continually fucks up and yet still fails upward. Sure, they made fun of him being Tankhun’s bodyguard, but realistically, Tankhun has the best bodyguards they have other than Big and Ken. 

Arm and Pete are constantly pulled into other missions because they’re so valuable and talented. Maybe no one wants the job, but it’s still one of the most high-ranking. Then, when Ken does get the head bodyguard job, it’s yanked back out from under him. He has no idea that Porsche is getting all kinds of nepo baby/sugar baby privileges, but whatever is going on is enough to leave him bitter, angry, and betrayed enough to go over to the minor family.

Chapter 144 thoughts!

So they’re cutting ahead again, and I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, we’re still building on Ruby’s character arc regarding her feelings for Gorou, so it makes sense.

But on the other hand, the implication that they’re doing the entire movie chronologically means that Hikaru and Ai’s part of the movie together is over, which is ludicrous to me because Aqua’s “ultimate revenge play” fantasy that he’s been coming up with since childhood has ultimately just been “the Uwuification of Hikaru Kamiki”

I’m not too phased because I still think we’re going to return to it, Frill was confident from script alone that Aqua was trying to kill his father, and there was an emphasis placed on Ai denying Hikaru. I’m not sure why it hasn’t happened from a watsonian perspective (maybe hospital availability pushing those scenes up?) but from a doyalist perspective I could see it being the climax of Ruby’s character arc which she isn’t ready for.

It’s another one of those “I can’t really judge it until I’ve seen the rest of the arc” things so I’ll try to just judge it for what is is right now.

Melt looks so good as Gorou! I didn’t think much about the casting when it was announced but he’s really bringing the role to life.

Ruby chiming in to essentially go “no he wouldn’t fucking say that” is both funny and indicative to the entitled perception and attachment she feels to him. It specifically gives me a lighter version of Nino talking about Ai

I like how Melt talks about understanding Gorou here. He really is an understanding and empathic person and it shines through in his acting style. Him calling the role “cool” is cute to me.

Ruby really gets mean here in a way that almost comes off as out of character. It reads to me like her obsession is growing more toxic, or maybe some lingering cruelty from how she was behaving before, but it is a little jarring.

Melt’s interpretation of Gorou is spot on to me, he understands Gorou’s subtly and respect better than even Ruby does. (Though @aihoshiino pointed out to me that Gorou is implied by the anime and the chapter where his corpse is found to have had his keychain out the whole time in front of Ai. Still, in terms of his professionalism and hiding that he’s a fan Melt gets it)

It makes me wonder what his information is. He doesn’t know Gorou’s name (which makes sense since Gorou can’t legally consent to his name being used) but he knows his history with Sarina enough to guess she gave him the pin.

The pin’s relevance to her turnaround feels very rooted in sentimentality. I really like the concept of it, but it feels a bit dangerously close to Comedy!Ruby from the Hikaru Ai scenes. I think I like it more here though, as it feels more in character and purposeful.

Crow girl in the tree like a creature is healing me tbh. I know a lot of people are skeptical of her and the supernatural element her presence enforces, but I’ve always found her so interesting and fun and I’m happy to see her again.

Interesting that this location seems significant to her, considering her first appearance here, as well as the fact that her two reincarnation targets where here when they died. Her implying there may be more special people is interesting. I wonder if any more will come into the story, though part of me doubts it.

This might imply characters we’ve met have god attachments without even knowing it. Simple guess here would be Ai, there’s precedence for her to be connected to the “God of Entertainment.” Though even if she was, I’m sure what kind of relevancy that would have -if any- considering she is dead and confirmed never coming back, but it’s interesting to think about.

See? She’s such a goofball! Between this and Aqua bullying her into being an actor, she’s been a strong comedic pillar in this arc.

All in all, a pretty decent chapter, kinda annoying in its placement, but much better than having the skip week after last chapter.

Sims 2 Legacy have taught me we have a whole population out there who are incapable of reading and using the internet yet swears Legacy will run on win 10/11

Meanwhile about half the player base is reporting that Legacy runs worse than UC nowadays.

But it's so hard to make UC work! in the 2010's yes. This is 2025, today you can make it work within one single installation. We know it was hard, so the community literally made a tech dummy safe version

But Legacy should run better! And it's EA. When they make a patch to make it run better in a few weeks they'll break the game in new ways. Maybe all items from the pets expansion will be missing, what do i know.

But Legacy has no pink soup! This is a complete lie by EA. Pink Soup is when polygon is too high for your computer to load anymore or missing textures. Modern pink soup exist in sims 4 where some people report they get checker patterns on their sims. Pink soup exist in any game. Sims 2 just have another limit than most games since it can only run so much even on a good computer due to the time it was made.

Legacy keeps crashing when I make a family but at least they are in the bin when I reopen! So it still runs better! TBH please be concerned it crashes every time you introduce new poly to the game. That's abnormal. No sandbox game should crash when that happens. Not even the UC for tech dummies does that.

Legacy is only missing IKEA but that won't hurt! Did you know a big part of the mods and CC in the community is bound to IKEA? Yes there is mods and CC which works without. But a big part is still bound to IKEA. (However I heard this might be fixable by downloading "Ikea" folder and slap it into the game.)

Legacy is for the middle aged women who stopped playing the sims! Nothing was stopping them from coming back either. The community is helpful and had they just asked were we nearly ready to install it all for them.

Legacy is one of the better products of new EA ...EA could have great sims games if they just hired modders since modders apparently can make the game work and EA can't. Remember how somebody who had never modded before got pissed over some sims 4 packs not working that they began modding! If EA wanted to do legacy right they could have hired Nopke and some other modders (instead of stealing their code without understanding it). And it can't be a better product of new EA since it was made in the 00s. EA just got somebody to touch old coding (Which is properly not taught in schools anymore) and hoped they could fix the basic problems (cue to this coder watching a bunch of youtube tutorials from the community properly).

Heyy so i came across your blog and I LOVE it! I love how you analyse Ai because her character is so fascinating!

You know i always considered Ai to be unfortunate when it comes to right environment and people. From the very beggining her mother neglected her, other idols were really jealous(and many other people tbh) and etc..

Because of this I believe she never got the chance to develop herself emotionally, in the sense she either isn't sure to how to react or she never realizes/acknowledge her emotions. Which caused her to lie and put up a mask. Hence in Viewpoint B she says she is natural born liar. So it makes me think maybe she is contradicting because she isn't sure anymore. She knows she can't distinguish between her lies and truth. That's why even when she says lies are exquistie form of love but never once told the twins she loves her because she dodn't want to lie.

So there are two ways I see this:

She wants to love others like her fans and other members of B-Kamachi, for that she lies. Saying "I love you to fans" or "I am interested in you too" to Nino as Ai can then believe that she can love them. It is stated she couldn't love or trust people so maybe for these people she deep inside never felt love but wanted to love because she was desperately trying to love.(I think Ai was trying to love because she never experienced love so other emotions were foreign to her, so to feel something she wanted to love?) Here Ai lies to love.

Another way is her love for Aqua and Ruby. Ai knows lying is bad and still restorts to it to love others but never told the twins that lie because she was scared. Ai said 'I love you' when she was 100% sure those words weren't a lie. In this context Ai never lies to love.

So in the end idol ai and real ai are two sides of same coin.

Ps-Also maybe the lines "Sorry I can't love you" to Hikaru signify that she consider him to be important or something? But she never felt that 'spark' of love she was hoping for, maybe because he might be the first person she 'loved' or at least close to it?

This is pretty much my take on it too! Being in a home environment like the one Ai grew up in really stunts your emotional growth and your ability to learn how to socialize. That on top of Ai already being neurodivergent in a way that affects how she processes social information means she was always on the back foot and struggling to catch up in terms of understanding herself and other people. This is made ten times worse by the way other people would misread Ai's intentions and actions and react in accordance to what they think she means, which makes it even harder for Ai to understand and make herself understood... so it all just snowballs into tragedy.

As for Hikaru, my best guess is still that she was, essentially, apologizing for not being able to love him in the way she felt she should have. The sense I get from Ai is that she has a very idealized version of what 'love' is in her head, born out of never having it and being raised in the entertainment industry that loves to simplify and commodify it. Since she'd never loved or been loved by anyone before, she had no frame of reference for her own emotions but because they didn't exactly match the simplistic, almost fairy tale like depictions of love and romance in popular media, she concluded that whatever feelings she had weren't 'love'.

now there is at least two answers for this, i have many many thoughts on the topics and i hope i can get em all out lmao

i LOVE a good joker arc, some defining moment in a characters life that just breaks or changes them in some way, this doesn't fully happen for v but she stands on the precipice plenty of times.

namely the vdb debacle and when she gains control of the blackwall via songbird. (there might be more but it's been a minute since i properly played)

now what do these two instances have in common? netrunning/ hacking. this song (and others like it) always get me thinking about v getting lost in the power she holds with her quickhacks.

a cyberdeck wasn't even her first choice, she wanted berserk in combination with gorilla arms but viktor refuses to install them for her. she could go to a different ripper to get them obviously but he's the only doc she trusts and who won't rat her out to the authorities for having cracked soft. (this explanation is a bit underbaked i will admit) she also knows he's lowkey right, she cannot be trusted with that kind of chrome.

now one could argue that being able to kill people via command does more damage than a pissed off ape but maybe she can control herself better than vik gives her credit for. or maybe he's not too familiar with netrunning/ hacking.

there is also the aspect of v knowing exactly what happens when she uses a hack, she wrote the code herself. (i'm not saying she invented them but they are her own versions, either written from scratch or modified some way)

my favourite example for this is the suicide quickhack: v takes control of the target for a few moments, she has to raise the gun, she has to pull the trigger, she has to leave the person's consciousness before they die but not too early or they will flinch away at the last moment. she doesn't die if she stays too long but the repercussions can be dire anyway: she passes out, there is psychological damage etc. if the target is right and she executes it well it can be pretty fun though, sort of like playing russian roulette but without dying.

but to get back on topic: i LOVE the mental image of her just standing in the middle of a bunch of enemies, activating overclock to wreak havoc on them AND herself.

i also enjoy copy-paste - she makes herself an easy target for another runner just to pull this out of her sleeve and fuck them over so much more, she simply IS better.

this mindset is also reflected in her aversion to chrome, she doesn't need it or rather she doesn't want it. she is better than them, she is built different. now that is simply not true, she can tell herself that lie as often as she likes but she needs cyberware to keep up. (i actually have a background story for this, maybe i will even write it one day)

so she slowly begins to betray herself: she replaces her glass eye with kiroshis, she installs extra ram, she gets the reinforced tendons. these changes come slowly and her body is still mostly ganic by the end of the game but in quiet moments she hates herself for caving in and for enjoying it.

ultimately: power corrupts, nobody is immune to that.

any otep song tbh, since it's the band i chose to use for rotten (her band) and v turns into the worst version of herself when she's on stage. it's one of the reasons she decided to end the band in the first place, though everyone involved just thinks she was being asshole (they ain't wrong)

her whole band era was a double edged sword, on one hand she finally had a voice and was adored by some but at the same time she had never been more miserable. their songs are filled with her traumas and that puts her back into a powerless position, add the adrenaline of being on stage and you get a truly volatile concoction.

i think, sunoo has spent a lot of time reflecting and thinking about what he really wants for his career. it seems like he's had many moments where he wondered if this was the right path for him to chose. i get the vibe he often felt like it isn't really fulfilling him the way he thought it would. there's this disconnect emotionally, where he feels like "yeah, i'm doing everything the way i should, but why do i feel so incomplete?" he also just feels disconnected to this true and raw self. like, he's still finding out who he really is, and thinks he's still got so much to learn. he realizes he's still pretty immature in general. lacks experience that gives him stability and emotional maturity.

if you kept up with my enhypen readings, you'll know he isn't really the type to express his true, unfiltered thoughts or feelings openly as much. like, he's good at making it seem like he does, but in reality he worries and constantly ponders upon so many things on his own behind the scenes. i'm not gonna lie, i just don't think he has that emotional connection to the rest of the group, that'd enable him to comfortably voice his worries. he feels isolated and detached from them. they're friends, but there's no deep bond on his side. so, he's feeling kinda confused and lost as it is, but on top of that he just can't let those concerns out, which makes things even more difficult for him. i also think when he talks about his worries, he struggles wording it in a way where it seems genuine? you know, when you're affected by something, but have problems bringing it across in a way where people understand and take you seriously? that's the vibe i get from him. he might feel silly, and can have an ego as well, so he doesn't like putting himself in a vulnerable place with the risk of seeming "weak". in general, sunoo's career is fine, he's definitely still in the beginning and is more of a student and learning, but i don't see a direct problem work-wise. he's just dealing with many personal insecurities and doubts.

what does he want for his career?

wow. he just really wants to blossom into his best self and thrive much more than he is right now. being a cancer sun, i definitely see sunoo as the queen of cups here. (note, i got the page of cups for him right now, which is kinda the younger, more immature version of the queen of cups. so he basically wants to grow!) sunoo is beautiful, emotional, sensitive, empathetic, gentle and in touch with his feminine side. his strong aries moon can easily make him seem too self-centered, when in reality he also has a very loving and kind side in him. and i think sunoo himself knows that side doesn't come out as often as he'd maybe wish, especially in front of cameras. since he still struggles getting ahold of his emotions a lot. not only does he want people to acknowledge that side of his, he also wants to feel comfortable enough in his skin to really embrace his authentic self. i'm not kidding when i say i get the three of swords for this boy in every single reading. he has been hurt and wounded a lot. very sensitive boy. he really wants to strongly overcome all the pain, that he feels like might be holding him back from really being the best artist he could be. he wants to be assertive and solid in his career. still sees himself as too easily hurt and too softhearted.

he really wants to work on his skill, because deep down he truly believes he has a lot of talent. he does know he's someone born for the spotlight, who thrives when all eyes are on him. he wants to realize his true potential and really tap into it. he wants to feel like he's doing well, he wants to feel proud. he wants to be a person who's good at juggling and balancing many things in his career and won't get overwhelmed by his busy schedules. i also think, he just really wants to stand out from the group. he feels like constantly staying stuck as a member of a boygroup is limiting him. he wants people to know him as kim sunoo, not just sunoo the enhypen member.

what can we expect for 2023?

oh. this is actually so nice? every "negative" card i got, so basically the ones representing isolation, emptiness, lack of resources or withdrawal, have been clarified by more positive ones. i actually think he might be able to break out of that loop he felt trapped in for a while, if he trusts himself more. both the ace of pentacles and ace of wands coming out is very promising. he'll definitely have opportunities to break out of his shell. it seems like there will be opportunities that are out of his comfort zone as well, but i don't see anything standing in the way of him doing well. he really wants to do more stuff on his own. the judgement card also telling me things will really go the way the universe wants them to. i think, sunoo will start feeling more and more align with his true purpose in this industry and will have the chance to use his strong ambition to realize some of his potential. but i have to say, aces are often just seeds that still haven't blossomed. so if sunoo doesn't get scared or overwhelmed, doesn't somehow lose grip of those chances, he'll definitely be able to make something great out of it, and get a step closer to the fulfillment he's so desperately seeking.

Four's Thoughts and Advice - 07.01.2025

Holy shit it's another year... Uhm, cool? Feels weird that I'm turning what, 17 this year? What the fuck? I don't think I even have a birthday, I just celebrate when I formed to be honest. All I know is my birthday used to be some time in summer, now it's in July (I like to say July 4th). It feels quite strange that I'm going to be an adult soon. Or maybe what happened to Lege will happen to me and I'll stop aging at a random point in time. He's 19 but says he hasn't aged in like... 3 years now? 4? So he's technically about 22/23 if he actually aged normally.

Anyway, hi, how are you guys doing? Have you been taking care of yourselves? I've admittedly not been too great over the past few months, but all is currently fine because Legend is making attempts to smother me to sleep like Sky does (he's failing kinda bad at it tbh, he hasn't got the pure muscle weight Sky does). It's been snowing lately over here so I want to eventually have the chance to mess around in it for a while. I know Wild did, bit jealous, but I don't envy him right now since he's looking after the baby of the system. I mean, he wants to and is clinging to her for dear life, but I'm not amazing with kids so I'd rather leave the experts to it.

I've been wanting to journal more for the system but I've become quite self-conscious about my handwriting, and generally the pains in the body's hands are not in the slightest pleasant. I used to journal literally anything and everything but recently, I just haven't had the energy to do it with everything going on in my head. I might do it anyway but to get back into journaling and help the system keep track of things that happen.

In our system, we have me and five other alters who come from similar sources. Those five other alters are Red, Blue, Green, Vio, and Shadow, who you've probably seen chatting around on here. Prior to Christmas 2024, I was always quite unnerved by being around them since those five are essentially a younger me (/us? I'm still figuring out if I have a subsystem) and I always was quite melancholic due to them being able to have their Shadow while I could not have mine. I didn't like fronting for a while because one of them would seemingly always be there and it made me upset.

Then when Christmas happened, a lot of people in our system gathered into front to celebrate and a lot of people who wouldn't usually talk or interact away from their own little isolated groups mingled with one another. And that day, Red started up a conversation with me, and despite knowing how my own Red is/was, I still couldn't resist talking to him because I don't want to see him upset. From there, me and those younger Colours have taken on a sort of brotherly friendship. I warmed up to them a lot over Christmas and I act like an older brother to them seeing as I'm unique in knowing their pasts and have experience with my own, older versions of them. I won't lie, seeing Shadow still makes me cry.

I still never get used to technology but I'm very tempted to watch Inside Out. Just a doodle about the artstyle crisis I had a bit ago with his hair. It didn’t last long and I ended up going right back to drawing it how I usually do anyway, but it was an interesting concept to try. Maybe I’ll try it out again someday cause it looks nice, but ehhhh I just didn’t end up enjoying drawing it very much tbh (TwT ).

To pair with the first image, I drew Simon in his cursed era with short shorts too hehe :3. I also started adding little dark vein patterns to the curse in this doodle :O. I think it’s giving cursed a lot more than just the bloody scratchy patterns I usually draw.

I like to think that maybe if Simon succumbed to the curse he’d end up a vampire. I mean, it’d track with vampire folklore surrounding the vampires’ curse. There’s a lot of stories where the vampire, even when dead or buried, can still long distance drain and inflict someone with illness and the end stage of it is death and coming back as a vampire or other spirit/ghoul. Aughhhh I had a much better rant about this written before the crash but I just can’t replicate it properly aaaaaaa curse you memory problems (;_; ). I’ll have to rant about vampire folklore in a separate dedicated post eventually, it’s fun :)

This one I am also so proud of X]. I think this is my best depiction of the effects of the curse yet tbh. I had an explanation of the traits I usually depict it having before the crash, so I’ll try to make another one. First things first, it drastically affects the healing process. Things just don’t close up properly or at all in most cases. Old scars tend to open back up a lot easier and this is in part because of the second major effect: rotting. Rotting is a very explanatory word when it comes to physical ailments, implying decay or necrosis! It usually starts at the extremities or around the edges of wounds with skin darkening, bleeding, and either a dryness or wetness, then spreads inwards and downwards or through the blood to other areas. Especially in extreme cases, which I think 6 whole years qualifies for 💀. Simon would probably have very fragile skin in the most affected areas and long story short his hands and feet are probably raw most of the time yikes, ouch, this poor guy :(. I imagine that he probably has some kind of Belmont specific regenerative and resistant ability that’s kept him from dying from it for so long, since they are kinda implied to be a little superhuman in some way. Which is probably a blessing and a curse in itself because on one hand it did allow him to live long enough to fix the problem, but on the other hand that had to absolutely suck (haha, Drac haha). I’ve explained other elements of it in another older post now that I think of it, so I might have to gather all this stuff together and make a more in depth post about it cause it’s really neat to talk about :3! I had like a huge special interest as a kid for injury and disease cause I started making ocs and ran into a bunch of “how to write realistic injury” posts and I’m glad for it cause it comes back any time I’m writing or drawing something that requires that knowledge. :)

Hey, glad to see you back. I absolutely loved your essay about Hermia, I also had always assumed that she had a weird placement within the Capp family. It's a shame, that they changed her, cause I loved her as Regan's daughter... (Also that Avril-esque outfit in her wardrobe kinda mirrors the Regan's one in color pattern. (I assume it's Hermia's since it suits her style better than Juliette's.)) So, what do you think about Miranda as in-game character? It seems like that she was intended to be a child/toddler, who's even younger than Hal and Desdemona, before they removed Tybalt as Goneril's eldest and placed her in that position instead. To me it felt like that in-game Miranda that we know was made of scraps of what Hermia supposed to be at first, down to her crush to Mercutio. Since Regan and Cornwall are not Hermia's parents anymore, she doesn't have to be a rebel then, so Miranda overtook that role instead. Also, thank you for your VV essays, this hood definetly deserves a better treatment! :))

Hi! It's good to be back! I'm glad you liked the essay, it's one I've been working and sitting on for years, but I only just found the right words to finish it.

Also, I added a read more to my response because this got long.

Tbh, I didn't really think much of Hermia's placement until I came across Cornwall's French biography in 2018. Until then, I thought her place as Juliette's sister was so she could better serve as a parallel to the nurse from Romeo & Juliet. Much like the nurse, Hermia is implied to be Juliette's confidante when it comes to the latter's relationship with Romeo. This is most obviously seen in the neighborhood album, where Juliette is gossiping about Romeo with Hermia, especially since Juliette's interaction is paused during the shushing animation. Beyond that, Juliette and Hermia are also best friends, which also mirrors just how close Juliet was to her nurse.

Once I was made aware of the leftovers, I realized that we could have had another Shakespeare reference, but alas. It definitely would have been fun to have Hermia as Regan's daughter, but I'm also fine with what we got. That said, it's mostly because it allows for a copious amount of headcanons that I can implement in my own narrative. I've already covered some of them in my playthroughs, but it has since gone much deeper than that.

I had completely forgotten about the Avril cosplay in Hermia's wardrobe, mostly because I've been using default replacements for years. If it's the outfit and recolor I think it is, I definitely see the connection.

As for Miranda, I can't say for sure whether she was intended to be younger than Hal and Desdemona. It's definitely possible, given Albany's memories, but both Consort (the first sim created for the neighborhood) and Goneril remember her being older than the two. As for the Tybalt initially being Goneril and Albany's eldest child, it's another possibility, but it makes me wonder about how Consort's memories list Miranda as being born first. If that was indeed the case during development, then it stands to reason that Tybalt's age bar might have altered following his relocation in the family tree.

When it comes to Miranda's crush on Mercutio, I don't think it was left over from Hermia's earlier role. Miranda having a crush on Mercutio largely echoes the Shakespeare iteration's romance arc in The Tempest. In that play, Miranda's love interest, Ferdinand, is the son of a man who assisted in usurping her father's throne. While not an exact match, I find that this parallels quite nicely with her crush on a member of the Monty family; furthermore, it allows the devs to somewhat replicate the AMSND love quadrangle in their game.

It's possible that the Miranda we know was made from scraps of who Hermia was meant to be. That said, I find that her final version lines up too well with Shakespeare for it to be mere coincidence. Much like Hermia in AMSND, Miranda's romance arc is not without pushback from her father, the only difference being that she doesn't know that Prospero doesn't actually oppose the match. Not to mention, her liking Mercutio, who likes Hermia, lines up very well with the aforementioned love quadrangle.
