um. tfw your life is about to change massively very very soon and it still doesn't even feel real yet and still feels like somethings gonna pop up and it won't actually happen and also you're scared as fuck that you're too stupid to actually do it and it'll all be for nothing

#like what do you mean full time salaried w benefits and paid vacation just to do. school.#what made you so enthusiastically think i was the perfect one to do this #when the last approx 20something other guys were like ummmm no you cannot do it #tbf like all that other shit up there aside #this did actually come at the perfect time #i look back on who i was during my masters and i legit do not recognize that person #i barely even remember it i have to look at pictures to think back on who i was #in a strange roundabout way being forced home to stay for a while #kind of re centered me and gave me time to come back to myself in a big way. i was really lost before #and chaining something like this directly after my masters would have been disasters #even like this time last year i did not have this level of mental clarity #and i think thats why i didn't get any of the other positions i was just in a fog and i think people could tell #so as much as like im super scared and nervous about this big change and big exit from my comfort zone #and a little sad and mournful that im leaving my family and wont hear my native language all day every day anymore #im the most ready ive ever been #2019 me was NOT ready im scared of her tbh!! idk what wave i was on but it was weirdo shit!#im also proud that i essentially rawdogged and brute forced a lot of introspection and improvement #entirely on my own #like i really can only just describe it as clarity i feel like i matured 10 years in 4 and cleared all the fog #i feel so good about the way i handle things and react to things now vs then #im like 500x more unbothered and actually know how to put myself first now #anyway uh this prob could have been its own post in and of itself #but woteva innit im proud of how much internal repairs i did on myself over the last few years #became a stable genius as it were #whos a lot more clearly defined and present #but fuck man! i am still scared of being 2stupid

dude i can’t remember the last time i ever was excited to have another rehearsal 😳 like wow i actually like being here? who knew pit orchestra would be my bread and butter? truly a miracle folks. hell yeah im doing more shows after this. im actually thriving for the first time this school year asdfghjkl

#tbf brightstar is bluegrass and im a rarity in that im a classical violinist that also plays fiddle #so this is a show where you kinda need someone who can read music and also play in the style #so idk how id feel about other shows bc ive only played in fiddler on the roof and carousel #and fiddler was more klezmer #and for carousel i played viola so both the fact that the show is mid and id never read alto clef in my life #it leaves a sour taste in my mouth when i remember #but regardless i like the high risk on the fly environment of pit orchestra #i feel way more engaged than i do in university orchestra #and im getting paid which definitely helps a lot lmao

while i have known for a while that this new job in the clinic would almost certainly take up time on my (up until now) free wednesdays, yesterday when they told me they still weren't sure when i'd be starting i thought that meant that i would probably still have tomorrow off. today was already stressful bc of an exam tonight and then i got an email right before seeing a client that they want me to start at 10am tomorrow (and work 8-5 weds going forward after) and i just. i hate change lol. i knew this was coming but not this soon and today when i was already stressed about other stuff... i'm just not having a great time rn

#i feel like i've been scrambling ever since i moved and i haven't been able to catch my breath yet #some of that is my own poor decisions tbf #but this was out of my control and feels frustrating #last minute changes and my brain do not mix well!!! i get so irrationally upset #anyway the exam went okay i think #i just had really looked forward to relaxing after the exam and now i need to get a lot more work done tonight #since i won't have the time tomorrow before it's due #at least i'll start getting paid soon #j.txt #also my activity feed really is fully unusable now #i tried scrolling down to get to where it was this morning and i scrolled for forever and couldn't get there #i don't regret the poll but i do wish i could cordon off responses lol #i wanna look at them sometimes not all the time and to the exclusion of everything else

Y'know, i bet you, with enough time and research, i could find a link between the past decade's (and maybe beforehand, i'd have to look into when it really took off) rise of hatred towards elves (manifesting especially as hitting elves with the racist-supremacy stick) in mainstream western fantasy spaces with the (continued) condemnation of femininity, or anything associated with women, especially when it buts up against ideas of masculinity (aka, masc as being 'not woman', rather than something that stands on its own).

Because it really feels like a socially-acceptable conduit to vent backlash (y'know, to challenged ideas of masc. to being told 'you're not special', especially with people having such a huge bug up their asses about "perfect" elves, aka 'feminine' figures who are 'better' than the more traditionally masc characters? that sorta thing). Like it's a manifestation of this timeframe's wave of backlash.

I'd really like to look in to that.

Yknow despite my absolute negative amount of interest in Wortox at this rate it's only a matter of time before I somehow start being mentally ill abt him too. If Wormwood and Willow got in my head then everyone else's days are numbered at this point </3

#rat rambles #to be clear; I have nothing against him hes just utterly uninteresting in concept to me #and Im not a huge fan of his kit either especially as a paid dlc character #I feel like hes the only one of the dlc characters who's weaknesses dont also add a new layer of nuance to their gameplay #wurt gets more benifit from veggies wormwood doesnt get damaged by foods and can use fertilizers and wanda has to manage her healing #intervals carefully but has basically infinite healing making fighting both more and less punishing #but when a guy's entire kit surrounds making you do repetitive labor only to punish you for using its rewards anyways it just feels unfun #like its not too bad if you have other players to help and he can do cool stuff with souls but only in very limited and simple copasities #one of my friends main him and I appreciate what he brings to the table but he also often complains abt how obnoxious he is to play #like idk its rly just the food weakness that gets to me because it feels like it takes away more than other aspects of his kit give #specifically it does in a boring and flat feeling way imo its very walter doesnt like clothes feeling 2 me #like the kinda thing where it just feels tacked on without much thought #tbf Im not a huge fan of wormwood's kit either so dont take this as me saying every other dlc character is perfect but yknow #at least wormwood has more than like 2 things he can do #sorry that this jusy turned into kit ranting I just have to long for justice for my dear friend so we can stop having every mod that we try #out to make things easier break our game within a session or two after it worked fine initially #also wendy likes him so I legally have to like him at least a little

#oc talk #i said before that shes EXTREMELY attention-seeking. this is a behavior that has been repeated since childhood #and as dumb as it sounds it all started because a stupid ass friend left her alone when she was going through teenager stuff #she was genuinely distressed and tried to talk to her parents about it but since they were so busy working they didnt really paid attention #and she; having a completely black and white mentality; assumed both her friend and parents hated her and started to get nasty #she secretly tried to get everyone else in school to stop talking to her ex friend (according to her); but she didnt succeed #and got even more angry. her anger; from assuming EVERYONE hated her even her own parents; got a point where she couldnt pay attention #all she wanted was 'revenge' from a supposed betrayal. and then this girl got a boyfriend. her last resource was to 'steal' her bf #get a girl who was popular in school + a hormonal teenager and what you get? the bf dumped her lol and then she dumped him a week later #she got her 'revenge' and it felt great!!! but now she was known as the bf stealer or smth and... tbf she didnt mind that much #she now had people's attention even if it was bad. everyone was talking about her and that was good enough.#however she didnt had many friends after that. and the ones she had were kind of manipulated into trusting her.#TIME PASSES and shes now a 23 y/o. her black and white mentality never went away and craves attention way more.#she recently moved to donnarose so technically no one knows about her 'troubling past' as a teen.#finnley and dalila were basically looking for a roomate that could do the house chores for them and in return they can live with them #their house is not that bad so she accepted and left the shitty apartment. and thats how they met! she lived with them for a while #she basically used sweet talk to make them trust her. but when she opened about her past they thought it was interesting lol #keep in mind they still had contact with chase. the guy they started to talk with bc they were curious about him even when hes... himself #so now she tries to keep ALL their attention to herself. she and chase never got to actually meet each other #except finnley mentioning her and 'their housewife lol' sometimes; but i imagine she didnt liked it when they talked about him #well i gotta go to sleep but i dont think the event on her teenhood was what caused it. she was always like that it just made her explode
