i just had a very hilarious idea

at the end of the WCI arc, when the Retrieval Squad are safe and heading towards Wano, Nami laments that she had somewhat hoped to get the chance to steal some money from Big Mom

and then Ichiji, the madlad, just untucks his shirt and lifts it up. what happens? sacks with Berry and jewelry falls down on the lawn deck

Ichiji casually reveals that that he, just hours before the Whole Cake Wedding Assasination, decided to sneak and raid so much treasure from his and Sanji's sire.

"child support." he simply says. "with interest, of course."

Nami, of course, get Berry sign in her eyes and just says "Ichiji...you know that you're my best friend, right?" and Ichiji just smiles, a real genuine smile for the first time since Dressrosa, and says "of course, Nami dearest. would you have the honor to keep these safely?"

but it's on one condition; Ichiji wants to keep a specific jewelry box that belonged to his and Sanji's mother Sora.

while Nami is busy counting the money, Sanji and Ichiji sits together and looks in their mother's jewelry box, remembering and admiring the beautiful necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets she used to own. there is also old photographs, hand-written notes and small bottles with perfume from the North Blue.

Sanji wanted Nami to have some, but she declined and said she didn't need it. Nami understood perfectly well that it was Ichiji and Sanji's late mother's things

none of them are sure what to do with the jewelry box and its' contents, but Ichiji simply stole it back because he didn't had the heart to leave it behind

I need to tell them. Those were the words occupying Robbie's mind throughout the afternoon with his parents. But why ruin a good day? Any parent would react badly hearing the news of their son quitting his career at a highly respected company. Robbie knew Leilani would react less severely, given her positive outlook on all situations, so when Bryce went to buy some food, he took the opportunity.

Having finally discussed the matter, Robbie felt an immediate sense of relief. "Oh come here, darling, you did the right thing quitting." It pained Leilani to hear her son struggling and concealing this information from her, "You must always prioritise yourself and that job wasn't doing you any good...I just want you to be happy and healthy Robbie." When Bryce returned, Robbie took a deep breath and said, "Dad, there's something you should know."

Bryce pressured Robbie to be successful without fully realising it. These were things such as comparing him to Renee, always asking about work research and setting high expectations given their shared love for biology and science. When Renee and Robbie secured good jobs, he boasted about them to friends and family, which undoubtedly unnerved Robbie anytime reality didn't meet expectations. Now that he quit his job, it was that fear of disappointment.

Faced with his dad, Robbie felt like he impulsively threw away his ambition, when he could've resolved the issues by dismissing them until things went away. Anger welled up in Bryce's eyes after the conversation and Robbie braced himself for the sighs and disapproval.

"Who are those co-workers Robbie??? I'm gonna teach those jerks a lesson cos no one messes with my son!" Bryce responded with an assertiveness in his voice, hinting he'd do anything to defend his family. As much as Robbie would've liked to see that, it wasn't the most sensible action. "T-Thanks Dad, but I've moved on from those events," Robbie admitted, still taken aback by his reaction. "I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better upbringing, I-I never meant to put that much pressure," Bryce explained after calming down, "I just want the best for you."

"Look, I'm proud of you. You don't have to reach the top of your career or earn the big wages-…hell you don't even have to prove anything to show me that. I'm already so proud of you every minute and every day, because you are my son."

the only reason that wash was able to make up for what he’d done is because he got lucky to live long enough that a bunch of people with little to no moral code didn’t care that he’d done bad things and adopted him anyway. he didn’t do anything to ~earn~ his redemption. he didn’t work hard to get the chance to become a better person. he was given it. holding south to the standard of wash wrt redemption is so dishonest because not only was she never given the chance to be redeemed, he is literally the reason she never got that chance! he cut her down in the middle of her arc! caboose looked at wash at his most vulnerable and least redeemable moment and decided to show him compassion and love. wash looked at south at her most vulnerable and least redeemable moment and killed her.

I think Kalim mentioned something about Jamil during the playful land event of how he used to hate the part about the cricket and went to pass it in wishing upon a start story so I think his phobia go to even hate to talk about bugs yet he for some reason seems to wear things that have beetles designs so maybe he is just used to it by now maybe he was uncomfortable wearing them at first

Harry Crosby put a lot of time and care into his work as a navigator. This is evident in Part 3 when he is adamant in his conversation with Douglass about getting the logs right and in Part 5 when Crosby had clearly been up all night working on and planning the mission to Bremen.

I can’t imagine how awful he must feel, the weight on his shoulders of feeling responsible for every plane that goes down. It’s not his fault, they’ll say, but their words don’t alleviate the burden he places on himself.

In his memoir, Crosby mentions going 75 hours straight without sleep during their planning for D-Day and I can almost guarantee that was not the first time he’d done such by that point. In fact, I’ll bet he threw himself even further into his work, neglecting his own needs without someone there to remind him to eat and sleep. There’s new faces everywhere he looks, fewer people to give a weak smile and a nod to as he passes by and therefore fewer reasons to leave his office.

Not a minute goes by where he doesn’t wish for a familiar face to burst through those doors and rescue him from himself. Until then he keeps working, unable to stop because in theory the sooner he gets back to work the sooner they could one day put an end to this godforsaken war and the sooner their men could come home. All he can do is hold onto hope that some of their men come home.

thinking about how the only reason sunny started reconnecting with the world and realising he deserves love is because kel never gave up on him. even though sunny isolated himself from everyone kel still called him and tried to reach out. and it’s so pivotal it’s literally the key choice that determines whether or not you get the good ending. the path to healing and contentment depends on whether or not you take the hand kel offers you. and sunny learns to forgive himself because he keeps making that choice. he opens the door for kel, and therefore chooses reconciliation and personal growth. it’s why he’s able to save basil in the end. because kel is strong and resilient and kind. because kel is lonely and has grieved in silence for years but still looks for sunny everywhere he goes. because they’re both invisible. because everything that sunny needs, kel has.
