Fellow TAZ Graduation/Steeplechase enjoyer came up with the iconic idea of a Steeplechase/Graduation crossover where they were actors on a layer kind of like Ephemera and of course I had to draw Argo as a regular dude and as well,,, Argo lmao.

Couldn't decide whether I wanted him fully blue so there's both, def want to do more of these soon 😍😍
I love how I managed to do his lil signature like that's how he'd sign it if he was a meet & greet sort of character hehe

If Dungeon Meshi did exist in The Adventure Zone universe then there is no fucking way Laios wouldn't try to eat the Light of Creation at least once

The reason why I think a crossover fic between The Adventure Zone: Balance and The Lord of The Rings would be so funny is because Taako and Merle literally reverse the common stereotypes that Elves and Dwarves have about each other in universe (especially in fandom and fic). Taako is the one who likes the shiny rocks and gems and will strive for them. It comes from his past in poverty but it’s there.
And Merle fucks plants.

Talking with my friend about how the ineffable husbands would be if they were in taz balance and this is a strong contender up there with chaotic ship mechanic Crowley and co-writer Azi working with Lucretia

There's something wrong with the planet.
I know, that sounds really dramatic. And probably exaggerated, knowing how much anxiety and paranoia is all but designed into my cheap fucking systems. It's not like I have much of a frame of reference, either: I only have linear memories of the last 160 hours of my life, barring the activation and maintenance between previous contracts. The rest is in bits and pieces, most of them ghosts of old feelings and reactions from my organic parts.
But that's how I know. There's a sense of wrongness in my organics, telling me things are different than how they should be -- how they used to be, at least. People keep bringing up the event from two months ago. I wasn't around for it, (or at least I don't remember it), but from my understanding, something fell from the sky, and now everyone's acting really weird.
They call it the Light of Creation, and yes, they capitalize it.
As far as I can tell, it isn't a power source, and nobody's considering selling it, but it's somehow helping with an important project. It's being held by the IPRE, the same entity that rented out my contract starting a week ago… for a two-month mission that's going to start ten months from now. They're paying for a year's worth of SecUnit for a mission a fraction of that time away.
I can't complain about that, exactly. Ten months of hanging around a bunch of boring researchers is a lot better than ten months of being a regular Murderbot, cycling between memory erasure and panic over the lives of various clients. It makes it easier not to get my brain painfully zapped by my governor module, too, when there are less crises. But it still feels highly unusual, and weird behavior is always going to make me uneasy.
"Let's run through this one more time," says Captain Davenport. Speaking of weird behavior.

Crossover where the IPRE visit the Ghost Trick world one cycle, and it turns out Light of Creation-irradiated timeloop bullshit is close enough to the Temsik meteorite-irradiated timeloop bullshit for the IPRE to all have cores, which drives Sissel absolutely bonkers trying to understand it because who the HELL is the ghost who could've possibly revived all SEVEN (7) of these people?!

I think Merle Highchurch and Senshi would get along great. I can imagine them lounging on a beach enjoying piña coladas together. Matching Hawaiian shirts and all. Lup, Taako, Falin, and Laios playing volleyball in the bg. Barry and Marcille nerding out on forbidden magic under the shade of big umbrellas. Magnus, Carrie, and Chilchuck talking about traps and disarming things (wait, what kind of dis-arming?). Lucretia and Kabru trading info on each other's worlds over tea, and Davenport is sailing a little blow-up boat with Izumi puffed up on it, desperate not to fall into the water. etc etc.

Undertale/TAZ:Balance AU where the Light falls into Mt Ebott. There's (seemingly) no settlements nearby, so the IPRE assumes this'll be an easy cycle - just climb down, grab the Light, climb out again, no big.
Except.
Yknow.
Obviously the monsters are gonna want the Light to get past the Barrier - if it's powerful enough to create The Hunger, it's definitely powerful enough to break the Barrier - but maybe doing so would use it in such a way that the Starblaster crew wouldn't be able to take it with them at the end of the year, meaning the monsters will no sooner escape the Underground than their world will be Devoured by the Evil Vore Cloud. So now the crew's gotta a) convince Monsterkind to hand the Light over, and b) find a way ot of the mountain so they can actually leave wih it at the end of the year.
The simplest solution is that the crew uses their Souls to break the Barrier - except, of course, only 3 of them are technically human, and they're not even from this world anyway. Would their souls even work? Even if Lucretia, Magnus, and Barry's souls count, if the others' don't (being two elves, a dwarf, and a gnome), that's still only 3/7. Maybe 4/7 if you set it when, like, Chara is alive. They'd still need at least 3 more.
Who knows how the IPRE's magic would work with the magic in Undertale, though? Maybe they'd be able to use their arcana to break the Barrier with no souls required. Or, hell, maybe Barry can do some necromancy bullshit and essentially jury rig 3-7 'souls' for them to use. Idk. But I had this idea earlier and couldn't stop thinking about it, so

I finally started The Fall of the House of Cabal
Some thoughts:
Meeting Leonie again was so exciting and then meeting Zarenyia again was even better
Zarenyia has big sapphic energy oh my god
I’m really glad I listened to the short story audiobook first, but I haven’t read Christmas at Maple Durham. I know a user here was saying it was on Patreon; I probably should have read that before we meet Leonie here, I didn’t realize she was in that short story.
