[Taako...] doesn't say anything scathing. The food says it all, and for once everyone else can hear it too. [...] Taako didn't want to ruin Candlenights, he didn't set out to do it, but sometimes Candlenights is just ruined and that's how it is. Sometimes your heart feels like thirty cloves of raw garlic and the only thing you can do is cook it up and serve it. Sometimes the food is the only thing that says anything for the whole meal.

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

I don't knoooooowww. I don't know what makes a headcanon "wild" tbh. I don't really do crack headcanons, I engage with fandom mostly as what amounts to creative and incredibly affectionate media analysis. I'll just say an unpopular one, I guess. I think Eddie Kaspbrak from IT is like a Kinsey 4 (not gay) and also doesn't use a label.

A lot of these are headcanons but since I kin Taako they might as well be canon to me :)

What other fears do they have? In a general sense, Taako is afraid of not being good enough. Not making good enough food, not being strong enough to protect his loved ones, not being able to do what needs to be done, etc.

Why do they have these fears? Are these fears innate, trauma-based, or generational? A lot of these fears were established during his childhood, especially his fears about being alone/abandoned/forgotten. Since he always had Lup around (until after the Stolen Century) he never had a chance to be alone with his thoughts, and that was how he liked it. Being alone meant being unsafe. Lup was his only safe space until he met the rest of the IPRE and expanded his family.

Have they ever tried to work through or confront these fears? How did it go? Taako was sorta forced to work through his more silly fears (snakes, clowns) at a young age, but his fear of emotional intimacy is seen throughout most of his life post-Stolen Century. He's very open about his emotions when he's around his sister, but he's pretty closed off to everyone else. This is especially true after he forgets Lup and just becomes closed off entirely and doesn't show any emotional attachment to Tres Horny Boys until during the Suffering Game when he astral projects to save Magnus. That's the closest he gets to showing that he genuinely cares about someone. After remembering the Stolen Century, he finally allows himself to show that he can experience emotions other than aloofness and rage. He shows sorrow, he shows regret, he shows fear.

Davenport is aro. Deleting his mission wiped out his entire personality, he clearly did not have much of a personal life.

My favorite Lucretia fic has her as aro ace, but while I often bestow aspec hcs as a sign of favor and enjoy Lucretia a lot, I'm also aware of the tendency of media to desexualize older Black women and put them in peripheral caretaker roles so it's not something I've leaned into. Basically if she wanted to be on my team I would be delighted to have her but I also enjoy the takes that she had a thing with Maureen and is Lucas Miller's fantasy stepmom because a) that's funny and b) that's also tragic since it's another family the relics and the light took away from her.

Obviously Fitzroy is canon ace. Really appreciated when that lore dropped and everyone started drawing him wearing a lot of purple.

5) What’s their sleeping schedule?

so i feel like Barry is probably one of those people who try to keep a decent sleep schedule because he *knows* his limits and he *knows* that once you lose some hours of sleep, you don't just get them back. I feel like normally in bed by midnight at the latest, up by seven am.

HOWEVER, I think sometimes when Barry's busy trying to crack the secrets of the universe, the insomnia he had for a few semesters of college rears its ugly head and he's incapable of going to bed by his own choice. (there's a small addition to the mostly ignored Starblaster chore chart for this - "Physically make Barry go to bed" and only Dav and Lup are ever really successful in this)

12) Something small that they enjoy?

mmm I think just in general the smell of campfires and the first cold day of winter. The one that makes your nose go a little pink and the one that makes hot cocoa taste that much better. and waking up early only to realize that he actually has like three more hours to sleep

15) Biggest pet peeve?

since it says pet peeve, i'm going to go with some insignificant annoyances and all that. I think Barry hates having his schedule thrown off. Like, not a sleep schedule or anything but if he says he wants to be somewhere at a certain time and he doesn't get to start going to that place with ample time, he gets super antsy about it. Punctuality is very important to Barry.

29) Any past injuries?

Not really any injuries pre stolen century, though I do think he got real sick as a kid for a while. He got better, obviously, but I think he lost a good chunk of time just...being stuck in his room. All that spare time gave him the chance to become enamored with the very fine mechanics of the planarverse and the idea of traveling between planes. But he still can't shake the feeling that his trajectory may have been completely different if he didn't have to just. Stop for almost a whole year. I think the few friends he did have at that time just kinda drifted from him? And it wasn't malicious, they were all kids and it was scary. Barry was sick and he wasn't getting better for a while. Heavy shit to deal with.

Also like, that helped strengthen his relationship with his mom. I genuinely think that Barry's best friend for a lot of his life was Marlena (when she was alive, at least).
