hi bitches! Back in April, I left a full-time job that was awful for my mental health (retail hell), and then the next month I started the process of moving out of my emotionally abusive mom's house. Now, I can't find my W-2 form from that job (I'm not 100% sure if they sent it before I moved out, but it's getting closer and closer to Taxes Due time and I really hope they didn't send it to my mom at the end of the year). What do I do? Is there a way to go online and say "hey I need you to send me this form and I need you to send it to a different address than the one you have on file"?

my darling little quip about not being able to file my taxes was real actually lmfao.
#i filed w the irs's fillable forms a while back and just did my federal#and i can't log in to any state forms sites for unknown reasons#i tried to file through turbo tax but then they submitted my federal a second time#so it got rejected bc it looks like i double filed and i waited an hour to talk to a representative and she was like#yeah there's no way to file just your state taxes. you have to print them and mail them and you can't until they reject again#bc i tried to deselect the federal one and it went through anyway#and i can't e-file an extension request because nothing is letting me gksjklfsj#which it looks like i'm getting a return so it doesn't Really matter but like. hello. hello. hello#i can't wait to move states i actually have come to sort of hate this little place <3#and this is not helping slkfjlsjgklsjg#oisin.txt#oisin.n

Quick reminder to everyone that filing your taxes with an online service in the USA is FREE if you make under $79000.
You have to go through the link above because the tax companies do want to scam you and they have ads for "free" things that aren't actually free. The IRS also has their own thing now, but I haven't tried it.
(Also, free if you use paper forms but if you're on Tumblr and you know how to use paper forms this message is probably not for you.)
(If you are one of those people who makes more than that number and want to use an online service, you probably have a credit card - see if your credit company is offering any cash back/perks for certain tax companies.)
