So often when a character is the “comic relief”, they start off with dynamic personalities and then lose them as the season go on (looking at you Cat Valentine and Steve Palchuk), but not Soren

No, Soren somehow manages to jump between being comic relief and genuinely serious and caring seamlessly. And it’s all the same character, too! He doesn’t feel like he’s switching personalities they’re just other facets of who he is and it’s amazing!!!

Bruce originally planned to take only Damian to America, just to scope the town that had been rumored to be holding the main factory for a new toxic chemical. However, his kids decided that they wanted to venture with them, and soon they all landed in a [random] southern state.

and. it’s a huge culture shock. because let’s be honest, the bats are not ready for the south. the bats are not ready for the north. they are not ready for the east. they are not ready for the west.

Immediately, the people were nicer, way nicer. This wasn’t surprising, as they came from GOTHAM. which yes, is known to be the most dangerous city, and that reputation led to lots of mean people.

(In reality, Gothamites were actually really chill with each other, the only reason being that nobody wanted to create another villain of the week)

But these people? They casually greeted others, even strangers like Bruce. A random teen would come up to Dick and compliment his outfit, a grandma would come up to Jason and ask for his help (which did not make him tear up, shut the fuck up Tim.)

A kid would accidentally bump into Bruce, only to instantly apologize profusely and be called back from his mom. Group of teen girls came up to Steph and Cass to ask them where they got their clothes from, only to talk for more than two hours at the mall the batfam were visiting.

Multiple more interactions happen, but i’m too tired to write them.

The biggest difference they experienced?

The high schools.

DEATH AND TAX EVASION WAS SUCH A GOOD ES FOR SAM....... I got so invested in heckin Christian Rat Church so heres a bunch of church rats............... more specifics notes under the cut:

the rat church is dealing with a schism, so early on there's a chance to break up a fight and THIS IS JUST A RLY FUNNY MENTAL IMAGE TO ME.... SAM JUST GOES IN THERE AND STARTS PICKING UP RATS

A thing that's come up a few times in chats and rp with friends is that in order to not constantly feel crazy when verses he knows by heart change slightly in every edition, Samuel's kept his own Bible from the surface to refer to. With the rats specifically taking issue with St. Cyriac's edits, I really want to believe Sam got a moment to share older versions of these verses with the Layrat, before all the verses on death were changed to exclude rats....

IF YOU'RE CONNECTED TO FINGERKINGS then in Cheese Heaven the fingerkings specifically notice you're not a rat and only rats are supposed to be there -- instead of helping you leave, they just politely warn you that you'd better escape soon or else they'll have to turn you into a rat. ALSO I HAVENT STOPPED THINKING ABT BEING ABLE TO HEAR THE LAYRAT PRAYING FOR YOU. I compared this ES early on to another ES I played a while back, All The Saints, where the Intrepid Deacon is sort of looking to you during a crisis of faith, and Sam worked hard to keep him un-tempted. But... for this one, Samuel was less sure, and uncertainly encouraged the Layrat to be willing to question what he grew up with, and to follow his heart on these strange new ratty religious ideas. But... this little rat was the one to keep faith and help him when Sam nearly forgot himself... I DONT KNOW MAN. IVE GOT EMOTIONS ABT RAT FAITH.

the company i work for decided that its switching from the german formal "You"(Sie) to the informal "you" (Du) in all of our websites so now we have to scour the entire database to change it and i quite frankly hate that, not just bc the unecessary extra work but especially bc its such a weird and unecessary change

i bet its bc everything here is getting englishfied (both literally and culturally it feels like, when my new boss talks its half in english bc every second german word is just replaced by an english one despite there being perfectly fine words for it in german too, its so annoying) and bc they want to sound more personal in hopes of getting more clients bc 'company is your fwiend uwu!!', i know this here is the amercian tm site so you wouldnt understand really but i do not want to be greeted with 'du' by companies, no, thats too personal, you dont know me and im not giving you my data, stay away!!

i guess thats how i would describe it .. the formal you is like a polite distance, like someone you dont know staying outside your personal space, but when its the informal 'you' it feels invasive unless i told you you can call me that, and that goes double for companies

maybe its a small thing that doesnt seem important but i cant stand it, im just a little part time worker doing data work so i got no say in it but the companies founder also announced hes giving his post to his kids some time ago so ...... since then theres been alot of changes and new projects that solely aim to imitate whats popular and whats done by other companies, despite ours being one that is, or used to be, intentionally different, like, that was the POINT, but i guess chasing trends is just too appealing for CEOs
