Malcabel WIP I guess
(They’re all horribly out of character in this, but I want them to be happy, god dam it! And I almost certainly misspelled Tavy’s name, but that’s just dyslexia for you. @lescahiersdesable)
It was all Catarina Loss’s fault really.
“Honestly, Malcolm,” the sky blue warlock had told Annabel’s husband when he’d called her positively panicking about being in charge of her (many times removed) nieces and nephews for a day, “why don’t you and Annabel just take the kids to the beach?”
Trusting his friend’s judgment more than his own had been a rather terrible idea, Annabel thought amusingly as she watched the blond warlock race down the shoreline, waving his arms like a mad man, shouting that under no circumstances were the children to poke at that beached jellyfish with a stick, yes, Tiberius, even if it was already dead.
After some whining (the children) and some poorly concealed begging (Malcom), the Blackthorn kids dispersed into the water and across the sand.
Malcolm trudged back up the beach, and stood at the edge of the shade thrown by the umbrella stabbed into the ground.
Annabel looked up from her drawing pad, her black brows furrowing in irritation at the shadow her husband had abruptly cast over her sketchbook. “You’re blocking my light.”
His pale skin flushed a delicious raspberry red as he stammered out an “Oh, right, sorry” and moved to sit beside her on the blanket, smiling sheepishly. After a moment of comfortable silence, Malcolm absentmindedly ran his hand down her arm, stopping only to trace the black lines, curves, and whorls of her Runes. His touch was soft and light as a feather. “What are you drawing?”
  “You obviously.”
“Obviously.” A pastel sketch of Malcolm in his striped bathing suit, looking tall and thin and almost frail, with softness to his frame and features that matched his disposition. A feint, salmon-pink sunburn on was his face and shoulders, and his lips were cracked (Annabel would solve that one way or another, either by the gifting him the tube of chapstick she’d squirreled away in her purse or by kissing him until he couldn’t breathe).
“The kids.” Ty and Livvy and some golden-haired Mundane boy that Annabel didn’t know chasing a seagull. Mark and Helen teaching Tavy how to build a sandcastle. Dru, Julian, and a different golden-haired child that Annabel didn’t know, this one a Shadowhunter girl with a spill of bright curls and a practice training sword, diving into the ocean and swimming around in the shallows.
“Church.” The fat, blue feline crouched down in the dunes, fluffy tail held erect, eyes focused on a mouse in front of him, mere seconds away from a pounce that Annabel knew would end in failure.
“The L.A. Institute.” An imposing building that Annabel didn’t think could ever have the ability to look homely.
“Home.” A snapshot of their living room, a Polaroid pinned with a paper-clip for reference, Malcolm’s latest draft of the Codex — her illustrations not yet accompanying his neat, meticulous writing — spilling off the end table onto the soft, red couch, one of Annabel’s favorite mugs (which would always be filled with tea, Annabel and Malcolm both hating the taste of coffee) filled with paint-streaked paint brushes and colored pencils.
“And my first love, the sea.” Cerulean and cobalt-blue waves crashing to the shore.
“Should I be jealous?” Malcolm had moved from her arm to her hand, gently interlacing their fingers together.
  “Oh, immensely. Definitely.”

Heir To The Lands Chapter 48
Masterpost Unfortunately, This Calls For A Meeting
The entire Herongraystairs household, as some would call the family and the other teenagers they housed under the roof, fell in chaos as Ty suddenly fell down the stairs in the middle of his conversation with Kit. Kit himself, was checking his pulse after he made sure his boyfriend's head wasn't bleeding or anything. He was breathing harshly, but it was nothing compared to the erratic breathing he heard from above him. Thais was urging Dru to calm down, slowly pulling her to the floor as she tried to control her friend's breathing. He felt someone sit next to him and looked up to see Tessa. "Let's get him to bed," she said firmly and Tomas helped him pick up Ty and carry him to Ty's guest room. Kit was especially grateful for the tall, buff boy treating Ty with such tenderness and making sure they didn't bump Ty into anything. Tessa was quickly next to the both of them and immediately started to check up after him. Kit's heart was racing as Anush rushed into the room. "I think it's Livvy related," came his statement as he held up the ghost sensor that he and Ty had worked on. It was glowing an ominous dark purple, something none of them had seen before and from the look on Anush's face; it was clearly something the sensor wasn't build to do either. Kit felt as if he could faint and he decided to leave for his room because he felt like he was going to panic himself. It was just a chance of luck, that Kit could spot Livvy's unconscious ghost on the ground, the ghost of another boy was weakly shaking her, not looking very energetic himself. Kit went for it and bolted outside. Ghosts cannot faint. What was going on? Since when was there a male ghost stalking their premises?! Just what kind of ghostly shennanigans did Livvy undertake? He just hoped he wasn't going to have to explain Livvy's mess to Julian. Julian would certainly murder him if he even suspected Kit was to blame in the slightest. Not that he was, Kit knew instinctively that this boy was the one to blame. Or was involved so he could still dump the blame on the boy. He finally reached the decided culprit and exclaimed, "What on earth have you done to Livvy?!" The dark haired boy looked up and took him in with confused eyes. "You can see me?" Kit nodded, "Now answer the question, or I'll find a way to drag you out of your grave so I can put you back in it myself." The boy raised his hands, as if he wanted to surrender himself and Livvy's ghostly body slumped awkwardly back onto the ground. "I didn't do anything to her! It happened when we got back from Idris. Something weird simply came over us, like we were being poisoned from beyond the realms of death itself!" Kit sighed and decided to rub his temples. "And who are you? I'm not too familiar with Shadowhunters my age." The boy suddenly looked sad, as if he didn't liked the direction of the conversation. "I'm Tavi's cousin, Jeroen." Kit just shook his head, already feeling in his gut a sob story was coming up that would result into a second girl having a panic attack today. "You better try to drag Livvy's body inside. I think we're going to have a long conversation. I'd help you but fortunately for me, I am not a ghost."
In the meantime, the people at New York were drowning. First there was the weird thievery incident and there was still no traces of the thief. Then there was dealing with the fearmongering of the Princes in Faerie and now Mark Blackthorn was blowing up his phone with many texts that still had a twinge of Fey speech. Just looking at his flowery messages made Alec want to grab a drink because he felt way too sober to comprehend what was said. "Magnus, I need a drink if I want to understand what Mark is saying." "Let me take a look at it." Magnus said, grabbing the phone and Alec's husband instantly paled. "I think he's trying to convey that our problem just got worse."

Why everyone sleeps on Dad Jesse Blackthorn? In many ways, Jesse raised his little sister all by himself just like Julian has done with his little siblings. He read books to her, trained her, he was there for her while she was growing up. He was the sole source of comfort and parental love for that 10 year old girl with no memory of her family, stuck in a creepy manor with a old hag who groomed her to seduce another child.
Julian deserves praise because he was "the dad" his siblings knew but so does Jesse.

Ty it's more the way he's written what bother me but this is the big topic about the autistic representation and i won't begin this conversation today 😅
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite
Jace i love jace (and everyone in the tmi gang) but sometimes he's a little exasperating 😅 also the fact he's happy in TDA give me hope for my own life 😄
who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite (at large like in my 20 favorites 😅😂)

who? | only know their name | loathe | ugh | overrated | indifferent | dead | alive | just okay | cute | badass | my baby | hot | want to marry | favorite

☆ TB.

Queen of air and darkness by cassandra Clare
I'm exactly in the middle of the book. The number of times I cried my eyes out went up to six. I'm going to sleep with fluffy red eyes again...
When you start the book be ready emotionally otherwise you'll end up like me. Crying myself to sleep every single night.

Can we talk about that time Julian Blackthorn brought church the cat to class and when church bit him he yelled because he was "so excited to learn!"? Because if that isn't the purest thing idk what is

LORD OF SHADOWS by CASSANDRA CLARE **Review**
Alright peeps, I’m back. If you’re wondering why my blog has been so dead this summer it is because I was in a technological dead zone for the majority, only being able to connect to wifi once a week if I was luck, I do like to live on the edge ;). But I did have time to read this gem, and even though I’m late on the train per usual, I will still voice my thoughts!
To start things off, I would give Lord of Shadows an 8.5 out of 10. I was very pleased with this book and the ending left me screaming (with both rage and sadness). To be completely honest, I still haven’t stopped thinking about this book and wondering HOW IS EVERYTHING GOING TO GET RESOLVED WITH ONLY ONE BOOK LEFT IN THE SERIES!! THERE ARE SO MANY LOOSE ENDS! I CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE HOW LONG THE NEXT INSTALLMENT IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE!!!
I can be calm, I swear! This book had a delightful dark undertone, with thought provoking themes and situations that boggle the mind. The plot is a series of unexpected twists and the determination of a family to stay together no matter the cost. The book brings into play the question of, “how far would you be willing to go for the ones you love?” And, “how far is too far?” And, “does it even make a difference?”
The characters were extremely well fleshed out, well plotted and three dimensional. The world of Shadowhunters was brought even more starkly to life and the situations these characters were thrust into was both heartbreaking and frustrating to the point of actual critical thought.
Ok, spoiler time. If you haven’t read the book, turn back now! DO NOT READ THIS PART IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK!!! I’M WARNING YOU! YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A GREAT BOOK IF YOU ONLY GLEAN YOUR INFORMATION FROM HERE!! The Blackthorns are back in the middle of a terrible situation, Julian and Emma especially as they struggle to at first put aside their feelings for each other and then, when that doesn’t work, hide their feelings from each other. Lets just say, Shadow hunters are notoriously bad at communication. Anyways, Emma knows that parabati who love each other grow to be too powerful, leading to the death and destruction of those around them whom they love. That is real dumb, I hate it, I keep hoping there is a way around it, but each option seems worse than the one before. So then, all these centurions show up at the L.A. Institute and since they are special and elite, they think they just own the place! Christina finds out that perfect Diego is actually engaged to Zara, another centurion who is the legit worst! We find out later that she is part of a rising group within the shadow hunter ranks called the cohort, who want to register downworlders and limit their general lives. Thats right, the cohort are shadow hunter Nazi’s, which lovely little Kit points quite frequently. I really appreciated Kit’s presence in this book, because he gave us an outsider view of shadow hunters, always baffled by their refusal to use “mundane” medicine and anything else that could be actually pretty useful. Anyways, he buddies up with the twins, Ty and Livvy, who take him under their wing in a sense. About mid way through, after attacks by squid demons, we find out that Malcolm is in fact, not dead (big surprise) and he still needs Blackthorn blood. The kids end up escaping to London. Meanwhile, Mark was tasked with the job of rescuing Kieran and Julian, Emma, and Christina followed him into Farie. They end up accomplishing this task and then meeting the seelie queen who promises aide to the shadow hunters in a war against the unseelie king in exchange for the black book, and she also tells Julian of a way she knows to break the Parabati bond. They all end up back in London, the unseelie king sends the riders of Manon after them all, Emma kills one. Annabelle shows up when Emma and Julian go to hunt her, Magnus Bane gathers everyone back together. Annabelle shows up again, agrees to testify to the Clave. Magnus passes out right before the meeting, Annabelle goes crazy with the mortal sword in the middle of testifying, Robert Lightwood dies and LIVVY! LIVVY IS STABBED WITH THE MORTAL SWORD!!!!!!! (RIP MY HEART!)
So, that’s the basic overview of what exactly is going down in this book and I actually skipped a few things because I want to get down to the analyzation of what exactly I think is going on here.
“He forced the thought back. He could hear Emma’s voice, a whisper in the back of his mind. A warning. But Emma was good in her heart: honest, straightforward, a terrible liar. She didn’t understand the brutality of need. The absoluteness of whet he would do for his family. There was no end to it’s depth and breadth. It was total” (Clare, 654).
This is one of many quotes that delves into Julian’s mental justification of his actions throughout the book, whether good or bad. Anytime Julian lies, plots, manipulates, and terrorizes in the name of his family he always comes back to the question of, “how far will I go?”. And every time, he comes back to the conclusion that there is literally nothing he will not do to protect and defend his family, there is no low he will not sink to. The problem is that this blurs when it comes to things that he wants/desires as well, namely, Emma. Protecting your family is a good and honorable cause, yet destroying every parabati bond ever made simply because you made the mistake of being parabati with the person you are in love with is really overboard. The parabati rely on each others power in battle and even for life saving healing. To take that away would be devastating and tragic, and yet Julian considers it. Emma seems to be his only voice of reason at the moment, his only impulse control, that why I was actually expecting her to die in this book. Take away Emma and Julian becomes a villain, Malcolm 2.0. His motives are constantly marred, he is often referred to as “ruthless” and even admits that Emma is the only one who is truly holding him back from the edge.
I predicted in Lady Midnight that Julian would become a villain, and I am still sticking to that. His and Emma’s only hope of getting their curse problem fixed was through Robert Lightwood, he seemed understanding and willing to work with them. He’s dead now and I’m assuming the next counsel is going to be terrible. Therefore, Julian and Emma are going to continue to try to fix things on their own, until things really get out of control.
Also, something is up with Cortana, I think Emma is getting power from more than just the wacked up parabati bond and the fact that Cortana broke the mortal sword means there is going to be trouble in the next book for her. We’ll see what happens.
Predictions? Livvy’s not dead (PLEASE!!), Emma dies, Julian turns evil. I will go into more detailed predictions later, probably closer to the release of the third book after more research, but this is what I am sticking with now. I will also go into some further analyzation when I have my brains more together, the ending of this book really worked a number on me!!
If you can’t tell, I really liked this book!! It was great! Chat with me if you have any comments, I definitely did not cover everything and love talking about books! :D
Stay curious my friends! Never stop reading!!

Heir To The Lands Chapter 41
The Beating Hearts of Two Sisters Masterpost Livvy stared at the ghost in front of her. He was a boy with wavy black hair and blue-grey eyes, perhaps a year or two older then she was and he looked around just as confused as Livvy was. Vaguely, she remembered Magnus saying something about how the spell tying her and Ty could potentially work as a beacon for other ghosts too. Did she call the boy forth? The boy suddenly stopped all his ghostly movements and his eyes were glued to the dinner table as his legs seemed to shake. "What's wrong? Who are you?" Livvy asked as she studied the suddenly distressed ghost. "I'm…I'm Jeroen Boomkikker." He croaked out, and Livvy could see what he was looking at. Tavi, who was having an animated conversation Tomas and Ty. And Livvy could see it then, how vaguely similar they looked. "You're her family, aren't you?" She asked sympathetically. "She's my older cousin. I haven't seen her since my parents decided to stay in Idris. I didn't had the guts to follow her back then. I hadn't wanted to impose myself on the Grünlichts, me and Tomas never were that close. And my parents," he said, choking and wasn't able to finish his sentence. Though Livvy could understand what he had wanted to say, that he loved his parents. The heartbreak on the boy's face was evident enough. "It's okay, Yuh…Rune." Livvy tried out, not knowing a lot of names from Northern or Eastern Europe. It made the boy chuckle between his tears. "8 points. Trill the 'R' a bit more and you're there. You have my compliments, most American Shadowhunters just decide to call me Jerome instead." "Really? That's so rude." Livvy said, her nose crinkling. "What's your name?" Jeroen asked. "Livia Blackthorn." She replied and he nodded with a little more energy. "I remember you, you're the girl who was murdered along Inquisitor Lightwood. Sorry, by the way." "It's fine. It seems we're in the same boat after all. Who killed you?" Jeroen swallowed. "Jessica Beausejours. You probably know that all our access to food outside of Idris was blocked and that a lot of Shadowhunters were struck by a famine. Zara called for a crisis meeting, and things got out of hand. Vanessa Ashdown murdered an older Cohort member and my uncle Antonius, Tavi's father. Out of rage I lunged myself at her but just after I delivered the final blow, Jessica took me by surprise and slit my throat." Livvy nodded, recognizing both names bitterly. In a dark part of her soul, she couldn't help but feel a little happy Vanessa was dead. "Further, I don't know what happened. I don't know if my parents or my little sister survived." Jeroen balled his fists, and Livvy honestly felt sorry for him. "If you want, I can take you back to Idris with me. I think it would be important for us to know what's happened to the Cohort now." "Thank you. If I can request one more thing, just don't tell anyone that can see a ghost who I am. It would be wiser to tell Tavi what happened after we know who's still alive. If Ellie died too, then it would be better to deliver the blow once then have her waiting for the news in agony." Jeroen said, his eyes still glued to his cousin. Livvy, knowing from experience with Ty how bad it might be, nodded in agreement. "We'll be leavving tomorrow, then."
The next day, Livvy had announced to the group she was leaving, with Ty and Kit looking extremely suspicious of it but they both kept their mouths shut. It made Dru a little paranoid, and so she had offered to do the grocery shopping for Tessa and Jem. She honestly was kind of excited to shop in England and discover some of the local sights along the way. The old world definitely had its charm with the rich history steeped everywhere. It was so different compared to New York and L.A that it left Dru awestruck like a child. She walked on the path leading to the city, looking at the daisies and dandelions growing along the way, when she heard the birds chirp a sudden tune. Dru picked up on the sound of the beating of large wings before she saw Ash Morgenstern landing just in front of her and she dropped the shopping bag on the ground.

@the-punctual-devotee and I came up with this
@cassandraclare for the amazing world of shadowhunters
Imagine a club for Shadowhunters to learn about mundane culture.
It would be called C.A.T.S: Culture Assistance to Shadowhunters
Simon would of started it with Izzy, because Izzy really wanted to understand all of Simon’s references. And then Clary would of made her and Jace join, because she was tired of Jace not understanding when she said “Impressive. Most Impressive,” and that she really wasn’t making this stuff up. Then, Kit would’ve heard about it. Now, he grew up in the shadow world, but Johnny, with all his faults, made sure his kid new mundane culture. Kit would then make Ty and Dru join with him, and suddenly, all the Blackthorns were there. Add Magnus, Alec, Jem, and Tessa, and now there was an official club. And after (not so) much debate, Simon would be declared the President.
For what it’s worth, the club benefit all the members. All the new individuals just now experiencing mundane culture love it, and all the ones who already did get to watch their loved ones love it.
Alec loves Sound of Music. Every once in a while, Magnus can catch him humming “The Hills are Alive”, or hear him singing “Edelweiss” to Max and Rafe. Jace found a new attachment to Danny Ocean from Ocean’s 11, and quotes it non-stop. Izzy and Simon share a love for Star Wars, and Emma and Ty have a fondness to Marvel. Emma’s favorite is Iron Man 2, and Ty loves Guardians of the Galaxy, especially Drax. He loves that Drax doesn’t always understand , just like how Ty didn’t always understand. Julian finds inspiration from Little Women, and, however much he denies it, Marks favorite is Moulin Rouge.
Christina and Kieran are amused by stop motion films, and love Fantastic Mr Fox. Diana finds enjoyment in the lovable nature of Good Will Hunting, and watches it every time she can. Tessa loves the childlike, crazy character Lou from Me Before You, and Jem is always reminded of his best friend and brother when he watches A River Runs Through It.
They meet once a month, sometimes at the L.A. or New York Institute, and sometimes in Magnus and Alec’s loft. Tavvy, Max, and Rafe stay with Lily while their guardians have fun, but every once in a while, there is a kid night.
@the-finest-genius for half of the ideas

LOS SPOILERS
Because Kit can see ghost that stayed on earth (like Jessamine in the London institute) does that mean he might see Livy if she stayed to look over her brothers and sisters (mostly Ty) and would she be following them or staying in the Los Angeles institute?
