RWS Tarot Deck Notes and Reference Notion Template
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My downtime at work project is finally complete! This template has sorted and labeled images of the RWS Tarot Deck and all relevant text from the A E Waite Pictorial Key* in one place. I was tired of having to flip to so many different sections of the damn PDF, so each card's page has all relevant info from that book, plus the picture. Use it to track your readings or as an easy reference guide. I've also included the images from the Marseille deck as well. Feel free to just bookmark that page, or go ahead and duplicate it in Notion and make it your own.
*This is not an invitation for critique of my practice, or the cards I use, or the books I read. I do not take the Pictorial Key as gospel, but I've had it for many many years and I like it as a starting point. If you'd like different text in there then make a copy of it and do it yourself. If you're going to send me a nasty ass message about that, don't.

• 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝟏𝟎𝟏 •
When we think about deity or spiritual communication, many people's first thought is tarot. And while there are a plethora of ways to communicate with entities without it, tarot remains one of the most popular.
This guide will be separated into 3 core sections; The makeup of tarot decks, the meanings of the suits, and how to read the cards. This will be long but I'll try to break everything down as digestible as possible.
Tumblr media
𝟎𝟏. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐬
𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭?
Tarot is well known as a great starting point for entity communication, and easily accessible. There are millions of different styles of decks, but throughout all of them the meanings stay essentially the same. This means you can essentially use the same guidebook/guide for almost every deck. Some decks do have specialized cards that they add to their major arcana, or some will rename suits (the suit of pentacles may be called the suit of coins or the air of cups may be called chalices, etc). But for the most part, things are fairly similar.
Tumblr media
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐥'𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲
A tarot deck will typically have 78 cards, with 2 types. The Major Arcana, and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana is made up of 22 cards, numbered 0-21 starting with The Fool. These 22 cards can be considered the most important cards in the deck, even if they're not drawn during your readings.
The cards detail a story, aptly named The Fool's Journey, which paints the picture of a fool (0) on a journey enduring trials and life lessons until he rejoins The World (21) with newfound knowledge and understanding of themself.
The Fool's Journey represents us, the holders, and our journey through life and drawing a Major card during readings are typically important and indicative of a pivotal moment in the reading. Readings can actually be conducted entirely with just the Major Arcana because of how significant they are.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐚
The Minor Arcana make up the bulk of a tarot deck, with 56 cards divided into 4 suits. Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentacles. Despite the suit names, each suit is made up of 14 named cards. 1-10, the page, the knight, the king, and the queen. This is the standard for each suit.
If the Major Arcana is the Fool's journey, then the Minor Arcana are the details of that journey. Each suit represents a different aspect of a person's life. It can also be representative of the 4 core elements, involve numerology, and align with astrology, however for this guide we'll stick with the meanings of the cards themselves and how to read them.
Tumblr media
𝟎𝟐. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
I won't go over the meanings of all 78 cards simply because this post would be egregiously long, however I will go over the meanings of the Minor Arcana suits.
☆ Pentacles Sensation and the Material
This suit deals with the material world, both internally and externally. This includes finances, stability, and health.
☆ Swords Thinking and Truth
This suit deals with logic and ambition, as well as shedding light on situations for conflict and communication.
☆ Cups Feeling and the Unconscious
This suit represents your emotions and relationships, as well as peeks into your Intuition.
☆ Wands Intuition and Will
This suit represents your drive and passion, as well as your internal introspection.
Tumblr media
𝟎𝟑. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬
So you know the makings of your deck, and you know their meanings. But how do you read the cards? I'll ask some questions to my own deck, draw cards, and discuss how I decipher them!
𝟏 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝
"What is an emotion I should be aware of today?" This is the question I've decided to ask for this example! When suckling the cards, I keep this question in mind, but also like to clarify my meaning. "What emotion should I be conscious of today, positive or negative? What do I need to become aware of?" These kinds of questions while shuffling can help get a bit more of an accurate read on your original question. The card I drew for this was:
The Nine of Wands reversed
This card represents exhaustion and emotional burnout. This is a very clear sign that I need to take a moment to relax, and not force myself to do everything all at once, lest I burn myself out and kill my passion. This resonates because it's what's kept me from posting as often as I'd like. Now that I've recuperated though, my cards want me to remember not to reach that point again. To take breaks.
𝟑 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬
As I write this, I've done my "daily reading." This is a simple 3 card reading I try to do every morning just to get a feel of my day and the mindset I should try to keep throughout it. The cards I drew were:
The King of Pentacles
The Emperor
The Ace of Cups
Lucky for this example, we've got a Major card! So how do we read this?
Well the King of Pentacles represents abundance, while also representing accountability. This tells me that I need to be aware of my resources, and treat them with care. The King of Pentacles represents a sort of provider, and as a provider it's important to be responsible with the assets you have and provide for others.
Next we see The Emperor. This is another card that represents an authority figure and responsibility. So we see a recurring theme between these two cards already. The Emperor represents a firm hand and the creator of structure.
Finally we see the Ace of Cups. This card represents something completely different than the other 2 cards; instead focusing on the emotional path of life and the joys that come with it. The cards can also represent the start of a new beginning.
It can be confusing to decipher the meanings of these cards when reading just the meanings, so this is where we start to look at the core of these cards, and apply them to our original question/intent.
The King of Pentacles
Responsibility and abundance
The Emperor
Responsibility and authority
The Ace of Cups
The joys of a new beginning and emotional fulfillment
When we look at my original sentiment "how will my day go today?" we can see that it speaks of being responsible, especially as someone considered an authority figure (i.e. the owner of my discord server or even a blog many people come to for guidance and help). Lately I've noticed I haven't been wholly responsible and it's led me to neglecting this blog in a way I don't enjoy and procrastinating a lot of work on my server. The cards are telling me to take responsibility for the communities I've cultivated. But the Ace of Cups tells me this reading isn't a condemnation, but rather, the start of an exciting new beginning. That is time to shed my old insecurities and fears and to start anew!
Tumblr media
𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Sometimes your readings will have multiple meanings, and it will be up to you to decipher which meaning is relevant to what you asked, or if all of them should be headed.
We'll use my 3 card reading as an example.
While this reading represents my need to take responsibility, it can take on other meanings as well. One meaning can be about the relationships I currently have, as the Ace of Cups can also represent the start of a new love. This can change the meaning of me being the responsible party, and instead represent my newfound partner, who is a very large figure of authority.
It can also represent my father, who loves me dearly but is incredibly stern with me.
It's important to see which meaning resonates with you most. For me, the third message doesn't resonate very well, so I won't consider it the intended message. The first two meanings however resonate deeply, and while the first one is much more in depth, I can pull clarifying cards for the second.
𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬
Clarifying cards are simply additional cards you draw to clarify your main reading. Sometimes things will seem a bit confusing, or you'll need some extra information. Clarifying cards are used exactly for that. We'll continue off of my previous example in terms of my reading representing my partner, and see what additional information we can gather. Once again, I speak my intentions into my shuffling. "Can I please have some clarification on the meaning of that reading in terms of me and X? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated." The cards I drew was yet another Major Arcana:
The Chariot reversed
This card speaks about a lack of control and direction. This card once again resonates, as for the past week or so I've been incredibly insecure and spiraling over the specifics of this relationship and the aspects of it I can't control. This card reminds me to understand that I can't control every situation and narrative, and part of life is the unknown and the scary.
With this, we've gotten 3 meanings of one reading, 2 of which resonated, and managed to break them down effectively!
Tarot is much easier than you may think, especially when getting down the basics! You don't need to memorize every card right off the bat, using your guidebook or an online guide works perfectly fine. After a while, you'll naturally start to recognize the meanings of each card.
I hope this has helped you understand tarot a little better! Feel free to ask me any questions at all, and safe travels ♡

Store update!
For every page in the Adventure Time tarot guide, I did some doodles. This one of Abracadaniel is one of my favourites, and it is with him that I advertise to you that I'm now selling discounted 'seconds' of the guide on my Bigcartel store (link here)
They're guides that are just a little bit flawed. Some have marks on the cover from the printing process, and some have slightly scuffed spines from shipping.
The books are sized A6 and are 172 pages long. They're fully illustrated on every page, and include the meanings for every card as well as the stories behind their designs. Also included is an introductory guide to reading tarot, and a description of how I created the deck.
Thanks for reading! <3

Tiny Tarot Guide <3 ~ Minor Arcana
In this post, i will break done the elements of the minor Arcana. i will go over the meaning and elements of each suit as well as the roles of the cards {ace, page, king, queen, ect.} Each suit will get its own post with more details on their cards.
it is always important to remember that tarot is about intuition and what you feel the cards are saying to you, this is is just the surface information of the cards, and it is up to you on how it is interpreted.
The Suit of Cups~~{ also called, chalices, goblets, vessels.} this suit is feminine and represented by water, and deals with emotion. It represents the fluidity of out hearts, of our feelings and emotions. how quickly calm waters can become raging tides.
The Suit of Pentacles~~{ also called, coins, disks, rings} this suit is feminine and represented by earth, the physical world. how we shape our worlds with the things that are tangible. This suit can also represent our ego, or self image.
The Suit of Swords~~{ also called, blades} this suit is masculine and represented by air, and our minds. Our thoughts our inelegance invisible to the eye but still there, and still capable of making an impact on the world around us. this suit can represent the fragile balance of our intelligence. and how it can be used for both good and bad.
The Suit of Wands~~{ also called, batons, clubs, staves.} this suit is masculine and represented by fire, our spiritual energy, our creativity and strengths. wild and unpredictable like fire, it can be helpful and inspirational, but also destructive and untamed. it reflects our drive, and will power.
Ace~~ These for cards are the base of each suit. to me, it feels as if they lay the foundations. they are the whole suit, but not at the same time. they represent beginnings, optimism, and success. they are the first chapter to a new period of your life. the seed are being planted, and what becomes of them is up to you.
Two~~ these cards are your pairings, balance, forks in the road. the two cards call you too consider both sides of something, or perhaps can signify the joining of two things. of course these decisions and joining's depend on the situation and which suit the two is from.
Three~~ these cards are about growth and creation. they can be a call to action, or a sign of change or a turning point. threes are your pivotal and important moments depending on there suit.
Four~~ the fours are your stability, your foundations. it is a number about balance, and commitment. these cards are your grounding cards, your dedication. its like, the a stable point, after the hard change of the threes.
Five~~ these cards are about making change happen, or change needing to happen. life jolts back into action with the fives, weather you want it to or not. they are unpredictable, sudden, flexible, adaptive. these changes can be positive or negative based on their suit and position.
Six~~ six brings reflection, and a journey. they represent unions and departures, depending on the context and positions. they bring back the balance after the sudden change made by five. balance doesn't last, though six is a sign that things will be stable for a moment.
Seven~~ change returns with seven, but this time it is about individuality. These cards tell us to take control of a situation. the sevens can be signs of progress, or signs of things holding you back. challenges and obstacles are represented by the sevens, but these things can be over come, and these cards are here to help.
Eight~~ eight is about each suits strengths and weaknesses, based on how the challenges brought by the sevens where handled. the eights are fast paced and a time to find your inner strengths. either you feel the positive changes propel life forward, or life has grabbed you by the tail and is dragging you along weather you want it to or not.
Nine~~ these cards are the final stages of action. they ask you to reflect on life and the things you have experienced. things begin to wind down and this period of your life or situation you have been in is closing, every thing you have worked for is in sight or you missed that opportunity and it is passing by. the consequences of your actions are now taking place.
Ten~~ its the end, but also the beginning, ten makes way for new beginnings, it completes a cycle. the tens signify that as one door closes another one opens, and now you can go into this new door with everything you learned from the previous. ten asks us to use everything we learned to make better choices in the future.
Page~~ these cards represent the young and care free or it could just be someone who is feeling youthful. these four cards deal with childhood issues, messages, dreams and hopes, and can represent your inner child. when upright the page is hopeful and full of vigor, reversed can lead to disappointment.
Knight~~ the knights represent the less mature people in your life. they are about taking action, being the best you can be depending on their suit and position. these cards have a mission, and they want to take charge, or they could represent a person in your life who is encouraging you, but on the flipside it could also be someone dragging you down.
Queen~~ Each queen represents an aspect of femininity. they represent the people who nurture you in life, this is usually women, but can be men. These can be you, or other women in your life. they are the movement, and emotion of their suits. the queens encourage you to be mature and self aware.
King~~ the kings are the providers in your life, the flipside to the queens. these are the people who bring stability, and strength. these cards guide you to direct your energy in the best way to achieve your goals, or guide us on how to control or maintain the things represented by their suit.

Hiiii! I hope this is not too intrusive, but I was wondering if you could explain how you use your tarot to communicate, what tarot you use, and, if possible, where did you got it from? (If you don't want to answer publicly, you can dm me, but no worries if you don't want to answer at all >_<')
Have a nice day/night! And thank you for everything you do in this blog, you really are a big help and guide for most of us!
Khaire! Not intrusive at all! ♡
I typically use tarot in combination with lenormand and oracle cards! I typically ask my questions or my general intentions, and clarify them while I shuffle!
In terms of the deck I use for tarot, its the True Black Tarot deck here ♡ Definitely a bit on the expensive side but absolutely worth it I think.
If you mean my oracle cards however (the deck I show on my blog), it's the Endless Oracle deck ♡
I hope this helps and I'm glad my blog helps so much!! Safe travels! ♡

PICK A CARD: Let’s hype you up
Hello and welcome to this reading! Here I will try and hype you up. I hope you enjoy this reading!
masterpost > paid readings > patreon masterlist
The extended version of this reading can be found on my patreon, the link of which is here
IMPORTANT NOTE: I made this pick a card in hopes of helping people get through the day. I'm currently in a very bad situation I do not wish to specify. I made these readings in hopes of helping myself as well. Whatever you are going through you can do it, and I believe in you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile 1:
Listen up. You are not just good, you are an exceptional person. You have worked too hard and have pushed yourself too much and have come way too far to start doubting yourself. You have the capabilities; the skills, the mindset, and the motivation to make it all happen. Whatever you’re facing today, I promise you you are more than capable of handling it all. There is nothing out there big and strong enough to hold you down, absolutely nothiny. So hold you head high, take a deep breath and stand strong, act like whatever room you’re walking into is owned by you. Because guess what? You do.
extended reading > paid readings
Pile 2:
You need to understand that you are an absolute powerhouse. Every time you’ve been knocked down you’ve gotten back up again. Every time you doubted yourself you’ve proved yourself wrong. Today isn’t going to be any different. Whatever challenge is in front of you you already have all it takes to conquer it. Look at everything you have achieved so far. This is just another step on your journey that you’re going to nail and nothing else. Trust yourself, own your space and be the unstoppable force that you are. Show everyone including yourself how amazing and awesome you are; and keep going until everyone believes you.
extended reading > paid readings
Pile 3:
Please take a second to remind yourself of who you are. You are someone who is kind, compassionate, understanding, strong and intelligent. You have overcome and experienced things many people wouldn’t have been able to survive, yet here you are, standing tall and ready to take on whatever comes next even if it might not feel that way. Today is another chance for you to show the world what you’re made of. So don’t hold back, don’t second-guess yourself. Be there with confidence, show off your true personality no matter how loud or ‘bothersome’ it might be for others. You’re meant to be here and you’re meant to thrive while at it.
