Hello hello! My name is Genny and I’m the creator/author of The Rhyming Tarot. I’d love to find a community I can squeeze myself into, so please say hi! I’d love to exchange readings and support fellow writers/artists.
I’ve been writing poems and songs since I was itsy bitsy teeny tiny. I remember reading Shel Silverstein’s poems for the first time and thinking that if I couldn’t learn to write poems like that, I might as well curl up and die. That feeling has never left.
I live for high-quality whimsy, magic in the mundane, and solid mnemonic devices.
I’ve been reading and studying tarot for 19 years. I love that a deck of tarot cards functions as its own little world, always there for our entertainment and enlightenment. The more I collected different decks, the more I appreciated the classic Rider-Waite-Smith. To honor it, and to expand on it, I decided to add poetry to the pictures. I think I did a great job of capturing and honoring its heaviness and its humor in The Rhyming Tarot. It’s tarot 101 for beginners, and a meditative device for more advanced readers. Plus, look how sweet it is. Bless.
(Note: The RWS images I used are in the public domain! Woo!)

I'm slowly catching up on things and updating my various collection posts. So far, I've updated My Tarot & Oracle Collection and Works I've Read, so next is going to be Currently Reading & Queue.
I'm also looking forward to sharing my notes from the book I'm currently studying from, which discusses witchcraft from a primarily anthropological perspective, with respect to areas often overlooked by anthropologists as well. It's a nice blend of history and anthropology and has given me a lot to think about in terms of how witchcraft has become what it is today based on history and more recent resurgence.
Anyways, I'll share that in a proper review once I get to that point. :)

For those of you going along in this challenge with me my first draw is a king of cups!
Todays prompt is death and the king of cups represent the union between the emotional world and the very rational world.
As we know… death in many cases doesn’t actually mean death but a great change usually involving the total stopping and resurgence of something else.
In your death, and reincarnation would you want to have a dual relationship with your head and heart?
Ill be using all of my decks including just regular playing cards to make this as inclusive as possible.
I want this to be a learning experience and if you only have electronic cards to follow along with or playing cards that is cash moneyyy
July 2024 tarot challenge ☀️🧸🫖
Heyyy One of my favorite things is using tarot as a tool to look internally, aka I be using this shit as a shadow work tool. Seeing as I feel like 90% of my mutuals and followers need therapy I made a little daily july tarot prompt! July is a very important month for me and my family so I want to celebrate this with you all. ☀️🌳🌿
Feel free to do this on your own with your own deck: ALL DECKS WORK! VIRTUAL, TAROT, ORACLE, LENORMAND, STANDARD PLAYING CARDS ALL ARE WELCOME!
July reading prompts:

Day 4: your favorite quality of yourself
Day 5: a painful memory
Day 6: a new friend
Day 7: a lost friend
Day 8: self love
Day 9: interpersonal love
Day 10: a sense of belonging
Day 11: family (can be found or birth)

Day 14: based on your favorite book
Day 15: based on your favorite movie/show

Day 18: a goal/ hope for the end of the month
Day 19: moving on from the past
Day 20: lessons learned
Day 21: personal growth milestones you should look out for
Day 22: physical things to let go of
Day 23: non-physical things to let go of
Day 24: ways to take care of yourself

Day 27: goals for years end
Day 28: reasons to appreciate and love your friends

I want to make this beginner friendly so if you have any questions feel free to ask: it can be on interpretation or finding specificity in the prompt or literally anything idc
